Hearts Desires (ongoing, 2 chps) Still playing with Zach the magician, this one is meant to be a fairly short exploration of magic/runes, Zach's obsession with Jenny, his inability to readjust after the game, and coming out to himself. And tree sex. It's a weird one.

Unpublished pre-canon Jenny thing where she's kind of aware of something (Julian) watching her at night (spicy, pester me about it if you're interested)

Ties that Bind: A queer, polyamorous, Romeo and Juliet with shapeshifters set on a backdrop of the first tentative peace in a thousand year war. Anticipated f/f, m/m, and many other shapes of m/f/m and/or f/m/f, potentially kinky if I ever get it there. Also potentially ace/qpr stuff if I can ever figure out my MC and what is true in this fic vs what belongs in side projects. Canon's hotter cousin with more magic, more setting development, A LOT more romance, and a distant relation to the original in the way that Vaporeon resembles Eevee. It wants to still fit in canon's clothes but really needs to admit its grown too big for that.

This is the big one. I realized revisiting my favorite childhood series that the big epic romance I always remembered was mostly in my head. So I decided to get it out of my head and onto paper. That is... not what happened XD It follows the basic Romeo/Julietness of Hawksong, but I decided to really explore the world and characters and so made a lot of executive decisions bc there actually isn't that much about the world/characters in the original. It's diverged wildly, spiraled out of control into a 30+ chapters novel (lets be honest) and isn't ending any time soon. It's the one I most want to work on so send me asks and encouragement about it so I can get working on it again :P

Basically, Zane and Danica are still deeply dedicated to peace. They think the idea of getting married to achieve it is ridiculous, but they're desperate enough to keep it on the back burner. Dani gets to know Zane (and Adelina) as friends. She explores her relationship with Rei. She struggles with bureaucracy and a well-meaning mother that doesn't always support her in the way she needs. Also there's a bit more magic, a lot more setting, and a bunch of characters I kinda made up to help flesh things out (hello Vasili's made up cousin). Current plans include finishing it with some sort of marriage, but I haven't decided if Zanica is endgame or not (the dynamic currently in the lead in my head is Dani takes Adelina as her Alistair, Zane takes Rei as his Nag, and the four of them all kinda co-rule. We'll see. Everyone is going to kiss everyone else before its done that's for sure)

Frayed Knots (ongoing, 20 chps) The place where all the scenes I thought would go in TTB but didn't wind up. Some one offs, some deleted scenes. A mixed bag of spicy adult stuff and just fun character exploration. Iirc spicy chapters are marked as such Current offerings include: abandoned TTB starts, some BDSM scenes with Z/D/R/A, Dani getting herself off and thinking too hard, an alternative Snakecharm opening from Kel's POV, some Oliza stuff, some Marus/Urban stuff, and some Dasi High stuff. Really, Frayed Knots is a great place to start if you wanna read TTB but are kind of intimidated by its scope. Most FK entries are 1-3 chapters. A sampler platter of my nonsense basically :P

Dasi High (abandoned, 4 chps) Kiesha and Co Highschool AU, basically what if the Dasi was a show on the CW. A fun idea, but not actually my cup of tea. Would probably be more fun to ramble about in discord than actually write

I really loved the idea, but I don't know if it grabbed me enough to make want to wrestle it into submission like I do TTB. With TTB, I don't know the story yet, so I can trick myself into working on it bc I wanna know what happens. With FS, I know what my intended plot will be, so this one would need a lot of outside hype to get me working on it again. But I think it could be really really cool if I did. Holy Fire (one off, post canon what if) A sort of song fic where Zach thinks way too hard about Jenny and tries to become a magician. I have these ideas about Jenny half light faerie, hence Julians obsession with her. In this fic, Zach is trying to learn magic to protect Julian so FB doesn't happen again. He winds up getting the attention of a light faerie, who tasks him with being Jenny's knight until they're ready to come bring her home. Basically, the song Holy Fire by Seeming wouldn't leave me alone one day and this fell out.

X - A trope which you are almost certain to love in any fandom.

Another one would be... rejecting the Call. I love when heroes say no to the mission/quest/job they've been tasked to do and the world conspires to try and get them to do it. Any variant is fun.

Y - What are your secondhand fandoms (i.e., fandoms you aren’t in personally but are tangentially familiar with because your friends/people on your dash are in them)?

Just by exposure I'd have to say Danny Phantom (just joking). Perhaps Star Wars? I saw the films up to the first one with Rey, but I know a ridiculous amount of lore, story telling, Jedi headcanons, all of which I'm grateful for, they're fascinating. Also my partner was kind of big on Star Wars so I got exposure through their fics too.

Z - Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go! (Prompts optional but encouraged.)

Oh gosh. Okay. I love reading fanworks that are highly introspective but true to the character. I'm very limited in terms of empathy/understanding emotion, and as such I've always felt like fandom was a way to feel more human/connected, because I can see events subjectively or to greater detail as the author explains them through the characters, or even just elaborates on the cost of something. Suddenly I'm like oh that's why [character/someone in my life] would feel this way.

I think fandom/fan-creations have kind of been essential to my understanding of other people and growth as a person, and why I agree that they are "transformative" works.

Kinai Okamoto

He's been raised by his maternal grandparents, Kenji and Rei, since he was just a few days old, and was legally adopted by them when he was less than a year old. He knows they're actually his grandparents, but he thinks of them as his parents. While Yuri and Yuki, his biological uncle and aunt, struggled to figure out how to name their relationship to him (uncle and aunt or brother and sister?), Kinai has always just thought of Yuri and Yuki as his siblings. Yuri is the oldest, and there's a twenty-five year age gap between him and Kinai.

He likes travelling and he likes having adventures. His latest adventure is a year-long stay in Canada, to fine-tune his English, get some work experience and spend time with big brother Yuri & family.

His current pet peeve is how his cousin Caroline calls him “Uncle Kinai”. She does it to tease him. They’re both adopted, and although Caroline isn’t biologically related to the Okamoto family at all, their adoptions do technically make Kinai her uncle. He thinks it’s silly and ridiculous for her to call him that, especially considering he’s only four years older than her, and of course she’s aware of that and does it more, just to get a rise out of him.

He loves music. He sings as beautifully as his grandfather Kenji, and he’s just as skilled on the piano as him too.

He’s excited by the idea of taking over leadership of the family company someday. He feels like he was destined for leadership.

The timeskip is IMMENSE! I was expecting the next chapter to take place in perhaps Feb/March, but as some other people have pointed out, Fathers' Day is celebrated in June in Japan. That's wild!

(Also, doesn't this mean that Miri should be out of daycare and starting her formal education?)

On the one hand, skipping 6 months makes a lot of sense: we get the sense that the Organisation is very big and very powerful, so it would be ridiculous if the Buddies Who Were Formerly Daddies were able to take it out overnight — they'd need time to plan and get their ducks in a row (hurhur). I think Kyuu-chan is also going to be instrumental in taking out the Organisation; he does carry a lot of cards, after all.

That's... assuming that Rei is planning a long game and looking to take the Organisation down. In Episode 8, he asked Suwa Shigeki to give him time. And so, Rei's taken nearly a year to wrap up loose ends — but what are those loose ends now that Miri is out of the picture? Are Rei and Kazuki still in the swanky pad at the start of Episode 11... or have they already moved out?

My guess is that Rei is given the order to kill Kazuki. Obviously, Rei isn't going to be out to kill Kazuki — but he will have to demonstrate that he's 'serious' about the new mission and so, I think he'll opt for shooting Kazuki in the shoulder. I think Ogino is too ruthless to leave Kazuki with a non-fatal wound.

As much as I love Rei's place, it is nice that the pair move out — ultimately, when they're reunited with Miri, they can make a fresh start in a new home that has no ties to the Organisation.

Much Ado About You

Scenario Prompt: Much Ado About Nothing Trick - Your friends make you think 'X' is in love with you. 'X's friends do the same. Making both of you realize you actually do have feelings for one another. Requested By: Anonymous (Mystery Prompt request Black 31)

Pairing: Poe Dameron x GN!Reader

Plot: Rey and Finn are tired of Poe and Y/n's bickering love-hate relationship, when it is obvious they are perfect for one another. So, they decide to do something about it. Let the games begin.

Warnings and Notes: None! Just some non-movie-plot related fun and hi-jinks! Based roughly on the Much Ado About Nothing plot between Beatrice and Benedick. If you have not seen the movie (the 1993 version) I highly suggest it, and here is a link to one of my favorite scenes.

"You know that makes no sense right?" You asked with a light scoff.

Poe rolled his eyes. "It doesn't make sense to you. To me, it makes perfect sense."

"Ah, then it must be something so profoundly ridiculous that it can only be understood by those who can't access the part of their brain that supplies logic."

Poe let out out an offended scoff as he turned back to Finn and Rey "Are you two hearing this?"

Rey stared blankly ahead. "I stopped listening already."

"I've been listening but I have no idea what you two are talking about." Finn added on with a confused tone.

"And I don't blame either of you, Poe is the only one who can understand his own logic anyways." You spared a sly smile at Poe as you began to turn away. "I have to go, I have much more important things to do."

"Yeah right." Poe scoffed as he turned to walk the opposite direction. "You can pretend to have an important job all you want Y/n, but we all know you mostly just sit around anyways!"

"Hey, that was a bit harsh Poe." Finn added on.

Poe shrugged his shoulder as he began to walk away. "They know I'm kidding."

"Do they?" Rey asked softly as she looked over at Finn.

"One day one of those two are gonna say something that crosses a line." Finn said in response.

"Why can't they just get along? I don't understand it! They seem like they would be best friends, but all they do is bicker and argue."

"Seriously! When I met both of them I honestly thought they would be perfect for each other."

"Right?!" Rey exclaimed. Thinking for a moment, she looked over at Finn. "You know, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if their arguing isn't just a way to hide their actual feelings..."

Finn nodded his head slowly as a smile spread across their face. "I bet they're actually head over heels for one another. But, maybe they think they are the only ones, so-"

"So they act like they actually hate each other to spare their own feelings!"

Rey and Finn stared at each other with wide smiled and looks of realization. "That has to be it!" Rey added.

"And if we're right, then, maybe we could do something about it..." Finn said slowly.

Rey looked between the to paths that you and Poe took as she wracked her brain for an idea. Looking over at Poe she smiled "I think I know something we could do."

As Poe hung half way into the engine of his glider, he didn't see Finn and Rose sneak up to be closer. Finn looked at Rose and nodded his head, Rose responded in kind as they both straightened up.

"You're kidding right?" Finn said, his voice a little louder than he intended, causing Rose to give him a slight nudge.

Poe looked up at the sound of Finns voice, wondering what was going on.

"No, I'm serious!" Rose said with a feigned dramatic tone.

Once Poe heard Rose respond, he continued to work on his ship, listening a bit more out of curiosity.

"So you're saying, that Y/n, thee Y/n, actually has feelings for Poe?!"

As Poe heard this, his grip loosened out of surprise, and he fell forward. Catching himself before he fell face first into the engine, he froze in place, hoping that Finn and Rose did not hear the clang and grunt of surprise that had followed.

Finn and Rose glanced up, having most definitely heard the surprise of Poe. They shared a smile, but continued.

"Yeah, I was surprised too, seeing as they seem to be so constantly annoyed by him. But really, Y/n is crazy about him!"

"Are you sure Y/n wasn't joking, just trying to rile you up?"

"No Finn, they weren't. I'd never seen someone so confused by their feelings. Y/n does seriously have feelings for Poe, but Y/n thinks that Poe hates them, so they just try to avoid feeling at all, and instead reflect Poe's own actions!"

Finn nodded his head in encouragement as Rose spoke.

Poe slowly and quietly peaked over the side of his ship to see Finn and Rose more clearly. Surely they were joking, they must know he was here. But Finn wouldn't do something like that, would he?

"Did Y/n say if they were going to tell Poe?"

"Oh no, no way."

"Should we tell him? Maybe he should know?"

"No way! Poe would just make a joke of it! He'd tease Y/n and use the knowledge of their feelings to torment them!"

"Wha-!" Poe began to exclaim in offense before he cut himself off, ducking down with a grimace.

Finn and Rose looked over, having heard the noise. After a moment, when Poe seemed to remain quiet, they smiled at each other as they repressed their laughter.

Finn let out an exaggerated sigh. "Maybe you're right. Poe's not the best at expressing his feelings. I just wish he could see how perfect he and Y/n would be together. They are so similar, and their differences even compliment each other. Yet, maybe it's for the best, Y/n is such a great person, and I've never heard Poe express that he wants a serious relationship. I love him, but I have to admit, maybe he's not worthy of Y/n's love."

Poe frowned at this comment.

There was a moment of silence between Rose and Finn before Rose spoke again. "I suppose we will just have to wait and see. It's not our place to meddle. Come on, lets go get some lunch." Rose said softly.

Poe peaked out, seeing Rose and Finn leaving the hangar together. As soon as he was alone, Poe began to pace around as he thought of what had just happen.

If it was anyone besides Rose saying this, Poe wouldn't have believed it. But he knew you and Rose were close, so if you were to tell anyone you would tell her, or Rey. Did Rey know? If she did, Rey was a secretive type, she would never betray your trust.

Poe sighed as he sat down and ran his hands through his hair.

'I would never have thought Y/n felt anything for me with the way they act towards me. Then again, I act the same exact way.'

As the thought of what Rose said passed through his mind, Poe stood up, letting out a frustrated scoff. "I would not make a joke out of it! Or tease them! I- I-" He stopped and stared down at the floor.

Thinking solely of the fact that you had feelings for him, he felt his heart palpitate harshly in his chest. He thought of you, watching him with secret feelings, and suffering through his harsh comments, his jokes, his seemingly indifferent opinion of you. He felt guilt rocket through him.

"I'd try to ignore my feelings too if I were Y/n." He mumbled to himself. Rubbing his hand over his face, he let out a sigh and started to pace around. "Y/n probably thinks I hate them." More guilt clenched at his chest. 'But that's not true. I don't hate Y/n, I can't hate Y/n.' His thoughts went silent for a moment as a sudden realization hit him.

Hearing the soft sound of beeping coming closer, Poe looked over to see BB8 rolling up to him. As BB8 noticed the look on Poe's face, the small droid beeped in concern.

"I'm an idiot BB8." Poe said softly, and the droid beeped in confusion. "All this time I didn't see it. I didn't see Y/n's feelings, and I ignored my own. I don't hate Y/n. Not even close. I think- " Sitting down suddenly he let out a soft laugh "I think I like Y/n too. Much more than I expected."

BB8 let out an alarmed yet almost gleeful chorus of beeps as he turned and began to flee the room. Poe watched him in alarm before chasing after him "Where are you going!? BB8 no!"

Stopping the droid, Poe pointed at him. "You cannot go tell anyone, especially not Y/n! You understand? I need to do it myself, got it?"

The droid let out a disappointed whir before beeping in agreement. Poe stood up and let out a stressed sigh. "Now how exactly do I tell them?"

As you walked through the wooded area looking for Rey, you stopped when you thought you heard voices. Turning you walked closer, but stopped when you thought you heard your name.

"Are you going to tell Y/n?"

You frowned as you peaked your head around the corner of a tree, seeing Rey and Finn talking.

"Tell Y/n that Poe is in love with them?" He scoffed. "I don't think so."

Your eyes widened and your mouth fell open. 'Poe What!?' Quietly slumping down so they might not see you, you slowly crept closer, carefully as to not make any noise.

"Why not?" Finn asked.

"Because Y/n despises him? How do you think they would feel if they learned that Poe has had feelings for them the whole time?"

You turned away and leaned against the tree. Your heart started pounding heavily as you became a bit breathless. 'Poe, has feelings for me?'

"How do you know Y/n doesn't actually have feelings for Poe?"

"I would assume Y/n would have told me!"

You winced a little bit at this comment. You had been struggling with your feelings for Poe for a while now. You had considered telling Rey, but chose not to. Not until you figured it out first.

"Besides, I don't think I would want Y/n and Poe to be in a relationship."

You rose a brow and listened closely. 'Why?'

"Why?" Finn spoke your own thought aloud.

"They bicker all the time! How do you know they would not always be fighting or challenging one another?"

You bit the inside of your lip. That might be true.

"What if they bicker and argue because they have no other way of hiding their feelings?"

You shrugged your head in agreement of Finns comment.

"You have to tell Y/n! Or at least ask them how they feel."

As Rey and Finn began to walk further away, you heard Rey sigh. "I don't know Finn. I'll think about it."

Watching them disappear though the trees, you let out a breath you didn't know you had been holding.

'How does Rey know Poe has feeling for me? Did she over hear him talking to someone? Did she somehow sense it within him?'

Grabbing a leaf off of a tree, you began to rip it apart unknowingly as you mind raced. You continued down the path back towards the base.

'When I bicker and pick fights with Poe, is it because I want to ignore how I truly feel? And if he likes me, does he do the same? If he liked me so much, even loved me as Rey said, why would be be so cruel sometimes? Does he think that I hate him, so the fact that he has feelings for me makes him angry?'

You stopped in your tracks for a moment. 'All this time, we've felt the same things? No, surely not. Rey must be mistaken.' Shaking the thought away, you continued back towards the base, trying to push away your overwhelmed thoughts.

"Do you think it worked?" Rey asked.

Finn shrugged a bit. "I hope so. But what if they just decide to avoid each other?"

Rey frowned, "Maybe we should design a plan so they might have to be around each other?"

"Actually I don't think we have to."

Rey followed Finn's line of sight, seeing you coming from the wooded area, and to your left, out of sight, Poe coming from nearby. "Oh, lets go, hide!" Rey grabbed Finn and pulled him around the corner, as they watched you two unknowingly grow closer.

Your mind was racing as you walked back towards the base, as you tried to figure out what to do. If Rey was wrong, and Poe did not have feelings for you, you could end up much more embarrassed and hurt. Then again, if he does have feelings for you, and you avoid them, he might move on entirely.

Poe muttered to himself as he tried to rehearse what to say to you. BB8 was gliding along at his feet, occasionally giving a beep of encouragement.

As Poe entered into the courtyard, he stopped in his tracks as he saw you coming closer from another path. He felt his heart pick up pace, and he suddenly felt the urge to turn and leave. But as he began to, he met your eyes and you halted in your own tracks upon seeing him.

There was a moment of still silence between you as you stared at each other.

"Oh come on, say something!" Rey whispered desperately as she and Finn watched from nearby.

"Uh, hey." Poe said awkwardly.

"Hi?" You responded awkwardly, as you began to walk closer, unsure of what to do. And aware that he seemed to be acting oddly. Does he know that you know?"

BB8 looked between you before beeping encouragingly at Poe. Poe looked down at BB8 before exclaiming with feigned surprise. "Oh yeah! I forgot about that, thanks BB8." Turning to you he spoke hurriedly. "I forgot Raymond asked me to get him some tools before I left, I should go do that." Turning, he walked off back towards the hanger, bb8 following behind him beeping rapidly.

You watched him for a moment before you let out a breath and made your way back to the base. He was definitely acting odd, maybe he did know you knew. But how?

Finn and Rey let out disappointed sighs as Poe fled. "Coward." Rey muttered with annoyance as she and Finn turned to leave before you spotted them.

Poe kept taking deep breaths as he made his way to the facility you worked in. He was going to do it, he was going to tell you how he felt. He hoped.

It had been a couple days since he had first learned of your feelings for him, and the realization of his own. He hadn't seen you since, and wasn't sure exactly how he would react when he did see you again. In reality, he could turn and run again.

Poe's thoughts were distracted when he heard the sound of various voices and shouting from the other side of the facility. From behind the building, he could see smoke rising into the sky. Quickening his walk into a jog, he began to run around the side of the facility.

As soon as he did, he spotted you. And in front of you, a man he recognized, clearly angry with you.

"You did work on these droids didn't you?"

You let out a hiss of breath as you spoke, trying to keep your calm. "Yes, I did, but I clearly stated that they were not ready to be used yet." You gestured your hand to the now sparking and half-destroyed turret droid. "If you had listened to me, this wouldn't have happened."

The man got closer, practically spitting in your face. "And if you would have done your damn job it wouldn't have been a problem in the first place!"

"Hey!"

Both you and the man looked over at the sudden voice, and felt your heart jump when you saw Poe approaching. He had a scowl on his face as he looked at the man in front of you.

"What the hell are you doing yelling at Y/n for? Did they or did they not say the droids weren't ready to use?"

"Sir, we needed them to run-"

"I don't care what you needed them for, answer my question."

You stared at Poe in shock as he angrily defended you. Something he had never really done before.

The man scowled and let out a huff of air. "Yes, but-"

"No." Poe interrupted "You don't get to make excuses, you used the droids when you knew you shouldn't have. Then it backfired on you. It's your fault and you don't get to blame Y/n for it, got it?"

The man clearly wanted to protest, or through a tantrum, but looking from you to Poe he let out a rough voice "Yes, Sir."

"Now go clean up your mess." Poe pointed at the destroyed droid, and watched the man saunter away in anger.

Poe looked over at you and immediately felt his heat skip a beat. You were staring at him with a mix of surprise, confusion and a bit of amusement.

Realizing you were staring at him, you clearing your throat a little. "Thanks."

"No problem. I'm sorry I intervened, I just, saw him getting in your face and couldn't stop myself."

"No, it's alright. Honestly I was about one moment away from hitting him. So you saved me some paperwork and a stern telling off." You let out a soft laugh and Poe's smile widened.

Poe looked over at the droid, finally seeing it for the first time. "Is that a turret droid?"

You nodded "Yeah. I designed it specifically to scan the atmosphere for enemy ships. It only fires if it scans a ship charging their weapons and aiming at the planet. And I programmed it to recognize our ships signatures. You can also access it remotely and fire it from the weapons room."

Poe looked over at you in surprise. "And here I thought you just made Protocol droids."

You rolled your eyes a bit. "Not just." You pointed at a nearby medical droid that scanned an injured soldier "Made that one too."

"Seriously?" He asked with an air of surprise.

"You'd know if you'd ever asked, instead you just joke that I don't do anything important."

You saw Poe close his eyes in shame and he opened them again and smiled sheepishly. "I'm sorry I ever said that, I just like to get you riled up."

You smiled at him and shook your head. "You're pretty good at it."

His smile widened and he suddenly remember what he had come here for. "Uhm, do you need to deal with this? I was, uh, hoping we could talk. But I can come back later."

You felt your heart immediately begin pounding heavily as your neck burned hot. "No, I can't do anything with it yet. What did you want to talk about?"

Poe motioned his head away from the facility as he began to walk. Falling into step beside him, you watched his profile as he seemed to be thinking of what to say.

Looking over at you, he stopped and faced you. Looking around he noted that you were far enough away from the crowd that no one would hear him.

"I uh, I recently discovered something that's been heavy on my mind the last few days."

You swallowed nervously. Was he seriously going to admit he had feelings for you? Right now? "Whats that?"

"Well to be frank, that you have feelings for me."

You felt your breath hitch in your throat. "I-that, what?"

Poe could see the confusion on your face and grew nervous. "Well, don't you?"

"I- where did you hear that?"

"Well, technically I overheard it."

"From who?" Your voice was a bit higher in pitch.

"From Finn and Rose, I heard them talking and they said that you had feelings for me!"

"But I overheard Rey and Finn saying you had feelings for me!"

"What?"

You stared at each other for a moment before you both realized what was happening.

"Oh." You muttered.

Poe let out a scoff as he turned away, "What did they think would come out of this?" He said softly.

"If it's their version of a joke it's not a very good one." You muttered softly.

Hearing the sensitive emotion in your voice, Poe looked back at you. He swallowed before he slowly took a step closer. "So, then, you...don't have feelings for me?"

"Do you have feelings for me?" You countered.

He opened his mouth to complain before he shook his head and let out a soft laugh. "I didn't realize I did until I thought you did."

Your chest was tight with anxiety and excitement. "I think I did before, but I wasn't certain until I thought you felt the same."

Poe took another small step closer. "So, you do?"

You nodded softly, repressing the urge to smile. Poe stared into your eyes as he processed what just happened. "So. They tricked us, into realizing that we had feelings for one another?"

Letting out a soft laugh you shrugged your head. "Maybe they could see what we couldn't."

Poe smiled and shook his head. "I wonder how long it would have taken if they hadn't done this."

You looked down at your feet and shook your head. "Ages, probably."

Poe watched you for a moment with a fond gaze. Reaching forward, he gently took your hand in his, causing you to look back up at him.

He let out a soft breath. "I'm sorry I was always so annoying to you. I enjoyed our arguments and jokes, and the way we challenged each other. But, I'm assuming, that you thought I didn't really like you all that much?" He met your gaze with a questioning look.

"I certainly didn't think you thought fondly of me. Did you think the same about me?"

He shrugged his head a bit. "A bit."

"I'm sorry too."

Taking a step closer, Poe was now right in front of you. You met his eyes shyly as he stared into yours. You noted how his eyes flicked to your lips momentarily, and you held your breath.

"Oh, would you just kiss already!"

You both looked over out of surprise, seeing Rey, Finn and Rose standing nearby.

Finn smacked Rey's arm "They were getting to that!"

"Yeah, slowly!"

You let out a sharp laugh, causing Poe to look over at you. He shook his head as laughter bubbled up in his own chest. Suddenly, Poe cupped your face with his hands and pressed a kiss to your lips.

You felt your face and ears burning hot, but leaned into the kiss, deepening it. You ignored the comments coming from the others nearby as they made jokes and whistled.

Pulling away, Poe stared into your eyes with a smile. "Better late than never I suppose."

You grinned up at him, before you both leaned into another kiss. Gently placing your hands on his face, he wrapped his arms around your waist as he pulled you closer.

Rey nudged Finn in his side as she grinned. "Told you it would work."

i have no better way of starting this letter or a more accurate way to address you , because i don't know you . it's unfair , isn't it ? you get to come into my head whenever you want , over and over again every night of my life , and i get nothing . this might be as close as i'll ever get to being heard , and you'll never even read it . luckily , i'm persistent . maybe even more than you are .

i'd like to ask you to stop . my morals tells me i should assure you that it's not you , it's me , but it is you . i'm so , so tired , it's impossible to describe how tired i am . cat ( a friend , you should try her dreams next ) says i need to loosen up a little , ' live a little ' but i can't , i don't how to . if this is my life , how come i'm the only person who has no idea of who they are or what's going on ? i just want to understand . i want to know who i am , to remember or just not feel so ridiculously alone . i want to move on ; from the accident , from these weird migraines , these dreams and i've been trying to find the answers . i try all the time , every hour of every day and night . i'm trying to be someone , if not for myself then for others , for the sailor guardians , for my friends , but i don't think i can't do that with you around .

it's starting to get a little ridiculous to scroll through on mobile so I'm making a new post woo

'and he can cook' is so true. I don't think Dante's ever done a single chore in his life.

I too would find the smoke wolves and foxes sexy by virtue of being Plain Fucking Cool. Karu tries to make all his special moves Sexy Because It's Cool but it doesn't always work out for him.

while Blade is getting his asmr channel off the ground, he's simultaneously continuing the search for the weird exhibitionist vigilantes. one day he manages to actually track them down. he doesn't try to fight the monster directly because he's well aware that without magic powers and with a lingering injury he'd just be a hindrance, but he has other ways of helping in a fight.

Rei: Aster, Morvay, did you zap another guy without telling us?

Aster: ?? dumbass incubus, the fuck did you do?

Morvay: I didn't do anything!!!

Blade keeps showing up. the trio are worried about a civilian getting hurt, and they're worried about the fact that one person was able to consistently track them down, and whether that means more people with worse intentions can find them.

Aster and Morvay make A Plan. the plan is to zap Blade as well. surely it's foolproof.

they do not manage to zap him the next time he shows up. or the next time. or the time after that. Blade is very good at dodging and the familiars, god bless them, are very hapless. it isn't until Rei yells at him that hey, those aren't monsters, they're trying to give you the same magic powers we have, that Blade stands still and accepts it.

the trio are baffled and deeply fucking jealous that Blade gets to have a cool leather suit for his magical girl uniform.

Quincy: ...why does he get to wear that and we have to wear... this?

Morvay: dunno. different people have different powers?

afterwards, Blade does help them cover up their tracks better with regards to technology.

also I just realised and am amused that Huey just isn't in this AU. I have no fucking clue how he could possibly fit in so I guess he remains non-existent.

ooooooh I like that there's two different kinds of monsters! the generated monsters range from mildly annoying to moderately destructive, but it never gets too rough. the transformed monsters are Bad News. no one has a good day when someone is in enough despair to transform.

there are posters everywhere on what to do if you think your friend has generated a monster. there are support groups for those who have become monsters. life is rough, and rougher still when magic monsters exist, but people try their best to cope.

uwaaaaaaaah karu,,

there's a lot leading up to his monster transformation. he knows that there's a wedge between him and garu. garu's so worried about him because karu keeps disappearing and getting hurt, his grades are dropping, his clothes keep getting destroyed.

garu keeps begging karu to just talk to him, they're brothers, what can karu possibly be doing that he can't tell garu? and karu keeps shoving garu away. he's fine. he doesn't need to talk. he's the older brother, he has to protect garu, garu doesn't need to know about this.

this is the most distant they've ever been since they were born. it hurts.

have another snippet of a scene

It took a while, but eventually, Moonstone's -- no, Karu's -- sobbing petered out. The rest of the Gemstone Clan, seeing that the two brothers just needed a good cry, split off to help with cleanup and with reassuring civilians, but they were never more than a shout away.

Garu had heard about their face-hiding magic, had seen it in clips, but it was a lot more uncanny seeing it in person. It wasn't that they were featureless, or blurry -- it was that your mind couldn't grasp onto what it was seeing. When Karu lifted his head up, Garu expected to see the same effect.

There was a shift, of sorts. The click of a key turning in a lock. The refocusing of a camera lens. Reality itself taking two steps to the side. Something snapped into focus, and Garu didn't see the veil of magic -- rather, he saw the face he saw every day in the mirror. Golden-eyed and snotty and stained with tear tracks, but achingly familiar.

This time, it was Garu's turn to bury his face in his brother's shoulder. This time, he was beaming. "Karu?"

"Mmph?"

"Let's go home."

I greatly enjoy how much people end up mushed into Olivine. it is collectively agreed that he and Quincy make the best pillows.

BEGONE, DEGENERATE IMPLEMENT becomes a Sapphire meme. sometimes it's the picture of Edmond throwing the toy, but mostly it's various photos of Sapphire glaring with glowing red eyes edited in.

god Dante just cannot catch a break lmfao. Eiden half-jokingly offers to buy him Tourmaline merch to cheer him up. Dante just glares at him then wilts back into shinji pose.

one time I went to pride in a European country (it was either Germany or the Netherlands?) and there was a stall selling penis and vulva shaped popsicles. there HAS to be penis shaped popsicles at the gemstone day parade. there are nine unique flavours for most of the gemstone clan and then Neon's flavour is a rainbow popsicle that has everyone else's flavours combined.

Blade comes back with three penis popsicles and offers two of them to Eiden and Dante. Dante glares some more, but he sulkily accepts the Tourmaline popsicle. it's cherry flavoured.

Eiden does manage to get merch of himself and the squad! there were these sparkly keychains of each of their gemstones. he bought one for everyone and he loves them. and also he bought topper and father plushies. and a bunch of postcards and stickers and pins. and a few doujinshi.

Moonstone very pointedly does not raid the penis popsicle ice cream cart.

"So what do you think?" Rafael looks up at Jake from where he sits on the small little bench between rows of shoes, trying on a pair of basic black sneakers. The big man looks tired - but they all do, the three men who more or less seem to be always be in charge. Jake more than anyone else, though.

"Um. They're a little too small," Raf says carefully, shifting his foot, kind of moving it in a circle before he stands up. The shoe squeezes painfully tight along the sides and the end, so he sits back down again. "I think I need the next size up."

His master and mistress had shoes custom-made for his measurements, and he'd had no idea what size he was. He'd just kept wearing the shoes he ran away in. But Jake suggested these tennis shoes, which would help him fit in better.

"Okay. You want to practice asking for help in public, or should I do it?" Jake smiles at him. No judgement, voice low.

Rafael shifts, looking down at his hands on the bench, his black jeans and black shirt. Thinks about getting someone's attention in a store, and telling her what she's given him first isn't right, he wants - he deserves - the right thing.

His face heats at the idea and he clears his throat. "If-... if you would-"

"No problem. Just give me a second." Jake steps away, and Rafael overhears him, muffled from distance, saying I think I need help with this- to some customer service person, cheery and chipper.

Rafael takes the too-small shoe back off and sets it carefully in the box. Tissue paper rustles as he closes it back up and places it back on the shelf, half-hopping with one bare foot to do it.

"... oh, it's you," Someone says just off to his right, and he turns-

And he's eye-to-eye with one of the ones he used to go home with, when he was in the last safehouse. He's used to seeing the guy with short shorts and a tank top and a lazy, half-eager smile. But now he's in a polo shirt and long pants and shocked, and Rafael might not even recognize him except for his hair.

"Shit. We all thought you were refurbed," The guy says, voice low. He's always had Rafael call him Rei, but he has everyone call him something different. "Are you-... are you here with-"

"I'm in a n-new house," Rafael says, almost whispering. "I-I left-... I was kicked out of the other one. For..."

Rei smiles, wry and faded and sad. "For seeing us? You got caught?"

Rafael's throat tries to close and he slowly nods. He feels... naked, in a way he's never felt when he actually is naked. Rei and the others saw him in a way no one else did, weeping and begging for physical touch when he was denied it everywhere else and couldn't keep his head on straight.

"I'm sorry," Rei says, and looks to one side. Rafael watches his dark eyes flicker left and then back again, and Raf follows his gaze to see the perky young manager chatting with Jake, her head slightly to one side. She's flirting - Jake, Rafael thinks, hasn't noticed. Maybe won't notice.

Rafael can always tell when someone's flirting.

He's an expert on flirting.

"No, it's okay. It's... here is better. Where I am now, I mean. It's so much better. You remember, the one time when I told you about the guy in the museum who told me to call? I'm, I'm in his safehouse now. It's better. Are you-... are you not-"

Rei laughs, almost soundless. He shakes his head and moves forward, and Rafael takes in a soft breath. For a second, he hopes - ridiculous as it is - that he'll be kissed. No one really kisses him anymore. Not even Chris, who comes as close as anyone does, but holds back. And that's-... that's okay...

He... misses how it felt to be twisted up inside, though. When it was good, it felt like how he was always meant to feel. But when it wasn't...

It was worth running because of when it wasn't.

Still...

But there's no kiss. All Rei does is move past him, patting him on the arm. "I've got three jobs," He says, with a shrug. "This is one of 'em. I'm glad that you found somewhere good for you, though." He smiles, more sincerely this time. Presses his fingertips to his own lips, and then moves his hand to the side of Rafael's face. "Glad you don't need us anymore."

"You could go to a safehouse," Rafael says, in a rush. He grabs at Rei's hand, startling him. Kisses those fingertips himself. It's not right, it's not-... normal, but he can't stop himself. "You don't have to work so hard, you don't-"

"Not everyone's cut out for the safehouses," Rei says, kind but firm, and pulls his hand back away. "Trust me. You're better off here, but I wouldn't be."

"What?" Rei starts to walk away, and Rafael stares after him. "Why?"

Rei doesn't turn back.

"Because not everyone can be saved."

in most universes, eiden works at an adult toy shop.

in this one, he owns a coffee shop.

it's a damned good one too, with regular customers and everything. his hires aren't anything to scoff at either—there's this really tall, really buff barista who comes straight from the rainforests of indonesia and can tell a bean's freshness just from smelling them (and sometimes brings his pet ferret to work, which is both a riot and a health hazard eiden has to work around for the inspectors), as well as the shyer, more inexperienced college graduate working part-time shifts to support his grad degree and his lovely grandparents at home, who gets really nervous about the espresso machine at first but later on becomes a pro and even teaches himself how to fix it when it breaks down.

yeah, quincy and yakumo are definitely his best hires (no favoritism though)!

alongside that he has his regular customers: the uptight head of some security firm who always comes in in the morning for eiden's strongest cup of caffeine before marching off to work (it takes him a month before he gets the guy to tell him his name is edmond so eiden can stop pretending he didn't google search him up the first day), the probably-is-a-CEO-or-a-mafia-heir-can't-decide-which business-coded guy who somehow never shows up in a suit, but just radiates money (and also had to be asked outside by eiden once, when he took out a fancy pipe and just started smoking indoors), the always wholesome priest of their local church, and the pair of high schoolers who drop by every week for snacks, short-and-pink dragging the cousin he always bullies (and who has a fatal weakness to eiden's hand-made croissants).

so all in all, life is good.

it maybe gets even a little better when he starts seeing some of his adult favorites and regulars after work on more, cough, intimate terms.

but then one day, he shows up.

towering, blond, handsome, and ridiculously well-dressed—the kind of guy you expect to ask his assistant to get him coffee, not come into a shop and order for himself.

and what the heck, he doesn't even ask for coffee, but a cup of tea. earl grey and a scone to go with it and—you know what, the customer is always right so eiden personally delivers the order with a flourish and a smile.

"first time here?" he asks, charming as always.

the guy barely looks at him. "yes. how long have you been open?"

eiden tells him and the guy asks more questions so surprisingly, they get along pretty well. by the time he's done it's getting to closing hours on a sunday, but it's quincy who grabs him during cleanup with a frown.

"what's wrong?" eiden asks him.

quincy just shakes his head. "he asked too many questions."

"maybe he was just interested in the person answering them?" eiden half-jokes. he doesn't think more of it, but the words do stick with him after that.

the blond guy doesn't come again, but a week later someone equally attractive shows up: black hair, green eyes, also pretty tall. he's dressed in a suit (but stiffly, it looks like he doesn't usually wear those kind of clothes) and introduces himself as klaus avenue, a representative of blah-and-blah company here to see the manager.

more importantly, he's part of a franchise firm here to buy them out.

of course eiden says no—this is his coffee shop and not some fancy brand name, dammit—but klaus only looks troubled. "it'll be better if you agree to the contract terms," he starts, "or else aurelius—i mean, my boss—will make trouble."

he probably means lawyers. well pooh pooh to them, eiden's got a lawyer too—on a technicality: his neighbor rei dabbles in law alongside his experiments and can hold his ground in a courthouse just fine.

when klaus finally sighs and asks him what would convince him, eiden challenges him to work for them instead to see why they're worth staying as an independent business.

to his surprise, klaus agrees.

somehow the arrangement lasts for weeks. it soon becomes apparent that klaus himself is using his "trial employment period" to delay the company's actions as much as possible, which works to an extent.

until the "boss" reappears.

eiden recognizes him at a glance: it's the same blond bastard who ordered tea and scones in his shop! he confronts the guy, but aurelius counters back by what he thinks he's doing hiring his boyfriend to work under him. apparently it's fine when aury does it since klaus is destined to sit on the board of directors for him one day, but not so in the case of some lowly coffee shop.

klaus disagrees. aurelius ignores him and somehow, eiden and his coffee shop gets caught in the middle of a cold war between their power couple. apparently this is all the impetus klaus needs to expose his boyfriend’s questionable business practices.

(eiden would ask, “why have him be your boyfriend at all?” but apparently this was the only way to stop aury from gaining a monopoly on the food and restaurant business? ??)

both sides use their best weapons: aurelius mobilizes the media to promote their agenda while klaus reaches out to grassroots movements for support. the disagreement reaches national TV and eiden’s coffee gets a buttload of publicity and business in the process. (it’s not all good, though: quincy has to wrestle with fame-hungry influencers crowding the doors while yakumo’s pressured to tears during one particularly busy lunch rush one day.) in the end eiden even has to close up shop for a few days for everyone’s mental health.

then rei calls with more bad news: aurelius has hired a bunch of big-clout, expensive lawyers to crush them in court and moreover, won olivine to his side in some form of weird guilt-trip reverse-pep-talk that has the poor priest trying to convince eiden to give in to the other side.

seeing this, klaus can’t sit still and proposes that eiden helps him with plan B: proposing marriage.

“wait, what?”

“if being his boyfriend was step 1, then marriage should be step 2.”

“will it really work with that bas—uh, i mean that president?”

“we can give it a try.”

“but klaus…if it works then that means you’ll have to marry him for real.”

to eiden’s shock, klaus only blushes in response.

“um, you don’t have to worry about that. i don’t mind…”

and so operation d-day (date day) commenced. at the very end klaus gets on his knees and proposes to aurelius right inside eiden’s coffee shop, surrounded by a marching band commanded by edmond with instruments rented from kuya (again, eiden still doesn’t know what he does) while eiden’s custom-baked sweets and yakumo’s tea and quincy’s silent stare looks on.

klaus thoughtfully mentions how special this moment is, and how much more special it’d remain if the coffee shop it happened in never changed but existed on its own independent of a franchise—and okay, a bunch of other mushy lines too, but honestly eiden can’t or doesn’t want to remember them when the blond bastard’s involved.

it works, and aurelius calls off everything to formally enter into an engagement with his beloved. he even agrees to the unholiest of unholies and lets his franchise workers unionize.

love, eiden marvels, really is a power that works wonders.

one year later, eiden’s coffee shop is thriving, his friends/lovers are all living well (though it took a few sessions to fix olivine back up again), and they’ve been invited to the “wedding of the century” for klaus and aurelius, all expenses paid, at some exotic location halfway across the world.

eiden gleefully closes the shop for his free vacation with his besties to witness the marriage of a guy he hates (& one that he thinks is all right, in the end).
