it feels like SS become just a parody on itself. At first I was kinda frustrated with some particular moments and decisions that was made, but y’know it’s just make me giggle. I not a part of fandom for more than a year, but every time when I accidentally come across hashtags about it it’s kinda sad. Not the fan content tho
I understand your feelings and I feel the same. There are a lot of decisions Mr. Sanders made (and still makes) that are very weird, if not downright questionable. And I’m strictly talking about the Sanders Sides series itself, because:
a) he’s free to do anything he wants with his life and his other projects
b) I don’t want to talk about how manipulative and childish he acts, every time someone dares mention Sanders Sides to him
I believethe main reason why the series looks so shallow and stupid now is that there is still no outline nowhere to be seen. I know I am a broken record because I said it 200 times already, but it’s not my fault if the outline is the essential piece of a story: you just need an outline, period. It doesn’t matter if we’re talking about a novel, a movie, a comic or whatever: every story needs a project and the project should be planned in advance. So your characters won't become the parody of themselves and you won't lose the story along the way.
If Mr. Sanders planned the entire story in advance, he would know how long season 3 would be, how every character would change and grow, what threads would be closed and how and what the finale would be. But try asking him any of these questions now: he has no clue. And it’s pretty clear he has no clue. Because if he had any clue, he would’ve finished the season 2 finale two years ago.
Now, I know what you might say: writing takes a long time. Sure, but also no. Planning, researching and writing the outline takes a long time. Writing the story itself doesn’t have to take long. If writing the story takes too long, then there’s a problem. Maybe because there’s something wrong in the outline, maybe because the writing style isn’t good, maybe just because the author doesn’t love the story anymore. But there is a reason.
In Thomas’ case, the reason is probably a mix of all these things: he never planned in advance, the story became too difficult for him to handle and he consequently lost his passion for it. That’s absolutely normal and fine: everyone can lose their passion for a story and everyone is free to move on.
What is not fine is not admitting it and pretending everything is okay. Because the recent Aside is proof of how things are not as fine and dandy as Thomas hopes people think.

Psychonauts brainrot has been temporarily interrupted by Ninjago brainrot (blame it on that audio clip from the movie trending) which is why I haven’t been posting, but here’s some more Psychonauts hcs <3
Expanding on my Lizzie having forearm crutches, her and Morris decorate each other’s mobility aids.
Lizzie also makes little ice figurines for the others, even if they don’t last too long.
Sam really likes colouring books, just because they’re therapeutic. She has a whole collection of them and her friends always get her new ones as gifts.
Norma is a white-noise girl, Lizzie is an asmr girl. (I think I’ve said that second part before.)
Mirtala loves braiding Frazie’s hair.
One time Adam offered to babysit Mirtala and Queepie, saying it couldn’t be that hard. Lost both of them within 15 minutes. He never offered again.

IM AT SUCH A CROSSROADS-
Thomas is such a talented individual, to the point he can just sound slightly different and we as fans can recognize that he’s acting as different characters.
I KNOW he’s talented enough to pull off badass works of art, especially when it comes to Sanders Sides.
Now all of a sudden, after making MASTERPIECES like the Into The Unknown cover, and SVS (part 1 and 2) AND WTIT, he can’t make a decent Sides vid?
I love the new vid, don’t get me wrong. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I will love Thomas’ work regardless of what it is.
However, the HUGE downgrade NEEDS to be talked about.
So let’s discuss my thoughts on the uproar of anger at this new episode.
First and foremost, the makeup. It TANKED. Just look at this- How did Janus and Virgil go from this -
TO THIS???
Like, Thomas what happened. I can 100% understand that Janus’ scales are far from easy to do, so his is more understandable, especially bc he has a new makeup artist. It just looks like it’s the artists first attempt?? If that makes sense??
On the other hand, I have NO experience in makeup, absolutely zero. Yet, I still think I could manage to do Virgil’s makeup- it’s one step.
The writing was so off this whole episode too. Roman was almost unrecognizable until the other sides appeared- like why was he so out of character-
Janus’ whole character was so complex, and I loved it, and then this asides episode came out and he’s suddenly just a sassy wine aunt. What did they do to my boy?
THE BIGGEST THING THAT TRIPPED ME UP THO.
Why does this episode exist?
We already talked about how anxiety will look different to other people. YEARS AGO actually. VIRGIL WAS THE FIRST TO SAY THAT. And yet we are here. Why?
GRGRGGRGR IT MAKES ME SO ANGRY- I JUST WANT SANDERS SIDES CONTENT, BUT NOT AT THE EXPENSE OF THE QUALITY DROPPING. I will gladly wait these nearly four years for an episode, but if the quality looks like THIS, I don’t want it. I don’t want the season finale that badly. Quality over quantity, Thomas.

I don't know if you were ever into the IT movies, but I remember when It chapter 2 came out in 2019 there was like a rumor that there would be a super cut with a bunch of deleted scenes and a lot of people were excited about. And that super cut like never came out

I watched Thomas's video talking about everything. I have exactly five thoughts on it.
For him addressing criticism badly: I'll believe it when I see it. I hope he stops doing shit like guilting a fan into apologizing for daring to bring up sanders sides because that's just fucked up.
As for the actual finale. 1. writers block and doubting your writing ability fucking sucks, so bad and I understand that a lot as a writer. 2. I fucking knew Thomas is trying to make every video better then the last. I knew it. He said that he's putting in six songs into the finale. Six. Songs. That alone is going to take fucking forever, along with recording, filming and then editing and everything else.
I really hope that if he decides to make another season after this he dials the production value back down to 1. It's at a 10 right now and when you keep trying to twist the dial up you don't move it up to 11 you break the dial. the production value doesn't seem sustainable, he needs to go back to making shorter lower production videos without stakes. Ya know, filler, what the asides is supposed to be.
god damn I forgot my fifth thought so I'll end with this thought that wasn't the fifth thought but is a thought:
No matter what there's going to be people who are disappointed in the finale, I'm not talking about me and other ts critters but just fans in general. Everyone's had three years to theorize and come up with their own explanation for everything. And not everyone will be right, maybe no one will maybe the finale will pop out of a hat box and bitch slap everyone. Not everyone's going to love it, people will be disappointed and I hope by then Thomas learns to put his phone down and walk away when he inevitable sees those tweets because he will. Either because someone tags him or replies to his post or he just sees it because he interacts with fans all the time so twitter will push those tweets to him.

sanders sides and situational context
okay i'm adding nuance to my sanders sides take because i feel like it needs to be said.
i don't think having sanders sides episodes be ad reads are a bad thing. it's important to remember that this is thomas' livelihood and he has people to pay.
i also don't think fluff is a bad thing, and i genuinely miss when episodes were light and breezy. (which, reminder: that's what the Aside videos were meant to be.)
i don't think having a fluff, time-filling video for an ad read is bad.
but i DO think that doing an ad read for a series that has not had a main plot-centric episode uploaded in roughly 2 years while the fanbase is held in update-less limbo isn't exactly a good look.
i've seen several people try to play the "gotcha!" card of: "well the crofters video was an ad too!"
firstly, as i said: it's not a bad thing for a sanders sides episode to be an ad.
secondly, the crofters video was uploaded April 19th, 2018. the next video, Learning New Things About Ourselves (the puppet episode) was uploaded October 29th, 2018.
roughly six months. LNTAO was a high-production video, and the delay was more than understandable. however, six months compared to two years isn't exactly a fair comparison.
(side tangent: i've seen some people talking about a supposed bonus episode made that was locked to patreon; i don't have patreon nor am i fully informed about the situation or if it's even real so i have no opinion no the matter.)
i have not seen the newest video yet, but i am excited to do so. i have missed these characters greatly and they hold a special place in my heart. but that does not negate my frustrations with thomas + co. about how disjointed this series has become.
in no way am i demanding new content. in this age of the push for endless content consumption, i am not asking nor expecting an indie team such as them to create new episodes every week as it used to be. that would be ridiculous.
i'm asking for clarity. that thomas would occasionally tweet "scripting is 1/2 done!" or "we're slowing sanders sides production to focus on other projects/ensure that the finale product is up to our stands/take a break."
if the thomas and/or team were to say "hey, we're going radio-silent for the next few months to really focus on the finale, don't expect any new content for a while", i would scream for joy. because then at least we would know to wait, and roughly for how long.
it's the fact that we sort of get new unrelated videos at the same time that this really high-production finale is getting workshopped that concerns me. this is not healthy time-management.
it feels disingenuous to keep fans in the dark about a very high-production (and fan-funded given patreon,) end-of-season 4-parter, and announce more merchandise for a series that has felt as though it were abandoned.
i'm certain it's difficult behind the scenes, and i wish the team would let off some of that pressure to release smaller, low-production videos that are slice-of-life and less taxing to create. (probably once a month at best.) or at bare minimum, the fans are better informed on the timeline of production, so that the waiting feels less infinite.
i'm not expecting anything to change. and while i joke about being angry with the team, i'm not. i'm not even disappointed, really.
in truth, i fear for the future of the series if things continue at this rate. and i hope the team takes the time to acknowledge this stagnant feeling within the fandom and take measures to counter it. that's all i can hope for.
tl;dr people have a right to be frustrated with the new video, people have a right to be happy with the new video, and updates on production would be nice, though it shouldn't be expected as much as i hope for it.

Yo, Miss Bea (can I call you that?) I have a theory about the release date of the Season 2 Finale: if you look at Thomas' last tweets, you can see him secretly inserting a countdown between the lines, for ex, yesterday he mentioned 9, the day before yesterday it was 10. And if today he tweets something and there will be 8, then I'll lose my mind [P.S. I also bet my gum that the episode will be released on the 1st of July or close to it, and if not, then I'm a big clown 🤡]
If you are right, you truly are great! And even though I am not sure Thomas did it this time (I do not remember an 8 anywhere), it's a great idea and I hope Mr. Sanders will do this for some future videos, because it would hype me and everyone else a lot.

One day or Day one, am I right?
Okay, so god knows the amount of ideas I have for a few of the fandoms I hold close to my heart. The main one as of right now being Teen Wolf.
So here's a list of ideas I had written down or just in my mind for a long while :P (BTWs, a few of these I honestly don't remember my thought process for them, even tho I included a bit of context for myself in my notes)
Gone, Gone, Gone - Phillip Phillips /// Childhood Friends/Sweethearts AU [Sterek Animatic]
a lil montage thing of them growing up together, or something
Friends on the Other Side (Mash Up) - Thomas Sanders & Friends /// Kind of a mafia vibe w/ Spark Stiles [Pack Animatic]
- Stiles = Dr. Facilier
- Isaac = Oogie Boogie Man
- Others (couldn't think of which characters would fit with which disney villain)
Backstage Romance /// [Sterek Animatic]
- Some sort of ceremony, maybe? With how sexual the music video or whatever is, the idea is lowkey a mating ceremony...in dance??? Like obviously not sex, it was idea of the ceremony was going to be more them exchanging the mating bites
- Derek (the male role/voice) goes first in kind of seducing (dancing around) Stiles, then Stiles (the lady) would have his turn, and then both of them kind of seducing each other, aka dance together and are abt to bite each other
- Interrupted by hunters??? Or separated by their respective family / friends
- Flashback to b4 b4 the ceremony or when they were kids @ the "some of them want to use you," which in the flashback it'd be both their parents warning them about, well, people wanting to use them because they're a spark and a werewolf >>> then back to the ceremony
- But it is a whole ass dance like in the BGT video performance
Lover boy X Killer Queen /// I had three separate, but ultimately similar ideas for this one [Sterek Animatic (more tiktok formish)]
1. >>> Stiles talking abt Derek (Loverboy) / Derek talking abt Stiles (Killer Queen) <<< These are interchangable, like the songs could be either one of them
2. Derek describing himself to Eli / Stiles describing Derek to Eli
3. How Sterek acts like "now," (ignoring the movie) they're married and openly show that they love each other / How they used to act before, so like maybe Season 1-2 ish (?)
Inspo from reading title "Wolves who cried boy" - 3 ideas that kind of combined and became a 5 + 1 idea [Sterek Fic]
1. Stiles isn't known by the pack yet. So when the 5 pups (I think I included Jackson???) spot him in different areas around Beacon Hills, they all go to Derek or call him to come over. But Stiles is always gone by then, including his scent.
2. A *Stiles and Derek are around the same age,* where Derek keeps finding Stiles in the forest/preserve and his family never believes him or something
3. The '5' being idea #1 and idea #2 as like a flashback for the 5th one, and the '+1' being when Stiles finally showing up to the pack house by himself or w/ Derek

Only notes I have for this idea is, use "We're (a little bit) in love" as reference(-ish). Which I'm assuming is a fic I read, but I read so many damn fics I don't know which one this is. And my second note, Pack = Clan

Thought process:
- Claudia had a past w/causing trouble or slightly disrespecting the officers if she was questioned
- The Sheriff and Stiles are both badasses in finding evidence/proving ppl wrong
- The Hales would obviously be pissed at being chained/tied down and most likely bamfs when getting out of it :D

Hey guys, so I know I already don’t post a ton on here, let alone about Sanders Sides, but I know some of you have followed me because of my Sanders Sides related posts.
So this post is mainly for those people who follow me, or any other sanders sides fan who comes across this post who’s just browsing the tags.
I’ve come to the decision that after the season 2 finale, whenever that will come out, I will no longer be watching Sanders Sides as a regular fan.
I know a lot of people in the fandom are pretty bored of the lack of content or are just tired of waiting, or is upset with how the series is being handled/treated at the moment, or have just fallen out of love for the series, and I completely understand every single one of you who are feeling like that.
Personally, I am pretty tired of the current treatment of the series, I am incredibly tired of the lack of communication we get, I’m tired of being strung along with little comments to make us stay, I’m just tired.
Now, this is not to say that I am against Thomas in any way shape or form, no absolutely not. I want to make that incredibly clear! I do not hate Thomas Sanders! I am not against him! I understand this year has been awful for him both mentally and physically, and I am so proud and happy that he’s been doing better recently. And I wish nothing but the absolute best for him!
But there’s only so much I can defend. And lack of professionalism, communication and organisation is, unfortunately, not something I can defend.
There has been so many times where Thomas’ could’ve told us something, updated us on the writing, the production process, filming, etc etc, and it has just been radio silence, other than a few tweets here and there that still imply he’s in the writing process.
I’m at a point where I am even scared that the finale is just not going to be worth the wait we’ve had to sit through.
Let’s face it, the fandom is dead, the series is in purgatory - practically on the brink of death - we get no updates, no episodes, and the only sanders sides content we get is either ads or a little something for us to talk about for about a week, maybe 2 if we really milk it out.
But other than that, Sanders Sides has become a cash grab and filler content. Just let that sink in for a moment…
Yeah, I don’t know about you, but if this is what it’s like now, who knows what it’s going to be like for season 3. Yikes.
And personally, I don’t want to be around to watch that. I’m already having to watch a series I love and care about deeply slowly die in real time, I really don’t want to stay to see how far it will fall.
Now this is not to say that I am going to stop watching Sanders Sides, no I will still watch it, I will still watch season 3, but I will just not be considered a “regular fan,” more so just a casual viewer.
Once something dies down for me, I more or less just stop caring for it, this is pretty common for me and it’s pretty unfortunate to be honest, I’ve been like this with many other of my past special interests/hyperfixations, but for me if there is nothing to keep me hyperfixated on something….then what’s the point? For example: a few years back I was incredibly fixated on Teen Wolf, I watched the entire series on Netflix and I was completely and utterly obsessed. It was a main hyperfixation of mine for a long time, and then I finished the show. And whilst I still enjoyed it, I still liked it, it slowly faded into the background for me overtime. I may not be completely and utterly obsessed with it anymore now, but I still like it and I look back on it very fondly.
This has been the same for Sanders Sides, and it has been like that for a while now for me.
I still love it, I’d still like to see the end of it, but it’s just….not a huge thing for me anymore.
So yeah, after season 2 I am done with Sanders Sides, at least on a regular fan level.
Thank you so much for liking my Sanders Sides posts, despite how few there are compared to other sanders sides blogs on here, but I appreciate you stopping by and checking out my art and my theories/ideas.
I believe I still have a few sanders sides drafts on here that I never posted, so if you’d like to see them then I am more than happy to post them!
I’m not leaving the fandom forever, I’m more so just giving my time and energy to other things, and that’s okay. Sanders Sides will always be there, no matter how long it takes /lh.
