All about the middle blocker:

I have played volleyball for 5 years and I have been a middle blocker all 5 years, so I have a very good understanding of this position. The middle blocker has many jobs. They have to be able to get in the air fast to swing at the ball. As well as following the ball to put up a solid block, because the higher the level of play the more important the block becomes. The middle blocker is usually very tall and a very good hitter. I have attached a more in depth video explaining the middle blocker because this is a very hard position.

When Kei's and Tetsu's daughter is in her first year in High School things starting to get rough. Despite being the bubbly and pretty girl that she is, some classmates bully her for her legs.

They're "too long" and "make her look like a giraffe."

Both Kei and Tetsurou have a hard time cheering her up, but then Kei takes her out for a walk and starts talking about his time in high school and how he was called a "beanpole" or a "lanky stick".

And how he managed to make it into something positive - being the best middleblocker his age.

And when they're home, Tetsurou adds (but only after Kei left the room) that he totally fell in love with Kei's legs that time.

After this (and many more) talks their daughter starts being more confident.

One year later she stands on the court - middleblocker. And proud.

For the most part , Matsukawa liked to take things easy .   He was never the type to overexert himself when   ❛   GOOD ENOUGH   ❜   could suffice .   He didn’t think this made him an underachiever so much as a realist .   After all , there were things that already came easily to him , such as academics .

Volleyball , however , was different .   Matsukawa pushed himself above &&. beyond for his team , though perhaps not to quite such a severe degree as their captain .   He didn’t push himself because of any strong affection for the sport itself , but rather because of this peculiar COMPETITIVE STREAK he never knew he had until he started playing .   That &&. an unyielding fear of letting down his teammates .   They all put in the work to get to where they are &&. Matsukawa wasn’t going to be the one to hold them back for lack of effort .

A couple others had asked him to stay after practice to block for them , to which he happily agreed .   It was as good practice for them as it was for him .   His height advantage meant that his GREATEST STRENGTH in a game was blocking , which was why he ended up with the middleblocker position in the first place .   He had to do whatever it took to refine that skill so that he could keep his place amoung the ranks of such a prestigious powerhouse school .   He had earned that number two on the back of his jersey &&. he had every intention of keeping it .

It was only when Iwaizumi finally flagged him down &&. waved him to the benches that he realized how out of breath he was .   By the time he made it to the bench &&. sat down , his feet felt like lead &&. his arms burned so much they were almost NUMB , not to mention the sting of his palms .

❝      Thanks ,      ❞      he said on an exhale as he leaned back on his hands &&. felt the sweat roll down his cheeks .      ❝      Think I’m done for the day anyway .   I should probably take a shower &&. go home while I can still feel my legs .      ❞

Matsukawa tried for a little breathless chuckle as he lifted his already damp T-shirt to wipe at the moisture on his face .   It was lucky for Iwaizumi ; at the rate he was going , Matsukawa might have kept on until he physically collapsed from exhaustion .   He was just too far in the zone .

Isak ist der Shooting Guard des Basketball Teams der Brookwell Titans. Auch, wenn man es dem Sportler auf den ersten Blick nicht zutraut, ist er ziemlich intelligent und schreibt genauso gute Noten wie sein Bruder, ohne etwas dafür zutun (just like many things he does it naturally and without putting much thought into it. He‘s also kinda lazy and he doesn’t see the point in studying or wasting precious time. Das Leben ist zu kurz um nur über Büchern zu kauern). Sein Lebensstil ist genauso wie sein Mindset: carefree, easy going, without any worries or sad thoughts. Isak hat wirklich immer gute Laune und viel Humor.
