I woke up this morning and my whole body felt so tired. It was out all night, again. My spider-sense also keeps alarming me, but nobody's here. I couldn't even do schoolwork this morning, so I've been lying in bed. It's so hard to focus right now. These kinds of days happen, but I really wish they didn't.
Eternals OC/sona, Caiya—the inspiration for the Chimera myth
I finished this drawing last December but didn’t post and almost didn’t save it for some reason?? Had to download a procreate file where I stored old art
Anyway here’s some backstory:
Caiya (she/they) has the ability to ‘copy’ abilities from animals/creatures and her fellow Eternals with 1 touch
They can only copy abilities from one being at a time
Her “amber” power makes her excellent in a supporting role during conflicts
Was the inspiration for the Chimera myth since she sometimes takes on physical traits of the animals she copies from (ex: fangs, a tail, different pupils, etc)
Has self-esteem issues since ancient people saw her as an abomination, so her myth showed her as more of an enemy or monster
Also has an identity crisis since she copies from other beings—it’s hard to know who she is without her powers and without helping people
She was first called “Khimaira” after the Eternals spent time in Greece, which led to her nickname of “Mera”
But her real name is Caiya, sometimes shortened to Cai
(Her many names adds to her identity crisis lol; she goes by “Amber” in the modern day as her disguise)
(Spider sona? Hardly know her) Here is my deadpool sona: Ghoulpool. Her alias is Sidney Florence. She’s around her 20’s, and has the healing factor of deadpool, plus she can walk though walls and see dead people.
About time I reintroduced my Marvelsona, no? Those of you who follow my main account may remember this lady from when I originally showed her off last year. Back then, she had a flimsy story and a very hard to draw design lol so I spruced her up and I’m finally ready to release her into the wild again.
And now this bitch got a BACKSTORY-
(If some shit here isn’t making sense, please check out this universe’s Toyhou.se page to get more details! A more detailed bio for Skye can be found there as well!)
Rambles ahoy:
Skye Villin grew up as a normal (well, normal-ish) teen. She spent her days mostly friendless except for one very close best friend, and often was avoided due to her odd interests. Things didn’t change for them until a field trip with their class one day, which ended near catastrophically as a lead scientist there traumatized a room of students with a torturous bird experiment while Skye, on their way back from the bathroom, got hopelessly lost in a closet and reacted horribly to the bird’s cries for help.
Disturbed and rattled, Skye went hope, insisting that he was TOTALLY FINE....but woke up the next morning with wings. OH SHIT OH FUCK OH-
After some obvious panic, Skye ended up getting tested for the X gene at a local clinic, aaaaand tested positive. Scared out of her MIND, Skye tried to keep her newfound bird instincts and hard-to-conceal wings a secret. But she didn’t last long as her best friend, Violet Vanderbuilt-Valdez, found out pretty quick. Skye kinda sucked at hiding things.
But Violet was supportive and was a shoulder to cry on for Skye, who hadn’t realized how stressful hiding superpowers was.
Eventually though, Skye finds out that “with great power comes great responsibility” must be true; because he unlocks the “Harpy Mode” of his powers while saving the guts of a boy from school getting mugged on the street. Violet of course offers to put her engineering mind to use and makes Skye a full-blown super-suit (with built in prosthetic wings to help Skye fly). While apprehensive at first, Skye soon takes to the skies as an odd and elusive vigilante who looks out for the little guy and flies through rural Ohio streets on golden wings.
Things are going great until Skye’s parents find out about all this. They’re notorious mutant-haters and essentially cut off contact with Skye save for awkward meals and the occasional horrified look.
Since she wasn't ever really "grounded" per say Skye continues going out and punching bad guys, until she's approached by famous Mutant rights activist and former X-man survivor of M-Day, Storm. While she fangirls initially, Skye is shocked when Storm offers them a place at the newly reopened Xavier's school. Storm explains that the world needs protectors, and that Skye is a great candidate. But she declines on the matter that she has a LIFE here. A FAMILY here! Friends...well...more like one friend....as they think, Skye begins to realize that Storm’s proposal to be in a space where they weren’t judged for their differences might be nice. After an extremely homoerotic goodbye with Violet, Skye sets off to her future. But they’re unprepared for what it holds. When millions of mutants reappear 15 years after M-day, Skye finally becomes something more. No longer just an Ohioan oddball, but Raptor: member of Xeno.
