these are all k-dramas since i haven't watched too many romance movies 💀 I've excluded moots who are on a hiatus rn for this one,, i may add them in later though! i hope these are accurate grr

✧ @yv17 : Extraordinary You - Boo Seungkwan

Plot: Eun Dano (Kim Hye-Yoon) is a student at a prestigious high school. Her family is wealthy, but Eun Dano has a heart disease. Her fiance Baekyung (Lee Jae-Wook) attends the same prestigious high school. She likes him a lot, but he does not like her at all. Suddenly, Eun Dao has short-term memory loss and she can see what will happen in the near future. She gets confused by her symptoms. Then, Taeri, from the school cafeteria, tells Eun Dano that she is a character in the comic "Secret" like everybody else there. Eun Dano learns that her character is not even a main character, but rather an extra and she doesn't have much time to live. Eun Dano is stunned, but she decides she wants to find her own true first love and not someone written by the comic writer. One day, she falls down the school stairs. She feels her back touch the back of another student, among a group of male students. Her heart suddenly starts to flutter. Eun Dano wants to find the male student who made her heart flutter. She eventually finds the student (Ro Woon) and he is her classmate. He is a character that doesn't have a name. They get close and Eun Dano names him "Haru"

MY ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE KDRAMA EVER OML nora as dano??? seungkwan as haru??? sign me tf up. they'd be the absolute cutest. although seungkwan is quite different to haru with his personality being a lot more lively he'd still go really well with this plot! although it has a bit of a sadder (?) ending it's such a good drama. seungkwan would screw himself over again and again for nora because he's head over heels. not matter how much trouble it gets him in he'd do anything for her and vice versa 🙁 i can see vernon playing taeri and jun playing baekyung as well it fits so perfect

Plot: Do Minjun, an alien who came to earth 400 years ago, begins a romance with the stuck-up A-list Korean actress Cheon Songi.

songi and minjun ARE LITERALLY THEM the minjun vibes sunghoon gives are uncanny. kayla would definitely bring sunghoon out of his shell just like songi does minjun and they'd be the most adorable couple. i see them stargazing a lot together just like songi and minjun did, sunghoon would also be such a tease and play games just like minjun 💀

They find out how deeply connected they are by their past. A forgetful killer can be a dangerous thing. Attorney Ji Eunhyuk (Choi Taejun) is a longtime family friend of Jiuk who betrayed Jiuk by cheating with Jiuk's ex-girlfriend. Much similar to Bonghui's current situation after her ex boyfriend, Huijun, cheats on her. Bonghui continues to curse at Huijun and his current girlfriend, singing a rhyme saying she will kill him whenever he passes her by. However ehen Huijun really does end up dead in her apartment, despite her innocence Bonghui suddenly finds herself as a suspect.

here's your ceo yj fic lirin 💀💀💀🫶 as hectic as this kdrama is the fact that jiuk sacrifices EVERYTHING for bonghui will never not bring me to tears. his job, career, reputation and even his own life??? the literal description of ceo yj. he's known for being ruthless and cold, emotionless sparing no sympathy for anyone in his court so when you finally break down his walls, he's bending over backwards to prove your innocence. even though he has to question his morals, he ultimately does what's right, because he loves you

ej and jw 🤭🤭🤭 they just fit so perfectly in this drama??? idek what else to say tbh. hyunmin would 100% be jay, with seowoo as sunoo. the love triangle would be the most interesting thing ever since all three guys have completely different personalities along with different feelings towards ej. i can see jungwon being completely hostile at first but ej would melt his heart eventually falling 🙁 it'd be the cutest thing ever i need a remake with this lineup

plot: Shin Hari (Kim Sejeong) goes on a blind date after she accepts to replace her friend, Jin Youngseo (Seol Inah), whose father had arranged it. The plan is to have Hari 'getting rejected' by her prospective partner. However, it goes awry when her date turns out to be Kang Taemoo (Ahn Hyoseop), CEO of Go Food, the company where Hari works. Taemoo, who is being pressured by his grandfather Kang Dagoo (Lee Deokhwa), the chairman of Go Food's parent company, to go on blind dates with suitable marriage partners, decides to marry his blind date partner to avoid going on the rest of the dates, without knowing she is the fake Jin Youngseo or that she is his employee, which she assiduously tries to hide. However, Hari's fake identity, but thankfully not her employment status, is soon exposed after the real Jin Youngseo gets into a parking accident with Cha Sunghoon (Kim Minkyu), Taemoo's secretary, who was acting as Taemoo's driver at that moment.

MY FAVE THAI DRAMA STRAIGHT SHIPS

KRATHING & DUCHESS (GIRL NEXT ROOM: RICHY RICH)

these two are just my faves, not just bc I love offmild, but also bc their story is simple, fun & wholesome, while still having some depth about generational poverty & superficiality. the chemistry is top-tier & this two are forever my fave thai straight pairing :)

ZEN & YUI (FABULOUS 30)

another off ship, shhhh I'm not biased he just slays so much it's not my fault! zen & yui are quite similar to krathingduchess in the sense that they're generally a very funny couple, yet they actually tackle a lot of issues about self confidence, appearances, intimacy, etc. they're not perfect but they're ADORABLE & I love them sm!

SOMCHAI & LINN (ANGEL BESIDE ME)

angel beside me is my fave straight thai drama bc somchai & linn are SO beautiful & wholesome. but similarly to the other previous ships, this show deals with a lot of deep issues related to poverty, toxic family members, etc. it's truly such a beautiful underrated show & absolutely deserved to pop off when it was released!

MEW & NEO (3 WILL BE FREE)

despite being the most underrated relationship in the 3wbf throuple, mew & neo are extremely iconic! first of all, yes mild lapassalan & joss wayar are two of the hottest people I know, thanks for asking, they make my bi heart very happy 😌 but also I love the evolution they have from enemies to lovers, and being both sex workers means they understand each other very well! they're just very cute together & I love them :)

SILA & MEEN (HUA JAI SILA)

not only is hua jai sila my favorite lakorn, but it's mostly bc of the pairing. I don't usually love pairings where the man is tortured & cold while the woman is perpetually kind & loving, but here it really worked for me. the chemistry is straight up FIRE, and you truly come to believe these two are such a beautiful & powerful team together. absolute cuties, and the fact that the female lead was a tor fan before that lakorn??? ADORABLE!

TANNAM & TEE (HAPPY BIRTHDAY)

to talk about a tragic couple (which also contains mild bc she owns this list lmao), we have happy birthday. mild & push are not only INCREDIBLY good looking together on top of being ABSOLUTELY TOP TIER actors, but the whole writing of this show will take your heart & play squash with it lmao. the chemistry is truly out of this world, and I cherish this show so much. the side ship of tonmai & his best friend (pluem purim & jan ployshompoo) is also ADORABLE!!!

VEE & KATE (THE REVENGE)

with how much I always scream about my love for this show, I hope that everyone knows by now that the revenge is one of the best thai dramas EVER MADE. one reason why I enjoyed this show so much, is that it balances legit the most gruesome murder story with a very cute & wholesome love story, AND IT WORKS. with mook worranit & non chanon being multiple times in this list which makes them thai romances experts, they really deliver a beautiful chemistry & love story. watch after the ending credits of the last episode, though!

BADZ & SMILE (BOY FOR RENT)

there is a reason boy for rent is one of the only straight gmmtv shows to have amassed so many millions of views, and it's that, on top of the hot shirtless men, badz & smile are absolutely one of the cutest pairings ever! their love story is a bit complicated but mond & fon's effortless chemistry really makes every viewer get attached to them immediately!

ANNIE & CHEN (MAMA GOGO)

here we have a very unexpected ship but SUCH a goodie! annie & chen are a funny, opposites-attract kind of ship but their chemistry is fire & they were just absolutely adorable! a truly wholesome pairing that will always put a smile on my face :)

AOM-AM & MIKE (FULL HOUSE)

now bringing it back to an OG iconic thai couple, we have full house! while this show has a lot of flaws, its pairing ISN'T one of them! the chemistry is top-tier, the story very touching & you spend so long with these characters you truly get so attached to them. absolutely adorable pairing :)

YING-YING & KORN / PAT & NOINA (46 DAYS)

now we have three recurring actors on this list at once! 46 days is such a cute show, it's chaotic, a bit surface-level, yet SO much fun! the main pairing composed of baifern & non is chemistry-central and absolutely great, but of course the side pairing of offmild (again! can't believe they got 2 shows together, it was such a slay!) stole my heart :)

KIEW & CHOMPOO (TO ME, IT'S SIMPLY YOU)

here we have another lakorn, that is this time barely a romance & more about a tight-knit community working together for a common goal & being cute, but the ship truly is TOP-TIER! one of the least problematic & toxic, and probably the most wholesome pairing I've ever seen! they're just too pure for this world & I absolutely love them :) (also green (kiew) & pink (chompoo) is my fave color combo hehe <3)

KLUAY & PUP (LOVE AT FIRST HATE)

you want chemistry?? YOU GOT IT! this is a pretty classic enemies to lovers thai story, very reminiscent of lakorns, but made better by the incredible male lead (I fell in love with him during this show, man's HOT!) & the really great chemistry between the actors! truly one of the best thai dramas for it, and even though I wasn't a big fan of all the tropes, this is one of the best thai straight dramas in my eyes!

BANK & LIN (BAD GENIUS)

even though I already loved the non x aokbab ship in the movie, in terms of series, jaonaay & juné were so good together! they even made a song together afterwards hehe, so cute! bad genius is such a good movie & it's also an amazing series, and even though there's a lot going on the brewing romance between bank & lin is SO GOOD! truly a show I'd recommend no matter what anyway :)

MIELLE & KIM (SENIOR SECRET LOVE: BAKE ME LOVE)

on the theme of chemistry, here we have a show that isn't exceptional but is absolutely CARRIED by its pairing! loving both actors from this pairing, it's no surprise they put their whole USSY in the chemistry, like I genuinely love this show bc they're too fucking cute!!! would recommend for a short, wholesome & easy watch :)

PHAT & CHER (CATCH ME BABY)

with the same female lead as the previous ship, we have my favorite straight recent pairing! not only is catch me baby such a fun show that I tremendously enjoyed, but the romance aspect is so cute & the chemistry??? PALPABLE! really such a lovely pairing I swear!

TEE & EL (BANGKOK LOVE STORIES 2: PLEAD)

once again our king non chanon is back, and here we have a story that did kinda disappoint me towards the end but is mostly amazing with a very powerful couple! emotions are high in that series, & I'm also so glad we get to see a really beautiful sex scene between them where usually thai dramas are more conservative, mostly regarding women. the cinematography of this show is also absolutely beautiful!

KRAAM & MAY (THE STRANDED)

I'm gonna try not to cry even though this makes me think of beam papangkorn's death, but the stranded truly was such a special thai show that deserved so much better. this pairing is a bit cliche but made better by the beautiful acting & chemistry beam & pat presented, as well as the beyond perfect cinematography (I think about the firefly scene shown above approximately once a week!) in my opinion, this is one of the most important thai dramas that is a must watch, so I would absolutely recommend it!

MINT & BEBE (MINT TO BE)

mook strikes again, this woman is incapable of having bad chemistry with anyone LMAO. this show is also one of my favorite thai straight series bc it's short, cute & very entertaining. the chemistry between mook & krist is also REALLY good, and the show was quite revolutionary in terms of pda for a gmmtv series at the time. I definitely recommend for a wholesome time :)

SKY & HOSHI (MY DEAR WARRIOR)

idk who thought of pairing up baifern & oab but they ATE! if you like scifi/supernatural shows, this will probably be right up your alley! I personally didn't really love this show even though I enjoyed a lot of aspects, but sky & hoshi truly were a great ship that I remember fondly! the chemistry was amazing & oab looks the hottest he's ever been in that role!

I couldn't talk about thai straight series without mentioning one of the most iconic ever, hormones! out of all the pairings, there is only one straight one I really loved, and it's toei & tar :) I'm always a sucker for the friends to lovers trope, but I thought this one was especially well done, especially considering toei & tar are some of the least unlikable characters from the show lol. they're very cute & wholesome and I thought I should include a high school love story in this list!

!!! what's your favorite cdrama?

Definitely Nirvana In Fire! It's not only my fave cdrama but overall my fave series ever!! ALL of characters are sooo compelling and the plot is sooooooo>>>>>>>>> The tension got me on my toes and I'm always a fan of tragedy, revenge and 'came back from the dead wrong' trope! Also the main character Mei Changsu is literally a genius i love him sm! Bonus points for found family AND cousin solidarity! Also I'm in love with Nihuang dkdjdjdj But also I know some people had a hard time passing through the first 3 episodes bc lots of politics and it may be a bit confusing 😅 but honestly it rewired my brain forever

Second close would be what got me into cdrama land the Untamed. Wei Wuxian you clown. I love him sm and while the drama had some issues (low production quality and bad cinematography, censorship and changes in the script bc of that) it was so sooo good and Xiao Zhan killed it as WWX! It got me through 2020 i was obsessed with it tbh! Again, mostly bc i loooooove found family and tragedy skdjdjdh

Another honorable mention is love between fairy and devil and while there are tons of xianxia who follow the similar plot (ashes of love, eternal love etc etc) i think it was the best amongst them!

I also liked Till the end of the Moon but the plot frustrated me sm from time to time and God help me the ending was sooo stupid. But Luo Yunxi and Bai Lu carried that enemies to lovers dynamic sooooo well!

W.I.T.C.H - now i'm not gonna pretend to be the biggest fan but this used to be THE show for me before WINX came along and i'll always pride myself on being a witch girlie first and winx girlie second (the "not like other girls" syndrome began very early on for me); their powers, the visuals, the adventures combined with the daily struggles of teen girls, the boyfriends, the intro song omg, there is sm about this show, the countless books, the og comic.. good stuff <3

Lovely Complex - my first anime iirc, i wish people would pay attention to it (but also i'm the only one who's allowed to get it, y'know); only a young romantic towering over her classmates could have the chance of understanding my feelings for it

also read the manga <3 but uh you can skip the live action lol

Hana Yori Dango - broooo- bro. this show was made for my basic romantic ass, it was my first asian drama (or one of the first), it introduced me to Matsumoto Jun, had me hooked for two seasons (though im pretty sure i binged the second season and movie in 24 hours, long after i had watched the first season..? idk what that was about)

i am of the opinion f4 thailand did best in many ways but this will forever be THE adaptation in my heart. the songs were unmatched, the drama breathtaking (there are so many cliches that i didn't know were cliches back then lol) and the experience surreal. i'll always treasure this questionable classic 💖

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? - i enjoy this an unreasonable amount - my country's edition, that is; i just like having it in the bg and being a smartass, sometimes i run my mouth off so confidently and proceed to apologise to the tv when the contestant turns out to have been right lol

Weekly Idol - hear me out on this - aside from all of its issues, the show has always been my way of finding more about groups. especially back in 2015, those low quality episodes on yt helped me so much with getting into kpop; it can be very hit-or-miss but i have so many faves; many artists have been on multiple episodes throughout the years and yet show something entertaining every time. you can find new groups to stan through the mixed episodes and learn more about the members of groups you're already interested in (though for that i also rec individual shows like gose, wanteez, monsta x-ray etc.). i'm especially excited for eunkwang and minjoo as the new hosts, they are so funny on their own and i want to see their dynamic so bad

Pride & Prejudice - i've watched this just once but i can't not appreciate the accuracy to the book (except for the iconic lake scene lmao) and it covers british tv, 90s shows, austen books and period dramas all at once - all things i enjoy

Bridgerton - i had a whole piece written bout this but simply put - season 2 and kathony were a Thing for me. got me researching and binging a bunch of jonathan shows, reading most of the book and a bunch of tumblr posts..even looking through gifs now im going feral, i love them

New Girl - i usually play shows like this in the bg but i found myself paying a lot of attention and actually losing it laughing so many times, also nick and schmidt are the most precious intense bromance i've witnessed in fiction

And hmm few of my faves are "Death is the only end for the villainess", "No longer a heroine!", and "The Couple breaker". The last 2 are by the same artist! The 1st is a regular "I died and was reincarnated as a villainess" kind of story, BUT It has a twist! It's in an otome game instead of a storybook! Quite interesting... The 2nd is based on the life of an actress. It's pretty realistic and is a little dark... Not much romance tho...The last is really drama HAHAH It's crazy like the name says it all. As for childhood friends to lovers, I recommend "The Secret Bedroom of a Dejected Royal Daughter". It's a little bit enemies to lovers too. And it has 18+ Scenes 😁🤭 That's a bonus.

excel forum. whenever i get confused regarding codes or formulas, i drop by the forum to ask. there are many kind people there! and most of their codes and formulas work too

may I rant about Jeid? I'm happy we have more Will in CME because it almost makes me forget how they ruined the JJ & Reid friendship. If this was any other show I'd be side eyeing them more for that and having Reid be the godparent. These writers rly need to leave my team dynamics alone

I actually made some posts about this a couple days ago too, when I was finishing s14 haha but here's my (another😂) rant:

I love Will so fucking much (like, we saw him like once or twice a season since s2, how is it possible that I love him this much haha, he's just the best) and he and JJ are so adorable, and I'm so mad that they tried to screw with that - and like, yeah, she said that she loves Will and the boys too, but.... idk, it's just so weird and kinda undermining their relationship, basically implying that she's always wondered what if or was pining for Reid or smth (that's how it came across, at least, and I refuse to acknowledge it as part of the show, it just simply didn't happen 😂)

and like, JJ and Reid literally had one of the best and cutest friendships, they were besties, and he's Henry's godfather ffs

and suddenly JJ's "always loved him"??? like, if she clarified later that she meant that she loved him like a friend/brother but had to make it sound like that in the moment so the guy who was about to kill her was satisfied, then okay, I'd be fine with what she said

but they fucking doubled down on it! and their dynamic at the beginning of s15 was so awkward and I hated it sm (also, Reid subconsciously "waiting for her"? talking to his mom about what what JJ said means? like, wtf did he think was gonna happen)

not to mention, there was literally one episode in s1 when he wanted to ask her out and then they never mentioned it again until s14 - and suddenly they jump in with this bullshit? no thank you lol

it just seemed kinda forced, like they needed to add drama, it didn't even make much sense

in this show, platonic relationships are what matters, they need to stop playing with all those dynamics that work so well fr

also, JJ is literally my absolute fave character, can they leave her the fuck alone and let her be happy with Will pls 😂 (I'm so happy we're getting so much of them now, I love them)
