Part two of that fic/fic idea thing from my last post that i really ought to name but havent, part one here
Is there a right way to react to a giant uncontrollable whirlwind of flames coming towards you at increasing speed, when you’re unable to move, frozen like a deer in headlights, staring blankly at your friends in the distance, they’re doing their best to put out the flames, they’re not going to notice him in time, or if they did, could they do anything about it? Jay doubted it, and he didn’t blame them, he was a matter of seconds away from feeling the full power of Kai’s creation of mass destruction, and there’s nothing that could be done.
He turned away from his impending doom to face towards Kai, who he just noticed was still trying to help put out the flames, tears streaming down his face, he being carried to the side by Cole, while Lloyd was doing his best to take off the vengestone bracelets he was wearing. It was seemingly proving to be quite difficult for all of them, and they were beginning to find themselves surrounded by the flames.
Jay guessed he was about to be consumed by the flames any second now. He’s suprised it hasn’t happened already. He tried to muster up enough strength to call out, to Nya, or Cole, or Zane, or anyone, but, as expected, it came out as little more than a croak.
He caught another glimse of Kai’s face, it was so full of anguish, and fear, and exhaustion from the ammount of power he’d used. Jay had caused this, if only he and Nya hadn’t tried to do this, why didn’t they know better?
And then, it hit.
The flames felt like, well, obviously hot, but in a weird, almost welcoming way. Until now, he had began to forget how much of a toll it was taking on him to keep his overpowered abilities at bay, he knew he couldn’t’ve done that for much longer, so as the flames danced arround him, cutting into him relentlessly from all angles, it felt almost, relieving. He knew that they were weakening him, he definitely wouldn’t be conscious for much longer, but it seemed to weaken his powers too, so, he felt like it was okay.
With as much strength as he dared use, he threw himself out of the way, little sparks of orange flames and crackles of blinding white lightning seemed to circle him for a second as he collapsed to the floor of the monestary with a small thud.

As The Atom Bomb Locks in
In which the scene from Episode 24 is portrayed differently.
A/N: hey y’all! sorry for my absence. i’ve honestly been having a pretty tough time in my personal life, and it’s made it hard for me to sit down and produce any writing. i’ll try to get back on track soon :)
loosely inspired by this song
also, major angst warning!
—————————
Garmadon fell back onto the make-shift bed, frustration coursing through his veins.
Trying to take over Ninjago is hard enough, now he has to deal with his son and his gang of ninja being spotted on the island? Now there’s another thing added to his list of worries!
He scoffed, closing his eyes and turning his head to the side. No matter. He can easily capture them. Sure, this island may be big, but he’s got a lot of stone soldiers he can send out. The Ninja can’t hide forever.
He began formulating a plan in his head, when he heard the door open to the room that he was in, and light poured in. He groaned. “I said that I was not to be disturbed!”
“Forgive me, my lord,” the stone warrior general, Kuzo said as he walked into the room, “but we have a prisoner who knows the whereabouts of your son's rebel base.”
Garmadon opened his eyes, sitting up and turning towards Kuzo, silently giving him permission to proceed.
And then, she walked in.
She was still the beautiful woman Garmadon had once fell in love with. Although her hair was now grey, she had a few wrinkles, and she currently was tied up, Garmadon couldn’t help but feel his heart melt a little. Her hair was tied up in the braid she used to constantly wear when she was younger, and she still had that look in her eyes- the look of adventure and passion.
Garmadon gasped. “Misako!”
She smiled that gorgeous smile, responding with “It’s been awhile.”
“I- uh- release her!” Garmadon commanded.
“Yes, my lord,” Kuzo replied, then with a swish of his sword, cut Misako loose. He bowed to Garmadon, and then left the room.
“Take off that silly helmet, let me get a good look at you,” Misako said, stepping towards him and reaching out.
Garmadon shied away from her, leaning away. “If you don’t mind, I’d rather not.”
Misako froze, then frowned, slowly putting her hand down. Garmadon stood up, putting his four arms behind his back.
He cleared his throat. “So, you know where our son is hiding, but I suspect you won’t give him up that easily,” he said, then grabbed a sword that had been leaning against the wall. “I know you too well, Misako,” he pointed the sword at her, “why did you allow yourself to get caught?”
“Because I know you don’t want to fight as much as Lloyd doesn’t want to,” Misako responded.
Garmadon lowered the sword for a moment, his eyes widening. “Lloyd doesn’t want to fight?”
He shook his head. “I mean uh, so Lloyd doesn’t want to fight! Hahaha!”
“If you’re still the man I once loved, I know you’d never want to see him hurt,” Misako replied.
“But it is foretold!” Garmadon proclaimed. “It is our destiny. I don’t care about him, I only care about turning Ninjago into my own image!”
Of course, Garmadon had been lying straight through his teeth. In all truth, he’s just about as scared as Lloyd is. He doesn’t want to hurt his son. He doesn’t want to have to fight him. He wished he could just drop all of this and go back to when he had a normal family, before it was all ripped away from him.
Misako sighed, shaking her head. “Then you’re not the man I married. I should go.”
She turned around, before Garmadon practically jumped up with a “No!”
Misako stopped, turning around. Garmadon met her eyes, a hint of desperation in his own. “Don’t.”
He took his helmet off, his black, fluffy hair poofing out. Taking in a breath, he placed the helmet on a mannequin head that had been sitting near the make-shift bed.
“Misako, I may look different, and evil may now course through my veins, but I am still the man standing before you.” He smiled at her, holding his hand out. “I want you to rule by my side.”
“You… what?” Misako asked.
“Misako, it’s you. It’s always been you. The woman that I lied with, I want you to rule with me,” Garmadon replied. “You and me, together… forever.”
Misako didn’t respond.
Garmadon sighed. He slowly but shyly cupped Misako’s cheek. “And as the world runs to the ground, it’ll be you with me. It’ll be… us, together.”
She locked eyes with him, her hand going onto his.
He leaned in to kiss her, but Misako moved away, shaking her head. “I… will not kiss you, Garmadon.”
Garmadon stood there, shocked. He blinked a few times, before responding with a: “What?”
“I- can’t do that. You know I can’t. The main thing I have been trying to do is prevent Lloyd and you fighting, not encouraging it,” Misako said. “It’s not easy, you know. The hardest part of this… is leaving you.”
Garmadon sighed, turning away from the woman. “I… thought I could count on you, Misako. I was always able to.”
And then there was silence.
“Misako?”
An alarm began blaring, and Garmadon turned around quickly. Misako was gone, and so was his helmet.
As Misako ran, she could hear his yells of “Stop her!” and “Don’t let her get away!”. She could also hear him yelling “You’ve deceived me?!”
And Misako would run back to the ninja, once again leaving her husband behind. It pained her to do, truly. While she was back there, in the heat of the moment, she almost said “yes”. She almost wanted to throw it all away to be with him again. Because she loves him. But throwing everything away to be with him isn’t her main goal right now. It’s preventing her son and her husband from fighting.
Even if that meant deceiving him and leaving him behind.

golden power; never wielded
my first work for @ninjago-angst-week! prompt - abandoned (16/08) Lloyd's never known what it's like to share his heart with another, linking two lives together as if one had found the melody to their chorus, now a song in perfect harmony. If he’d always felt like he was invisible; wondered if there was something fundamentally wrong with his inability to touch others’ hearts, then, well, that was no one’s business but his own. Of course, that was before he quite literally fell for someone - the first person, actually - who seemed to care. Of course she was too good to be true. Or, the S8 angst I've been wanting to write about 'game of masks' and the aftermath. trigger warnings - suicidal thoughts, brief mention of implied self-harm, not really a warning but it talks a lot about loneliness. "How did you know?"
"It's an Oni Temple. It's safe to assume that only an Oni could take it."
"No. How could you know that I was part Oni?"
How could you know that I was part Oni?
The question repeated itself in his mind, echoing into the blizzard.
Sometimes, he wondered what would've gone down at the temple if he hadn't been so observant.
Well, he thought bitterly, probably not the temple itself.
The walls collapsing, he'd caught a glimpse of his terrified face as the room filled with swirling inky blackness, freezing him to the bone.
But the real pain came from her words.
Ah. Your emotions. You can't get rid of them, can you?
No, he'd wanted to yell, staring listlessly at the shaking grey semblance of sky.
He'd always felt like he wielded the element of light; invisible, trapped behind a barrier that no one cared enough to break. Isolated; locked away from the world. Longing for - yearning for - a single soul to want to know his heart. Pain that almost felt tangible, bleeding into every motion, every day.
Everyone else seemed to find it so easy - so effortless - simple as breathing, taken for granted like it was ingrained into their bones. Everyone else seemed to have given away a little piece of their heart - to their parents, friends, or lovers.
The fact that his was, and had always been, entirely whole?
He was either cursed, the venom from the Great Devourer passed down to him, or there was something fundamentally unlikable coursing through his veins.
By this point, he assumed it was the latter.
Maybe, if anyone had ever cared - wanted to know him - he'd never have felt like it was pressing down on his chest like a casket; a useless block of ice that no one wanted, not even the unfortunate owner it'd been given.
If no one would know his heart, he'd thought, grabbing a forgotten map, he'd strike fear into theirs - until they knew what it was like to sob into invisible barriers, to gaze upon the world with a weary eyes and a heart heavy with the knowledge that if they vanished, no one would even notice.
He'd realized far too late that he had unleashed an evil that couldn't be controlled - or one that could only be controlled by his- by someone else that had sunk beneath the darkness until no light remained-
He'd escaped from the crumbling casket, energy and eyes blazing - only to find that Har- she'd already escaped with the mask.
The Oni Mask of Hatred.
As they had steered the boat through the river, her sweet smile hiding lie upon lie, he'd thought it was somewhat ironic - two lovers, seeking a literal manifestation of hatred.
He'd laughed bitterly; no mirth in the sound.
After his first crush had - well, literally tried to crush him, he didn't think that this day could get much worse.
Until she dropped him into a contraption that was the stuff of nightmares - leaving the others with a seemingly impossible choice.
He'd wanted to yell, scream, that they should save his mother - he'd hurt enough people over the course of his short life, as evidenced by the grief-stricken orphan yelling a foreign language right in front of him.
I'm the expendable one! Maybe she was right - it was my fault the Serpentine were able to release the Great Devourer. And it took thousands of lives - but never the life of the one who was to blame.
He'd grabbed the vengestone bars, the faint sense of numbness they brought a welcoming relief from the storm of emotions that- he honestly had no clue what to do with.
i could drown, he had thought briefly, fleetingly. what if i drowned and i never hurt anyone again-
you have  a responsibility, even though you've pretty much failed to uphold it so far
"Clotho venge! Clotho decer! Clotho haeed!"
Shoving the thought to the back of his mind, he'd gripped the bars tighter, ignoring the sting of the metal against skin.
If anything, he'd welcomed the sting.
Any pain was better than the agonizing reminder that his heart was, and had always been, entirely whole.
He didn't even realize he was trembling until he heard his father's voice echoing from the vortex.
His father hadn't asked to be bitten by an evil snake, the venom coursing through his veins for years upon years. He hadn't asked to be dumped at a boarding school for bad kids, spending what he had left of his childhood hiding in empty classrooms or yelling empty threats as his classmates snickered.
Against all odds, they'd been reunited. Evil snakes, Fangblades, even Jade Blades - none of it had stood between them.
Just when he thought they might have a future - he might have a- a family - the Cursed Realm decided to curse them all.
His father with imprisonment, him with a life devoid of a father he'd loved, at the end.
Now H- she wanted to resurrect him?
His father had been so much more than the Oni blood in his veins. So was he.
But if he was completely Oni-
Lloyd didn't like their odds. He kind of hated them.
"Clotho venge! Clotho decer! Clotho haeed!"
---
A few chaotic hours later... they'd won? They'd won.
The Sons of Garmadon (he'd always thought the name was kind of ironic - he, the only son of Garmadon, wasn't in their crazy biker gang) had been imprisoned by courageous, if a bit overzealous, taser-wielding policeman.
Ninjago was celebrating - everyone was; he should be, too.
Should he really revel in their victory, though? It was his fault that she'd been able to snatch the last mask, all the safeguards the Oni had put in place practically worthless because of his stupid feelings-
H- Harumi had been thrown in one of the police vans.
"You're right - this isn't me," she'd started, her meekness almost convincing him that she really was the girl he'd fallen for - the girl who'd been forced into a mask she never wanted to wear, but someone who still cared about the world... and- and about him.
"Stop."
He'd cut her off, the venom in his tone surprising both of them.
"Save it for someone who cares," he'd forced out, the hurt welling up his chest almost as painful as their unceremonious descent into the jungle, (the descent she'd orchestrated, he'd thought fleetingly, squeezing his eyes together) unable to believe that this- this liar was the same sweet girl he'd fallen for.
With that, he slammed the door of the van, locking her in - wishing that locking his memories away could be easy.
She'd never cared about him; simply needing to use him as if he was nothing more than the power he wielded.
He watched one of the policemen drive her away, the tired-but-enthusiastic cheers of his teammates nothing more than background noise; static.
Vaguely, he realized that his heart wasn't quite whole - he'd given a piece of it to someone whom he had thought would link theirs together in harmony, the melody to his chorus; what he'd been searching for ever since he'd woken up screaming in a 'boarding school' that seemed more like a prison.
She'd taken more than what he'd given - draining the light from his entire being as if she was the Overlord, stealing his golden power without a shred of remorse.
That failure was practically painless, compared to her-
An almost unfamiliar emotion slowly stated to replace the ache in his chest that he'd grown used to for all those years; it'd become comforting, even. Watching the world go by with a heart that seemed more like a curse, he briefly, fleetingly, wondered if he'd be better off without one.
If there was ever a problem that presented itself to Nya while she worked on the Bounty, she used to joke that it'd be easier to just dump their entire hard dive into the sea.
Destruction seemed to be easier than fixing, he conceded - the van now just a glimmer of bright light; one of the many that made up their vibrant city.
"How did you know?" he heard, yet again wondering how he felt so disconnected from his own role in the memory.
How had she known?
The whisper of a voice long gone bled into his consciousness, his hands shaking at his sides even as the city celebrated.
Why had he even asked that?
Plastering a smile on his face as he walked over to his teammates, the question repeating itself in his mind, echoing into the blizzard.
FSM - she didn't need to be leader of a biker gang to know that.
Who could ever give their heart - the epitome of human connection; golden power all on its own, albeit of a different kind - to an Oni?
Maybe he wasn't the one trapped behind an invisible wall, built on tears and loneliness and yearning and heartache and a lone question - why? Why could no one seem to look past the cage he felt himself trapped in, observing the world rather than playing a part in it.
He hadn't been a- abandoned by everyone, he realized, a weary sense of clarity and shadowed eyes not sure to accept it or push it into the back of his mind like the hours he'd spent there, as if he'd ever want to have hurt his teammates like he did, the twisted ghost-
He trailed behind his teammates as they sang - horribly off key, his mind pointed out, forcing a small smile onto his face - lost in the figurative blizzard, despite the fact that the sun's rays had only vanished a few hours ago.
If no one would know his heart?
FSM - could he really blame them?
(if you read this far, thank you so much, you’ve made my day:D)

Hit me with the angst it could be anyone tho i am biased towards Zane morro and jay I will take anything as long as it gets my tears flowing
M...Morro angst...hnnnnng okay okay so like PERFECT and VERY SAD plotline for this one, although it will get gruesome...
Greedy for Green
Where Morro didn't expect this, he didn't want this; he didn't want this at all.
Of course Morro loved you. That's why he forced you to come on this journey with him. He loved you, and couldn't leave you, so you had no choice.
“Morro, please,” you begged with small tears, “you’re obsessed; you’ve been getting hurt more often, you haven’t been eating or sleeping as well, and you’re growing weak. You don’t have to be the Green Ninja to be powerful, it’s just not your destiny.”
“Shut up!” He snapped, pinning you to the wall by your shoulders, hurting you, “I’m not weak! If the golden weapons don’t think I’m worthy, then I’ll make them believe I’m worthy!”
“Morro!” Wu’s voice echoed through the room as he slammed his staff against the ground, “that is enough." He was angry for several reasons. "Go to your room until supper is ready, and don't come out." He scowled. He used to love him, and treat him like a son, but now there wasn't really anything left to love about the angry teen. He was surprised you saw anything at all.
"What do you know, old man?" Morro scoffs as he shoulders past his sensei. At least he wasn't fighting this time.
You exhaled with relief and slumped against the ground, crying softly. "Are you alright, (Y/N)?" Wu asks, kneeling down and putting a hand on your shoulder.
"I'm fine, Dad." You sniffle, "it's just that he's been so aggressive lately, and I don't know if it will stop...I've tried reasoning with him, but he doesn't want to listen to me."
He hugs you tightly, "it's okay, it's not your fault." His words comfort you, but you know from experience that it only works for a little while. "It's my fault; I got his hopes up, and it broke him." He smiles, smoothing down your hair, "come, I've made some cookies, and I think you are well-deserving of one."
"Before dinner?" You ask, and he nods, making you grin excitedly.
He was just glad you didn't follow in Morro's footsteps, or your mother's, for that matter. Wu loved her, and had a child with her. You. Unfortunately, she died when you were young, sacrificing herself to become The Sun so life could flourish in Ninjago. You'd together greet her every morning at dawn with happy smiles and waving, and tell her goodnight every dusk. He knew she was watching you grow.
During dinner, it's awkward and quiet. Wu watched with disproving eyes as he watched Morro fawn over his child, who in his mind, deserved better. Of course, he'd always liked you since the day Wu took him in, just as friends. However, ever since he was introduced to the idea of becoming the Green Ninja, it was like the only things that mattered to him in his life was training and you. He found it disturbing, to be honest. "So, (Y/N), did you hear the news from your Uncle?"
You shook your head, swallowing your food before speaking, "no, did something happen?"
He nods with a happy smile, "you're going to be a cousin very soon."
Your jaw drops, and your utensils fall onto your plate, "really?! No way, when? Do they know if it's a boy or a girl? What are they naming it? Garmadon Jr.?" You gleefully belt out questions that Wu didn't really have any answers to.
"Well, your name is (Y/N) Wu, so I expect his kid's last name will be Garmadon."
"If it's a girl, he should name her Olya, and if it's a boy, he should name him Lloyd." You grin.
"Those are...interesting names." He chuckles. "I'll let him know." He glances over to see Morro isn't paying attention, looking rather disinterested.
"I think I'm full." He says, plate barely even half empty, as he leaves to go to his room.
"Morro, you really should eat more...then you can have dessert with me!" You look up at him with sad eyes, as you try to get him to stay.
He stares back, blinking, then smiles. "No thank you, really, you deserve to have as many cookies as you can eat." It's a false smile, as the moment his back is turned to you, he glares at Wu as he leaves.
In his mind, you were perfect. You were sweet, simple, naive, and best of all, gullible. You believed in him more than anyone else when he was told he could be the Green Ninja, but it disappeared so quickly when the golden weapons didn't react to him. That was okay, he reasoned with himself, you just believed in destiny too much. You were younger than him, and he could understand that. All he had to do journey to the tomb of the First Spinjitzu Master, to prove to you that destiny was fake, that he could become the Green Ninja by force, and that you can carve your own path. Unfortunately, he wasn't sure whether or not he needed a descendant to find the tomb, or even enter it, so he had to take someone along. It certainly wasn't going to be your father, or your uncle, and he didn't want to wait for your cousin to be born.
"Wake up." He looks down at you while you are sleeping, and it startles you.
"Hey! Get out, you're not supposed to be in here!" You try to cover up with your blankets, as it was too hot to wear a shirt tonight. Morro didn't seem to care, though, and tugged them back off.
"Then get dressed, stupid." He hissed, going through your clothes and tossing you a loose shirt.
"I'm tired, can't we do this tomorrow?" You complain, rubbing your eyes and yawning.
His temper is short, he wants to get going before Wu wakes up. "Now."
You whimper in both sadness and fear, and dress yourself in front of him, since he doesn't seem to want to leave. Once you're done, he grabs your travelling bag, which is already packed with water, clothes, rations, and a sleeping bag. "Morro...where are we going?"
You look sad, but he needs to prove to you he is worthy. Your feelings about this right now don't matter. "We're going to the tomb."
"My Grandpa's tomb?" You gasp, "you can't," grabbing his arm, you tug, as if it would keep him here, "I wouldn't go, and even Dad doesn't dare go!" You sit down on your bed, "I'm not going, and I'm gonna tell Dad you're leaving! Then you'll have to stay."
He grabs a fistful of your hair, and puts a hand over your mouth to keep your cries silent. "I could've left without you, but I wanted to bring you with me." He's much stronger than you, and pulls you around to the exit of the monastery. "If I leave you here, Wu would just plant lies in your head about me, but I need to prove to you that I'm strong enough and determined enough to become the Green Ninja." You struggle in his grasp, but he does not let you go. "Just go back to sleep. I can carry you tonight. I've been training to sleep less for this reason."
Sure, Morro was your best friend, and you liked him, but this was too much; too far. You try to talk to him as you begin to sob and kick, but he can't hear your muffled begging. You were being kidnapped from your father, your home; everything you'd ever known. You panted heavily through your nose as your struggles weakened as you lost energy, but you couldn't give up just yet.
"Sleep, (Y/N), stop resisting. I'll take care of you, I'll protect you, I'll prove to you that I am strong and worthy." That was the last time you saw your father.
"Morro, I'm hungry." You complained. You'd been trudging through Ninjago for just over a week now, with no sign of your grandfather's tomb. "Dad's not going to like this, and neither will Grandpa." Your last rations were eaten yesterday, and you were just about ready to run out of water. You look up at The Sun, her heat beating down on you, "Mom's sad."
"Do you think I care about what they think?" He turns around to bark at you. "I'm so close to achieving everything." Sure you were tired, and sure you were limping from twisting your ankle, and sure you had a couple bruises from him manhandling you, but he convinced himself you were fine. You were weaker than him, of course this would happen. "Hurry up, stop being so slow."
You broke down into tears again. "I'm tired, I'm hungry, I'm sore, I'm hot, and I want to go home." You sobbed.
He just grunted and picked you up by the back of the shirt, forcing you in front of him. "You'll thank me when I become the Green Ninja, I'll be strong, powerful, and we'll become a famous couple."
"I don't want to be famous!" You wailed. "I want to go home, I want to see Dad, I want it to be before you knew about the Green Ninja, and we would just spend all day cuddling and training! I wish you would just give up!"
He snapped, grabbing you by the collar and pulling you into his chest. "Why can't you see that I'm doing this for you?!" It was a partial lie, but one you needed to hear, because he believed you wouldn't stay by his side otherwise. "I'm doing this so I can give you everything!"
"I already had everything! I had my father, my home, you, and we were all happy together once."
You watched him clench his jaw. "We can still be happy, you just can't see it yet, but one day, you will." He leaned down and kissed you roughly. You weren't ready for it, and tried to pull away at first, but he just held you there. He lets you go then puts his hand on your cheek. "Soon you'll see, I'll make you happy once this is over."
You sniffed and rubbed your nose. "Promise?" He nods, and that's enough for you. "Then...can we be quick?"
"I'll carry you, but we won't get to eat until we either catch or find something." He offers, picking you up and holding you close to him.
"Why can't we go to a village? They have breads and cheeses and meats for sale."
"Depending on others is a sign of weakness. I've learned to let go, but I won't pressure you into something like that." He cooed, picking you up in his arms and carrying you to the distant rock formation. "I feel like that's it, up ahead."
For once during the trip, you seemed excited. "Finally, then I can say hi to my Grandpa!" By the time he reached the entrance of the tomb, you were frowning. "Are you really going to keep me safe? It's supposed to be the most dangerous place in Ninjago, to protect a treasure he left for my Dad and Uncle."
He scoffed. "I wouldn't bring you if I couldn't protect you." He rolled his eyes before climbing inside. It felt rather warm, so he put you down so your body heat wouldn't mix with his and cause the two of you to overheat.
"Are...you sure this is the right place? I don't feel anything; no connection." You looked around and touched the walls.
He gave you a skeptical look, "he's dead; why would you?" You opened your mouth to argue, but stopped and looked off to the side anxiously. You were tired of fighting him. "Keep up, I don't want to lose you."
Something was wrong, and you knew it. When you looked up at The Sun, she didn't hurt your eyes, and you could feel a special kind of warmth from her, the kind that comes from love instead of heat. When you were in this cave-like tomb, though, you didn't feel anything. Even your powers of creation weren't acting up, like they did when you were around sacred places like the monastery.
Paths split, the cave got deeper and hotter, and eerie lights came from certain hallways. "Morro, I know this isn't the right place. Let's turn back." You pleaded.
"No!" He turned back on you. "I know there's something here, and I need to get it!"
"You're wrong! If you did love me, you'd trust me and my instincts!" You insisted.
"I do love you!" He yelled. "But you've been annoying this whole trip; whining, complaining, getting hurt; I should've left you behind so you could sit at home making food and cleaning!"
"Is that all I'm worth to you? Cooking and cleaning? I'm strong too, Morro, and you've done nothing but ridicule me, and dismiss my needs! If you didn't want me here, why would you have taken me in the first place?!" You argued.
"You're the only one of his descendants dumb enough to follow me here, so I could get the realm crystal!!" He shouted, causing dirt to fall from the ceiling. Why was it quiet all of a sudden. You'd never had silent tears before. He messed up big time, and now he was trying to backpedal.
"You...you u-used me?" Your voice was barely louder than a whisper. You hiccuped and started to back away from him.
"No, no, (Y/N), that's not what I meant, you know that's not what I meant. You're my best friend, I love you, I wanted to marry you, remember?"
"For what?!" He'd never seen you stand up for yourself. He fucked up. "So-so you could use me there too? Why did you love me?! Fame? Money? House cleaning service?!" Your eyes began to glow gold, and cracks in the floor were starting to show, exposing hot lava beneath the ground. The cave was starting to shift, making things unstable.
"Please, calm down, I got mad, you know that. You're going to get hurt." You'd never done any of this before; and for once, he was actually scared. Were you stronger than he first thought? Stronger than him? You were probably going to open the floor entirely.
"ANSWER ME!!" You didn't listen to him, and the ceiling above you rumbled and specks fell to the ground. Too much yelling, and the whole thing could come now.
"I loved you because you were sweet! You were kind to me, and you were my best friend." His words seemed to calm you down, as you were no longer yelling or even talking. "Of course I'd love you, you're the greatest person to have ever lived, and I took that for granted. I tried to become the Green Ninja to impress you, but I was wrong." But he still wanted to become the very thing that drove you apart. "I'll take you home, right away, so you don't have to come on this journey with me. I'll look for another way."
Your eyes stopped glowing, and you sniffed. "I don't want you to take me home. I don't want to see you again. You're obsessed, I told you this before, and I thought I could help you, but you've made it very clear what's the most important to you. Don't come back to the monastery; it's not your home anymore." And with that, you turned and left.
"(Y/N), stop." Morro commanded, but for once, you didn't listen to him. "Stop, please." He begged. Finally, he snarled; you were ignoring him. "(Y/N) Wu, don't you DARE leave me here!!" More crumbling from the ceiling. "I love you! Don't do this, or you're going to regret it! DON'T LEAVE!!" He yelled too loud.
You gasped and turned around to look back at him. Why did he yell? The cave was starting to collapse ahead of you, and you rushed to get to him, where the ceiling was more stable, so you could find another exit out. You were not that fast; not with your twisted ankle. You stumbled over it, falling to the ground, where you were promptly buried under impenetrable rock and stone.
He couldn't move, he couldn't say a thing. Your hand was still sticking out, as if reaching for him, but it was much too far away from the rock that buried you, and the large splatter of blood told him that the owner of that hand was very much dead. He swallowed thickly, falling to his knees as he still tried to comprehend both what he had done, and what the consequences to his actions were. You were gone. You were just a stain on the floor and a severed hand. You were dead. You were dead, dead, dead, dead, de- "NO, (Y/N)!!" He screamed, as it all caught up to him. This was his fault, as he tried to dig into the heavy rock. He would've given anything to be an earth elemental right now instead of this useless wind one. Maybe then he could've prevented the collapse.
Guilt weighed heavily in his heart. Now that you were gone, he realized how much he truly did love and want you. He threw it all away for power, because he blindly believed he could gain everything he lost since he would have the power to get it all back; but nothing in the world would bring you back from death, especially one like this. Your body was flattened, and there was almost nothing left of you. He dug his hands into the ground around your blood and tried to collect it; maybe he could present it to your father so he could use his creation powers to recreate your body and bring you back to life.
No, he decided, it was a dumb idea. You were created through birth; only your grandfather had the ability to create life from nothing, but he was dead as well as you. He couldn't do it; what was the point of staying here anymore? You wouldn't get to see or celebrate his accomplishments with him, and who knows what your living family would do to him if he came back but you didn't. They would probably curse him or torture him. He probably deserved it, though.
Through the cracks in the earth, lava still flowed. He had to find some way to apologize, or at least show how regretful he was. It stung at first, like a burn from getting too close to fire, but that wasn't the worst of it. His flesh began to sear and cook, the aroma of something unfamiliar and alarming in the air, but he still did not try to put himself out. He cried, screamed in agony, yet he continued on with his mission. If he could stay this dedicated to becoming the Green Ninja, then he could be just as dedicated to apologizing to you.
Suddenly, there was a voice in his head. "It's always such a shame that one as strong as you dies so young." His body still ached, but it was fading. He was no longer on fire, and his entire body had turned a transparent green.
"Who are you? What do you want?"
The being did not answer him. "They are not here. They are something new." Before him was an image; it was a roundish in the sky, one that glowed beautifully, despite all the holes and craters in it. "You made those." The voice spoke, referring to the craters. "I think it adds to The Moon's beauty."
"...Moon?" He was slightly confused now. He could've connected the dots if he really wanted to, but he was scared, worried, and lost.
"(Y/N). You have made them The Moon."
The voice was right; he looked closer and it looked like a bright version of you, curled up with a sad frown on your face, and a little tear by your closed eye. You looked like you were sleeping; although not peacefully.
"It is alright to grieve, but remember that you have also created beauty."
The Preeminent spent a long time convincing him that he was right; that he deserved to become the Green Ninja, that you were just being selfish, and that you looked a lot better in the sky. As the words were repeated, he began to truly believe them.
"The Moon looks beautiful." He smiles up at you.
Lloyd's body is filled with both rage and sorrow. He'd always wondered why The Moon smiled down so sweetly to him, and why his father told him his name came from it, but now he understood perfectly. "You...you killed my cousin!" He yelled through tears.
"Yes." He turns to face Lloyd with a sick grin. "They wanted to see you when you were born, but now from up there, they can see everything. They can see how much I love them, and then they'll stop crying."
This was news to Lloyd. Did other people see different things in you? You smiled down to him, but cried for Morro. He understood. "They're crying because you've become something unlovable to them."

senseiwu's ninjago aus
a masterpost
Under a read more cause.... It's quite long.
Glacier Dads
During a battle with the SOG and his newly resurrected father, Lloyd hands Wu to Cole and tells him to run, keep his uncle safe. Zane accompanies him, thinking it best for him to have some help. They leave the city with baby Wu and take up residence in a dilapidated cottage outside a small village. As they look after their rapidly aging master, the two ninja start to realise they have feelings for each other. I wanted more dad Cole and love Glacier, and also little Wu, so this seemed inevitable. Echo is in this one.
Human Zane
Zane wakes up one morning with a start - in the most unpleasant way, he finds out that he's somehow turned human. Struggling again with his identity that took him a while to accept, Zane is helped by his friends, especially Cole, who, after his time as a ghost, kinda understands a little bit. Pixal gets it, too. There's Heavymetalshipping in this one. Not sure when it's set. Sometime after s11 though.
Canon Divergent AU
Very creative title, I know. I just change random things about canon here. Morro comes back by accident through the Rift of Return. Wu doesn't become old again immediately because that bugged me. Garmadon starts to return to his old self, he and Morro have conflicts. Faith comes back to Ninjago after S10 and gets to chill. THEY GO GET ECHO ZANE!!! Benthomaar stays at the monastery with his new friends.
LCA AU
Ninjago characters in the world of Lego City Adventures (which you should definitely check out). There's no powers or magical destiny stuff, they're all just normal people who have lived in the city all their lives. Fendrich and Sinclair try and sabotage Cyrus. Dr. Julien helps out with the Mars Mission. The Commissioner cannot deal with Chief Wheeler and Duke combined. The ninja and co are all small, friends with Billy and Madison. Harl is an honorary member of the Walker family. A nice, lighthearted AU.
Family AU
Kai and Nya have three parents who love them dearly. Ray, Maya and Wu. LOTS of angst and also cute family fluff. Ray personally made wedding rings for the three of them because he loves his wife and husband so freaking much. Seabound hurts a whole lot freaking more in this. Kai's dislike of Garmadon in s1 is so much funnier but also a little sad. Lloyd thinks he has the best cousins in the world.
I haven't really talked about this one as much as the others but hopefully I will one day
Royalty AU
Ray is a new knight stationed at the palace and he and Prince Wu have become best friends and secretly fallen for each other. The FSM is a good king who loves his people. Clouse is kinda like Jafar, except he's secretly working for Chen. Evil people keep trying to take over the kingdom. Shintaro, Merlopia and King Mambo V's kingdom are nearby allies.
I don't know if stuff for these ones are tagged, since they were my first Ninjago AUs, I think
High School AU
Started out as an AU inspired by Detroit: Become Human. People have mixed opinions on androids. One day, Jay finds one without identification beaten up and "unconcious" in the park, and brings it back to his dorm, keeping it secret from his friends. They end up uncovering some dark secrets, including one about Zane's brother, at Borg Industries, along with Cyrus Borg, Zane's "childhood" friend. That's just the main story, there are some others. There's Hailstormshipping. Cliff Gordon shows up. Morro goes blind. Dareth is a fun PE teacher. Ronin is a shady janitor. This became a wider au when I had the thought of Griffin calling Neuro "Nerdo" while he's tutoring him. Multiple storylines.
Superhero AU
The ninja are a superhero team led by Wu. Morro is here and his death hurt me. Everyone's families are going missing. Zane is a cyborg with ice powers. Jay can't touch him or he might electrocute him, which sucks because they're boyfriends, so Cole has to do all the hugging for them. Multiple storylines.
Fantasy AU
The characters are random fantasy creatures in a fantasy world. I think the only storyline so far is Chen capturing random creatures, including Garmadon, in a sort of menagerie. Like that one Superman: the Animated Series episode, or that section of Morty's Mind Blowers or whatever that Rick and Morty episode was called. Oh, Vangelis is also here and is evil and Shintaro is kinda not as great as it seems. Look out, Misako and Lloyd.
Kids AU
(I have an askblog for this one!! @ninjakids! I'll be active again there someday....)
Takes place a bit before the show. The current EMs as well as the ninja are kids, being taught by Wu, Garmadon and their parents they got the powers from where applicable, in hopes that a betrayal like what happened in the Serpentine War wouldn't happen with them since they'd hopefully have a stronger bond. Chen sends Skylor to spy on the others but she ends up getting taken in by Misako and Garmadon, much to her delight. Morro is here. Everyone is shocked (pun not intended) to find out that Zane and Echo are robots. Neuro can't control his powers and ends up inadvertantly saving Ray and Maya. Garmadon doesn't get banished but boy are he and his family struggling.
EDIT: also
HAPPY FAMILY AU
Explained here.
Basically. A version of Family AU with as little bad things as possible. Ray and Maya don't get taken away by Krux. Garmadon doesn't succumb to the venom. Morro and Zane have been absorbed into the family.

More Oni headcanons that I wanted to add on
to @ambrosial-tea post but I forgot until now!
There are different tribes of Oni as stated in the last post. Aka Oni (Red), Ao Oni (Blue), Shiro Oni (Pale/White), and our Kuro Oni (Black/Dark).
We don’t know too much of the Dark Oni we got but we do know that Oni were originally intended to be guardians between Material Plane and Spirit World when the two began overlapping (possibly The Grasslands/Departed, and Cursed Realm before they began separating). Put a tribe of Oni on the Material Plane for a couple years and they’d splinter into subraces of Oni and become more corrupted by the years. Dark Oni became one of the tribes corrupted.
Aka Oni are the most common type of Oni with their dark red colors, large size, and toughness. They’re slightly bigger than the rest of their kin, more violent, unfocused, and pursue immediate satisfaction, disregarding long drawn out plots and schemes. They’re mostly known for strength too.
Ao Oni are known for their unnatural cunning and aptitude for magic, smaller than their red kin but larger than pale, and have different shades of dark blue. They’re the ones you’d catch calculating and meticulously pursuing lofty goals like power and knowledge.
Shiro Oni are known for their aloofness and connections to the spirit realm. They’re the smallest of the main three tribes and the fewest of members. They vary from pale white to light gray. (They may as well adopt other Oni who share their colors and hopefully teach them their ideals.) Pale Oni would rather keep things in balance between the material plane and spirit world as the ancient Oni intended. They guard their locations but will adventure for artifacts of the spirit world and mend balance. If we take that into account perhaps they are another reason why Realm travel is difficult to Oni who try to cross through the any of the realms involving afterlives.
While Oni have no concept of gender since they have both reproductive organs, they also have no concept of sexualities either. Honestly they just didn’t have a name for it when one didn’t feel the need to have sex or when another felt more attracted to the same sex aspects of their partner. (If anything, their type of relationships or way of thinking would be looked up upon because they felt closer to their spirituality and their true selves.) Again they sometimes don’t mate for reproduction but just for the vibes of their partner.
They probably didn’t have a name for having multiple partners at the time either. If one Oni wanted to be a part of what the other two had and they were content with the feel of them, then it was okay. Plus more hands to help raise the cub personally. (Essentially that’s what PolyGarm would basically be. They make Garm happy, they’re happy with him, and Lloyd would basically have more than two parents. At this point Lloyd would just have more dads and Koko is just the one good mom he deserves.)
The second Oni learn what kisses are and how they work, they find it just as addictive as they do with other acts of affection.
Oni are more closer to their family than they are to strangers because in most Oni’s belief, strangers brought suffering to the family. In turn they displayed their family’s name first before their own, showing pride in them and hoping to intimidate any strangers with ill intent towards them.
Speaking of Oni names, they don’t usually have any but when they do their names would be what positive traits the parents wish the child to take on. For example, a son could have “Akihiko”. “Aki” meaning “bright” and “hiko” meaning “boy/prince”. They could want him to be someone brighter than they ever hoped for. For a daughter, “Asuna” with “asu” meaning “tomorrow” and “na” to “greens” or “apple tree”. Maybe the parents are hoping the Oni daughter would lead them to a more plentiful day. And then there’s the family names. The most famous ones are “Hideyoshi” and “Ishikawa”. We’ve heard of these names and the history behind them, I wouldn’t want to come across any of their descendants that carry their name with honor.
Ironically “Harumi” is actually a name for a female Oni in some home brewing lore. One of her meanings is “govern/rule” and “beauty”. Goes to show how far she would take her name literally.
Shiro Oni/Pale Oni don’t have names, but it’s because they don’t want to be too close to the material plane while they guard the spirit realms. They would refer to themselves and each other as “that/this one” instead like how gargoyles in the old days would. If they come up with names, it’s for the sake of working with others on the material plane, but even then it only happens when they really trust the people around them.
Oni have a large appetite that could put the Pythor and the Anacondrai to shame. They could honestly compete against the Great Devourer and other wyrms.
An Oni’s pair of horns are a sign of honor. No pair of horns are alike, not even the closest siblings’ horns look the same. They all have their differences. Their horn length is their pride. Having them sawed off is quite literally shameful to the owner of them but they did do something to deserve it.
It’s possible that some Oni were confused at Garm’s horns not being there at first but they hear about the first time they grew out of his head he quite literally broke them off and bled for a good long while to the point of passing out. (Blood vessels actually go throughout the antlers/horns in animals which is why they aren’t busted right off easily. Why wouldn’t they to Oni horns?) Come to find out it was the FSM’s hate for Oni that made Garm hate himself and how he looked so Garm had them filed down to his scalp or small enough to hide in his hair. It honestly almost hurts the Oni’s look on the FSM even more but hey who hasn’t he hurt? It takes a couple more decades and some therapy before he finally let’s go of his internalized self hatred and trauma that he grows out his horns and finally has pride in himself like most Oni already do.
So it’s not uncommon for Oni to live among other races, whether secretly or not, due to their shapeshifting abilities, however sometimes they’re immediately shunned when their true form slips out. Unless they proved otherwise to the most accepting of inhabitants, they’re allowed to stay. By then they’d have a hybrid appearance with their horns out, either out of their kindness to ease the others’ fear of them or for their own personal benefit.
Oni that do live on their own choose to live in the wilderness or in the mountains. If living in society but still wanting some sort of solitude, they’d either be closer to the outskirts or deep in the downtown where you’d either have to ask directions to specific people to find them or already know where they are. Hence Mistaké with her small tea shop and Wu being able find her.
As stated before Oni have no problems with Half-Oni at all. They’re just welcoming another cub into the pack and it’s just the fact that they are a child of an Oni who fell in love with another humanoid. Although there are some cases of Oni being chased out by the other race with their cub in their arms and they just run until they find the closest tribe. They’d be welcomed into the tribe and the cub is basically adopted by them.
Again half Oni isn’t a problem to them, but they do have a problem with any particular wizards experimenting on Oni breeding with any other humanoids. The know it’s not the parents’ fault neither is the cub’s. If neither parent want nothing to do with them, then the half Oni cub is taken off of their hands by another Oni who was grieving at a loss of a cub (or the realization they couldn’t have any) or a pairing who wouldn’t mind another. The cub won’t have a terrible environment, the parents won’t have to unwillingly interact with the child until they resolve their own issues or they wish to visit and see them grow.
Meanwhile, those wizards will never know peace again until the day they die, even other tribes, who they could be at war with, will catch wind of what happen and help in taking them out. By the time those wizards die, even the Pale Oni who have no ties with Omega or any other tribes won’t be forgiving to them. They won’t do anything too harmful to them, but they will lead them to the terrible part of the Cursed Realm and those wizards proceed to stay there until they fade out of existence entirely.
Enough angst there and let’s go back to fluff. I bet Oni would love dice. Like not even for games but for the click-clack sound. (“Lloyd. They’re metal dice. You cannot have—.” “Shiny sparkly metal bits make pretty sounds! :D” “Garmadon please tell your son not— Not you too!” “Wha~ It does sound pretty.”)
Y’all know how like adult lions play with their babies? They pretend to be hurt and that the cub is super strong to help build up their confidence. Hear me out, Oni do that too. Big goddamn Omega really be taking hits from tiny little cubs, Mistaké be playing with little Garmadon and playing dead on him, then Garm just does the same thing for little Lloyd. (“Koko, sweetie, help. It’s the battle of the century in here. Help, save me. He’s too powerful!” “*tiny war cry*”)
Someone makes a baby Oni cry one time and boy it’s absolutely over. It’s on sight for that person. I’m telling you On Sight!
Oni can purr loud enough to the point where it rumbles in them like a motor and that’s how cubs feel their parents’ purring. Then there’s baby Oni just babbling and the adult Oni just pretend to have a whole conversation with them. Don’t get me started on them playing soft flute music to help the toddler Oni sleep.
We probably only got a few words out of Omega when they first appeared because we were hearing them through human ears. Lloyd’s Oni brain would click on and translates what he knows while Garm in full Oni form can get full sentences out of Omega.
Oni are willing to learn a different language if it helps others understand them and their intentions. Now let’s just think of Lloyd connecting to his Oni side of the family (since let’s face it, the Oni are going to be around longer than most of his friends are) through teaching them sign language.
They also try to teach him their Oni tongue but he can only grasp a few words at a time easily. When he finally learns the language, next thing you know he’s going to be cursing and only Oni will understand. Some (aka Mistaké) want to scold him and others (*cough*Garmadon*cough*) find it hilarious.
Garmadon’s Oni-Dragon hybrid brain wants him to decorate his significant others and now I think of Oni just sharing the precious items they hoard with their mate. Wait till they figure out they can make jewelry and have their significant other wear it.

Ninjago lloyd angst? Whatever you've got?
pwetty pwease? 👉👈
Ooh, you caught me right in time. I'm in the middle of watching Sons of Garmadon, so I wrote this!
this pain would be for evermore
"But, the good news is, you have us. And we will always be ready with video games, or pillow forts, or even just a hug when someone rips your scars back open."
Takes place after Dread on Arrival
•••
Lloyd knew he should be happy. After all, they stopped the resurrection of his father, he was finally reunited with his mother, and everyone was safe. But at the same time, his heart still hurt.
He had told Harumi to save her pleas for someone who cared, not wanting her to get any satisfaction from hurting him any more. But he...he did still care, even if it was in the tiny corner of his heart that still wanted to see the good in her and to believe that she wasn't all bad, he still cared.
"So, which one beat the crap out of you?" Jay asked, putting his hand on his shoulder, "was it the big one? Kilo?"
Lloyd honestly couldn't remember which one had wailed on him given the stress of what had happened after he was locked in a cage for…'how many times have I been taken by the enemy?' but Kilo sounded right. 'Definitely him or Ultra Violet. After all, Rumi didn't ever get her hands dirty.'
"I'm such an idiot," Lloyd voiced, finally letting out what he had been thinking, "I trusted her. I should've known she was evil with how invested she was in my father."
"Lloyd, it's not your fault-"
"Her parents died because of me, because I opened that fucking tomb," Lloyd swore before making eye contact with Jay, "she said I was too naive to believe no one got hurt that day. How many others?"
"What?"
"Everyone kept me from seeing the death numbers after The Great Devourer… how many others got hurt? How many people died because of my actions?"
"Lloyd, I-"
"Jay, just answer me." Lloyd pleaded with the lightning ninja, although he prayed that the number was two. That he wasn't as naive as she said.
"28. 28 casualties."
"So Rumi was right," he tried to keep back the tears, but failed miserably as his eyes started to sting, "this whole thing is my fault."
"Lloyd, you were a kid when it happened. We didn't think it was okay to burden you with the numbers."
"I was a kid when I terrorized Jamanakai Village. I was a kid when I released the Hypnobrai and the Fangpires. I was a kid when I made the stupid decision to let out Pythor," Lloyd took in a shaking breath before looking back at Jay, "The Great Devourer, The Digital Overlord, Morro, Rumi...it's my fault."
"Maybe I should get Zane, or Kai. They're better at-"
"No!" Lloyd shouted, holding his hand out in protest which made Jay stop short, "please. I'm sorry, for yelling, just...please stay."
Jay nodded, and wordlessly walked forward before wrapping his arm around Lloyd's shoulder, letting him relax against it.
Lloyd continued to stare at the sky, the words his father offered him in Hiroshi's Labyrinth years ago ringing in his head. 'He who holds the power holds a tremendous obligation.' He just hadn't expected that obligation to be keeping him from coming back.
"The hurt isn't ever going to go away, is it?" Lloyd finally voiced, seeing Jay's face out of the corner of his eye, "Rumi, I mean."
"You know, it's hard to say," Jay started, which led the younger of the two to raise an eyebrow, "As time passes, and you make your peace with it, it'll fade. But sometimes, something will remind you of it or someone will say something in passing like, oh I don't know, suggesting that sky pirates are invading Ninjago, and it'll come rushing back."
Lloyd nodded, the memory of Jay telling him about how he and Nya went from a tense friendship to a romance because of a Dijin clear in his head.
"But, the good news is, you have us. And we will always be ready with video games, or pillow forts, or even just a hug when someone rips your scars back open."
Lloyd smiled, a single tear running down his left cheek that Jay wiped away before he got the chance. "Thanks, Jay."
"No problem, Green Machine. You should probably get that scratch looked at though." Jay added, gesturing to his own face
At that particular moment, his left cheek chose to throb, indicating that the scratch Jay was talking about. "I will."

Who wants some Ninjago angst?
@ezlikessharks I thought that this would take more time, but um, it just kinda happened. lol I started it so that I would have some idea of where to go and I blinked and had not one, but two versions of this story. So the first version is above the keep reading line. The second one, if anyone is interested is the same, but with my OC Daniella added to it because she is Lloyd’s twin sister. And Misako abandoned her too.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy it!
Based on this post
                 Misako walked down the halls in search of her husband. After Lloyd and Garmadon had come back from a walk outside, Garmadon made himself scarce. Misako wondered what the two had talked about that had upset him. She walked past his study, then backtracked when she realized the dark figure on the balcony was his.
               Standing in the doorway, she knocked on the open door. He turned to see who was at the door, before huffing and turning back around without a word. Misako frowned at his action but moved to stand next to him none the less.
“You’re unusually quiet,” she observed, staring out into the setting sun.
“I have no words,” he replied shortly.
“No words? What is bothering you my dear? Did someone say something to you in the village?” she asked, looking towards the village nearby.
“It is what our son said to me.”
“What did he say to you that upset you so much?”
“That you left him,” he replied before turning and walking to the other side of the room. Misako blinked as she played the sentence over in her head, trying to process what significance it held.
“Why does that upset you? It was for his own good. Darkly’s was the safest place I could think of.”
“So instead of raising our son, you decided to drop him off on someone else’s door step while you whisked away to go adventuring with your little club?” Garmadon asked, turning back to face his wife.
“I was trying to find a way to prevent the Final Battle. So that you would stay safe, and that Lloyd wouldn’t have to fight you!”
“Oh, so now you know prophecies so well that you knew he would be the one to face me when he was still in diapers?”
“I knew it was a possibility. Besides, Wu found him and took him in,” Misako answered, crossing her arms.
“After he was sent away from the, quote, “safest place” for not being evil enough. After he released the Serpentine and nearly was killed by Pythor. Do I need to mention the Great Devourer?” Garmadon asked, his voice steadily rising.
“How was I supposed to know that would happen?” Misako asked, her voice shaking.
“It could have been prevented if you had just stayed!”
“Oh, you’re one to talk. You were in the Realm of Madness way before I sent him to boarding school.”
“You think I wanted to be away from my family? I am not proud of the things I did, but I had the venom of the Great Devourer running through my veins, I had no choice. I was banished to the Realm of Madness for things that I could not control. You had control of your fate! You could have stayed! What was so important that you had to abandon our only son?” Garmadon countered.
               Misako gasped as Garmadon’s voice raised to a yell. She had not seen him this mad in a very long time. He was breathing heavily as he let out his anger. She took a step back as he tried to calm himself. Misako looked down to the ground as she tried to come up with a reason to have left Lloyd at Darkly’s. She had told herself that it had been for his own good, that it was better this way. But what if she was wrong?
“I’m sorry,” she apologized, looking at her husband in defeat.
“It’s not me you should be apologizing to,” Garmadon replied in a soft voice.
               Misako watched, speechless, as her husband turned and walked out of the room. Leaving Misako to think about what she had done to her family.

“I knew it was a possibility. Besides, Wu found him and took him in. He looked after Daniella like she was his own,” Misako answered, crossing her arms.
“After he was sent away from the, quote, “safest place” for not being evil enough. After he released the Serpentine and nearly was killed by Pythor. Do I need to mention the Great Devourer? And as for Daniella. That sweet, innocent child was left without a mother to scare away the monsters. Yes, she needed Wu for guidance, but she needed her mother to protect her from the world. A world that is constantly trying to snuff her out because she is different,” Garmadon asked, his voice steadily rising.
“How was I supposed to know that would happen?” Misako asked, her voice shaking.
“It could have been prevented if you had just stayed!”
“Oh, you’re one to talk. You were in the Realm of Madness way before I sent Lloyd to boarding school. And we talked about taking Daniella to Wu anyway.”
“You think I wanted to be away from my family? I am not proud of the things I did, but I had the venom of the Great Devourer running through my veins, I had no choice. I was banished to the Realm of Madness for things that I could not control. You had control of your fate! You could have stayed! You could have raised them with Wu! Kept the twins together! What was so important that you had to separate the twins? What was so important that you had to abandon our only children?” Garmadon countered.
               Misako gasped as Garmadon’s voice raised to a yell. She had not seen him this mad in a very long time. He was breathing heavily as he let out his anger. She took a step back as he tried to calm himself. Misako looked down to the ground as she tried to come up with a reason to have left Lloyd at Darkly’s, why she had left Daniella with Wu. She had told herself that it had been for their own good, that it was better this way.

'Bandages come in many ways. There are gauze bandages, treating all kinds of wounds the Ninja may have. There are bandages used to prevent injury in Martial Arts. What P.I.X.A.L. is wondering, is that if mankind has a bandage for the heart.'
@ninjago-angst-week am I late or what? Sorry but I think spewing out 21k words over teh course of 3 days killed my motivation. It took 3 days just to write 6.1k words.
Summary:
P.I.X.A.L. notices that the store of bandages is running low. She thinks about all the times she had to use them on one of her teammates, and its purposes.
“Hey Pix! We’re running low on bandages. Can you help us order some before we go to Shintaro?” Nya’s voice came from the medical bay of the Destiny’s Bounty. The Ninja and Master Wu were going on a trip to Shintaro. Unfortunately, Pixal never got an invite, but she has long been used to being left behind. It’s not that it was a bad thing, per se. Pixal knew the importance of having a backup, and having someone watch over Ninjago whilst the Ninja were gone. Still, to distract herself after placing a digital order, she thought about anything that could distract her. That thing just happened to be about bandages.
Bandages. Neat, white little things that wrap around any land or sky creature. According to Wikipedia, a bandage is a piece of material used either to support a medical device such as a dressing or splint, or on its own to provide support to or to restrict the movement of a part of the body. When used with a dressing, the dressing is applied directly to a wound, and a bandage is used to hold the dressing in place. Other bandages are used without dressings, such as elastic bandages that are used to reduce swelling or provide support to a sprained ankle. Tight bandages can be used to slow blood flow to an extremity, such as when a leg or arm is bleeding heavily.
At first, that was all P.I.X.A.L. knew about bandages. Given that she was built with the main purpose of being Cyrus Borg’s assistant, her primary knowledge consisted mostly of the ins and outs of Borg Tower, emergency protocols, customer service skills, and basic first aid, given that her maker was frailer than your average Ninjago citizen.
Of course, the longer she worked under Cyrus Borg, the more she learnt about the medical field. Curious about Mr Borg’s special circumstances, she was permitted to look through the internet for more information. In no time at all, she learnt about surgery, prosthetics, all different kinds of medication, and how to diagnose illnesses. In her given free time, she studied all the information available on the internet about the medical field. Even though the information was useless to her, an android who had no physical weaknesses like the humans do, her system determined that whilst the knowledge was a bit excessive, it only helps to prepare her to care for Mr Borg.
She never really needed to apply all that knowledge about serious and fatal cuts, but when Borg gets even the slightest injury, P.I.X.A.L. was there to offer her assistance.
A year after she had been created, Cyrus Borg had offered her to take a test of the field in medicine. P.I.X.A.L. had immediately felt lighter and better somehow. When asking Borg why she was feeling this way and if robots could get sick, Borg had laughed in surprise and shock.
“That feeling is happiness, P.I.X.A.L.! It’s an emotion that all living creatures feel, you included.”
“But I am not living-“ Mr Borg cut her off.
“Technically, you are right, P.I.X.A.L., but you are intelligence, and intelligence is what defines life. You can adapt, change, and overcome as all living beings do. Don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise! Because that would be an insult to my intelligence!” Cyrus Borg said encouragingly. “And robots can technically get sick, from a digital virus. But I created you to be strong, stronger than I ever will be. You should not have to worry about them.”
P.I.X.A.L. nodded her head to show her understanding. “Then I will go to the exam.”
P.I.X.A.L. didn’t pass on her first try, but Mr Borg told her that it was alright, given that she still did very well considering that she only had the free internet to look for answers to a test she was unprepared for. It was human for her to have failed.
“So why did you send me there with no preparation?” P.I.X.A.L. asked with a shaking voice.
“To prepare you for failure, my dear!” Cyrus Borg said patronisingly. “Since I’ve built you, you’ve been perfect in many, many ways. And that isn’t a bad thing! But life isn’t that simple. You may fail in one way or another in the future because like humans, the circumstances may not be what you desired and plans can fall apart due to errors. What I want you to know is how failure feels like, and I will help you recover from it.”
P.I.X.A.L. nodded. It won’t be long before she faced her first, real big failure.
- Lloyd - The first time she had to really apply those skills that she learnt was when the team had seen Lloyd in the village. After he was pulled out of the ocean because he had to escape from an exploding plane that the Digilord had trapped him on. The locals had wanted to help, but Lloyd wasn’t feeling like having strangers cut him up, so they offered him some basic and outdated medical supplies.
P.I.X.A.L. could see him trying to treat himself and to stay awake, and she could see him hiss as the alcohol drizzled on his wounds.
“LLOYD!” Kai shouted in a tone that conveyed panic. This made the young ultimate spinjitzu master look up from his handiwork and immediately break into a smile. As the team had rushed forward to greet him, P.I.X.A.L. could see that his shoulders were sagging, probably from relief.
“I’m so sorry that I got caught guys,” Lloyd wheezed with an apologetic smile before keeling over, to which Cole caught him with shaking hands.
“Oh god, Zane, quick, do your thing!” Kai panicked even harder, hands jittery as if he was in an internal debate about whether he should do something or not.  “I’m trying Kai! I just- my hands keep shaking for some reason!” Zane gritted his teeth in frustration. “I’m gonna run some diagnostics on him” “Okay, Cole, lie him on a flat surface- medic! Medic!” Nya screamed out.
It was at this moment that P.I.X.A.L. knew that was her chance. To repay Zane for his heart. To prove to the team that she was useful. To finally implement her knowledge. Sometimes, she wonders if she’ll ever have what Zane has with the other humans, but for now, she is glad that she can separate her emotions from her work.
“Let me handle it,” P.I.X.A.L. said authoritatively. Running a scan with her own diagnostics, P.I.X.A.L. isolated the most dangerous injuries before telling the group out loud, staring at her apprehensively.
“Master Lloyd has suffered a concussion, lung damage due to smoke inhalation, and fractured bones in his tibia. He also has a sprained ankle and several bones on his upper chest area have several bruises. Luckily, there is no internal bleeding. He also has some first and second-degree burns, but those look like they have been treated by the ocean water. However, he is at risk of hypothermia should he not change out of those clothes. Other cuts and bruises should not be life-threatening as long as we keep the infection away, and-“
“WE GET IT! Can you just PLEASE start treating Lloyd NOW?” Jay shrieked in frustration. P.I.X.A.L. blinked. Oh right, the ninjas are still panicking.
“Apologies, can I have a look at the medical supplies?” Taking a scalpel out of the medical box, P.I.X.A.L. removed Lloyd Garmadon’s shirt and so multiple bruises as well as the look of someone who’s emancipated. It didn’t really make any sense to her, but she supposed that being drained of his elemental powers must have caused some damage.
“To treat his concussion, he needs peace and to rest. I would like if all of you can speak in whispers from now on,” P.I.X.A.L. began. The soup suddenly looked ashamed and guilty, with Jay whispering a soft ‘sorry’.
“To treat his hypothermia, we would need blankets-“
“Why can’t I just warm him up with fire?” Kai cut across. “Well, the extreme heat can damage the skin or, even worse, cause irregular heartbeats so severe that they can cause the heart to stop. However, starting a campfire some meters away could help a little. using this fire, we can make some warm beverages and some food.”
“Just say what we gotta do doc, we’ll listen!” Nya begged swiftly. P.I.X.A.L. thought for a moment, before choosing to sort people out based on their perceived abilities.
“Kai, Jay, Cole, Sensei Wu, and Sensei Garmadon- please look for blankets in the village and start a campfire over there,” Pointing at a spot a satisfactory distance from Lloyd, P.I.X.A.L. continued with giving instructions. “Start making some sort of soup- not too heavy. Zane, Nya- you’re with me.”
Garmadon, who was silent all this time, started to protest. “I cannot leave my son, Pixal.”
“Fine, you may stay and just keep tending to the campfire,” P.I.X.A.L. conceded, not wanting to waste time arguing. There was the matter of fact that the smoke inhaled by Lloyd Garmadon could be fatal, but there was not much that she could do in his location. All she could hope to do was to treat his minor injuries before ensuring that Lloyd is stable enough to go to a hospital in Ninjago. Which would have been impossible, given that the Digilord had control of the city already. What could she do? Maybe there’s an elemental master of the air who could treat Lloyd?
“Pix, do you not have any ideas on how to treat the smoke inhalation?” Zane looked at her with kind and understanding eyes. Pixal nodded, defeated, before preparing a cast. “We need concentrated oxygen and a nose tube or a tube down his throat. Unfortunately, there is nowhere in Ninjago where we can get to such technology.”
Hearing this, Nya immediately perked up. “But we can make them. Zane, do you have any wires that you can spare for a bit?”
“Redirecting power from the right hand,” Zane replied as he opened up his arm to take out a tube. He’s so self-sacrificing. For some strange reason, P.I.X.A.L. felt her heart beating faster. Maybe Zane was nervous? “Nya, if you could please clean this?”
“Of course. HEY KAI!”  “Yeah, sis?”  Nya was looking at P.I.X.A.L. expectantly. Oh yes. she was supposed to know this, wasn’t she? “Can you get us 10 cups of potable water and 1 cup of vinegar? Also, get some detergent or soap.”  “Okay Pix, not gonna question this at all!”
Meanwhile, Nya was using pure H2O to just start blasting the tubing As much as they wanted Lloyd to not die from smoke inhalation, they also didn’t want him to be infected. Speaking of infections…
“Ow!” Lloyd woke up sleepily as Zane used one hand to dab his cuts. Looking sheepish, Zane immediately offered an apology before Nya cuts in and admitting her mistake.
“Go back to Lloyd,” Nya said, petting his hair. Once Kai had returned with the necessary materials, Nya sanitised her hands before delicately cleaning the tube with 10 parts water and 1 part vinegar.
Tightening the wrappings around Lloyd’s ankle, Pixal studied her handiwork. The splint was holding up nicely against Lloyd’s leg, and all the infections on Lloyd’s legs were taken care of. Seeing as Zane is treating Lloyd well enough, P.I.X.A.L. immediately began to start diagnosing Lloyd’s burns before seeing blood flow from Lloyd’s back.
“Oh, dear.” In her hast, P.I.X.A.L. had forgotten to check Lloyd for injuries from behind. Maybe she wasn’t as professional as she thought. There was no other choice. Looking at Zane firmly, they pushed Lloyd onto his side as he gave a pained groan.
P.I.X.A.L.’s mechanical heart sank. Lloyd had a reason for sitting up without any support. There were several pieces of debris stuck to his back, and they were all pushed in due to them lying Lloyd on the desk. Nya looked up from her task in horror.
“I’m so sorry Lloyd, I didn’t know-“ “Nya, please focus on your task,” P.I.X.A.L. cut her off before she could begin crying. She felt bad, but what’s done was done. Blocking Lloyd from’s Nya’s view, P.I.X.A.L. picked up a pair of tweezers before picking up the small pieces. But the large piece of metal stuck in his shoulder blades- Pixal had to cut Lloyd’s skin to get that out. Eyes narrowing, hardening her resolve- P.I.X.A.L. lightly cut Lloyd’s skin using the scalpel before pulling up a long shard of bloodied glass. Picking up some of the unused water, P.I.X.A.L. quickly cleared Lloyd and the flat-surfaced of their blood. Applying pressure to those wounds would be hard from this angle, so after disinfecting the openings, P.I.X.A.L. took several rolls of bandages before tying them around Lloyd’s chest. Not too tightly, that would further bruise his ribs- but tight enough to ensure a sense of security and staunch the oozing bleeding.
“Zane, do you have an oxygen filter?” Nya asked, having been satisfied by the cleanliness of the tubing. Sanitising her metallic hands, P.I.X.AL. heard Zane sigh before declining.
“I do. Mr Borg wanted us to be at least a little environmentally friendly, given that the Nindroids would be using large amounts of energy every day. So I can filter out excess greenhouse gases in the air and store them in their solid form before giving the raw materials back to Borg Industries,” P.I.X.A.L. offered.
“You’re a lifesaver Pix,” Nya said in relief, handing P.I.X.A.L. the tubing. P.I.X.A.L. smiled. She supposed that she actually was. Opening Lloyd Garmadon’s mouth, P.I.X.A.L. inserted the tubing down his throat with NIndroid precision. Connecting the end to her oxygen filter, P.I.X.A.L. adjusted the settings so that she was inputting air composing of at least 60% oxygen into young Garmadon’s lungs.
As Zane finished applying some frost to Lloyd’s burns, the 3 of them stood there and watched as Lloyd breathed in and out.
“If you guys don’t mind, I’ll go find what the guys have been doing,” Nya informed their group. “I too will go into the village, but to ensure that we have permission to stay here for the night,” Zane stated, giving a nod to P.I.X.A.L., before walking away into the dusk, right hand locked and useless.
P.I.X.A.L., knowing that she can’t really move, sat next to Lloyd Garmadon as she watched the campfire grow as shrieks from the ninja team rose. At the end of today, all P.I.X.A.L. wanted to do was to just shut down and recharge. She knows she doesn’t need to know that she had half of Zane’s heart (which just skipped another beat for some unknown reason), but all she wants was a break.
Too bad that being a ninja means that you don’t really get to choose when to stop. P.I.X.A.L. thought to herself.
But at least today, I’ve proved my usefulness. I can repay Zane for his heart.
- Kai - Having been stuck alone, disassembled and scrapped, P.I.X.A.L. found that she really, really missed the Ninja team. She also missed Zane, though he was in a cell next to hers. He’s been offline for such a long time, P.I.X.A.L. had fears that he would never wake up.
But he did. And the ninja had rescued them from Chen. But along the way, they had lost Sensei Garmadon, and the year apart had caused some major issues.
Kai doesn’t know that they’re here. But he shouldn’t be here either after Zane had ordered that everyone go to rest after this long day. Still, the glint of red from his eyes even scared P.I.X.A.L., but she would never tell anyone that. She watched as Kai shredded the bandages he wrapped around his hands by destroying a metal training dummy, before turning around to wrap some more.
“Why is he doing that?” P.I.X.A.L. wondered from inside Zane’s head. Zane started whispering, “He… has some anger issues.”
“I get that Zane, I mean why’s he wrapping his hands in bandages?” P.I.X.A.L. corrected herself. Zane quirked an eyebrow but continued with answering P.I.X.A.L.’s questions. “Well, martial artists wear hand wraps and bandages because they can prevent injuries and improve the power of their punches. Wraps and bandages also protect the martial artist’s skin and soften the impact on hard surfaces.”
“I see,” P.I.X.A.L. stated whilst both of them cringed, as Kai delivered a particularly hard blow to the metallic dummy that Zane was supposed to fight with.
“KAI, PLEASE SHUT UP!” came Jay’s voice from down the corridor, moving closer towards them. Zane and P.I.X.A.L. watched in apprehension as Kai breathed heavily, staring down the metallic dummy before all the tension from his shoulders sagged.
The Nindroids watched as Kai cleaned up the training room and head out to use the bathroom to wash up.
“He’s being too hard on himself for the death of Lloyd’s father,” P.I.X.AL. commented blandly. Zane shifted from his position. “I’m afraid that that’s not the only reason. Do you remember Jay telling us that Kai had almost killed both Lloyd and Skylor using Chen’s staff?” P.I.X.A.L. stayed silent.
Bandages come in many ways. There are gauze bandages, treating all kinds of wounds the Ninja may have. There are bandages used to prevent injury in Martial Arts. What P.I.X.A.L. is wondering, is that if mankind has a bandage for the heart.
- Jay - It was only a few days after Master Wu had been lost in time. Whilst the Ninja team were recuperating and in shock, Pixal has been remotely using Samurai X to patrol the cities whilst maintaining in the current Ninja’s headquarters- the electronic system of Yang’s temple. P.I.X.AL. had really wanted to go full into Samurai X, but she knew that she could not just desert her teammates at this moment. But there wasn’t much she could do, other than counting reps for Lloyd. (You skipped a number, I know what you’re doing Pix, and I ain’t gonna stop training-) helping Jay prepare breakfast (Jay! The pancakes are burning!) or accompanying Zane as he retrieved bits and pieces from all the fighting. (Someone has to clean up Ninjago city, and I guess that that would be me and Samurai X.)
P.I.X.A.L. knew that she shouldn’t be keeping Samurai X a secret, but she couldn’t help herself. She felt a strange sense of duty, and the ability to finally be on the front lines, fighting the same enemies as Zane. And she wanted some secrets to herself.
Still, it surprised her when Jay had demanded her full attention during one of her free times.
“Hey, umm… Pix? Do you- do you think you could maybe check out my left eye?” Jay stammered whilst twiddling his fingers. Pixal was curious, but she’s already moved to Jay’s laptop. “Why do you ask so? Did your eye get hit sometime recently?”
Jay had flinched at the word ‘hit’, but shook his head at the word ‘recently’. Huh. Maybe it was phantom pains? Still, Pixal had run a diagnostic on it.
“I can’t seem to find any physical abnormalities, but if this is a case of phantom pain, over the counter pain relievers should work.”
Jay nodded whilst his eyes were blank seemingly off to another world or lost in his memories.
“Jay? Jay, can you hear me?” Pixal once again ran a diagnostic scan. It seems that Jay was slipping into dissociation. Dimming the lights in his room as well as all the screens the blue ninja had put into his room. Pixal started playing a calm Ninjago lofi mix from the speaker she was in. She gently called Jay’s name and he slipped back into reality.
“Jay, just take 2 doses of ibuprofen. They’re at the lowest shelf at the kitchen counter. If it hurts again, tell me and we’ll bring you to a professional.”
Jay who was nodding at the instructions froze at the thought of being taken to the hospital. Still, he slid off his bed and made his way downstairs. Pixal filtered through the electronic system of the temple, landing new the smart fridge and watched as Jay swallowed 2 pills dry.
It seemed to create some results because Jay stopped shivering and shaking. Pixal wondered if that was just a placebo or an actual effect. Still, watching Jay’s face relax in bliss, free from whatever pain that was bothering him, Pixal knew that she made the right call.
- Nya - S9, fight with SOG
It had been brutal. Pixal was just treating the training injuries Lloyd had when Skylor came into the noodle house, helping Nya to walk as her left arm dangled without any purpose. Immediately, Pixal stood up and took quick strides, scanning Nya for all her injuries.
“We were getting supplies when a bunch of Harumi’s goons jumped on us, we had to be quick so that none of them could call up for back up, when-“  “When- fuck, when this dude pulled out a fucking gun,” Nya said, pained and heaving as Skylor slowly helped her to sit on the training mat.
“So you were shot?” Lloyd’s voice came from behind Pixal as he took the medkit to the mat. Nya eyes looked everywhere but at him. Gesturing to her limp and bleeding arm, she gave up all her dignity. “Yeah, right here.”
“Okay, Nya, here, take these.” Lloyd handed her 2 tablets of ibuprofen and a cup of water. “W-what? No, I can’t take these!” Nya hissed in pain.
“Yes, you can!”  “What if we need them later? What if one of us loses an arm or something happens where we have a worse injury?” “That does not matter, Nya. Look, I’ve been shot in Ninjago city before, I know how it feels.”
Pixal immediately flashes back to the nights where she had to help Lloyd through a computer screen, and her metallic fingers curled up. It was horrible, watching him choking down painkillers before trying to pull the bullet out himself. Never again.
“Nya, it would be alright, just take these- we can always go out to get more,” Pixal tried coaxing Nya to just swallow the pills.
“Take them or I’ll force you to take them, Water Ninja.” Skylor admonished. With the combined strength of their motley crew of 3, Nya hesitantly reached for the medicine, almost choking as she had swallowed too much water at one go.
“Okay, good, now we just need to pull the bullet out,” Lloyd reached into the medkit, pulling out a pair of tweezers. Pixal watched as his hands, fatigued from all the trains, couldn’t stop shaking.
“Wait, Lloyd, let me see if the bullet should be removed at all.” Pixal interrupted, taking a more in-depth scan at Nya’s shoulder. In the meantime, Lloyd started to check through Skylor, who said that he was all clear except for a few knuckle bruises. Of course, Pixal would check on her later, but now she had to make sure that Nya would be alright.
“The bullet has missed your major arteries and it actually isn’t in too deep, possibly because of the protection offered by your suit-“ “Just tell me when you’re gonna remove it!” Nya snapped as her brow furrowed in anticipation.  “Well, let’s see… first, we need to remove the clothing around the area of the wound, which-“
“AHH!” Nya shrieked as Pixal twisted and pulled out the bullet without any warning. “Sorry Nya, sometimes fear of a thing could be greater than the actual danger that it poses,” Pixal explained as Nya stared at her with a look that could only scream betrayal.
Dropping the bullet to the ground, Pixal took up some disinfectant and sanitised the area around the entry wound. Nya hissed as Pixal gently presses a cotton gauze to stop the bleeding before finally applying some sort of disinfectant cream. She finished off the wound with a bandage around Nya’s arm, with extra padding using gauze at the point where the wound is at.
“Alright, so now you should not move this arm too much for the next few days, and in the next few weeks, you would not be able to raise it over your shoulder. But in a few months, you can use it again and in a year it would be pretty much healed up so that you may do your weight lifting sessions with- with Cole again…” Pixal said, starting brightly but dropping to a small whisper.
The mood suddenly went from cheery to depressive. “Remember to take lots of rest,” Pixal finished lamely. As Lloyd escorted Nya to the sleeping bags they had gathered, Skylor picked up the bullet Pixal had removed.
“Girl, you were quite mean back there,” Skylor began. “And I think that you’re cool. One problem- the pharmacies have not been able to continue business as normal. All the drugs have to be given to the Sons of Garmadon. In the meantime, all supply chains are disrupted. Over the counter medicine won’t be so easy to find. “
Pixal kept quiet. “Well, I’ll have to keep this bullet as a souvenir for Nya. FSM knows that she deserves this.”
Of course, the bullet would be lost later as they were hunted down throughout the city. But every time Nya changed into her swimsuit, Pixal could see the bullet wound. The scarring left wasn’t pretty, but Pixal thought that the courage Nya showed made her the most beautiful woman she’ll ever have the chance to meet.
- Cole-  Cole was alive. Cole was alive!
Pixal watched as the Ninja went into a momentary stop before cheering and becoming more alive. She saw Nya pass the Scythe of Earth to Cole, who promptly swung it into the oncoming Oni. Pixal was trying her best to fend off the Oni herself, but her mind, or rather, motherboard, was spinning really, really fast. How did Cole survive? It should have been impossible!
Pixal heard that Cole justify his survival, stating that the Oni clouds must have broken his fall. He didn’t know how he wasn’t attacked at first, but many tendrils then came to attack him.
Still, this was impossible for Pixal to figure out. Was it because Cole had been a ghost? Maybe it was his elemental power protecting him? Or perhaps it was divine intervention? Either way, Pixal was going o scan him later if there was even a later.
“Watch out!” Pixal saw a blast of green hit the Oni in front of her. I can’t afford to get lost in thought now! Come on Samurai X, focus! She chided to herself.
Yet, as the battle once again turned tides, and the elemental masters got together to do the Tornado of Creation, Pixal watched from her position behind the holding doors to see Lloyd Garmadon get thrown out of the tornado, hitting his head with an earth-shattering crack as he collapsed against the walls of the monastery before debris-covered him.
Frantically approaching him, Pixal saw out of the corner of her eye that the rest of the ninja were left dizzy, exhausted, and possibly some having passed out. That was alright. It was time for her to do her duty anyways.
However, whilst lifting slabs of concrete, Pixal felt her heart drop. The calculated survival rate of the impact sent shivers down Pixal’s circuits as the percentage just kept. Dropping. Lower.
Heaving the last piece of concrete off the young bearer of green power, Pixal heard her teammates rushing into the scene. She could have warned them, said something, said anything. But her joints were frozen in place with something much colder than what her sensors had detected when she went into the Oni cloud.
The motley crew, now only 5, took the last piece of debris off from their teammate.
“Lloyd. Buddy, wake up,” Kai pleaded, desperate.  “He-He's not moving!” Nya exclaimed, voice shaking as tears start to form. She looked at Pixal, asking for anything, anything at all.  “Someone find Wu. Where’s Wu?” Cole ordered.
In no time, Master Wu arrived and lifted Lloyd’s arm, checking his pulse. He would find nothing there.
“You can do something, right? Right?!” Jay panicked.  With a defeated look that Pixal knows is mirrored in her eyes, Wu shook his head and said, “There’s nothing to be done.”  Nya finally cries out, sobbing. “Oh, Lloyd!”
PIxal wanted to cry as well, but she never could. When rebuilding her body, she had used the same blueprints that Cyrus Borg had with some upgrades. One thing she didn’t consider adding was the ability to cry because there wasn’t any time. She had to save Lloyd from the vermillion. But what she can’t save Lloyd from, was from an early- early- d… fate.
There’s nothing Pixal could do. And she felt hopeless.
She watched from the corner of her eye as Garmadon backed away from their small group, and in a flash, she felt her wires burning. She couldn’t just let him leave. Not after what he’s done.
Yet, just as she was about to boost straight towards the Oni and tackle him off the mountain, Lloyd started to cough. Lloyd. Started to cough.
Whipping around to see a golden petal float away, she watched the team cheer as Lloyd started to breathe. How- this was impossible!  Pixal almost short-circuited from shock. There had been no way! No way! She didn’t even go through all 5 stages of grief yet.
And not too soon, Lloyd woke up from a sleep that she was sure that he never would.
Catching him mumbling something about the First Spinjitzu Master, Pixal smiled. Divine intervention had definitely happened at least once today. The first time being….
“Cole, please come with me to the med bay,” Pixal requested with a smile. Divine intervention or not, five-sixths of the Ninja team knows how to hide a serious injury, and she had to be certain. Cole, who looked shopped, resigned himself and walked with Pixal o the medical centre. For now, she trusted that Zane was doing all the scans that he could to make sure that Lloyd was right in the head, and sought out to take care of her own, albeit selfish, worries.
Scanning Cole on both sides, Pixal noticed a particular bad bruise on Cole’s spine. Yet falling from that height and the fact that Cole isn’t paralysed due to spinal injury made Pixal reaffirm her theories that the First Spinjitsu Master was alive, just in another realm.
“You know, Lloyd might have actually seen the First Spinjitsu Master,” Pixal began, which led Cole to choke on the water he was ordered to drink. “No way, he must have just hit his head hard…”
“I’m sorry Cole, but the injuries you have is comparable to sleeping on a rock hard bed for one night, not falling from a height of 500m, even if your fall was broken by the Oni cloud, you should still have been paralysed,” Pixal explained.
“So God is real and Lloyd’s sharing a fourth of his blood? Neat! Next time tell him to not scare us with a fake-out,” Cole brushed it off.
At this time Pixal was about the shutdown and delve deep into theorising. Lloyd technically had a fourth of his grandfather’s blood and possessed the same power, could he possible have powers that control life and death-
Yet, she watched as a steady stream of Ninja enter the medbay, and resolved her thoughts to her inner GPU. She can think later. For now, she had to make sure that everyone is okay, and everyone will be okay. Even if she threatens Loyd to shave his head so she can get a better look at his skull, to which a chase around the monastery ensued. Her family was alright for now, and the concerning mortality of humans was left deep in the recesses of her mind.
- Zane - Too soon, Pixal had to face her own mortality. Being a Nindroid, her lifespan would naturally be much longer than a Ninja’s. But she still could be erased, dismantled, destroyed, sent to another realm-
The days waiting for the group of 6, not 5, to come back were some of the hardest. Even though all Pixal wanted to do was to shut down, lie on her bed and stare into the picture they had taken on their first date, Pixal knew that the team was entrusting her to keep Ninjago safe. Even if it means recapturing escaped convicts. Even if it means fighting the… undead-dead Preeminent (Pixal still hasn’t figured out how she worked). And they had to find ways to reach the Never Realm, by going through different infusions of travellers tea.
Yet, all the waiting and longing was worth it. Pixal prefers a Zane stuck in another realm for 40 years as to no Zane. There was no other choice. Yet, as she sees her loved ones trudging out of the frosty realm, some of them had worst frost bites than others. Even though all Pixal wanted to do was to smother Zane in a hug, she can see the edges of Lloyd’s skin turning a deep, dark black. From the corner of her eyes, she can see Nya taking care of Cole whilst Jay and Kai attempt to remove the ice from everyone else, including lubricating Zane’s frosted joins. She had not a single moment to lose. This kind of frostbite was not exactly lethal immediately, but losing limbs could mean the end of Lloyd’s ninja career. So calling everyone to attention, she went all in to salvaging Lloyd’s limbs, doing everything she could.
Later that night, Pixal spotted Zane wandering around the outskirts of the monastery whilst the Ninja finish up dinner. She watched as Zane’s hands gripped the staff so tight that the wood would be snapping in 3…2…1.
A harsh crack and splinters flying out later, Pixal could see the shaking in Zane’s hands as he cursed, something that the Zane she knew never would.
For her, it had been a hellish week. But for Zane? It must have been a hellish 40 years.
“…Zane?” Pixal called out from the monastery doors. Zane immediately whipped around before pointing the tip of the staff towards her, to which Pixal reflectively grabbed. Zane, eyes widening in shock and horror, immediately released his grip on the now shorter staff, before turning around, trying to run away. Pixal won’t let that happen.
“Zane,” Pixal said once again, hand now gripping onto the collar of Zane’s Gi. “Please don’t run away from me.”
Zane, froze, hands twitching before dropping them to his side. Pixal released her grip before tapping Zane on the shoulder, asking him to turn around.
“Pixal, I’m- I’m sorry…I just can’t- I can’t trust myself right now,” Zane vented out hands fidgeting with each other. Pixal smiled sadly. She knew that not everything could go back to normal so fast, but still, she had hoped that it would have been easier than this. “If you don’t trust yourself right now, why not spend some time with me?”
“Pixal- I…I could hurt you-“  “Yes you can, but don’t think that I can’t protect myself,” Pixal snapped back whilst carefully reaching to hold Zane’s hands. Once she made contact, Zane flinched back, before slowly reciprocating the action. “C’mon Zane, let’s go back into the monastery-“
“No!” Zane protested, wrenching Pixal back. Pixal clasped her other hand on top of Zane’s. “Not to the dining room. I’m thinking med bay.”
Pixal could see Zane’s processing unit cycle through his thoughts, noticing that it had considerable frost damage. Before long, Zane nodded his head, allowing Pixal to pull him into the light.
Opening the cupboards, Pixal took out a few rolls of bandages before carefully wrapping them around Zane’s hands. The ice ninja watched with curiosity as Pixal carefully finished tying and tightening the strips of cloth.
“Why are you doing this? You and I both know that Nindroids don’t need bandages,” Zane asked. Pixal smiled, looking at Zane’s now steadier hands. “Maybe bandages can’t fix our metal skin, but it still makes us feel better.”
Zane paused, looking down at his hands. “I don’t know how you’re right PIx, but they do make me feel more sure that my powers won’t hurt anyone accidentally. Thank you.”
“You’re welcome. Now let’s get back to dinner, we have some desserts to bring out.”
Bandages. As much as PIxal uses them and finds them efficient, she can’t help but hope that team doesn’t need to use as many. But this time, t’s just a trip to a legendary city full of peace and prosperity. Maybe this time, Pixal doesn’t need to bandage their wounds away.

SOG!Kai? Tell me more
hmmmmmm, lets see., how about some angst??
Kai doesn't know about and cant use his fire powers. the other's always demonized the ninja, saying they used their powers for evil to hurt others and scare people into praising them, they especially played up how the red ninja was the worst, not caring for who they hurt with is viscous flames
so naturally when he accidentally unlocks his powers he shuts himself away, terrified of not only himself, but how he can hurt the others. As well as realizing that he is the red ninja, the most selfish, uncaring, evil person the gang have told him about.
Harumi convinces him that they didn't tell him trying to give him a second chance, to make him 'good'. And if he really wants to prove it he'll ignore those pesky ninja and dedicate himself to the mission of reviving Garmadon

Ok points for the Spy Kai AU that I want to expand on, but might not get to for a while because I’m lazy
-Instead of Chen sending all elemental masters after Nya, he sends Kai.  -This was the first time Kai actively fought (and nearly won) against the spell.
-Since Kai was the only one  who was sent out, the tournament lasts for a little longer than in canon.
-No jungle hunt means only Zane and Skylor have jungle gis. Not an important note persay, but it’s important to me that you know that.
-KaiSkylorfriendshipKaiSkylorfriendshipKaiSkylorfriendshipKaiSkYLORFRIE  -Or at least, Kai and Skylor friendship after Kai moves past the whole “I trusted you and you went behind my back” thing.
-Jay finds out that Kai might not be in the best headspace right now and he tries to help (I have an idea on how he finds out, but it’d be a little long to put in this post).
-Kai is taken along with Skylor after the Staff of Elements is broken.
-Garmadon has a one on one talk with Kai after the spell takes effect.  -Garmadon and Kai bonding? Garmadon and Kai bonding.
-Kai panicked after finding out Clouse had escaped the Cursed Realm and was tempted to ask to stay behind when they were sent to go after him.  -Lloyd of course offered to let him stay at the Bounty, but Kai’s stubborn and went with them anyway
-I haven’t finished the Dark Island trilogy since I stopped paying attention to it right before the third book came out like a fool, but there’s probably gonna be some angst

Adjusting
In which Garmadon needs to get used to his new life- a life evil-free.
Words: 621
A/N: gahhh, thank you guys so so much for all the love on my last fic! it made me so happy, and i’m so so glad you guys enjoy my writing! i hope y’all enjoy this one :)
Warnings: some angst, brief description of an anxiety attack
Being consumed by evil and living the majority of your life with that evil coursing through your veins was not always ideal. But for Garmadon, that’s how life was.
That is, up until his son saved him. But adjusting to that brand new life of feeling good and living life evil-free would not be the easiest thing.
It would take some getting used to only having two arms, after having four for so long. For instance, when Garmadon was making morning tea, the cup had slipped from his hand. Due to pure muscle memory, he went to catch it with a phantom third arm, and the cup crashed onto the floor. It broke into pieces.
It happened way more than he’d like to admit, and he remembers seeing Jay trying not to laugh after a time where Garmadon had just stared at the teacup as it shattered on the floor.
It would take some getting used to being friends with the ninja. There was no evil telling him to make their lives difficult, or no evil telling him to disturb the peace. It was an odd, but good feeling.
Jay and Cole thought the new sensei was a nice addition to the team. (Even if Jay would almost say ‘Lord’ instead of ‘Sensei’, then proceed to stumble over his words even more.)
Kai was a little weary around Garmadon, considering the many times they had fought. He would come around eventually, though.
Zane would allow Garmadon to assist him in cooking for the ninja, since he said he could use the help. Garmadon was a surprisingly good cook, and could make a mean plate of pancakes.
It would take some getting used to the nightmares he now had. When he was evil, he barely slept. Even if he did, he didn’t dream. It was all dark until he woke up.
Garmadon would have nightmares about hurting his son, hurting his son’s friends, hurting his wife, hurting his brother... the list goes on. They usually involve the Overlord, and how he was completely helpless as he watched the ancient evil brawl with his son.
Garmadon would shoot straight up out of a sound sleep, shouting out “No!”. Drenched in sweat, it would become increasingly difficult to catch his breath. His hair would be plastered to his forehead. His lungs would feel as though they were going to collapse. He could feel his heart beating loudly against his chest. He wouldn’t be able to stop himself from shaking and trembling. He wouldn’t even notice Misako next to him trying to calm him down. It would take an hour or two for him to finally settle back into a restless sleep.
It would take some getting used to bonding with his son. This one wasn’t too hard, though, nor was it a bad thing. Garmadon loves his son. Even when he was evil, Lloyd was the only thing he seemed to truly care about. However, it was odd. It was odd to finally have a semi-normal relationship with his son, but the two spent as much time together as they could. They’d spar, they’d watch movies together, they’d go on walks, or they’d just sit outside in a field near the monastery. They enjoyed the little things between them. Garmadon would also ruffle Lloyd’s hair at any chance he got, resulting in a long, drawn out “Daaaaaad!” from Lloyd, followed by the other ninja’s laughter.
It would take some getting used to this new life. This new life free of evil. This new life free of the devourer venom. This new life where he could bond with his family again. Garmadon was thankful for this new life, even if he needed time to adjust.

250-ish words of unedited never going to be finished Lloyd angst because...I’m not really sure don’t judge
TW for depression, suicidal mentions
(Seriously ^^ heed those warnings)
“Hey Lloyd? Are you still alive in there? It’s been like 3 days. Please tell me you’re okay.” Kai’s voice calls through the door. Lloyd wants to answer. He really does. But opening his mouth to speak required far more effort than he could muster right now. Instead, he curls in on himself, pulling the blanket tighter around his shoulders. Kai tires a few more times, and even goes for the doorknob when he doesn’t respond. Too bad Lloyd had locked the door.
He takes a shuddering breath, curling in on himself even more. What was wrong with him? He was the Green Ninja. He shouldn't be spending days at a time in bed, completely unable to function. He was a hero and a leader and a role model. Someone people looked up to. There were those who would literally kill to be him. To have what he had. He should be happy with his life.
He isn’t, but he’d never in a million years admit that.
Because how does he, Lloyd Garmadon, beloved hero and savior of ninjago, admit he can’t even get out of bed in the morning? How does he admit the idea of having to go out and be the hero makes him physically sick? That at this point he’d rather cease to exist than keep living as he was?
The short answer was that he doesn’t. His team needed a leader. The world needed the Green Ninja. People couldn’t know. He would rather not live anymore but that wasn’t an option.
He would just have to figure it out.

Ninjago Angst Week - Day 2!
@ninjago-angst-week
During S9, Amy is captured and held hostage by the Sons of Garmadon for a couple of weeks. Harumi is not very nice to her, and Amy quickly figures out why.
Warnings: angst (obviously), blood and descriptions of injuries, kidnapping, hostage situation, beating, knives, aggression, cursing and language (mostly mild, there is something more explicit but it’s brief), a death threat, negative thoughts, bad body image mention, mention of death, mention of past trauma, hurtful and degrading language, and I think that’s it
Anyways, enjoy!
~~~
The cell door slammed open and then shut again with a thud.
Amy sighed, letting her head fall back against the cold concrete wall. “You again…… what do you want this time?” She was sitting against the wall on the bare, blank cement floor, her hands cuffed behind her back (there was a cuff on her metal arm that kept it deactivated and put a damper on her powers).
Harumi stormed over and punched her in the face, throwing Amy’s head back into the wall.
Amy panted, trying to catch her breath as her vision started to tilt slightly. “Gonna start off this conversation with a sucker punch to the face, huh?”
The former princess’s fist cracked across Amy’s face again, drawing blood. “Shut up,” she hissed.
Amy wiped away what blood she could by rubbing her nose on her shoulder. “Well damn if you wanted a one sided conversation why didn’t you just say so?”
Another punch. This one breaking her nose, which was still healing from the first two breaks.
Amy used her shoulder to wipe away the blood again, biting back another snarky comment.
“He’s not coming for you.” Harumi crouched down to Amy’s level, glaring furiously. “Why would he? You’re an ugle, worthless piece of trash.”
Amy stared at her curiously for a second before letting out a short laugh. “Really? You came all the way down here just to punch me and lie to my face? That’s it? At least I tell people the truth when I’m being mean to them.”
The former princess’s words did sting a little, if Amy was honest with herself. Not too long ago, she’d told herself something along those lines about Lloyd and her appearance- metal arm, burn scars and all. She’d even believed it until Lloyd told her otherwise- what? a few weeks ago?. Plus, it had been she didn’t know how long in here, and doubt had started creeping into her thoughts- despite how much she knew the others were probably searching for her frantically at that very moment.
But she kept a straight face, not letting how much the words really got to her show.
The ex-princess folded her arms and raised an eyebrow with a scowl. “You don’t believe me.”
Amy shrugged. “Why should I? All I’ve ever heard out of your mouth is lies or a twist of the real truth. Not to mention you kind of pulled some backstabbing shit on my boyfriend while I was gone. I have absolutely no reason to believe a word you say.”
“I’m one of the few people here who can tell you what’s going on out there.”
“Doesn’t mean you’ll tell me the truth. Plus, you’re the reason I don’t know what’s going on out there for sure anyway. Ya know, isolating me and holding me hostage and beating the shit out of me while you’re at it.”
Harumi’s eyes narrowed. “What do you mean for sure?”
Amy said with another shrug. “Well, considering you marched in here like someone pissed on your cornflakes and sucker punched me in the face, it’s very likely that it’s because Lloyd did or said something that you and your buddies don’t like, and you haven’t caught him yet. But since haven’t seen a sliver of sunlight or been outside for a hot minute, I can’t be one hundred percent sure.”
Harumi’s glare bored into her.
Amy added, “Oh not to mention we all know how you feel about Lloyd and that those feelings are far from romantic or positive- so, I’m going to assume you’re beating the shit out of me to get your revenge on him.”
Harumi set her jaw, furiously clenching her teeth together. “You’re perceptive, I’ll give you that.”
Amy grinned smugly. “What can I say? As a former assassin I’m really good at reading people.”
Harumi yelled angrily, grabbing Amy’s collar and slamming her into the wall.
Her head swayed and her vision started to tilt from the impact, but Amy forced herself not to throw up (again).
“You got something to say?” Amy asked, “Come on, use your words.”
Harumi panted angrily, pinning Amy against the wall with one of her arms. She pulled out a knife and held it to Amy’s throat, her hand shaking.
The former princess hissed. “You’re right about one thing, I’d much rather punish Lloyd in person but if hurting you does just as much damage, I’ll take what I can get. In fact this is doing just as much damage, if not more- from what I can tell.”
Behind her back, Amy’s fists clenched so hard they started to shake. The image of Lloyd probably blaming himself for all of it, neglecting his own care, and running himself into the ground to find her wormed its way into her mind, and she quickly pushed it away.
She kept her face and expression calm. “When Lloyd finds you, he will kick your ass into the ninth circle of hell, and I’ll be helping.”
“No you won’t, Garmadon and I will make sure you’re dead before your pathetic boyfriend can even step one foot in this building.”
Amy said, “Killing me is the last thing you want to do. It takes a lot to get on Lloyd’s bad side- which, believe me, is not a place you want to be- and killing me is the fastest way to get there. It’ll bring out a lot of feelings from him you do not want to be on the other end of, trust me.”
Truth be told, Amy did not want to die again, and definitely didn’t want Lloyd to go through losing her again (especially while he had a lot of other stressful shit to deal with at the time). But she kept a straight face, and kept up the calm and indifferent facade.
She refused to give this girl the satisfaction of seeing her scared.
She added, “And Lloyd is far from pathetic. He’s done a great job of fighting you guys, even while I was gone. Not to mention he’s a pretty badass fighter even without his powers. Which are gone because of you, for the record. And even after you stabbed him in the back, he got up and fought back, so not pathetic at all.”
Harumi paused, glaring and clenching her jaw. She then moved the knife away from her neck, and quickly slashed across Amy’s torso, leaving a wide long gash.
Amy grunted, doubling over from the pain right before Harumi grabbed her head and smashed it into the wall. Amy dropped to the ground with a gasp of pain, her vision spinning and tilting as Harumi left with a violent slam of the door and harsh click of the lock.
