"she met a pinecone's fate" was hysterical the first time around and it's still funny but the longer I think about it the more unsure I actually am about the line
#it just feels so. callous. or like. it doesn't FEEL callous cause it's not portrayed that way and you laugh and I'm still laughing#but like. it's callous that is a callous thing to say and it's not like percy doesn't have dickishness to spare#but on this specific thing? really? he's not like that#like. this is after being told the full story so he knows what happened to thalia#and his response to effectively hearing about how this girl died for her friends and not just any friends but the people he's with rn#is “she met a pinecone's fate” a like. dismissive joke about what happened to her#like in the books percy empathizes with thalia's situation he feels for her it's tragic it's a somber moment😭😭#she was a demigod more powerful than the others she was hunted even more than they usually are (percy relates)#and she died for her friends (definitely something percy relates to and would value lol)#and on TOP OF THAT. to say this in front of grover and annabeth? who clearly loved her a lot??#like. percy doesn't like annabeth atp but he doesn’t hate her enough to be crossing those sorts of lines??#and GROVER. is literally his best friend. can you not figure that thalia's death probably weighs on him#oh wait I just remembered at that point in the episode he doesn't know grover was with them lol sorry ignore that bit#anyway. like I get it it's funny and they have a lightly antagonistic relationship in ttc so it's funny!!#like haha he's ALREADY getting his digs in!!#but. idk. feels a bit mean :/#pjo#pjo tv#dropping episode 3 thoughts mere hours before episode 4 lmao#I'm not gonna be able to watch 4 tonight though lol

more thoughts about messmer...
looking at his line of dialogue in the trailer:
"Mother, wouldst thou truly Lordship sanction in one so bereft of light?"
and this other line spoken by an unknown person:
"Those stripped of the Grace of Gold shall all meet death in the embrace of Messmer's flame."
it seems like Messmer is marked specifically as being antagonistic towards the Tarnished. now prejudice against the Tarnished isn’t really uncommon in the Lands Between, but at the same time it’s certainly not an absolute rule. the only two demigods specifically outlined as being notably anti-Tarnished are Godrick, who hunts them for his grafting, and Morgott, who kills Tarnished en masse to guard the Erdtree from them taking power. some demigods, like Rykard and Mohg, even incorporate Tarnished into their orders to oppose the Erdtree (to fight other Tarnished but the point still stands), and Ranni has no problem accepting a Tarnished as her vassal. so it’s interesting to note that Messmer is being characterized in this way.
if we take the duelist and depraved perfumer sets’ item descriptions to be alluding to Messmer, then this would date him very far back in the timeline, as the ritual sword talisman item description states that colosseum culture died out by the time of King Consort Radagon. since Miyazaki has all but confirmed that Messmer is Marika’s child, and so the “Mother” in his dialogue is almost certainly referring to her, then that would make him among her very eldest children, perhaps even her firstborn.
there are further points that  strengthen these connections to Marika and the Golden Order, in spite of all the heretical imagery. enhancing the image of the trailer clearly shows that there is a statue of Marika standing behind him, and that this statue is holding a baby. Miyazaki has stated that the chair he sits in is one of the very same chairs the other demigods sat in in Morgott’s boss room.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i also want to bring attention to this ring in his character design:
Tumblr media
i’m not going to make any wild conclusions about this, but I do think that it certainly doesn’t match with the rest of the reds and grays of his design, and looks far more similar to Golden Order aesthetic tendencies.
my speculative conclusions on this information relate to the relationship between Messmer and Marika. I think there’s definitely some ambiguity in his dialogue in the trailer: is he referring to the Tarnished as ‘the one so bereft of light’ or himself, living in a land of shadow? I think this ambiguity is deliberate. perhaps some quarrel occurred between Messmer and Marika that led to him being anathematized and forgotten in the shadow lands. perhaps because of this, he feels special anger towards the Tarnished: they, bereft of light just as he is, are shown Marika’s favor while he isn’t? perhaps he’s bitter and jealous that Marika might pay them more attention than she did him. just a thought!

Friendly reminder ☺️
Jason and Leo never got to reunite before Jason died.
Also have we though abt Thalia's initial response.
I know Reyna wrote her a letter, but we don't know her real reaction
Well, I cried, thinking abt it so I wrote this WIP, tell me if I should finish and edit it.
Thalia walked back to the nearby clearing in the forest. Her arms swinging beside her, her sweaty short, black hair contained by her circlet. Quiver containing her extra arrows and quiver heavy on her back.
Her other sisters carried the body of a deer they killed when hunting for the Teumissian fox.
It was a good hunt today. They had made progress on tracking the gods damned fox.
But something weighed on her mind, making her anxious and borderline paranoid.
A hand on her shoulder startles her. It was Naomi.
A sigh of relief escaped Thalia. She knew she was probably just acting irrational and it was probably just demigod nerves making her feel this way.
But the words escaping Naomi's mouth made her freeze harder than any nerves could, "Hermes is here to see you. He has a letter," she said in an almost shaky voice.
Weird, A god other than Lady Artemis wanting to talk to her. That didn't happen often. Especially with Artemis in Olympus trying to convince Zeus to get Apollo reinstated to godhood.
Hermes looked nervous, it set her even more on edge.
"Hey~~ Thalia" Hermes swallowed, "you might want to sit down to read this letter"
"Trust me, my lord, there is nothing that can phase me enough to have to sit down to read it. Besides, I can read the signature. It's from Reyna, what news could she have that prompted a personal visit from a god?"
Privately, she felt a heaviness set on her shoulders, like the sky would fall on her shoulders any time. And from what Annabeth and Percy told her that was no fun.
Suddenly, something hit her, there is only one person about whom Reyna could have sent serious enough news for a godly visit.
Hermes was still fidgeting as Thalia ripped open the envelope, maybe a but aggressively.
As her eyes tracked the words, all the air left her lungs.
No, no, no this has to be a joke
"Thalia, I don't know how to sugar-coat this so I won't. Jason is dead, he was killed when assisting Apollo and Meg on a quest. He was killed by Caligula, who threw a spear at him"
Thalia fell to the ground, the grass soft under her. The day was too good, the weather too perfect for her little brother to die. He likes the skies, he flies in them like a fearless hero. She thought, he was so much better than her both inside and out. If anyone should die it's her.
She opened her mouth to beg someone, anyone to bring her brother back. But all that came out was a guttural scream. Her power intensifying as her sorrow transcended heaven and earth. Lightning crackled overhead and on her skin.

Chapter Two: …And Into the Mist
“So, what’s next?” Luke asked, looking to Katherine in the driver’s seat of the stolen Camaro. “Now that I’m officially an accessory?”
“Aw, you’re being modest,” Katherine joked. “Without you, who would’ve been the lookout?”
“You seriously planned that?” he narrowed his eyes at her.
“Of course,” she scoffed, speeding down to the motel.
“But, you didn’t even ask me to come work you,” he pointed out.
“I’ve been doing this a while,” she sighed, pulling into the motel parking lot.
“So you steal cars wherever you go?” he asked, his tone more conversational than accusatory.
“Last one got destroyed in a fight with a griffin, so I needed a new one,” Katherine explained. “I saw the keys locked in this one on the way up here. So, I took the opportunity.”
“You’re very observant,” Luke noticed. “You were never trained?”
“Better; I’ve been on my own since I was twelve.”
“Fair enough,” he sighed, understanding her experiences. “So, are you gonna tell me what this hunt is that we’re supposed to be going on?”
Katherine readied herself for a long conversation as the two of them headed back into the dirty motel room.
“Alright. Lemme ask you this; if you could answer to someone other than the gods, would you?” she crossed her arms.
“What are you saying?” Luke looked up at her as he sat down, bewildered.
“I’m saying… wouldn’t you go for a regime change if you could?” she posed a question.
“Is that even possible?” he asked her.
“Yeah. It is,” she nodded. “You could serve someone who isn’t your father, or Zeus.”
“What makes you think I don’t like my father?” Luke asked cautiously. “Or, Zeus?”
“Well, for one, you’re here,” she pointed out, “And I didn’t even have to take anything off.”
“You’re telling me that was an option?” he raised an eyebrow.
“Look. When you told me you were a child of Hermes, I saw the way you looked, and I filled in the blanks for myself,” Katherine Montalvo stated. “The gods don’t give a shit about us. You went unclaimed, or at least unnoticed. Tell me if I’m wrong.”
There was nothing but a decent pause, as Luke considered what she said.
“Look, I know how it goes. I didn’t know my mother was my mother until I was thirteen. I had to figure out being a demigod on my own,” she frowned. “Even with my father being the asshole he was, she hardly lifted a fucking figure to help me. Look at all the unclaimed, and the shit goes on all over the world; the gods don’t care about us!” she exclaimed.
Luke sat for a moment, listening to her words.
“They don’t care about anyone!” she reasoned. “They’ve never been parents to any of us. They don’t give a shit about us! But imagine if we could get on their level! Imagine if no one could ignore us!”
Luke felt just as broken and downtrodden as she did. He’d known for years, ever since he was a child, that life had been unfair. He’d often wished when he was younger that he could do something about it, and fight for some sort of attention from his father, which was something he’d since given up on.
Not only did he find the prospect of somehow becoming as powerful as the gods to be appealing, but he was also lured by the darkness of Katherine’s eyes. There was something strangely manic about her, a raw sort of energy that he found hypnotic and contagious.
“Listen. I’ve been hearing this… voice. Like how I heard my mother’s, but it wasn’t hers.”
Luke Castellan met her eyes in shock, her words resonating with him.
“Wait. This voice,” he spoke up, “What’s it like?”
“The voice,” Katherine explained, “It’s deep, and… jarring. Like nothing I’ve ever heard before. It… it knows things. And it’s shown me things I could never dream of before.”
“Like, things that could make you more powerful?” Luke questioned. “Things that turned out helpful?”
“You hear him too,” she realized, searching his face in wonder. “Kronos. He speaks to you, too.”
“Kronos?” Luke asked. “The Titan? That’s who it is?”
“Yeah. He calls out to me, Luke. If I’m the one who resurrects him, glory and power are mine.”
“So, he really does speak to you, too!” he concluded. “He wants you to bring him back,” he whispered.
“Luke, we could bring him back,” Katherine scoffed. “Together, we could be the ones who help him rise back to power. Do you know what kind of rewards we’d get for that sort of thing?!”
“So it’s real,” he concluded. “Kronos chose us to be his soldiers.”
“Yeah. He did,” she insisted. “Together, we could bring him back, and be gods in the new world! If we succeed, we don’t have to answer to the gods, we could take their place!”
“That’s what I’ve always wanted,” Luke confided in her. “My whole life, I’ve just been a shadow. Why should my father and the other absentee landlords on Olympus get to stand in the spotlight?”
“Then what’s the issue? Help me find him. There are clues all over! If we listen to the voice, we can find him, and bring him back!”
“Alright. I’ll come with you,” he decided. “When I get back, I’ll tell everyone at camp I was on the quest. What did any of them ever do for me anyways?” he said bitterly.
“That camp is bullshit,” she scoffed. “You think the god of wine cares about demigods? Everyone knows he’s just there on a punishment. I’ve met demigods who’ve left Camp Half-Blood. They’re happier making it on their own.”
“Really?” Luke asked. “Who?”
“I’ve met a few. But I remember meeting Emma Pacheco, and Leo Jordan in Texas.”
“Oh. I remember them,” Luke realized. “She’s a daughter of Athena, and he’s a son of Hephaestus, right?”
“She’s a daughter of Athena, and he’s dead,” Katherine remembered. “He died in a Gorgon attack. I tried to help him, but… I couldn’t. Emma was devastated.”
Luke looked at her sympathetically, realizing that battle scars tended to run deeper.
“I’m sorry,” he said in a low, apologetic tone. “I’ve lost people too.”
“When I was younger, I thought living my life on the road would be easier. I thought I’d never have to know anyone long enough to care, and then, I’d never get hurt.”
Luke thought for a moment, finding that was mostly his experience in the brief amount of time he’d spent on his own as a child.
“But, that wasn’t how it happened?”
“The longer you’re on the road, the more people you meet,” she sighed, “Even if you don’t know them long. Eventually, you see more people die than most people do in a lifetime.”
“I can’t imagine it’s safe leaving the camp for that long,” he reasoned.
“That, and demigods aren’t known to live long anyways,” Katherine stated. “This lifestyle in general, it… it pretty much only ends one way.”
“Then, why do you do it?” he questioned. “Why don’t you, I don’t know… live a normal life?”
“‘Normal’?” she scoffed. “As a demigod?”
“Yeah. I guess we don’t get a whole lot of options,” he agreed understandingly.
“I dropped out of the sixth grade. My dad was an addict. I’m not giving up much by hunting monsters,” she said humorously. “At least this way, I’m helping somebody.”
“I get that,” Luke offered. “I really do.”
“Yeah. We don’t have many options,” Katherine reasoned, “So Kronos is our best bet.”
“So, what’s our first move?” he asked. “Where’s our first stop?”
“In my dreams, I saw the Underworld,” she told him.
“So you’ve had those dreams too?” he questioned.
“Yeah.”
“What else did you see?” he wondered.
“I don’t know. For me, the visions come gradually. I think we need to get on the road,” she thought, “Both of us.”
“You think that’ll work?” Luke asked, frustrated with the vague dreams and voices.
“I’ve never been able to force the voice. I something just has to trigger it,” she rationalized.
“Katherine. This is crazy. I just met you,” Luke thought aloud. “I have no idea how long we’ll be gone. They’ll never believe I’m on the quest. I finished it almost a week ago.”
“I have an idea,” she proposed. “I have a car, I’ll drive you back to New York. You can find a new excuse, and get us some supplies, and we can go off and find Kronos.”
“Yeah, but where?” Luke demanded. “Where do we even start?”
“Well, I wasn’t completely sure, but I was thinking I’d try the Underworld,” Katherine suggested.
“The Underworld? Without a plan?” Luke asked skeptically.
“Despite me carrying you through the woods on my back for two days straight, I think we have a shot,” she frowned.
Luke considered the idea for a moment.
“Alright. I’ll stock up on supplies and weapons at the camp, and then we’ll go to the Underworld. I just don’t know how we’ll get there,” he frowned.
“Easy. There’s an entrance in Central Park,” she informed him.
“There is?” Luke asked.
“Yeah. The Door of Orpheus,” Katherine replied.
“But, don’t you need music to open it?” he recalled.
“Yeah. I can sing,” she nodded.
“Can you?”
“Yeah. I can,” Katherine smiled sarcastically.
Both of them were alerted by a loud, aggressive knock on the door.
“Housekeeping!” a man’s voice shouted.
Luke went to get the door, as Katherine quickly grabbed him by the arm.
“Don’t open the door!” she whispered urgently.
“Why not?” he whispered back.
“That’s not housekeeping!”
“What, you think it’s a monster?” Luke said in a low murmur.
“No. It’s not a monster,” she snapped, grabbing her bag from the bed. “Open the door, and then run.”
Katherine quickly tossed the keys at Luke, as he caught them instinctively. He watched her as she reached for something tucked into the back of her belt.
“Get the car going,” she said through her teeth.
“What are you gonna do?” Luke demanded.
“Open the fucking door!” she whispered.
Knowing not to ask any more questions, Luke threw the door open, rushing the man on the other side of the door and shoving him to the ground. Another man followed. Feeling the need to help Katherine, Luke unsheathed his dagger, only to be interrupted by Katherine herself.
“Go! Start the car!” she yelled.
Luke stared in horror as he heard gunshots, looking to see her holding the gun that accompanied them. Thinking fast, he ran to the Camaro less than ten feet away in the parking lot. He jumped into the car, waiting and on edge as he watched.
It didn’t take many more gunshots for him to see Katherine running toward the car, leaving behind two still bodies on the ground behind her. He unlocked the car door as she jumped in, screaming at him to drive.
Luke pealed out of the parking lot in the Camaro, keeping calm as Katherine sat in the seat beside him, pistol cocked in her lap as she cautiously looked out the window.
“What the fuck was that?!” Luke screamed as he drove their getaway car as fast as humanly possible.
“Just drive,” she muttered. “Don’t stop until we’re out of the city.”
“Okay, if I’m gonna be an accessory to a double homicide you committed,” Luke insisted, “I’m gonna at least need the bullet points.”
“Fine, you women are so needy!” Katherine rolled her eyes. “Let’s just say, I killed a guy in St. Louis, and he’s got family.”
“This guy you killed,” Luke said as calmly as he could, “Why did you kill him?”
“That thousand year-old map I have? The one that I use to try and figure out what actually happened to Kronos? How do you think I got it?” she asked impatiently.
“Why?” he asked subsequently.
“Because. Usually, when you steal artifacts that have survived millennia, you tend to run into some complications,” she snapped. “Besides. The guy wasn’t exactly a pillar of society.”
“Why?” Luke inquired curiously. “What happened?”
Katherine sighed, staring down at the gun in her lap before answering.
“I was dating this rich guy. He owned a museum, and that map came into his possession. He didn’t know what it was, because he didn’t speak Ancient Greek, but obviously, I did,” she explained. “I wanted the map, and I wanted out. The end.”
“Wait,” Luke stopped her, “You… You dated a guy who owned a museum?”
“Yeah,” she responded stiffly.
“How—How old was he?” he asked.
“Thirty-six,” she said.
Luke looked at her as he drove, seeing emotion in her eyes for the first time.
“How old were you?” he asked.
She turned to look at him, seeing that he asked knowing she had no comforting answer for him.
“I was young,” she said simply.
“I’m… I’m sorry,” he breathed, unable to imagine the extent of her pain.
“You don’t know me,” Katherine told him, pushing him away in a way that wasn’t physical. “You don’t know me at all, okay? You don’t know what I feel, and you don’t know what I’ve had to do to survive.”
“No,” he agreed. “I don’t.”
“Trust me. You don’t need to,” she assured him, still unable to remove the gun from her lap.
Katherine knew that she’d never felt an affinity to anyone. Her father, the only parent she’d ever known, wasn’t much of a parent, and no one she’d met on the road since she left home was reliable. But the scar beneath his right eye told her everything she needed to know.
She knew Luke had been broken down the same way she had, which was also the only reason she’d decided he was the one to recruit on her mission to find the Titan of time, the father of the gods. Katherine knew she needed dependability in Luke, and she knew the only way they could both succeed was as soldiers first and people second.

Yandere Apollo w/Child!Like Rapunzel Headcanons
Request: ‘’By any chance do you write platonic fics if you do can you do (Greek Myth) yandere!Apollo having a child!reader who is like Rapunzel (just the hair) having healing power through her voice and hair (combined) y'know like she did to Eugene’’ - send by Anon.
"Your voice is the sweetest of all, my baby." - Apollo.
❝☀️ — lady l: okay, I did that, I'm not sure if it is good, I confess I'm not used to writing headcanons, but I tried. Constructive criticism is welcome! :)
❝☀️ tw: yandere themes, mention of murder and torture, possessive and obsessive behavior, child being taken from its mother. If you are uncomfortable with some of these topics, I recommend not reading.
Tumblr media
When you were born, your mother always knew you wouldn't be "normal", after all you were the child of the god Apollo, therefore a demigod. She always knew you would have some kind of power, but she had no idea what you were really capable of.
Apollo has many demigod and god children, but you are his favorite. Since your mother got pregnant, he's become especially attached to you and no one knows why he insists on being with his mother at every stage of her pregnancy. It wasn't natural, since normally after the gods impregnate a human they tend to "abandon". He would be together in absolutely everything, like your mother or not, and no one would dare to contradict the god.
You were the apple of your father's eye. He absolutely adores you and, against all the other gods' habits, he took you to raise you. He didn't mind your mother's disagreement at all, he strictly warned her (threatened) not to try to interfere in your relationship.
As you were born a demigod, he will transform you into a minor goddess. He wants you to be immortal so you could be with him forever.
It wasn't until you grew up and discovered your powers that you finally understood why your father was so protective and smothering of you. You possessed a special power, that none of Apollo's other childs, your hair, was magical and could heal wounds and even bring people back to life. Your power was unique and must be protected.
Apollo became overprotective, smothering and possessive of you. He adores you, ironic isn't it? The god worshiping a demigod. You weren't like the other children, you were more special, so he took care of your education himself. No one could educate you like him, he's sure of it.
You can't talk about Apollo without quoting Artemis. Artemis didn't think much of you at first, she just thought you were one of the many children Apollo had. But when he decided to raise you, that's when things got interesting. Artemis also developed a platonic feeling for you, when she first met you and realized how sweet, innocent and naive you were, the goddess knew she had to protect. She was probably just waiting for you to become one of her Hunters (if you are a girl).
As you grew up, your hair was already so long that you had to spend hours of your day combing and pinning it, but you liked it that way and you knew your father did too.
You also possessed the gift of music, of course, you were the child of the god of music, but along with the healing power you possessed, your voice soothed whoever you were going to help. Although Apollo doesn't much like you getting close to other people, except him and Artemis.
Speaking of which, Apollo won't allow you to have a relationship with anyone when you reach marriageable age. You will stay with him, he will make sure of it. Apollo is more than willing to shoot a few of his arrows at any suitor. Artemis, who has become as protective of you as he has, won't mind helping hunt down anyone who approaches you in a romantic way.
Apollo loves it when you sing to him when he gets hurt. He is the god of healing, but he prefers you to heal him, singing a gentle melody as you wraps your hair around his wound.
Although Apollo is known to have many lovers (most tragically dead) he doesn't want you to have the same experiences, he doesn't want to see you cry over being rejected and, out of his own selfishness, he doesn't want you to leave him.
Apollo will allow you to grow a little, but only up to 16 years old. You were adorable as a child and became stunning as a teenager and that attracts attention that he considers unnecessary.
There are few people who know of your power, being the gods themselves and your mother. Apollo wants it to remain my secret as long as possible, he knows it's selfish to keep a rare gift that can help humanity all to himself, but he doesn't care, you were his child and he would make sure you stay by his side forever.
If you were taken from Apollo, by some monster or even human, oh boy, it would start a war. He doesn't care one bit that he's not the god of war, he'll probably convince Ares to help him (maybe Ares developed his own obsession with you) and he's more than willing to destroy the entire world just to have you back. Curse the place where you're being held with a plague, flay the kidnapper alive, and definitely, after that person's death, would ask Hades to torture them forever in Tartarus.
Apollo tries to be a good father to you, and he is. But you know he's both selfish and jealous, he doesn't want to share you with anyone but Artemis because he trusts her and knows she adores you. The god knows the power you have is special, how your hair shines, your singing and how you can heal people and even bring them to life, should be shared, but again, he is selfish and he is not letting go his little girl/boy leave his side. You belonged on his father's side and he will reward you eternally if you are a good girl/boy and listen to him.

Pre HOO Jason just casually usurping his father for the Olympian throne.
And everyone's like oh how typical of a son of Zeus... Jupiter(?) always searching for power.
Jason's just like "you think I wanted this? We've been lodging complaints for years because you guys never visit us.
If I didn't do this the 1st cohort were gonna sacrifice Steve, and no one wants that especially not Steve.
So we held a vote, and well..." He sighs like someone who's just done with everything. "Everyone voted for me, even Octavian so you know shit is fucked.
Anyway, I'm in charge because you sir are bad at it like... terrible at it. Don't worry I'll give it back, once you sort out your... Everything."
Zeus/Jupiter is pissed as all heck but Poseidon calls a vote and shockingly everyone votes in favour of Jason.
Jason is just yay my plan is working but also... Why me?!
"Why did they vote you?" Asks Annabeth.
Jason shrugs "apparently other than Reyna who said no way, I'm the only other one who has 'common sense' and won't 'fuck things up anymore than usual.'
Apparently keeping a bunch of Romans from burning down camp every other week, makes me qualified to lead. The whole lead them into battle against Krios only made it worse."
Annabeth blinks, before nodding "no yeah, makes sense. I'm Annabeth Chase."
"Jason, Jason Grace.... Erm is she okay?" He points to Thalia who is just trying to process everything.
"Oh she's fine, just a lot to take in. She's my sister, well our sister Thalia Grace." Says Annabeth, having figured it out already.
Jason grins "no way?! Really?" He frowns "hey wait Nico told me she was a tree?" Annabeth snorts "it's a long story."
That he can agree with.
"Soo... What should we do with him?" Asks Percy pointing to the very pissed off Zeus/Jupiter who's laying in a heap on the floor.
"He's going to lose his powers. He's going to become someone that even a newly turned demigod can defeat.
He will know what it means to helpless and have no one to turn to. He will have the same immortality of that of a huntress, all the while everyone he's ever messed with hunts him for sport.
His only allies will be those who choose to aid him. He will be shunned, he will be isolated and learn what it means to be mortal."
Evetuone looks at Jason in shock, probably because it was the first time they'd seen him so serious.
Suddenly an entire legion voting this guy to be Zeus/Jupiter's replacement made a lot more sense.
"And what" spits Zeus/Jupiter, getting up to glare at his spawn. "Makes you think you can do that to me?"
Jason smiles, but it isn't kind "wouldn't you like to know, weather boy?" Before throwing something that engulfs his father in blue smoke.
When the smoke clears, the great king of Olympus now appears as a young man. He tries to pick up his masterbolt, enraged and it shocks him.
Hera is escatic, pulling Jason into a hug "you did it, I knew you had it in you." She says ruffling his hair "Lady Hera!" He pouts, trying to fix his hair.
She frowns "none of that, I have told you time and time again to call me mum." Jason mouths the words as she speaks, very clear they've had this conversation a lot.
"Sorry your majesty, Lady Hera, Queen of Olympus." Hera sighs but her gaze is fond.
"Mum?" Asks Annabeth. "I'm her champion but she'd watch over me as a baby and as a kid so she basically helped raise me." Explains Jason.
He totally knew about the bet Hera and Lupa had to see which he'd call mum first, and he totally wasn't messing with them both.
Nope, absolutely not.
"And er yeah, you guys can take him back to your camp when you want." Says Jason.
Hera lights up, a devious smile on her face. "I'll take care of that" Apollo raises a hand, a similar look on his face "I'll help."
The two vanish with the now fallen king.
Well that should be fine.
Probably.
Jason shrugged, ah well he tried.
"Soo... Who are you anyway?" Asks Percy, curious. Jason sighed, he was gonna have to put that nap on hold.
"Well it all started when my mum left me to the wolves, pun not intended."
(@star-archivist I'm not sure it this what you meant by "needing more of this", but.. Here it is 😅)

Kymopoleia is very controlling of her children. She will give them “gifts” that actually allow her to tell where they are, and she uses her children as demonstrations of her power, allowing them to cause sea-wide conflict when she desires.
She usually has her children live with her in her underwater palace, and trains them herself. This allows her to also control what she tells them and what they learn. However, if any were to escape her grasp, they’d see a very different view of the world than the one she spouts.
She prefers her children to reflect the world that she lives in: the mythical. She gives them clothes from the styles of ancient Greece, and teaches them ancient Greek from when they’re born. If she wants to send them somewhere specifically to be an ambassador, only then will she teach them a different language.
If one of her children is able to escape her grasp, however, she will spend time with her council waging if it’s important enough to hunt them down, or to let them die. More powerful demigods she usually keeps to add to her council as they grow older.
Her rage can be extraordinarily frightening, and when she’s angry usually her servants escort themselves and the children away as she destroys things with fury.
CABIN:
Her cabin incorporates the stormy colors of her own underwater palace. There are dark pebbles pressed into the walls, and waves carved into the sides of the cabin. The cabin also has mirrors on it pointing to the sea, which can reflect the different weather patterns around it. They are blessed to never break, and some campers also use them to check their appearances.
Inside, there is a small fountain for Iris calls, and there are a few beds. The cabin is rather sparse, as she doesn’t send many of her children to Camp Empeiria. The cabin is largely kept neat to make sure Kymopoleia doesn’t see any mess (as she can check up on any of her children easily with an Iris call). There is also a small fish tank for different little sea creatures there, which gives the cabin a blue glow at night.
CABIN CULTURE:
The cabin is always on high alert to expect a call from Kymopoleia. Thus, anyone in the cabin is expected to be on their best behavior at all times. This can lead to the demigods staying in the cabin to isolate themselves in their downtime.
However, if there’s a way to hide it, sometimes the campers stuff various items under their beds. Through being able to see the world outside of their mother, they are able to learn more about what most interests them. While this can have them come off as secretive to other campers, in reality, they may not know what it’s like to live like the other campers. However, this may not be a universal experience.
If any of the demigod children have a vastly different experience to the others, they tend to easily stand out. This can sometimes even put them into a higher position, as they may have important knowledge the others don’t have. However, this can also lead to a fair amount of arguments as they try to slowly wriggle out of their mother’s grasp, which can damage the cabin, especially since the water many of them can control is so close at hand.
SOME POTENTIAL POWERS:
Hydrokinesis
Tempestkinesis
Enhanced strength / size (for creating huge waves)
Manipulation of anger
Proficiency in swimming
Breathe underwater
Sensitivity to wave vibrations (allowing them to tell exactly where things are in water)
Reblog or @/ this blog if it inspires you to make your own child of Kymopoleia! Thank you @overanalyzer for the request!

Would you be willing to elaborate on why you think hoo broke the rules of the world? I didn’t like the series bc of what it did to the og character arcs but I never caught onto it breaking the rules. No pressure to do so I’m mostly just curious
lol it's okay! WEEEEEEEELLLLLLL where to begin?
Big Three Kids!
The whole point of PJO was that there was nobody like Percy. That they were rare and were destined to be hunted to death because they weren't meant to be born. So then, of course, you assume they don't exist! The ones who are alive each paid a heavy price- Bianca and Thalia died, Thalia chose immortality, Bianca and Nico each lived in a weird universe where they missed out on their own lives.
There was no real reason for Jason to be a child of Zeus other than to put him in a position of leadership, but the thing about New Rome is that they have a different system about these things anyway with their cohorts and stuff and him being Thalia's sister adds so little to anything it was just a really stupid move imo.
I get what Riordan was trying to do with Hazel by circumventing the rule-- but it feels cheap and tacky. ESPECIALLY because Hazel's powers are so badly plotted out that she could have just as easily been a child of Hecate lol.
The most baffling one, though, is FRANK who is for some reason a legacy of Poseidon? I would have thought that was cool-- like being a legacy and so many generations before you having lived out their lives despite being demigods? SUPER cool. In that case. Why is he also a son of Mars?
It feels like too much is being packed into too little and when you don't have the time to explore these things, they just seem like he's saying hey. I know I said it's rare for demigods to grow old. But that's GREEK demigods. The ROMANS are super cool and super fun and they don't stand by the same rules!
2. The actual powers themselves.
Leo, son of Hephaestus and brother of Charles Beckendorf who died in a fire- now has control over fire! Piper can basically brainwash anyone because she's got Charmspeak but wait! There's more! Her sister Drew ALSO has Charmspeak!! Both of them are, of course, sisters of a girl who was manipulated into betraying all her friends <3 Hazel's a daughter of Hades? She's magic. Also she has power over gems and knows her way underground (I cannot even begin to think of WHAT made him decide the black girl needs to play ANY of these roles but I digress). Frank's just an average son of Mars who can turn into any animal he wants, which is totally cool and normal!
Do you remember how special Percy was in PJO? How hard other demigods had to train in combat because they would be killed if they didn't learn it? Remember how absolutely rare it was to see demigods with that kind of power, to the point where Chiron didn't want Percy and Thalia to be near each other because he feared they'd destroy everything? Not anymore <3 Super Powerful Demigods can now sit together on a ship and face no consequences at all, even when they have minor disagreements because they all come together very organically !!
3. Character arcs
I know you said it, but I can't talk about HoO and not bring up Nico di Angelo. Tell me why he went through his arc TWICE in two series? Here's the reason: because Mr. Riordan didn't want to make any of the main cast gay <3 He did it for woke points, so he was like hey hold on what if. Instead of any combination of the FIVE new characters I introduced being gay... I can retcon my Straight Series so it looks like I'm far more inclusive!
Great job, Mr. Riordan. You have raised a bunch of rabid fans who like Nico now because he's Gay and not because at one point he was an innocent boy who loses everything and fights to find his way back home. His story in PJO was a large part of the Great Prophecy, and yet... all of that was washed away in order to make him Gay Gay Gay.
Percy and Annabeth, we know-- it's a travesty. Stupid Percy and Robot Annabeth we've been through this a thousand times fuck that shit but it's so disappointing because as readers WE know these characters. We know them from PJO where they were each their own person and they had some good moments but HoO effectively wiped off the super strong friendship they already had going.
4. A HALFBLOOD'S LIFE!!!!
WHY has that been cheapened to the point of a joke!! It's literally so insane like the first series is about how difficult it is to be a half-blood. Greek and Roman mythology are not as different as Greek and Egyptian, see, so TKC ad MCGA can afford to change up the rules but HoO can't. That's like. The whole point!! So to randomly say hey actually this group is perfectly fine and the reason they're living so well is because the Greeks aren't as organised is so offensive to the reader because up until now all we had was the Greek camp! He flips it over and then somehow blames US for being stupid enough to think that's the only way to live.... and still decides to give the Roman camp child soldiers?????????????????????????????????????????????? make it make sense im begging
5. The bloody GODS
What did HoO do. Like. What did it do.
Because I can tell you what PJO did. PJO was about the gods learning to hold themselves accountable for the lives they create, drew a parallel between mortals, demi-mortals and immortal beings and dissected the value of life. It was a learning curve for everyone involved: for Luke, for Percy, and for the gods he so unwaveringly served. That was the point. That Luke was right, that the gods were primarily to blame because they don't care enough about human life. That they don't even care about minor gods. They swore to change.
And HoO is like aha I know I made it a whole thing and it was a huge sacrifice on Percy's part because he was offered immortality in place of the gods being held accountable-- but sike they haven't changed, even ONE YEAR down the line.
It makes the ENTIRE first Great Prophecy a TOTAL joke. Like what was the point of ANY of that happening if the gods were jut going to revert to being the exact same???
6. Harrowing realities of war
According to the wiki, there were forty campers fighting at the Battle of Manhattan. Forty. That's how many demigods there were. Yeah, the Hunters helped and the party ponies also came in- but it was a small team of campers. Between BotL and TLO, I can think off the top of my head about Lee Mitchell, Castor or Pollux (whichever one) Charles Beckendorf, Michael Yew, Silena Beauregard who died. A lot of these characters have been mentioned before as well! And they died. Because children shouldn't be fighting a war, actually, and yet here they were, dying before they could apply to college. The finale was just this horrible moment when Silena dies and Kronos attacks Chiron and everything seems so bleak and it's when Annabeth loses faith that you know everything is going to change.
Meanwhile HoO is the most absurd final battle, I think, because if I'm being honest, I don't even know who the enemy is. First they're fighting giants then the gods arrive and Fix it for them and then they're fighting Romans and Greeks and then there's monsters in their armies? And SIKE it's actually Gaea who's the Big Bad and defeating her fixes everything as though ANY of that makes sense!! So what, then? All the work that they did in PJO- the friends they buried and the enemies they spared-- that is stupid, right, when you can just get some girl to come and scream "please stop fighting"? What is the point of the war then?
Just because it's more complicated.... doesn't make the writing good.
7. What Theme.
Percy Jackson is about finding your place in the world. It's about home and it's about hope and it's about knowing that you're never alone. That love is always the answer, that faith and belief are the only motivators and that all darkness can be defeated with light. Someoe tell me what HoO is about. Earth Bad, Teenagers Good? It's not even about bridging the gap between the Greeks and Romans which is what it ostensibly claims is the core of the series. Makes it feel like PJO was dumb to have a theme at all. <3
Look at the time lol
In summation,
PJO is a story. HoO is a bunch of scenes sewn together where every scene is designed to be more insane and also to consistently undermine everything that happens in PJO. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

okay as both a greek mythology nerd and a dc comics nerd i think that we should play more with greek myths for wonder womans storylines
like in og myths the amazons are daughters of ares (or at least the most notable queens are) and ares is their patron god bc hes the god of war and they are warriors
but depending on what comic/animated movie or show/live action movie you read/watch ares is often the main villain or first villain that diana faces or in a couple versions its hades while zeus is dianas father and/or hera grants the amazons themyscira
and if you dont know anything abt greek mythology this makes sense bc god of war or the god of the underworld seem like easy villains and the king & queen of the gods make obvious good guys but ares and hades in the myths largely mind their business (not always mind you but most of the time) while zeus is constantly acting a fool and hera is taking on her anger for her husbands actions against women/nymphs/minor goddesses who usually didnt have the power to refuse zeuss advances or were tricked by zeus in some way
and like hippolyta is a daughter of ares in the myths and diana is sculpted from clay and given life through magic so she could still be a demigod with all the training of the amazons plus magical weapons. i dont see why she needs to be zeuss daughter to be a powerful warrior/champion of the amazons
and even if dc wanted to go the route of like a goddess patron of the amazons instead of ares athena is right there. goddess of wisdom and war strategy. and the other two maiden goddesses artemis, goddess of the hunt and namesake of a very popular amazon character, and hestia, goddess of the hearth and the goddess who gives hippolyta the lasso of truth sometimes called the lasso of hestia. like the 3 maiden goddesses giving the amazons a safe haven from men makes more sense than hera the goddess of marriage and fertility who often victimizes women in the myths
and if you want a villain for diana to fight whos rooted in greek mythology and a god/goddess. instead of hades attempting to take over the world (tired) or ares god of war just wanting general destruction or being jealous of zeuss creation (boring): eris the goddess of strife is RIGHT THERE. or or nemesis the goddess of revenge the embodiment of anger, jealousy, envy, known to punish human gluttony
even in ww1984 the main villain ends up being a trickster god from mayan culture instead of using any of wonder womans own greek inspired villains or featuring any of the mayan heroes from dc (acrata is the only one i can think of off the top of my head)
in conclusion: more greek myth inspo that make sense in wonder woman stories

Tutoring is a Type of Hell
The prologue & first chapter of my contribution to the @pjo-hoo-bigbang. Special thanks to my editor annikao aka loveislarryislove.
(An AU crossover with "The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina". When she leaves the Hunt and starts maturing, Thalia's powers grow beyond her ability to control. But Chiron assures her help can be found if she's willing to make the trip to 'Greendale'.)
Everyone had told her that growing up would be an adventure, or that it wasn’t going to be easy, but for some reason they were all convinced that it would be worth it. Thalia, for a variety of reasons that were either super-depressing or more than a little strange, hadn’t expected to ever grow up. Like most half-bloods, her death seemed a continually close-by inevitability, right in the rearview mirror no matter how fast she traveled.
Thalia never was afraid of death, though. At least, not of her own. She had a moment on Half-Blood Hill as testament to that foolhardy boast, but even though she remembered the claws and teeth and menace that brought her low that fateful day, she was resuscitated as part of a drawn-out ploy. And even after that, even as she consigned herself to vows of immortality (or rather, eternal youth and vigor), she fully expected that a month or a century later she’d be killed all the same by a monster who proved clever enough, powerful enough, or just lucky enough to get the drop on her. That it was dependent on chastity didn’t bother her as much as other people might believe. What made her leave wasn’t a forbidden love or longing for a family; she had both and was prepared to lose both… no, it was staring down a long stretch of uncertainty, looking around old enough to be able to see ghosts of dead friends in every stranger’s face, reminders of everything she outlived, and always on guard in a world that became less a home every next tomorrow.
Her father understood, and so did her sister Artemis (eventually); the overwhelming melancholy that sporadically affected her brother Heracles at least once a century was proof enough that the Olympians knew the strain that immortality could impose.
She didn’t share the real reasons for leaving the Hunt with her friends at Camp Halfblood, or even with her brother Jason, despite how close they’d become since reconnecting. She didn’t want to admit the truth, none of them could begin to know how she felt. None of them knew what it was like to be a coward.
She had no trouble believing Annabeth knew her real reasons; the daughter of Athena was gifted and intuitive even by the standards of her cabin full of genius demigods. No, Annabeth probably knew, and Thalia loved her for never bringing it up. Jason didn’t care for the why, he was just happy that she wasn’t traipsing off in the wilds, growing more distant and unapproachable.
Those damn children of Aphrodite were still convinced her ‘defection’ from the Hunt was a triumph of ‘the power of love’, like all her anguish and existential dread could be boiled down to ‘she needed to get laid more than she needed to live forever’.
Now that she could date though, she could say with certainty it was more trouble than it was worth. Though sex at least was…
Ahem. Well, it wasn’t bad.
The rest of growing-up, though, that was the interesting part. What music was popular, how connected everything was, how fast the world moved and how much it demanded from someone just for living in it. High school diploma, driver’s license, job resume, bank accounts and a credit score, and even a bare minimum of social media so you didn’t look like a psycho or a ‘bot’, whatever that was… the first two years of being mortal again would’ve been overwhelming without friends to help her play catch-up with everything she missed, including some foolproof forgeries, a personal assistant to manage her social media profiles, and a rotation of tutors to help her earn her GED.
And just when she thought she had it handled, just when Thalia was certain she was hitting her stride… well…
Thanks to some glowing recommendations, including one from Sally Jackson (the sweetest, coolest woman in the world who Thalia wished was her mother more than once), Thalia was able to start a job working at “Sweet on America”, a candy store in Grand Central Station that leaned hard into its ‘gee aw shucks’ Americana, with homemade candies and patriotic red-white-blue colors in the uniforms that the employees had to wear. As far as first jobs went, Thalia knew it could be worse, and most of the people were polite in a ‘New Yorker bribed with candy’ sort of way. She didn’t even mind the uniform, even though she had to take out several new piercings and cover up some of her favorite new tattoos to keep up the ‘squeaky clean and wholesome’ image that the manager insisted on.
She was relaxed but she was focused, she was driven but she was content. There were no unresolved curses she needed to worry about, there weren't any gods she had offended with displays of hubris (apart from Hera who resented her for existing), so there was no reason why her ‘humors were unbalanced’ or whatever explanation the children in Cabin Seven tried to tell her was the issue.
But fact was, one day she sneezed and everything electric – not just in “Sweet On America” but in the whole of Grand Central – violently shorted out… including the train.
Tumblr media
“The terrible twenties,” Thalia repeated flatly. She refused to say it like she was asking a question, the stupid name told the whole story. She wasn’t asking Chiron to elaborate or clarify anything for her, she was demanding he make it sound even a little bit dignified.
“Yes, the name is perhaps a bit flippant,” Chiron admitted. “I know it sounds like a funny problem-”
“It doesn’t,” Thalia said sourly.
“-but it’s not,” Chiron finished resolutely. “Especially in your case. Every half-blood of sufficiently powerful heritage and legacy – such as yourself and your brother – will undergo changes when hitting their physical prime.”
“I’ve watched the educational videos,” said Thalia, crinkling her nose. Those particularly vague and unhelpful but still somehow salacious ‘demigod puberty’ movies were the stuff of persistent, tittering gossip around Camp Halfblood.
“Not those sorts of changes,” Chiron assured her, falling into his ‘educator’ tone. “Once a demigod begins to reach their physical peak, their powers begin to fully manifest in a unique fashion. Normally there would be an outlet for them to channel this excess energy, a prolonged quest or, unfortunately, an ongoing war.”
“Or they just die before then,” Mr. D said from his seat, lightly vibrating. Bunch of brown-nosing goodie-two-shoes at Camp had scraped together a collection and gifted the disgraced deity, sometimes acting Camp Director, a massage chair. He had been insufferably laid-back and contented in the damn thing, and somehow knew precisely who didn’t chip in to get him this latest offering. “Can’t forget them just dying before then, can we?”
Thalia was reminded exactly why she did not put aside some of her money from meager living expenses to help buy his luxury chair, and resignedly predicted that she’d not be getting any help from Mr. D in this matter. Not that her chances were good before then.
“Yes,” Chiron said slowly, disapproving. “Especially in the last few decades we’ve had particularly bad luck with all of the strife and misery, making it hard to keep half-bloods alive once they aged-out of Camp… normally the eldest surviving siblings would teach the younger, but there haven’t been children or legacies of Zeus in decades.”
“So I’m on my own,” Thalia surmised bitterly. “Like usual. Patient zero. Chiron, I can’t go out in public, be around people if I can’t control my powers. I can’t be around things if I can’t keep these powers under control – what if they goes off near, like, a hospital or an airport? Technology is all over the place now, and if I short some of it out people could get hurt. Really badly hurt.”
It was a small miracle that no one was hurt when the train had shut off, emergency brakes kicking in when systems started to fail. Come to think of it, ‘Sweet On America’ ended up doing good business that day as irritable and distressed New Yorkers finding themselves at a sudden stop decided to treat themselves, though the employees were annoyed by the extra effort required as the card reader had been shorted-out too and everything needed to be paid for in cash.
Chiron nodded sympathetically. When he next spoke, it was carefully and thoughtfully, to either break bad news or give hard advice. “Heracles was in a similar position to you long ago. People were hurt when his powers fully realized, and his were less impressive than yours. The entire world is less impressive for that matter, and less complicated too. I did my best for him as long as I could before his instruction and education was passed along to others, and his Labors and other deeds kept him active and helped him realize his full potential.”
‘You haven’t trained me,’ Thalia thought bitterly. ‘Most of my time spent at this Camp was as a tree, I wasn’t trained or protected.’ But then she saw the wry, self-deprecating smile on Chiron’s face and felt immediately guilty; he had probably heard it all before, from children far more unlucky than her, born in less civilized times with even less friends to help them.
“Your father has issued a special command to see you receive a measure of education,” Chiron explained. “Training to understand your powers and control them better, with a hand-picked instructor.”
Unbidden, Thalia found her eyes turning skeptically to Mr. D, her half-brother and full-fledged deity Dionysus, still luxuriating in his massage chair.
His half-lidded purplish eyes didn’t even glance in her direction but he seemed to feel her stare all the same. “Not a chance, Tallahassee.”
‘Yeah that tracks,’ Thalia thought, resisting the urge to short-circuit the chair and looking back to Chiron inquiringly. “Well then, who?”
She didn’t dare think that her father would be the one to come down from Olympus to teach her, having already discarded the imaginings of a child thinking Lord Zeus would disguise himself as a helpful old hermit or kindly mystery tutor to instruct her throughout all the difficult times in her life. No, Zeus worked by proxies and subtleties if he deigned to help her at all. Her resentment towards his absence had faded into a numbness that could be mistaken for acceptance, acknowledging that he had other duties to attend to, other responsibilities, an image to maintain, and Hera to contend with.
“Your father found a very knowledgeable scholar, further inland up the East Coast,” Chiron explained, searching in the pocket of his tweed jacket before pulling out a business card (calm-cloud-nine white with raised engraving and a tasteful watermark, it freaked Thalia out a bit how quickly she noticed all that) with directions written on the back in a tidy scrawl, her brain hardwired to instinctively read this Ancient Greek from Zeus’ own hand. “I must ask that you leave in the morning; we’ve arranged travel that should be both agreeable to you and that your fluctuating powers won’t disrupt.”
Thalia was touched by the gesture, and secretly glad they weren’t expecting her to fly. Even without the possibility of short-circuiting a plane, the thought of being that high… “Wait, what about, you know, my job? I can’t take time off after I just started-?”
Now Chiron looked amused. “I know you haven’t always received my most attentive care Thalia, but do you really think I wouldn’t be able to provide the means to look after your affairs? After everything you’ve done to help this Camp?”
“Yeah yeah, the Camp store will ‘inexplicably’ be stocked with an abundance of ‘Sweet On America’ candies and sugary junk,” Mr. D groused, his relaxed mood broken through by a surge of fresh irritation. “Like all these brats needed more energy…”
“They have wine gums,” Chiron said. “Claret, blackcurrant, burgundy, port…”
“And I say the gods shall bless ‘Sweet On America’,” Mr. D said grandly, leaning back in his chair with renewed good cheer and jiggling distractingly as the setting adjusted to accommodate him, causing Thalia to firmly shift her gaze back to Chiron.
“I’m sure at least one will,” Chiron said knowingly. As he handed the card to Thalia though, his tone turned serious once again. “It’s important that you don’t mention your history to this man. At least, not at length or detail. He does not know the full extent of your heritage, but what he does know is more than enough to help you. Any more might prove a complication, and your father is already risking much for your sake. Also, do not ask him about his own past or powers, just know that…” Chiron faltered, trying to find the right phrase or explanation and coming up persistently short.
This got Thalia even more intrigued rather than nervous, looking over the card, the directions leading to a place called ‘Greendale’, hardly a sinister-sounding locale. “Chiron? Is he dangerous?”
“He is safe, not harmless,” Chiron said with decisive finality, trusting that Thalia knew the difference (she did). “The troubling thing is that he’s markedly, ah, eccentric.”
Now that got Thalia to raise an eyebrow. “In what way?”
And to that, Chiron extended his hands in a way decidedly foreign to the ancient trainer of demigods and heroes, the universal ‘what can you do?’ gesture of one who long resigned to be in a state of confusion. “In every way.”

to complete the whole Sigfrid family set this next one is gonna be Paradox's mom.
JUST CAUSE IM A MAGE DOSENT MEAN IM A WIMP!
AINZ OOAL GOWN VS THORENDRESSA
Ainz Ooal Gown info:
Height: 7 foot 2
Weight: 124lbs
Weapons: Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown, Dual Greatswords, Sword and Shield, Magic
Strengths: Is the main character and the most powerful being in the Overlord universe, Immense strength (Manhandles anyone who challenges him, Threw a Dragon multiple times his own size, Wields his Dual Greatswords as if they were weightless, Pierced through Adamantine with Clementines Stilettos), Immense durability (Ainz has contemplated that each of his bones are stronger than steel, A Minion of his with the same damage reducing ability as Ainz survived a 3000 foot fall unharmed, No selled a barrage of attacks from Gu who could level a castle wall with a punch, Was unharmed by Clementine stabbing him through his eye sockets, Is even more durable with his Knights Armour), Supersonic speed (Is on par with the likes of Albedo in speed), Is a Master of both Magical and close quarters combat, Possesses a multitude of passive effects that aid him in battle (E.g. High chance to cause Panic/Confusion/Insanity/Instant Death in his enemies), Can sense other Undead Beings, Can freeze an enemy in place with a Time Stop Spell.
Weaknesses: As an Undead Ainz is weak to Holy and Fire attacks, Because of his Class restrictions Ainz cannot equip most Weapons and Armour available in his world, His most powerful Spell has a 100 hour cooldown, Cannot harm those trapped in his Time Stop Spell.
Thornendressa info
Height:6 foot (Human form) 12 foot (hybrid form) 13000 feet (Dragon form)
Weapons:teeth,claws,magic,Alchemist blade,Dawnsetter,dragonbone bow.
Strengths:as the mother of Paradox and his sister Whiteraven she's the one who taught them both magic and ranged combat. But she's by no mean a pushover. Demigod Strength(as a part god dragon she's much stronger then most others of her race. Strong enough to hurt gaints and titans once over powered a hecrotonceris which are mountain sized monster with 100 arms and turn mountains into piles of throwing pebbles. Easily overpowered gaints who threw mountains at her.) Demigod durability(as a part god dragon with magic coated scales she's impervious to most magic and weapon. The Ebony warriors who hunt dragons for a living and use dark magic to harm dragons barely hurt her. No selled Tsugus Demon Ice Molding Magic and Steel Dragon Slayer Magic both of which were created SPECIFICALLY TO KILL DRAGONS AND DEMONS.) Suprising speed (Despite being out of shape and past her prime she's still faster then most dragons and can out run her daughter who regularly deflects attacks from a man who can manipulate lighting and light.) Is a genius in magic and archery. Is a Suprising master in hunting monsters. Her dawnsetter and alchemist blades are created by her to kill monsters and the undead showing skills in enchantments and alchemy. Her bow being made of dragonbone is stronger then ebony bows which are nigh impervious to blades and magic. Her arrows are poisoned with dragon Silvia which is the 3rd most toxic thing in the realms and can hurt Paradox who can power through pretty much anything. As a purple dragon using Mirror and archive magic she can seal things and people away and reflect magic on top of using any basic magic that she has fought she can even use multiple breath attacks due to her time of eating monsters.
Weaknesses:as a purple dragon her powers are affected by her mood. The happier she gets the stronger her healing becomes. But if she gets angry enough her powers become pure Ather which means she can do nothing but destruction. While she can teleport through reflections it takes connection also she's put of shape far past her prime and she's the slowest of the family.

Reading Percy Jackson TLT was an ordeal for me 3 - Mythology
And here we reach the point where you can argue that this book was written for 12-year-old kids, not for me - someone who read this book for the first time in their late 20s and after studying both Classical Archaeology and History with a focus on Ancient History. And I will counter that while I don't mind reinventing old myths in new contexts, Riordan consistently leaves me with the impression that he just hasn't done his research and keeps pulling stuff out of his ass in The Lightning Thief. The whole treatment of mythology, for all he references specific myths, just winds up terribly inconsistent. And the thing is: I have read better Fantasy at 12 years old that holds up when I re-read it today. By people who made significantly less money and fame with it. Riordan's world does not hold up. Granted, the story around Pan's death making no sense because it's ripped from its lingual context may be a tad niche. But, for another tiny case example, claiming Romeo & Juliet, a couple of suicidal teenagers, are cozy Valentine's imagery does not bode well for Riordan's relationship to source material.
Goddesses whomst?
I'm not on board with his treatment of Greek goddesses in comparison with his treatment of the male gods. Once again, there's no consistency to it. Cue virgin goddesses? Artemis being a virgin goddess is a whole deal. There's an empty honorary hut for her at Camp Half-Blood, empty because she doesn't have any children of her own. Why would a goddess of the hunt and the wilderness care for a hut anyway? All of her myths play out in the forests and open landscapes. An empty hut? That doesn't gel with her mythological character at all. Neither does the only honorary hut for Hera. Why wouldn't Hera have demigod children? "She can't commit adultery; she's the goddess of marriage"? Zeus cheats on her nonstop! Is that just sexist? Possibly not, as Aphrodite gets to cheat on her husband on the regular and pops out kids on the side. But the argument of Aphrodite doing this canonically in her myths falls flat - because there are also myths out there in which Dionysos fathered the Charites on Hera. She is characterized as jealous, imperious, and vindictive. No one ever said Hera is faithful. Few gods are.
You know what god couple is notoriously faithful to each other? Hades and Persephone. I know for a fact that a later protagonist is a half-human son of Hades, so my take is that Riordan cherry-picks the parts of mythology he personally likes and just ignores the rest.
Case in point: He makes such a big point out of Hera's fidelity and Artemis' virginity... and then there's Athena. I won't mention Hestia here because Riordan didn't mention her so far, but Athena, who's mythologically even more famously a virgin goddess than Artemis (Artemis at least has the somewhat ambiguous connection with Orion and her close bonds to her huntresses that can be read as romantic, but mythological Athena is firmly on the eternal single trip). Except that doesn't fit Riordan's notion, so he conveniently ignores it without any explanation. There is zero attempt to make this fit! No "Erichthonios was actually her biological son instead of adopted, so yeah, she always had kids", nothing. She's just randomly the mother of Annabeth, and a few others. And George Washington. I almost spat out my tea.
Then again, I don't really care for the entire hut system anyway. Because it never explains what they do with the children of the lesser gods. Twelve huts. Uh-huh. Except every deity besides the Big Three is free to make children with whomever. So. Where do they put these? Eh, who cares. Only the children of the Big Three have significant powers, amirite. The rest are weaklings. Sure.
Excuse me? "A child of Aphrodite's or Demeter's is not likely to be very powerful" - ex-fucking-cuse me?? Both Aphrodite and Demeter are mythologically capable of kicking Zeus around like a puppet. The myth that is ostensibly about Hades and Persephone is actually all about the power struggle between Zeus, who gave Demeter's daughter away, and Demeter, who wants her daughter back. And Zeus is the one who has to give in. Because Demeter was about to kill the entire world! Her kids, harmless little flower children who don't even get credited with making strawberries grow? Not likely. This tastes so badly like sexism. Because I can't imagine any reason for Riordan to play down Demeter's power other than "nature stuff is flowers, flowers are girly, and girly is lame". She is literally all on earth that grows!
And Aphrodite? As a daughter of Uranos, she isn't even of Zeus' generation of gods. She is the one of the Olympians who is technically of the generation of the Titans. Zeus ain't telling her shit. She doesn't respect the marriage he arranged for her, she has gods fall in love with mortals all over the place, he was too afraid of her wrath to turn her down for the golden apple of Discord. Remember that little tidbit, that led to the Trojan War? And speaking of the Trojan War, there was that episode when Aphrodite gave Hera seductive power so as to distract Zeus. Zeus also asks her for help when he wants to seduce some unsuspecting human woman. The problem with Aphrodite is that, historically speaking, her myths are a stand-in for the power women were said to have over men, manipulating them into complying with their wishes. And somehow, this take manages to come across less sexist than Riordan's. Because it gives Aphrodite, love, and women power and agenda. Riordan? Yeah, according to him, Aphrodite and her children are useless and vain, and sit around all day looking into mirrors. As a goddess of love and beauty and passion, her domain, again, is of a culturally feminine connotation, and Riordan has interestingly not mentioned her early depictions as a Spartan goddess of war seems to look down on this domain - when most of her myths circle around how fucking dangerous it is that someone has all the power in the world to follow her petty, vengeful, fickle impulses. Her kids could be potentially very interesting - they could hold power over human emotions. But nah, they have make-up and... Gucci handbags? How can they afford those?? Does being a child of Aphrodite come with natural wealth?
You win some, you lose some
See, I don't get Riordan's version of Dionysos. He not only is inexplicably ugly, short and pudgy when neither the youth nor the adult depiction of him are shown to look like that; Riordan also throws a ton of goat imagery in there that might make a little sense with the satyrs. It makes none for Dionysos. Why would he be a goat? Because of the horns? Nah, honey, that's not how it works. Satyrs may belong to Dionysos' entourage, but the god who could have features of a goat is Pan. Dionysos is not Pan, and he's not Silenos either. Why does he make goat noises? There must have been a serious mix-up. The goat aspects, the short, pudgy build, the description of his face; all of that reads like either satyrs or sileni.
A part of the book I mostly genuinely enjoyed (at least once it got past the weirdly modernized entry area - a lobby with an elevator? Airport security? Oh, please, fuck off) was the Underworld. The vast part of it is fascinating and builds genuine tension. So I'm at a loss when both Charon and Hades suddenly whine about not having enough money these days. Just why. Would gods. Care for money?? Does Hades have to rent construction machines to expand the Underworld? Does Charon have to pay for human-made suits? Can he not just make himself look however he wants? Again, I don't get it.
I also don't get the part where Chiron goes: "Kronos only cared about your kind as appetizers or sources of easy pleasure." Yeah... as opposed to Zeus and Poseidon, who'd never abuse humans for their pleasure, right? The cherry-picking. It hurts. And the straw that breaks the camel's back is Riordan's Medusa.
Misuse of Medusa Myths
The part about Medusa actually managed to send me into a rage. Riordan failed to choose a version of the myth when making a choice would have been really good. Using both versions of the myth which have developed independently from each other has a result with a really bitter aftertaste. Medusa as Poseidon's ex-girlfriend? The episode in Athena's temple is infamously a story of rape. The whole point of that relatively late myth (it was written by Ovid, an early-empire Roman) was a cruel injustice of gods against mortals. It would have been better if Riordan had left her out entirely. She was supremely unimportant to the plot; it would have helped Poseidon's image not to mention her. Especially since the myth doesn't make sense the way Riordan throws it together with the earlier Medusa that actually has some agenda: He mentions that she has two sisters. So. The three Gorgon sisters were a thing? Then why is the version which ended with Medusa turned into a Gorgon over the whole raped-in-the-temple shenanigans also a thing?
Syncretism does not work that way
Riordan's treatment of Greek-to-Roman deity relationships was pretty much my first red flag in the book. Because he basically explains it as: Poseidon is Neptune, Zeus is Jupiter, Athena is Minerva, and so on. Which, y'know. Is now how syncretism works. The Romans inherited a ton of Etruscan gods way before they went and conquered Greece and assimilated all of their myths, mashing them together with their vaguely corresponding deities and smoothing over anything that didn't fit. Which was a lot. According to Riordan, it seems it was always the same Pantheon. He never mentions the shifts in characterizations and domains syncretism would have brought with itself.
Powers of Poseidon's Progeny
I have zero idea what to do with the powers the demigods inherit from their parents. They are so incredibly plot-convenient. One time, Percy has to get drenched in water to activate his self-healing; another time, he doesn't get wet at all when he dives into a river. He randomly knows the date and time when coming up from the underworld via the sea - what, does Poseidon's DNA come with an ingrained clock? Would have been nice to have at the Lotus-eater Casino. Once time, they say he takes naturally to the water; another, he just... makes fire under the surface. Whatever?
He also breaks the laws of physics, by the way. There's this: "I'd have broken my spine if I hadn't hit the soft sand of a dune" - I challenge Riordan to throw himself down on a pile of sand with a lot of momentum and then tell me how soft it was. Sand isn't fluffy or elastic. It's a ton of tiny rocks. And it behaves like rocks. There is zero give. But it's not like Percy is the only one; the laws of physics only apply to mere mortals, I guess. Annabeth during the boat stunt cannot only do highly complicated calculations regarding physics in her head in nano-seconds, she can apparently also watch the world around her in slow motion while the boat she's sitting in is hurled in high-speed against a gate. Her maths only make sense if she has hyper-perception. Then again, so does Percy, apparently, because he calmly observes that Annabeth was right with her calculations - while the two of them are flying through the air. Neat. More exposition on those absurdly heightened senses?
Where does that even come from?
For as much as I liked the part in the Underworld, it still has a ton of "huh?" moments for me. Like Percy randomly mentioning that he imagined Cerberos as a very specific, modern dog breed? But nah, he's actually a different, highly specific, also modern breed. Why would he.
Annabeth thinks Hades is "treacherous, heartless, and greedy" - how did she get that impression? Nothing in his myths points that way. He's more of the stern, dutiful variety, if you ask the Ancient Greeks. Heartless, that may be a valid interpretion. Treacherous? Sounds more like the Disney version. Or highly Christianized Satan imagery. Greedy? For what, exactly?
"Hades was the only god down here [in the Underworld] that mattered." Uh. Yeah, so. For someone who knows his mythology, Percy has apparently never heard of other chthonic deities. He even mentions Persephone! He even meets Charon! He's met the Erinyes, several times! But they don't matter? Does Thanatos matter, Gaia, Melinoë, Hecate? Zagreus? Dionysos in his Orphic cult? This is just dumb. The Underworld was always a collective effort project.
Persephone, "appeasing her husband's temper"? He hardly even has a temper to speak of in the myths! The only things that mythologically pissed him off was some idiot trying to abduct his wife, and some other idiot mistreating his co-deity Thanatos. Persephone has zero precedence for appeasing Hades. And making her out as that gentle, placating influence tastes like sexism again. Has Riordan never even read far enough to get to "the Mistress"? To "dread Persephone"? She's the Queen of the Dead, my dude; the euphemisms were not genuine titles of a lil' softie, she was called the friendlier names because people were frightened to invoke her.
And for stuff outside the Underworld: Annabeth explaining her arachnophobia with Athena's conflict with Arachne?? What? How does that work? Athena doesn't fear Arachne; she's far above her. But Athena's children are... apparently vulnerable to every spider on earth. Every. Single. Species. Is dangerous to them. Not matter how small and non-venomous. No, it doesn't make sense. Camp Half-Blood is mostly nature and huts among forest and fields; are you telling me there is not a single spider there? I also just don't like the attempt to rationalize a phobia with "there's bad blood between my family and that of [insert object of phobia here]". It has a smack of "at least she has a valid reason for her phobia!" Which, y'know. Is just shitty to people with phobias IRL.

albinism-awareness · 6 months
Note
So, I've already read up a bit on general albinism medical facts and stereotypes and such so I mostly want to ask for a vibe check on some magic/magic adjacent stuff?
I've got this dude that's basically the reason I did the research, he starts out as a witch/witch's apprentice*. This is overall a high-magic-ish world and most of the main characters are involved with some kind of magic (I also want to drive it home that it's a coincidence in-story; I assume it'd be a similar situation to "It's fine if your autistic character has magic, but be careful how you do it"?).
The thing I'm less sure about is that at some point in his early twenties he decides to fight a vampire**, which is a bad idea but one he actually does consult a seer about, who basically proceeds to lie to him because she decided that having someone functionally immortal who knows witchcraft and has been taught to protect the village and people in general since childhood would be great for a vague horrible thing she can kind of glimpse at? So she basically knowingly sends him to get turned into a vampire by a mad scientist vampire.
He doesn't stay one forever (he becomes a demigod eventually which undoes the whole "kind of undead" thing), but I understand that having a vampire with albinism could be kind of questionable even with the context of "these two things are completely unrelated, he's just really unlucky".
Overall he's generally a heroic if tragic character in the sense that a lot of huge responsibilities (Saving the world! Defeating god! Defeating another god!) get dumped on him by virtue of him being both somewhat more powerful than actual mortal mortals now and having the time to theoretically be able to plan things long term, but also to some degree because nobody else will deal with it. Also the whole "unwilling transformation and being forced to work together with the person that indirectly did it to him". I guess in a lot of ways he's almost a classic heroic archetype but with oodles of trauma and the soul crushing horror of being in a fight where your odds of succeeding are absolutely abysmal.
I think I'm good on most of the other pitfalls (he's not evil, has vision issues and uses a variety of accessability aids, mostly big hats, sunglasses and magnifying lenses and has blue eyes as a kid which later change to purple explicitly because of a magical things happening to him-something fairly common for people that get hit by that kind of magical thing), but this one I'm really not confident in.
*Basically, a kind of person that uses magic the way a chemist uses chemistry that doesn't rely on innate talent/magic power, which he has little of. He's pretty average/below average in that respect in this world.
**Vampires are generally integrated into society as a kind of super soldier for defense against all kinds of dangerous critters, though some go rouge and decide to murder people for blood rather than be provided through, I guess blood taxes but literally and not particularly sinister.
(so sorry for the late reply)
Dude! That sounds like an awesome story! :)
The only thing that I would ask you to reconsider is maybe something other than an albino witch? only because other than ghosts and vampires, witches are the number one stereotypical ‘creature’ that people compare people with albinism to because oftentimes in small tribes in Africa, people with albinism are thought of as containing mystical properties, thus are hunted for limbs, teeth, hair, eyes, etc. and are usually eaten/consumed. (Keep in mind this isn’t true for all African places, just really small tribes). But that’s the reason the witch thing can be seen as offensive.
And when it comes to fighting, keep in mind that if your character does have albinism, long range weapons would probably be out of the question because of our visual impairments, so long range weapons (guns, snipers, etc.) are likely out of the question. (I’m not sure if you gave them weapons, just putting down in general)
Hope this helps! :)

Ok so since @idle-skull already made a rundown of their OC, Lark, I figured I may as well make one for my own OC, as she’s closely related to Lark. If you want the basic lore/premise for our AU, go to their post and read that first. Alright, with that done, here we go.
Guinevere / Marian Sanguina / Vidua Leonis(Dornian Heresy timeline)
So Guinevere (her original name) was born in the lower levels of Wisterium, and was picked up by the Ladies of Wisterium at a very young age. As she grew, she had developed a very muscular figure, as well as growing quite tall (She was naturally 7ft tall, no enhancements or Starcrawler yet). Upon her “graduation” and drinking the blood of the Starcrawler, she grew even larger, comparable to even a powerful Space Marine in sheer strength.
Due to this, her role among the LoW was quite different from her sisters. It’d be rather difficult to disguise the 7 and a half foot stack of muscle as a maid or servant, so she instead often took the role of a bodyguard or enforcer during her missions. She also took part in assassinations much more than her sisters, as she could basically just smash the target’s head in and bolt out of there without a struggle. For reference, Guin is a few years older than Lark (around 5 or so), and while she doesnt like him much, she doesn’t have the same hatred that many of the other LoW have for him. To her, he's more like a shitty sibling that gets in trouble and comes home in a police car every couple weeks.
Once Wisterium was incorporated into the larger Imperium, Guin had been assigned, much like Lark, to spy on a primarch. However, as she hadn’t displeased Ursa in the way Lark had, Guin was assigned to a much more prestigious Primarch, Sanguinius (in the “canon” timeline. In the Dornian timeline she is assigned to the Lion, but we’ll cover that in another post). Under the name Marian, she was presented to Sanguinius as an elite bodyguard, and entered his service. But, as it turns out, “Marian” actually began enjoying her role. As someone raised to be a spy, she was used to her whole world, both undercover and back on Wisterium, being terribly cutthroat and dangerous, so meeting someone so kind and genuine like Sanguinius was an entirely foreign experience, but one she could certainly get used to. Their relationship moved slow, but it steadily developed into a genuine friendship, and then into something much more. However, Guin knew that such a thing would NOT fly with the LoW, she was careful to keep things hidden. She began to feed Ursa less important information, enough to keep him satisfied, but not enough to actually give him anything useful. At the same time, she began covertly planning out how she would escape the eyes of her sisters and eventually manage to finally have the life she wished with the love of her life.
She never got that chance.
The Heresy breaking out laid all her plans to complete ruin. By the time it was over, a (now pregnant) Guinevere was left with her husband dead, most of her sisters dead or missing, and a paranoid imperium hunting down the forces of Chaos, which included the LoW. And so, she fled out into the depths of space, abandoning “Guinevere” in favor of her identity as Marian, trying to raise her daughter quietly as she slowly healed from her grief. Unfortunately, things just couldn’t remain that simple. Lark, shortly after the death of Kurze, had made contact with her, asking for a favor. Lark had given birth to his third child, Nightingale. However, after the twins and Kurze’s death, he felt unfit to raise her, and begged Marian to take her. Marian agreed, taking the child and fleeing back into hiding. And so there she was. Hiding from the largest regime in history, raising her two demigod children.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok that’s her personal story. I may write more on Falxia and Gale, as well as her story in the Dornian continuity (her path is massively different in that timeline.)
Again, check out @idle-skull for Lark’s stuff, and be sure to leave any questions about Guin for me!

Kinda pissed the whole big 3 pact didn't have consequences.
Not like breaking an oath sworn on the Styx is said to be a worse fate than death.
Not like they swore on the Styx to not have kids and than 3 came along.
Those being Thalia, Jason and Percy.
Because Hazel, Bianca and Nico were all born prior to the pact.
But what if it did have consequences?
They made the pact because their kids were too powerful and we're a threat to mortals.
And this isn't said but I think Zeus in particular was afraid that a son child he sired could be powerful enough to overthrow him.
Like how Uranus overthrew Kronos who was than overthrown by Zeus.
Clearly the fear wasn't enough to stop Zeus.
Enter one Beryl Grace, the mortal star who managed to get the attention of both Zeus and Jupiter.
Giving birth to both Greek and Roman demigods.
Something that to my knowledge hasn't happened anywhere else in the series.
And without letting anyone knowing abd getting the biggest I told you so in history, Zeus has to deal with this.
Hera finds out because of course she does.
And offers Jason to Lupa, the wolf goddesses.
While Thalia runs off when she's old enough, Hades founds out and is very sore after the whole Maria Di Angelo incident sends a monster after her.
She almost does but Zeus saves her by turning her into a tree.
And when she's free she joins the hunt.
And the fates are pissed that Thalia being of the hunt is shielded by Artemis and they cannot intervene.
But there's still one unexpected item in the bagging area: Jason
(I'm well aware of Percy but the fates saw his life and went yeah it's gonna suck enough let's leave this one.)
Jason who has been abandoned by all he loves to the literal wolves.
A child, little more than a baby being trained by the wolf goddess himself.
Perfect.
Jason gets older and stronger, he goes to Camp Jupiter and is made Praetor.
He goes on quest after quest in service for the God's.
But instead of unwavering loyalty and being happy simply to serve the God's, as expected, Jason feels empty.
Because if there's one thing Jason wants, more than thing in the world.
It's to have a family.
He adores the people of Camp Jupiter but their almost colleagues, acquaintances.
United under their existence and mission to serve the God's.
His only true friend, Reyna is distant, she is a companion he is happy to have in his life but their relationship has always been professional.
And she's made herself clear that she doesn't agree with his want for family. That it's kind of ridiculous.
Jason snapped at that, saying it was easy for her to say as she had her sister Hylla.
Though they didn't see much of each other, Hylla still visited camp and both were close.
While he had no one.
It was one of the only times Jason had gotten angry at her.
And while taken aback, Reyna apologised. Though it only reminded Jason how lonely he truly was.
People at Camp spoke to him, sparred with him but it was like he was a star.
Something to be looked at in awe but couldn't be approached because it was out of reach.
Jason refuted that he was better any of them, even putting himself in the lowest cohort just yo be seen as anything but that.
His efforts were futile.
Jason had been claimed his first day of Camp.
And since than he'd been rendered untouchable.
He hated it more than anything.
And than Jason began to dream.
Dreams the fates slowly fed him while whispering in his ears that he did have a family.
His father claimed him, so he knew of him.
His family, his father was waiting for him.
No God's entered Camp Jupiter of course so the only way was to meet him in Olympus itself.
He dreamt of marble floors, of a man on a throne who shared his electric blue eyes.
Hand outstretched and a warm smile, welcoming his son to his side.
A father, the fates whispered your family.
You can have all you ever wanted.
And Jason craved that.
He wanted it more than anything.
And they knew it.
Jason gave in.
He sneaks out of Camp without anyone seeing him, following the path from his dreams all the way to the Empire State building.
The usual guard isn't their and from his dreams Jason knows how to access the 600th floor.
It's exactly as his dreams looked.
And their, their was his father in all his glory atop his throne.
Jason can't help the smile on his face.
He's done it.
Finally
Finally he would have the family he always wanted.
He marches to his father's throne, dropping to a bow and announcing himself as Jason Grace, son of Jupiter and that he's so happy to meet his father, so honoured to meet him.
When he looks up.
The smile he expected is nowhere to be found.
His father is enraged.
As are the rest of the Olympians.
"A son?! You, you dare berate me brother for my own offspring while you've been hiding your own!"
"Son of Jupiter?"
"How did he get here?!"
Tells of outrage and anger echo throughout the room but none are as mad as the God before him.
"You... Insolent child dare to approach me. You dare to come to Olympus, to what? Intimidate me?"
Jason shook his head frantically "No no I only wanted to meet you... I'm your son."
Why... Was this going so horribly...?
Zeus sneered at him "I don't know what you think you are doing here, but if you think for a second you belong in my presence you are sorely mistaken. You are nothing, not to me not anyone else."
And something.
Something in Jason snapped.
His dream, everything he ever wanted burning before him.
He laughed.
It was loud.
Hysterical.
He even had tears in his eyes.
"All this time... All this time they say, your father is the mighty Jupiter. Your father is a King amongst men, the vanquisher of Kronos."
He laughed again.
How wrong they were.
How wrong he was.
"I wanted nothing more to meet my father, this mighty king... And you, you are just a pathetic man with a paper crown."
Silence swept the throne room.
Zeus stood before Jason, enraged didn't even capture just how angry he was.
But Jason found he didn't care.
He was angry.
The being he'd served his whole life was not the great King he'd thought him to be.
His fathered towered over him but Jason didn't back down.
He'd been lied to.
All his life he was to serve his father, his whole life he'd served his father and he didn't even want him.
He didn't love him.
Jason questioned if he ever could feel love.
His life meant nothing.
"You... Insolent!"
Jason didn't hear the rest of the speech.
Not before a bolt of lighting flew at him.
Instinctively Jason threw up his arm, reaching out for the Bolt.
It stopped.
It swerved.
And made a dent in his father's throne.
Jason looked down at his hands in shock.
Before chuckling "is that, all you've got?"
That... That was the infamous Master Bolt?
His father truly was nothing like he'd been famed to be.
If a lowly Demigod like Jason could swat his prized weapon like a fly.
No one had ever made it to Olympus without being detected.
They hadn't even noticed him until Jason announced himself.
They were pathetic.
How... How had he spent his whole life training, serving them.
"Is this why you require demigods?" Jason thought out loud "your weapons are nothing but relics collecting dust. Your feats are nothing but stories. Your power, nothing but a distant memory."
Jason almost pitied them.
Almost.
"So you spawn demigods to do your dirty work, your chores for you because you can't." He snorted.
They were nothing.
They were nothing so they trained their young to do their bidding.
Ignored... Alone...nothing but the fantasy of serving their parents who didn't care for them at all.
Fury.
"How dare you!"
"Oh I dare, all your good for is screwing a mortal and sitting on your backsides! I've lost friends! I've lost so many comrades on your stupid quests!"
A coldness settled in him.
A surety amongst his fury.
"I've lost my childhood, my life for beings who wouldn't care if I lived or died. They'd just bed another mortal and sent the fetus off to battle... And I won't lose any more for you."
Their was defiance in Jason's eyes as he eyed his father.
His father who looked at him with pure rage.
"If you do not silence that demigod Zeus... I will"
Jason didn't bother to see who spoke.
"No, this is my mistake and I will correct it."
"What are you gonna do, smite me? Gonna have to get one of my many... Many siblings to pull your bolt out for you."
Zeus snarled, but Jason was raised by wolves and simply scoffed.
His father blasted him.
Those watching would say it blew the egotistical demigod to smithereens.
Others say he transported himself elsewhere.
Hades himself vertified that the boys soul had not entered his domain.
Jason left, changed.
His yearning for a family had been stamped out.
He was nothing but a tool.
A soilder.
But now, now his sword wasn't pointed to monsters.
But the God's themselves.
They'd stole him.
They'd stole his dream.
They'd stole his childhood.
They'd stole the lives off their own kids to further their goals.
And Jason.
He watched as the crumbled throne of Krios reformed around him.
He sat atop it.
A smile on his face that was all teeth.
Teeth stained with ichor that he licked from his lips.
He was going to destroy them all.
And the fates they smiled upon him.
Their work here was done.

Guardians [Muse List]
Tumblr media
Garrett Thomas - A high school student who went from being the popular star football player to being the most skilled member of a group of peacekeepers, the Guardians. Thrust into this life without a say in the matter, his former life was abandoned unintentionally to serve a greater good; this includes people in his life, and after five years, his disappearance and the seeming death of his parents, leave him an unsolved mystery, he returns five years later with a mission and to piece his old life back together. Chosen warrior of the Greek Goddess Artemis. He possesses great skill and has the supernatural ability to shift into a massive wolf.
Tumblr media
Scott Parker - Scott is a Guardian and is a demigod, the son of Zeus. He's a bit of hot head and overconfident, but when he actually thinks things through, he can be a pain in the ass for anyone that takes him on, including Garrett, who he's befriended. He has a strained relationship with Zeus, he hates how his father doesn't think he's ready to fully embrace his godhood, and that frustrates him to no end. He's also a bit of a womanizer.
Tumblr media
Ellis Walker - A mutual friend of Garrett and Elizabeth, she's part of the popular crowd but, as she says, 'uses her popularity' for the forces of good; what that entails not many know, but she's got a good heart. She sticks around for E's sake after Garrett vanishes, at first to defend Garrett, stating that something happened, but when it becomes clear they are no closer to finding out what happened, she becomes Elizabeth's closest friend. And when Garrett lands back into their life, she is very distrusting of him and thinks he's just like every other jock, an asshole who takes what he wants and leaves.
Tumblr media
Phil - Garrett and Scott's mentor, he taught them everything they know and was the closest thing to a father figure for both, even with Scott very aware of his actual father. He puts the boys through tough training regimes to keep them at the top of their game. A former member of the Guardians, he's stepped down to serve as mentor and medium for the Gods. He also mentored Zeus' son, Hercules.
Tumblr media
Zeus - The King of the Olympians, Elizabeth's biological father, a fact that was kept from him, not knowing about her existence until she's put in danger and learning of Garrett's former connection with her. He started the Guardians centuries ago as a means of protection not only from Cronus, his own father, but evils among the realms. Zeus is considered very powerful, but as the gods rarely involve themselves in the affairs of mortals, but there are exceptions. He is the one that personally enlists Garrett to protect his daughter.
Tumblr media
Artemis - Zeus' daughter, the Goddess of the Hunt, and the one who enlisted Garrett as a member of the Guardians. She is the one that awakened the beast form in Garrett, and she alone can communicate with Garrett while he's in his wolf form. She's much more involved with mortals than the other gods, as she doesn't believe in standing on the sidelines. Her archery and sword skills are second to none.
Tumblr media
Cronus - Zeus' father and the biggest threat the realms face. His goal of destroying defiant realms since Zeus took over as ruler of Olympus has been his main focus. He's responsible for most of the darkness in the world. There is a prophecy that a member of Zeus' bloodline will be the one to finally defeat him, and he's been on the warpath ever since. Being a god and main Titan, he's crazy powerful; to challenge him without the aid of a god would prove foolish.
