I was gonna save these to post when we got an official date for the final RvB season but who knows when that'll be so I'll throw them here now! I've never posted much cosplay on here but seeing as how my peak RvB days were on Tumblr it feels fitting that I post these here first :)

One of the main reasons I even got into RvB in the first place was because of @euniysu's art, and I fell in love with the Guns for Hire AU the second I saw it. These designs became instant dream cosplays of mine (honestly all of them did) and it feels fitting that ten years later just as the series is ending, I finally make them. It's also a way to celebrate 10 years since I found Rooster Teeth and fell in love with RvB (and saw these designs!). I'm so so happy I finally got to do these cosplays and I absolutely can't wait to wear them again (I'm York here but I made both cosplays and I'll be wearing Wash at the ren faire this weekend! It's time traveler's weekend and I think I'm funny lol). I don't know what it is about cosplaying York but i felt so Gender as him and am so glad everything came out well :)

Also I saw that Syn is gonna adapt the GFH AU into an original webcomic and I absolutely can't wait to see it!! I still love seeing and supporting Syn's art and y'all should def keep an eye out for it too!

I've always liked Yang and thought she was the coolest (though Blake's color scheme is more my style). I had been meaning to do a Yang costume for a while and as I've gotten older, with a great deal more things that occupy my time, efforts, and especially my money, it seemed my original plan was not going to happen. Then I saw Vol 4! I've always wanted to dabble in prosthetics like this so why not challenge myself a little? I've never made foam armor before, so making her mechanical arm was an interesting endeavor.

The wig is from Epic Cosplay, the shirt and shoes are from Amazon, and the pants are from WalMart. Patches were acquired off of Etsy sellers BlueRockAngelDesigns & BrookeIsABee.

For the arm, I bought extra-long "opera" gloves off Amazon and black & yellow 1/16 of an inch foam "paper." I made several regular paper patterns for my robot pieces before being happy enough to cut them out of the foam. Then I used Elmer's white school glue to seal the foam, and after 24 hrs curing, spray painted the pieces a "Canary Yellow." I waited another 24 hrs to allow for curing and then touched up and painted black additional areas.

To attach, I used hot glue on the finger bits, black poly-cotton fabric and Velcro for the bracer, and completed the band for the upper arm with the poly-cotton, but keep it in place with more Velcro.

I hope to actually make her jacket, because if I couldn't make what I had in mind before, I might as well make something! Haha...

A Mother’s Promise

I had ordered an emblem, however it wasn’t going to arrive before RTX. As such, I made my own using left over crafting foam, gorilla glue, and non cracking armour metallic paint. The backing has yet to be added on, but I’m planning on using hair clips.

Back in the early 2010s of Tumblr, I started a second account on here to post about Achievement Hunter and Rooster Teeth. I LOVED the fanart, the gifs, all the cosplays that the fandom was making and wanted to share it constantly (and my friends were tired of me flooding their timelines). So making the second account made sense.

And then that fucking account exploded and became one of the biggest AH/RT accounts on here.

I never thought in a million years that making that blog that would change so much of my life. I got to meet so many amazing people through that account, damn near all of them being incredibly talented. I developed so many close friendships, many of them I still have to this day. I got my first professional convention experience through RTX, my first major career opportunity, just a lot of firsts in general.

Sucks that nowadays, Rooster Teeth is extremely bittersweet for me.

In the final years, there were a lot of things that happened that affected my opinions of the company and changed my thoughts. When I think of Rooster Teeth now, I don't have much of a reaction anymore. I cared more about the people working there then the company itself for the last few years to be honest.

Learning of Rooster Teeth shutting down today didn't make me sad, but it didn't make me happy either. I felt so much pain for my friends who worked there and now have to start job hunting in such a scary time. I want the best for my friends and hope things work out for them and that everyone gets a secure job quickly. I have so many mixed feelings, but one thing for sure is that I will miss the better times.

This company changed my life, and I will always appreciate that. There is a lot that I miss, but I have moved on from most of that over the nearly 2 years I've separated myself from the community. I debated about writing this but in the end I think this is a good way to say it was sure as fuck a ride. Take care everyone.

Well, I don't normally talk about these things, but it seems that, unfortunately, Rooster Teeth is shutting down(not sure if it's immediate or later on, though some stuff there seems to still be running at the moment).

Though I've only really been interested in RWBY from them lately(I did watch some of RvB, gen:lock season 1 and most of Camp Camp), it really does hurt to see it all going under and people being out of jobs.

For those that have been following me for a while, you probably know I did a RWBY cosplay with my then-girlfriend at 2 ACens(still have the hoodie we made to look like Jaune's), so possibly losing that before it properly ends hurts, too, though it seems like they are attempting to sell their shows elsewhere. Hopefully, all the old staff come back if RWBY gets picked back up(I'm sure they'd fight stay with it to the end).

Man, this decade kinda sucks.

"Should I still make RWBY content even if I don't want to support Rooster Teeth?"

For those still grapping with the question of "Should I still make RWBY content after all this Rooster Teeth drama? I don't know what to do moving forward."

I can't tell you about what to do regarding supporting RWBY officially such as watching future Volumes or buying merch - that falls onto your own moral compass as long as you are acting in the interests of RT's victims and those who truly care about RWBY. But I can offer my two cents on how to treat your own engagement with RWBY in terms of fan content. Are you indirectly supporting Rooster Teeth by making RWBY fan content?

In a perfect world where copyright laws are fair to everyone, there should be nothing stopping you from enjoying something and making cool stuff based on it. Disney made a fortune reusing, adapting or putting a spin on existing people's work like fairy tales and myths. Guess what? RWBY does it too. So I don't see a problem with doing the same with their work, if we're purely talking about ethics.

Legally, RWBY belongs to Rooster Teeth and those assholes will take it to their grave unless Warner changes that. But everyone knows RWBY has always belonged to the people who love it. Why else would Monty encourage everyone to make OCs (even giving us an easy guide to follow), or design RWBY's characters to be easy to cosplay, or have a contest for fans to design Velvet's outfit? I believe he knew it too.

No matter what happened or went down behind RT's walls, I do still genuinely, 100% believe RWBY was created with love and a genuine passion to share something cool with the world. And you should know that what you're drawing, writing or creating comes from the same place, too.

Think of it this way. You're adopting a child after finding out their deadbeat millionaire step-parent beats and starves them. You don't have to worry about being the bad guy here.

Though if you're still on the fence, just add the words "Fuck Rooster Teeth, they don't deserve RWBY" on all your RWBY fan content now. That should make your stance pretty clear.
