In the spirit of trying something new to get out of my art block, I decided to return to trad art and make a new zine!
As soon as I saw this post I knew that wanted to create something fun and inspired by my own relationship with My Chem's music. Which in turn led me to this idea :D
I hope you like it and if you see any spelling mistakes, no you dont 🫥
Also I'm including printable files for standard A-sized paper, so feel free to print out and fold yourself a copy of the zine!
A classic: the werewolf you’re head over heels for strings you along for half your life, and you’re dumb enough to still follow him. To be his doggy if you will
I had just completed and printed a bunch of copies of my first ever zine!!
The zine is titled "How to Make a Fursona: A guide for furries and non-furries alike (but mostly non-furries)" and it is basically a little activity book that encourages confidence building and self-expression through making a fursona for yourself!
I'm gonna be going around to a few different book shops in Toronto tomorrow to see if they would like a few copies to let people take for free :]
May sell them online in the future. Who knows. IDK what the demand for these would be :P
UPDATE: These are now available for free in the Glad Day Bookshop!
I gave them about 10 copies for people to take :D They are on a lil table by the entrance!
UPDATE 2: These are now also available in my online shop for $5 CAD each!
I'm partnering with the wonderful @void-flesh to bring you the My Chemical Romance Zine Challenge! Get creating with some DIY zine-ing and share your art and words with your friends! Use the tag #MCRzine or @mcrzines so that we can boost your work!
You can create a whole zine solo, or partner with friends for something collaborative :)
We encourage physical zines, but in order to make work accessible as physical copies even for people in places where shipping ain't cheap, we also encourage PRINT IT YOURSELF zines, with files set up for readers to print at home!
Some notes:
This is not a contest, or a time limited challenge! This is just to spark people's creativity!
Related to above: you don’t need to submit anything to us - these are your personal projects! - but we’d love to be tagged so we can see what you made and boost your work!
Polished and professionally printed zines may be cool, but we are encouraging more DIY kinds of work. It's okay if you just have sharpies, glue, and your grandpa's busted xerox machine! Or perhaps the copy machine at your school is unattended?
Wanna find more examples of others' MCR zines? At @mcrzines I aim to archive My Chemical Romance fanzine history through reblogs and sharing information. Feel free to take a gander! And @void-flesh is working on collecting and archiving physical zines, so get in touch there if you want to add your paper copy to the archive!

A queer thesis on the most hated character in Kamen Rider.

Lucky Likes is the little physical zine I make for my $5 patrons every other month. It's like when celebrities list their favorite things and it's all like $300 lip balm, except I will list things like "that one license plate I saw on the road". I release them digitally to other patrons 1 month early, and then to the public a month after that! Enjoy reading abt what I was up to four months ago!
I really love the little drawing of Venus I did on the intro page on this one!
