The idea of Gen V musical episode plagues me. But I really want it to be weird and surreal. Like there's no way to survive but to sing and dance. And everybody is bewildered, doing the routines the can't possibly know.
There is a possibility that everybody would have an original song, maybe even there going to be a TV-themed villain and everything would be broadcasted. Could you imagine?
But I do have some thoughts, mostly about Jordan. I don't know why, but Jordan and few Orville Peck songs I listen to just fused together in my mind.
Imagine a room that sort of resembles a barn with a small stage. Figure in a cowboy hat, with a guitar, is the only part of the room that's only somewhat illuminated. And the moment Marie steps closer through the faceless crowd, the stage illuminates fully, showing Jordan in the male form stuck in the broody-guitarist-cowboy pose.
But the moment Marie is close enough, Jordan can move. They switch and play the first few notes of Roses Are Falling.
The song is rather slow, but the crowd sways softly, starting to dance with their hats and Jordan, while singing, glances to the hat that lays to the side so Marie can join in.
And while the dance progreses, Jordan can move more. They stand up and go to Marie, who sways, maybe even sings along. When the song ends, those two hug, checking that they are both real. And since this is The Boys Universe we are talking about, the crowd probably should turn hostile.
Also, if we are making Derek dance, I really think it should be like almost a ballet number. With Marie or not, but very emotional.
I don't really know what song I would give to Marie herself, but I think many of Florence and The Machine songs would suit her well. Which Witch? Ship To Wreck? You've Got the Love?
I do have a song for Andre too. It's Power by Isak Danielson. I mean, Chance has a nice deep voice. We can't tell if his accent will show, but I think it could be great otherwise.
It's obviosly a song about Cate. Maybe in this number she even recruits him, compels him to go with her, where he tries to pull away and succeds or...doesn't. I think it could be both Andre giving in and saying goodbye to Cate and to Luke too, everything that was easy and seemingly safe about their friendship\love.
This number doesn't need much. Dark room\corridor, soft dance without touching. If Andre doesn't accept Cate's Godolkin rule, he leaves her in the darkness, now looking all bloody and feral, like in the finale.
I also have a song for Sam, which is Dirty Imbecile by The Happy Fits. It's a very easy choice at least because of the line:
'Cause I'm crazy in just too many ways
This basically could be about him being bored and dissapointed with his newfound fame and life. Maybe some of his emotions would come back through singing, we don't really now what else can break through Cate's influence. In case somene might think that I'm insulting Sam, the song, even though upbeat, it's from the persperctive of a scarred person who feels out of place, basically.
Anyway, I don't want to be cured from this hyper-fixation.

Dropout Does The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals
So my theory about overlap of Dropout and Team Starkid seems to be accurate, and people seemed to like my Dropout does Nerdy Prudes Must Die post, so I'm back for another. Same method and criteria as my previous post, you can go see that if you want to know what they are. Also, I have previously done a similar list with Internet Personalities that included a handful of Dropout people, but I'm gonna try to make this one different.
Also spoilers for potentially anything in the Hatchetfield verse
Paul: Ross Bryant
Ross is a great straight man (in the comedy sense, I don't know his sexuality) while being very funny in his own right, and I think, while Paul has a lot of his own funny moments, it's very important that his character is also the more normal guy reacting to the madness around him. Also, he would slay the Jekyll and Hyde homage that is Let it Out.
Emma : Siobhan Thompson
I think one of the essential parts of Emma's character is an underlying exhaustion with the world, and that is very Adaine Abernant and Ruby Rocks, so I think Siobhan would embody that very well.
Charlotte: Vic Michaelis
I don't think I've ever heard them do a transatlantic accent before, but I just have this gut feeling they'd be so good at it.
Ted: Ify Nwadiwe
While I do genuinely think Ify would be great in the part, if I'm being fully honest, this casting is because I (despite my better judgment) find Ted Spankoffski hot, so casting arguably the hottest man in Dropout in this part makes me seem less damaged for being attracted to the self-proclaimed sleazeball. Also him and Vic seem like they would be great playing off each other.
Bill: Brian "Murph" Murphy
He just has "refuses to drink during the apocalypse so he can be the DD" energy.
Mr Davidson: Brian David Gilbert
Since I'm splitting up all the parts, this basically turns Mr Davidson into a Princess Track where the actor just shows up, sings about desire and being choked while he jerks off, but laments how he can never achieve his dreams, and then pretty much leaves, and I don't know why, but that seems right up BDG's alley.
Melissa: Lisa Gilroy
Lisa Gilroy seems nice, but also kinda scares me, and those are the correct vibes for Melissa (#heymelissacore)
Sam: Jacob Wysoki
My only concern about this casting is that he'd go SO HARD in You Tied Up My Heart that he would keep breaking the handcuffs and/or chair, but that's fine, it would be worth it.
Nora: Katie Marovitch
The "Decaf?" parts of Cup of Roasted Coffee already sounds a bit like her TBH.
Zoey: Rehka Shankar
I feel like Zoey is such an underrated, funny side character in the show (I know she's a very small part, but like every line she has is a banger) and I feel like Rehka is a very underrated performer, so this is a good match.
Greenpeace Girl: Persephone Valentine
Making up the Save the Sea Turtles campaign is such a Sam Nightengale move, and also she would eat up Lah Dee Dah Dah Day.
Alice: Surena Marie
She's got a bit of a baby face (I thought she was like 25) and I think she would handle the change from Alice to Hivemind Alice really well.
Deb: Emily Axford
I'm definitely not just casting this because I want Emily to be my protective and caring girlfriend...
Professor Hidgens: Josh Ruben
I don't have an explanation for this one, this is vibes alone.
General MacNamara: Brennan Lee Mulligan
"Wear a Watch" and a song highlighting how the hivemind is essentially fascist and using the military to destroy any resistance to their regime is so Brennan core.
Homeless Man: Ally Beardlsey
I just feel like this is the part they'd want.
Dan Reynolds: Lou Wilson
Icons play Icons.
Donna: Aabria Iyengar
Icons play Icons
Hard Cuts:
Jacob Wysoki as Ted
Mike Trapp as Paul
Emily Axford as Emma
Jess Ross as Charlotte
Lily Du as Zoey
Grant O'Brien as Professor Hidgens
Grant O'Brien as Ted
Ally Beardlsey as Ted

Do you think Matt and Emma had a reason to not understand the chocking scene after reading the scripts? I never understood why the were so shocked tbh. Thanks in advance if you answer this.
i can understand being confused reading it in the script. there's something that they cut out entirely from the whole show that was really weird but would have made the scene make at least a bit more sense. but i would say there are more around that choking scene that paint it in a bit of a different light, not much though.
i have always explained that scene as "daemon does not know how to mourn in a healthy or safe at all." i could write a whole thesis on it, but i'll simply point to how he reacted with the goldcloaks when baelon/aemma died, how he was distant from his daughters when laena died, and how he reacts when viserys and visenya die on the same day.
no one wants to hear that apparently, but people do not process loss in healthy ways, especially not someone who has exhibited himself to be violent on multiple occasions. yes, it's never to rhaenyra, but he is a violent man by nature. i would point to the fear that aegon is flying to kill them, assassins might be sneaking in to slit their throats, as genuine fears that he doesn't believe rhaenyra is taking seriously.
you can see this in the cut scene with jace and rhaenyra while daemon is raging and training soldiers. that scene shows that rhaenyra is also not thinking straight either, because jace also sees the risk that is at their doorstep. to them, war has already started. to rhaenyra, she's still tryng to prevent it. in her eyes, her father, who ruled during a peaceful period in westeros, just died and she is immediately being plunged into a period of war as a queen that she knows most people don't want.
people really want to see that choke as evidence of some abusive relationship, nothing we see on scene proves that. in fact, multiple scenes disprove that completely. but people really love to hate daemon and that scene gave them a lot of ammo, so i don't normally get into these rants. i normally just shit post and people can think what they want.
edit: lol immediately getting someone kicking down the door to say i’m wrong. and did i ever think about rhaenyra????
sorry but one of the first scene we get of daemon is him killing and maiming the people of the city without much thought. a violent person will be violent. saying “being violent is one step closer to murder” is silly when the character has killed multiple people including his own wife.
this is a fictional character, i think people think that i am treating daemon like he’s real. he’s not. his actions don’t need to be diagnosable. based on the text, he does not have a history of abuse. but he is violent.
i’m treating him like a character and analyzing him based on what we see, you are treating him like a person and analyzing him based on real world anecdotal knowledge.
and for that reason anon is now shut off, if you want to say something say it on your account so i can block you properly!

Unpopular SMG opinions
Screw it, here are my unpopular SMG opinions :)
I hate that I have to say this but please do not attack me for any of these, they are just my personal opinions & thoughts
Warning: opinions different from most people's (also they're not in any particular order, I just kinda threw them together lol)
Man of Medan is my favorite DPA game and I will NOT change my mind, it deserves way more love and appreciation and respect. It genuinely has the best variability and replayability (maybe even more so than UD & maybe even TQ tbh)
House of Ashes is my least favorite SMG game and I struggle to understand why a game so problematic is so loved
I liked Little Hope's twist ending lol. I know it's controversial, but to me, it gave the game so much more emotional weight and I personally love things that make me sad lol, so I liked it. I also think it provides so many themes & motifs, some great symbolism, and really good messages
I'm a big Emily/Matt shipper. I know they have problems but I love both of them and they have so many cute moments in the bonus chapter especially and I just want them to go to couple's therapy to work on said issues bc I love them
I'm also a big Conrad/Fliss shipper. This ship isn't necessarily hated by popular opinion, but it is very overlooked. Once again, I just love them both and I think they could actually work post-game and I simply adore their dynamic
Matt is my favorite male character, Conrad is my second favorite male, and Jacob is my third favorite male. All 3 guys are criminally underrated (and overhated in Conrad's & Jacob's cases) and I love them all
Emily is my favorite female character, Fliss is my second favorite female, and Emma is my third favorite female. Emily & Emma are so unfairly hated- they deserve so much love & appreciation. Fliss, while pretty well-liked, is still much too underrated and also deserves more love & appreciation
I love Emily, Jessica, Ashley, Emma, Jacob, Ryan, Julia, Conrad, Taylor, Angela, Andrew, Rachel, Kate, & Mark. They all deserve love & appreciation and none of the hate that they've received (also I'm not sure if Jamie or Erin have gotten hate, but if they have, they're included too)
Josh & Jason are problematic jerks. I don't understand why they're so well-loved. They're both sexist and act so disrespectfully towards women, and Jason is also racist
I think Emma & Jacob could actually work tbh, they're both just in different places at the time of the game. But maybe a couple years in the future, I could see them both giving it a try and honestly I think they would actually be quite cute (BUT I will always ship Emma with Abi above all, sorry Jacob ily)
As much as I love canon gay/bi rep and I do think the flirting between Ryan & Dylan is cute... I don't think they're very compatible, sorry y'all :( Maybe I'll make a separate post about this sometime
Alex has his issues, yes, but he's really not that bad
I used to not like Nick F, but upon replaying TQ, he's also not that bad- I think he was just screwed over by the werewolf transformation tbh
There are definitely a couple more, but I'll leave it there for now😅

okay but seriously can you maybe go into what inspired you to write tiny boy big complaints, handsy hyperfixation (a classic), and the newest snf one?? and also maaaaybe the older one about teleporting if you wanna do that one too???
thank youuuuuu :))
- cal <333
from this milestone post / tiny boy big complaints / handsy hyperfixation / losing the battle winning the war / the troubles with teleporting
some of my favs in here <3
tiny boy big complaints my beloved ): and cals fav <3333 this fic is so special to me even though it's one of the lower note ones! it was actually a prompt sent in by cal (found here), so it's kind of hilarious to me it turned out to be his favorite one ):
I wanted george to be soft and tiny and I wanted dream to be soft but playful with him, and somehow I created one of my favorite things ever by doing so. I think this is another fic that I didn't really brainrot the concept with anyone, I am actually 99.9% positive I blacked out and wrote this entire thing and then made cal read it for me before I posted it and cal helped me pick the title tooooooo
cal is just the best is the bottom line actually :D this one was written for him and me and us and that's really all I can say about this one <3
- - - - - -
handsy hyperfixation was started december 26th, the morning after the dream team did their christmas stream, because I went completely insane over pictures of dreams hands (enjoy the blurry pictures <3)
Tumblr media
then I sent these messages to cal (yes he is nick nelson) followed after I blacked out and wrote 4K words in one sitting:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
then I let the fic sit until the end of february, and I finished it in the beginning of march. I will be honest, this one was absolutely 100000% a self indulgent fic, purely for myself and I didnt really care if I posted it or not. cal actually told me to name it "mushie's self indulgent hand fic", which....absolutely not....but it's correct. whatever. sue me, Im obsessed with dreams hands ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
this is my favorite thing I've ever written, it's my baby, it's 7.2K words for me and me alone lmfao. I actually was terrified to post it bc I didn't think anyone would read it, and now it's over 100 notes. I actually could cry thinking about how proud I am of it (even though I messed up some things in it, I don't care, I poured so much into this fic)
so yeah. that's handsy 🥺
- - - - - -
losing the battle winning the war was written 100% because of @wishitweresummer. this little idiot asked to commission me (which I said no to bc she's an idiot) bc she wanted to read about back of the neck raspberries....I wonder why? she also wanted it to be the first time george got back of the neck raspberries! cute, right? again....I wonder why :D
cal named it and its the perfect title tbh
summer requested for it to be playful and I know summer loves rough, so I made sure to really play up the snf fighting dynamic and I actually love what I created ):
she ALSO requested for george to struggle and be cocky, and for him to come out on top and completely destroy sap. she said she wanted it to be in a place that wasn't super common, a new spot for george to discover, and I adore the spot above the hip bc it's such a surprisingly sensitive spot! so that's how that was born
I truly just wrote this up to make sure I flustered the shit out of summer. I included things that people know get her and things that only I (and maybe one or two others) know about purely just to have summer yell at me for it :D
I love how this one turned out, targeted fics always turn out better to me for some reason <3
- - - - - -
the troubles with teleporting was the first time I ever wrote XD 🥺 this was a prompt that emma sent in, I can't find the actual prompt bc it was when my tumblr was a different name and the link is broken BUT
I remember just getting this idea to make the teleporting itself tk george at first instead of XD doing it right away, just bc I had the idea that it would kind of feel like when you go down a drop on a rollercoaster???? but a little more intense?
I also remember being super excited bc emma actually had the idea of the teleporting itself tkling instead of XD, but neither of us mentioned it to each other until after I wrote it that way! great minds think alike :D
again, it was my first time writing XD, and for those of you who don't know, XD is one of my all time favorite lers to read and write. I wanted to make sure I did XD justice, and I really love this silly lil fic, and how XD winds up just tkling the heck out of george at the end anyways (they even lifted george's arms up above his head while XD's bottom set got his ribs oh my goodness that was cruel huh 🫠)
the teases in this were pretty good too (':

Boozle's Top Ten Movies 2023
So, this was another list in my 2023 review that was super difficult to put together. According to my Letterboxd 2023 list, I watched 178 new movies this year. (Looking at all the dramas and movies I've watched, I honestly do not know where I found the time to consume so much content?! Working from home has its plus side, I guess?)
So, it's been a bit difficult to narrow my list of favourites down, but this is what I ended up with...
Tumblr media
(i) Barabarian (2022, Dir. Zch Cregger) This film was NOTHING like what I thought it was going to be. Split into three tales that merge together to tell the story of one house and it's history, this movie managed to surprise me and be unpredictable at each turn.
Tumblr media
(ii) The Outlaws (2017, Dir. Kang Yun-sung) This is the first movie in The Roundup series (the fourth movie is due out in 2024) and I have to say this is my favourite Korean action franchise. Ma Dong Seok is perfect, and the action sequences are mind blowing. It has the perfect balance of crime, action and comedy, and is a definite recommendation if you're looking for a good Asian crime movie.
Tumblr media
(iii) Evil Dead Rise (2023, Dir. Lee Cronin) I absolutely love the Evil Dead franchise, and I had initially been a little wary at this sequel due to the fact they were taking the deadite insanity into an apartment block instead of the usual little cottage in the woods. I am so glad I was wrong, because this movie was probably the best horror to come out of 2023. The cast were amazing (Morgan Davies was a stand out) and it managed to feel like an Evil Dead film but with a fresh perspective.
Tumblr media
(iv) Dark Harvest (2023, Dir. David Slade) Okay, I couldn't find a gif from the movie so y'all will have to make do with this still image. Now, I fully expected Dark Harvest to be a lame b-movie with terrible effects and a lame storyline, but I thoroughly enjoyed it! It managed to keep me captivated, and it was extremely aesthetically pleasing. I'd love a sequel with Emily returning to town.
Tumblr media
(v) Five Nights at Freddy's (2023, Dir. Emma Tammi) Gosh, I was so happy when I enjoyed this! I am a huge FNAF fan (though for a while I kept it on the downlow due to Cawthon's support of Trump/the Republican party) and I adore the lore, as wild and complicated as it is. The movie really managed to keep me captivated, and kept me guessing, whilst still staying true to the original canon. I cannot wait for the second installment.
Tumblr media
(vi) Guns Akimbo (2019, Dir. Jason Lei Howden) This was a wild and fantastic film. I love watching Daniel Radcliffe get further and further away from the HP movies and prove that he's a great actor. Also, I just love Samara Weaving.
Tumblr media
(vii) The Meg 2: The Trench (2023, Ben Wheatley) Yeah, I'm surprised to see this on my list, too. This movie was just so much fun. That's all. The effects were great, the acting was pretty good, and I just like watching sharks take out humans. IF YOU DON'T WANT EATEN BY A SEA CREATURE, STAY OUT OF THE SEA.
Tumblr media
(viii) Ichi the Killer (2001, Dir. Takashi Miike) I don't know why it took me over 20 years to finally watch this classic, but I ended up thoroughly enjoying it! The acting was insane, the story was batshit crazy, and the effects were fantastic. I'd expect nothing less from Takashi Miike, tbh.
Tumblr media
(ix) Salo, or 120 Days of Sodom (1975, Dir. Pier Paolo Pasolini) Okay, hear me out - was this one of my favourite movies of the year? No, it really wasn't. However, it's the movie that has probably left the biggest scar on my mental psyche of the year, therefore I had to include it. I've been fascinated by Marquis De Sade ever since I saw Quills years ago, but I never watched this movie because I knew it would do something to my brain. If you've seen the movie (or even read the book), I'm sure you understand what I mean when I saw one chapter in particular REALLY fucked me up to the point I couldn't eat chocolate for quite some time afterwards, and I struggle to not throw up when cleaning my cat's litter box these days. It takes a lot for a movie to scar me in a way that makes it pop into my mind every now and then, and this movie did that. However, I'd like to add that the point of the film isn't just to shock, but I am terrible at witing coherent analysis. If you haven't seen this movie, I would suggest doing a little research before watching, just to make sure you can handle it; it is full of triggers that I don't even want to mention because I'll probably get blacklisted. But yes. Whilst it may not be a favourite of the year, it sure left a huge impact on me.
Tumblr media
(x) Everything Everywhere All At Once (2022, Dir. Daniel Scheinert, Daniel Kwan) I think everyone loves this movie, but I was surprised at how much I loved it! The whole message of the movie is just so brutal and honest, and whilst I know that it's probably people of Asian heritage that can relate to it the most, I feel like we all can find something in the relationships that we can relate to. The cast were fantastic and I'm so glad to see Ke Huy Quan on screen again! Heartwarming, sad, and absolutely hilarious.
Honorary Mentions: (i) Midnight (2021, Dir. Kwon Oh-seung) (ii) Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum (2018, Dir. Jung Bum-shik) (iii) Glass Onion (2022, Dir. Rian Johnson) (iv) The Night House (2020, Dir. David Bruckner) (v) I Saw the Devil (2010, Dir. Kim Jee-woon)

do you have any spare hcs abt karl or joyce 😭 im starved
YES I DO ACTUALLY!!! I think about those two sm like you don't even understand. I really need to talk about them more, tbh.
I have A Lot to say, so sorry in advance for my nonsensical ramblings.
Actual answer under the cut
OKAY SO!! Starting with our favorite pathetic bean sprout.
I'll separate the au hc's and actual main universe hcs just to keep everything semi understandable. It'll have HC's for relationships with Karl, Planck, Einslas, etc. Also including Elysia and Joffrey because siblings can't be separated <3
AU headcanons:
Joyce is smarter than he gives himself credit for. I'm being serious when I say this. It doesn't express itself as obviously as the Einslas, but that's only because his strengths are in other areas. While the Einslas are extremely smart when it comes to STEM, I feel as if Joyce's strong suit is more in creativity. It's hard to exaplain, but think writing / reading and all that. He enjoys learning new information about things he likes (examples include astrology, writing, etc.) and he will often be able to remember details that others normally wouldn't.
He probably spent a lot of his childhood reading stories, and was probably ahead of his grades reading level. He didn't really have many friends because he has social issues, despite the fact a lot of people did actually like him. He just knew a lot of people, but he wasn't really able to form any close friendships until his insane scientist bestie came along. Though that was partially because he just was awkward and didn't know how to talk to others. Was worried he'd come off as weird or get bullied for his interests.
Tesla probably comes to him sometimes to ask for help with her own writing, actually. Although he doesn't write much himself, he's somehow one of the best people to ask for advice LMAO. They probably bonded over their shared passions, even if they are technically different. (Different in the sense of she's into writing, and he's into reading. They go together hand in hand. Idk I just feel like it's a cute little thing. Besties and siblings <33) He also probably proof reads her stuff occasionally when Einsteins too busy to, though he might've had a few objects thrown at him at some points. He also gives her advice / ideas.
Has a fear of people leaving him bc his parents just kinda. Disappeared leaving him with Karl and Emma as his care takers, and Elyisa eventually left soon after because she got married to Eden and all that. Then when Einstein left with Planck it just kinda destroyed him. He's not upset with them, he's actually really happy for them. Though it gets lonely and he's afraid that he'll get replaced (haha Joachim haha. Sorry.)
Probably really close with Joffrey tbh. Does anything in his power to make sure his little brother has a good childhood. He reads to him A Lot, and actively engages in his ideas. For example: if he has an idea to make something Joyce will help him make it. He also encourages him to pursue his own interests even if it's a one off thing. He'll often draw / write with him too. He's very proud of him
Karl is basically his dad at this point. He doesn't treat him as his nephew, but instead he treats him as if he was his own son in a sense. He's extremely proud of him and that someday he'll make a positive impact on the world. Joyce looks up to him heavily, and wants to follow in his foot steps once he gets older.
When Ein originally came he was terrified of her LMAO. She was an absolute menace as a child and lived up to Karl calling her a brat. He was relentlessly teased and messed with by this tiny goblin who could turn on the water works at any second if she felt like it. She still actually is the reason he's called Welt. Though it's because he's the clumsiest mf in the world, so dual meaning there.
She's actually one of his first actual friends, and partially responsible for his love of space. How they became friends is blurry just because it's more of a "she won't be leaving I need to learn to survive" but despite being eccentric, he eventually came to see her as his bestie / sister. Though he's still absolutely terrified of her. He still has zero clue what goes on in her head and that's terrifying to him.
He's absolutely terrified of Tesla too. Both his besties scare him half to death and he's convinced one of these days they're going to be the reason he gets killed, but that won't happen surely. They're at each others throats constantly, and would probably be those two people threatening to kill the other in a waffle house at two in the morning. They want to throw each other through a wall, but also trust each other with their lives. The only man Tesla remotely tolerates along with Karl. They have sibling energy and you can pry it out of my cold dead hands.
Him and Elysia also probably used to be really close. She cares about him deeply, and would drop anything at a moments notice to help him if he needed it. Though she also does tease him often, as a big sister should. Eden acts as a parental figure towards him as well. They both met when he was young, and he grew up with her around a lot so he just started looking up to her tbh.
He originally goes to Lab 42 to become Einslas assistant while he went to university there, and would help them with stuff similar to how he helped out in canon. Though Tesla basically said "Fuck you, we're your superiors now so you'll refer to us as Dr. Tesla and Dr. Einstein now!" and that's how he started calling Einstein Ein lmao. Tes wasn't amused.
They also drag his ass to Alaska. He never wanted to go on work related trips with them after that.
He's terrified of Planck. That's all. He's terrified. Her constant midlife crisis scares him.
Okay so for non AU headcannons:
Tes and Ein 100% got together in private and planned how to torment him. Just Trust Me on this. They were feeling a little bit silly and goofy and just coordinated together on how to torment him next.
Him and Tes' relationship is a little bit different in the main universe, for obvious reasons. Though they stay besties and have sibling energy. Neither of them trusted each other at first. Tes didn't trust Joyce because 1. He's a man 2. He's a man 3. He's a man and 4. She was scared he'd hurt Ein (was also just jealous and scared she'd pay less attention to her but yanno), and Joyce didn't trust Tesla because she's an angry redhead who would probably kill a man if given the chance. Didn't help that she threatened his life and threatened to castrate him within the first minute of meeting him, but yanno it be like that sometimes.
Over time Tes begrudgingly accepted that he wasn't going anywhere for awhile and that she should probably get used to it. While Eins was out they probably were forced to bond, and eventually Tesla realized that maybe he wasn't as bad as she originally thought and slowly began to trust him. Honestly they were best friends by the time he just decided to die like a pathetic person on them. He'd stay up to make sure she got home okay and alive, and he eventually just became her rambling buddy. AKA Einstein was asleep and she just went on long nonsensical ramblings to Joyce while he just went "uh huh.. interesting.. they did what now?"
Probably admitted some embarrassing things to him in all honesty. Though he'd never be able to tell anyone that considering she herself didn't even remember telling him half the stuff she did, and even if she did she'd actually kill him if he said anything about it. Not like he really wanted to, anyways. Was just happy she was willing to talk to him and didn't completely hate him tbh. Was also happy that he could be there for her considering his whole depression thing and knowing how horrible it was to not have someone there for you.
Though she also always cared and worried about him. Her and Ein had read his 'profile' beforehand, and Tesla immediately was scared and concerned when she realized he quite literally was diagnosed with severe depression. Though she'd never admit that and would prefer to pretend she just found him annoying and pathetic LMAO. At least before his death, after his death is a different story. (AKA she finally admitted years later she cared about him to Einstein and still missed having his dumbass around and constantly had to be held back from nuking Otto off the face of the earth.)
Another note I forgot to add that I'm adding after the fact: He was actually amazed by Tesla's knowledge. Like he knew she was smart, but the extent of it surprised him tbh. Especially after hearing how she didn't even have her degree.
With Ein it's pretty much the same, though she's legitimately just an absolute menace to everyone around her. She intentionally dialed it to ten just to make sure that he was terrified of her and never knew what she was going to do next. She did it just for the funsies tbh. Things were going slow in the lab and as much fun as it is to tease Tesla, it was funny to be able to just bully some random man who had no clue what was happening at any given second. Plus added bonus points for being able to still tease Tesla but making it 100% worse because someone else is around and Tes just gets embarrassed and loses it.
VN is basically two lesbians harass and bully some poor traumatized man for an entire month.
That aside, I feel like him and Joachim got along really well. I like to believe that he took him out sometimes to watch him while Einslas were working, and that Joachim constantly asked the Finn to go see the three. While the Einslas taught him to gaslight gatekeep and girlboss, Joyce taught him actual life lessons and tried to negate the 'damage' the Einslas had done. AKA try to make him stop being even worse than them.
He cared A Lot about Joachim, and probably saw him as his little brother honestly. I feel like they spent a lot of time together, even if it often resulted in Joyce being bullied constantly by three people instead of just two. The explosions also didn't amuse him because he's lame and a coward.
He's terrified of Planck. That's all. He's Terrified.
After his death he intentionally hid from Tesla Einstein and Joachim. He didn't want them to find him, and try to bring him back. He felt like he'd disappointed them all and he felt guilty over what happened, and he was scared they hated him and despised him over what happened. He only shows up for Bronya because he knew that she'd be his successor, and even at that he refused to talk because he didn't want to disappoint her too. Didn't want her getting too attached to him, mainly because he's too scared to hurt yet another person.
Had to end it off depressingly, sorry </3 I'm sure you understand.
Was going to do non AU and AU versions for Karl too but like... He wasn't alive near long enough to even have hcs for the main universe. I've just hit him with the dad beam honestly.
Anyways AU Karl hcs <33
He's a dad. Literally just a dad. Will adopt any insane scientist within a 1000 mile radius.
He met Ein similarly to how he does in canon, and managed to convince her parents to let him and Planck allow her to continue her studies at a college level. Ever since then he's basically become her dad, and that's how she views him. Has accidentally called him dad before.
For a majority of the time he was one of Eins main mentors, though as time went on and he became more busy, Planck began to become her teacher.
He's awkward, and is kinda oblivious. Very Oblivious. He tends to not over think peoples words, and doesn't even think that there's a second meaning in most circumstances.
For the most part he's extremely dedicated to his work, and has issues with accidentally over working himself. All he wants to do is help others, even if it causes himself issues. He's often extremely busy and running about.
Though he also is extremely dedicated to his family and cares about them more than anything. If ANY of them needed anything, including Tesla, he'd drop whatever he was doing to make sure that his family is okay. He loves them all.
I'll have to add more later, but a lot of my thoughts have simply disappeared. I'll dm you on discord when I put more for Karl LMAO.

I enjoy your ee takes because you tend to be more rational and understand the nature of soaps. So I'm wondering what your take is on why they are doing the pr story at all? I thought it was just about pushing Ben to break (for the 100th time) but this is clearly going to far outlast Ben's ed story. Jay and Ben are now cemented as being Lexis parents forever. Whereas if they had a story about Callum becoming more involved in parenting Lexi it would have felt more like the show was cementing ballum as a family. They clearly know they have removed Callum from parenting lexi because they included a scene last week of him admitting he hasn't been around much and needs to help more. So this is all calculated by the writers but I just don't get why??
i can only speculate here because i obviously don’t know what the plan for this story is long-term. it’s a mystery to me what the end goal is here tbh. but just like with most stories in soaps they’re used to set up multiple things. obviously the biggest reason for this stories’ existence is to exacerbate ben’s ed and push him closer and closer to breaking point. this was the perfect way to fuel ben’s feelings of isolation (within his closest family no less), inadequacy and guilt, leading to the ed becoming really bad. they needed a good reason for ben to feel like he can’t even seek refuge with callum and lexi, the two people he most often seeks out for comfort, and this story did just that.
my speculation is that it also sets up future conflict for jay. it’ll be the catalyst of him feeling guilty and probably earning a lot of flack from lexi and the rest of the family when he inevitably moves on with someone else. it could function as a temporary roadblock in a romance sl and could be great setup for an exploration about widowed people moving on and how outsiders react to that. it could also function as potential conflict between ben and jay for example if ben ever feels like jay is overstepping or it (heaven forbids) comes to a ‘custody’ dispute. it might also set up something with emma’s return later that we don’t know about yet. or with callum and him getting pr/wanting to adopt lexi at some point. etc etc. there’s a thousand things this pr plot could set up or lead to and your guess is as good as mine as to why exactly it’s been done.
also side note but i think people made that ‘callum not being involved as much’ into something it wasn’t even meant to be tbh. i really believe it was only meant to demonstrate that ben is alone at home a lot and has been able to binge and purge and not eat undetected so far. and stress him out because that changes now. it was meant to serve the ed plot, not the pr stuff. it was said to get ben back to work to in turn exacerbate the ed even further and stress ben out even further. nothing more.

random question but. if the ouat characters [whichever ones you feel like talking about] were in the atla universe, what kind of bender would they be If they were a bender? nonbenders? do any of them have avatar vibes?
ooooo okay okay let's see,,
(putting most of this under a readmore bc i don't want to clog anyone's dash skdhsk)
Regina would be a firebender, of course. i feel like this is pretty self explanatory skdjgh i think her arc then would include learning how to use firebending for more than just destruction (like i read a fic once where zuko had to use his bending to cauterize a wound so like,, learning that she can use the bending she's always been told is destructive in ways that help people in comparison to the show where she ends up using her dark magic in ways that help the heroes)
Emma has Avatar vibes tbh i mean like,, she's the Savior. but also i think Avatar!Henry would be really interesting since he ends up becoming the Author,, it's plausible,, either way i think Emma has to be a bender of some sort and she would probably be a waterbender. I think Snow could also be a waterbender bc she has very Katara energy where she wants to heal and help people but she's also absolutely not afraid to throw hands. at least, back in the first seasons before a&e forgot everything they'd every written about their characters--
David & Robin would be nonbenders. i know this in my soul. If Henry isn't the Avatar, he's a nonbender. there's no in between for him
Zelena and Rumple would probably also both be firebenders. Cora would probably a firebender too.
originally, i was going to say Belle would also be a nonbender but i'm changing my mind. i think she would be an airbender. also i think she would fight wan shi tong to be in charge of the library and she would win ❤️
okay hear me out,, earthbender Neal,,, Rumple and Milah are both caught so far off guard by that bc Rumple is a firebender (and maybe Milah is a waterbender? 👀) but one or both of them have earth kingdom ancestry and so Neal ended up being an earthbender...... maybe pan was also an earthbender?
i don't know what to say about hook. waterbender seems obvious bc pirate but also he has more of a firebender personality as a villain (back when his character was. you know. better written.) "hero" hook is just too bland to assign any sort of bending. not that nonbenders are all bland but like..... there's nothing about him that screams connection to one of the elements. also i think nonbender could make sense for him being a pirate,, so i'm not sure about him
okay this is getting long and there are still more characters so now i'm just listing everyone else out with their element and no explanation. Mulan is a nonbender, Aurora is an airbender, Ruby is a nonbender, Tinker Bell is an airbender, Ingrid and Elsa are waterbenders ofc, Dorothy is an earthbender, Maleficent and Lily are firebenders, and August is an earthbender
ouatiw bonus: alice and will are a nonbenders, cyrus is an airbender, ana is a waterbender (though will is the only one who knows that for a while)

I just started writing two books today, bringing much current total of stories I'm hauling around to over eighteen. Yes, I know I'm insane, but here is the list of stuff you may be seeing from me in the nearest future. Yes, I am adding links for what can be preordered and the one being published on vella.
Emmazel: Emma is Trapped as Rapunzel - This is the most active project, as it's scheduled for release at the end of August, and I'm actually swapping back and forth between notebook and computer on this one, depending on my mood.
Snowfield Palace: The Snow Queen invades Mansfield Park - This is less active when it comes to writing, but it is scheduled for a December release, so I am working on it.
Thornrose Estate: Northanger Abbey discovers Beauty and the Beast - Again, not terribly active, but I have written a page.
A Little Persuaded: The Little Mermaid needs some Persuasion - Not really active yet, I'm working on the outline. I need to start the outline over, tbh, 'cause I decided to change my opening.
Snow Quest Like Home: A Snow Queen Misadventure - I've been writer's blocked on this one for a while, but I've been hauling it around. Decided last month that I'm going to handle it the same way as My Kingdom For a Quest (aka, let it be shorter and then include a book 7.5 that is a linked story) and it's been flowing again. I now have six pages written instead of just 4! (Also it's Snow Queen / Beauty and the Beast / Aladdin and Mulan is there with a pretty big role in both halves. Can't wait for y'all to meet her)
A-Parent Loss: This is a novellette prequel to Bookania about the time Robin adopted an orphan. A chapter is written and I need to write more.
Fairer Than Beauty: A Twist of Beauty and the Beast - I finally hashed out what I want to do with this story and have written the fist chapter and started the second. Rather like where it's going, and Amara's a fun voice to write.
The Cost of a Queen - I've written two chapters and then realized I need an outline. This is a vague Rapunzel retelling and a sequel to The Worth of a King set right on the brink of Amber's total corruption by the scale.
The Song of a Dragon - There is a rough draft of this that is nearly completed, but it's very old and very messy. I may need to start over the rewrite, though. Currently working on putting together an outline for this one too. Anywho, this the other Worth of a King sequel and the one where we find out what happened to the dragons at the end of the story.
No Refuge For a Princess - I'm actually not sure why I'm hauling this one, but it's a really interesting story that I really want to tell, but it's not quite come together yet. But it's lost royalty trope with a princess who doesn't know she's a princess, and the world is against her. It is, however, the notebook I'm most likely to cull.
Revolution - Prologue and the first chapter are written of this. Basically, it's a "What if George Washington was a female elf, but instead of becoming president at the end of the war, he was stabbed in the back and stuck in a tree to heal him, and then wakes up 150 years later to find that the world has fallen to pieces in the wake of freedom."
The Last Dragon Fairy - Not the story of a dragon-fairy crossbreed, she's a fairy with dragon magic. And since dragons have been killed off, there's no chance for more fairies to take dragon magic now that the other dragon fairies were wiped out by overzealous vampire hunters. So, Sequin securely thinks she's the last of her kind - until someone brings a basket of dragon eggs into her pawn shop. Just over half a chapter written on this one, and I'm about to kill a character.
The Clockwork of Christmas Eve (maybe, possibly) - A Nutcraker/Cinderella mashup, and I'm not in love with the title, but there's a first chapter written. Was hoping to publish it last December, but ... that didn't happen.
Superheroes Don't Prowl at Night - My MG Superhero retelling of Beauty and the Beast. I've written a chapter and a half, my baby sister adores what I've written and is constantly pestering me to write more.
The Ever After Maneuver - This is a notebook of outlines for my new fairy tale series of 36 books. So far, I have fully plotted Pumpkin War (Cinderella), Captive Dance (12DP), Enchanted Sword (original fairy tale vaguely inspired by the White Cat), Fae Prison (Fairer Than a Fairy), Giant Curse (Jack and the Beanstalk), Goose Boy (Goose Girl), Sleepless Guardian (Sleeping Beauty), Wax Child (Snow White), and Wolf Huntress (Little Red Riding Hood), and several more are almost finished.
Another notebook of outlines for some more of my retellings. Though, it's more like summaries instead of outlines on these. But it has plotting notes for at least four different series in it.
The Seven Dreams: A Tale of Sleeping Beauty (new today) - The sequel to The Seven Drawers that everyone wants (because I did leave a lot of loose threads). This is Rosa's story, and she's playing more of a "The Good Fairy Godmother trying to save the cursed baby" role.
Elven Pride (new today) - Yes, I know I *did* just finish writing my other Pride and Prejudice retelling, but P&P sells well and I really like the concept for this world, so I'mma gonna write it.
I am, for some weird reason, still hauling around the notebooks for Rose Petals & Snowflakes and Crown & Cinder ... though technically I have a AA story started in each of them. I need to finish the stories and post them to the AA. (The AA being a blog of bonus short stories I have available to my newsletter subscribers.)
Also active(ish), but I need to hunt down the notebooks I have Sidestep and The Nine Gems of Virtue in. I'm not hauling these two notebooks around, but I'm technically working on them. There is also technically a notebook for The Isle of Talking Beasts and RPS somewhere.
Not in notebooks, I'm word doc-only for them, I have ROCKS, The Stepmother's Third Chance, and Roses Aren't Swords.
But since I also read 55 books a time, do y'all really expect anything less of me? Yes, it it is chaos in my brain.

List of shounen anime with well written female characters!
Cause sometimes it's annoying to watch girls constantly being sidelined or just so not written as an actual person
First 3 are the best written:
-Jujutsu Kaisen (I'd say this has the best written female characters you could find, they're amazing and well rounded and actually have different opinions and struggles and don't only revolve around men 10/10)
-The Promised Neverlands (I've only seen the first season but may read more, do not watch season 2, and Emma is amazing and also the main character which is fucking awesome)
-Chainsaw Man ( to put it simply: women are written as integral characters, written as people with their own wants and desires and fears, are entirely as important as male characters, closest to 1:1 ratio gender rep I've ever seen, uniforms are not gender based, girls can look and have cool moments. Honestly I would put this as first but I know a lot of people are uncomfortable with Denji and his obsession with sex or the Fandom. I don't want to go on to long about this or spoil things so I'll just say it's important to read between the lines and pay attention to small details, things are not face value in this.)
-Full Metal Achemist Brotherhood (tbh I've only seen FMA but I hear FMAB is a lot better and also has a lot more characters so hell yeah more cool girls. Negative is they don't really take center stage but they're still amazing)
-Attack On Titan (Mikasa is pretty average but all the other girls are top tier. I'm not counting Hange as they are gender nonspecific in the manga but Hange also rocks)
-One Piece (this may come as a surprise considering how their bodies are later drawn and same face syndrome but Nami and Robin are amazing, I loved Perona and Iiii haven't gotten passed the clown laboratory place but hopefully the women that show up later are just as awesome)
- Gintama (this is a weird anime and you probably need to have watched a bit of shounen already to get at least a bit of their references but anyways a significant amount of the woman and girls are amazing and just as weird and gross as the dudes in an unsexy lighting. Also they're cool)
Hunter x Hunter (Once again girls are not in a main focus but they're pretty great when they show up! Plus they have a transgirl who's amazing!)
Soul Eater (This one is a split, I don't have any problem with any of the girl characters but some just aren't their enough for me to consider them well written. but the ones thst are are fantastic. I believe Maka and Soul mainly share the main character role so another female lead kinda)
-Dr. Stone (the author seems to like women in general and includes them a lot but they definetly feel less important to the story and don't often push the story forward on their own. Have yet to see a women have an interest in science, which the series revolves around, but maybe there is later? Also only skimpy girl outfits and the girls have a faker looking eye style making them seem kinda less human? I doubt that was the intention but it's a little jarring)
-Demon Slayer (Most of the girls seem pretty great but I'm not counting the main girl Nezuko. She's really got no personality other then loving her brother and humans and kill demon.) UPDATE: girl characters are underutilized and often stuck with feminine rolls which the anime doesn't challenge. I like a lot of them in theory more then in practice and wouldn't recommend this to someone for fem representation but I wouldn't diswayed them from watching it either
-Claymore (I don't know if the anime is any good but the manga is great and also has a main girl character! And I love a lot of them but I also haven't read this in probably 7 years)
-Bleach (this is low for a reason, some of the girls are very well written, some almost were but them bombed and some just arent)
-D. Gray Man (I think I remember them being surprisingly good. I'd put this higher on the list but I don't fully trust my memory)
-Jojos Bizare Adventures (I have never watched this, I really don't know but I've heard about them being great and based of their designs alone I'd agree)
‐--------
It is super okay not to want to watch/read any of the above for whatever reason, these are just suggestions
‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐
On another note hear are ones to avoid if you specifically want to see well written female characters
Naruto/Boruto (they're so badly written... and always pushed to the back... and mainly are healers... and fuck Boruto for what it makes most of them become. Fun series but ugh)
Death Note (I love Misa and that one FBI agent but the fact I don't remember her name is pretty telling. This one's more on here because it feels like the writer actively hates women. I mean it works since Light is a piece of shit and him being a misogynist really works but it can be annoying to watch sometimes. I love this show and hate it <3)
-Fairy Tail (constantly sexualizing every girl character and they're pretty bland writing wise. If you don't mind that then watch it if it sounds appealing)

Hi :) okay, weird question but if there’s different editions of a book at the library/bookstore, how do you choose which one to get? Like, you know how some are annotated or have different translators? I just sometimes get very overwhelmed
it isn’t weird at all, don’t worry -- tbh it really depends on the book for me: if it's something that was originally published in english then i usually just go for the one whose cover i like best (if i can afford it lol, otherwise i just go for the cheapest -- unless it’s pulp! the classics editions bc i absolutely refuse to buy those). translation is a bit different bc a lot of the time i will have looked around or into different renderings of a particular book but generally speaking, if it's a work that's been around for a while, then i usually go for a) the newest translation (or the black penguin paperbacks if it's a classic and none of my other criteria apply) and / or b) then one with a translator/translators who either come from the relevant culture or have a profound understanding of it and the language (this is usually more important for books outside the west i think -- also, an added bonus if the translator includes a glossary or has written their own note in the book about the process of translation and how they went about it).
as for annotations i usually don't seek them for fiction unless it's a book that i know i will need or want them for -- for example, i don't necessarily need an annotated copy of middlemarch, emma, king lear or madame bovary (i could do extra reading online if i wanted to clarify things or get background), but i would probably prefer an annotated copy of crime and punishment or the tale of genji. it depends on how familiar you are with the author / genre / simply the subject of the book itself. i can only speak for native english books but if you’re reading in english then i don’t think editions matter that much because, unless it’s a previously censored or abridged work, the content itself really won’t change and so its just down to personal preference which copy you get x

TPN 130 Thoughts
Nothing much to comment on, tbh.
1. The cover though, it'll definitely sparks joy and interest from TPN theorists. And it'll brings me joy too if you guys try to analyze it, I'll binge read it straight away.
2. Idk why I thought Emma is going to leave quietly without telling anyone. Emma is being Emma, of course she'll break it in front of everyone, no matter what the response she'll get. She's just THAT open and honest with her family.
3. It's understandable not many children can relate with without Emma's feelings, mainly because they don't witness the demon village themselves. People from GF have only seen wild demons, while GP people only see demon's cruelty on pretty much daily basis. Maybe Don, Gilda, Violet, and Zack are the only one who can understand her because they've been traveling together, but it'll still hard to gain their compassion towards demons. Even Ray can't really understand her despite his wish to follow her everywhere. And everyone loves Emma so much, it's hard to let her go.
Actually, I recently re-read TPN, and I realized Emma must've think about this waay back when she first met with Musica and Son-Ju.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
4. I'm kind of surprised that Emma really intending to go with Ray alone. I thought she'd include more people. At least Don, Gilda, Violet, and Zack maybe?
But in the end, the one who will always follow Emma wherever she goes is Ray, huh.
But Don, my maaan
Tumblr media
I know it's very hard for you, but thank you for understanding, aww
Don shines brightly than anyone in this chapter, people.
5.
Tumblr media
I know this picture will make EmmaxGilda shippers go nuts.
6.
Tumblr media
YES EMMA. Go tell'em.
7.
Tumblr media
Thank you Ray, for agreeing with my meta from last chapter.
8. I'm just glad everyone respect Emma's wish in the end. Even Ray and Emma gives everyone an option to decide their own paths that they won't regret, in case if they don't return. But MC from shonen manga is always protected with plot armor so i'm not worrying too much here. I'm still predicting that they'll be back late though, which will make everyone go crazy.
9. Ray and Emma, looking like a husband and wife who's proud with their children in here.
Tumblr media
10. I'm waiting for TPN theorists out there to figure out the mechanism of entering the Seven Walls from the last page.
And I already say this from my other post, but I'll say it again:
Tumblr media
Goddamnit norman don't just stand there go run after them you don't know when you'll gonna see each other again at least see the mechanism yourself in case you want to chase after them later c'mon norman just run
... did I ended up commenting too much?

noah fence but the people who say they want clary to die for "plot advancement" and so they can't use her rune powers don't seem to have anything to say about magnus (which he won't i know) dying for plot advancement and so they can't use HIS powers, which have saved and healed all their asses on multiple occasions. Magnus has literally saved almost all, if not all, of the mains and some sides on more than one occasion. He's done much more with his magic than clary has.
(2/) to name a few people that magnus has saved (not including tid): alec in cob, luke, maia, and alec in coa – and were the reason the shadowhunters were able to get on the boat by stripping the wards, multiple shadowhunters in alicante by fighting, clary in cohf, luke in cols (sorta), ty livvy kit (?) when they went to the shadow market and stepped in, and helped out on FAR more occasions, if ANYONES death would truly be a plot turner and advancer it would be HIS because he’s done SO MUCH
I definitely don’t believe Magnus would die but wouldn’t that be hella ballsy if he did? Because he is such a fan fave. But also if he dies in like QoaD, he’ll be in TLH and TEC and that would hurt like a bitch to see Magnus alive and well knowing he’s just gonna die. But also just how fucked would the shadowhunters be without Magnus? lmao, they would definitely all just die.
People just don’t want Magnus to die or they believe he can’t die (but Raphael, Camille, Ragnor and Malcolm have all been killed off) but they don’t care if a 22 year old girl gets killed off to further the main storyline. It’s bullshit really. Tbh, all these people care about are Julian, Emma and J#mma and I’m honestly sick of it. Clary did not survive everything she’s been through and save the shadow world TWICE in FOUR MONTHS to be killed off for two messes of people in an unhealthy relationship
