“Movement” – a series of photographs by Ethiopian photographer Girma Bert 🇪🇹
In this series, the self-taught photographer sought to capture the soul and energy of African capitals. Using the shutter speed effect, Girma created dynamic portraits of people on bicycles on the streets of Morocco, Uganda, Mali and other African countries.
“My style of photography aims to capture the unique energy and personality of the people living in Africa. I'm particularly drawn to the vibrant atmosphere of big cities, where people from all walks of life come together,” says Burt.

It distresses that those who either follow me or just like my few gay posts seem to be completely indifferent to both the Palestinian genocide and the shit show that the US government has become. Though I came here with the initial desire to possibly connect with relatives in Greece who don't know me, I found that I had to respond to my personal truth as well as the dramas being enacted in the world today. Though I too can escape from things that I have no control over by means of art, literature, music, and eroticism, I feel that it's my duty as a human being to speak out against injustice and violence towards people and the planet itself.
I appeal to you all in this regard.

Sometimes wild attraction shit happens when you learn to separate masc/fem from man/woman. I’ve known queer women find the femininity in a man attractive. I’ve known gay men get so hot and bothered by the masculinity of a woman.
There was once a guy who was not really my type but then he did drag and was suddenly wildly attractive to me. And since I’m bisexual it doesn’t give me a crisis when someone is suddenly hot to me in an unconventional way. I used to think this was particularly a bi experience.
Then I’ve met plenty of gay men and lesbians who are also chill about that sort of thing. Sometimes life is like that “oops made out with a twink in Brighton who turned out to be a lesbian who thought I was a lesbian” and sometimes it’s like “hey, I’m not normally into men but this guy has got something hot going on.”

Pictures from haya.orouq on TikTok
My wonderful friend Haya is only 18 years old and trying to get her sick mother (a kidney failure patient) and the rest of her family evacuated from Gaza to Egypt. They barely survived an airstrike that blasted all the windows out of the house they were in when Israel attacked Deir Al-Balah last week and were displaced again 02/24/2024 and the situation is extremely desperate. Please if you can spare even the smallest amount to help them, it would mean the world to us!! ❤️🇵🇸❤️🇵🇸❤️🇵🇸

have realized that while i am not a fan necessarily of "people meet and immediately fall in love" i am a fan of "people meet and are immediately obsessed with each other." the love can come later but the absolute fixation should be immediate

I wanted to highlight examples of actions I've seen people organize to protest the genocide happening in Palestine.
[ID: A tweet by Demilitarize Western Mass @demilitarizewma that reads “BREAKING. We're blockading all vehicle entrances to the L3Harris facility in Northampton, MA. L3Harris is one of the largest weapons contractors in the world, and they profit from war, the prison industry, and the violent occupation of Palestine..” End ID]
[ID: A tweet by Rebecca Pierce @aptly_engineerd that reads “Happening now: Jewish emergency protest blockading the San Francisco Federal building in solidarity with Gaza and calling for a ceasefire and end to US complicity in the occupation of Palestinians.” End ID]
[ID: A tweet by Jewish Voice for Peace @jvplive that reads “JEWS SAY: STOP THE GENOCIDE OF PALESTINIANS! Over two-thousand Jews protested in front of the offices and homes of elected officials in NYC, San Francisco, Chicago, Seattle, Indiana, Florida, and Los Angeles to demand action to prevent the genocide of Palestinians..” End ID]
Last thing I wanted to highlight was this message from Palestinian-American Author Nadia Shammas. You can read the full thread on twitter.
[ID: A tweet by Nadia Shammas @Nadia_Shammas_ that reads “I want to hear non-Palestinians to hold the same faith in their heart as we do that Palestine will be liberated. I dream of a world where, when it’s too painful to keep faith, I can rest knowing they’ll believe it just as hard for me, that they’ll carry it for me just as firm"]

I'm trying to start a movement here
[ID: The first 3 images are edited versions of the "Let's take ibuprofen together" meme. The captions now say "Let's read shoujo together". They each show a person holding their hand out to the viewer; a character from the series Benigyokuzui, Mob from Mob Psycho 100, and Jerma. / end ID]
