this is my first fic!!!! AHHH!!!!!!!! vv nervous posting this rn 🤞 it’s based off olivia rodrigo’s song ‘girl i’ve always been’ which i was listening to while writing… hope u enjoy! 🫶

warnings: toxic relationship, reader is rude, sex mention, pretty sure that’s all

roy didn’t know what it was about you that had him as infatuated as he was.

was it your face? yes. your intellect and superb intuition? also yes. maybe it was the sex?? definitely yes. god, he’s not that shallow is he?

maybe it was your bitter and cold personality. your hurtful comebacks during arguments, or even minor disagreements. or it could be all the times he’s woken up to an empty bed after a night spent with you.

as much as he’d like to say it’s not the latter — he loves it and you know that, of course. the back and forth, the fights that last anywhere from an hour to several months. hell, he even loves your sharp words, but only because they’re coming from your beautiful mouth.

you knew you weren’t the nicest person, actually pretty much everybody knows that. i mean, your cunning remarks and bitterness are what have gotten you this far, after all. to be fair, you’ve admitted to being sly and rude many times before. sooo maybe its his fault..?

of course you’re working on it tho (as you have been for years), he knows this. he keeps this in mind as you try to get the last word in, slamming his door immediately after. it’s times like those where he feels he doesn’t know you anymore. where he feels the need to ask who’ve you become.

but when it was good, it was really good. late nights and early mornings spent with you might be worth all the trouble.

even though you were a bit of a bitch, you knew how to love. you knew exactly what to say and when to say it. you’re affectionate and loving and sweet and caring and god, he’ll never feel anything like it ever again.

and that’s why he feels the need to keep trying to make it work with you. why he’ll always try to make it work.

just to be completely clear, the amount of military power and political influence Israel has has NOTHING to do with its settlers being Jewish. Israel is a force for American & European interests in the region and they're just doing what America does and allows/encourages its close allies to do.

war crimes aren't considered war crimes when someone America finds useful is doing them. european and american pushback against anyone criticizing Israeli apartheid & genocide is 100% because these crimes are useful to American & European hegemony.

Governments that are deeply antisemitic, like France, aren't suddenly caring about Jewish people. Jewish people, persecuted the world over, don't hold some kind of hegemonic power outside of Israel.

The state of Israel and its attendant brutal treatment of the locals are both incredibly useful to the US, and American hegemony means we're expected to celebrate both.

not bc they're Jewish. this isn't a break in the pattern of western antisemitism and it's not evidence that antisemitism doesn't exist.

it's just like how you could get fired for saying shit against the US war in Afghanistan when i was growing up. it is 100% about US military and political interests (ok slightly western europe too but lbr)

got a worm nibbling my brain. can someone help me find a piece of obscure media?

webcomic/indie comic from the 2010s. basically a sci-fi short story about a young girl (with red hair?) who was being raised by scientists as part of an experiment. she receives a haircut/has her head shaved, in preparation for her annual brain scan/testing. it is revealed that while her body is human, her "brain" is artificial, made of computer implants throughout her skull and spine. at some point her biological mother (also a scientist on the same campus?) encounters her and is repulsed, viewing her as a machine who has murdered her daughter.

it was very poignant and it bruised my heart and i can NOT find it anywhere

♪ Dirty Little Secret - The All-American Rejects

Do you remember when I said a while ago that a playlist with 6 songs didn’t sit well with me, so I had a way to add more? This is that way. I’ve put too much though into this universe where every kiss is Noco, so I’m making sketch pages for the comics respective episode, starting with Greeces Pieces!

No one even kisses in this episode, but the reveal plot point was WAY too important and WAY too interesting to ignore. The reveal comic will come eventually, but for now here’s the rest of the episode!!

For funsies here’s my notes about this portion, directly copy pasted from my notes app:

* Noah death glares Tyler, threatening him into silence. Alejandro notices.

* When Heather and Alejandro bicker before landing, Noah shoots Cody a look, saying “they’re crazy” with his eyes. Cody giggles back at him. Sierra notices.

* She questions him about it, not knowing Noah and Cody were friends. Cody awkwardly reaffirms yeah they’re just friends!! Sierra accepts this answer despite Cody stumbling through it. Oopsies I ended up changing this one. I’ll explain why later.

* Noah competes in the one on one turned 3v3 duel, Owen using him as a weapon. Well intentioned, of course. They end up winning, and they share the two medals Owen won in the original.

* Noah ends up flying across the arena, landing on Cody by accident. They pause for two seconds maximum, and stutter and stumble standing up. Alejandro notices and starts putting the pieces together of what might of happened.

* (By the end of the episode he’s positive he knows, so he’s not really shocked when Tyler actually says it.)

* The song of the episode is sung by Courtney and Duncan, about what don’t ask me. Courtney wins that challenge for the Amazons.

* Heather and Alejandro still compete in the hurdles challenge and Heather still wins, leading to the tiebreaker.
