Did you know the Saltwater Crocodiles can jump 10 feet out of the water? 🤯

Saltwater crocodiles are known for their ability to jump out of the water. They can reach heights of up to 10 feet, and even more in some cases. This ability is a result of their powerful tail muscles and buoyancy control.

The tail muscles of a saltwater crocodile are incredibly strong. They can generate enough force to propel the crocodile out of the water with a single powerful thrust. The buoyancy control comes from the crocodile's lungs. When the crocodile wants to jump, it takes a deep breath and then exhales forcefully. This reduces the amount of air in its lungs, which makes it more buoyant. This allows the crocodile to jump higher and further.

Saltwater crocodiles use their jumping ability for a variety of purposes. They may use it to catch prey, defend themselves from predators, or simply to get a better view of their surroundings.

So finally the “monster” 🦖 that would eat all these monkeys, birds, snakes and what else I found along the Kinabatangan River. 😁⁣ Anything they can grab, they will eat. They can even leap out of the water to get some if their favourite snacks of some branches. ⁣ Saltwater Crocodiles are also highly territorial and each one of them “own” a big section of the river, which they would also share with females. ⁣ They are very fast swimmers ( short lengths as fast as 3x the speed of the fastest human swimmers ) so I would not recommend to go swimming in Kinabatangan River. ⁣ ⁣ Swipe left to get a close up of this crocs face.⁣ ⁣ Would you dare to jump into this river?
