Favorite Final Fantasy Music (FFXI - Base Game)

I'm retiring the part joke here now I think, and for good reason. You see the title, right? Base Game? I will explain in a moment.

I love FFXI. I have very fond memories watching it being played growing up (some of the only fond memories I have at times hahaaaaa), and that love very much influences the feelings I have for it nowadays. It's absolutely an aged game. It is 100% a game of its time, and I'm ok with that! I play it when I want to chill out, mindlessly grind, and listen to some chill beats; It is such a vibe of a game. It also has a really cool world, story, and characters, and for that to all the people that make "every FF game" lists of all types and you exclude XI? I will find you. The main composers other than Uematsu in this game were Naoshi Mizuta and Kumi Tanioka, who later do Stranger of Paradise and Crystal Chronicles, respectively (those are at least my favorite bits they do)

As XI is an MMO, it is split up into several expansions, and some add-on content. It's a huge game, and I can't do it justice by only doing 5 songs from the whole thing, so I'm going to split this up into a few parts, one for every expansion (plus maybe a bonus one for the add-ons and things that don't quite fit) (this is also why I can't keep doing the part joke cause then XII is gonna be like part 17 and that's fucked). It's XI week! Let's start with the base game :)

5. Despair (Memoro de la Ŝtono) You might be wondering, What The Fuck is that title? Memoro de la Ŝtono is the vocal part of the opening, and its motifs are used in several different songs. This version specifically is one of my favorites. It plays in a few different cutscenes so when it appears it's like a nice treat. I absolutely love the synth in this whole track, the heavy backing, the cool harpsichord, and the part in the middle where it just goes ham on the keys. It does really fit well with the Despair name, but also like it's kind of a jam?

4. Battle Theme Something cool about XI is that it has different battle themes depending on where you are and if you're in a group or not. This is the general battle theme when you aren't in a party (so for that reason ironically you're probably not going to hear it much considering most of this game needs a party). I love the intro still giving you that classic FF build up, but in a unique way. The whole song sounds almost like a band marching you out for war, with the snare and the flute especially. Another really cool part is when it gets less upbeat, the flute is giving you a steady yet nervous backing while the trumpet plays its heart out.

3. Awakening Yooooooooo the first final boss theme of this game. When I actually played XI myself and not through the eyes of a child watching, it was in the modern day with trusts, basically soloing it. Catch me sitting awkwardly regenerating HP while the Actual Final Boss is killing all of my ghost friends who can't do shit: it was very funny. ANYWAYS, this song is so cool. Super heavy on percussion, and the toms have a really awesome bouncy feel to them. This whole song takes the Shadow Lord's main theme, keeps a lot of the same sounds and melodies, but transforms it into a battle theme expertly. This is also a really fun song to play in Theatrhythm with the melody hitting you with a lot of triplets.

2. The Republic of Bastok One of my favorite memories of this game is seeing Bastok being wandered around. When I finally decided to pick it back up as an adult, the moment I heard this song I got really emotional and happy. The percussion with the timpani and claves really gives you the feel of a bustling city, and the melody is an absolute joy to my ears; making you feel like everything is right and happy, walking through the city as people build and craft. I really don't have much else to say about this song, it never fails to bring a genuine smile to my face.

1. Vana'diel March Vana'diel March absolutely does that thing that music does where when a specific instrument plays some specific notes, it is like, scientifically calculated to pull on your heartstrings. One day I will figure out what this term is called cause I know it has to exist. This is the title screen music; every expansion has its own unique theme, but the basic one has always been my favorite. March is a perfect word for this song, cause the intro which becomes the backing gives you that feel; imagine the end of the opening cutscene where you see the huge army walking together? That's this song. The trumpet comes in with a beautiful solo, going into the prelude showing you that this is still Final Fantasy. Bring in the rest of the orchestra to create a grand feeling of adventure, saying to you: "Hey, this is a huge world that you're about to enter. Think of this as you walk through it." It's beautiful, and this song is almost like a musical summary of why I love this game, in a way.

Ff7r2 review , full spoilers, TL:Dr; it's shit

Ch1 it's fine, graphics kept glitching out (got patched), Zack is a dick who leaves red to die in a fire after red saves aerith

Ch2 so much filler "have a card deck to show it's open world" *gives you 3 opponents over the next 12 hours* get chocobo to skip boss, fail to skip boss, your cloud is shit so dies but "um um, wrong timeline, it's dead now"

Ch3 nothing much happens

Ch4: shitty bird enemies with a unblockabke 70% hp attack, that dodges aren't long enough to avoid, we save the guy we want to kill, berate the person who tried to kill him, then team up with them, making everyone think we were assasins

Ch5 card game tournament arc

Ch6 "go to beach" 1) get swimsuit, 2) to get swimsuit you must complete two mini games , 3) switch party, 4) get swimsuit, 5) you must complete two minigames. Barret isn't allowed to be topless, maybe because he's 'bara' build in a Japanese game?

Ch7 honestly can't really much,

Ch8 gold saucer, pretty accurate, topless bara white guy, solo Barret fight Vs dyne is a shambles

Ch9 best 30mins of plot in game, followed by 6 hours of the worse designed map known to man, which instantly destroys all karma gained from the 30mins. Cid has entire personality removed and replaced with "upbeat happy pilot"

Ch10 scholars are sexist & entitled, and are like "all corps are bad, let's pray for change" but change mind eventually(regarding the sexist/entitled but), which is niceish. Map is a bit ass as it has 18 different heights

Ch11 nibelheim reveal is underwhelming, Vincent reveal is PS1 accurate, floating coffin & all, which is great in super hd. We destroy cids plane, he doesn't mind and stays happy.

Ch12 they stuff a 30min minigame into the date, despite ignoring tifa/aerith as much as possible without destroying quests, and doing maximum combos & choices & party for yuffie, I get tifa. The climax of date is a super mid song & lyrics,

Ch13 so many inconstances I thought they were plot (they were not) "I'm going to wait at boat & get it repaired""will you be ok?""yes" 4mins later he's next to you in CS at dungeon. Party gets split up, so you do 10mins busywork (not puzzles, just holding down buttons in orders given to you), then it does 'several hours earlier' and switches to party 10mins ago. Then there is quick 5mins filler of "this is why everyone is depressed btw", that was done at at point that my investment in game was so low, I just wanted past

Ch14 chucking in as many OG last boss & advent children reference as can fit, while the bosses themselves are underwhelming and deal less than the ones 3 chapters ago. Aeriths voice actor appears to have given up, and gone super flat on line delivery.

80 hours of game play, 8 hours of plot, 1 hour of enjoyment.

If you are an FF player you'd buy it anyway, if not, don't

Watched American Psycho today with some cheese-heavy pizza and coke and it feels like it

I decided to post here whenever I acquaint myself with a piece of (pop)culture so that I can remember that there are grounds to say I have made progress in the last 15 years or so :D Otherwise I'll just always think that my audiovisual knowledge consists of HP, Mean Girls and LotR only and that I cannot participate any discussions outside of these topics :D

This does not mean that my analyzing skills would be any sharp or that I would necessarily even try to make intellectual analysis or say something new or well thought out about the piece

I'm simply trying to jot down SOMETHING going through my mind

And today I would like to start with a thought flow because I've already formed so many sentences:

Well... yeah. That's what that looked like. 3/5 because I wouldn't watch it again or really recommend it tbh but there was some good acting and it came with a smooth finish/directing. And the third point for beautiful business cards.

Prologue

All of the professors thought Peter and Tony were an odd pair. Frankly, they were odd in general, especially for Ravenclaws. Peter's shyness and loyalty was more reminiscent of a Hufflepuff while Tony's boldness favored Gryffindor, and yet, the two of them were geniuses and the house of Rowena claimed them both.

And yet, Dumbledore's eyes would always twinkle when the other professors brought up the pair's latest escapade and remind them that the sorting hat didn't make mistakes. They belonged in Ravenclaw, even if no one else could see why yet.

Of Frogs and Men

If you asked Tony or Peter which house they belonged in, they'd simply shrug. To them, it didn't matter what colors they wore, only that no one interrupted their latest experiments. Their classmates never did understand the fascination a wizard could have with science, but very few of them were born to muggle families, and even fewer had the intelligence to realize what could be accomplished if you could combine the two.

However, in order to do that, they first had to master them both. And like the true scientists they were, they approached it methodically, one topic at a time, one new spell at a time, until they had learned all that the library could provide. Then they started trying to make their own.

"Are you sure this is going to work?" Tony asked, reading through Peter's notes again. "Normally, you need a connection to summon anything."

"The connection is knowing the composition of the creature, its base components, and its key traits to lock in on the nearest one," Peter retorted. "It's not like wild animals have complex souls or personalities we're looking to quantify."

"Ok, but if this goes wrong, who knows what you'll get."

"My summoning circle specifies exactly what size, shape, and composition I'm calling to me. At worst, I'll get a different lizard," Peter said, triple checking his circle and spell one last time. "Now shush, I need to get this right."

Tony snorted but stepped back and held his wand at the ready. They were a team, always watching each other's backs, and it had been that way since first year potions with Professor Snape. They'd ensured their schedules matched ever since. Why ruin a good thing after all?

"Ok, here goes nothing," Peter said, drawing in a breath. "VENI RANAE!"

There's a small poof of smoke, and amazingly enough, in the center of all of it, is a frog. Of course, that's the only thing right with the picture.

"Um, Pete, darling, love of my life, is that frog on a unicycle?" Tony asked, trying to hold back his laughter, because of course Peter would somehow summon a frog on a unicycle. In a tux no less, and holding a miniature rose.

"Not a word, Stark," Peter bit out as he looked frantically over his notes. "I just don't understand."

"Understand what, mon cherie?" the frog asked, startling them both.

"The fuck-?"

"Holy shit, Tony! It talks."

"Excuse you, sir, I am not an it," the frog interrupted. "I am most decidedly a he, and I would appreciate it if you would close your mouths. You hardly look like you have the appendage for fly catching and the view is rather ghastly otherwise."

"Oh, I'm sorry," Peter said even as Tony snorted in the background. "I wasn't really expecting to get a frog with a personality and it's a bit shocking. If you'll give me a moment, I'll reverse the summons."

The frog stops and looks at Peter more carefully before bowing gracefully from his unicycle.

"Not to worry, fair prince," the frog said smoothly. "An easy mistake to make. I am Mercutio, and it is my pleasure to make your acquaintance."

Tony eyed the frog with an odd look on his face as Peter continued reading his notes while absentmindedly answering the frog.

"Nice to meet you as well, Mercutio. I'm Peter. That's my boyfriend, Tony."

Tony waved his wand but was dismissed by the frog, causing the older boy to huff.

“I’m sure there’s no need to rush, dear prince,” Mercutio said. “Perhaps we could get to know one another. Go for a night on the town. Dancing, dinner, romantic candlelight?”

That made Peter stop and look at the frog dead on.

“I’m sorry, what did you just say?”Peter asked, because surely he didn’t hear the frog flirting with him.

“A date, my prince, I’m trying to ask you on a date,” Mercutio said, offering up his miniature flower. “It has been so long since I’ve laid eyes on one who shines like the very moon brought to life.”

“Alright, that’s enough out of you, Leggy,” Tony said, striding over. “For one, that’s my boyfriend you’re hitting on there, and for two, this isn’t the Princess and the Frog, so don’t be expecting a kiss, Fly breath.”

“Cad! How dare you try to speak for the prince!” Mercutio retorted, turning back to Peter. “Fai, don't let such a scallywag order you about!”

Peter just chuckled and leaned into Tony.

“Sorry, Mr. Frog, I’m afraid even if this was the Princess and the Frog I’d be of no help,” Peter said with a small grin. “Tony’s already stolen my heart and is the only one I kiss.”

“Of all of the ridiculous things,” the frog muttered. “How dare you summon me here and not at least allow me the pleasure of a date. I am a man of needs and fine tastes, and yet you would seek to deny me?”

“Yeah, I think I’m seeing how you pissed off a witch or wizard and got yourself cursed into a frog,” Tony said with a huff. “How long will it take to send him back, Petey Pie?”

“I’m still looking. It should just be the reverse order but I used the latin for come instead of bring, so now I’m not sure if I should use go or return or leave to send him back.”

Peter looked quite contrite but Tony just rolled his eyes.

“Don’t worry, babe, I got it,” Tony said, an evil smirk crossing his lips. “I know just where to send this thing.”

Tony picked up the loud mouth frog in one hand and had his wand at the ready. Then, before Peter could argue, he opened the window and flung the frog as hard as he could, yelling “VOLITO!” at the last second before the frog was totally out of sight.

“Tony, what did you do?!?!”

“Don’t worry about it,” Tony said, dropping a kiss on Peter’s cheek. “I just flung him towards the Forbidden Forest and cast a float spell on him. With any luck, he’ll drift right into one of the watery parts where he can flirt with lady frogs for the rest of his days.”

“Tony-” Peter tried to chide him but the other boy just stole another kiss before heading back to their workbench.

“So you love me, huh?”

“Of course I do, you idiot.”

Epilogue

Dumbledore chuckled as he read the latest reports from Hagrid. Apparently they had a new resident in the Forbidden Forest, though he seemed to be an unwilling one if the long line of complaints the groundskeeper reported were true. Perhaps he’d reach out to the local witches and see if anyone was missing a frog familiar. It could probably wait though. Much to do and so little time.

Ed fought back nausea. The sense of wrong, wrong, wrong pervaded every sense of his being. How the fuck was any of that equivalent exchange?'

Love me a good post-promised day healing and processing fic. This one focuses a lot on how Al, Ed, Winry, and Roy are all doing immediately post-promised day and the relationships between all those characters.

You ever find a fic that just feels completely catered to you and your interests? I love everything about this fic. Alphonse in Xing and the weird politics he has to maneuver as not only an incredibly skilled foreign alchemist but a close friend of the emperor's - all at a young age. His relationship with Hohenheim and the grief and confusion that comes from never really getting to KNOW Hohenheim and now having to come face to face with the lasting impact his father left on a foreign country. Ling scheming. It's all very, very good.

Features Hohenheim and his one million soul friends and a young awkward Pinako who I want to give SUCH a big hug to. I love it so much.

Briding Her Time in Wait

The wedding date was set. Winry and Ling had screamed at one another for months during the preparation out of a mutual need for their childhood friend and half-sister to have the most incredible wedding in the history of either Amestris or Xing, and as a result the wedding canopy suffered from a unique blend of western and eastern traditions that left guests from both sides of the desert confused and requesting refills on drinks that didn’t exist. Still, the two wedding planners manipulated the day into running smoothly, Ling pulling his Emperor card when necessary, Winry pulling her, well, Winry card when necessary, while Ed and Lan Fan stood awkwardly around the food table making small talk that mostly consisted of complaints about automail. By the time the golden groom was ushered through a beautification process that left him requiring an escort to avoid the various women—and men—attempting to seduce him at the last minute, the guests were settled and the wedding was ready to roll.

Except no one knew where the hell the bride had gone.

I'm always a sucker for Scar and Mei's relationship.

One More Time, With Feeling

In the end the Elric brothers laughed over the irony: The traveller had settled to write books on alchemy while juggling two boisterous children blessed with Rockbell rockheadedness and Elric recklessness, and the settler had taken to travelling between Amestris and Xing for the remainder of his life. It came, really, with having two homes.

This one explores Alphonse's relationship with Mei post-series and is VERY in line with how I picture it. Being in love with a foreign princess in line for the throne with a duty to her people and country would make for a very complicated and often strained relationship.

Magic and Mind by Preelikeswriting

Of all things Edward was prepared for as the day of reckoning grew near, being transported from one world on the edge of war to another was not one of them.

AKA: Edward gets accidentally summoned by Death Eaters, and neither party is happy.

(Pre-Promise Day, HP book 5)

Ok so preface: I rarely like crossover fics and I very rarely like HP crossover fics, but this one just works for me. I think what I like so much about it is that Edward doesn't just get thrown into the world of HP and join the golden trio / order and start fighting Voldemort. Oh no. He does not care about their fight at all. He just wants to get back home and will do anything he needs to to achieve that, even if it makes him look like he's working with Death Eaters or going against Harry and friends.

I think the fun of this fic is that it kind of plays around with the fact that the READER knows who the good guys are of each series and would expect them to join forces. Sure, Ed is the Good Guy of FMA and Harry and friends are the Good Guys of HP, but Ed's goals don't really align with Harry's goals and so they're not really working together, and Ed kind of comes off looking shady af to the HP characters despite the fact that the reader knows why he's doing what he's doing. It's a far more interesting take on Ed goes to HP world than "Ed immediately joins the fight against Voldemort."

The series has three works so far and I haven't finished it, but I really loved the first and what I've read of the second. It also eventually heads into Ed/Draco territory which is not a ship I would have initially read but.....kind of works for me here.

1. finish Trust is Earned

so this is a two in one, because i need to finish this, but i also need to learn from it: never plan a beginning and an ending for a fic and then just dive in. i need structure!! i need plot!! and yet here i am, without either!! as much as i love writing fluff i cannot write multi chap fluff, i am directionless. but i will finish it!!! i originally told myself i'd do it in time for christmas, but that's not going to happen. 2022 it is.

2. finish and publish my regulus black redemption fic

so this one i am excited about. i have learned from past mistakes and have planned the entire thing, every single chapter, but it means so much to me that i'm worried i'll be writing and re-writing and editing forever and just never post. i've never read anything reg focused/centric and it's all very new but i already love it so much and i'm hoping it'll be my best so far. just need to take the plunge! i have decided i will do it today. promise.

3. read non-wolfstar fic

so my issue is that i have a lot of problems with focusing and attention. i love fanfiction! it completely made my life during lockdown when i was in a situation (that i'm unfortunately still in) where i can't watch any tv or films because my mind just can't focus for long enough. imagine lockdown but without netflix or disney+ or anything - that was basically me. subscriptions to every streaming service out there but no brain that will let me watch, i was genuinely just lying in bed every day staring at the ceiling lol. then something or other got me onto ao3 and i've always been a wolfstar fan in concept but never in practice but next thing i know i'm hooked, and i've finally found entertainment my brain is happy with!!! but now i'm seeing all these talented writers with so much to give and i really want to branch out and read something else so i can appreciate them fully but i need a good introduction to trick my brain into caring about something other than wolfstar. i would really love some fic recommendations for non-wolfstar HP ships (and preferably not remus or sirius because wolfstar are endgame) fic that is short/semi short that you think showcases the characters or pairing and could kickstart my interest - please please please!!!!!!!

i honestly think i've only had tumblr for about a month which is insane. i had it when i was a teenager (makes me sound so old, i am still in my 20s ok leave me alone) - this super angsty depressing black and white blog. i'd love to find it but i can't remember my url and i don't have access to my old email :( but anyway, i've not hopped on here for long, but i am so glad i did, because it's great, but i am so out of the loop. so my plan for 2022 is to interact more and get to know everyone (lame)

Meeting With a Stranger is honest to god the first thing i've ever written. it all started after many bottles of wine with two of my greatest friends. we were talking about ff and how we'd love to write, but didn't have the stones to/didn't have anything to say. (they're completely different fandoms - V is all about supernatural (destiel!) and L is a huge k-pop fan (loves BTS)) and i was saying how i'd love to beta work but could never write because my brain was empty of plot. then it got me thinking, and then the first MWaS scene with remus and james came into my mind, and then i would think of some stupid/funny line and be like haha sounds like something remus would do, and then boom, i'm writing a whole ass fic, and the rest is history.

i have a doc with prompts and inspos and scenes that i would to build on, mostly oneshots (i love writing fluffy oneshots so much) including a christmas wolfstar that i'm going to try and write next week and my reggie redemption fic eek! so i think this one will be my easiest goal only because now i've started, i canny stop

6. beta fics

i want to beta fics!!!!!!! in reality i want to live out my secret dream job of being an editor. i've never beta'd a fic and i'm not sure what the level of involvement is but it's something i really want to start in '22 so... if anyone is in need of a beta hit me up in 2022 :D

Ok so I went to see Harry Potter and the cursed child and OMG IT WAS SO GAY

I think they might change the play up a bit depending on what city they’re in because that never would have passed with a conservative crowd (also according to my sister, in the books Rose is Scorpius’s love interest but they had like two interactions).

Here are some examples of why it was really gay

So like Scorpius was being attacked by dementors and Sirius told him to think of something that made him happy—someone. So he thought of Albus and he broke free. Later in the play when he was asked who he was fighting for he said it was Albus. Kinda sus no… Albus on the other hand was talking to Harry(his dad) and was like “you know he(Scorpius) is the most important person in my life and probably always will be” and Harry was like “I cant understand your mind but I can try to understand your heart” AHAHAHAHAHHHHHHHHHHH ALSO WHEN Delphi had the two of them as her prisoners(in a sense) she was like “I always thought your(Albus) weakness was you were always trying to impress your father but no, it was love” and she said this WHILE TALKING ABOUT SCORPIUS! WHY WOULD SHE SAY THAT IF THEY WERE JUST FRIENDS?!?!? Then later after everything happened and stuff Scorpius asked Rose to be his friend and she declined (for context she doesn’t like the two of them) and so they were laughing about it because Scorpius was convinced he could “build a palace of harmony” with her and then Albus grabs his arms (like they’re facing each other on these stairs so right now they are ONE STEP APART) and he says “is that who you want in your palace?” WHAT THE FUCK!?!??! DOES THAT IN ANY WAY SEEM PLATONIC AND STRAIGHT TO YOU?!?! AND THEN of course Rose heard all of this from where she was under the stairs and came out and saw them hand-in-hand, their faces a foot apart from each other, and they got all embarrassed and pulled apart then she was like “its only weird if you make it weird”. Istg I went with my friend and she was literally about to throw hands cuz they didnt kiss. This was all only a FRACTION of the moments completely ignoring the amount of sexual tensions there was back when they were facing each other on the stairs after being forced to separate and then when they hid under the invisibility cloak together, talking for the first time after the separation and when they met at the astronomy tower and Albus slowly inched over closer to Scorpius and even way at the beginning when they first met and Albus decided to sit with Scorpius even though there were bad rumors about him and Rose told him to stay away and the fact that he denied that he was doing it for with and got shy like AAAHAHHHHHHHHH!!! It was honestly like watching a slow burn ff that was dropped halfway through so you never know if the main pairing get together or not!

Honestly though besides all this it was really good. I thought I wouldn’t like it because of the things I’d heard but while the plot wasn’t my favorite the visuals were absolutely amazing!! AMAZING PRODUCTION! The transitions were so quick you couldn’t see them and the was they made the magic look real was so incredible. There was one moment when dementors first appeared and one of them flew over the crowd. The was breathtaking. Definitely worth it. Of course there was also much more to it than just Albus and Scorpius’ relationship. If you ever get the chance to watch it, do it. Its an amazing experience.

Netlfix, seriously, just go ahead and announce season 2 because we ALL want it. I NEED it so badly just, do it do it do it.

In all seriousness, as for as YA book adaptation, this is top notch if not the best adaptation I've seen. The cast was A+, nailing the characters so beautifully and bringing life to some that I really didn't fully appreciate in the books. Specifically Archie with Mal, credits to him and the writers (and Leigh) for really working to make him a stronger, fully developed character. It was so well done and I am really rooting for them more so than I was in the books.

Crow wise. Brilliant. Absolutely fucking brilliant. Kit, Freddy, Amita, Danielle, Calahan; literally the most perfect casting. Period. I was so incredibly nervous when the show was announced how casting would go for the crows. They're my favorites, ones that I really treasured and when I tell you just the cast photo I had a feeling this was going to go well. Well was an understatement. I was absolutely blown away by how well they nailed the Crows. The humor, the small gestures, the teasing and comments; absolutely perfect. I have only one complaint, the same as Kit: GIVE ME WYLAN!!!

Also,Jessie as Alina, round of applause as well. I didn't mind her character in the book, but in the show I felt more connected and really was cheering for her and I have to give that to Jessie. Like Archie, she did a great job bringing the character to life and making her enjoyable, more fully developed tbh. I don't even need to go into Ben because I despise the Darkling as much as I did in the books so I'd say he was fucking brilliant.

The fact their budget was limited, they somehow was able to create a world so beautiful so incredibly well done and oddly inviting. The costumes, the sets, even the Fold looked nearly inviting. It all seemed so well done, so well put together and as I imagined it for the most part. The display of Grisha power was not corny but subtle and well created, not overdone like some like to do. It was believable and so cool to see displayed on tv.

Honest to god this is, to me at least, by far the best YA book adaptation in a long, LONG time. This coming from a HP, Twilight, Series of Unfortunate Events fan. I've seen YA books fail so badly (Euragon, ugh the heartbreak of that disaster) or just, be so flat it hurts...looking at you Twilight. Some having a cast that just, despises the entire book and movie all together, others so well connected and done so brilliantly only for the story to be torn to bits in some parts that you're left wondering if you read the same book at times (HP, never forgive you for that final battle scene, wtf was even that??). But for real, this had the perfect cast, perfect sets & editing, amazing music, fantastic writing to piece it all together and overall was just...absolutely amazing. Definitely going to be something I rewatch over and over and over again till the next season.

3 Have you ever unfollowed someone over a fandom opinion?

Yes when they were being a jerk about it. I never mind different hc than mine or even meta I don't particularly share because I feel like even when you disagree you can take something from the other person's interpretation, that it's good to see how other people interpret stuff... But when people are starting to be aggressive about it and attack you for not sharing their hc or meta... I mean, you know as a general rule, I usually have a 3 strikes policy when it comes to that kind of things... When you start noticing a blog on your dash more and more because what they post annoys you (fandom opinions or otherwise), it's usually not a good sign, if something disturbs me 3 times, I usually unfollow because I like my dash to be a safe place and I don't want to feel attacked.

More specifically about fandom opinions, I think it happened to me 2 times with thg, early on when I first joined. It happened a lot more when I was really into the 100. Damn that fandom had a lot of opinions and a lot of blogs weren't bothering to be nice about them XD They attacked each other, they attacked people, they ganged up on people... I had my own group of people and, you know what, I got out because I didn't like what they were doing or the person it made me when I was with them. Bad fandom experience happens to everyone I guess and it also happens that you think you have found the only good people in that fandom but it turns out they're just the exact same kind of bullies...

Basically, I'm all about unfollowing when you feel like the contents on the blog aren't good for you... And there's nothing wrong with that at all. If you're going to get angry every time you see a post by one of those people there's no point following them in the first place.

6 Has fandom ever made you enjoy a pairing you previously hated?*

Mmmm I've already said a few times that I'm game for almost anything in the HP fandom because there are some aaaaawesome fic out there and sometimes you will find one of them and it will make you ship something you never knew you could. I have read "When a Lioness fights" (I don't remember the author sorry but it was on ff) and suddenly I may or may not have read quite a few Snape/hermione XD I wouldn't say I ship it but there are some really good fics that made it seem very probable.

I'm not sure if there's another pairing like that though because I don't tend to hate on pairings usually... Mostly, I dislike and I avoid...

I guess one pairing I really wasn't a fan of was Molly/sherlock but I've seen a few piece of artworks and fics around that made me think "ok they could be cute"...

Ah yes I also wasn't a fan of 12/Clara in a romantic sense but fandom completely turned me around on that one XD I do ship it now...

An we are off again. Three zones to go through to get to Hammerlocke, let's see what we get.

Stony Wilderness it is snowing, and we get Sneasel, which is a dupe so let's try for a second one. It's a Chubcoo.

Oreo - Chubcoo (m) Slush Rush Sassy (SDf up / Spd down) “It scatters things often!”

Giant's Cap is sunny (thank god) and we get Lombre! Wasn’t expecting this.

Pina Colada - Lombre (m) Rain Dish Docile (no change) “It's impetuous and silly!”

Lastly Hammerlocke Hills is raining and we get Pelipper. Meh.

Febreeze - Peilipper (f) Drizzle Modest (SAk up / Atk down) “It's very finicky!” Rainy Mark

This is the first Pokemon I’ve caught that had a mark on it, but it's not enough to warrant putting Pelipper on my team.

I see Bede and the Chairman in the middle of Hammerlocke, but let's do some exploring before story time. First up, a house with a Blakckbelt and a level 2 Cottonee. Um ok.

Oh fuck. Oh fuck. I forgot about Endevour. It left Snapper with 1 HP! That could have been a disaster!

I’m wary about going into the Battle Cafe. I know they're double battles against fairy types, and the only effective move I have at the moment is Acid on a baby Pokemon. So I’ll give that a miss for the moment, maybe come back when Toxel has evolved and I have some Steel moves somewhere.

Mmm, Chairman Rose knows exactly what he's doing walking around the city in those shorts. There's a guy outside the far left Pokemon Centre, trying to meet someone. Maybe if Chairman Rose spent more time on Grindr he wouldn’t want to resurrect ancient deities.

I wish we had a chance to explore more of the castle part of Hammerlocke. There are loads of paths and stairwells with gates on them that look like they should open up.

Anyway, let’s see what Route 6 has on offer, thankfully not another damn Ice type.

Ok finally back to Route 6 and our encounter is a Heatmor! Interesting, I have genuinely never used this Pokemon before.

Otis - Heatmor (m) Flash Fire Modest (SAk up / Atk down) “It takes plenty of siestas!” Rowdy Mark

I think I’m going to swap out Carcoal for Heatmor. It has better stats and isn’t four times weak to Water and Ground. There's a TM for Fire Spin in the Hammerlocke shop too, and whilst it's not the greatest attack it should cover Heatmor until it learns something else.

While I’m back here, I’ll check the Move Relearner for my newly evolved Pokemon too. Heatmor can relearn Incinerate, so Fire Spin isn't needed now. If money weren’t so easy to come by I might be upset about spending 10k.

Get to the end of Route 6 and the dumb fuck trainer has his Koffing use Self Destruct, good thing I swapped Otis out for Snapper otherwise that could have been a short career again.

I like Stow-on-Side, it's good a good look to it. No encounters here though, so I'll head up to the mushroom forest bit and see if I can catch a Psychic, Ghost or Dark type and not another useless bird or something.

Fine, Glimwood Tangle is out of the question until I beat Allister. Going to go train a bit.

Got everyone up to 35-36 and raided a few dens to get some TRs that really didn’t help a great deal with moves. A lot of my team have totally the wrong natures, boosting Attack when Special Attack would be better and vice versa (Toxtricity being a prime example). But we'll see where we go.

Also Drumroll has evolved into a Rillaboom. This play through is notably the first time I have used one of the starters, as I generally dislike all three in this game.

Time to hit the Gym.

The trainers didn’t put up much of a fight, but I’m wary of GMax Gengar doing a lot of damage because I don’t have anything that resists Ghost attacks. I hope Drednaw will be fast enough to get off a Max Darkness and survive anything Gengar throws at her.

Not faster than Gengar, but Gengar used Max Ooze which Snapper resists, and the Max Darkness KO'd it.

I'm half way through the Gym Challenge. I have two zones left to explore in the Wild Area (Dusty Bowl and Giant's Mirror) not counting the two I need to cross water to reach. I’m in no immediate need for new Pokemon right now, so I’ll see what the weather is like on them going forward and visit when it's not snowing or raining.

I love Ballonlea, it's such an amazing looking town. This is the best looking location in the entire game, it's like all the design budget went here instead of being shared out elsewhere.

Got some eviolite, useless atm but you never know if I might need it in the future.

Let’s take on Opal and get that out of the way.

A trainer's Morgrem almost knocked out Chamomile with an attack, but luckily I was faster and able to take it down first. Close though.

Bullseye makes quick work of both Weezing and Mawile, and Opal's stat boosts certainly don’t go amiss. I was intending to use Jett here, but with Bullseye's Stamina boosting its defence, plus a speed and special defence boost from Opal she might not be needed.

It took three Max Steelspike's but Alcreamie fell to Bullseye. Opal only asked two of her three questions.

Back to Hammerlocke and Chairman Rose's Grindr hook-up is still waiting at the Pokecentre. I think now that I’m back I’ll do the Battle Cafe I skipped last time.

Though it is refreshing to hear characters say “this isn’t for kids to worry about” instead of the fate of the universe resting firmly on your shoulders while the elite trainers sit and watch as is the norm in most Pokemon games.

Route encounter is a Corviknight, so another dupe. Next one is a Shelmet. Ok, I like Shelmet, but being unable to evolve it makes it pretty useless.

Kiniggit is a bad name I can't enter. I assume it's because the French used it as an insult against King Arthur during his quest for the Holy Grail.

I’m playing XV Comrades, and trying my best to beat Ardyn and Ravus, but I have made a few observations about their move sets that I think are interesting??

Ardyn:

He doesn’t use weapons unless he’s using his armiger.

He seems to be in a “Mage” role.

Still has that blasty move from his fight with Noctis.

Fire spells are everywhere

 but maybe that’s Gutsco.

His kicks are deadly and he got legs for days.

Ok, but here’s where I get all “LET’S THINK ABOUT THIS” for a second. 

The fact Ardyn seems to rely heavily on spells here is rather interesting to me. Especially considering that this patch came out before his dlc. Now, consider, in the past, Ardyn was said to be a kind and benevolent king, right? And a “sage” at that.

Well, on the Final Fantasy wiki, the job description goes as such:

The Sage (賢者, Kenja?) is a job class that has appeared in a number of games in the Final Fantasy series. The sage could be considered the ultimate Red Mage, being able to cast both Black and White Magic. However, the Sage is physically very weak with virtually no prowess with weapons. They also have low HP and speed and weak physical defenses as most mage-type classes do. Sometimes they have a lower MP total than a regular mage, but this is compensated by their ability to use any kind of magic from both schools unlike the regular Red Mage that has a limited pool.

Now, granted that Ardyn certainly doesn’t have low hp, and certainly couldn’t be considered weak, the fact remains that if you take his healer past, which would be categorized as White Magic, and his normal spells, which would seem to be Black Magic, if this holds to form, it’s quite possible that Ardyn is heavily reliant on spells and didn’t quite master the sword until later.

Another thing to note is that Ardyn doesn’t have a sword of his own, perhaps in the past he never needed one or simply couldn’t wield it?? Because if the above information is applied to the XV universe, than it’s quite possible little Ardyn was a dork who couldn’t use weapons. 

Meanwhile, his brother exists, wielding that big ass sword...all the more reason to add to the grudge because that smug ass bitch wouldn’t stop rubbing it in.

Perhaps Ardyn is why the shield of the king existed to begin with, because if their king couldn’t wield a thing...? How scary would that be?

Ravus:

I’ve only activated it once, but he has a strange move where he throws out his arms and light or something shoots out and damages you.

HE LEAPS UP HIGH BOIIIII

Still has that power of the storm surging through his blade.

Zantetsuken is one of his moves and it is terrifying.

I believe he has called down lightning once?? That or it was one of his annoying movesets that has it shoot out of the ground.

And time for me to talk about this too!! 

Ok, now, I have no idea what Ravus’ class would be, a part of me nearly classed him as a “Ravager” because lol Ravus the Ravager” because of the description being;

They specialize in elemental abilities, including physical attacks and magic spells.

Which seems to fit, given how he can’t go ten seconds without electrocuting me and his physical attacks are well versed. 

And it’s meaning has a French orgin as well, so it would be poetic to cast ‘Fleuret’ as such.

A ravager is a person who causes severe and extensive damage to, or is the destructive effects of something. From French ravage ("ravage, havoc, spoil").

However, the ravager role is meant to build chain gauges, and Ravus is not a team player.

I also nearly typed him as a Templar, given the combination of physical attack and magicks, and the weaker magick part would hold up, since Ravus probably has less of the Oracle powers in him. Also, the description would be well in describing Ravy.

Templars are knights who work close to their church, using a combination of physical weapons and magick. They tend to be stronger than other magic-using jobs, since they can equip heavy armor, but they also have weaker magick stats compared to other magic jobs.

However, that doesn’t seem to fit for me either, so I‘m on the fence with this one!

OK! Ramble is over, onto my “Let’s think about this!” thing!

The light move. 

THE LIGHT MOVE IS MAKING ME STRANGELY HYPED?? 

Ok, so hear me out, none of Ravus’ attacks are light colored, unless they’re his sword swipes, granted, this could just be lightning again, but a lighter purple, but what if it’s not??

Ravus is the blood of the Oracle, right? If he had a light based move in his arsenal which happened to be for offensive, would it be all that surprising? The animation I saw, (or at least, what I tried to see, I was dying) looked an awful lot like the healing animation used for “Healing Light” 

I have nothing to add to that, I just thought it was interesting.

Also, I do have a little thing with his Zantetsuken, I don’t know why but I find it interesting that Ravus is one, if not the only, character to have a physical attack from the other ff’s. 

I don’t know, this is just my rambling, take from it what you will! I was dying a lot to these two, still haven’t beaten them rip.

do i tell my family "i don't like harry potter anymore"??

they always get me hp merch for bdays & xmas. esp. now that we did konmari i already have anxiety about getting gifts even tho my bday/xmas are months away

i have a mug & a pillow case of hp from middle school that i still love so much but that's how i want harry potter to stay - as a piece of children's media that was important to me then & not a weekly shitshow of the author throwing a dart at a board of Marginalized Identities & the fans applying HP quotes to real life current events in the most tepid ways possible. i got a set of harry potter wine glasses for xmas ffs (something about the super mainstream "i'm still a nerd but hey, i DRINK now" is ssooo offputting to me). how great would it be to just be fond of it & not have it constantly growing & corrupting daily??

but now relatives especially ones i don't see often are like oh, meg likes harry potter, and that's a nice gift giving shortcut yanno? i'm the harry potter cousin. so i feel stuck up & nasty to say i don't want that anymore!

really tho i feel bad saying i generally don't want gifts anymore unless it's a thing i specifically asked for. it feels presumptuous but so much of what i got rid of was old gifts it feels bad. ik what marie kondo said abt gifts' purpose being an exchange of pleasure when they were given so it's ok to get rid of them after, and that made sense for getting rid of existing gifts in my house. but going forward it feels kind of dishonest.

otoh k's sister just came back from universal studios & got us a foot tall dobby statue. which i thought was weird and terrible but k & i have been startled by it several times since we brought it home bc it is so weird & terrible that it's actually kinda funny to have it in the house. i think i'm gonna move it around periodically

Arnav

"Thank you, Sir. We're ... we're in your debt."

Mohan's brother — Ravi — shook Arnav's hand for the sixth time since they'd arrived.

"Arnav," he corrected, "and Mohan is a part of our household. I'll take care of everything."

Ravi nodded and turned towards the room Mohan was resting in. Di, Khushi and Payal had exhausted the man with their basket of home-made foodstuffs and collection of sundry items for "comfort". The women now sat next to the sickbed, conversing in hushed whispers as Mohan slept. Perhaps Khushi noticed his stare because she chose that moment to look up. She smiled serenely, blushing a little, before replying to whatever her sister asked her.

Arnav studied his driver from the doorway. Mohan was pale. His left leg was in a cast, as was his left wrist. There was a bandage around his head, and another hidden under his shirt. He had suffered a mild concussion, three fractures, a few broken ribs and a collapsed lung.

"These eight days would've been so much harder if you hadn't called the hospital," Ravi admitted.

Has it only been eight days?

Arnav thought back to their long conversation with Mohan's doctors, "He's recovering well. The doctors are optimistic."

"They mentioned post-traumatic stress," the other man said uncertainly.

"I said I would support your family through everything. I meant it. He saved my sister's life."

"How is Anjali-ji?"

"Recovering."

"The police don't think it was an accident."

Arnav exhaled slowly, "They're still investigating."

In fact, the police investigation was proceeding so slowly that what little faith he had in the public justice system was waning away to nothing. And to add to the stress, Aman had requested an extension of leave to attend the hastily-organised engagement of a younger sister.

Unbelievable.

Not only that Aman had asked, but that he'd agreed.

Arnav was distracted from his thoughts as Khushi withdrew from the women and approached. She wore the sari he'd helped her select, pink with green velvet accents.

That was also eight days ago.

She came to a standstill a short distance away, fiddling with her bangles. Just like her sindoor and mangalsutra, she never failed to wear Mamma's bangles.

"My wife, Khushi," Arnav introduced her, "and Khushi, this is Mohan's brother, Ravi."

"Namaste," Khushi brought her hands together, "How are you?"

"Fine, thank you for visiting my brother and cheering him up."

"He's like family, Ravi-ji, no need to thank us. It made Di feel a lot better to visit him and see how he's doing. Arnav-ji, I think we're finished. Mohan-ji is sleeping."

Arnav, distracted from his study of the way the sari accentuated the flare of her hips, cleared his throat before he attempted speech, "I'm ready to leave when you are."

"Okay."

She left after flashing him a final smile. He watched the sway of her hips as she walked away.

He'd been momentarily robbed of speech when she'd stepped out of their bathroom wearing that sari this morning. She'd paired it with a gold blouse with puffed sleeves and pompoms, and wore a simple gold necklace that Di had gifted her. Her hair fell in a sleek ebony waterfall down her back, begging his hands to tangle in it as they had yesterday.

His attraction to her was taking over, his mind almost continually played out one impossible (and sensual) fantasy after another. The latest had involved her against the wall, twisting her hands in his hair as he'd kissed and sucked and bitten his way down her body. Her short, gasping breaths had done wonderful things for the bounty hidden under her blouse. She'd moaned when he'd traced her collarbone with his tongue. His hand had wandered down, pushing aside her sari and circling her navel before delighting in the way her muscles had tensed and jumped as he ventured lower to chart new territory. She'd bucked desperately, needing more, and he'd been more than happy to give it to her.

His recollection of the delicious fantasy was broken abruptly as the women exited the room. When Khushi looked at him quizzically, having apparently picked up on his distraction, he shook his head before extending a hand to Ravi.

"I'll stay in touch and keep you informed if there's any new information."

The other man shook his hand vigorously, "Thank you, Sir, uh ... A-Arnav. I'll do the same."

Outside, he helped Di into the car, watching out of the corner of his eye as Khushi hauled herself into the front. For once, she buckled the belt without a reminder. The drive to Shantivan passed without incident, though he noted that Khushi glanced in his direction often. She remained seated after Payal had helped Di out of the car, so he waited with her.

"Is there something you need?" he asked when the other women had disappeared inside.

She looked out the window, nervously twisting her sari in her hands, and spoke softly, "Can you ... can you stay?"

He was confused, "Why?"

"N-n-nothing, forget it."

Khushi reached for the door handle. He stopped her with a hand to her shoulder and offered a compromise.

"I'll come home early, after the meeting."

Love makes us do strange things.

"Okay," Khushi offered him a strained smile as she alighted from the car, "Take care."

He was late.

Despite his best efforts, he was late, and the mid-afternoon Delhi traffic was doing its best to exacerbate his distress. He battered the horn in frustration.

A small part of him argued that it was unreasonable of Khushi to expect that he abandon his obligations towards the company he'd build up from the ground at a moment's notice, but the rest of him hated that he'd broken a promise.

When he was finally in Shantivan, Arnav waved away a passing servant and jogged up the stairs, intending to change before searching for his wife. But what he saw from the doorway froze him in his tracks. The room was dark. Khushi sat on the bed, knees curled against her chest, oblivious to his presence.

"Why me?" she snatched at something next to her and hugged it to her chest with a sob, "Why did Shyam-ji choose me to run his scheme on?"

Any response he could've made was forestalled when he recognised what she held -- his blue shirt. Bands tightened across his chest as guilt roiled in his gut. She looked small and frail and utterly vulnerable. She spoke again before he managed to gather his thoughts.

"And why ... why doesn't Arnav-ji believe me?" Khushi sobbed into the shirt.

She didn't cry delicately. She cried as if her heart was breaking, as if her very soul was wounded, and some part of him realised that it likely was. Arnav's heart filled with sorrow and dread and half a dozen other things he had no names for.

He stepped into the room as Khushi howled into the shirt again, her shoulders shaking violently. "What else ... what else can I do? I t-tried everything. And ..."

Unsurprisingly, she didn't notice him until he was standing beside the bed. Her tear-stained features caused his breath to stall. She was strong, but not strong enough for this, not alone. The realisation brought tears to his eyes as he climbed into the bed to gather her in his arms.

Khushi struggled, pushing on his shoulders and kicking a little, but he ignored the voice of warning in his mind and held tighter. She needed this as much as he did.

"Sssshhhh."

She calmed, the hands that had been pushing him away pulling him closer. Her tears returned, thick and fast as she sobbed into his shoulder.

"Why don't you trust me?" she asked, her voice watery and broken.

And when she said that, he heard the question she did not give voice to.

Why don't you love me?

The full extent of the damage his brother-in-law had caused was suddenly made clear. It was not only the deception of the family and the betrayal of his wedding vows, it was not only the treacherous engagement and subsequent threats, it was not only his abominable lust and avarice.

It was this; the marring of every good memory and the annihilation of every hope.

"What did you think, Arnav? That she wanted you? The dancing, the earring, that kiss by the poolside? Did you think it was real?"

Arnav's tears disappeared into his wife's hair as he took a deep breath. Shyam had extinguished a flame in its infancy, but perhaps he and Khushi still held the tools to rekindle it.

"He ... he told me it was all a lie."

Her sobs quieted, and Arnav took it as a sign to continue.

"He told me you never wanted me. That all of it — the kiss, the dance, the earring — it was all a lie. A deception."

She twisted so they could see each other.

"A distraction," he finished in a whisper, "so I wouldn't notice ..."

"Never!" Khushi's denial was vehement.

"I can't tell anymore," he confessed, "It never goes away, his voice."

There was a brief silence, in which her bottom lip trembled as she placed her hand, palm flat, over his heart. After a few moments, he covered her hand with his to hold it here. She blinked back fresh tears with a sniffle.

"Khushi," he said softly, "Is it necessary to cry over every little thing?"

She gave a watery giggle, clearly remembering the other time he'd asked that — on the day he'd first kissed her by the poolside. She smiled as she shifted her weight to lean against the headboard.

He shifted too and, feeling something sharp underneath him, rescued a small gold star from under his knee. Now that he thought to look, he saw gold and silver stars scattered all over the bed.

"What's this?"

Khushi looked around, "My stars. I wanted to put them above the bed but you ... you don't have anything like that here."

A memory rose to the surface of his mind.

"I was eight years old when my parents died in an accident. I believe my parents have become stars, so I sleep with stars hung over my bed."

"Ahh."

She was speaking to her parents.

He watched the nervous motion of her hands as she spoke, "I ... I mean ... Is it ok-okay?"

"Yeah, it's fine. I can help you if you want."

He called down for HP after urging Khushi to clean herself up in the bathroom and asked the head-servant to bring up a drill and some hooks. When she was done, he took a quick shower before joining her at the foot of the bed. She'd collected all the stars into a pile.

"I'll drill the holes," he offered, "while you tie the stars to the hooks. Then I'll put the hooks into the ceiling."

They worked in companionable silence for a while, but she eventually spoke when he paused in his drilling, "Arnav-ji ... Di thinks I should get a sari for the reception."

"Hmm?"

"It's black and has a pink border. I took a photo of it for you to see."

Arnav lowered the drill, "Why didn't you just buy it?"

"Uhh," she blushed, avoiding his eyes, "It's your money, I thought I would show you first."

"Just buy it next time."

They both froze, watching each other warily as the words seemed to echo between them.

Next time.

He wondered if she knew how much he wanted to step down from the bed, if she knew how much he wanted to kiss her, if she knew how much he wanted to promise there would be a next time, and many more after that.

Forever.

He turned back to his task, now hyper-aware of her stare as he worked. Glancing down, he saw that she focussed not on his hands, but on his midriff, where his shirt had ridden up.

He cleared his throat and watched as she jumped a little before meeting his eyes. He grinned. She blushed.

And for the first time in a long time, he felt that they were going to be okay.

I hope you have been busy doing wonderful things and not anything bad. How are you? Is spring where you are?

I am really enjoying OFMD, it is hilarious and very cute, i loved the episode with the french nobles and how Edward watched Stede is just *chef's kiss". The pining, the self doubt, their past... Just love it and i am excited for the last episodes and for the next season too :) which are your favourite characters/storylines?

I hope Spanish Jackie will have more scenes bc she is hilarious and the show needs more women (also, i like very much Stede's wife, she really tried and i hope she will have her own happy ending, maybe with a lighthouse keeper).

Also, i am not very much into dc/marvel etc, but i absolutely adored Peacemaker (i know in the last Suicide Squad he was really hated, but trust me, this show is heartbreaking while being crass and very action packed). And Vigilante is a murderous kitten.

Ok, now, about KxK, have you read Misbehavin' by Amuly? Bc i really recommend it.

I think Keefe is living with Kelvin but still keeping his flat. They are totally not having the direct cohabitation talk, just once day Kelvin says it's stupid to pay for a flat he is never in while everything Keefe owns is magically already in its drawer. It's just more convenient!

I imagine his apartment a mix of his two lives: he has still bands posters on his walls (but only christian bands, mind you), but also a crucifix, amatorial and saccarine drawings of Jesus and many many photos with Kelvin, with Kelvin and the kids at the summer camp, with Kelvin and the other people who work with the Gemstones etc. What do you think?

Also, what is your dream AU/headcanon about Keefe/Kelvin?

Sincerely, after the BJ's baptism i am terrified about a potential solemn wedding between him and Judy XD The outfits would be so extravagant, maybe a concert during the reception? Surely a fistfight. It was a bit strange of Judy not having a church wedding bc she looooves being in the spotlight.

Another thing, i would loved if Tiffany would have stayed with her and Bj, they were so lovely together and Tiffany definetely needs a mother. But Baby Billie is hilarious and i look forwards to see more of him:D

I imagined they are all based on some players, but i don't know anything about soccer >.< Yes, his characterization is done wonderfully, he is very three dimensional and his relationships with Phoebe and Keeley are very sweet. I was a bit bummed about the turn their love story is taking lately but i have faith in the writers and even if they will break up (i hope not!) it would be well, with a serious reason. I really like Colin, he is such a Himbo and his friendship with Isaac (another favourite! Loved the scene of the haircut and his clothes! And the Santa's drip, it burned my brain cells).

I wouldn't say Nathan is one of my faves, but his arc is really well made and complex, i dig it. Being him isn't easy but also he ruined what made him a better version of himself. Your opinion?

And yes, Keeley and Rebecca are so wholesome and gentle with each other, a true friendship <3

I begun too, as a 12/13 year old teen, with the HP fandom, at the time in my native language (now i can't read ff in it, nope nope nope) but i was a Hermione/Draco fan, then a Drarry one and ultimately a Draco/Ron ;D After, i specialized in minor characters and i just love my Woods/Flint (if you are interested, check yourtokentrophywife, she is the best), Neville/Blaise and Seamus/Theo (when still i wasn't reading in english, there were many stories about them on my first ff website, but on AO3 they are not shipped a lot :( )

I also was very invested in Hetalia, albeit i read two mangas and saw like three episodes and only after having been captured by the fandom. Very embarassing now >.<

A popular fandom i was never invested in is surely the Supernatural one (never seen an episode) and i never cared about the angel or the hunters at all, their faces are boring XD

OMG how good was Our Flag Means Death?! I was beyond emotional, I binged the whole thing in time for the 2-part finale and it was just so satisfying. They actually did a ROMANCE. I never thought I'd see the day, tbh. So beautiful 😍 God, I really love everyone. The ensemble cast is just perfect! But if I HAD to choose favourites, I'd say...Frenchie, Jim and Olu, Lucius and our boys, Stede and Ed. They're all just so interesting and funny and quirky and a joy to watch. SPANISH JACKIE!! I loved her. I adore Leslie Jones so I can't wait to see more of her in s2 hopefully! Fingers crossed! I particularly enjoyed the treasure-hunt episode, the "this is happening" line had me rolling xD And it was hilarious that they did the clothes swap in their FIRST episode together. Bonkers. Loved it. I really liked how they resolved the storyline with Stede's wife Mary too (what a badass lol) and I'm glad they both got their happiness. I'm actually in the middle of writing a Blackbonnet (Blackstede? What is the official ship name?) fic that's almost done so watch this space 😉

Ooh I've been meaning to watch Peacemaker, it's been on my radar for a while now. Full disclosure, I'm not really a DC watcher either, I haven't seen the new Suicide Squad movie, but pretty much know everything that happens in it lol. Glad you're enjoying it!

Yay more Kelvin x Keefe fics, so exciting! Oh, I completely agree, I think that's exactly what Keefe's apartment is like. Just an amalgamation of his past and present lives with an extra-Christian twist. I imagine he and Kelvin did their whole CSI deep-clean of his house haha. And yeah, I was sad we were robbed of an over-the-top Judy wedding tbh. It could have been Covid-related why we didn't get that scene maybe? But fingers crossed we could get a renewal-of-vows ceremony in the future that'll be just as bonkers. I also loved Aunt Tiffany and her and Judy's dynamic so I definitely want to see more of her and Baby Billy (and Lionel) in the future.

I also love Roy's relationship with Phoebe in Ted Lasso. It's so sweet to see him be a doting uncle (especially as her dad is absent) to her and their dynamic as a trio with Keeley. They're like a little family. I'm also disheartened by the turn in his relationship with Keeley but hope they figure it out in the end. I really liked how they handled Nate, tbh. I think it was a good exploration of how insecurity and power can go to people's heads and sometimes lead them down a bad path. But I also believe that he'll find his way back eventually. Do you ship Ted x Rebecca?

Haha love a multi-shipper in fandoms! I bounced around myself in the Harry Potter one. A big one for me was Wolfstar - Remus x Sirius, I dabbled a bit in Drarry later on too before moving on. I haven't read any from HP in years but miss it every so often.

Oh wow - that's impressive tbh! I watched Supernatural back in the day. I remember sitting down and watching the pilot back in 2005 when I was 14. I eventually stopped watching I think in s8 or 9 though? It's been on my periphery due to Tumblr so I've kept up.

Hmm...a big fandom I never got into really was The Mandalorian even though I love Grogu and Pedro Pascal and have seen so many gifs and clips that I feel like I have seen it lol xD It's in my to-watch list but I just haven't gotten around to it yet.
