At the start of Sam and Buckys relationship, things are a little rocky because Sam's love language is quality time, which is weird for Bucky because people usually don't want to be around him (unless they want to hurt him) so he's used to being alone.

Buckys love language is acts of service, which is weird for Sam because he's usually the one doing everything for others at the cost of his own mental health, so he's used to being independent.

One last post overanalyzing Sam and Bucky's relationship because why did I never realize that Sam gives Bucky the same "I need you" look in TFATWS AND in Endgame?

In Avengers: Endgame, Sam looks at Bucky as if to say, "what is happening/what do I do"?

In TFATWS, Sam tells Bucky that Karli wants to see him alone but his eyes seem to be silently asking "Will you come with me?".

And it both cases, Bucky seems to understand what Sam needs because he gives it to him, first with the reassuring head nod, and in the 2nd scene by telling Sam he'll go with him.

I love that Sam's first reaction was to look at Bucky in Avengers: Endgame, as if asking for reassurance, and Bucky gave it to him with a simple nod. And I love that in TFATWS, Sam didn't even have to say the words, Bucky just knew.

I feel like they have had this really close relationship for a long long time, even when they were just supposed to be 2 guys who had a friend in common.

Ya know, now that I’m thinking about it, Sam was so unsurprised that Bucky just showed up unannounced at his work. Like he literally had no shock even though Bucky had been ignoring him and basically was MIA, Sam wasn’t like ‘wtf???’ bc it was out of nowhere, he wasn’t confused or questioning. Sam really just was like ‘omg here we go with the bullshit 🙄🙄’ and was waiting for Bucky to just go away and leave him be. And bc of that, I bet it’s not the first time. I definitely feel like Bucky pulled up on him randomly before, was ridiculous and annoying for a bit, and then went back to ghosting him, so Sam was totally unfazed when Bucky did it again.

That interview where Anthony said that Sam visited Wakanda every other weekend to check up on Bucky.

Bucky, who usually sticks to his little plot of borrowed, temporary land with his goats, gets presentable every single time. He washes his hair and lets those little kids work some loose braids into it and put it up into a bun or half-bun.

He wears his nicest, cleanest attire too because every other weekend, he gets to introduce Sam to the city life. Bucky knows that Sam doesn't only show up just to check in, as a friend would. The guy wants to taste the food, see the clothes, and hear the dialects -- just wants to get to know the cultures. Sam's all smiles when they go into the cities and he's so lively that Bucky can't help but take on that personality as well.

Bucky finds himself at outdoor bars with his hair loose. People dance and they laugh and sometimes when Bucky pretends to be able to get drunk so Sam doesn't know that he's not such a hardass, they join in. Bucky tries to teach and guide him, based on the moves that others around them perform. Sam learns quick and he's swift. It's a good time.

They try smoothies and all of the meals that are on the healthier side. Bucky convinces Sam to try a different dessert at least once every visit.
