Why Yang is the best*
*in my admittedly biased opinion, she's my favourite character in RWBY.
Let's get the shallow reasons out of the way first:
Tumblr media
She's very pretty, including her long golden blonde mane of hair and lilac eyes. Blonde bombshell is a fitting description.
And this blonde bombshell can make other things very literally explode with her sticky grenades from Volume 7 onwards.
She's a badass in combat even without her Semblance, but with it she packs even more of a punch, and that's quite an understatement.
Tumblr media
There's also the way her Semblance makes her hair either glow like molten gold or transform into flames (Volume 6 onwards), and her eyes turn red, or later a fiery orange. Both striking.
But Yang is far more than these shallow things. She has depth.
Right from the start in her trailer, from the quote at the beginning to the things she does, it's clear that there's more to her than meets the eye. She's goes to a club, but not to party. She's there for information.
Yet I've read fics where she's written off as a dumb blonde party girl. Sure, the beauty of fanfic is writing what you want, but if Yang's that out of character is she really still Yang, and not an original character by the same name?
Yang isn't dumb. There's no mention of her being a bad student, and she's seen paying attention and poised to take notes in Volume 1.
Tumblr media
She also doesn't fight like someone who just keeps punching until her opponent falls down and can't get up again. I mean, that might be part of it, but she adapts, like she did in the trailer against the kicks of Melanie Malachite.
Tumblr media
In that trailer Yang defeats a club full of goons, two bodyguards (Melanie and Miltia) and Junior himself. All of them adults against a 17 year old who hasn't yet started at Beacon (going by what I've heard of the Roman Holiday book, Melanie and Miltia are in their early twenties in Volume 1, just like Neo).
Yang starts to adapt against Neo on the train in Volume 2, but gets knocked out before she can get far enough to actually do more than throw Neo.
Tumblr media
The Yang that gives the impression of a cheerful party girl is a mask, as can be seen when there's glimpses of her depth in Burning the Candle when she persuades Blake to slow down. And that mask really shatters in Volume 3 when bad things start to happen.
Yang goes through trauma, physically and emotionally. It changes her. But it certainly doesn't make her boring, at least not to me. She also gradually heals, enough to make jokes in Volume 5 onwards. That is a hopeful message to other people who go through bad things. Sometimes bad things just happen, but that's not the end. You keep moving forward. It may take a while to recover, and to get back to yourself, and you won't be quite the same, but you're still you.
Then there's the sisters Xiao Long-Rose. Yang is dedicated to being there for Ruby, to the extent that she raised her after Summer disappeared. Exactly how long their dad was lost to depression isn't clear, but even after he recovered he'd still be busy working. Yang would remain the combined big sister and mother for Ruby even after Tai's more capable of parenting.
Tumblr media
That isn't to say that Yang is perfect, or that she never makes mistakes, or always gets along with Ruby. She's human. They both are. To be human is to err. But they always love each other. They're family, the closest they have. Even if Yang didn't always manage to say 'I love you' back right away. Even if Ruby left her without a goodbye or even a note (the one she left at the end of Volume 3 was for Tai). They know where they stand with each other, even if it took Ruby a reassuring hug and an 'I love you' from Yang to be sure of that in Mistral.
There's Yang’s big heart. I've seen her described as the heart of team RWBY, and it's so true. Yang's intimidating when she wants to be, but she's so kind and caring, to the extent that it led to a rift of sorts with Ruby in Volume 8. Ruby was focused on the big picture, trying to get word out to all of Remnant about Salem, while Yang wanted to help save the population of Mantle before they were overrun by Grimm. Neither of them were wrong.
Yang takes hits, not just as part of her combat strategy to fuel her Semblance, but also to spare others who might not be able to take them as well as she can. Usually Ruby, but her other friends too. She draws Salem's attention away from Oscar when she threatens him, which could have gone so badly for Yang. But that's who she is. Those she loves matter more to her than her own life ever could.
And there's Yang's mothers. Her biological mother Raven, who abandoned Yang when she was a baby for reasons that still aren't clear, but likely to do with Raven being afraid of Salem. Yang's search for her almost got her and Ruby killed as young kids, and when Yang finally found her she was bitterly disappointed by who she found.
I don't hate Raven, I find her an interesting character, but she has without a doubt disappointed and hurt Yang, to the point where that was a large part of what reduced Yang to tears on claiming the Relic in Haven's vault.
Despite all that, Yang kept the fact that Raven was the Spring Maiden to herself, as far as we know. It wouldn't be the first time that a conversation about Raven took place off screen, as Jaune, Ren and Nora knew Raven was Yang's mother. Yet Yang only ever told Blake about her. And I can't see Blake gossiping about that. I figure Ruby likely told them at some point when on the long walk to Haven.
Then there's Yang's step mother, Summer, who took Raven's place so completely that Yang didn't know about Raven until after Summer disappeared. Summer, Yang's super-mom, who Yang must have tried to emulate when raising Ruby, but couldn't possibly be more than a pale shadow of. Yang was just a child, only two years older than Ruby. Summer is Yang's hero, and who she still considers as her mom, as she proclaimed to Salem.
Tumblr media
Last but certainly not least: Blake and Yang. The Bees kissing are what drew me to RWBY in the first place, and Bumbleby is my OTP. They've been through so much together, and they deserve happiness with each other.
Tumblr media
Yang was already my favourite months before the Volume 9 commentary revealed it, but it also means a lot to me that she's only just figuring out her sexuality. It took me a long time too.
This isn't every single thing I love about Yang, but it's what I could think of and get down in writing.
All of this is of course just my opinion. Maybe someone else from RWBY is your favourite. In that case I'm just glad another character can mean that much to you.

Saw yet another RWBY stan say some dumb shit and this time it was the typical “RWBY is much better than anything those filthy perverted asians in Japan make bc RWBY doesn’t sexualise women!”
First off: Fuck off with this Anti-Asian bullshit! Y’all are never going to beat the racist allegations, Japanese people aren’t white people y’know!
Second: if RWBY doesn’t sexualise women, then how come the main catgirl in the show has her cat ears fetishised 24/7, wears a catsuit that is so tight it makes the costume in the 2004 Catwoman movie look comic book accurate, and is now basically nothing but a housewife for the even more sexualised blonde girl whose voice actress compares her character’s prosthetic arm to a fucking vibrator (yikes she reeks of ableism!), who’s dressed like a “sexy” UPS driver and whose anger issues and overall personality reminds me more of every male love interest in every awful 2010s teen romance novel (Especially those shitty After movies!)
Third: I know Japan does make some pretty risqué and sometimes disgusting stuff that’s supposed to be “sexy”, but you can’t turn around and say that this show is any different than any harem anime if not worse in how they treat most of their women characters (Y’know the canon bisexual character in the show has five billion love interests right?)
They do need to understand that anime doesn’t just sexualise women all the time, the trailer for the upcoming Yakuza game is literally the male protagonist butt ass naked on the beach for the sake of comedy! (Yeah it’s mostly censored, but they show his ass for crying out loud!)
This is just reminding me of that time a wasp made a tweet saying that RWBY is better than Fullmetal Alchemist, a manga written by a Japanese woman is clearly not as progressive as the cartoon written by two white guys for most of its run/j
(Sorry this is so long!)
lol it’s okay. And yeah 100% this

The Evolution of Team RWBY
How each member of team RWBY would react when *NSYNC  or Backstreet Boys plays over the radio. Buckle up, Buttercups. This is a long one.
Volumes 1 & 2: Think RWBY Chibi roadtrip
Yang: (totally singing and dancing while driving. Not quite full sending yet, but still dancing with at least one hand on the wheel)
Blake: (reading and trying to ignore Yang’s shenanigans, but is lip syncing the words behind her book)
Weiss: (mortified) “Ugh! Seriously? Ruby, do something about your sister!”
Ruby: “Aw, c’mon, Weiss. It isn’t that ba- OH MY GOD!!! THIS IS THE BEST PART!!!” (copies Yang singing and dancing to the chorus)
Volume 3: pt. 1
Yang: same as 1&2 but purposely serenading Blake as much as possible
Blake: smiling and doing little shoulder bobs with her book in her lap
Ruby: Full send! Dancing like a maniac. Seatbelt is unbuckled and she’s shaking the car at stoplights
Weiss: rolling her eyes but smiling
Volume 3 pt. 2 & 4:
Radio silence
Volume 5: post Weiss and Yang finding each other.
Weiss: (on Bumblebee - notices the song first and smiles before pretending to be mortified) “Oh, no! Not this song! Whatever will I do?”
Yang: (finally listens and beams) “You can join in some of the fun!” (drives bumblebee in a way that makes it look like the motorcycle is dancing)
Blake: (hears song over Sun’s scroll as he plays it for Kali, and smiles)
Volume 6: While the party is being pulled on a trailer behind bumblebee
Yang: (plugs scroll into bumblebee audio slot) “Alright! Time to shake off that apathy!” (sings and bobs while driving)
Ruby: “Yes!” (stands up in the trailer and dances like a goon)
Maria: “Would you sit down before you throw us all overboard?”
Blake & Weiss: (roll eyes before laughing and doing a synchronized shoulder shake left and right)
Oscar: (clinging to the trailer for dear life as it bounces) “Are they always like this?”
Volume 7: Fun Atlas Montage
Ruby: Full Send! Jumping up on bunks and dancing like an idiot and singing horribly off-key.
Weiss: Actually dancing along to the music.
Blake: Trying to dance but is only solidifying that she has no rhythm.
Yang: Full dance machine and singing along with the choreography.
Volume 8:
Radio Silence
Volume 9:
Blake: (plays song on scroll to lighten the mood and pulls Yang to her feet) “Still have a dance for me?
Yang: (gay disaster extraordinaire) “Always!”
Weiss: (rolls eyes fondly) “Brothers, you two definitely went from one end of the spectrum to the other, didn’t you? (joins in the dance party after grabbing Rusted Knight Jaune)
Ruby: (sulking in the corner)
Volume 10: Please Greenlight
Bonus!
After The War: Everyone is back in the car. Yang is driving. Blake is shotgun. Weiss and Ruby are in the back.
Yang: Completely losing her mind as she sings and dances in the driver’s seat. Hands aren’t even on the wheel consistently. Serenading Blake at every chance while holding imaginary microphones to Weiss and Ruby in the back.
Blake: Seatbelt? What seatbelt? Girl actually found some rhythm and is doing full body rolls in her seat while singing and winking back at Yang
Weiss: Singing a perfect harmony to the song while dancing. Her window is rolled down and her arm is waving out in the air like she absolutely does not care.
Ruby: Standing on the backseat so she can stand in the open sunroof and hit that choreographic combo 100%. She still can’t carry a tune in a bucket, but she’s doing her best.
Team ORNJ parked next to them at the red light doing the exact thing with Nora in the sunroof, Jaune driving, Ren sitting shotgun calmly, and Oscar flopping around like a chicken having a stroke in an attempt to dance.

My stupid theory RWBY Vol 9
This is a little theory I have for RWBY Vol 9. While the girls are dealing with their own challenges that they had to overcome to find each other. Jaune met the civilians that fell into the void when Cinder and Neo appeared. (I don't know if you guys remember that)
There's a part in the trailer where Jaune is believed to be riding a giant Rabbit, or something. This is not 100% true, but this is my theory.
After what happened on the magical bridge, or whatever it's called, Jaune ran into other survivors who fell. Of course because he was the person who guides the civilians to the portal (he was the first to test it and show it is safe to use). I wouldn't be surprised if people trust him to protect them and maybe get them out of there.
Jaune knowing this, he feels that he has to take responsibility. And with this I return to the scene of "He" riding the 'Rabbit'. I say that they are in a town created by the survivors and RWBY arrived just when something or someone is attacking said town or someone set off the alarm when they saw the girls So Jaune appears with his new look, or not.
And with this I go to my other theory, the Jaune's new look. Maybe he made a deal with the lady that appears in the forge. Maybe she is magical and gave him an enchanted helmet so that he can be the protector of the people. That's my first theory and I don't think it's the closest to what's really going to happen. But it's a maybe.
Second theory, they find Jaune, he is fine, but while they continue this journey in this Volume. They will reach a part where each one will have to deal with their own regrets. In Jaune's case, not being strong enough to protect his friends from him. So maybe the woman or something/someone else offers him power in exchange for something. That's where the helmet comes from, RWBY fights him, he gets his helmet removed somehow, and he goes back to his old self.
My third, Jaune is being controlled by the lady or something/someone, and he is used to chase RWBY on his journey. Attacking them all the time, but RWBY knowing it's Jaune, they just incapacitate him. Also that the helmet is a form of torture. He may hear voices from his friends telling him how useless he is or perhaps comments from his family saying that he will never be someone like his father an grandfather. Maybe both things happen, or something different that will hurt him deeply.
Whatever happens, I believe everyone will survive. Our four heroes (Team RWBY and Jaune) together with the civilians who fell, will return to the real world safe and sound, and the first thing we are going to see is Jaune's Family waiting for them, and a lot mix emotions. Ok maybe not, but at some point it has to happen. Jaune cannot just say that he has 7 sisters and we have never seen them. Something that worries me is that while they are inside this other "world", time passes faster in the real world. That would be shocking. What do you guys think about what's going to happen?

Dear RWBY Shipping Fandom
Tumblr media
Alright. Before we get started this is an OPINION. Please refrain from saying this is biased for my love of Whiterose (okay maybe it is a little bit). Also, if you do have any complaints, please refrain from cursing in them. Moving on, I would like to explain how I feel about Ice Queendom as a whole, and Whiterose itself.
Clearly, this was a throw to the whole “Snow White” aspect of things. It was obvious the moment we heard of the nightmare Grimm possessing Weiss. I would just like to point out: Jaune was a plot device.
But who went in, risked their lives, not one, not two, but three times to save Weiss? When not even the rest of her team did?
Ruby did.
Jaune went in the third time and the only thing of value he did was try and keep Ruby alive (while she was trying to rescue Weiss, mind you) and get stuck in a snow bank.
Tumblr media
Next is canon. Clearly, Whiterose holds a bit less ground here, but it still has foundation. Even in Vol. 1! Now I’m not saying I agree with the people who shipped them since trailer’s release, but even I have to notice they’re some chemistry.
let’s start with the Jaune vs Ruby situation in the emerald forest sections. Weiss could clearly see Jaune was stuck to the tree with Pyrrha’s spear and waited to be her partner, but she chose Ruby.
At the dance, Weiss mimicked the fandom after Vol. 9 trying to fix a drooping white rose.
And Vol. 6 and 7? I can’t fit it all. Even Arrowfell had its small moments.
Bumblebee, of course, is something I don’t particularly care about. Before you scream at me that I’m homophobic (which I’m clearly not, plus my BFFE is a lesbian and I’m proud of her) I’m just saying I wouldn’t see them without it being canon is all. If it was or wasn’t, I don’t care.
And to all those WK and RG shippers who still think WK is close to being canon and that the VA’s don’t ship it [WR] so it won’t be, I would like to quote my least favorite musical artist Olivia Rodrigo:
GOOD FOR YOUUUUU

You know something that just occurred to me about the new trailer? There’s very little combat in it.
We are shown a couple of ‘fake out’ moments. Meaning, Blake is reaching for her weapon, but we know the end result of that encounter is her and Weiss getting captured by the vines, not successfully enacting a cool plan to escape. Yang has her arm stolen, but she just takes a comedy swipe at the guard playing tug-of-war with her. Ruby is playing this game with the Queen that will presumably require her teammates to battle the other pieces, but I suspect that the rules of the game will severely limit the choreography and indeed, we see two pieces clashing via their own, wooden weapons.
The closest we get to seeing a normal RWBY fight is Yang punching the back of this creature’s skull:
Tumblr media
And isn’t that a little weird? Sure, they could just be keeping all the Real Fights a surprise, but my point here is that RWBY is built on its combat. That’s all the story was at first: a vehicle for cool abilities and even cooler choreography. Even beyond the butt jokes and mice armies, this trailer felt off to me in a way I couldn’t articulate last night, but now I think it’s that lack of combat; the heart of RWBY. Compare this trailer to Volume 8 with Nora powering up her weapon, the group facing off against the Ace Ops, grimm cornering them in the desolate streets, the bike chase to get Oscar back, Penny powering up as a Maiden. Or even Volume 5, the We Sat in A House Until the Finale Volume, that still shows Blake hunting down White Fang members, Yang facing off against the bar goon (complete with red eyes), shots of Weiss with her fire dust, Raven looming over her captive, the group running in a panic, Sun dodging a bullet, Lionheart getting choked by Salem’s grimm, Weiss’ knight. Even in the Volumes where these moments were fleeting or misleading (the group is just running towards Lionheart’s office) the trailer kept things action focused.
Meanwhile, Volume 9′s trailer is... not really combat. Or even external conflict. It’s talking, an auction, walking, a (deadly) game, more talking, a cat, running with the cat, floating lily pads, mushrooms, Ruby on her knees, a pile of leaves, an owl, a knight looking out at something, more talking, Ruby fainting---the exact opposite of an action sequence. And though a part of me is going, “Yes! After a Volume like 8′s they need some downtime to hash all this out!” the trailer simultaneously isn’t reassuring me that the writers have used this downtime well. Instead, it feels like the Volume is more concerned with a) pretty backgrounds, b) background characters, c) comedy, and d) philosophical questions the story isn’t equipped to answer than it is in-depth character development or the action sequences RWBY is known for. As some previous Volumes have shown us, when the writing is lackluster RWBY gets by on its awesome fights. So this Volume is in trouble if there’s little ‘real’ action and the story is struggling to write a compelling ‘We walked through a cool looking fantasy land while discussing our hardships and occasionally engaging in a silly gag’ setup. I’m thinking about Crescent Rose lying alone in the sand and Jaune’s broken sword. I was already disappointed that Blake’s weapon was fixed off screen in Volume 7, but will these new losses even matter if the Volume is primarily non-combat filler?
Of course, here’s the always needed disclaimer that yeah, the Volume itself might be VERY different from how the trailer presents it. Plus, it’s not like I expect there to be no major battles. But it’s nevertheless weird to me that RWBY, of ALL shows, has given us a promotion that doesn’t seem very interested in combat.

Light spoilers I guess for volume 9 under the cut:
Since the subject of slowburns has been brought up, I want to give proper credit to probably the longest running one: Ruby’s break. Like BB and Renora are ofc up there too since happening from like v1; but Ruby’s break has been going from arguably the Red trailer since I’d count her visiting Summer’s grave as part of it. I find it funny seeing ones thinking it’s only started happening in v9 or even 8 (no shade just I find it amusing, like ones saying their favs are Penny and/or Pyrrha going into v3 and you know what’s coming vein amusing); it’s like nah take a look back at like v2 for some cracks forming and 3 for sure broke those open with 4-7 adding even more in subtler aspects. No particular order cause I’m listing them as I think of them:
Holding Penny’s secret
Being the one that confronted Cinder (though she didn’t know her identity at the time cause masked)
Everything that went down with Yang, because of the setup against her and seeing her affected by it
Penny’s death followed by Pyrrha’s later
Beacon’s fall
Yang’s depression
Her team being broken apart
Seeing Jaune and the rest of JN_R’s depression over Pyrrha
Dealing with her pain over the loss Pyrrha and Penny’s
Finding the dying huntsman
Seeing Ren having to deal with “Nuckles”
Betrayal by a headmaster
Coming face to face with Raven her mom’s teammate
Coming face to face with Cinder again
Seeing Jaune throw himself at Cinder in a self-sacrificial way
Qrow’s alcoholism
Being hit with the effects of the Apathy
Being forced to clash against Atlas authorities in Mistral
Having to think about all those she loves and wants to protect to power her Silver Eyes, but slipping into “depression alley” till finally being able to stick to the good (which actually probably serves as one of the nudges about her mental state and burden)
Finding out the truth of the world and just how big of a weight is on her shoulders. Like going from carrying a baseball to actually it being a skyscraper
And I’m sure I missed some or plenty cause I was going more for a rough idea. Regardless once again RWBY loves it’s slowburns and putting in small details/seeds that pay off later. v9 like with BB has just made things like Ruby’s break more blatant.

So here is my silly little prediction regarding Ruby storyline for Volume 9.
Tumblr media
To say that Ruby has had it rough would be an understatement. The past two volumes really pushed her. Those coming after Volume 6, the volume that really cemented her strength and hope, are not a coincidence. We’ve been waiting for the ‘Ruby breakdown volume’ for a LONG time now. I’ve been waiting since Volume 4 for it. And going off the first chapter, the trailer, and the opening I think I have a good idea of what to expect.
We know that RWBY is in Remnant’s version of Alice in Wonderland, which was referenced in Volume 8. As in they are in the actual story somehow. It might be why it looks like Blake's going to be taking the lead. While all four probably know the story, Ruby and Blake are probably the most familiar considering their love of books but with Ruby out of it, Blake's the one who knows what direction they should go. It also shows how for the most part she, Weiss, and Yang are in better mental states. They certainly have things to address, but they've already confronted and bested their pain and gone through their breaking points. Whatever they have to face they can do so.
Tumblr media
Ruby though? She hasn't. She's come close to breaking, but she always managed to just pull herself back. That was her greatest strength. That's why she was the only one on her team who kept going after the Fall of Beacon. It's why she didn't fall into The Apathy like the others in Volume 6. It's why she inspired everyone around her since the start. Even Oz noted it in Volume 5. But Volume 7 and especially Volume 8 have broken her down. Atlas has fallen. The Relics are lost. No help came when she was so sure that her message would work. And worst of all Penny, someone that Ruby cares for so much and went so far to help, has died. That hope and optimism ultimately failed her. She is NOT okay. She's going to try and press on, but she can't this time. She can't push back her emotions, especially in a world where her emotions affect the environment around her. She doesn't want to address her issues and emotions, wanting to just smile and bear it. But that's not going to work this time.
Going off all that we've seen, the Ever After will NOT let you leave unless you confront your issues. The first line is literally an excerpt about a girl 'with a lot of issues'. As I said WBY has dealt with most of theirs and whatever remains they can and will face. But Ruby has spent so much time internalizing it in favor of focusing on what's before her. In a world where she HAS to confront it in order to leave? Nope. She can't do it. She doesn't want to do it. So then what happens if she can't? Well going off certain context clues in the trailer and opening...
Some others have also pointed this out but I think the longer you remain the Ever After and refuse to face your demons, the more you become assimilated into it. In the trailer, we have someone telling Ruby how she can leave Ruby Rose behind and asking what'll happen if she doesn't. We have the girls having to follow the fairy tale and the figure of the Alice character (Alyx apparently is her name?) in the opening. We have lines in the opening like "What I'd give in exchange/To be happy without trying" and "I've gotta let go but could I lose my mind?".
Tumblr media
We also possibly have Jaune in some kind of knight get-up. If it is in fact Jaune it may very well mean that he's already assimilated or is going to due to what he had to do and not having any support like Ruby at least does. He left Jaune Arc behind and become The White Knight. Maybe some of the other characters like the Jabberwalker ended up the same way. It's probably gonna be a pretty nasty reveal for RWBY and what's in store if they don't get out. What will happen if Ruby leaves Ruby Rose behind? Will she become Alyx? The Red Queen maybe? Something else? Who knows? But simply put she will succumb and never be able to leave.
Tumblr media
This is probably where the scene with her talking to her younger self comes in. It's either going to be a bad thing that pushes her even more into despair. Or it's the reminder that she is going to need. Of all that she believed in. Of her belief in those fairy tales and in helping people. Of the hope and determination that she's always carried with her that has pushed her so far. She needs to break, but then she needs the reminder of who she is. Yes, she failed. Yes, she may fail again. Yes, she's lost so much and gone through so much and that's not going to just stop. But she can't keep masking it. She has to accept that it hurt and let it out. Then she needs to pick herself up and go forward. Only then will she be able to reclaim Crescent Rose and likely pull Jaune back if this is gonna go like I think it will. She'll be able to re-ignite his hope just as she has done for her team. Thus they'll all be permitted to leave (IDK about Neo, maybe she'll finally find out what actually happened with Roman, we'll see) But first Ruby has to reignite it within herself, by far her greatest challenge yet.
...or I could be thinking WAY too much about this. Like I said I've been waiting for this for so long and it's finally happening.

I am pretty much convinced that Episode 6 will have the Bumbleby kiss. That doesn’t mean I expect it to happen and will be angry if it doesn’t. We only know the episodes that aired whereas CRWBY knows all of Volume 9. They know better than us where the kiss makes the most sense. But I have seen a lot of hints that make me think Episode 6 will be the one:
Yssa after being asked what her favorite episode is mentions Episode 7, after being told by Kerry not to mention “that one”. I am convinced “that one” means the one with the Bumbleby kiss. So Episode 7 most likely is not the Bumbleby episode. Which makes sense because other people from CRWBY have been talking about Episode 7 like it is the one with a lot of heartbreak. And I don’t think they would feature the kiss in such an episode.
I am pretty sure that both the Bumbleby kiss and the heartbreak (most likely Ruby’s “fall”) will happen in the cloud realm. The opening shows Ruby falling off the bridge and the trailer shots suggest both Blake and Yang are about to have a big moment. So from a pacing standpoint it makes sense to have the emotional high (aka Bumbleby kiss) first and the emotional low (aka Ruby’s fall) last.
The way the opening forshadowed the episodes is pretty clear. Team RWBY has been following Alyx’ footsteps for the first 4 episodes. Episode 5 is represented by the shot of Jaune in front of all the clocks. By that logic the next thing to happen is them entering the cloud realm.
Another reason why I think the big Bumbleby moment won’t happen after Episode 7 is that Arryn Zech and Barbara Dunkelman have recorded a special Always Open episode. It is very likely it will be released after Episode 7 aired.
The cloud realm has a pretty big part in the opening. For me it means that we will spend multiple episodes there. Episode 6 will probably begin with Jaune recounting his time in the Ever After. I personally don’t see a big need for a long flashback like last Volumes “Midnight” did for Cinder. I don’t think a flashback could show what Jaune went through more effectively than his appearance and his voice already has. How much time he spends in the Ever After will be reflected in his knowledge he has. He will likely take over the Cat’s place as their guide. So after they have catch up they will likely want to go to the next acre, which will lead up to the bridge and the cloud realm. The rest of this episode and most of Episode 7 will likely be spend here. And for the reasons I already mentioned, the rest of Episode 6 will likely focus on Blake and Yang.
I personally don’t think there needs to be much more set up for the kiss. Volume 6-8 did a pretty good job to establish their feelings for each other. I am pretty sure there will be a big talk between the two but I don’t think that talk will take place as a separate scene before the kiss. Either the talk will be part of the cloud bridge scene or they will talk after they kissed.
All of that is mostly conjecture. And I was wrong in the past about how the kiss will happen. But due to all the hints and reasons I mentioned above I am pretty sure the kiss will happen in Episode 6. Even though I am so sure, I will still try to keep my expectations low for next week. I have been enjoying Volume 9 very much. I trust in CRWBY and am confident that the kiss will happen when it makes most sense.

Fanfic Writing Questions
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
Looks like 17, incidentally my lucky number!
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
204,980 so far!
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Right now, Arknights. If Ex Astris gets any more content though I'll probably lunge for it again. I'm also always open to writing Vocaloid stuff even though I'm a little embarrassed looking back at some of my earlier works. I don't write for RWBY or Danganronpa anymore. I've been kinda hurt by people in those fandoms and I'm baby (or was baby) so it kinda killed my heart for it.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? 1. From Hell to the Moon - 953 kudos My gigantic Touko/Komaru fic from back when Ultra Despair Girls had me in an absolute chokehold. I still love them but I kinda fell off from updating because I got a lot of comments like 'ughh i'm so sad this will never get updated' and the pressure got to me. 2. Between the Li[n]es - 425 kudos Another one I left on a massive cliffhanger for Danganronpa V3, my Miu/Kokichi/K1-B0 fic. I appreciate the support it received so much. I do enjoy writing robot sex. I fell off of updating because I made a friend in the fandom that kinned Kokichi pretty hard and seemed to feel like he was a much 'softer boi' than the way I wrote him and implied that my Kokichi was OOC and even though I didn't really believe it...well, you become your actions, so, by kind of, tolerating their interpretation it kind of neutered my own. We haven't talked in years. Sometimes I think about writing a quickie update chapter but I'm too into my other writing. As one comment put it: "came to nut, stayed for the feels", so I felt pretty damn good about the naughty scenes in this one. One of the more vulgar things I've published.
3. Other Side - 288 kudos My first fic for the RWBY fandom! I wrote it right after the Weiss trailer came out and we knew nothing, so a lot of the story is nothing like how the characters act now. I look back on it pretty fondly because it got me out of a pretty bad writing rut, but it's kinda bittersweet because I've moved on from RWBY. Still a sucker for Ruby/Weiss and I was overjoyed when Ice Queendom came out and gave them some spotlight. 4. Amor fati - 188 kudos My beloved golden child chenmiya fic. It makes me so happy to see this one climbing high into the list even though it's the most recent. A lot of tender love and care went into writing this and reading this is the key to my heart. Nothing excites me more than comments on this or any of my other chenmiya fics. It's basically my love letter to the ship. 5. Secondhand Smoke - 177 kudos One of my early entries into the ~problematic yuri~ genre from when Cinder/Ruby from RWBY had me by the throat. I got a lot of much-appreciated appreciation for writing these two and I remember this being the year that a bunch of my artist friends drew me Cinder/Ruby for my birthday! I'd never had anything like that happen before and I felt so loved.
5. Do you respond to comments? Sometimes! If you leave a lengthy comment I try to at least pop in and cry about how much it means to me haha.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Sour Grapes, easily. But is anyone surprised?
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Definitely dodecatheon meadia. If ever I've written something I can consider to have a true fairytale ending, this is the one. This one really healed my heart too! I felt like I had a real fire under me while writing it and these girls have deeply affected me. I don't want to say too too much about it since some people are very likely still finishing the game. But it's also a new feeling to be the first fic in a tag!
8. Do you get hate on fics? Thankfully not really.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Yeah, I sure do, almost exclusively-but I tend to have myself in this hostage situation of, "please make a 50k-100k epic to perfectly justify the characters having sex" that I occasionally escape containment from. I've gotten a little better at just laying the foundations quickly and getting to what I like to write, but it can still be a struggle because I get a little perfectionist with it. Which is funny because to me the 'perfect' smut doesn't exist, and it's made 'perfect' through the imperfections. I think the little bumps and hiccups and misunderstandings along the way are a lot more compelling to me than having everything go without a hitch, but there's definitely exceptions and different circumstances! Like when that's a big part of the story-like a character really really in control for another character's safety. When I write robot sex or medfet there tends to be a bit more detail about the safety side of things because I like to take the reader through the experience of safety too. I never turn right to the camera and go 'and now the safe way to do it is x' but I rely on the characters to express their expertise to each other, and their reassurance, and for the trust of the other character to speak for itself. haha, i rambled.
this is why for the lin/chen/amiya bondage i'm working on writing that i have a notebook with several pages of questions that lin goes through before tying people up. things like 'if you start to cry, does that mean you need to stop, or is that just what you need?'
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Not really, the only one I've kind of written was the Ex Astris/Arknights one in dodecatheon meadia, based lightly off the fact that the games did a collab and I wanted to acknowledge them with the outfits of those girls from another world that they didn't quite get to know.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Oh, just once. But it was SO long ago and the person was pretty young I think and they were ashamed and took it down right away, so live and let live.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Some kind folks translated Sour Grapes into Chinese! I asked them for a link to where it ended up but I don't think they totally understood what I was asking. I was flattered nonetheless.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? No, I haven't. I do a lot of rping though still, though less publicly than I used to. I think if I co-wrote anything and published it it would have to be with @lanymme because she's my most trusted peer! When we talk about writing things and whenever she gives me feedback, she is so kind and spirited about it in a way that pushes me to do my best. Her encouragement is truly so earnest and even though I can be a little protective of my writing she has a really nice way about her of discussing how to make it stronger without making me ever feel like I'm not 'enough' as an author. I can't overstate how much I value her companionship; as an editor and a good friend and just lovely person overall. And when she leaves huge comments on my fics spotting all the little painstaking details I put in and mentioning them-what better satisfaction can there be as a writer? I always intend to do the same back but I am always just so floored and wiped out by the quality of her writing that I atomize before I can form cohesive thoughts. It just makes it all the more impressive that she can put together a fucking. bibliography of the story's moments and her reactions. So lanymme I hope you know how much I adore your style. /)///(\
14. What's your all time favorite ship? Chenmiya. I sort of felt inklings of it all throughout the beginning of the story and then chapters 7 and 8 sealed my coffin shut. Amiya sort of represents, I think, the idealism that Ch'en had wanted to believe in growing up. The world was really cruel and Ch'en adapted in her own ways, but she...rejects Amiya a bit because I feel like in her heart she can't let herself get too attached. She knows-or thinks she knows-that Amiya will lose hope and she'll feel that heartbreak all over. But slowly, her optimism and continued efforts to just...keep going, in a world that is cold, a world that shows her cruelty-it reaches Ch'en. And even though Ch'en puts up her front at first, Amiya's ultra-high empathy helps her understand who Ch'en really is, and she has the maturity to not begrudge her for the way she's processed things up to the events of chapter 7 and 8. As she puts it, "I saw the color of her heart", when talking about how Ch'en interacted with the kids in the slums that didn't have anyone else. And then she launches a rescue for Ch'en, and ends up so linked up with her memories and emotions that she just like. Becomes the other half of her soul in that fight. Amiya arrives with her optimism and hopes on the sheer chance that Ch'en is still alive and still needs her help and goes up the tower alone to find her and she does even against all odds. She talks about how she wants to cry when she sees her. In Ch'en's hour of need, Amiya arrives carrying the hopes of what she wanted to be herself, and they fight a battle where they are alone, saving each other, promising each other that they can do it, and they come out alive.
There are so, so so many more details about them. Ch'en's wishes for Amiya to call her by first name in a closer way, the way that Amiya shyly, obstinately continues to add some form of honorific for her. The way Ch'en inherited her abusive father's rhetoric and echoed his lines to Amiya to try to get her to distance herself from her in the beginning, only to apologize at the top of the tower and tell her she wishes she'd met her earlier.
But the main thing I always think about, at the top of the tower, is where black-snake-controlled Talulah puts Amiya in a prison of fire specifically to goad Ch'en. She wraps her in flames and says "I wonder how her melting flesh will smell"/something akin to that and Ch'en loses her mind and yells as her to "don't touch her!" and says "I'm the one you want, let her go!" etc., you know, all the good shit. So my interpretation of the scene is this: since the black snake can't make Talulah do something she doesn't actually want to do, I've always felt that the feelings behind that scene were of Talulah wanting someone close to her to really, truly understand how it feels to lose someone you love, and she saw Amiya to Ch'en as being someone analogous to what Alina was to herself. I think even if you read Ch'en's feelings for Amiya as non-romantic, Amiya was still so so dearly important to her to make her react that way, and that the black snake being cruel enough to try to leverage their relationship to, ultimately, kill Ch'en, who was Talulah's last tether to not losing control of herself fully-was so outrageously heinous. Ch'en could have killed herself trying to get Amiya out, which would have been what the black snake wanted most of all, since it couldn't quite urge Talulah to kill Ch'en directly, and it would have done so by preying on both Talulah's love/sorrow for Alina and Ch'en's love for Amiya.
scrolling up and seeing the wall of text i wrote and. yeah. there's still so much more.
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? Between the Li[e]s. Danganronpa fandom just hurts too much.
16. What are your writing strengths? Aside from dialogue, I think my other big strength is that I'm not afraid to write what I want even if and especially if it's fucked up. I also feel like another strength of mine is that the characters will take over for me, and get me to write them truly as they are without letting me change them. Even if that results in me writing things I'm very embarrassed and shy about writing.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? I lack discipline. I need to get myself consistently writing more, but it's hard for me to make time to do it.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I don't tend to do more than a few phrases, and only then if it's a character's native language and I want them to call someone a cute nickname or something.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Princess Tutu. I was 13. it was the 4th of July. I was supposed to be in bed asleep. But I was using the string lights illumination to light up my journal and it was then for the very first time I felt the feeling of realizing that I could make anything happen that I wanted.
It was not very good at all! But I treasure the memories of having boundless energy to write with because I was just so excited to see something become real from something that had only till then been inside of me.
20. Favorite fic you've written?
dodecatheon meadia. maybe it's surprising because it's not one of my headliner chenmiya fics, but-it's a secret chenmiya fic if you squint!
and honestly even though the story of ex astris is a little patchy at times, by the end you feel just...gripped by the world building and by yan and vi in particular. so i remember writing for them, desperate to see the happiest ending i could make, weaving it in with the canon with as many of my favorite details as possible, and it felt so good. i wrote pretty much nonstop for a week straight and finished it. the feeling of just-DYING to write was burning under my skin after finishing the game and the satisfaction of finishing the fic was magical, even if it came with the usual...idk, 'fanfic post-partum' of sending your writing out into the world when it's all done.
tagging: @lanymme, @annierosaart, and anyone else who wants to do it!

what's the directors cut of rwby episodes I should watch if I watched up to vol4
uuuuuuuhhhh oh damn
Watch the Weiss, Blake, and Yang trailers, then volume 5. You can skip episodes 5 and 9 and just read the wiki summary if you really want to bc those are both set up. 5 does have a good Ruby moment tho so skip at your own risk.
There's the Adam short before volume 6. Not really required unless you want to see more Sienna and Ilia. Watch all of volume 6 because it's peak.
Volumes 7 and 8 are best watched in tandem so if you plan to binge I'd look at them like one big volume. As the internet's biggest Ruby stan I am obligated to request your reactions to both ep 11 of vol 7 and ep 8 of vol 8.
Don't forget the after credits scenes and have fun! I am always willing to answer RWBY related questions for my good friend

So is it just me or does this look like the level select screen for an early PSX platformer?
No but seriously, this looks like a shot from the opening showing off the entire Ever After and our protagonists gazing down on it
Like I highly doubt that the lands of Ever After are gonna be so clumped together like that or that team RWBY is gonna get together until way late into the season
BUT FUCK IT LET'S LOOK OVER THIS PLACE
so Candy Land on the left, looks like probably where Neo is gonna be if only because of the ice cream thing (1)
Behind it there is GIANT JAGGED GREEN MOUNTAINS WRAPPED IN CHAINS! which like definitely an ominous look and I hope we get to explore the place. (2)
and then...skyscrapers? like modern ass buildings way off in the back? well that's something (3)
then snowy mountains off to the right of that and I think we see Yang there in one of the teaser scenes (4)
then the obligatory fire level, with volcanos and shit... maybe where that suit of armor that looks like Jaune's is (5)
oh and the giant floating islands in the back, like suck it Atlas we don't need relics for our shit (6)
right under those looks like a swamp of purple goop and...weird ruins?...bones? don't know, but it's EXTREMELY my aesthetic (7)
then uh? boxes? paper? I have no fucking clue what that is honestly, but I can't wait to find out (8)
and then the forest straight in the middle where we saw Ruby in the trailer talking to the Cheshire cat (9)
so uh 9 distinct regions with their own themes and aesthetics all organized around a giant tree at the center... gee I wonder that that could possibly be based off of

https://www.reddit.com/r/RWBYcritics/comments/yx3pj2/what_if_the_white_fang_had_been_written_as_the/
What if the White Fang had been written as the good guys?
It’d be far more generic and worse for the show?
I’ve been sort of entertaining this idea for a while now. Knowing all the unfortunate baggage and mishandling involved with the White Fang, why not just. Make them the good guys?
Because the actions that drove the White Fang to villainy, the abuse and violence of others, is what also drove Cinder and Salem to violence? And that making the WF good guys but condemning Cinder and Salem is a glaring example of that Protagonist Centered Morality that you ‘critics’ say you hate oh so much?
Say an official rewrite or reboot of RWBY exists in the future - if those two words rub you the wrong way then whatever, basically a clean slate or re-adaptation of RWBY - the fact stands that the White Fang need a heavy revision.
Why? Because a bunch of people who are either being contrarian or want to feel validated keep making catty remarks while making themself look ignorant?
Because that’s about 90% of White Fang criticism. ‘You didn’t do exactly what I wanted so I will misrepresent everything you say out of spite’ and ‘I want to feel like my bloodlust is morally justified.’
People are smart enough at this point to know that you shouldn’t be villainising the oppressed group trying to fight back against a world that is actively pushing them out - if anything the SDC should be more of a antagonistic faction, kind of like the Shinra corporation from Final Fantasy 7 which RWBY is clearly heavily based on, what with Dust and Materia and all that. But that still leaves you with the White Fang and Blake’s arc to write.
Isn’t it a huge compliant that RWBY ‘rips off’ other media? So making it more like something everyone says RWBY rips off just going to make things worse? Also, just because the trope was done a certain way you like doesn’t mean every single execution of the trope needs to be that way.
At any point- You kind of run into a small problem here. And that’s that the WF were committing acts of terror, even in your rewrite. Like, this is not up for debate. It doesn’t matter how terrible of a life you lead or how abused your people are- you do not get to use fear and violence to control people. That causes far bigger issues in
This has been a large headache point for anyone trying to figure out how to revise RWBY’s more fundamental writing flaws, because the WF are such a prominent antagonist faction throughout the Beacon arc and they were such a problem that CRWBY had no choice but to sweep them under the rug entirely after Adam’s death. But hear me out here. Do we really need to latch onto that idea so hard? That the White Fang need to be villains?
Hear that, future writers? If you resolve an arc or plot point, you have to constantly bring it up again and again and again and again and again and again or else it’s ‘sweeping it under the rug!’
And again, you can’t really excuse the White Fang without excusing Cinder and Salem. They were also abused and treated poorly, almost like objects with their human rights violated. But the thing about RWBY is that it’s a story with themes of heroism and sticking to your principles. With each time a character rejecting said principles being punished (yes, even Team RWBY).
Like, imagine a RWBY where the White Fang are shown as terrorists on TV and in newspapers throughout Vale, but when you actually meet them, they’re a ragtag band of freedom fighters. They’re like Avalanche from FF7; the freedom fighters from Sonic SatAM; you start to realise that they’re the good guys. They’re the embodiment of Chaotic Good or at worst, Chaotic Neutral.
You know, good guys who blow up train cars full of innocent employees without remorse or regret!
You can’t really escape this- From all the way back to the Black Trailer, the WF were bad guys. It is built into RWBY’s foundation and you cannot remove that without rewriting the basics of RWBY. And that point, what makes you any different than The Last Airbender movie?
Putting aside Adam, Ilia and others simply because they’re all supplemental to Blake’s arc, where does Miss Belladonna herself fit into this?
If we want to keep her backstory as a person atoning for a dark past, then the WF would be more grey in response, but still not outright evil. Revolution is not without sacrifice, and when you’re fighting for drastic societal change, conflict is inevitable. While they may fight for a good cause, not everyone has the will or strength to fight, to endure the monumental societal backlash and opposition. Perhaps Blake was one of those people - jaded and burnt out by the never-ending struggle to be heard, losing hope that change would ever be possible - so she runs away in hopes of finding herself, only to be scooped up into Beacon instead.
Because as we all know- Revolution has never caused any problems or made anything worse.
... Hey, Sytokun. Ever heard of the French Revolution? Even if you haven’t, you’ve felt it’s effects. It promoted things like the abolishment of slavery, equal rights and human rights. It was the foundation for many civil rights movements because of the ideals and philosophies the french philosophers at the time preached. And it can be considered the sister revolution of the American Revolution.
It can also be seen as the failed version of the American Revolution. Because as it turned out, the rebels at the time weren’t squeaky clean. The famous saying ‘let them eat cake’ was attributed to Marie Anttonete who was a royal at the time. However, as it turns out, it was actually closer to propaganda against the royal family to stir the people into acting. And no, that’s not the only indication of its failure.
See, the peroid after the Revolution was called the ‘Reign of Terror’ for good reason. Former rebels became leaders and, upon attaining power, started purging anyone and everyone who disagreed with them. One of the most famous being Maximillien Robespierre, a leader of the Revolution who was obviously far too radical to be trusted but was elected anyway in part due to his intense fanaticism, A fanaticism that morphed him into a narcissistic tyrant who tried to make a cult around himself, progressing from killing innocent nobles to other rebels who opposed him to the people he claimed to have cared about.
Luckily, the Reign only lasted about 10 years. Unforunately, what came after was the tyrannical rule of Napoleon. And by Napoleon’s end, the French royalty came back into power and was seated on the throne once again, only to have its power undercut by a more peaceful group of politicians limiting its power as time went on. So basically- the French Revolution was about unseating the royal family. It ended up setting the stage for two consecutive tyrants and ended with the royal family coming back. With its goals accomplished far more peacefully in the future, with nothing to show for the French but a pile of dead bodies.
And honestly, nothing embodies the failure of this revolution than its symbol- the guillotine. You know, the guillotine. The symbol of bloody, frenzied and righteous vengence against anyone the person deems is corrupt and above them. An object used as shorthand for gleeful bloodlust. What you might not know is that this object was made to be an equal and merciful method of execution. Its inventors made it specifically so that human error and bias could be excluded from the act of execution and was promoted as a way to embody the French Revolution’s ideals of equality, that both the poor and rich die equally and mercifully. Then it was used as symbol of fear and oppression, corrupting its intended purpose due to the flaws of the rebels who became tyrants.
So why did I bring you through this long tangent? Because if you were observant, you would notice similarities between the violent White Fang and the French Revolution. How they devolved into bloodlust and violence before ultimately accomplishing nothing. Because this is what happens when people compromise their principles- they keep doing so until there’s nothing left.
And because revolutions and drastic societal change are not inherently POSITIVE like your post implies. While they can be like the American Revolution- that was led by a group of people who stuck to their principles and knew when to end.
That’s why I love RWBY- it has the balls to admit that sticking to your principles is the way to go. Something your rewrite lacks.
What would she feel, fighting for the side that, while may not have oppressed the Faunus directly, have remained ambivalent and blind to their struggles? Hunters who claim to fight for human and Faunus alike, but who clearly have more humans in their ranks and would choose to rather save a prosperous human city over a struggling Faunus slum? Would living among humans change her outlook on the fight, where she’s torn between reclaiming the hard fight to preserve her own heritage, vs. a relatively comfortable new identity, but one that forces her to assimilate with humankind and live on their terms? Is there a way for her to reconcile these two sides of herself, these two families she’s now a part of?
I would like to point out that no Huntsman in the show aside from the widely hated Cardin has ever shown a bias against the Fanaus. Hell, if Ruby and Yang’s reaction to Cardin bullying Velve, Tuskon owning a bookstore and Qrow’s comment about the discrimination of Fanaus in WOR is any indication- Fanaus equality is probably a virtue in Vale society. Unlike in Mistral or Atlas, So you’d need to fundamentally rewrite huge chunks of RWBY OUTSIDE of just the WF just to get this to work.
Almost like you don’t know what you’re doing...
But let’s not exclude other possibilities too. Assuming we have a Chaotic Good WF, what if Blake was actually proud to be part of the Fang, and enrolls into Beacon as an unashamed member? Her conflicts would then come from the people around her struggling to accept that - how would Weiss work with someone whose group keeps sabotaging their trains? How would Beacon deal with a public member of the Faunus liberation movement? Would some staunchly oppose her enrolment, while others see it as a possible bridge to better relations with the Faunus? How many Faunus would be inspired by Blake and look up to her as a Faunus-born Hunter, while others would decry and dismiss her as just a hollow figurehead and Remnant’s equivalent of a diversity hire?
We could also have the White Fang be nothing but a group of sadistic monsters, going around and murdering innocent people for the sake of making the show feel darker and more dramatic.
None of this is inherently better or even good.
When seeing other rewrites or revisions of RWBY, I still mainly see people trying to work with the WF as given in canon. They still keep the activism turned to violence and extremism. The WF and thus a majority of Faunus are still portrayed as terrorists and cannon fodder for fights. But what if there’s a better way of going about all this?
Why is it better? I’ve already demonstrated that portraying revolution as inherently good isn’t better because it’s a neutral thing in real life. And that the WF as it stands reinforces the theme of principles and heroism. I’d say your version makes it stand out and feel less cohesive.
Again, this usually happens because the person wants Adam to be a good guy or a (not really anti-)hero, Or that they believe that violence for their cause is good and want the show to validate them. Neither of which I accept.
In the end, this is just an interesting thought exercise,-
It’s not really a thought exercise if it’s portrayed as definitively better.
As Blake has said in the manga: “Fangs of pure white need not shed blood.” Those words and the imagery they evoke have always stuck with me when I think about the White Fang and how Blake could have been written, and gives such a valuable insight to why the group was named the way it was.
What if they had never strayed from that name? What if they had not been treated by the story as just faceless enemies to mow down by the dozens… but as people from the very beginning?
You know, I find this awfully funny. Because uh-
Tumblr media
Them fangs looking pretty white.
You try citing a non-canon manga but completely miss the symbolism behind the Grimm masks they use. That in their bloodlust and self righteousness, the White Fang has become no different than the creatures of Grimm. Their pain and suffering don’t matter because their actions (terrorism and mass murder) just can’t be excused. It doesn’t matter if the faceless WF member the team is facing was ostracized by society for something they couldn’t control-
They’re still trying to kill them and everyone they care about. All because they fell to their flaws. Just like Cinder. Just like Salem. And just like so many revolutionaries.
