The planet!! Is dying!!!
Climate change and global warming are real and our time to fix this is greatly limited
We have only 11 years max to reverse decades of damage we have caused!
It might seem impossible but we CAN help stop this!!
Even if you want to be “funny” about this
“I don’t wanna live anyway lol”, it’s not just about you shithead (sorry I know that’s aggressive)! Humans, plants, and animals will die!
Birds have gone extinct, giraffes are endangered, polar bears and other animals from the artic are losing their homes and facing extinction, a whole colony of penguins have perished, extreme weather conditions are caused by this, most of the barrier reef is dead and dying and deforestation is a huge problem !! This is bigger than just humans! Earth dies? We ALL die !!!
How you can help saving earth:
* Buy LOCAL and ORGANIC foods!
* Use Ecosia! It is an app that is basically google but ! For every 45 searches they plant a tree!
* I’m not going to say “go completely vegetarian” because I know that that will not be listened to but try and cut down meat consumption big tim, the meat Industry pumps out a huge number of methane and co2 into the atmosphere along with the effects of more animals causing more overgrazing and less good land to farm on
* Carpool, cycle, use public transportation and try walk if you can! It cuts down on fossil fuels!
* Avoid products containing palm oil!!!!!!
* Don’t use plastic bags/straws / try steer away from foods packaged with plastic! If your concerned about food going off, mesh bags will keep vegetables from going off for almost the same amount of time as plastics will!
* Paper straws aren’t the best to use in reality as they basically disintegrate BUT USE METAL ONES!!! They won’t go soggy and they’re better than plastic ones and can be resused!
* Use reusable water bottles and cups instead of plastic and styrofoam ones!
* Switch off lights around the house and keep windows and doors closed to not waste electricity on heating/ac/unnecessary light!
* Use LED lights ! They’re brighter and greener than regular ones!
* If you’re cold avoid turning on radiators as best you can, buy a blanket to have or put on a jacket or something warmer, and if you’re cold lose a layer and drink some water to cool body temperature, open a window if need be!
* Buy large bottles of water (like the large 5L ones) this reduces the plastic used for smaller ones !
* Don’t ! Waste! Food! Places fruit and vegetables that are leftover (if they’re not eatable anymore) and or gone off into a compost bin, use the compost if gardening!
* Flick off the socket switch for anything you’re not using anymore!
* Don’t ! Use ! Pesticides !
* Stop using spray deodorant and dry shampoos!
* Reduce the number of baths you take!
Please, reblog this! We need to spread the word. What’s the point in studying for a future we won’t have? What’s the point in putting so much money into seeing other planets when our own is dying? When our home is BURNING? WAKE UP!

it doesn’t matter that corporations are responsible for 90% of pollution and trash in the world or whatever. stop littering, buy a resusable water bottle, support eco-friendly brands/products, recycle if you can, refuse plastic bags... we’re responsible as individuals too. even if it doesn’t have that much of an impact, just do better. it will have a big impact in the long run if everyone does it. one mistake doesn’t justify the other!

save money, reduce your waste
living on a student budget is hard, so here are some really simple ways to save money and help the environment:
stop buying plastic water bottles. it costs 2000x more to drink bottled water than tap water and if you refill from public water fountains you pay nothing at all! chemicals can seep from the plastic into your water and most tap water is better tested and regulated than bottled water. buy a steel water bottle and save $1400 per year
take your own coffee cup to cafes. many cafes offer a discount if you bring your own cup, i use a glass keep cup. pret a manger has just introduced a 50p discount if you bring your own cup so you would save £182.5 per year if you bought a coffee everyday
use reusable feminine hygiene products. the average woman in the UK spends over £400 on her period per year. a menstrual cup that costs around £20 can be reused for around 10 years, saving you £3980
take a reusable bag shopping. now it costs 5p for a plastic bag in the UK bring your own and avoid the charge. it may not sound like much but the pennies add up and if you will probably save £10 a year by ditching the plastic and bringing your own bag
stop using single-use cotton pads. if you use 4 pads a day (and it’s 100 for £2 in boots) you’ll save £30 a year by investing in a pack of resusable pads
stop buying food in packaging. where you can, buy loose vegetables and fill glass jars with dry product from bulk bins. you’d be surprised how much supermarkets charge you for packaging!

Why we should use resusable bags
If you know your recycling, you probably already know that most communities don’t accept plastic bags at all. And if you recycle like a pro, you may know that plastic bag recycling is a thing you can do at most local grocery stores, or superstores.
Tumblr media
But here’s where it gets confusing. Does that mean just the big bags from that store? Or can you recycle more? Most drop-off bag collections accept polyethylene film. This includes high-density polyethylene (HDPE or #2 plastic) and low-density polyethylene (pp woven bags #4 plastic or LDPE). It’s great if your bags have markings on them, but since most do not, it’s good to know some general guidelines.
Some plastics that can go into the bin are:
plastic shopping bags food packaging (Ziploc-type bags) bread bags plastic liners from cereal boxes produce bags dry cleaning bags (remove staples, receipts, hangars) plastic newspaper wrapping product wrapping (such as covers a case of water bottles, etc.) bubble wrap and air pillows (popped) plastic shipping envelopes (remove labeling) ALL materials should be clean and dry. Not just a quick rinse — if your bags are not completely clean of food residue, they will contaminate the entire batch.
Other plastics need to go into the trash. These include:
frozen food bags cereal box liners that tear like paper biodegradable bags pre-washed salad bags candy bar wrappers chip bags six-pack rings Why can’t I put bags in my bin? Although a small handful of communities accept plastic in curbside bins, the vast majority do not. That’s because most facilities don’t have the personnel and equipment they would need to process them.
Rigid plastics, like gallon milk containers, are easily processed by machine. They are carried by conveyor belts and machine sorted. But throwing plastic bags into the mix wreaks havoc on these machines. The bags bend easily and get snagged in belts. They jam machinery and need to be cleared by hand.
The extra labor required to handle these problems and higher amount of equipment downtime makes your recycling program less profitable. That means that your government has less to spend on other programs.

Curse of Discord
Tumblr media
A spell to bring chaos and disorder into your target’s life.
You will Need:
💀 Black Candle (cursing, negativity) 💀 Black Ink or Paint (confusion, chaos, negativity) 💀 Distilled Vinegar (sourness) 💀 Black Pepper (negativity, general cursing) 💀 Hot Sauce (pain, confusion) 💀 Thumbtacks or push pins 💀 Jar or bottle 💀 Taglock (if no taglock then a name written on a piece of paper will work)
Steps:
💀 Light your candle and have it burn during the duration of the spell.
💀 Place your taglock or the target’s name into the jar. Drop in push pins/thumbtacks
💀 Pour in your black pepper then add a few drops of hot sauce before filling it near to the top with your vinegar.
💀 hover your dropper/bottle of ink/paint over the top of the jar. “Disorder and chaos, confusion and disaster! I curse you, (target’s name), to face the wild whirlwinds of discord! Your skies will turn black and your structures will crumble! Disorder and Chaos, Confusion and disaster! I curse you, (target’s name), I throw you into madness!”
💀 Begin dripping/pouring in ink/paint until vinegar has turned black.
💀 Screw on the lid tightly and shake the jar focusing all of your frustrations and anger into the jar filling it with the negativity you want to enter their life. Imagine pillars crumbling, black clouds, wild winds and the ground crumbling as you shake.
💀 Once done shaking and filling it with negative baneful energy seal it with the wax from your candle.
💀 Store in a dark place. Shake it every time you need to make sure the target is in need of some more madness and disorder.
💀 To break curse simply unopen jar and pour out its contents somewhere that is safe to do so. If you wish to resuse jar be sure to cleanse it well with salt water and moonlight beforehand.

The Best Natural Cleaning Products for a Spotless Home
New Post has been published on http://healingawerness.com/news/the-best-natural-cleaning-products-for-a-spotless-home/
The Best Natural Cleaning Products for a Spotless Home
Here’s a confession no one will be surprised by: I am a total neat freak. Actually, I should say clean freak because I’m far more likely to spend an hour scrubbing the floors than folding my clothes or organizing my closet. It’s no secret I love things clean…a habit I 100% attribute to my Mom who is meticulous with her cleaning.
Now let me be clear: there is not such thing as a spotless home. I do my very best to keep things tidy but I’m human and life happens so having a perfectly clean home is never going to be my number one priority nor does it need to be. BUT I do feel genuinely happy and more at ease in a clean home so it’s something I make a point of keeping up with. And given how passionate I am about natural beauty, it’s only natural I also choose to use natural cleaning products for my home. So I thought I would spend this post breaking down why I use natural cleaning products, my cleaning schedule and the best natural cleaning products I’ve found on the market.
Why clean your home with natural cleaning products?
If you want to take a peek at the products you’re currently using to clean your home, head to the Environmental Working Group website and search for those products! They will rank each product with a grade of A-F where F=failing. The EWG takes into account the effects the harsh chemicals have on our respiratory system, skin irritation, developmental and reproductive toxicity, cancer concerns and environmental impact. It’s pretty startling to look at popular cleaning products. Not only are natural cleaning products better for your health, they’re also better for the environment. Flushing toxic chemicals down the drain pollutes our waterways and many conventional cleaning products are made with ingredients that are toxic, hazardous, non-biodegradable, as well as from non-renewable resources like petroleum that adversely affect our ecosystems.
Do natural products actually clean?!
YES!! Yes, yes, yes. I understand why people think you need the worst smelling, most intense cleaning products to thoroughly clean your home but the truth is, the non-toxic counterparts are just as effective if not more. Some traditional cleaning products can leave behind a residue that can build up over time and actually can collect more dust and dirt. Many are also intensely anti-bacterial and there are long-term side-effects to constantly wiping out the microbiome of your home. We need a healthy amount of bacteria to prevent illness so it’s time to ditch the bleach.
How to Transition to Non-Toxic Cleaning Products
Even though you might look up your cleaning products and want to toss everything instantly and switch, my advice is the same as transitioning to green beauty – you don’t have to do it all at once. As you run out of a certain cleaning product, swap to a non-toxic option. One of the best solutions I found for making the switch is Branch Basics. I was actually sent their cleaning kit a year and a half ago and had such a hard time believing that it could actually be effective that I left it collecting dust. I’ve since broken out the entire kit and given all the products a try. I like 90% of them and what makes them especially great is that you can reuse the bottles! All you’ll need to do is repurchase the cleaning concentrate and refill the bottles with the appropriate ratio of concentrate to water.
FYI: this post is NOT sponsored by them. I’ve since become an affiliate for them because of how impressed I am with many of their products, but as you’ll see below I also use a lot of other brands. Just wanted to mention them as they are a great starter kit for anyone wanting to switch to natural cleaning products.
Alright let’s jump into the products I use to clean my home naturally.
Let’s Get Cleaning
Branch Basics Products
I did want to highlight the products I use from branch basics first because there are several of them. As I mentioned above, Branch Basics has a starter kit for $59 which includes their all-purpose cleaning spray, bathroom spray, streak-free spray and hand soap bottles and cleaning concentrate. You simply fill the bottles to the appropriate line with water and top with the cleaning concentrate. When you finish a bottle you just refill it with water and the concentrate. It helps to reduce waste by reusing the bottles and saves you money by only needing to repurchase the concentrate. Here are the products I love:
All-Purpose Cleaning Spray
All-Purpose Bathroom Spray
Streak-Free Window + Mirror Cleaner
Hand Soap
I will add that I have tried their laundry detergent and didn’t love it and have also tried to use their concentrate for other uses such as dish washing and didn’t love that either. But for the products above it is truly exceptional and affordable – the concentrate has only halfway through and I’ve used it for 6 months!
As for all the other products we use for non-toxic cleaning, I’ve listed them below. Keep in mind, these are not all perfect. Switching to natural cleaning products is a process for me and until some of the cleaner ones become more effective I’m sticking with this middle ground. When possible we order big refill bottles and reuse the original ones.
Laundry Detergent: Baby Organics Laundry Detergent (yes I use baby detergent!)
Dishwasher Detergent: Seventh Generation Detergent or Whole Foods Natural Dishwasher Detergent
Dish Soap: Mrs. Meyer’s Dish Soap
Toilet Bowl Cleaner: Method Toilet Bowl Cleaner
Floor Cleaner: Method Floor Cleaner (with this reusable floor wipe)*
*We were able to reuse our old swiffer mop by putting velcro on the top and sides of the resusable wipe as shown below.
DIY All-Purpose Cleaner
I did want to add that it is very easy to make your own DIY All-Purpose Cleaner at home. The reason I don’t use it is because I am particular and REALLY don’t like the smell of vinegar. Yes, you can use essential oils to mask it but my nose knows everything. However if you are on a budget this is a great option for you and can easily be refilled reducing your waste.
First thing you need to know is that vinegar should be diluted with water in a 1:4 ratio. So for 1/2 cup of white vinegar you will use 2 cups of water. The skies the limit when it comes to essential oils but the most effective for cleaning are lemon, peppermint and lavender.
Here’s a recipe for DIY All-Purpose Cleaner:
1/2 cup of white vinegar*
2 cups of water
2-3 drops of lavender essential oil
2-3 drops of peppermint essential oil
Combine everything in a glass spray jar and shake. Spray on counter and wipe clean with a dish cloth.
*Note: if you are very sensitive to the smell of vinegar, I recommend infusing it with citrus peels and/or herbs for a week or two before straining to remove materials. Use infused vinegar in place of white vinegar above.

Interesting Recycling Facts That Will Make You Go Green
If you’re going to ask people to change their lifestyle and create new habits, then you better be willing back up the reasons with solid facts. If we could all go even just a little beyond the blue bin, by reducing and resusing, it could make an enormous difference on the planet’s waste. The following is a short list of astonsihing recycling facts that are sure to nudge you in the direction of going green. It can’t be stressed enough how even the smallest efforts can make a huge difference, as you’ll see with some of the examples below.
METAL:
If it takes you 45 seconds to read this recycling fact, then by the time you are done, there will have been over a quarter of a million aluminum cans produced before you were done.
If you drink a can of beer after work and then tossed it in the recycling bin, that one (aluminum) can saves enough energy to watch television for 3 hours after dinner! Of course, you’d save even more energy if you went out for a walk or read a good (used!) book after dinner.
There are over 80 billion soda cans used each year. Yes, that’s billion. Yes, that’s just soda! can you see the importance of recycling aluminum?
The good thing about recycling aluminum is that it can be recycled an unlimited amount of times, and a recycled can, even 200 years from now, can still be a can. Yes, it can!
PAPER:
If everyone read just their Sunday paper online for now on and there was no paper versions, 500,000 trees would be saved per week!
If every single newspaper was recycled after we read them, we would be able to save 25 million trees per year!
If you were to add up the amount of separate pieces of paper trash that each American throws away per year, it would be approximately 13,000 pieces of paper. A large percentage of this is packaging and junk mail.
If we were to save all the wood and paper that we toss into the trash each year, the combined amount would be enough to heat 50 million homes for up to 20 years.
If we were to lay out all the paper that American businesses generate in just one day, that paper would be enough to circle the Earth about 20 times.
PLASTIC AND STYROFOAM:
The soda cans mentioned above were a pretty high number, right? Well, just in the USA alone, over 25 million beverage bottles made of plastic are thrown away every hour!
Styrofoam coffee cups are being thrown away at an unbelievable amount of 25 billion per year. That number is the statistic for USA only.
Plastic material being dumped into the ocean is responsible for killing u to a million sea creatures yearly.
GLASS:
Using a similar example as the single aluminum can above, did you know that recycling just one glass bottle can run one of your 100 watt light bulbs for 3-4 hours.
When a glass bottle is recycled, it is considerably cutting back on the air and water pollution that happens when creating the bottle from raw materials.
If we were to wait for a glass bottle to decompose after throwing it away today, we would have to wait approximately 4000 years.
There are approximately 41 billion glass containers manufactured every year.
Like aluminum, glass can be reused an unlimted amount of times.
These recycling facts are just to give you a quick overview of the wasted materials and how much difference can be made just by recycling and trying to reduce what we use and what we throw away.
