Hey bunnies! It’s been a minute. 🩷
I have spent the summer getting chubby. 😀 But it’s been worth every alcoholic beverage and vacation calorie.
I decided to spend as much of the 90 days of summer saying YES to new experiences. I had to not let my weight hold me back from all the things on my bucket list. It HAS for many many years. “So sorry, but I’m too fat to go and do this and that. Sorry! But I have nothing to wear, it’s all too tight and I’m too self conscious!” I’ve known this my whole like, but I’m trying to live it “people who love you do not see your weight as a barrier to loving you”. They invite you because they want to spend time with you. Stop saying NO. You DO want to go.
Summer 2023: It’s had some ups and downs.
I went to Lido Beach Sarasota FL. Beautiful beach. 2 days in I had COVID: took 13 days to recover. That birthday vacation ended quickly.
Tried to make it up in Vegas end of June with 108 F temperatures. So hot you couldn’t even sit by the pool. Stayed at the spa most days.
Went to my first Grateful Dead concert. Perks: I already had COVID so no mask. The Free Contact high was amazing!
I did archery for the first time! Love it .
I learned to play CRAPS.
I went white water rafting at the American River.
Camp and made s’mores.
Watched the fireworks! 🩷🩷
Taught my self to make my favorite drink: Paloma.
Went to a Fiesta party and a Disco party. YES! Dressed up: wig and all!! Salsa and 70’s music and dancing.
46 days left of SUMMA! Go get it!!! ☀️☀️☀️
BTW: I’m back on my exercise and diet plan. I Do have a threshold. 🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️

Fighting Harder Each Day: A Daily Battle for Your Best Self In the relentless journey we call life, every day presents a new opportunity to strive for our best selves. Each morning, the sun rises with the promise of a fresh start, a clean slate, and a chance to keep fighting harder for our dreams and aspirations. This blog post is a reminder that, no matter the challenges, you can face them with resilience, determination, and a never-give-up spirit. The Struggles We Face Life has a way of throwing obstacles in our path. From personal setbacks to global crises, there's no shortage of adversity to confront. It's in these moments of difficulty that we truly discover our inner strength. The truth is, life was never meant to be easy. But it's our ability to fight through these difficulties that defines us and shapes our future. The Power of Perseverance Perseverance is the key to fighting harder each day. It's the unwavering commitment to your goals and the resilience to withstand life's storms. Here are a few ways to keep persevering: 1. Embrace the Challenge: Challenges are opportunities in disguise. They teach us valuable lessons and propel us toward personal growth. 2. Set Goals: Define what you want to achieve and break it down into manageable, bite-sized goals. This approach makes the journey less overwhelming and more achievable. 3. Stay Positive: Maintaining a positive outlook can significantly impact your ability to persevere. Positivity breeds resilience and fuels the motivation to fight through adversity. 4. Learn from Failure: Failure is not a roadblock; it's a stepping stone. Use your failures as lessons to improve and get better. 5. Seek Support: Surround yourself with a support system that believes in your dreams and offers encouragement during tough times. 6. Celebrate Small Wins: Even on challenging days, there are small victories to celebrate. Acknowledge your progress and use it as motivation to keep moving forward. The Never-Give-Up Spirit A never-give-up spirit is a powerful force. It's the determination to face each day's challenges with unwavering resolve. It's about acknowledging that setbacks are part of the journey, not the end of it. One of the most inspiring aspects of the human spirit is its ability to persevere in the face of adversity. It's the determination of a single parent working multiple jobs to provide for their children, the resilience of a student pursuing their dreams against all odds, or the strength of a healthcare worker fighting tirelessly on the front lines. These individuals embody the never-give-up spirit. In Conclusion Life is a battle, but it's a battle worth fighting. Each day brings a new chance to pursue your dreams, to overcome challenges, and to become the best version of yourself. The struggles we face can be stepping stones to success, and the never-give-up spirit is a powerful force that can drive us forward. So, embrace each new day as an opportunity to fight harder, to persevere, and to achieve your dreams. Remember, it's not about the destination; it's about the journey and the person you become along the way. Keep fighting for your best self, and you'll find that every day is a victory in its own right.

There are a ton of things I want to get into.. Martial arts, drawing, learning a foreign language, sewing, programming. Math. Scrapbooking. Unfortunately just the sheer amount of ideas and goals I have overwhelm me and I have no idea where to start, because I do not think I have time to practice all of those things, and they all sound so attractive and I can‘t decide where to begin. This undecisiveness leads to procrastrination in my case. Do you have any advice?
Hi love! I would say to create a hobby "roadmap" for yourself.
Consider the main goals you want to achieve in each area. Create a SMART goal (or two) for each hobby (e.g.: I want to get a yellow belt within 6 months; I want to create XYZ types/number of portraits of XYZ subjects before the end of this year).
Break down the larger goal into individual milestones/tasks for each hobby/area of interest(Enroll in a semester of weekly martial arts classes; Take a drawing class to create a work of XYZ subject or to learn XYZ drawing technique this month, next month, etc.)
Create a timeline for each hobby/interest and put all of these timelines together on one shared document to see your overall "roadmap"
Plan your non-school/work hours around this timeline and track your task completion/progress over the next few months
Reevaluate your goals, plan, and tasks/timelines as needed
Hope this helps xx

You know at first I didn't believe it when fiber artists on tumblr would tell me to be wary of the fiber art slippery slope. And yet. I hear the siren call of the spindle. Fellow crafters help me resist. Tie me to the fucking mast. Please.

something bad happened to you, and you died, and you came back wrong.
not wrong all the way. the little ways. you forget important dates, stopped going out with friends. it's harder to make you smile. you're apathetic towards things you used to love, afraid of places you used to go to cheer up. quieter. flinching. different.
you came back for love. you're still here for love. what pulled you back was a brightness so loud that even death couldn't outshout it. death heard the call and smiled at you and said okay. go home. somebody is waiting for you.
but you came back different. like lot's wife; you've turned into salt. you used to chirp through life in hops and skips; but now you lose skin just standing up. you have to move slower, skimming across this world without-touching-it. most things feel dull - until they're suddenly all-too-much. life, and being alive just rushes up and over you and you get hopelessly crushed.
you try to explain it to them: it is ugly, but this is what you are, now. the huge golden hoop of your halo now a little bronze ring. you are still watering your plants and wearing the same clothes. after all, you worked hard to come home. this life; so odd and off-color, now that you are wrong.
but they waited for you - it's just that they wanted the "you" that happened before this. the "you" that could sing in the show and hug people tight and look at a blade without breaking down to cry. the you with a smile in pictures. god, holyshit, it's like looking at a completely different person, isn't it. that other-you; the one they actually wanted.
you are the consolation prize. you are the body that forgot the ghost. you are the memory of the bad thing, and the death after; like you are wearing that memory as a banner. you are a fragment, an assembly. simulacrum. you don't make eye contact in mirrors, afraid the light will glance off and your true nature will flash back at you.
you hear them talk about it in their hushed, desperate whispers. sometimes they even admit it to your face; harsh and violent, acid thrown at christmas dinner. god, can you just fucking be normal again. you do not remember what normal is. you had to climb so far to get back here; you are far too exhausted. you want to open the glass door of your heart and show all the gears. can you help resolve whatever got messed up?
you try so, so hard. you came back for them. because you believed they would love you, even when you were so horribly broken. because you believed they would be patient. because you believed unconditional meant "without exception." you cannot do things the same way. you just get tired too quickly these days.
you want to put them on a couch and pour them the tea with hands that shake more than they remember. you want to line them up and draw them a map of where you have had to wander. you want to show every bruise in a backsplash; the little helpless ant of your soul carrying all that weight, over and over. you want to say: yes! it is different! but i did it for love!
you want to say: "i'm not the same, but i'm yours and i'm here. can that be enough?"
