Pros:

Great music!

No one minds if you break something, even on purpose.

Interesting crowds. Can find all sorts of folks here, who can do almost anything if you’ve got the money.

Speaking of money, it’s everywhere, and no one cares if you start rifling through things for spare change.

Cons:

The Doors. Don’t enter them, you’ll end up who knows where and when.

The bar-fights. Seriously, you slap one guy and suddenly everyone is trying to kill you. Someone nearly took my head off with a lightsaber!

Not the worst drinks I’ve ever had, but definitely not great, either.

We've got our first official instance of Jedi Finn Merchandise!

According to leaks, there's going to be a LEGO set later this year based off the LEGO SW Holiday special

From the poor quality pictures I've seen, the set will be of the interior of the Millennium Falcon decked out in holiday decorations, and in it the set will have Chewbacca, BB-8, a Porg, Rey with yellow lightsaber (the first set to have one), and Finn with a blue lightsaber

Also Finn and Rey will be wearing holiday sweaters

Oops my hand slipped and I made Jar Jar Binks earrings! This little guy is paired with pearly mauve and white Czech glass stars. I think they capture Jar Jar’s spirit.

I recently listened to the Redemption of Jar Jar Binks podcast which was fascinating. You can’t listen to it and not come away more in love with Ahmed Best than you already are.

thinking about the time I was reading the Phantom Menace novelization at work and my coworker told me I couldn’t read that because he hated the movie. I asked why and he said “first of all, it was Natalie Portman’s worst performance. second, I hated Liam Neeson in it. it’s his worst movie.”

my response?

“Ah, this means that you think his role as Good Cop/Bad Cop in the Lego Movie was quite good!”

I have finally acquired and built my Lego White Whale.

The Fury Class Sith Infiltrator from the SWTOR line. I always thought its design was a super cool take on the TIE fighter idea, but a $90 set was out of my price range in 2012, and I wasn't gunna pay like $200-$350 for the complete set mini-figures included.

So instead I ordered all of the pieces for the ship off Bricklink for like $120 (shipping included) and built my own bootleg version. As it turns out this ship only had 1 unique part that I was able to find for surprisingly cheap.

I didn't get the stickers, so I added some sort of extra gun on the side of the wings using some extra parts I ordered, but I'm happy with the end result.

Here it is alongside all of my other Lego TIE fighters. It holds up super well compared to even my Solo TIE and the new Interceptor.

Finally, here is a shot of my cat Void doing his darnedest to help me build the ship.

The Obi-Wan Kenobi miniseries is scattered moments of emotionally-devastating pure brilliance linked together by some of the most childishly dumb plot devices you can imagine.

#this could have been good #and in some moments it is #but there's so much nonsense in between that doesn't need to be there #there are so many pieces that are so good but they're put together in entirely the wrong way #like it's a top-of-the-line lego set put together by a monkey with a blindfold on #they had the obi-wan-vader confrontation as a pitch #how do you mess that up? #by throwing in a pointless extra villain for one #and by giving both of them their very own idiot ball to play with so they don't even have to fight for it #i've seen it suggested that since lucas ignores dialogue the best way to watch the prequels is to mute them #and just watch the images while the soundtrack plays #and for significant portions of this show that's how i'm having to approach it #beautiful aesthetic beloved characters some fascinating moments but please ignore the ham-handed dialogue that strings it together #i still love little leia and the force-sensitive underground railroad with all my heart though #and the whole series is almost worth it for that moment when kenobi's like 'i know what vader will do next' because he knows anakin so well #also for that double-agent lady #and a lot of the lightsaber fights are genuinely cool #star wars #obi-wan kenobi
