Appearance:
Varian has messy long black hair tied in a loose low bun and blue eyes. He keeps himself neat and tidy without a wrinkle in his clothes. He usually keeps the outer jacket of his school uniform left unbuttoned.
Personality:
Varian is the eldest of the triplets. He tries to be responsible for his siblings, and he will look out for them whenever possible. He usually acts as the mediator when they get into arguments.
Background:
Varian grew up in a wealthy family as the eldest of triplets. As the eldest sibling, the burden of being the family heir fell on his shoulders. He holds this to great regards and tries to keep up with his family’s expectations. As a result, he tries to be a good role model for his younger siblings.
Varian was taught how to program by his father. It hadn’t taken him very long to understand it, and he took to it quickly. He started trying to create different programs that would help him remember things he needed to do.
As a result of his achievements, Varian was able to receive anything he wanted from his parents. Caius would often try to spend time with him unless their parents called for him to do something. However, he still wished that Xavi would spend more time with him as well. As a result of that, he would often spend time with his sibling and talk to him about different things he had done for the day.
However, things took a turn when he and his siblings discovered that they could use magic. By the encouragement of their parents, they enrolled at Night Raven College. Varian took this as an opportunity to get closer to his siblings.
Skills and Abilities:
Intelligence: Varian is a very smart person. He is capable of thinking his way through different situations, and he prefers to be the leader.
Born Leader: He dislikes having people tell him how something should be done and will often take charge of the situation.
Technology Expertise: He is an expert about technology. He knows how to fix broken appliances or computers. He also knows how to build computers.
Magical Skill: He is decently skilled in magic, particularly water magic. He has great control over his magic, but he prefers not to use it too often. He does not think reliance on magic is a good thing and encourages other people to do the same.
Enhanced Hearing: He has an enhanced sense of hearing.
Enhanced Sense of Smell: He has an enhanced sense of smell.
Enhanced Physical Strength: He has enhanced physical strength.
Unique Magic:
Varian’s Unique Magic is known as Three Heads Are Better Than One. It is unique in the fact that it is actually shared with his siblings. It allows them to turn into Cerberus. It only works if all three are on board with using it. If one of them falters for even a second, it will not work.
Chant: "Alone I am weak, but together we are strong. Three Heads Are Better Than One!"
Trivia:
As the oldest, Varian is usually the one in charge.
He took a liking to ice cream after trying it when he was strolling through town before.
He is unaware that he is the favorite child.
Varian distrusts Ester.
Ester had gotten glitter in his computer. It was admittedly easy to clean up since he had magic, but he still held a grudge against the fae for it.
He doesn’t like the idea of Xavi being friends with him.
He loves movies and anime.

[justice smith, 25, genderfluid, he/she/they] Did you hear that BUGS BUNNY from LOONEY TOONS is a FRESHMAN at Tooniversity? They major in GENDER STUDIES and you can find them CAUSING PROBLEMS ON PURPOSE WORKING AT THE STUDENT CENTER on most days. I always hear THE CULT OF DIONYSUS BY THE ORION EXPERIENCE playing from their dorm! ( anna, she/her/hers, est)
do you ever meet those types of people who just, like, really like to cause problems?
scratch that. you know nathan fielder, eric andre, jeff goldblum, and the like? he’s like if all of them had a baby -- no, wait, that’s not what i mean. actually, whatever.
he didn’t go to college on the normal path because of course he didn’t - why would he do what everyone else was doing?
he spent a few years travelling, worked some odd jobs, met some odd people, and realized he was the oddest.
one day she sat down in her apartment - well, not her apartment, technically, a friend of a friend of a friend of an enemy of a cousin’s - and watched animal house for the first time and thought, “yeah, i could do that”
they enrolled in classes that same week
they chose gender studies because they thought it would be the funniest to do (also, they really like gender theories, but hush, she would never admit she takes anything seriously)
even i don’t know if she acts based off good or evil intentions, maybe just for the laughs

NASA/Michael DeMocker Whether he’s advising student robotic competitions or managing production of a powerful, new Moon rocket stage, Erick Holsonback meets technical challenges with enthusiasm. Holsonback, a Jacobs Technology employee, is subsystem manager for production and launch operations of the exploration upper stage (EUS) for NASA’s SLS (Space Launch System) rocket. SLS is NASA’s super heavy lift rocket that will launch the agency’s Artemis campaign to the Moon. The exploration upper stage is one of two upgrades to the SLS rocket as it evolves to the Block 1B variant for missions beginning with Artemis IV. Along with the rocket’s new universal stage adapter, the SLS rocket in its Block 1B configuration will be able to send 40% more payload to the Moon in a single launch. Holsonback’s job stretches from setting up production for the future upper stage at NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, where it’s built, to preparing it for launch from the agency’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. “It’s exciting to be part of a capability that will send more crew and cargo to the Moon in a single launch than any other current rocket,” Holsonback said. “That’s going to make operations in the challenging space environment a lot simpler.” Growing up in North Georgia, Holsonback remembers wanting to be an astronaut and turning street cars into hot rods. He figured he’d wind up in the auto industry, until Pratt & Whitney offered him a job working on space shuttle main engine turbomachinery straight out of college in 1997. He briefly left the space business but jumped at a chance to get back in with the SLS Program in 2016 at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama.   “I wanted to come back and do rockets,” he recalled. “It gets in your blood. You’re part of something bigger that just yourself. Through Artemis, we are truly impacting the space program at its foundational level of how we are getting back to the Moon and to Mars.” Holsonback’s enthusiasm for space challenges doesn’t end at the office door. In his free time, Holsonback has mentored and coached his two daughters’ technology challenge competitions. While the challenge is foremost a robotics contest, Holsonback is proud of the lessons in problem solving, technology, and project management he’s helped impart to the team along the way – which he likens to his NASA job. You could say Erick Holsonback is working on the future personally as well as professionally, but it’s hard to beat working on a Moon rocket. “I’ve had some great opportunities with NASA, but my current role is pretty amazing – getting  to be part of building and launching,” he reflected. “I get to play a little part in the overall foundation work that is going to be part of the history of our country for years to come.” NASA is working to land the first woman and first person of color on the Moon under Artemis. SLS is part of NASA’s backbone for deep space exploration, along with the Orion spacecraft, advanced spacesuits and rovers, the Gateway in orbit around the Moon, and commercial human landing systems. SLS is the only rocket that can send Orion, astronauts, and supplies to the Moon in a single launch.

I'm tired of living in the past.
Not living in the past.... obsessing about the past? Looking back at the past? Analyzing my past actions and mistakes?
I have a lot of regrets that I feel still haunt me.
(or is it ONE. One big regret. One mistake that permeates them all? one mistake that still effects me.)
Its frustrating though. When I think of this mistake, Its not the act its self I am regretful of.
I regret what I chose to go to college for. I regret my choice of degree. I had a dream.... A thought of a life I wanted.
I wanted to be in a big city. I knew didn't want to be famous, I didn't even really want to be rich. I just wanted to be close, be behind the scenes of all of the hype. Fame, influence, effecting the masses.
But subtly. Through something practical. Clothing has always been something that everyone wears. We think it is surface level, but the way someone dresses can tell you so much about them.
What they like, who they want to represent to the world, their social status, how they may feel about themselves. It's the armor we put on every day to go out into the world and present ourselves. It is full of so much culture and can reflect the zeitgeist of a time so subtly and intrinsically... Its creative but technical. Its everything I thought I wanted and I just... plunged in.
I didn't fail. I got to where I wanted. I was living in Philadelphia, working for the company of my dreams. I was on my way...
I hated it.
I hated myself.
I was so lonely.
Who was i? What did I believe?
I loved the craft. The people were soul crushing. The industry was greedy. I questioned my ethics every day I went into that office for so many reasons.
I am grateful for my college experience. I met so many different people, went so many different places, learned so much. I got out of it with regret for my degree and a fuck ton.... a FUCK TON of debt I'm still paying off.
I realized through that journey what I want from life. I want to have a cute little house in the middle of nowhere with my dog. I want a green house, I want to grow roses and chicory year round. I want to wake up and see the trees change colors with the seasons, and feel like I have created my place.
(I think i have realized, you can make your own place, you can find your own place, its ok to be 'boring' and enjoy the simple things in life....
the smell of a new book, fresh steeped tea with just the right amount of milk and sugar, laying in the grass on a sunny day, the night sky and seeing Orion, the smell of fresh cut grass, clean laundry, a paintbrush on new canvas)
I want to do the little things I love.
Money Sucks
This is why I regret. This is what effects my life, draws me back into past mistakes, sours all of those memories.
Is holding me back.
I don't even want money. I don't want to be rich. I want to take care of myself and live my life. This is holding me back.'
but.
I want to let it go.
I don't want to linger on this anymore.
I want to take steps to make my life better.
The past is the past, It has led me to who I am today.
I am so grateful. I love my personality. I am finally comfortable in my own skin. I know what I like, I know what I don't like. I know how to make friends, genuine friends. Who love me for me, not a person I am trying to force myself into.
I am so grateful for the experiences I had in college, I would not be the person I am today if I did not have the life I have had. I know that.
And yet...
The only person who can change my mindset is myself. I know that money is a struggle for a lot of people in life, I really can only control so many variables there. I am working on this, slowly.
What I can control right now, every day, every minute, is my mindset. I can try to set aside the criticism for my past self.
(you did what you could with the information you had, hindsight is 20/20, you can't change the past)
I can try to remember the good in those times. To be grateful for the experience.
I can realize, I chased a dream and I reached my goals. Its OK that I wasn't happy in the end, shit happens. I can still be grateful for the journey.
Its just... hard. To bounce back from this. Even when I came home, I have tried to 'use my degree' and stay in a relevant job market, I still feel morally challenged.
I know too much about the industry. People told me 'change it then' but... I just. I didn't want to! I didn't think it was possible, realistic, to try to change it. It's the first time I realized... there are things you can't change. Sometimes you need to burn the whole thing down and start again.
(that's too radical for too many people, an impossible goal and I set out for my rose tinted dreams to come true, not for me to make waves... I was too different, too young, not strong enough in self to think that was realistic.)
So, I left. I could have kept trying, try to get into a more ethical company. Try to start my own business and do it myself. That was never what I wanted.
I can take comfort in that. I am proud that I have realized I was unhappy. I wasn't a failure for not 'fitting in' and 'falling into the hustle', I did a lot. I don't want to try anymore.
So,
I am going to try. Put the past in nice plastic boxes, go into my attic. Organize them nicely, label them up. Leave them there. I can take my favorite memories and leave them in my library to peruse at my leisure. I have read the others enough, its time to put them aside.
Stop dwelling in the past, live in the present and be aware of the future.
I'm gonna go do something I love to do, for myself.
& life moves on

the adam-arrielos legacy pt 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
okidokie so...
in the first photo is the official adams-arrielos family tree. we have carmen arrielos and adam adams. they got married so carmen is "technically adams" now. they had four children: felix adams-arrielos, kimberly adams-arrielos, carmen adams and saffron adams (the twins having their parents' last name shared).
felix married his girlfriend orion guavarian making them both adams-arrielos. the two of them had three children (and are expecting one on the way): vera guavarian, yosef adams-arrielos, paris adams-arrielos and a little one on the way. not pictured is their dog, bruce.
after orion had yosef, she decided that her and felix needed their own place and moved out to build a new home for their family. (i cannot build for the life of me in general, but i really love how their house turned out). soon after their departure, the twins decided the wanted to go to college as well. saffron was the one to decide first but camila followed suit afterwards. so kimberly right now is currently a junior in university while the twins are barely freshmen.
at one point orion wanted to try to be promiscuous around town but it backfired when felix literally caught them sitting on a couch. he forgave her though and just thought he was being overprotective and jealous.
but now you know the adams-arrielos / the beginnings of the guavarians-adams-arrielos family dynamic !!! they are some fiesty sims but they're literally my comfort family rn. i also just started another save in riverview city but who knows who i'll bounce back and forth with.

My marketing brochure
The North Pennines Observatory @ACA is excited to offer bespoke astronomy residencies for students at GCSE and A Level.  It is part of Allenheads Contemporary Arts, a pioneering organisation which fuses art and science.  Directors Helen Ratcliffe and Alan Smith have over 25 years of experience hosting educational residencies for students studying at all levels, from GSCE to PhD.
Situated in an AONB designated dark skies area in the Pennines, the Observatory offers the perfect escape from the school environment and the chance for students to convert their astronomy knowledge into action.  The lack of light-pollution means that it is an excellent location for both telescopic and naked-eye stargazing, as per the GCSE curriculum.  The venue can accommodate 12 people in the west wing of the Old School House and has a beautiful, spacious classroom space, equipped with big-screen projection and surround sound for indoor lessons, workshops or presentations.
A residency would offer students an opportunity to both build on their GCSE or A Level curriculum and be inspired beyond it.
'We had an amazing stay the at the North Pennies Observatory. Alan and Helen were fantastic hosts. Our students had two cloud free nights practising observing with telescopes. They saw Andromeda, the Orion nebula and many other targets after learning how to navigate the night sky.  We were able to get a massive amount of astronomy theory done in the well-equipped classroom. We also visited Hadrian's Wall and a safely adapted local lead mine which our students loved. Several of the students told me on the way home they didn't want the trip to end'
William Hale, Head of Physics, Faringdon Community College Oxford
Bespoke residency design and delivery by ACA:
This would include:
-Introduction to ACA and the environs including Allenheads Heritage and History.
- Supervised use of observatory and all astronomical equipment (weather permitting) for stargazing and viewing of near planetary objects in our solar system, the milky way and distant galaxies. Equipment includes Edge HD Celestion telescope, ZWO ASI Deep Space camera, Canon DSLR and smart phone adapter for astrophotography, as well as 4 additional portable telescopes.
-Well equipped classroom space with big screen projection, and wi-fi throughout, for daytime teaching with your students.
-Structured residency programme including guided walks and visits to local areas of interest such as Hadrian’s wall.
-Technical support to facilitate screenings, audio visual presentations etc. throughout.
-Assistance in planning of transport and catering.
-Arrangement of additional elements such as expert guest speakers from Durham University or professional astronomy educators in the area who can talk on subjects such as meteors, galaxies, aurora and much more (at extra cost).

More Than Meets the Eye #36 — There Are So Many Double-Page Spreads in This Issue, Dear Lord
Four million years ago, before the war, a very special something happened.
Tumblr media
That’s right, it’s baby time once again.
Of course, Cybertronians can’t be normal about shit like this, so there’s a brawl going down over who gets custody of all these sparks. Star players include Orion Pax, Roller, Roller’s juice box, and all those college students from the Matrix heist. They’re facing off against the elite guard, who are getting their asses handed to them for what’s probably the eighth time this week.
Tumblr media
Christ alive, Windcharger, save the dismemberment for the war, will ya?
Roller jumps off a cliff and transforms, because he’s a cool dude like that, when he suddenly he complains of lumbago. Is he suddenly feeling his age? No, he’s just had eight grown-ass robots timewarp onto his trailer.
Tumblr media
Oh shit, Rung’s got his stick! Brainstorm’s about to fuckin’ die.
Back in what is the “present” for MTMTE, Rodimus gives his Time Travel Team (fellas who have compatible spark-types to run the timecase) the skinny on what the plan is: go back to the past, find Brainstorm, beat him up for trying to rewrite time, then be back in time for dinner. Perceptor adds that if Brainstorm isn’t stopped, their current timeline will cease to be, which is a bit of a problem, needless to say. Everyone is pretty high-strung about this situation, save for Tailgate, who’s decided it’s time to get an impromptu piggyback ride from Rewind.
The timecase has geotracking, which is damn convenient for the TTT, but Perceptor’s having a spot of trouble getting the thing calibrated, so things are sort of vague at the moment. Rodimus theorizes that Brainstorm will be targeting Orion Pax, as was established last issue, so they ought to figure out where he is whenever they end up in time. Luckily, Rewind was Orion’s biographer, and knows where they need to be for this first jump.
The gang has a few minutes to pick out some very dangerous toys from Brainstorm’s private collection, something which greatly delights Whirl. Ultra Magnus can’t help but wonder if bringing Whirl along is such a hot idea, but having the incredibly violent, actively suicidal guy tag along is actually part of the plan.
Tumblr media
Horrific.
Anyway.
There’s a few rules for this trip: don’t tell anyone you’re from the future, don’t mess with major events, and don’t kill anyone who isn’t Brainstorm. Chromedome’s coming on this excursion to act as white-out, should someone decide to get a little too chatty. They also have a sci-fi bullshit “time phone” to call the Lost Light with, so they can be updated and potentially call for extraction if needed.
Everyone got that? Sure hope so, because it’s time to get back to the start of the issue!
Rodimus basically immediately blows their cover, telling Orion that he’s an Autobot… which is a group that doesn’t technically exist yet. Chromedome and Whirl are also causing some issues just by being there, seeing as Chromedome is still a cop in this moment in time, and Whirl’s in fucking prison. Luckily, assumptions are made, and the TTT can masquerade as the reinforcements Zeta Prime was messaged about.
The gang is taken to the ramshackle base Orion and pals have scraped together, as they get the low-down on this Hot Spot situation— turns out that this is the first one to pop up in a million years, and the Senate’s been keeping it under wraps, in an attempt to keep Functionists from claiming the hand-shaped Hot Spot as proof of Primus being real. We get a taste of Skids’s religious phase, and then Cyclonus points out that there’s something floating menacingly in the sky above them. Nobody’s really sure what it is, but surely it can’t be good.
Anyway, here’s Trailcutter.
Tumblr media
Excuse me, Trailbreaker.
With Trailbreaker up from his nap, Orion tells everyone to takes turns using the recharge slab— they only have one, my goodness— and to get to know each other, while there’s enough free time to do so. Rodimus takes this to heart, getting just a touch too handsy with Trailbreaker, who at this point has zero clue who he fucking is. Rung, meanwhile, accidentally gets high on Roller’s special cocaine juice, while Roller has a moment of insecurity over the fact that he’s not an Outlier, and just a plain ol’ One-Percenter. As if that isn’t also rare as hell, by literal definition.
This is when the Time Phone rings, and Orion Pax picks up— that’s right, our glorious co-captain of the Lost Light and leader of this time mission left his secret mission phone where just anyone could pick it up. Anyway, Orion picks up, and who should be on the other end of the line but Megatron himself. Megatron, instead of telling Orion to put Rodimus on the phone, stays on to chat with his once and future nemesis, while Magnus and Perceptor work in the background, having to just listen to this conversation. Megatron worries that his experience on Messatine— the one with Trepan— might have fucked with his brain, perhaps changing him from who he had been prior. Still, he can’t really change what’s happened, only reflect and regret. Orion acts like a centrist, despite admitting that the system Cybertron lives under is a nightmare hellscape. Megatron tells him that he’ll end up joining Orion’s team eventually.
Over with Rodimus, it seems as if rules were meant to be broken, as he’s just told Trailbreaker to stay away from Ofsted XVII, the planet where he died horrifically while trying to be a decent person. Trailbreaker doesn’t really get it, but agrees to do as he’s told, even if it won’t be relevant to him for several million years. Orion finally brings the phone to Rodimus, then gives a recommendation to his book club.
Tumblr media
I’m sure this won’t have any negative repercussions in the future.
Megatron isn’t nearly as cordial with Rodimus, demanding to know what the hell’s going on. Obviously, Brainstorm hasn’t been found yet. There’s also this weird radiation drifting into the Lost Light from the past, which is weird.
Hey, wait a minute—
The science team back home does some scans, and we finally figure out what the deal is with that weird thing in the sky: it’s shooting radiation at the Hot Spot. To kill the sparks? Perhaps. However, Rewind has an alternative take— that this is all a big experiment, trying to create Outliers through scientific intervention, and that it’s not going to work, but instead just kill these sparks, and if one day the Functionists take power back and uncover all these positively heinous experiments the Senate is conducting, well, that’ll just give them way more credibility than they’d otherwise have. At least the Functionists aren’t doing baby-murder experiments, am I right?
If this sounds like he’s just a smidge too sure about this hypothesis, it’s because he’s actually pulling from his database, which is just chock-full of alternate history at this point.
Regardless of what exactly the purpose of the radiation is, it’s clear that it needs to be dealt with. Orion orders Trailbreaker to make the biggest force field he can to protect the sparks. Cyclonus says a prayer. Tailgate plants his ass on the ground full of sparks.
The thing in the sky doesn’t like any of this shit, and begins to fire on the group. Glitch is too far away to reach the thing and use his machine-breaker powers, so it’s time to call in the air force.
Tumblr media
While the fly boys handle the barrage to the best of their ability, Roller decides to be a hero, by way of taking the spark-teleporter out into the danger zone, so he can get those bad babies to a safer spot. Orion tries to do it for him, but Roller “needs this,” to prove he’s just as good as the rest of the team.
Hey, Rung? I think this guy might be needing your services, homeslice.
While all this is happening, Rodimus gets a call from home base, telling him that Brainstorm’s jumped again, and they’re about to get sent after him. Rodimus demands a few more minutes, seeing as shit has really hit the fan. He finds Chromedome in this shitshow to tell him to not wipe Trailbreaker’s memories, so that he might live.
Roller gets shot, and Orion decides that it’s his turn to be a hero now. He orders Trailbreaker to tighten the forcefield until it’s only surrounding Orion, then has Windcharger toss him through the sky platform. It explodes, and Tailgate develops a minor crush.
Tumblr media
Good thing Cyclonus isn’t in earshot.
And so the day is saved, the sparks are sent to Nyon— something which seems to shock Rodimus, as the man who blew up/will one day blow up that city— and Chromedome says his goodbyes, shaking hands with Orion and his crew, thus wiping their memories of the last couple of hours with his mnemo-hand upgrade.
Just as Perceptor whooshes them away, however, Trailbreaker comes up and shakes Chromedome’s hand, much to Rodimus’s horror and everyone else’s dismay. With that, his fate is sealed, and the Time Travel Team is taken to their next stop. Orion and his team forget about what’s happened, thus making it impossible to figure out where Roller disappeared to. And so it was, and so it shall be.
Tumblr media
Not the time, Trailbreaker! Not the time.

Legendarily Preposterous - 2
It has been close to a year since Don Armage had been defeated, and the newly (re-)elected President of the Space Federation, Ohtori Tsurugi, faced a different kind of battle from the ones he experienced both as a legendary warrior who fought Don Armage the first time, and as a Kyuranger.
Ao3 I FFN
Tumblr media
--------
"Do you think Tsurugi and Kotaro are going to be alright?" Hammie questioned worriedly.
Every member of the Kyurangers, sans Kotaro and Tsurugi, gathered at the Orion Battleship, orbiting above the Earth. They were worried for their technically eldest and youngest members of the team.
It had come as a surprise for the recently promoted supreme commander of Rebellion, Shou Ronpo, and the Orion's commander, Stinger, when Tsurugi delivered the news to them.
Tsurugi had also explained Kotaro's circumstances with the accusation made by well-meaning but narrow-minded Earthlings, which explained a lot of things about Kotaro, according to Stinger.
"They'll be fine," Lucky assured the team. "Kotaro knows us, he knew that we'd never let him do something he did not want to."
"According to Tsurugi, Kotaro cannot testify for himself," Raptor pointed out. "Tsurugi would be in there facing it alone."
"W-why?" Hammie questioned.
"I see, they fear that we might have brainwashed Kotaro into fighting with us." Stinger offered.
"Mama Mia!" Spada exclaimed. "If we did that, we'd be no better than Don Armage himself."
"Don't worry about Kotaro," Champ voiced his opinion. "He's a lot more level-headed than anyone would give him credit."
"That's true, garu," Garu agreed. "Even when we were captured by Akyanbaa, he did not panic but kept on calling out for Naga."
"I'm so sorry for that," Naga apologized once more.
"Don't worry about it, garu," Garu shook his head. "I'd like to think that you did what Stinger did to Kotaro and his brother back when he was still a spy."
"It's all in the past now, Naga." Balance assured his friend. "You were not in control of yourself, then."
"I agree with Champ, we need not worry for Kotaro or Tsurugi." Shou voiced out. "Tsurugi is a capable man, I'm sure he'll tell us how legendary this one would be."
"For the meantime, I'm cooking us a meal for when Kotaro and Tsurugi come here and bring us the good news."
As the Kyurangers baited their breaths, waiting for the outcome of this so-called trial was. As they waited, they played catch up with one another.
Lucky had installed Jiiya as his advisor, and officer in charge for whenever he's out of the Leo system, traveling, helping people acclimate themselves to a life without Don Armage or the Jark Matter.
Garu has made plans of joining Lucky in the near future, as soon as he had sorted everything in his home planet.
Shou was promoted to Supreme Commander of the Rebellion
Spada began preparations for his restaurant on Earth after visiting his family on his home planet.
Hammie had visited her loved ones before entering college for a full degree in education.
Champ began his quest of becoming the next robot wrestling champion.
Stinger was busy patrolling the different star systems with Kotaro as soon as he was promoted to commander of the Orion Battleship.
Raptor went from being Shou's assistant to Tsurugi's assistant to becoming Stinger's assistant. She dutifully informed Stinger of anything and everything with regards to the matters of the universe, especially distress signals or remnants of the Jark Matter army.
Balance and Naga were also with Stinger, Raptor, and Kotaro. As the others patrolled, the two of them began researching and retrieving the different treasures that were lost in the wake of Don Armage's rule
"Ne, Raptor, I can't stand it any longer! Can you let us view the broadcast of Tsurugi's case?" Hammie exclaimed impatiently. "I'm really worried."
"No need to worry," The supreme commander assured. "The people of Earth are accusing Tsurugi of child endangerment because Kotaro has fought alongside us, which put his life at risk." He added.
"Then why was Tsurugi the only subject to that accusation?" Lucky asked. "While I asked everyone to risk their lives to defeat Don Armage, I still allowed him to participate instead of asking him to give his kyutama to Stinger."
"It's probably because all of us aren't Earthlings." Stinger voiced his answer. "If the Earthlings assumed that that the majority of us are from Earth, we would probably face the same accusations."
"Stinger is right," Raptor nodded. "They excused our letting Kotaro joining us as 'ignorant to Earth laws and customs'," She added. "Despite there being an ancient saying that goes "ignorance of the law excuses no one."
"Talk about luck!" Lucky exclaimed.
"What's so lucky about this?" Hammie questioned.
"Things are easier for Tsurugi." Lucky grinned raising his fists into the air.
"What do you mean, garu?"
"We're a team; we provide each other with backup." Lucky grinned. "What we did was not child endangerment, but ensured Kotaro's safety."
"I don't follow, garu."
"What Lucky means is that, by letting Kotaro join instead of sending him home, we ensured his safety and wellbeing as opposed to letting him fight Jark Matter alone." Shou paraphrased Lucky's explanation.
"Oui, no dish is served with only one ingredient." Spada nodded. "It needs other ingredients for one ingredient to work."
"Raptor, tune in to the broadcast," Shou ordered the pink android. "The trial should be over by now."
Raptor nodded as she input a few commands on her tablet before a holographic screen appeared before everyone that reported the aftermath of said trial.
"Ohtori Tsurugi has been found not guilty of child endangerment after he pointed out that Sakuma Kotaro could have fought all on his own without the backup of his fellow Kyurangers." A female reporter stated.
"Talk about lucky!" Lucky exclaimed, pumping both of his fists in the air.
"That's a relief." Hammie sighed. "I hope nothing like this ever happens again." She whined.
"Oui." Spada agreed. "I think I'm going to cook Kotaro's favorite dishes not found on Earth to celebrate."
"That's a great idea!" Hammie agreed.
"Shush, it's not over yet." Shou silenced the group.
"President Ohtori was already in the middle of his defense when a child stood up in his defense," The reporter continued. "The boy claimed that people, some were even present in the trial today, had thrown stones at the Kyurangers, one of the stones almost hit Sakuma-kun, if not for his fellow Kyurangers."
"Jiro," A small smile adorned Stinger's face.
"Kotaro is really an intelligent child," Champ nodded. "Probably leagues above his peers on Earth."
"Of course," Shou nodded. "Rebellion HQ has been singing him praises because of how quick he can process things, even when he was accelerating through everything."
"What do you mean, garu?" Garu asked to clear away his confusion. "How do you know it was Jiro who said those?"
"Simple, Kotaro is just brilliant like that." Champ nodded.
"Long story, short, Kotaro had his brother relay his brother's version of the events," Stinger supplied.
"That would really help Tsurugi's case, especially since Jiro did not condemn or praise us, which they assumed Kotaro would do the latter in part of being supposedly brainwashed." The draconian supreme commander explained.
"It makes me wonder," Naga voiced out. "What was the use of our Kyuranger licenses if Tsurugi is just going to be accused of child endangerment?"
"Right!" Hammie exclaimed. "I actually forgot about our Kyuranger licenses!"
"That is true, even Kotaro's got one." Balance nodded.
"According to the child wellbeing committee, there was no question about the legality of our licenses." Raptor informed. "They only have an issue with Kotaro joining and getting a license to be a Kyuranger.
"I guess that makes sense," Champ nodded. "Earthlings have their own sense of justice."

losing their V cards to each other? school/college AU?
Alright, so, I've never written smut before. Below the cut isn't, like, super explicit stuff, but it's definitely the smuttiest I've ever written, and I apologize in advance for it.
This is in the same 'verse as Winter Formal and The Guillotine!
no escaping your love #25: free fall (a high school au) (Read 1-24 here.)
Kate would never admit it, but she had a countdown set for when Anthony left for Brown. She looked at it every day, watching the numbers dwindle, no more than binary coded sands in a digital hourglass.
They couldn’t spend quite as much time together over the summer as they’d dreamed during the school year, when just carving out an hour felt impossible and the hope of warmer weather and no school guided them to the end of the line.
But Anthony was interning with the family business, and Kate worked long hours at the Mayfair Academy Summer Camp program with lots of screaming lower schoolers. When he wasn’t at work, he was once again looking after his siblings. When she wasn’t at work, Edwina was demanding rides to the mall, the pool, the movie theater, the park—her sister had truly never been so popular, or busy.
Sunday afternoon became their date night, the precious few hours they could claim together before work and family obligations consumed them. Even just walking hand in hand with him through the grocery store while she did the family shopping felt romantic, a glimpse into a future that might await them further down the line.
Emphasis on the further, of course. There was still her college to consider, and maybe law school, and all the different roads they could find themselves down in the coming years. Together or apart.
In July, the Bridgertons adjourned to their house on the Cape for two weeks, and Mary let Kate join for a weekend. She’d always loved the coast, and it was easy to see just how much happier Anthony was in the salty air, slowly tanning under the bright sun. For once, he looked eighteen years old as he played beach volleyball with her and Daphne and Colin, constructed drip castles with Hyacinth and Gregory, splashed in the waves with Francesca and Eloise, and made out with her in the study after dark. It was hard to leave when Mary picked her up on Sunday afternoon.
When there were nine days left on her countdown—the weekend before he was due to go away—they drove back there, just the two of them. Mary had sat her down before she got in the car for a sex talk and to give her condoms and Kate had squirmed. Just because they were going to be alone in the house didn’t mean they were going to have sex.
Not that Kate hadn’t been thinking about it, though. Providence was less than two hours from Boston, but he would still be leaving. She couldn’t compete with college girls: older, smarter, prettier than her. Hell, Edwina, technically still in her ugly duckling puberty days, was prettier than Kate. Would it hurt more or less if she gave him this piece of her forever?
(Look, virginity is a construct and women should not be shamed for their sexuality. But that doesn’t mean that having sex for the first time wouldn’t be a big deal, wouldn’t make him a lifelong memory that she’ll either get to cherish forever or need to toss.)
They went to a nice dinner and played card games in the sitting room as the sun slowly set. Once the moon was out and the families were gone, they changed into their swimsuits and ran out to the ocean. Diving under waves, trying to body surf. Kate even taught him how to do an underwater handstand. Talking and laughing and being young and alive and in love.
She floated on her back, letting the waves bob under her as she stared at the constellations, Orion blinking down at her. And into the silence she finally asked, “Is this goodbye?”
Hands wrapped around her ankles and pulled, making her shriek. Suddenly her legs were wrapped around Anthony’s waist, his gaze intense in the moonlight as he stared at her.
“What on Earth gave you that idea?”
“You leave in nine days and we haven’t talked about it? We’re here alone and everyone thinks we’re going to have sex? Those feel like goodbye signals to me. For good goodbyes.” She swallowed and kept her gaze firmly on the rocks over his shoulder as she quickly added, “And it’s okay if it is, really. It’s been wonderful, truly, but—”
“Do you want this to be goodbye?” he asked sharply, and she flicked her gaze back to him.
“Of course not!”
“Neither do I! I love you! I want to spend the rest of my life with you!” He froze, eyes wide, for just a second, but just as quickly his expression relaxed, and he warmed up to his theme, “Do you know how terrifying that feeling is?”
“You think I don’t feel it too?”
Instead of responding, he kissed her, pulling her close against him. And all of Kate’s anxieties flew out the window, carried away on the Cape breeze.
Anthony pushed them up so that he stood and she continued to hold onto him, arms looped around his neck and fingers tangling into his hair as her legs tightened around his waist. She hopped down, though, and they practically ran back to the house, stumbling up the stairs to his bedroom, drunk on each other.
“You have to tell me, okay?” he whispered in between kisses, looming over her on the bed. “What you like, what you don’t, if it hurts? Okay?”
“Okay,” she whispered, breathless, arching her back as he kissed a trail down her stomach, stopping just above the band of her bathing suit bottoms. He took advantage of the movement to reach around for the string tying her bikini together.
“Can I?” She nodded, but he didn’t move. Of course he wanted verbal consent. Truly, she hated how much she’d misjudged this man in September, how much time they’d wasted. But they had now.
“Yes!” she groaned, and he didn’t need to be told twice. He undid the bow at the back and the neck quickly, and then pulled it off her with similar speed. Only then did she notice just how much his hands were shaking. Good. He was nervous, too. It made her feel less guilty about just how loudly her heart was beating out of her chest.
“Wow,” he said as her whole body was laid bare before him, illuminated by the moon and the lamp on his bedside table. He swallowed, and she could see him straining against his swim trunks. This part she’d done before, and she reached down to cup him, feeling him and taking confidence from the way his breath hitched. Without another word, she pushed the trunks down.
“Goodness,” she said—she’d never fully seen it before—and he laughed.
“I’ll take that as a compliment.”
He looped his fingers on either side of her own bottoms and slipped those down, too. Suddenly there they both were, naked in front of each other for the first time, and Kate swallowed.
Despite the heady rush that brought them there, they went slow from then on. There was some awkward fumbling and breathless laughter when Anthony almost went in the wrong way, but afterwards, Kate goes to sleep feeling like the sexiest, most beautiful woman to ever walk the planet.
(Even though it means having to listen to Edwina’s innuendos for a whole two weeks.)

GIVE RIO JOB 🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪 | Rio & Effie
TIMING: Present
LOCATION: Vulpine Voltage Repairs
PARTIES: @3starsquinn & @effieduan
SUMMARY: Rio’s ability to afford groceries is called into question.
CONTENT:  No Triggers!
Effie sat at the counter, tinkering with a giant black box. It was a monster, a dinosaur, and an absolute disgrace to modern computers. But Florence wanted it back in suitable working condition because it was “so simple”. Effie learned early on in this business that it was important to give the customer what they wanted -- even if she thought she could give them a better experience. Florence was elderly, and she could understand wanting things to stay the way they were. And truthfully, after Effie was done with this big old dinosaur, there wouldn’t be much to complain about other than its size and heavy weight -- that reminded her. She would have to schedule a drop off at Florence’s apartment. Watching the little old woman waddle in carrying that thing had almost given her a heart attack. She was working on replacing the cooling fan when she heard the door jingle as someone entered.
She would have preferred to be in the back sitting in her workshop, but that meant  she would have to constantly be getting up from her work to come out front whenever a customer came. Annoying. She poked her head up over the harddrive to get a look at her customer. “Just a second,” she said, swiftly hopping off the stool, placing her tools on the counter, and grabbing her lime-green gloves. She looked at the boy. College student, most likely. “Can I help you?” she asked. “Did something break?”
In a lot of ways, a shop like this should make Orion feel right at home. Ever since he was old enough, he practically lived on his computer if he wasn’t reading. Nowadays, he did a lot of his reading on the computer anyways, with the scribe archive coming along. It was slowly but surely growing, and Rio was starting to find it easier to find information through the database instead of skimming through the books like he always had to before. Of course, there were probably thousands of books still unaccounted for, but he had tried to prioritize to get some of the most common books translated first.
If his pastimes weren’t enough, then his old second major made a shop like this feel even more familiar. Computer science had always felt like more of a means to an end than an actual passion, but he had still picked up on a few things in the first two years before he had dropped it to focus on history and mythology. After all, the groundwork for the database had already been built thanks to Winston’s help. That was what Rio had wanted the degree for in the first place.
Now, Rio just needed work. Money wasn’t exactly tight. His parents had left behind a generous amount split between himself and Athena, and despite the size and grandeur of the home that he currently lived in, his living expenses were surprisingly cheap. Perks of only paying utilities he supposed. Still, a steady income wouldn’t hurt. And despite the change in majors, Rio still knew enough about technology that a place like this could be a potential job option. If they were hiring that was. “Hey there.” Rio gave a small wave when the woman behind the counter spoke to him and slid closer to the counter. His fingers began tapping against it rhythmically as he considered his words, “Nope. Nothing broken here. Not technology anyways” Rio rattled off, letting his words slowly fade as he realized this was not the best conversation starter, “I was actually just wondering if you knew if this place was hiring? I’m sort of looking for employment.”
Effie stared at Rio, mouth opening slightly in surprise. “... Employment…” Effie said slowly, as if she didn’t quite understand. Truth be told, she didn’t understand. She was quite clear that she was not looking for any other staff for her store, even if Eva told her she was being ridiculous because she would get so much more work done if she had someone watching the front counter while she sat and worked on orders in the back. And what did this boy mean by nothing broken - at least not technology. Was that a Gen Z thing? Was she so old that she was starting to call things gen z things? Was she going to rage war on middle parts and baggy jeans next? Effie had to shake herself out her head, reminding herself she was going to live long enough to see Gen Z 10.0, to stare at the boy. He was… Skinny. And polite enough. Effie’s snarky comment of why didn’t you check the website’s F.A.Q before coming in here died on her lips. “Uh -- “ Effie coughed. “I own this store,” she said. “My name is Effie Duan. And I’m not - I mean, I’m not really looking for employees.”
The woman, who turns out was the owner of the store, didn’t seem especially thrilled about the idea of Orion asking if she was hiring. Apparently, that wasn’t something she did a lot of. Or maybe at all. Rio had passed by the store on a few occasions, had only actually popped inside once or twice to check the place out, but he clearly remembered her face from each visit. Did she have any other employees, or was she running this place all by herself? “Oh! That’s awesome. Hi there. My name’s Rio. Technically it’s Orion, but nobody calls me that except my family.” Rio exclaimed, holding a hand out towards the woman as a means of introduction. He quickly backtracked to correct himself, “Er- well I guess my family used to call me that. Now nobody really does.” Well that was awkward. Definitely not the greatest first impression. “Oh, sorry. Didn’t mean to bother you or anything.” Rio bit at his lip. Well there went another option. Was he cursed to live on his family’s money in that oversized home forever? Could that even be counted as a curse? “Do you uh- run this place all by yourself? Because that’s crazy impressive. How do you have time to do everything?”
Effie’s gaze shot down to the hand he outstretched to her as if it was going to bite her. She did not like contact, especially with humans. Well, especially with anyone. Still, that’s why she wore the gloves. They were the solution and the reason she could be around people. Effie quickly recovered and reached out to shake his hand, hoping he didn’t mind the feeling of rubber. “Orion,” she said. “Rio.” Only his family called him Orion -- had called him… Something flashed in Effie’s memory about the doctor and business owner that were brutally murdered, leaving behind their children. She didn’t remember the girl’s name, but she did remember Orion because it had been one of  Eva’s favorite constellations growing up. Then again, Eva’s favorite constellation changed every week - maybe she just remembered Orion because she would get poked in the side with a stick shrieking and giggling. Now that was a reason Effie never wanted to have kids. Her demeanor softened though, realizing that this kid was on his own now. She felt that familiar, heavy feeling in her chest -- like whenever she looked at a frustrated old woman who just wanted her dinosaur hard drive fixed or a man that just wanted a stupid gaming system repaired because it meant a lot to his father. Effie cursed under her breath, straightening slightly. How hard must it have been to have your parents murdered and now had to provide for himself?
“You’re not a bother, Rio,” she said shortly. “It’s just - I mean, I do run this place by myself. It’s my store - my business, I mean. I’m open Monday through Friday, from 9-5 and then on Saturday’s from 9-12.” Officially, at least. More often than not, she was here, open late or early because it wasn’t like she did much. “So … Well…” Effie looked at Rio. God, could he afford groceries? He was so skinny! “What - What experience do you have?” she asked, lamely.
Orion tilted his head curiously as Effie repeated his name, followed by his nickname to him. “That’s me.” Rio responded quietly, trying to figure out what Effie was thinking about. Clearly something was processing. She was still looking up towards him, but she wasn’t meeting his gaze, instead staring past it. She must have been lost in her thoughts, the same way Rio did. “That sounds busy.” Rio agreed, listening to her hectic schedule. While RIo tried to keep himself busy too, none of his hobbies were exactly time sensitive besides his classes. She was bound to this schedule to run a business. Owning a business in general was way more stress than Rio thought he could handle. Being the sole employee was another thing entirely. She surprised him when she asked about his experience. Hadn’t she just said that they weren’t hiring? “Oh well uh-” Rio considered her question. Technically, he didn’t have much. Not officially. “Well I used to be a double major with computer science as one of those. I’m still a double major, just not computer science anymore. But I learned quite a bit in the first couple of years. I’m pretty decent when it comes to like coding and stuff.” Rio scratched at his neck nervously. It wasn’t like he could exactly show off the database he and Winston had built. Not without looking completely insane. “And I also worked as an assistant in my old job, taking calls and talking to people that came in. It uh- burnt down last year.”
Gears were churning in Effie’s mind as she stared at Rio. He certainly had a series of unfortunate events happen to him. Parents murdered and his job burnt down. Other than making sure some poor college kid could afford groceries, she would get her sisters off her back. It wasn’t only Eva that thought she worked too much. Not to mention if this kid could code, he was likely smart enough to learn how to fix phone screens and the like so she didn't have to waste time with those while she worked on her larger products. Not to mention, if she didn’t have to answer the phone or talk to people… Temptation was something Effie learned not to engage with a long time ago because it only led to disappointment and more self loathing than she could handle. What would she do about this kid’s safety? Make him wear gloves? “A couple of years in computer science is certainly better than nothing,” Effie said finally. “What do you study now?” That seemed like a decent question to ask. She could put him in a full rubber suit, though she wondered if that would be considered cruel and unusual punishment. It wasn’t like the feds would believe it was just her version of wrapping him in bubblewrap.
But how many incidents did she have in her shop? She was comfortable here in her shop and her apartment. Other than making the lights flash when frustrated, she never had done anything dangerous. The danger happened when she inevitably had to go outside. “Look, Rio,” Effie started. “I think -- Why don’t we try it out?” The words fell out of her mouth, surprising herself that she was going through with it. “Obviously, you’re a college student, and I don’t expect you to work all the hours my store is open. We can adjust to your schedule so you can have a healthy class life and social life as well as adequate free time to decompress.” Now she sounded like Eva, who frequently lectured her about what it was like to actually live. Not an option for her. She looked at Rio, before remembering something. “Oh, and I should… Probably check your references.”

Xavi grew up in a wealthy family as the middle of triplets. The burden of being the family heir fell on his eldest sibling’s shoulders. His youngest sibling, Caius, was constantly dotted on. As a result, he was largely ignored. He holds a little resentment towards both his siblings for this because he yearned for his parents’ attention.
In an attempt to impress them, Xavi built his own computer and taught himself programming. However, his parents were not impressed with this feat. Instead, they told him to be useful and do chores around the house.
As a result, Xavi never expected to receive anything from his parents. His siblings, Caius and Varian, would often try to spend time with him unless their parents called for them to do something. It wasn’t how he wanted things to be, but he couldn’t really complain either. However, it didn’t mean that he never wanted his parents to pay attention to him, even if it was only for a short while.

Xavi’s Unique Magic is known as Three Heads Are Better Than One. It is unique in the fact that it is actually shared with his siblings. It allows them to turn into Cerberus. It only works if all three are on board with using it. If one of them falters for even a second, it will not work.
Chant: "Alone I am weak, but together we are strong. Three Heads Are Better Than One!"
Trivia:
Xavi taught himself how to code and program.
He also taught himself how to make a computer.
Unlike his siblings, he is not cautious of Ester. He has even befriended the odd fae.
Xavi loves video games and anime.
He likes to talk to Ester about them because he knows the fae will not interrupt him when he speaks.
Being around Ester makes him feel like he matters.
While Xavi knows his siblings are trying to make him feel included in the family, he still clashes with them every so often.

Celebrating Women’s Equality Day Across NASA
Tumblr media
August 26 is celebrated in the United States as Women’s Equality Day. On this day in 1920, the Nineteenth Amendment was signed into law and American women were granted the constitutional right to vote. The suffragists who fought hard for a woman’s right to vote opened up doors for trailblazers who have helped shape our story of spaceflight, research and discovery. On Women’s Equality Day, we celebrate women at NASA who have broken barriers, challenged stereotypes and paved the way for future generations. This list is by no means exhaustive.
Rocket Girls and the Advent of the Space Age
Tumblr media
In the earliest days of space exploration, most calculations for early space missions were done by “human computers,” and most of these computers were women. These women's calculations helped the U.S. launch its first satellite, Explorer 1. This image from 1953, five years before the launch of Explorer 1, shows some of those women on the campus of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL).
These women were trailblazers at a time when most technical fields were dominated by white men. Janez Lawson (seen in this photo), was the first African American hired into a technical position at JPL. Having graduated from UCLA with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, she later went on to have a successful career as a chemical engineer.
Katherine Johnson: A Champion for Women’s Equality
Tumblr media
Mathematician Katherine Johnson, whose life story was told in the book and film "Hidden Figures," is 101 years old today! Coincidentally, Johnson’s birthday falls on August 26: which is appropriate, considering all the ways that she has stood for women’s equality at NASA and the country as a whole.
Johnson began her career in 1953 at the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA), the agency that preceded NASA, one of a number of African-American women hired to work as "human computers.” Johnson became known for her training in geometry, her leadership and her inquisitive nature; she was the only woman at the time to be pulled from the computing pool to work with engineers on other programs.
Johnson was responsible for calculating the trajectory of the 1961 flight of Alan Shepard, the first American in space, as well as verifying the calculations made by electronic computers of John Glenn’s 1962 launch to orbit and the 1969 Apollo 11 trajectory to the moon. She was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian honor, by President Barack Obama on Nov. 24, 2015.
JoAnn Morgan: Rocket Fuel in Her Blood
Tumblr media
JoAnn Morgan was an engineer at Kennedy Space Center at a time when the launch room was crowded with men. In spite of working for all of the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo programs, and being promoted to a senior engineer, Morgan was still not permitted in the firing room at liftoff — until Apollo 11, when her supervisor advocated for her because of her superior communication skills. Because of this, Morgan was the instrumentation controller — and the only woman — in the launch room for the Apollo 11 liftoff.
Morgan’s career at NASA spanned over 45 years, and she continued to break ceiling after ceiling for women involved with the space program. She excelled in many other roles, including deputy of Expendable Launch Vehicles, director of Payload Projects Management and director of Safety and Mission Assurance. She was one of the last two people who verified the space shuttle was ready to launch and the first woman at KSC to serve in an executive position, associate director of the center.
Oceola (Ocie) Hall: An Advocate for NASA Women
Tumblr media
Oceola Hall worked in NASA’s Office of Diversity and Equal Opportunity for over 25 years. She was NASA’s first agency-wide Federal Women’s program manager, from 1974 – 1978. Hall advanced opportunities for NASA women in science, engineering and administrative occupations. She was instrumental in initiating education programs for women, including the Simmons College Strategic Leadership for Women Program.
Hall’s outstanding leadership abilities and vast knowledge of equal employment laws culminated in her tenure as deputy associate administrator for Equal Opportunity Programs, a position she held for five years. Hall was one among the first African-American women to be appointed to the senior executive service of NASA. This photo was taken at Marshall during a Federal Women’s Week Luncheon on November 11, 1977 where Hall served as guest speaker.
Hall was known for saying, “You have to earn your wings every day.”
Sally Ride: Setting the Stage for Women in Space
Tumblr media
The Astronaut Class of 1978, otherwise known as the “Thirty-Five New Guys,” was NASA’s first new group of astronauts since 1969. This class was notable for many reasons, including having the first African-American and first Asian-American astronauts and the first women.
Among the first women astronauts selected was Sally Ride. On June 18, 1983, Ride became the first American woman in space, when she launched with her four crewmates aboard the Space Shuttle Challenger on mission STS-7. On that day, Ride made history and paved the way for future explorers.
When those first six women joined the astronaut corps in 1978, they made up nearly 10 percent of the active astronaut corps. In the 40 years since that selection, NASA selected its first astronaut candidate class with equal numbers of women and men, and women now comprise 34 percent of the active astronauts at NASA.
Charlie Blackwell-Thompson: First Female Launch Director
Tumblr media
As a part of our Artemis missions to return humans to the Moon and prepare for journeys to Mars, the Space Launch System, or SLS, rocket will carry the Orion spacecraft on an important flight test. Veteran spaceflight engineer Charlie Blackwell-Thompson will helm the launch team at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Her selection as launch director means she will be the first woman to oversee a NASA liftoff and launch team.
"A couple of firsts here all make me smile," Blackwell-Thompson said. "First launch director for the world's most powerful rocket — that's humbling. And I am honored to be the first female launch director at Kennedy Space Center. So many amazing women that have contributed to human space flight, and they blazed the trail for all of us.”
The Future of Women at NASA
Tumblr media
In this image, NASA astronauts Anne McClain and Christina Koch pose for a portrait inside the Kibo laboratory module on the International Space Station. Both Expedition 59 flight engineers are members of NASA's 2013 class of astronauts.
As we move forward as a space agency, embarking on future missions to the Moon, Mars and beyond, we reflect on the women who blazed the trail and broke glass ceilings. Without their perseverance and determination, we would not be where we are today.
