Cayden immediately launched into the role of the victim, talking about how they were just walking and I tripped on a rock, fell and dropped my notebooks. And when two of them were trying to help me up he picked up my notebooks for me, then I went insane and punched him! The principal asked if this was true, and immediately the rest of the gang backed him up. Then she turned to me and asked me for my side of the story. Logan was standing out of her sight range and pulled his finger across his neck to let me know if I snitched I was dead. Now here's the thing: I don't get scared easily, not even a little bit, that’s another reason I'm an idiot. I told her that they took my notebooks and I just punched in self defense. Of course they said I was lying, and since it’s thirteen to one they obviously won. Next thing I know Rufus was on the phone and being told I was suspended for three days for fighting. The principal left the room for a minute so she could get yelled at and asked questions by Rufus in private. I was mad, but also a bit happy, or maybe proud. I mean sure I got suspended, but I also stood up for myself, and I get to miss school for three days, sure there will be rumors and attention will be drawn to me but it won’t be that bad right? Okay so here's the thing I usually underestimate how bad things can get. That’s another one of the reasons I keep referring to myself as an idiot. The principal comes back out of her office and the gang starts playing the victims again. That’s when she dropped the thunder, she told the gang that they were suspended for three days as well. I thought this was amazing, I was only half right.

We went to go get our stuff and left the building. Rufus called me and he seemed mad, no mad isn’t the right word he was furious. He said since he was at work I couldn’t come home yet so I just had to go to the park. I decided to walk instead of taking the bus. When I got to the park I sat on the swing underneath the blue cloth pavilion. Since school wasn’t even halfway over no one was at the park yet. But apparently the gang's parents had the same idea as Rufus. I saw Cayden, Logan, Grant, Trey, and the others walking towards the playground area. I decided to move off the swing and over to one of the benches. I heard someone yell “Hey Rex!”

Sore menjelang malam. Senja di ufuk barat mulai berganti warna menjadi jingga. Selain kendaraan yang silih berganti menyapa, hiruk pikuk jalanan mulai dipadati oleh warung tempel pinggiran dan lampion yang mengitarinya.

Aku dan abang memang masih sekantor, meskipun sudah beda departemen. Kita selalu berangkat dan pulang bersama, begitu juga dengan sore ini, kita pulang menggunakan sepeda motor kesayangan. Namun, sedari tadi kita hanya saling diam disepanjang jalan. Kita sama-sama tahu sedang tidak berada di suasana hati yang "oke".

Sesampainya di rumah.

"Bisa gak sih bang taro barang-barang ke tempatnya lagi?! Gak bantuin beresin gapapa deh, tinggal balikin doang apa susahnya sih! Aku tuh cape."

"Ya sama aku juga lagi cape. Pulang ke rumah bukannya disambut hangat malah di cemberutin terus di omelin. Kalo perkara kerjaan kantor jadi bikin kamu dikit-dikit bete, udahlah resign aja. Aku masih mampu kok nafkahin. Daripada hal sepele gini jadi diributin terus gegara bad mood sama kerjaan. Bukan sekali loh ini ngeributin hal-hal receh. Kenapa lagi coba sok sini cerita."

"Maaf ya, maafin aku yang masih aja begini, jangan suruh aku resign dong nanti aku kesepian."

"Makanyaaaaa... huh... iya iya aku maafin, jadi kenapa hari ini?"

"Blablablablaa...."

Begitulah aku yang sedikit rada "cablak". Segala sesuatu yang tidak kusukai bisa langsung keluar dari mulutku. Meski seringkali langsung menyesal telah mengeluarkan kata-kata itu. Atau sesekali dengan tiba-tiba terdiam tanpa alasan dalam waktu yang cukup lama. "Moodian" kalau kata orang. Aku sendiri tak mengerti kenapa begitu, apa ini yang namanya perubahan mental pasca menikah karena sudah terlalu lama sendiri?

Begitulah juga keadaan abangku yang terkadang ikut tersulut api emosi, tapi ia tetap berusaha berfikir logis demi menjaga keutuhan hubungan kami. Tarik nafas dalam lalu hembuskan, "ayok cerita, lagi kenapa?" atau "kamu lagi suntuk ya? keluar yok" atau "ih ada yang lagi bete niiiiihhhhh, susan susan susan... besok gede mau jadi apa?" (Playlist lagunya keluar). Begitu senjata andalannya. Bagaimana bisa aku marah lama-lama?
