one thing that was so good about jane the virgin was how it compared similar stories? let me explain:
when jane gets pregnant she decides to not get an abortion even though she’s told to, and later in the show when xo gets pregnant she choses to get an abortion, even though she’s told not to. the show isn’t swaying you one way or the other, it’s showing that both choices are valid and it depends on what you want.
or how the two sapphic stories were so different. roisa’s love story was incredibly passionate and toxic and ended in death, but petramos’s story has a happy ending because they loved each other unconditionally learned how to communicate (and also neither of them were serial killers). it shows that not all queer relationships have happy endings but not all queer relationships are doomed.
idk it gave us the best of both worlds :)

Rose staying over at Luisa’s had become a regular thing. Rose told her husband it was because she was helping Luisa out with her legal issues with Jane. Emilio, who didn’t want a third of the shares of his hotel going to somebody else was completely okay and happy with the fact that they were putting in so much effort to save Rafael’s shares.
Of course, since there wasn’t too much they could do, most of their time was spent just doing whatever they wanted. Rose would come over in the afternoon, they’d go over the case for a bit, and when they got tired of it they’d sit together and read, or sit outside and look at the stars, or make dinner together, or take things to the bedroom.
Luisa was never happier than when she was with Rose. She loved having Rose over. She loved having so much of Rose’s time and dreaded the case ending, because then they wouldn’t have an excuse for Rose to stay the night anymore, and she loved having her over for the night but hated that Rose would leave so early in the morning.
“You’re not gonna kiss me goodbye?” Rose asked
It was early in the morning, the sun wasn’t even up yet, but Rose had to go home. She promised Emilio that she would be home early.
Luisa looked at Rose, scoffed, and turned around and crossed her arms over her chest. “You know the way out.”
“Oh come on Lu. You know it’s not good to leave and go to sleep mad. I could get into a car crash and die, and you’d feel guilty that you didn’t kiss me goodbye.”
“I’m sure I wouldn’t.”
“Lu. Baby, you know I can’t stay, your dad’s waiting for me.”
“Then leave, you’re wasting your time here talking to me.”
“Talking to you is never a waste of time.” Rose whispered. Rose tried to make eye contact with Luisa but every time she tried, Luisa would look away. Rose laughed and moved behind Luisa to kiss her on her head, which earned her another scoff from the shorter woman. “I’m leaving.” Rose said as she walked towards the door. “You sure you don’t want to kiss me goodbye.” She tried one last time.
“Certain.” Luisa called out.
When Luisa heard the door close and she knew Rose left, she sank deeper into the couch. She was mad. She hated when Rose left. All she wanted was for Rose to stay for a few more minutes and just lay in bed a bit longer with her instead of leaving before the sun was even up.
She was about to head back to her bed when she heard the door open. She walked back into her living room and saw Rose walking towards her. Rose picked her up and threw Luisa over her shoulder and started walking towards her room.
“Okay.” Rose said, “You wanna play like that.”
“Rose, what the fuck are you doing?” Luisa yelled, kicking her legs so that Rose would let her down. Just then she got thrown onto her bed and Rose climbed on top of her. Rose framed her face with her arms and started kissing her all over her face. It was hard to stay mad.
“I can’t leave while you’re mad at me.”
“Well, then you’ll never leave.” Luisa smiled
“Bratty baby.”
“Only for you.”
Rose kissed Luisa’s neck. “So you're telling me none of your other girlfriends had to deal with this behavior.”
“Nope. Just you.”
“Well that seems unfair doesn’t it.” She kissed Luisa’s nose.
“I’ve never cared about them as much I care about you. So you have that going for you.”
Rose looked at Luisa for a bit, just admiring her beauty. “I love you, you know that right.”
“I know.” Luisa whispered. “I love you too.”
Rose flipped over and pulled Luisa to lay on top of her. Luisa snuggled into her and Rose kissed her on the head. “Should I make us breakfast?” Rose asked.
“What about my dad.” Luisa sighed.
“Oh he can wait. I’ll just tell him I overslept.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah. You want me here, so I’ll stay. But Lu, this isn’t going to slide every time. I still have to pretend to be his perfect trophy wife.” She said rolling her eyes
“I know.” Luisa said softly. “But let’s not think about that right now okay? Let’s go make breakfast. What should we make?”
“Pancakes. Bacon, eggs and toast. Everything. I could do with a good breakfast.”
“Great, let’s go.” Luisa said getting up, pulling Rose up with her.
They worked swiftly around each other, this had become their norm, and Luisa loved everything about it and wished that one day this could become their everyday.
