Here's the art I did today! I tried a new program, and I'm pretty happy with how it handled. Going to try and use it for some more in depth painted pieces I think.
You can grab various types of prints of this work here

jrwi riptide 100//
Jay wanting to be a pirate just because of the freedom it gives her in this world. No lofty goals or ambitions. That’s what it’s always been about, hasn’t it? Since La Alma, who set sail from Joaldo without a thought of his future, and even before him, it’s been a clear theme. There is freedom in the open seas, there is freedom in having an open future. Not knowing what is next because you get to decide your heading.
And they help others find their freedom as well, as they make their own journey. Whether it’s by helping them fight back against whatever boot is crushing them, or trying to help them and give them resources to continue on their journey, or other such means. They’re the best goddamn pirates because they embrace this freedom, and they use their power to help others find their freedom as well.

u know what it is :)
getting the serious out of the way first: i don't sketch very often! and i don't sketch digitally very often. i usually work fast enough that i can get something fully rendered out in a pretty small chunk of my general free time so i don't... not do that often. this was a fun change.
so ok alright stick with me here. locus nightstalker running omni for obvious reasons. felix sentinel ursa furiosa because shield™ but also, more importantly, it is the funniest option to make the twink a titan and give him bear arms.
anyways, the actual loadouts with their justifications:
locus
small tether nightstalker w/ omnioculus: whole squad gets invis
primary: the supremacy. oh, you know, i just think it would be something to give him the sniper rifle whose flavor text is "he didn't recognize me, at the end." also visually similar to halo's sniper, though i did consider sole survivor for, well, you know.
secondary: felwinter's lie. pvp meta funny gun (derogatory)
heavy: thunderlord. machine gun go brr
felix
sentinel w/ ursa furiosa the right to bear arms: shield more, get more shield
torn on primary; either the last word (he's got to get one in) or mida multi-tool for that extra bit of snappiness
secondary: bxr-55 battler. halo gun. easy.
heavy: half-truths. halo sword. easy. also haha joke about lying through his teeth
if you want to recreate these hot fresh looks in-game (i don't have omni bc i cbf to farm for it):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and the bear arms look for sheer hilarity:

Edelgard the Underdog
Something that tends to get overlooked because the Empire has the biggest army in Fódlan is that Edelgard herself is by far the biggest underdog among Three Houses' leaders. Yes, she is a princess of the Adrestian Empire but she was never meant to be Emperor, she only became the heir because she alone among her siblings was able to withstand the torturous experiments they were subjected to. By that point the Insurrection of the Seven had already happened and whoever held the position of Emperor was little more than a puppet dancing on the Prime Minister's strings. Dimitri's status was assured the moment he popped out of the womb with a Crest. Claude just had to convince his grandfather he was who he claimed to be and could always fall back on trying to stake his claim to the Almyran throne if things in Leicester didn't pan out. Rhea and Thales have run their respective organizations for over a thousand years. In contrast, Edelgard's position granted her right to little more than a fancy title and a gilded cage (once they let her out of the literal torture dungeon that is). She didn't have any power, and she was never meant to have any power, whereas everyone else either already had power or was set to inherit it in due time.
So yeah, she ends up with the best army by the start of Part II, but only because she fought tooth and nail for it, using every ounce of cunning and political acumen she had, all while keeping the Those Who Slither in the Dark in... well... the dark, as to her plans.

story by me (craig)
I are literature
In the quiet town of Doodleville, there lived a peculiar doodle named Craig. Craig was no ordinary sketch; he was a cat with a mission. Despite his simple appearance, Craig harbored ambitions far grander than his humble origins suggested.
From a young age, Craig possessed an insatiable curiosity and a keen intellect. While his peers contented themselves with idle doodling, Craig spent his days studying the world around him, absorbing knowledge like a sponge. He learned about history, politics, and the intricacies of human behavior, all from the confines of his paper realm.
As Craig grew older, his ambitions expanded. He yearned for something more than the confines of Doodleville. He dreamed of venturing beyond the borders of his sketchbook and making his mark on the wider world.
One fateful day, Craig's opportunity arrived in the form of a stray pencil left unattended on the edge of his page. With a mixture of determination and excitement, Craig seized the pencil and began to draw. He sketched a doorway leading out of Doodleville, and with a final flourish, he stepped through into the unknown.
The world outside was vast and full of wonders, but it was also fraught with danger. Undeterred, Craig embarked on a quest to carve out his own destiny. Along the way, he encountered a colorful cast of characters, from mischievous doodles to formidable adversaries.
Despite the challenges he faced, Craig never lost sight of his ultimate goal: to leave his mark on the world and reshape it according to his vision. With each obstacle overcome and each victory achieved, Craig grew stronger and more determined than ever before.
In the end, Craig's journey was not just about conquering the world, but about discovering his true self and realizing his full potential. As he stood atop the highest peak, surveying the realm he had conquered, Craig knew that his adventures were only just beginning. For Craig was not just a doodle; he was a legend in the making, destined for greatness beyond the confines of his paper kingdom.

What If "Seize Your Destiny" was a Major Catchphrase In the Show?
I mentioned in the post about my poster that I wish "seize your destiny" was featured more in the show. This made me think of what would it be like if it were the new catchphrase?
It would likely replace "it's magic hour" but I like "Seize your destiny" more. Magic is everywhere in Gemina, so while the Mysticons' powers are cool, highlighting magic isn't that special. As the four girls are destined to be Mysticons, I like "seize your destiny" more.
One effect of switching the catchphrase is that the Arkayna wouldn't be the one to say it. "Seize your destiny" isn't something I imagine a 15 year old girl coming up with to get her team ready for battle. Perhaps the Dragon Disk would say that, either when it first gave the Mysticons their powers or when a riddle is unlocked. This catchphrase could also be sprinkled in to other characters when it would make sense to do so. For example, instead of King Valmauk (as Snorey Dude) telling Piper to "be the hero she was meant to be", he could specifically say "Seize your destiny".
Prophecy and destiny would also be highlighted. While it was featured for Arkayna and Zarya for a little bit, if it became the main catchphrase of the show, I think it destiny would come into play more often. There would be a prophecy saying that all of the Mysticons are destined to do something, such as defeating the Spectral Hand, and it is mentioned at the start and more is revealed of it as the series progresses.
This catchphrase would also be cool if one of them were reluctant to be a Mysticon. "Seize your destiny" could also mean don't be afraid to do what you're meant to do, which in this case, would mean be a Mysticon.

Messy little Eris/Toland sketch because I wanted to write something soft:
We’re the same creature. Eris’ bed is rumpled and stained with ichor. She and Toland have the same scaled arms, similar dark horns. Green light flickers faintly under her veil where she put it over his eyes last night. The sightless stare of Hive eyes in sleep are familiar to her from both within the pit and without, but there’s deep comfort and satisfaction in playing at wearing each other’s raiments, trading trinkets. If she looks down at the thick, soft blankets warming their legs she can’t tell who makes what shape at all.

At a surface level, Gillion always putting himself between danger and his friends just makes sense, because he’s noble like that, isn’t he? Gillion Tidestrider, Champion of the Undersea, Hero of the Deep, Riptide Pirate - he can tank a hit, or two, or three, and swing back just as hard. He’s protective, and he’s sturdy, and he’s stubborn. Then just a little deeper, Gillion would without question sacrifice himself for the greater good. For a friend in need, for a good hearted citizen, for the net positive - he’s noble, with a heart of gold, who’s courage knows no bounds, right? And then just a little deeper, Gillion would actively harm himself just to make someone feel better. Just to take the edge off of someone else’s misery. He’d take their own pain, or even unnecessary pain, so they might have some sort of relief. Even if it isn’t guaranteed, he’s so ready, so eager, to jump at the chance.
Gillion Tidestrider is someone born to meet impossible standards, constantly told he’s not good enough, taught that his suffering is necessary and through this his people will survive. He’s all these things, kind and courageous and chivalrous, with a heart that beats to help others in need - but he’s also self sacrificial. Dangerously so. He takes personal risks without second thought, he pushes his limits for even the little things, he helps to the point of his own detriment. He will bleed himself dry on the off chance it might help a good soul who needs it. He will do worse for his loved ones. And it isn’t just from the all encompassing need to help at any cost, but also this feeling deep down inside that he deserves it. It’s his destiny to save people, no matter the personal cost.
It’s pushed to the extreme with Felipe after the Feywilds. Gillion, still off center, freshly traumatized from his time in that god forsaken orb, still awaiting the verdict on if he’s guilty in the eyes of the council while fully convinced he is, finds out it’s technically his fault his new friend is filled with insatiable bloodlust and wants to stab him to death. Of course he encourages the stabbing. Of course he’ll mind control to keep the peace. And when all is said and done, and it hurts and it doesn’t help, he still wonders about pushing it further - fully behind this idea of him dying and being brought back, even if it’s not sure to work. Even if it’s not sure to bring him back.
And I just keep thinking, that for all the healing Gillion does - all those sick people from Joaldo, Chip and Jay countless times in their battles, members of the crew, various people hurting and in need of aid - he’s never once used lay on hands on himself. It’s a pattern, made noticeable in Edison Kingdom, where he heals Alphonse for half of a joke instead of his own 1 hp - which subsequently downs him on the way down - and it’s continues to the end of the Feywilds, where Jay and even Felipe heal the stab wounds he bleeds out from. He’s a healer with the power just at his fingertips, so easily within reach, and he doesn’t heal himself.
So it does beg the question - when will the line between ‘selfless’ and ‘self sacrificing’ be drawn?
