First Concert

Summary- You and Jack take Paisley to the Eras tour, which happens to be their first concert other then watching Jack preform.

A/N- Feel free to imagine them seeing whoever you want, but this idea was sparked from seeing a TikTok about a little girl going to the Era's tour, so I choose Taylor Swift.

Paisley and Olive had been to countless concerts, but they had never been to a concert that wasn’t their Dads. They had always stayed backstage, watching from the side, so you were both a little nervous about how they would react to being in the crowd, but Paisley and Olive were currently obsessed with Taylor Swift and Jack had worked with Neelam to get tickets in the VIP box. You had thought about surprising the girls, but you knew they would want to pick out their outfits, so you told them in advance.

Countless stores and trying on dresses later and Paisley picked out a gold dress with stars on it, and Olive picked out a baby pink dress with sequins. While they were looking for their dresses, they saw a long purple dress they wanted you to wear, so you did. 

“Hey Daddy?” Paisley asked, her and Olive walking up to Jack who was making lunch.

“Yes?” Jack asked.

“You know how me, Olive, and Mommy are dressing up for the concert?” Paisley asked and Jack nodded. 

“I do.”

“You should dress up with us Daddy!” Olive said.

“Yeah, you should!” Paisley said and Jack thought for a minute.

“Let me guess, you want to pick out the outfit?” He asked and they both nodded excitedly.

“Yeah!!” Olive cheered excitedly.

“Okay, you can pick my outfit.” Jack told them and they both jumped up and down excitedly.

“What about a pink and blue cotton candy shirt?” Paisley asked. 

“Like tie dye?” Jack asked, both girls called tie dye, cotton candy.

“Not tie dye, Mommy will show you what we found.” Paisley said.

“Oh you already have an outfit in mind?” Jack teased and Olive giggled, covering her mouth.

“Maybe.” Olive said and Paisley rolled her eyes at her sister.

“You weren’t supposed to tell him.” Paisley said underneath her breath, making Jack laugh.

Later that day, the girls showed Jack the shirt you three picked out, and even though Hayden wasn’t going to the concert with the four of you since he was still a newborn, he would be spending a few hours with Jack’s parents, but you bought him a shirt that matched Jack’s for pictures.

You were all excited for the concert, in the weeks leading up to it, both girls couldn’t stop talking about it. Her music was playing non-stop in your house, the girls made countless friendship bracelets with your and Jack’s help, even involving Urban in the bracelet making process. 

Jack wanted to surprise you, Paisley, and Olive so a couple days before the concert he made an appointment for you three to get your nails done, which turned into you having a girl’s day with Paisley and Olive while Jack and Hayden had a boy’s day. 

The morning of the concert, the girls were begging you and Jack to let them wear makeup, which to them really just meant they wanted to wear sparkly eyeshadow, so you let them. You chose gold for Paisley and pink for Olive to match their dresses. Paisley wanted her hair in a bun, so Jack did Paisley’s hair while you curled Olive’s because that’s what she wanted. 

You dropped Hayden off at Jack’s parents house, before Jack drove to the stadium. As soon as you were close enough to see the stadium, both Paisley and Olive started practically jumping up and down in their seats. 

“Mommy! Daddy! Look!!” Paisley yelled excitedly, pointing out her window where she saw a picture of Taylor Swift on the LED screen outside the stadium.

“I’m so excited!” Olive said, clapping her hands. 

Once Jack parked around the back of the stadium, the four of you were led to the VIP box, where the girls traded friendship bracelets with everyone who came up to say hi to Jack, fans giving you and Jack friendship bracelets also, Paisley and Olive even trading each other so they could get the bracelets they wanted. 

“Daddy?” Olive asked Jack.

“Yes Liv?” Jack looked down at her.

“How come this many people don’t come to watch you sing?” She asked as the crowd filled the stadium.

“Um, because she’s been singing longer than me and she has more fans.” Jack tried to explain in a way that would make sense to her.

“Oh, okay.” Olive shrugged.

“It’s really your own kids who humble you the most.” Jack joked to you, making you laugh. 

“I agree, don’t want you to get too big of a head over there.” You teased, Jack jokingly pushing your shoulder before pulling you in to kiss you. 

“Mommy, when does the concert start?” Paisley asked you and you checked your phone.

“About 20 minutes.” You told her and she nodded excitedly before running back to her sister. 

20 minutes later and Taylor started performing, both girls cheering loudly and dancing as she sang. Both girls sang along to the lyrics as loud as they could, and even though they always listened to the clean versions of songs, you and Jack told them that tonight was an exception and they could sing along to the curse words.

As soon as Taylor started singing “Look What You Made Me Do” Olive turned to you and Jack.

“She’s playing my favorite song!!” Olive yelled over the music before continuing to sing along.

You and Jack were surprised that both girls had just as much energy towards the end of the concert that they did at the beginning. You expected at least one of the two to have fallen asleep since their bedtime was hours ago.

Taylor started playing “Bejeweled” and Paisley started jumping up and down. Bejeweled was her favorite song.

“Daddy! She’s playing Bejeweled!! Dance with me!” Paisley said and Jack nodded, dancing with Paisley you and Olive joining in.

A couple songs later and the concert was over. Olive’s exhaustion set in as she sat down.

“Daddy, can you carry me?” She asked and Jack nodded, picking Olive up before you took Paisley’s hand and you were led by security back to your car. Olive ended up falling asleep during the walk, her head laying on Jack’s shoulder with her arms wrapped loosely around his shoulders. Paisley on the other hand, was still full of energy.

“I want to sing just like Taylor Swift when I’m older.” Paisley told you and Jack as you walked to the car.

“You don’t want to perform like me anymore?” Jack asked and Paisley thought for a second.

“No. I want to wear sparkly outfits.” Paisley said and Jack laughed.

“Okay, that��s fair, you can wear all the sparkly outfits you want to.” Jack told her.

“I had so much fun, this was the best night ever. Thank you for bringing us.” Paisley told you and Jack.

“You’re welcome, we’re glad you had fun, we had a lot of fun with you too.” You smiled at Paisley.

“I miss Hayden though.” Paisley said.

“We all miss Hayden, but we’re going to pick him up and then we can see him, but we have to go to bed when we get home okay?” Jack reminded her and she nodded.

“Can we sleep in your room tonight?” Paisley asked and Jack looked at you, you nodded.

“Of course.” Jack told her, gently placing Olive in her car seat while you and Paisley got into the car. 

What you had kept a secret from the girls, is that they would be seeing Taylor again the next night, except tomorrow, they would be meeting her before the show.

visuals for the marauders

putting this here so I have a reference later when I'm actually writing and posting the fanfic (rn I just have a good chunk plotted out and some scenes in my brain). Also including their pronouns so it makes a little more sense. For their clothing, it's just their choices when they don't have to wear the school uniform (I hate the uniform deeply imo no one looks as hot in robes). I am taking artistic license with their designs bc I can make them look better than their canon designs do easily. If I said something contradicting these earlier, ignore it, I've got shit memory and adhd.

Sirius (he/they/she): long hair, one of those really queer nonbinary bun type things? She wears half goth half casual punk clothing stuff (like fishnet shirts under sleeveless black hoodies/ corsets with leather band jackets, etc. Definitely a spikey black boots/spiked collar type person). Decently pale skin and really dark blueish eyes, like the night sky right before it fades to black or the sea during a thunderstorm. They do their own piercings which has given them more than one infection, but he does have some successful ones (nose bridge, eyebrow, lots of ear stuff, and snakebites). Remus will insist to do it for them if he knows that she has a new idea, and he's significantly safer about them.

Remus (he/they? He/him? Somewhat cis but has a complicated relationship with gender): short golden brown hair that's in a barely noticeably mullet style. Nostril piercing (Sirius said it would look good on him so he did it). Warm-toned light brown skin with a lot of freckles that you generally can't see, dark amber eyes. Dresses for comfort over style, which usually means t-shirts, sweatpants and beat up old sneakers. Their only very noticeable scar on their face is one over their lips and chin. They have more, but the others are more skin toned.

Peter (he/they, sometimes it): generally very cute, light skin with some freckles and messy wavy blonde hair, pale sky blue eyes. Sirius is trying to convince him to let them give him snakebites but he's very on the fence about it (he barely even wears makeup so he isn't the most adventurous about that stuff). Thick/long lashes. Tends to wear muted neutral colors. The only jewelery that he's consistent about is a leather bracelet he always has on his left wrist. Tries to not be visually noticeable, tends to hang around the back of the friend group and let the others get all the attention.

James (he/him probably): longer curly/wavy dark brown queer mullet (tboy energy) and warm brown skin. Dark golden toned brown eyes. People tend to think he and Remus are cousins or something which he thinks is really funny (he's definitely turned around and started making out with him for as a bit when someone asks them if they're related). Usually wears brown dyed or bleached jeans and reddish-brown/brown/green-brown/yellow t shirts and tops for the cohesive and effortless energy. Paints his nails bright colors whenever he can as a contrast to Sirius's chronically flaking black nail polish. Has his lobes pierced but usually just wears gold studs. Wears gold bands around his biceps so he can flex when he wins a quiddich (<- I did not check how to spell that, you know what I mean) match

Regulus (he/him): he prefers to wear more formal clothing because that's what he was raised doing and the layers help him cover up any raised areas on his binder, but when that isn't an option/he's too depressed to do anything fancy, he wears black hoodies that are significantly too large for him (barty or evan's usually). Makeup tends to give hm dysphoria, but he always fills in his eyebrows and he'll put eyeliner on his waterline when he's going to an actual event. He pierced his tongue as an act of rebellion when he was younger and now he just fidgets with it a lot, other than that he just has his lobes done (he got them as a newborn) and he always leaves them empty in hopes that they'll seal up.

Courtney has a schedule planned out when she and the baby come home. Clearly it doesn’t go as planned as you simply cannot plan for this 😅

Duncan is in charge or changing diapers in the middle of the night because Courtney is in charge of feeding. It evens it out somewhat.

You will always find parent duncney with a baby monitor in hand. Sometimes you’ll find one of them passed out with the monitor to their ear.

I absolutely LOVE Wedding Bells, especially since in alot of Hispanic cultures it’s tradition to give newborns gold bracelet with their names on it to protect them from evil spirits and I can totally see Auri doing the same for the newborns in the cult. Even now that don’t wear gold but I all of my jewelry is silver, and yes, even all the charms on my bracelet that I wear are giving be all my family so you can see why I love the au so much!

💎Magia Conduits💎

DEFINITION

A magia conduit is a tool that mages and some priests use to wield magia, meaning, it's something that they require in order to do magic. It's a type of crystal called nightlite that has unparalleled magia conductive qualities, and functions as, well, a conduit through which people are able to access magia in the air. This crystal is typically cut into gems and used as jewelry. By far the most popular metal to encase it in is gold, as it's significantly conductive as well, and may provide help in smoothing the link to magia. Any person wishing to do magic must have a magia conduit on their person. There are many factors that impact its functionality, however.

ORIGINS

Nightlite gets its name from its night-like appearance, which is especially prominent in the dark as it has a slight glow to it (when cut and polished, it loses the glow). See the illustration below:

It's commonly found in caves strewn about the continent; although, at the present time, there is much less of it left due to the mining for conduits. It does not seem to form anymore either, nor is it possible to transmute. Nightlite was found very early on but its magia-related qualities were discovered much later. When scholars first started theorizing that magic could be done by anyone, not just priests (see this post for a bit more info on that), they spent years trying to find ways to achieve that. At some point, they turned to folklore, as nightlite was well-known among the common people. Those that dabbled in worship believed it was a manifestation of the deities and brought miracles into their homes if placed somewhere inside. Some saw it as a tool for curses and thus either seeked it out for nefarious purposes or avoided it as best they could. And some thought that if gifted to a newborn upon their birth it would bring the child good fortune for the rest of their lives. In short, there were as many beliefs as there were communities—and all had to do with mystical abilities (this was likely caused by accidental casting, so most of those beliefs had some truth to it). And so, when scholars began investigating this crystal, they quickly discovered that it, indeed, was just what they'd been looking for. On a separate note, nightlite has baffled geologists ever since they started investigating it and still does to this day. Although it looks like a regular crystal and can be cut and polished, its physical properties and structure is entirely unlike any other crystal. For example, it doesn't conduct heat at all, never sinks despite being heavier than all known crystals, tastes vaguely like burnt wood, makes no sound when hit—so far, nightlite remains a mystery to geologists, although a lot of effort it being put into uncovering its nature.

USAGE

What kind of magia conduit a mage has depends on what kind of mage they are. In short, the smaller the gem is, the less magia they can command, but the more precise their control will be. Imagine a hammer vs a spear. It depends what your needs are. For all-rounder mages (jack-of-all-trades types), they usually go with an average-sized necklace, a comfortable middle. A necklace is also the standard for students until they get a personalized one and most priests that use one. Those that tend to command larger amount of magia and don't require much precision, such as abjuration mages (they deal with protection magic, basically), typically go for arm braces or pendants with large gems. In contrast, those that need much more precision, like transmutation mages, opt for rings or delicate bracelets. Charm mages are somewhat unique in this regard. They're the only type that command magia primarily through speaking, and so they tend to wear conduits as earrings or hair/head pieces—something that would be closer to one's mouth. Now, sometimes it's in your best interest that others can't tell where your conduit is, so some tend to hide or otherwise disguise them. Some, however, like Merridie mages, wear so much jewelry with so many fakes that it can be difficult to tell which is the real one. Some don't try to hide it at all, thus showing how confident they are in their own abilities.

Magia conduits are also typically linked to one specific mage at a time. This is done to ensure the best possible flow and control. Each person differs in so many ways both physically and spiritually, so it's only natural they'd use magia differently, too, to some extent. That's why personalized conduits are a must for most mages. It's possible to wield magia with another's conduit, but it won't listen to you as effectively. It's common conduits to be passed down from parent to child if they come from a mage family. It's said that conduits that are family heirlooms work more efficiently for their new wielders as the more they've been in a family line, the more exposure they've had to it and thus are better adapted for it. This also means that they function more poorly to anyone not from the family line. In addition, more prominent families also have specific designs for their conduits. Quil's family, for example, go for more triangular and sharp designs. Some of such conduits have a reputation of their own, and children may even compete for them. It's considered high honor to inherit an old conduit. (As a note, whilst Quil did inherit his own, he had it remade into a ring as it used to be a hair piece. This was a very controversial move within the family lol.)

Lefikas have key anatomical features. These include a generally large feline body shape, broad feathered wings, hairless-sandpaper-esce skin, ear tassels (whiskers), cartilage cheek cowls, water storing neck pouches, and tubular tongues.

Mane and feather styles vary a lot. Clothing and accessories depend on where they live and their culture. Lefikas are notorious for jewelry and beautiful accessories. Many wear everything from drapes, bracelets, necklaces, piercings, and some have replaced a few teeth or claws with gold.

Lefikas exhibit sexual dimorphism. Biological females have larger cowls, thicker chests and bigger arm muscles, and are overall stronger in order to protect their children and male counterparts. Males have naturally flashier manes and thinner, fox-like faces.

Lefikas with medium to high internal aura levels have the ability to geoshift and georegenerate. Geoshifting is the act of turning the body to stone. Lefikas can slowly shift their bodies into geological materials for defense and attacking with more force. When a lefika loses an appendage, it will regenerate over decades. The area that breaks will be chalky and resemble their geotype.

They are omnivores. Their diet must also consist of geological materials. The amount is minimal. Without it, their body systems will slow and they lose the ability to regenerate.

Character Intro: Eurynome (Kingdom of Ichor)

Nicknames- Ma by Hephaestus

Age- 30

Location- Lemnos, Olympius

Personality- Eurynome is a true free-spirit! She's fiercely independent and uninhibited- marching to the beat of her own drum. She's incredibly passionate, creative, and loving & is very fond of travel. She's a lesbian and is currently single.

She's an oceanid nymph. Her tail has purple and blue scales.

She came across her adoptive son when she was out on a date as a nighttime picnic on the beach. By some rocks, Eurynome discovered a newborn baby boy swaddled in a plain brown cloth- noting that the baby's eyes were each a different color & his left arm as well as his legs were seriously deformed. Despite her date's protest to leave and feeling an instant maternal connection, Eurynome took the baby home. She put up missing flyers along the coves, cliffs, and rocky shores. She even managed to put a few dozen flyers in New Olympus. After a few months with no one coming forward to claim the child, she formally adopted the baby, giving him the name Hephaestus.

She came to discover the truth about Hephaestus' birth parents when he was a toddler- about three years old. At this point, his arm and legs were amputated and he was adjusting to his first set of prosthetics. Eurynome was getting ready to take him on a little sailing trip on her sailboat when she was approached by an elderly sailing couple who asked for help in repairing their own sailboat. After helping them, the couple shapeshifted into their actual form- as King Zeus and Queen Hera! After a long conversation, it was decided that the child would remain in Eurynome's custody. Over the years, Zeus and Hera would pop in from time to time, watching him from afar. They also provided financial assistance to Eurynome. She stopped accepting money from them when she opened up her own business, a seaside tea shop.

One of her worst experiences was telling Hephaestus the truth about his birth parents. The two didn't speak for a few years (after he started working an internship under the three blacksmithing cyclopes). Their relationship is much better now, and they even go to family counseling sessions.

She has her own business, a tea shop named the Black Pearl Cafe. She also sells her own tea mixes, powders, and other tea related products there too.

Her go-to drink is a butterfly pea flower tea. She also likes various fruit smoothies, sparkling water, lemon-lime soda, and cosmopolitans.

Eurynome has also taken up vlogging and photography in her free time. She often posts her photos on her Fatestagram page. She has a vlogging channel on a popular video sharing website PanopTube, where she posts videos of herself traveling to different beaches, seaside cliffs, and other exotic locations across the country. Her most popular video is of her two week vacation on Shimmering Tail Island.

She also enjoys sea gardening, hiking, sailing, reading, cooking, & baking.

The greatest gift she's ever received was from Hephaestus- a rose gold bracelet with freshwater pearls and diamonds. She wears it nearly everyday.

Eurynome has had a few romantic relationships with women, but nothing serious. She does have hopes of getting married someday.

Her favorite dish is broiled oysters and clams. She makes a whole meal for herself and Hephaestus. For fast food, she enjoys a large order of calamari rings (with extra tzatziki dipping sauce) & a crispy fish sandwich combo meal (with saltwater infused jasmine bubble tea).

Her greatest hope for her son is that he connects with his biological family.
