Eerie modern yukata/kimono by Furifu, depicting blooming manjushage (better known as higanbana/red spider lily) and what is described as a cute tokage (lizard).

Higanbana are linked to death imagery, because of buddhist higan equinoctial week (where Buddhist services are held and people go clean tombs), and the fact people once believed they bloomed on Sanzu river's shores.

I like to believe the little lizard could actually be a luck bringing yamori (gecko) thwarting the dark undertones - unless we agree on a more ominous imori yokai ;)?

In Twisted Fates, Hana doesn’t have an assumed name. She knows her first name is Hana, even if the rest of her past is a blur. She does have a codename however. Manjushage, an alternate name for the Red Spider Lily, but also a mythical flower described in the Lotus Sutra, and a flower that is said to grow in hell.

Her deputy, Nine, goes by Honoikazuchi, one of the eight lightning Kami that crawled from Izanami’s body when Izanagi stumbled upon her in Yomi. Honoikazuchi (‘Blazing Thunder’) emerged from her chest.

Manjushage Matsuri

September 15th — Late September Manjushage is a deep red flower known as “Red Spider Lily” and fields of it come into bloom from mid-September in Kinchakuda Park in Hidaka (Saitama Prefecture). The park is open from 9am until 4:30pm and entrance costs ¥300. There will also be about thirty stalls set up especially for the festival.

Okay but when getting fitted for uniforms, the guy made Sayuri’s, Mitsuri and Shinobu’s too tight so they couldn’t button it up all the way, and Shinobu I think just threatened the guy until she got a new one, but Sayuri was too nervous to say anything so she just showed Sanemi the uniform the guy gave her and he went and threatened him for her until he got her a proper uniform. Sanemi wouldn’t have minded if she wanted to wear that one, but she didn’t and she was uncomfortable with her whole chest sticking out, so that’s the only reason he got mad
