“Y/n had been my girlfriend for a long time now, and I want to change that. In this video, I plan on proposing to her. So, while we prepare everything, Chandler will distract her." Jimmy introduced the viewers to the video.

"Wait, why me?", Chandler asked.

"Well, we told Y/n that we want to prepare for a new 24 hour video and because we always keep forgetting something, she was willing to do the shopping. You need the longest in Walmart, that’s why you need to go. So, here is the money. Don't come back until it's dark. Go." Jimmy pushed Chandler out of sight.

Tareq was leaving with Chandler and they drove off to pick up Y/n.

"Hey Y/n, are you ready to go?" Chandler asked as she opened the door.

"Yeah, but I still don't understand why Tareq has to go, too. We don't have to torture him too.", Y/n looked at them.

"First off, you wanted to go, and secondly, Jimmy made the decision," Chandler pointed out.

"Whatever, let’s go." Y/n smiled and ran to the car.

The drive to Walmart was interesting. Y/n and Chandler kept singing wrong lyrics to random songs, while Tareq questioned his life choices.

"What do we need?", Chandler asked after they got their shopping cart.

"I'd tell you, but you would forget it and we would go through every aisle anyway."

"True." Chandler shrugged and walked in.

"Are you sure you want to come with us? It will take hours.", Y/n asked their cameraman.

"Yes."

"Well, take a last look at the outside world, because it will take a while until you see it again.", she joked and followed Chandler.

"So, while they are gone, we will prepare everything. I planned on decorating everything with these 10,000 flowers, because Y/n loves flowers and we also got the drones from the fireworks video just to... I mean, it wouldn't be a MrBeast video then."

Everybody cheered and started working.

"Some of you might wonder where we are.”, Jimmy said pointing at his surroundings. “We are at Jake's and Bailey's house, which they won here.", he explained, pointing at a random spot, so the editors will cut in the thumbnail. "I mean, we can't go to my house, because Y/n is still there, but we don't have time to wait, so let's get this video started. Time lapse."

"Can we get Cheese Balls?", Chandler asked excitedly.

"We are staying on a mountain. Why do we need-", Y/n stopped when she saw Chandlers disappointed expression, "You know what? It's Jimmy's money, so why not?"

Chandler exclaimed a "Yes!" and dashed away before Y/n could take them away again.

"We got everything we need, but I guess Chandler will take some more time.", Y/n said into the camera and signed when she lost sight of Chandler.

“While Karl and Chris are putting flowers up here, Bailey and Jake put the lights up over here.”, Jimmy explained what they were doing. “I’m trying to hide a few cameras, because I don’t want it to be obvious.I planned the video for a while now, but I’m only getting nervous now.”

A few shots of the boys working followed after that and some short clips of them doing stupid things.

"I'm going to call Chandler to ask him how much time we have left. I think they will be done soon, but we need more time." Jimmy pointed to his phone and pushed the call button.

"What's up, Jimmy?", Chandler answered.

"Where are you? How much time do we still have?", he asked as quietly as possible so that Y/N couldn't hear him, if she was around.

"We be at the checkout soon, but I'm hungry, so we will get some food after that."

"Okay, that should be enough. Call me when you are done eating."

"What did he say?", Karl asked.

"We have approximately an hour left."

"Perfect. That is definitely not enough time", Chris shouted further away.

“Not if you continue complaining.”, Jimmy yelled back.

"We are done!", Y/N shouted triumphantly, making people look at her.

It took them hours to get out of Walmart. They would have been out two hours earlier if Chandler hadn't gotten lost three times. 

"Can we get something to eat? I'm starving.", Chandler asked.

"Tareq, how about you?"

"Something to eat sounds nice."

"I guess I don't have a choice.", Y/n sight.

After a few minutes of discussion, they were finally able to decide where to eat. Unknown to Y/n, Chandler and Tareq were only debating about places that were further away from where Y/n wanted to be.

"So, what are you guys up to?", Y/n asked after they finished eating.

"What do you mean?", Chandler asked with a high-pitched voice.

"What do I mean? It's kinda of obvious. Normally, Karl would have loved to come with us, but he didn't. It also doesn't make sense that Tareq had to come with us. I mean, he had the camera out the whole time, but he wasn't recording most of what we did. We probably have ten minutes of material we could use. It wouldn't be enough to make an interesting video, so there must be other material too. Furthermore, I can understand that Jake and Bailey have plenty of room in their house, but we usually store the stuff for videos like that in our home. Lastly, Jimmy called you and not me."

"You knew that he called?"

"I saw you running away when your phone rang, so I assumed it was him, based on the other facts I mentioned. Call me Sherlock Holmes.", Y/n smiled. "I promise we won't tell Jimmy about it. Call him when we paid and ask if he still needs time. I don’t want to rune whatever he is doing."

"Hey Jimmy, how much time do you need?" Chandler asked him, after he picked up his phone.

"Around ten minutes. Where is Y/n?", he asked, while moving some decoration.

"Toile-", Chandler started, but Tareq grabbed the phone from him.

"Oh, she is coming. Hurry up!", Tareq whispered and hung up on him.

"Alright, we have ten minutes. I want you all to leave or at least hide until then, except for Bailey and Jake, obviously."

"Are you nervous?", Chris asked and put a hand on his shoulder.

"I guess. I mean, I don't think that she will say no, but still."

"I know how you feel. Concentrate on asking the question and not on what she will say. It will be easier, believe me. Do you have the ring?"

"Yes.", he nodded and took out the box.

"Good. You can propose to her, even if something ends up wrong. She will love it anyway. I mean, we are talking about Y/n.", Chris laughed.

"Yeah, you're right. "

"Alright, so we still have some work to do. You can do it, Jimmy." Chris gave him a thumbs up and got back to work.

“Do you think that was

believable?”, Chandler asked when he put his phone away.

“I hope so.”, Y/n smiled, relieved that she doesn't need to hide her laughing anymore.

When Y/n and her friends arrived at their destination, Jake, Bailey and Jimmy came out to help them with the groceries.

He stayed a bit behind with Y/n and asked, "Did you have fun?".

"I mean, at some point I sat in the cart and Chandler was running down the aisle with me... so yeah.", she laughed.

After they brought everything inside, Jimmy took Y/n out to the backyard.

"Jimmy? What is all this about?", Y/n asked and looked around.

The garden was full of flowers. They even laid out a path of flower petals and decorated trees with fairy lights and lanterns. The path was short enough to see the end, but nothing was there, which left Y/n confused.

"You will see."

Jimmy smiled and took her hand. Together, they walked down the path and stopped at the end.

"Jimmy?"

"Don't you think the stars are beautiful?"

"It's cloudy tonight, you can't see any-."

Y/n cut herself off when she looked up. The drones wrote a big 'Will you marry me' in the sky.

"Wait what?", Y/n asked, more confused than ever about what was going on, but when she turned back to him, her mouth fell open.

Jimmy was down on one knee.

"Well, you were my girlfriend for way too long, so do you want to be my fiancée instead?", Jimmy asked and smile at her.

His heart almost stopped, after the words left his mouth and Y/n's wasn't any different, when her hand covered her mouth.

"Yes! Yes, of course.", Y/n almost screamed at the sight.

“Yes!” He repeated, as he got up and put the ring on her finger.

"She said yes!", someone yelled and everybody came out of their hiding spots. 

"Wait, how many people are here?", Y/n questioned.

"Around like twenty.", Jimmy mumbled while hugging her.

"Congratulation!", Karl, Chris and Chandler yelled and jumped into the cuddle.

All of them spend the rest of the night in partying in the garden.

“We have to cut in random videos and pictures of us.”, Jimmy laughed at some point.

“Please don’t. This video is uncomfortable enough.”

Tales of Christmas Day 16 - cc!Karl Jacobs x gn!reader

We made it! It’s the last day of the 2022 edition of Tales of Christmas. I’m sorry if this one isn’t detailed enough, I kinda ran out of time 😅Thank you for coming on this journey with me and hopefully you enjoyed the festive imagines! I’ll probably take a little break over the festive period but I’ll still be working on stuff, I just probably won’t release anything for a lil bit.

At the start of the year, you made a New Year’s resolution to be in a relationship for Christmas. It was mid November and you had pretty much come to terms with the fact that it most likely wasn’t going to happen if it hadn’t already. However, your best friend was ready for a last ditch effort. 

“You could always pull a Dash and Lily” you sit up from your position on the couch to make sure she knew how stupid you found that suggestion. 

“Yes, b/f/n because writing a note in a book and it coincidentally being seen by someone my age actually works in real life” she rolls her eyes at your sarcasm before replying. 

“Then why not try it and prove me wrong? You’ve got nothing to lose if you think no one will see it” you knew she was saying that to get you to do it, but you couldn’t pass up the opportunity to be right. 

“Fine, if it’ll get you to shut up” her excitement makes you smile slightly. Although you knew it wouldn’t work, you still had a slither of hope. 

The two of you get to work soon after and it doesn’t actually take as long as you thought it might. She ends up suggesting you use a manga book since it was your favourite genre, and had the largest likelihood of attracting someone suitable (in her words at least). You decide to task the reader with leaving a bookmark with their favourite manga or anime written on it, to make sure they had good taste. Immediately after you’re done, she makes you drop it off at the library and inform the librarian of your plan. 

After a week of refusing to check it even though you were curious, you finally give in. Pulling out the book, you see something sticking out the top and see that someone actually responded. Not only did they give you answers to their favourite manga, they also wrote down their favourite anime as well as a task for you. You were tasked with going to your area’s MrBeast Burger and leaving what your favourite video game was, you wondered why they chose that location but you did as they asked. 

This back and forth continued for the rest of the month as well as into December and you had caught feelings, much to your chagrin and your best friend’s excitement. You knew an ‘I told you so’ was due any day now and you were not happy about it. 

Adding to your piling up emotions, Karl (as you had found out your pen pal’s name was) and you had agreed to meet at a specific café at 2pm today. Although part of you was excited to finally meet him after about a month, the majority of you was terrified. What if you didn’t like him? What if he wasn’t what you thought? Or worse, what if you did like him as much you thought?

By the time you calmed yourself down enough to prepare, you had to leave. Reaching the café at 1:52pm sharp, you walk in and survey the people sitting by themselves. As you’re doing so, you realise that you hadn’t even thought of the possibility that he mightn’t show up. What would you do then? You’re brought out of your thoughts by a guy about your age with fluffy hair coming up to you. 

“Are you y/n?” there was no way this was Karl. He was way too cute to even be near you, let alone asking to meet you. 

“I am. You Karl?” he gives you the prettiest smile you’ve ever and will ever see and leads you to a table. 

It was clear about 20 minutes into your meeting that he was exactly who you thought, but somehow better. The two of you got along great and you realised you had nothing to worry about, except the ‘I told you so’ from your best friend that you hadn’t received yet. 

“Do you want to go on an actual date nest time?” Karl asks you this as your meeting reaches it’s natural end. You quickly agree and you swap numbers so you’re able to schedule and continue talking. 

You weren’t sure how, but you actually achieved your New Year’s resolution.

However, the primary concern is to draft balanced regulations focusing on users’ protection but not halt innovation. Scammers Leverage Influencers’ Popularity Through AI Deepfake Videos  James Stephen Donaldson, the creator behind one of the world’s largest YouTube channels, MrBeast, shared his deepfake video on X (Twitter) to warn his followers about AI scams. He wrote: “Lots of people are getting this deepfake scam ad of me… are social media platforms ready to handle the rise of AI deepfakes? This is a serious problem.” The video tricks the viewers into believing that MrBeast is giving away the latest iPhone 15 Pro for $2. It asks the viewers to click a link, probably redirecting them to some phishing website. Věra Jourová, the European Commission’s vice president for values and transparency, believes there should be a solid analysis of the potential risk factors instead of paranoia while regulating AI. She told the Financial Times: “We should not mark as high risk things which do not seem to be high risk at the moment. There should be a dynamic process where, when we see technologies being used in a risky way we are able to add them to the list of high risk later on.” EU has been working on drafting an AI bill for the last two years. Notably, the bill would require mandatory disclosure of the copyrighted material used to train the AI models. The EU officials are expected to conclude their discussions on the AI bill by the end of 2023. But OpenAI, the parent company of ChatGPT, believes that the draft of the EU’s AI bill is over-regulating the technology. Moist Esports Although Moist Esports hasn’t been around for too long, this popular esports organization has already amassed a loyal fan base through its endeavors in the fighting game community, Rocket League, Apex, and, most recently, a new VALORANT roster. To be honest I always just figured that Karl and SNF hang out more then Karl and Dream because KWT both have INSANE schedules - Dream is the owner/manager of like 3 different companies at this point? And Karl is constantly on his feet for MrBeast shoots and his ten billion other projects and whatever else he does - SNF just have more flexible free time to come hang out then Dream does, I think.

I do agree that the TikTok was stupid and shouldn’t have been made - but I’m puzzled as to how Sapnap AND George appeared in it when they know how first hand much grief and suffering that song and the reaction to it hurt their friend :(

That one part of the MrBeast video (the "Last to Leave Roller Coaster Wins $20,000 - Challenge" one), where the two teams started complimenting each other instead of trash talking each other... And the one guy told Chris--I think it was Chris--"You have a really nice smile!", and he said, "Thanks! It's from my wife." And then they put these question marks above his head in the edit, and MrBeast said, "I think they've both (the teams) have gone crazy at this point" cracks me up every time I think about it.

I feel like he probably misheard what was said, of course (like, he probably thought he was being complimented on something other than his smile, like, say, his shirt?). But oh man, it's so funny.

Summary: during a MrBeast challenge video, reader gets tough news

You were already on day two of the last to leave the circle challenge, and you had to pee significantly worse than you’d think, and you were tired. So freaking tired. It was no lie that the boys had way more experience than you, given they all, for the most part, seemed pretty relaxed.

“Alright, I’ve decided to have mercy,” Jimmy stated as he and Chris stepped into the room, “you get your phones for ten minutes, and ten minutes only. This is mostly because Karl’s brother keeps calling him.”

Chris passed your phone over and you furrowed your eyebrows at the amount of messages that were grouped together. You unlocked clicking on it all from your best friend. You thought maybe she was having a meltdown over something, and you were going to have to comfort her.

And, she was having a meltdown, to a degree, but she wasn’t the one that needed comforting. You were, especially after you say the photo.

For a second you couldn’t process it, but you sighed screenshotting it, and sending it to the jerk himself.

Hope she was worth it, lose my number

You shut off your phone and looked to Jimmy hoping that your voice wouldn’t break, because if it did the tears would follow.

“Can I trade my phone time for the ability to go to the bathroom without getting out,” you asked and he furrowed his eyebrows but turned to Chris. His best assumption was that you just wanted to be able to pee and weren’t going to do so in front of Karl and Tareq or the camera.

“So, you would be there and back, and your phone would stay with us,” Chris asked, ignoring Karl and Tareq’s complaints, and you nodded. “I don’t know, I guess that seems fair.”

“Alright, phone,” Jimmy stated holding out his hand and you passed it to him, and he nodded. You didn’t hesitate to make your way to the bathroom.

You peed like you said you would, but you couldn’t help, the way you finally let the tears brim over now that no one could see you.

You didn’t know why it hurt so bad. Sure you’d be together for awhile, but you didn’t love the guy. Sure, you enjoyed when you hung out with him sometimes, and it was nice to be able to go home to him, but you couldn’t actually see yourself spending your entire life with him.

You didn’t have time to sit there and figure it out, though because there was a knock at the door. “Jimmy said if your not back in the next minute your disqualified.”

“Yeah, coming,” you said, wiping your eyes and looking in the mirror, the redness would probably give you away but there wasn’t much you could do.

“You okay,” Karl asked, and you just gave a small smile.

“Yeah, girl stuff,” you lied, waving it off and Karl gave you a sympathetic look and he went to move closer to you but you shook your head so he stayed.

And, now, with the image of the guy that you were dating at the beginning of the challenge and making out with another girl was seared into your brain, the challenge suddenly got a lot more difficult.

George and Sapnap got me feeling some type of way so here is a little rundown of their friendship

We don’t know the exact story of how they met, all we know is they first spoke around 6 years ago when Dream introduced them to eachother. That should arguably be awkward right? Your best friend bringing in his new other best friend to say hello. But no, Sapnap said they never had an awkward moment

There was then a time when even when they didn’t know eachother well, they were both vibing in a Discord call together to music and they didn’t realise that it was eachother that they were vibing with until afterwards

Then Dream said he was starting a YouTube channel. George was finishing university so even when he hadn’t started his own channel yet, he was helping Dream with his. Then Sapnap joined them

When George and Sapnap were first seen together in the first few videos, a lot of people thought they hated eachother. Tbh even I did, they were constantly at eachother’s throats and no one got it, all we knew was that they did it and that Dream was pretty used to it seemingly

I don’t think anyone truly understood what their dynamic was until 2 events took place

1. In the ‘Minecraft But We Are Stuck Together’ video on Dream’s channel. George and Sapnap were being wayyy overly nice to eachother all in spite of Dream, just because Dream told them to stop fighting so much

2. In that one stream when Dream had to act like a dad and put George and Sapnap in ‘time out’ because they were fighting too much

People began to come to the realisation that these little weirdos loved eachother just as much as they loved fighting eachother. It was their way of communicating with eachother and they genuinely got offended if someone tried to point it out as being a bad thing

There were times when they would push eachother’s limits, but even that turned into a funny memory for them: Aka the origin of the ‘everything’s a joke to you isn’t it’ inside joke between the Dream Team. For context, George and Sapnap were fighting whilst Dream was just watching, and Sapnap said something that was actually hurtful, so George went ‘woah what you just said was really bad it was actually mean’ and Sapnap said ‘it was a joke’ to which George responded with ‘oh yeah everything’s a joke to you isn’t it’. The call went into silence before the 3 of them burst out laughing and forgot what they were even arguing about, and now it’s a running joke

Despite the fact that their love language is physically murdering eachother, they both have their own little ways of genuinely caring for eachother.

Sapnap is wildly protective over George, 3 examples of this include

1. Anytime Dream is PVPing George and Sapnap comes to his rescue screaming ‘GET AWAY FROM HIM’

2. When a dono said ‘the things George says reminds me of a kid I’d punch in high school’ to which Sapnap moodily responded with ‘God you’re tough 🙄’

3. When Sapnap came onto George’s stream and the first question he asked him was ‘have you slept’

Then we have George who shows his love by constantly wanted quality time with Sapnap, again 3 examples:

1. When George stayed up until 5 am, 4000 miles away from Sapnap last year so that he could be on call with Sapnap when he turned 20

2. George never leaving Sapnap alone on his streams despite constantly threatening to leave because he’s tired

3. Them having a groupchat together called ‘comfy’ where they call just the 2 of them so that they can talk for hours about their lives

They’re such a cool duo and there’s so much I wanna talk about. Like how they both run to eachother in MCC even when they’re on separate teams so that they can do their weird role play. Or when they both got excited at the thought of sharing a bedroom and having bunkbeds together in Florida. Or when they randomly FaceTime eachother mid stream/when Sapnap was hiding in the MrBeast video/the last manhunt just because they wanna have a conversation with eachother separate from everyone else.

People often talk about George and Sapnap’s friendship as if they have no choice but to be friends because they both share Dream. When in reality, they choose to be that close with eachother. They could easily just go their separate ways after each manhunt recording and not speak to eachother otherwise but they don’t. Sapnap is flying other to England because he wants to see George. George is dropping everything to move to Florida because he wants to spend his life with Dream and Sapnap

“Did you guys find anybody?” Felix’s voice sounded out when the man repeated the same question for what seemed like the third time since he joined the call. The number of players showed 7 of them, which meant that they were still missing three people. Sure, they could start the game now, but it would be way more enjoyable and funny with a full lobby. 

“Yeah, Toast will be here any moment. “Sykkuno replied right away. “He just texted me; he should join us in a few.”

“Cool. Anyone else?” 

“I think Corpse was also supposed to join us, right? Not sure though why he isn’t here yet.” 

“Oh, yeah, Corpse will be here soon too!” Jack suddenly chimed in with an explanation. “He said he needed to take care of something first, but he’ll be here before we start.” 

“Great. But that means we’re still one person short.” Felix hummed when Toast’s little astronaut appeared in the lobby “Hey Toast."

“Hey man.”

“Do you have anyone coming?”

“I’m afraid not. I asked MrBeast, but he’s busy, so...”

“Well then, we can just start when Corpse is here, and maybe we’ll find someone in the meantime?” Dave suggested, earning a few hums of approval from the other players. 

“Yeah, I think that’s the best option...” Jack agreed. But then his voice blared out in everyone’s headphones with excitement. “Ha! Corpse is bringing someone!” 

“Who?” 

“I dunno, he just texted me he has one coming and that’s all.” 

“Hm, all right. Let’s wait then.”

Corpse fidgeted with his phone, glancing between its screen and the chat in his stream. People were already asking countless questions, but rather than answering them, he was waiting for Y/N to call him. He was nervous - the girl still hadn’t commented on his request. 

The idea to invite her to the lobby wasn’t spontaneous. In fact, he’d been thinking about it for quite some time now, but never found the courage to actually ask if she would like to join them for the game.

It’s been almost a month now since that memorable phone call. A month since Y/N last played with her friends; a month since she considerably reduced her social media usage. 

Sure, she was still active on her youtube channel, but not as much as before the whole haters situation. No matter how hard she tried to just ignore them and simply continue her career, she just couldn’t. There were still these nagging thoughts at the back of her mind, reminding her of all those people and their comments, their messages. It seemed like a good idea to take a short break and sort everything out.

Her fans understood it. They were obviously sad that her videos weren’t as frequent as before, but everyone knew what the situation looked like and that Y/N needed some time for herself. 

Her audience knew it, and so did her friends. Especially Corpse. 

The man kept his word and talked to the girl whenever she wanted to. Which, in the end, was almost everyday. Although at the beginning their conversations mostly focused on her current problem and dealing with it, their topics broadened over the time. 

At one point though, Y/N started worrying that maybe she’s annoying him with her so frequent calls. She thought that she shouldn’t bother him that much - even if talking to him was what really helped her cope with her problems. He already had enough on his plate, and sharing her own concerns with him suddenly seemed like a very selfish thing to do.

But she quickly realized how wrong she was for thinking like that. When one day she didn’t call, figuring out that she should stop troubling him with her own issues, she was very surprised when Corpse reached out to her himself. He expressed how worried he got when she didn’t call, and when she explained what was the reason, he spent the next fifteen minutes lecturing her that she should never think she’s bothering him. 

From that day on, they talked every single day. And they talked about almost everything.

Corpse enjoyed their late night-talks more than anything. He liked to listen to Y/N talk about the things she finds exciting, her hobbies, and her dreams. Hell, she could talk about what she ate for breakfast, and he would still listen with interest. 

And even though they haven’t seen each other in person, even though she still hasn’t seen his face, they managed to get really close during those past weeks. For an outside observer (who also didn’t have access to Twitter) they would seem like a couple of very good friends.

But not for Corpse.

He couldn’t pinpoint when exactly did it happen. They were talking one evening and Y/N was telling him about the TV series she had finished watching recently. He listened intently and watched as her facial expressions changed from excited to frustrated, as she was enumerating everything she liked and disliked about the series finale.

And then he suddenly got this weird feeling in the pit of his stomach, and simply couldn’t take his eyes off her. 

He tried to play it off and act as if nothing changed, but he couldn’t stop his heart from doing backflips whenever she laughed at one of his dumb jokes or called him partner. It was still a running joke between them and among the group of their friends, but there was something in the way she said it that made him instantly smile like an idiot. 

He also started paying more attention to the hashtags on Twitter and Instagram. #PartnersInCrime was still rather popular, even though it was a month since anyone last used this phrase on stream. Corpse also found out that #Y/Nforthebride was trending for some time; he even managed to stumble across a few fanarts. 

There was this urge to send them to Y/N, but he was too nervous that it would make things awkward between them... After all, he didn’t know how she felt about that whole shipping thing. 

That’s why he decided to just leave things between them as they are, and be happy that he’s at least her friend.  

Corpse nearly jumped out of his skin, when he was brought back to reality by the sound of an upcoming FaceTime call. Y/N’s photo appeared on his screen, her smiley face which he had assigned as her contact photo. His lips corners curled up in a smile almost unwittingly. 

“Hey Y/N/N” he said after answering the call. 

“Hi Corpse” she smiled softly upon hearing his voice. Although the screen on her side was dark, she didn’t mind not seeing Corpse’s face. She respected his wish to remain faceless and enjoyed their conversations anyway. 

“Whatcha doin’?”

“Just editing the new video. I guess I’ll upload it in the morning... but I’m not sure yet.”

“Well let me know then, I wanna be the first one to see it.” 

“Sure thing, Corpse” she chuckled, lowering her gaze bashfully. Corpse just looked at her face for a moment, unable to stop smiling to himself. Then he remembered why they were talking in the first place.

“So... have you seen my text?” Y/N sighed at his question but nodded her head slowly. “And what do you think?”

“I don’t know, Corpse...” she ran a hand through her hair in a nervous gesture. “...if that’s a good idea, I mean.”

“Well, it’s been a while. No pressure though, if you don’t wanna play then it’s totally fine.” he quickly clarified. “I just thought it would be fun if you joined us, even if just for a moment. I’m sure everyone would go crazy.” 

Her smile widened slightly at his words, but she still didn’t look convinced. Sure, it was tempting to join them. She wanted to do it each time Sean or Felix bombarded her with messages and codes to the lobby, both inviting her to join the group in the game. But then she remembered how people reacted to her appearance in their streams... and suddenly it didn’t seem like such a good idea anymore.

“We’re gonna play on Polus...” he added after a moment when she still didn’t say anything. “That one map with the planetary base... there’s a lava pit, y’know. Just saying...”

She laughed wholeheartedly at his words, remembering their last game when Corpse jumped into the lava for her. 

“Sykkuno’s gonna be there as well” Corpse continued. “And I promise I won’t kill you this time.”

“Even if I’m the last player alive?” she joked.

“Even then, Y/N.”

Corpse stifled a laugh, as she cocked her head to the side and narrowed her eyes slightly as if trying to spot him in the darkness. 

“Are you streaming, Corpse?” she then asked.

“Not yet. I’m gonna start the stream as soon as you say yes, though.”

“Oh c’mon” she laughed at his words “That’s emotional blackmail!” 

“Maybe. Is it working?” he asked.

Y/N let out a heavy breath and ran a hand down her face. Corpse watched in anticipation as she seemed to have some internal battle with herself. He hoped that she’s gonna agree, he really missed playing with her. 

“All right, then.” she suddenly said, and his breath hitched in his throat. “I’m gonna stay for a few rounds I guess...”

“Wait, really?” he asked, a smile on his face only widening. 

“Well, yeah, partner.” she replied, which made his cheeks go warm “Your imposter techniques haven’t been very effective lately... Someone needs to help you out, or you’re gonna lose your title of the king of the Imposters.” 

“Oh, is that’s how it is now?” he laughed in fake shock. “I wouldn’t have to worry about losing the title if my accomplice hadn’t left me all alone!” 

“All right, all right.” she giggled at his accusations. “Your accomplice is on her way to support you.” 

Corpse smiled even wider at the sound of her laughter. Her eyes shined with happiness when she was giggling, which only brought out their E/C color. The fact that his stupid babbling was the reason for her smile was making him feel extremely proud of himself.  

“But just so you know... I still have no idea how this map works, so I’m afraid I’m gonna need you to guide me around it...”

“Y’know you could as well just say you want to hang out with me...”

“Corpse!” she laughed, her cheeks blushing in embarrassment. 

“Just kidding Y/N” he chuckled at her reaction. “Of course I’m gonna guide you, don’t worry.”

“Okay then...” she said after a moment, looking at the screen again. “I’ll be there in a few minutes. Will you send me the code, please?”

“Sure I will, Y/N” 

“Okay. See you later, partner” she smiled brightly. 

“See you, partner.” 

When Y/N ended the call, Corpse let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding. He sighed in relief and ran a hand through his hair, before moving to sit behind his desk.

It was only after he started the stream that he realized he was blushing. Not only because Y/N would join them, but because there was also another thing he wanted to ask her about, but didn’t find the courage to yet...

By the time Y/N turned on her computer and started the game, Corpse has already sent her the code, and there was a Discord invite waiting for her as well. She bit her lip nervously as her heartbeat quickened. 

Was she nervous? As hell. 

She did everything she could to avoid being in unnecessary spotlight since she started receiving those hate messages. Perhaps escaping the problem wasn’t the best solution, but it definitely was a comfortable one. People wouldn’t have a reason to hate on her if she disappeared. 

But then she couldn’t say no to Corpse. And truth to be said - she really missed playing with her friends. From what she’d seen on Twitter, the lobby would be filled with those she’d already played with, so she wasn’t that nervous before the game. What she was nervous about though, was how people would react.

Accepting Corpse’s request was something she did due to the sudden rush of courage. And now there was no coming back.

She knew Corpse would understand if she changed her mind... but she heard how excited he was when she had agreed. She couldn’t do it to him. 

So, once she’d taken a deep breath and put her headphones on, Y/N accepted the invite and braced herself for the inevitable chaos that was bound to take place in the call. She decided to wait with joining the lobby though - at least until they realize she’s with them. 

“..the fuck you’re talking about?!” Felix’s voice was the first thing she heard, which made her roll her eyes with a smile. “It’s not my fault I sound like that! At least I don’t have a liar voice like Rae!” 

“HEY!” the girl yelled “I don’t have a liar voice!”

“You do, you’re using it even now!” Jack argued, much to Rae’s dismay. 

“What is going on here” Corpse’s deep voice sounded out suddenly. 

“Oh, you’re here! Finally” Sykkuno immediately welcomed him with his always happy voice. 

“Yeah, sorry that I’m late guys.”

“No worries, man” Pewdiepie spoke up again. “We were just talking about playing the voice card and that you’re basically the only one who can do it.” 

“Not fair at all!” Rae chimed in, making Corpse chuckle. 

“The voice card...” he hummed after a moment, before adding. “I wouldn’t really say I’m the only one though...”

“Well who else then? Everyone else either starts laughing or have a liar voice” Dave asked, and Rae scoffed at the last words.

“Well what about my guest?”

Y/N inhaled sharply, realizing that now she should probably reveal herself. 

“Oh, right! Who you’re bringing man?” Sean asked with curiosity.

That’s when Y/N typed in the game code, and her white astronaut appeared in the lobby. 

“Wait, who’s- HOLY SHIT” Sean all but yelled, when realization hit him. Y/N laughed loudly at his reaction, and her voice only seemed to prove to everyone that she really was there. 

“KIDDO WHAT THE FUCK” Felix reflected Jack’s response, yelling over his friend.

“Oh my god, hi!”

“What a surprise!” Y/N managed to catch Sykkuno’s words. “It’s so amazing to have you here, Y/N/N!” 

“As I live and breathe.” another voice spoke up, and Toast’s little astronaut came face to face with her white bean. “My lifelong nemesis. Back here snap my neck again, huh?”

“Yeah, happy to hear you too, Toast” Y/N giggled at his words, then she adressed the whole group. “Hi guys.”

“Okay I did not expect that in the slightest” Sean laughed happily “You’re here kiddo!” 

“I am” she smiled from ear to ear, even though they couldn’t see her. 

“Wait- Corpse, is that the thing you had to take care of?” her best friend asked Corpse with suspicious voice. 

“Well...” he trailed off and cleared his throat, making everyone laugh.

“That’s so great Y/N! We missed you so much!” Rae thundered over the bickering of the boys. “The game hasn’t been the same without you...”

“Agreed. I suddenly stopped dying.” Toast commented, making her roll her eyes with a laugh. 

“I don’t know if I should be happy or fucking scared right now.” Felix laughed nervously. “With Corpse and Y/N? We’re fucked now, guys.”

“I promise I’ll go easy on you, I haven’t played in so long I think I forgot all my strategies...” 

“Yeah, sure.” Toast’s forever suspicious voice made her smile wider. “Just don’t kill me in the first roung, okay? I won’t vote you off just stay the fuck away from me you little murderer.” 

“Okay, I promise I won’t kill you...” 

She couldn’t stop herself from laughing, and the smile remained on her face even when they started the game. It only seemed to widen, when she saw the sign Imposter on her screen. 

Only to giggle hysterically when she realized that Toast was the other imposter...

And so the game went on with Y/N and Toast cooperating like perfect serial killers. Corpse did as he promised and guided her through the map, both of them being closely followed by Sykkuno. Because of that she’d just sabotage the map most of the time to give Toast opportunities to kill their friends, but eventually managed to sneak out when her two fellow crewmates were doing their tasks. It just so happen that Pewds was walking past her, and she might’ve accidentally snapped his neck... 

“Goddamnit! I knew it! I fucking knew it was you!” Sean yelled once the game was over and Y/N saw the sign VICTORY on her screen, her small character standing next to Toast’s one. He was ejected at some point because Poki managed to walk in on him killing Rae, but Y/N remained undetected until the very end. Perhaps the fact that Corpse was one of the two crewmates who were left alive had something to do wtih it...

“That was rude” Pewds said in a whiny voice, clearly referring to their encounter which led to his death. “I was just happily walking around, doing my tasks like a good crewmate, and then boom! Y/N happened” 

“I would say I’m sorry... but I’m really not” she laughed, making Felix gasp in shock.

“That’s what happens when you work with Toast!” 

“Good game, Y/N. That was amazing” the man in question said appreciatively. 

“Will you finally forgive me for killing you that one time if I say that being imposters with you was cool?” she laughed nervously. 

“Actually... Yeah, I guess we can bury the hatchet now. AND we should team up more in the future.”

“Great!” 

“Excuse me, what?” Corpse’s voice made the whole lobby laugh. “I don’t remember us cancelling our partnership, Y/N.”

“Corpse...” 

“Are you trying to steal my accomplice from me Toast?” 

“Well she’s a great partner in crime after all...” Toast deliberately used the phrase, making Corpse gasp.

“Hey! She’s my partner! Find yourself your own, Toast” Corpse joked, making Y/N laugh bashfully, her cheeks warming up at his words. 

“Yeah yeah, I remember, don’t worry man. No one’s gonna take your partner in crime away from you...” Toast’s teasing voice made them all laugh, Corpse and Y/N included. 

For the next few rounds Y/N played as a crewmate, running around the map with either Corpse or Sykkuno and doing her tasks. During meetings they joked and laughed, and for a moment, she stopped thinking about what people watching her friend’s streams might think about her presence. After all, there was at least a small chance that they didn’t think about it at all, and simply enjoyed watching their favoirte youtubers. Just as she enjoyed playing with her friends. 

Oh, and by the way, Corpse kept his promise and didn’t kill her even when she was the last player alive...

It was soon time when everyone started slowly leaving the lobby, having played for over three hours. Y/N also said her goodbyes to the others and promised that she’d join them to play a game called Raft next week. 

When she turned her computer off and threw herself on her bed, Y/N immediately grabbed her phone to call Corpse. He answered right away. 

“Well hello, partner...” she rolled her eyes with a smile when he accented the last word. “Or should I say, traitor, instead?” 

“Corpse... you know I would never betray you...” 

“Well how can I be so sure, now that I know how cool it is to be imposters with Toast?” she knew he was joking, she could almost hear the smile in his voice.

“Not nearly as cool as it is with you, Corpse” Y/N grinned from ear to ear when Corpse scoffed. 

“I spare your life so many times and that’s what I get in return? You cheat on me with Toast?” he said in disbelief “I’m disappointed, Y/N, I really am.”

“I would never!” she laughed through her words, even though her cheeks were now red because of Corpse’s words. “You’re the best partner in crime, Corpse, I wouldn’t trade you for anyone else!” 

Not only in the game, she thought.

“Hmm, alright. Let’s say I believe you.” he said after a moment of thinking. 

“I mean it, Corpse...” Y/N said after calming down from her laughter. “I... I really wanted to thank you.”

“Thank me? For what?” he asked, genuinely surprised. 

“Well, first of all for inviting me to today’s game... I really had lots of fun, it was great to play and talk with the others. And I wouldn’t be in the lobby if not for you...” Y/N mumbled, before verbalizing her previous thoughts. “And I also wanted to thank you for just... you know... being my friend. My real life partner in crime. I just wanted you to know I’m really glad I met you...” 

Corpse was silent for a good few moments, and Y/N started panicking that maybe she said something wrong, or maybe he found her spontaneous confession funny, or worse, dumb. She was almost ready to somehow laugh it all off, when his voice cut her off.

“Thank you, Y/N. It really means a lot to me too.” he sounded like he had some troubles with speaking, which made Y/N furrow her brows in worry.

“Is everything okay, Corpse?” 

“Yeah, I...” he stuttered, then laughed nervously. “I just didn’t expect that and... yeah. It’s not something I hear on a daily basis, especially from someone like you.”

Someone like me? 

 “But what you said... it’s mutual.” he said after a moment, and Y/N couldn’t stop herself from grinning like an idiot. “You’re the best partner in crime I could ask for. And not only in the game.” 

She could as well just pass out there and there...

“So uhm... there was one thing I wanted to ask you...”

“Yeah?”

“I was wondering if maybe... you know, if you’d have some time... and if you’d want to of course... would you maybe like to visit me here in San Diego?”

Yeah, passing out seems like a good idea.
