In order to stay alive, malum had fragmented aspects of himself in four and became a shell, attaching himself to a host and live, despite his new status as empty. At least, that is what charlie has come to learn.
He never said what would happen, were the people closest to her to perish, and leave one of the aspects without host and in dire need. She came to learn that now, when the serpent apep revealed himself to her.
To anyone in HQ, she had dissociated. She looked to be in her thoughts and her gaze ever distant.
To her, she was within the confines of her mind. Speaking to the aspect and accompanied by her lich who watched closely as his wolf-like form hovered over her.
He belonged to Farah, prior. One of the adults in charge of her. He was war, wrath, and everything violent that came with it. He was once malum long ago.
Or a part of him, at least.
"If you were to leave me to roam, I will inevitably belong to someone. Anyone. Their demands are mine to obey."
Anyones.
She didn't like that. Even her father could become his host. He already had too much power. What would she do if he had this kind of power then?
"I'll do it."
Her response was quick, and malums hunger showed itself ravenous. She'd do it because she thought she had to. Because she thought that if she did, everything would be fine sooner or later.
Because her father would have nothing against her then.
Apep has to stare her down for a moment before lowering his head. Malum is quick to rip apart the aspect to a mass of gore and devour the flames of war it lost many, many decades ago.
The surge of power was like a new wave of life surged through malum, but to charlie, it was if fire licked at her skin and ate away at her. So much power, for someone so young.
In the middle of the cafeteria, it is where it all starts when she came to, back to reality from the crevices of her mind. She intended to meet with someone, but a coughing fit caught to her first.
First came the ash from her coughing fit, then the scent of burning flesh and the bubbling of her skin... Right after, combustion. Fire ate away at her form before it shrinks, and inevitably, it's like the inside of her head is hollow, and all there is, is fire.
Coming right out of her sockets and mouth.
All those there scattered, whether to report the matter or make sure it was kept at bay, varied.

Deep down, She knows the clocks ticking.
Eventually, Malum is going to crawl out and make a mess of HQ if he grows impatient. She doesn't want that to be the case, and she knows that she should consider leaving.
Quietly.
