i'm (as long as things go to plan) going to be travelling up the us east coast from atlanta to boston next summer by rail! this means that i'm looking for suggestions of places to go whilst i'm out there!!

the current itinerary of places to stop/modes of transport are:

atlanta

washington dc (by amtrak from atlanta - i know it's long and slow, but it seems like the best route for me)

philadelphia (probably for a day, unless people have tons and tons of good suggestions for more)

new york

boston
