oh wow this is a really interesting question. i don't know if i've ever been asked it before?

okay so i'm the kind of person who memorizes poetry for fun (altho i do have to like...work on them? it's been a little while since i've worked on any so they're all a little shoddy), and so i have quite a few poems i like a lot. "about the weather" (andrea gibson), "crossing the bar" (alfred lord tennyson), and "heartbeats" (melvon dixon) are some i really like, but...

"i sing the body electric, especially when my power's out" (andrea gibson) is by far my favourite poem.

For the record, if you have ever done anything for attention, this poem is attention, title it with your name

i've had those lines etched onto my soul since i first heard them.

(honourable mention: "[i carry your heart with me (i carry it in]" by e.e. cummings. it's one i still have memorized, and i really, really adore it. when i left for college, the very first time, i sat out on the porch and recited it to myself quite a few times. it iddn't make the list because it's very bittersweet for me.)

back onto andrea gibson (easily my favourite poet), i have to mention that i do like walt whitman's "i sing the body electric" as well. but. yeah. gibson really, really speaks to me a lot of the time. their relationship to love is something i find very, very familiar, and i could rattle off poems of theirs i love (i wrote an essay on "about the weather" because it just.

heat rises but heat rises the same way people do. Because it has to. I think the heat would like to rest sometimes, don’t you?

and sometimes you are sixteen and would like to rest sometimes), but i sing the body electric (...) has spoken to me for a very, very long time. like. just reading it over to pick a few quotes for this ask made me tear up.

what lies beneath the facade? an observation of kazui mukuhara's face

my attempt on trying to analyze kazui's feelings! (not sure if this has been pointed out yet im sorry if someone made a similar post. this post has very, VERY brief/minor discussion of sui btw)

im sure we all know by now that this is kazui's true feelings about his marriage; he hates it, and shows a self deprecating smile to the audience. i think, that the right side of his face where his bangs are longer is where kazui shows his true feelings to us. im gonna put some scenes where i think it's the most damning (while there are other pics I think applies, they may look like im reaching a little, so I won't share those). this is why in some scenes in half/Cat, you may notice that Kazui's expression can look unnatural where this observation is at play.

hell, even in the Cat album cover here, he covers the side of his face where his bangs are longer. this man is trying his best not to show anyone what he really feels. letting the door itself do the talking, so why should he? signifying that he at least, cannot wait what to show Milgram, to show us, what secrets are behind that door. (but also channeling an air of uncertainty doing so)

as well as in Undercover, i think it's very interesting that the creators make it a point to show both halves of kazui. when his mugshot gets taken, both of his sides are shown to us. one where he's smiling, and one where he's not. notice how his left side is where he's grinning and his right side is where he's serious?

we only catch his serious expression with one glimpse before he realizes he's being observed and quickly shows us a smile. (then during that scene where they show us which location correlates to which prisoner, the light is shining on the right side of his body. also, kazui is the only prisoner where they show both of his side profiles. the others show 3/4 of their faces)

this next one really gets me a lot. the most clear cut observation that tells us the other half of his face is where he expresses his true self.

he tears up for one split second, a ball of teardrop forming on his eye. what was something on that stage that made him so emotional?

then he quickly looks away to see something else catching his attention (which was the apple) after he stood up and looked forwards, kazui genuinely looks shocked/surprised.

knowing this observation can also give us a different perspective to some other scenes in half. like this one:

his wife touching his right side of his face. multiple questions pop up in my head when i see this scene.

was she ready to hear kazui out? was she catching onto him that he was hiding a secret/hiding his feelings? or was she trying to comfort that side of his face, as if she was saying "whatever it is you want to tell me, im sure i can handle it." to him?

hinako tries to understand him. tries to "grasp" his true face, his "true self". but kazui can only give a weak, depressing grin, as he gently puts her palm away, balling his fingers around hers. he doesn't know if she's actually ready for it. even though she's gentle with how she holds his "true side".

as we all know, before they zoomed in to this shot of kazui putting her hand down, their silhouettes were blurry. if you weren't close enough, you almost thought she was choking and suffocating him. not only kazui felt like the marriage made him feel like he was in a rut, he was afraid of hinako "suffocating"/disliking his true feelings (or side), even though she is holding it with care. hence why he was putting her hand down.

of course we know it didn't turn out the way he wanted it to turn out, from the next scene here.

kazui is clearly depressed towards the outcomes. at the end of half, his right side is not very happy at all, despite his left side making it look like he's grinning.

everything is all a mess now.

cat:

after finding out hinako wanted to "touch and caress", kazui genuinely seems interested in this thought and was sincere about what he was feeling here, so he pursues her in hopes those feelings are fulfilled. interestingly, the lyrics "so, it's wrong?" are on the screen when he shows the camera his right side.

when he proposes to her, he still remains looking at her in this direction, although we can't see how his expression looks like. unfortunately for hinako though, this is the last time kazui ever looks at her on this side.

during the confession scene, his right side is blocked by the cup, so we actually don't know what he was feeling completely when he asked the question.

after this scene, we can finally see his right side again, but it's well hidden by kazui blocking that side of his face with a hand and cigarette. giving us a sense of mystery of what transpired after he asked the question.

kazui is entertaining his wife with magic tricks while showing his left side to the camera. his "fake" side is what he wants to show to her and to all of us.

but his left eye squints as he realizes about his dream. his left eye squinting is telling us that his fake side is breaking apart. then, kazui drops down to his knees. take note of the rope falling down on his left lap. after getting back up (from what seems like kazui stumbling from drinking 4 cups of alcohol), he rubs the right side of his face. he is really frustrated with himself here.

with all of the information we have so far, we can interpret this as kazui desiring to remove his fake, other half of himself (this is the only object we don't see when kazui is showing off his magic tricks, and ropes can be associated with suicide). he is given a choice to remove his left side, his false side, which is why that rope fell down that direction.

as he's about to tell hinako the truth, he transitions from

> lighting a cigarette, his eyes hidden from us

> kazui facepalming himself. as a smoke in a shape of a noose is formed. remember the rope i talked about earlier?

even though the rope initially landed on his left lap, the noose is angled to his right side. he's grasping his right side of the face as well. this, here, is kazui being ashamed of his "true self". if he could, he would want to remove his true self if it meant having to keep lying to people, or if it meant making people happy. kazui is going through with telling hinako the truth, while this scene tells us he is hesitating to do so and is 100% expecting for it to hurt him and her.

> he lets down his hand.

showing hinako and us, the audience, a very unique expression where he's snide, mischievous... almost mocking, yet at the same time, really depressed and frustrated with it all. from hinako's pose in half touching kazui's "true side", this is his answer; she is not going to like it one bit.

a stark difference in feelings. kazui looks like he's going to say or do something harmful, but his other side tells us otherwise. he didn't want things to be like this. also, it contrasts with the final scene in half very well.

when he bites on the dove, he doesn't look that satisfied doing so.

in this climax, it seems like kazui himself doesn't know what's what anymore, letting the adrenaline of telling his feelings take over him. letting both his "true" feelings and his "lying" self beat him up, because at this point of no return, what difference will his fake and real self make anyway?

i really love how we can't tell if his bloodied lips are frowning because he's shocked, distressed, or if he's grinning ear to ear, happy and glad to have finally told the truth. even in this scene you can tell that the right side of his lips is less happy than his left where his mouth is more elevated and smiling.

what does he feel now after all of this chaos? well, let's look back at his right side of his face again...

the MV ends with this shot of his right eye, slowly zooming in.

empty, emotionless, forlorn, and distant...

it's almost like he's staring and watching something at the sky after something fell down.

So, I'm just going to say it: Bible does not look hot in those Elle shots. He looks like a cry for help and like he needs about three months off, doing nothing but resting.

Given some of his other recent material, I was wondering when heroin chic was going to be back in fashion, but I guess Elle's going to go the victim of violence route instead. Maybe the full spread will provide some context that makes their supposed "Rocky" vibe plausible (doubtful), but I'm not seeing that kind of energy in what we've seen so far. This shoot isn't a guy who's got back up no matter how many times he was hit. This is a guy who's been dragged up by a goon on either side, so somebody else could take another swing at him. They've also missed - or avoided, depending on intention - the St Sebastian style eroticization often given to brutalized male bodies, because desaturated grimdark might be edgy, but it's antithetical to the surface beauty that shines against the surrounding brutality and creates the implicit conflict necessary for that vibe. This is the flat grey of a dreary winter day. Or a mugshot. Or depression.

Needless to say - or maybe not so needless - this shoot is also in questionable taste, given developments Bible's been adjacent to in recent months, and I ... am avoiding thinking about what kind of insinuations Elle might be playing around with, like a 4-year-old with a loaded gun. I also have to wonder how potentially triggering some of these photos of Bible looking like an ad for a domestic violence hotline might be for some people.

I would be extremely interested to know the extent of Bible's input on this concept, if any. But honestly, if I wanted to see him looking miserable and beaten down, I could just look at that candid of him sleeping in the van he posted recently to IG, looking like he'd been dragged out of a swamp. That wasn't hot, either, and I certainly don't need it glossy between the pages of a magazine in an attempt to flog fashion.

I'm not immune to the appeal of Bible playing sadboy hours. I'm certainly not immune to the appeal of him looking roughed-up, given my reaction to the Unique spread back in the day. This isn't that. It's either a poorly thought-out, badly designed, uncreative, badly lit shoot on what barely qualifies as a set that wastes Bible's talent and would have been deadass boring if they hadn't gone for shock value - and he deserves better than those kinds of cheap tricks. Or, if I give it the extreme benefit of the doubt, because not all fashion shoots are actually about looking attractive and some are pretentious enough to have a Vision, it's trying to say something (with varying levels of success) - something very different from "look how hot I am in these cool clothes."

In neither case is it hot.

I should clarify that the mugshot meme and Snowcone going to jail wasn’t intended to be canon, even though such a drastic measure definitely isn’t out of character for her. (Maybe you already know this and are just playing along, I can’t decipher the tone /lh)

In the scenario where this does happen, though, yeah her parents would be very upset at her. Twilight would go into one of her classic freakouts, not only getting lost in the implications of Snowcone’s crime but also overthinking the sociopolitical ethics of bailing her out vs. making her face the consequences. In the end she would bail Snowy out and pay off her fines, but then she would force her to undergo extra intense friendship/community training to understand why it’s bad to threaten somepony’s safety like that, even if it’s to protect a very close friend.

To which Snowy responds, “yeah like you sent some kid to Tartarus and then got her turned to stone?”

Tempest actually has a criminal record so she would be PISSED that her daughter is also going down that kind of rabbit hole, but for what she sees as the absolute stupidest reasons. Even more that Snowcone isn’t all that remorseful. Cue the classic screaming arguments, slamming doors, grounding, and also heated discussions with Twilight about whether her friendship training idea is really enough to make their filly see the light. Plus her own mother was “imprisoned” in a sense so I think that added angle would make the whole debacle a bit triggering for Tempest.

But wasn’t Snowy doing this all for love? It’s no different than Uncle Shining and Empress Cadence using their love powers to blast the changelings into oblivion! Why is everyone being so hypocritical? /j

The Bees Made Honey in the Lion's Skull Earth 2008, Southern Lord (Bandcamp)

The most money I’ve ever spent on a vinyl record is on the stupid fucking quadruple LP Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness boxed set, but that was only because I allegedly scuffed the first track on the first side of LP1 of my friend’s copy while putting it away at a party, so I had to buy him a replacement and got his old dinged one—but I’ll write about that another time. The most money I’ve ever spent on a vinyl record I wanted was on Earth’s The Bees Made Honey in the Lion’s Skull, and specifically on one of the editions bound in faux Bible leather that Southern Lord reissues from time to time. From the first time I heard the record back in 2008, from the first time I read the title really, Bees has held a strange fascination for me. Despite being a broke college kid, I ordered a Bees Made Honey hoodie using my first credit card and hemmed and hawed over whether to snag the leather record, though I didn’t even know how to use a turntable. I didn’t end up actually scoring a copy till more than a decade later, by which time I’d already pretty well carved the thing’s grooves so deep in my brain I didn’t need to listen anymore to hear its contents.

Still, there’s the pleasure of handling it, opening up the gatefold and reading the hoary language in elaborately-filigreed gold text:

I grew up just religious enough to really fear God and love His language, especially as filtered through all the fantastical art that’s borrowed the diction of the King James Version to command a sense of gravitas. It’s a tone of voice that still compels me, and it’s the perfect dressing for this era of Earth’s looming, desertified music. Starting with 2005’s comeback Hex; or Printing in the Infernal Method, Earth has been working on a form of Western-inspired instrumental post-rock that looks to the Bible and fire-and-brimstone writers like Cormac McCarthy for words to match the weathered lurch of Dylan Carlson’s lithic guitar. Bees continues this direction, and it’s broadly considered the best of the band’s later efforts: something elemental captured in the songs; extra pristine production; sterling contributions from Steve Moore on a variety of pianos and organs, plus famed jazz guitarist Bill Frisell; and above all the languid pulse of drummer Adrienne Davies, the sheer weight of her pauses (best exemplified on the title track).

When Davies joined the band in 2002, she became the long-term musical partner Carlson had never really had, and her playing has become as distinctive a signature of Earth’s sound as his. In the exhaustive 2023 documentary Even Hell Has Its Heroes, her interview is the most enlightening from a musical perspective. An amateur when she began casually jamming with Carlson, she soon found that all of the drumming instructors and guides she consulted emphasized focusing on how to refine the angles of her playing, minimizing the time and effort required to play a beat. But for Davies, playing in a band whose rhythm swells and resides like the breathing of a massive steer, this advice ran counter: her arms wave in slow, swooping arcs, drawing out the tempo in the air before falling into the drums, letting gravity provide the consequential force.

Despite the band’s mugshot stares and stupendous volume, that signal phrase holds: “from strength sweetness / from darkness light.” There’s no violence in this songs, only some obdurate quality of endurance; no aggression, only flickers of the transcendent among the amps. That’s the notion embedded in its title, a nourishing work transpiring within sinister ruins.

“Huh?!” Snake snaps out of his little paranoia trance.

“D-..we’re you…ssssaying ssssomething..?” Snake looked at Liam with confusion.

Liam was worried for him, “Well.. yeah. You looked a little ‘out of it’ is everything alright? You ok?” Snake reassured him, “no no, it’sss fine…I just got a little…distracted.”

Liam took one bite from his curry and looks back at Kotaro’s Mugshot on tv, he seemed to notice that this news report didn’t catch Snake’s full attention until after they said his name.

“Hey, Snake.. uh.. look, I’m not trying to assume anything but..does it have anything to do with that Kotaro kid-“

“Look. Don’t mention him, don’t….

Don’t mention Kotaro. Ok?” Snake shivers, trying not to lash out on him like he did with Ace.

Now a very confused Liam wants to find out why he wouldn’t want it mention the kid, but still respects his boundaries and keeps his mouth shut as he continued eating his curry.

“Mm!” Liam hums, satisfied. “You really know how to make curry, huh?”

“Heh, thanks..” Snake smiles.

“Uh, excuse me…”

A few more customers came and went and stayed for a little while for a quick lunch. It was surprising that Snake could run a grocery store and cook in a restaurant at the same time.

May around 7:36 Snake closed the shop and it was time to go back home, he unlocked his bike and rode it back home. As he rode back home he couldn’t get Kotaro’s mugshot out of his mind.

He arrived at his house a few minutes later and put his bike in the garage, he then walks out of the garage and into the hallway and met with Claire and his siblings, Claire was playing dolls with Grace and Kenji was drawing on the couch while watching (or listing to) tv.

“Hey guysss!” Snake waved.

“Hey.” Claire smiled.

“Huh? Oh, hey.” Kenji said.

Claire stood up, “How’s the shop been?” She asks.

“Great, sssame asss alwaysss” he replied.

He pulled 10$ out from his pocket and handed it to Claire. “Thanksss for taking time out of your day to watch them.” Claire took the money and said, “oh, it’s no problem! I love them, their like my little siblings, I’m an only child.. so they’re pretty much the closest thing I have.” Claire said, heading for the door, “I’ll probably see them tomorrow?” “Sssure! They’ll be excited.” Snake said.

“Bye, everyone!” Clair said.

“Bye Claire!” The kids said.

As the door shuts, Snake looks back at his siblings.

“Alright, time for a bath.”

Blair starts running around, reluctant to take a bath. “No!”

Kenji laughs as Snake chases after her, “Blair!!” He said.

Claire walks along the sidewalk, the moon shining, the sky, grey, the stars ou-

I speak a lot about Paul's success in running the Paul Drake Detective Agency (see here, here, here, here) and how so much of his work comprises of things you don't see, but are no less important (see here, here, here, here, here).

But there's another aspect to Paul's job that is extremely public facing and worth talking about. This public facing role is Paul having to deliver news to his clients, including news that might not always be what they were hoping to hear.

The thing about Paul's line of work is that a successful outcome for the Paul Drake Detective Agency (such as finding people, finding things, verifying pasts, tracking movements, etc.) doesn't always translate to happy endings.

It's entirely different from what we're used to in Perry's line of work. We (nearly) always see Perry defend his client and prove the truth, and the outcome of that defense is (nearly) always that his defendant who was wrongfully convicted has now been proven innocent and everyone is happy at the end.

Sometimes, Paul's outcomes mean delivering bad news where there isn't a happy ending, and it is in those moments that we really see Paul shine as a person.

For example, I recently watched an episode where Paul was doing investigative work for a client who wanted Paul to find out whether images of his new wife's mugshots and finger prints were real. These images were presented to his client in the form of blackmail. Obviously, the client hoped that Paul would find out the images were, indeed, a fake and that his wife did not have a criminal past.

At the consultation, Paul agreed to help and said he'd find out the truth on the matter. He obtained a fingerprint sample from his client's wife (without anyone noticing!) and worked with his connections to verify the fingerprint samples.

They were a match. Once he had the match, Paul was able to find more information about the client's wife, including his wife's real name (she was presently using a different name), her crimes, where the crime was committed, how long she was in jail, etc.

And he has to present this information to his client. But Paul doesn't just lay down the results and wipe his hands of it because the job is over.

Instead, we see him meeting with his client and going through each individual paper record he obtained. He explains everything! For example, Paul shows his client a blown up image of the fingerprint from the blackmail images compared to a blown up fingerprint of the match found in police records. Paul explains that he went through himself and marked each point of similarity in the prints for his client. There were 15. He explained to his client that in the court of law, you only need 12 points of similarity to prove a match.

And he does all of this in a way that is calm, non-judgemental, and empathetic. He also does this in a reassuring way that the client knows that despite the bad news, the Paul Drake Detective Agency was thorough, diligent, and exhausted all resources to ensure that the information provided is the truth. Paul knows it's not the news his client wanted, and he takes care in delivering that news.

And I think that shows us a big sign of who Paul is as a person. He's not just a successful detective running a successful agency full of operatives all over America. He's also a person connecting with people and being there for them, even if the news isn't great. And most especially when the news isn't great, Paul takes the time to be with his client.

I emphasize so much that the Paul Drake Detective Agency is so successful because Paul and the operatives who work for him are damn good people at their job. But this right here? This is also another reason why the Paul Drake Detective Agency is so successful. It's an agency that treats people like people. If you come to the Paul Drake Detective Agency, you're not just going to be a name on a paper or a case number. You're treated with respect and valued. And that is going to put a lot of merit on Paul as a famous detective running a successful agency.

I actually made mechanics on how the characters that should be in ultimate custom night work for Funtime Freddy and Bon Bon you click on the mugshot to have them both alternately separate mugshots then you click on Funtime Freddy mug shot again to have them back together.

Here are the mechanics

Golden Freddy Fazbear- He will randomly appear at the right side of the office. You have a short amount of time to flip the monitor up and down to prevent him from jumpscaring you and if you don’t flip the monitor up and down after a short amount of time he’ll jumpscare you and crash your game.

Endoskeleton 01- He will appear at the left hall coming to your office. If he gets close to the left door shut the left door to prevent him from jumpscaring you. If you don’t shut the left door he will come to your office and jumpscare you.

Withered Freddy Fazbear- He will appear in the left hall coming to your office if he gets close to the left door shut the left door to prevent him from coming to your office if you don’t shut the left door once he is in your office you have a short amount of time to put on the freddy mask to prevent him from jumpscaring you. If you don’t put on the freddy mask after a short amount of time he will jumpscare you.

Withered Foxy The Pirate Fox- He will appear in pirate cove. Once he gets out of pirate cove when you check the right hall you’ll see him running to the office but you have a short amount of time to close the right door to prevent him from coming to the office but if you don’t shut the right door and when he comes to your office you only have a couple of seconds to shine the flashlight at him to prevent him from jumpscaring you but if you don’t shine the flashlight after a couple of seconds he will jumpscare you.

Shadow Freddy Fazbear- He will randomly appear at the left side of the office. Once he is at your office he will black out the office for a couple of seconds then when the office is back on he will disappear.

Endoskeleton 02- He will appear at the right hall coming to your office. If he gets close to the right door shut the right door to prevent him from jumpscaring you. If you don’t shut the right door he will come to your office and jumpscare you.

Phantom Chica The Chicken- She will randomly appear at any camera anywhere on the monitor. The only way to prevent her from jumpscaring you is you have a short amount a second to immediately close the monitor or change any camera. If you don’t close the monitor or change any camera after a second she will jumpscare you but won’t give you a game over.

Phantom Foxy The Pirate Fox- He will randomly appear on the right side of the office slowly becoming visible. The only way to prevent him from jumpscaring you is that you have to shine the flashlight to make him disappear. If you don’t shine the flashlight at him when he is completely solid he will jumpscare you but won’t give you a game over.

Phantom Puppet- He will randomly appear in any cameras anywhere on the monitor. You have a short amount of time to close the monitor or change any camera in order to prevent him from making his noise at your office. If you don’t close the monitor or change any camera after a short amount of time he’ll appear right at your face in your office for a couple of minutes with his computer noise before he disappears.

Nightmare Foxy The Pirate Fox- He will appear in the closet next to pirate cove on the right you’ll have to shine the light at the closet and if he’s peeking out close the closet to prevent him from coming to your office if you don’t close the closet then when he is out of the closet and when you check the right hall you’ll see him running to your office. you have a short amount of time to to shut the right door to also prevent him from jumpscaring you if you don’t shut the right door he will come to your office and jumpscare you.

Jack O Bonnie The Bunny- He will appear at the left hall coming to your office. If he gets close to the left door office you shut the left door to prevent him from jumpscaring you. If you don’t shut the left door he will come to your office and jumpscare you.

Funtime Freddy Fazbear and Bon Bon The Bunny- Funtime Freddy and Bon Bon will appear in the right hall and left hall coming to your office. When you see they’re eyes glowing at the left or right door shut the left or right door to prevent them from jumpscaring you. If you don’t shut the left or right door when you have the monitor up they will both come to your office and jumpscare you.

Alternate 1

Funtime Freddy Fazbear- He will appear in the right or left hall coming to your office. When you see his eyes glow at the left or right door close the left or right door to prevent him from jumpscaring you if you don’t shut the left or right door when you have the monitor up he will come to your office and jumpscare you.

Alternate 2

Bon Bon The Bunny- He will appear at the top vent heading to your office. If you hear his giggles close the top vent door to prevent him from jumpscaring you. If you don’t shut the top vent door he will come to the office and jumpscare you.

Bidybab- Some bidybabs will be coming from the top vent and some will be coming from the left hall and right hall along with one bidybab will be coming from the side vent. If you see the bidybabs eyes from the top vent shut the top vent door to prevent them from jumpscaring you. If you see some of there eyes glowing from the left door or right door shut the left door or right door to prevent them from jumpscaring you. If you see bidybab at the side vent shut the side vent to prevent her from jumpscaring you. If you don’t shut the top vent door, if you don’t shut the left door or right door and if you don’t shut the side vent door then few of the bidybabs will come to the office and jumpscare you.

Yenndo- He will randomly appear in the office draining the oxygen. If he is at your office you have a short amount of time to flip the monitor up and down to prevent him from jumpscaring you. If you don’t flip the monitor up and down after a short amount of time he will jumpscare you.

Electrobab- She will randomly appear only in the supply closet draining the power the only way to get rid of her is using a controlled shock and she will disappear.

Mr Hugs- He will randomly appear in the bottom right of the office and for a couple of seconds he’ll make loud vacuum noises right at your face for a second before he disappears.

Pan Stan- He will randomly appear at your monitor screen blocking any cameras at your monitor. You would either close the monitor or change any cameras.

Security Puppet- He will appear in his box next to pirate cove on the left. To prevent him from jumpscaring you you wind up his music box to keep the music playing and prevent him from jumpscaring you. If you don’t wind up the music box and when the music box is finished playing security puppet will get out from his box and he will come to your office and jumpscare you.

Candy Cadet- He will appear at your office being deactivated. When he is activated he will tell you to deposit 10 faz coins. He will not jumpscare you or become more agitated you will give him 10 faz coins and he will become deactivated again. You can also turn on the heater to make him malfunction for a couple of seconds then he will be deactivated.

Spring Bonnie The Bunny- He will appear at the right hall coming to your office. If he gets close to the right door shut the right door to prevent him from jumpscaring you. If you don’t shut the right door he will come to your office and jumpscare you.

2024 Games: Mega Man X6 Tweaks

After playing X5’s improvement project, I felt it was only fair that I give X6's a go as well. X6 Tweaks is a sort of like a custom tweaks patcher allowing you to alter several elements of the game to your liking, including how the characters play, certain specific elements of level design, elements of the game’s presentation and a lot of stuff being tracked under the hood.

Before going into that though I feel I should talk about my opinion on base X6.

I hate it.

I really do not like base X6. I have played a majority of the side scrolling Megaman games, not all of them but most of what could be considered main series games and I genuinely feel X6 is the worst Megaman game, of the one's I've played at least, I've heard many bad things about BN4. But with X6 itself I feel like there were a lot of good ideas and some genuinely fun things to mess around with, but between the massively inconsistent difficulty, poor executions of it's ideas like the Nightmare Effects, bad design decisions with things like the secret boss areas and all armour pieces being required to use an armour again and of course it's infamously bad level design. Any good or sensible idea X6 had, is ultimately either undermined, falls over itself or is lamented for being stuck in this game.

So what exactly does Tweaks do to fix these issues?

In short, quite a lot while also adding a number of miscellaneous additions for fun and QoL, but at the same time, not doing much to fix arguably X6's biggest issue.

With my playthroughs, for the overall important changes, I opted to disable the Nightmare Blindness, leaving the other nightmare effects on. Aside from that, I activated incomplete armours, made it so the Exit Stage button was always available, unlocked aerial moves like double jumps and dash, fixed the translation, added the custom mugshot graphics, and tweaked the damage tables to make a few things more tolerable, like the donuts.

These changes did do a lot to make X6 more tolerable which did allow it's better qualities to shine through. The game is a lot more open with your routing, probably at least in part because every stage needs to be revisited anyway. The armours are fantastic, I'd argue they're some of the best armours X ever got and with the updated script, I can at least appreciate what the story was attempting. The script does even have some stuff that is genuinely interesting or funny.

Nightmare Zero actually has lines that read like he is Wily, I genuinely did not know that til now.

They even added unique dialogue for Zero in the intro stage and against Nightmare Zero should you use the cheat to unlock him from the start which is a fantastic touch.

Some other fun additions include letting you change the Ultimate Armour’s palette to any of the three from the PS1 Trilogy as well as a fixed version of the X6 colours to match the portrait and a colour palette for the Legacy Collection Ultimate Armour which I think was updated to make it look better.

Unfortunately, at it's core the game us still X6 and it's main issue, the level design is still very much a problem. Scaravich is still a random layout , leaving the armour, boss portal and heart tank up to RNG. Mijinion still has his really annoying secret area, and his main area still throws literally everything at you, and of course, Heatnix is still just donuts. Would you believe me if I said someone actually told me they thought this was not only fun, but better than an actual level? Course the Gate stages are still just as bad too, but hey you can actually beat them without parts now. Bringing Shadow Armour to Gate is actually a reasonable idea now, as one of the few changes the hack does make to level design is adding a platform to the infamous jump. An air dash for No Armour and Shadow Armour is also available.

Sadly, like X5 Improvement, the hack ultimately does very little to fix the overall level design and the more problematic sections. But to be clear, I can't really blame the hack creators for that as the only real solution would be to just completely scrap the existing levels and completely redesign them from scratch, something well beyond the scope of a rom patch. So overall while it is an improvement over X6, I'd really only recommend it to someone who's familiar with X6, the bullshit it throws at you and the ways you can cheese it.

I'd say it helps the stromg qualities of X6 stand out enough to get B tier, but a pretty low B if I'm honest
