Jaune: “Nora, fire a warning shot!”
Nora glances down at Manghild, before glancing up to Jaune.
Nora: “Jaune-Jaune, this is a grenade launcher.”
Jaune: (Waving her off) “Ah potato, potahto, just do it Nora!”
Nora shrugs, before taking aim with Manghild and letting out a satisfying Thump
Ren: “Jaune, this is a hostage situation!”
An explosion occurs off-screen, followed by the cries of “MY LEG!”
Jaune: “And your point is...?”

Me, who could have been thinking about tvoy all day at work: ok, time for bed. Goodnight
My brain:
Me: . . . don't . . .
Brain: what kind of trees ate native to arras biking live in? Where's Manghild even from anyway? You just said 'viking' and thats like. Super vague. Did vikings ever use hammocks? What are all of your oc's enneagram types? Whats Magnhild's? What's the magic system for this story gonna be like? How long--
Me, sobbing: please I have work tomorrow, shut up and let me sleep

I Am Once Again Thinking About Weapon Symbolism in RWBY.
Like, specifically the origins of everyone's weapons within the main cast and how it's reflected in Ruby's "they're a part of us, they're an extension of ourselves!" as well as Nora's "it's only a part of you, don't forget about the rest"
Ruby and Weiss both based there weapon designs off of their mentors and role models, Qrow and Winter, and both eventually grow out of their idolization of them, realising they are flawed people that they can't always depend on, and maturing into their own huntresses and carving out their own path. And so their relationship with them becomes more equal in turn, with Qrow and Winter being inspired by them instead, and despite maybe spending a volume spiralling, (V6 for Qrow and V8 for Winter) eventually learn to turn to them for support and still offer it in kind, willing to reach out and help Weiss and Ruby.
"Since when did you grow up so fast?" (6x10 Qrow to Ruby)
"You've grown up quite a bit, haven't you?" (7x05 Winter to Weiss)
Then there's Nora, whose weapon Manghild is a hammer, likely based on the toy hammer Ren gave to her when they first met, saying they'd protect each other, defining their relationship and, for a long while, most of Nora's life. And now she's at the point where she wants to figure out who she is outside of her relationship with Ren.
"When my mom ran from the Grimm and left me behind, you found me. We became Ren and Nora. But I realized on this mission apart, I don’t know who “Just Nora” is. And if I’m ever going to find out, then I have to do it alone." (8x11)
Curiously is how all the boys in the main cast have weapons that originally belonged to their fathers, or in Oscar's case, his predecessor. Ren was given his Father's knife and told to "take action, son!" right before he died, and Ren's arc has recently shown how he struggles when he has no clear path of action to take, and has learned to reflect, to look inward, to better understand his own emotions and others. Despite still carrying his Father's knife, he forged his own weapons, Storm Flower.
In contrast Jaune was not given, but instead took his Father's weapon, Crocea Mors, a weapon passed down through generations of huntsman in the Arc family.
"Cause this is always what I've wanted to be! My father, my grandfather, and his father before him were all warriors! They were all heroes! I wanted to be one, too. I was just never good enough."
"I don't want help! I don't want to be the damsel in distress! I want to be the hero!"
He starts out desperately wanting to live up to that image of being "the Hero" and over the course of the series learns to let go of that toxic mindset, instead growing into a role that supports and uplifts others, reflected not only in his semblance, but in how he adapts his weapon, for greater defense and support. He still uses his family's ancestral weapon, but he's adapted it to make it into his own, to fit the kind of person, the kind of huntsman he is. (This then ends up linking to Ren's recent arc when Jaune confides in Yang that he relates to him, saying he used to push people away too)
With Oscar he's handed the Long Memory, a cane passed down to hosts of Ozma, with the literal expectation from Qrow that he is Oz, or will be.
"It's good to see you again Oz"
Though the insistence that the merge is something both Oscar and Oz are strongly opposed to while constantly reminded that it is inevitable, plus Ruby's "you're your own person" only cements that in the future, Oscar will find a way to break the cycle.
I don't know if in the future Oscar will forge his own weapon while still carrying the Long Memory like Ren does with his weapons, or would adapt the cane to make it more his own like Jaune with his weapon, but the fact we've seen that the huge amount of kinetic energy within the cane is something Oz entrusts Oscar with, to give him an option outside of magic which accelerates the merge, to buy him time in whatever way he can so he can still continue to grow into his own person. And that's only possible with the cane, as opposed to Ozma's staff, which appeared to only act as a conduit for his magic.

//Ok but guys, consider:
//WolfWalkers but trolls instead of wolves
//but instead of biting, they use the spells of Old Trylla which are used to turn humans into trolls-at least until daybreak, when the sun turns them back.
//Manghild would 100% know this kind of magic and would absolutely cast it on Arthur to show him the kind of cruelty he’s inflicted on the innocents of trollkind.

Crack to the extreme...
Title: Rose in Arms
Pairing: Ruby Rose x (Crescent Rose, Gamble Shroud, Ember Celica, Myrtenaster, Croce Mors, Manghild, Miló and Akoúo̱, StormFlower, and Floating Array)
Related to @silentmagi's Ruby Rose's Harem series. Ruby's romantic partners, her sister, and the rest of her friends and teammates are very confused when she mysteriously vanishes, and are even more confused when they realize their weapons had vanished from where they had them. When they find several girls with mechanical parts that call their weapons to mind holding a blushing Ruby trapped in a cuddle pile, they are even more confused. Just what in Remnant is going on?
