Concerned with the survival of unique Ukrainian architecture under constant russian bombing, ukrainian company Skeiron has launched a #SaveUkrainianHeritage project. They 3D scan culture monuments in order to preserve them, at least digitally, if the worst comes true. Asides from this utilitary use, the technology will also be helpful with monitoring the condition of the monuments over time.

While the beautiful church shown on the pictures - Saint Sophia Cathedral - has not yet been uploaded on their site, you can still have a virtual tour of the monuments they have already scanned here

Reposting my echo seemed to reach some new folks. I'm actually a bit obsessed with getting my heart imaged and tested. I have 3D models of my actual, real heart from a PET/CT research study. It really gives a sense of just how enlarged my heart is.

Do yall want more content about this? Tons more images, could make some videos.

Also if you want the STL files I'm happy to send them. If you have a 3D printer PLEASE let me know, really want a full scale model of my heart in the real world.

This cast is SO CRISP. I'm extremely impressed considering how old and rare the kit this is a recast of is. The super shitty JPG they printed on high quality photo paper with a laser printer is killing me though. UUUUUUGHHHHWGH I'M SO EXCITED TO PUT THIS TOGETHERRRRR

31: If you could write an episode, what would happen?

honestly there are so many things i would've loved to see in an episode, most of them involving worldbuilding, but if i had to stick solely to the scope of my own writing and as close to a canon tone as possible i would've loved to see the additional, non-zim irken cast having to interact with earth elements more - one thing that comes to mind is whatever the hell interactions the tallest had with dib in between him asking them invasive questions and calling them "alien scum" during the timeskip in frycook, but i think for my own personal enjoyment i'd want to do a baseball episode, not because i like baseball but because it means if i set this in a nebulous s2 continuity i can give tak a baseball bat and have skoodge wear a stupid lil outfit for some like. local little league collaboration with the skool gym class

my company is competing in an environmentalist XR challenge for AWE (Augmented World Expo), and we got through to the next round of judging!!!!!!!!!!!!

our focus is on showing how to reduce waste using spatial computing - like reducing landfill waste via replacing one-use items (like balloons, confetti, fireworks, etc) with virtual versions.

I’m also coming up with ideas for multiplayer physics games (like Jenga, air hockey, cornhole, etc etc) to show off as well...... generally anything that is often made of plastic, requires packaging & shipping, and is based around physical interactions between two people

ANYWAYS I’m making this post because I am excited!!!!! but ALSO I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of things they’d like to see me try to recreate?

don’t be afraid to suggest things that aren’t possible yet (like things that involve a sense of real touch), because the presentation is also about designing around reducing waste using future technologies - like haptic suits and gloves! :)

#auropost #another thing i'm thinking about including is virtual museum tours since there's a lot of public access 3d scans of museum models out there #so instead of someone buying a plane ticket to the smithsonian to see an exhibit..... you bring a 3d model of it to your living room! #i've looked at some of them myself and they're actually incredibly realistic #different textures react to light differently as you move them around and look at them from different angles #anyways PLS SHARE IDEAS IF YOU'VE GOT ANY #i would love to hear them #i want to get as much material as possible for our presentation #because i really want to help be part of steering this new tech into a focus on reducing waste/emissions #i know it's not a perfect solution because the tech itself is still physical and has to be mass produced #but it still has a lot of potential to cut our use of materials down in many cases
