I’ve watched this TikTok so many times over (OP is hilarious 😂 Go check her out!) and thought that it reminded me of small gremlin Lambert with Geralt and/or Eskel and Papa Ves. However, now that I think about it harder, this isn’t Lamb. It’s Luka. So uh. It's just occurred to me that the "bedrooms" bit of Kaer Morhen is still standing and probably wouldn't have been damaged too badly in the attack? Like. If you're a human all caught up in a xenophobic rage massacre, you've got bigger things to worry about than trashing someone's room? Like avoiding the monsters nobody told you would be there, or teaming up to take down the defending Witchers, because they're stronger and faster and better trained than you.

Anyway what I'm getting at is how long did it take Vesemir to realise that Luka's shit was all exactly as he left it the night they went out drinking

He barely recognises his own life at this point? He's the last surviving Wolf that he knows of, and he's managed to keep four whole children alive for however long without gutting any of them, and he doesn't remember the last time he had the coin or the time or the energy to get right properly drunk or fuck all the feelings away. He's facing the Sisyphean task of patching up the keep as best he can, by himself, and doing all the training that Luka and Sven would've been so much better at. Everyone he cared about all his life is dead.

And Luka's room still looks like he'll walk back into it any minute now, save for the stale air and the layer of dust settled on everything he won't be coming back for.

Bed unmade. Sleep shirt dropped on the floor. Book splayed open on his pillow - yep, a trashy monsterfucker shirt-ripper with a handsome Witcher on the front cover, typical. He misses the easy banter, misses being able to mock without wounding. He can hear the haughty "Maybe I'll lend it to you once I'm finished, Lord Vesemir. You might learn a thing or two," response like Luka's standing right behind him.

(He's not. They killed him. He died alone, and for nothing, all because Vesemir wanted to go drinking)

((He'll read the book. All the way to the end, even though the writing is appalling, the protagonist bland, and the Witcher love interest a cocky, arrogant arsehole. And when he's finished it, he'll go down to the memorial he put up when they first came home - Luka's not there, not really, but it's all he's got - and tell him what happens. And that it sucked. And that he's sorry.))

Witchers are supposed to be independent, self sufficient. One unit working on their own. They don't need anybody else. Working together is a bonus, a rarity.

Meeting up is about honing the individual skill, not forming bonds or dependency. It is supposed to be like that.

Reality, however, is different. Sometimes witchers find each other, find themselves with each other. Brotherhood, family, a partner, a friend. Out on the path or behind the walls of the training ground, sometimes in sleep.

Geralt and Eskel have snuck off after breakfast, ditching Coën and Lambert and Luka and the others, skipping out on laundry.

There will be hell to pay later, but for now they run through the forest, yelling and hooting at their temporary freedom. At breakneck speed, they jump over creaks and logs and stones.

They have stolen one of Vesemir's bottles, one they have seen him and Luka sip from late at night and become giggly.

There is no way two teenagers can keep their filthy paws away from the opportunity, and they take their small bottle of victory to the shed down by the lake.

Geralt scrunches his nose at the taste, Eskel laughs and snags the bottle, drinking deep, only to start coughing, his eyes tearing.

They become the same kind of giggly as Luka and Vesemir, they attempt their worst impressions of them both, and then of the rest of the witchers at the keep for good measure.

They laugh themselves breathless, the walls spinning and their eyes heavy.

It is late afternoon when Vesemir finds them passed out on the dirty floor, the evidence of their crimes by their feet.

They have curled up together on their sides facing each other, hands entwined. Vesemir can't help but smile, his own memories from a youth long past an echo of the scene before him.

But the two trainees were right. There would be hell to pay, and as they woke up with the first, and the worst, hangover of their lives. They were sent to run the walls until the sun came back up again.

When they were finally allowed inside for breakfast, Lambert took one sniff at them and gagged. Liquor and sweat and teenage hormones makes for a terrible cocktail for a young witcher nose.

All in all, Geralt and Eskel have no regrets.

As the years pass, they become two independant, self sufficient witchers, they don't need anyone else.

But they meet up anyway. They steal a bad bottle of whiskey, finish it together in the late evenings, making the worst impressions of the best people they know. They pass out, their hands still remembering how they fit together.

As they part, they bring new memories with them. To be honest, sometimes there’s less memories than they started out with, but that too is an experience.

And both consider themselves richer for it.

to her, all her ability to cry was lost to her the day her dad died. after that, and for a straight month afterwards, then a period where she refused to utter a SOUND for a 5 month period.. she hasn’t and refused to let anyone push her to the point of tears again. these days, she prefers to make OTHERS cry (like the true villainess she is ajsknas). and to push her to that point it would take the death of her uncle, or worse so, the one always at her corner for as long as she could remember and love of her life ash. these two remaining anchors would be enough to do it. and given that anya possesses gravikinesis AND umbrakinesis aka: the abilities to manipulate shadows and gravity itself, for the worlds sake ONE BETTER HOPE NOTHING HAPPENS TO THEM.

YOU ARE ASKING THE BEST QUESTIONS GABBY i literally adore u for that omg. the can of WORMS this is jsdndah. so there is her father who passed away by assassination, her estranged mother, her uncle luka (and current head of the family) the man who has raised her since her fathers passing a decade prior, her babushka and dedushka.

her family relationships are... complicated? her mother, a superhero who separated from her father to continue her career in hero work (she chose her celebrity and reputation in essence kdosja) THEY HAVE NOT SPOKEN SINCE THAT CONFRONTATION and its a good thing! it would take a LOT for her to like.. make anya forgive her. (like when her mother comes asking for help in the story its gonna be INTERESTING jksdfkjf). her and her uncle have always been close! this is her closest familial connection, the number one supporter of her succession as the head of the morozov crime family AND her desire for vengeance against her fathers murderers. her relationship with the rest of her family, her babushka and dedushka and the morozov crime family is good..? she has a high respect for both of them and is poised to take the seat as head of the family. its a good relationship! her dad passed away and to be truthful the only person who could have been her anchor towards a more altruistic path.. had he still been alive she would have chosen to become a vigilante just as he was. :’) he was her anchor, her favorite person.. CRYING.

she likes it fine! annushka’s thoughts these days are more veering towards her 25th birthday and her divine vengeance against her fathers killers skansk, but she likes the holiday fine! its nice to be appreciated by her admirers u know? 😌 and she has! many.. MANY times. she has had more than her fair share of admirers, and although they were nice, looked nice and the gifts were as well.. none of them were all that appealing. she actually hasn’t! anya is one of those under the expectation that if she loves someone, she doesn’t need to tell them for them to know! perhaps its bc shes got a particular person in mind to give that honor to and this is all just an excuse sajhnsd.

this is my fav question ahh I adore talking and reading about inspo behind characters ☺️!! i had an oc from a LONG while ago from something from a different thing and she is the successor! (a far more unhinged, far more vengeful and villain aligned oc!) also! the lasombra from vtm (the RUTHLESSNESS and the shadow manipulation!), DANY very inspired by daenerys (the domino of tragedies in a short time that led to her losing control), and a bit of witcher 3 ciri! (the revenge kill of imlerith for vesemir and anya wanting to kill her fathers murderers) i also was very inspired by her umbrakinesis when I made her pinterest board and so a lot of that has elements of shadow and the black and white aesthetic, this is also the first thing i decided for her! and that her name/nickname would be anya! ive always wanted to name an oc anya, and was waiting to find the PERFECT oc to fit that and! she did!

🔪 KNIFE - how do they react to injury / misfortune befalling their loved ones (significant other, family, friends)? do they put themselves at blame?

NOT WELL NOT ONE BIT. as she is on a hunt for BLOOD in regards to her fathers killers, and how she handled her fathers death and her own misfortunes as a whole. the whole declaration of making the ones who have wronged her pay for what they’ve done to who she cares for and who has cared for her, to wrong her loved ones is a VERY bad idea! one that’ll cost you! she’ll raze the entire city if it means divine retribution sadsjndai. she doesn’t! whoever had misstepped on those she loved its THEM who hurt them and it’ll be THEM who will be sorry! but she used to blame herself!

16. You can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)

Aiden lmao. I keep hearing about him on Tumblr and AO3 and at first I thought he was someone's OC that become popular (cuz that happens in fandoms sometimes) but apparently he's a character who was mentioned ONCE in The Witcher 3 yet I seem to see far more content of him than of characters like Triss, Calanthe, Dara, Coen, Renfri etc

I get it, people project onto characters that are essentially blank slates but his popularity relative to characters with far more screentime and characterization in other media is honestly a bit ridiculous 

18. It's absolutely criminal that the fandom has been sleeping on...

NIGHTMARE OF THE WOLF. Unlike Blood Origin which everyone knows and (unfortunately) hates, no one in the fandom seems to even know what NOTW is which is a shame cuz I really enjoy the movie. Sure the timeline and lore are inconsistent with the show it's supposed to be the prequel to but besides that, I think it's entertaining and offers an interesting look into Vesemir’s backstory and events that happened decades before the show

I like how it characterizes Vesemir in a complex way. Plus I love Illyana and Luka as characters and I recommend it for the animation alone
