An Italian spaghetti house and a German health food store next to each other on 86th St. in New York, January 22, 1942.
Beverley Nichols, an English writer, described the NYC of 1940s:
More than ever before, as the shop windows filed past in a glittering parade, there was the sense of New York as a great international city to which all the ends of the world had come.
London used to be like that, but somehow one had forgotten it, so long had it been since the Hispanos and Isottas had glided down Piccadilly, so many aeons since the tropical fruit had glowed in the Bond Street windows.
Coming from that sort of London to America, in the old days, New York had seemed just, American; not typical of the continent, maybe, but American first and foremost. Now it was the centre of the world.

Watercolour on paper
I know it's not perfect, I can see every mistake in it, and I don't like how much of the colours were lost in scanning. But it still makes me want to eat every cake (even though I can't just as much as the little vampire can't, since it's just a picture); so it still gets posted.
I've already talked myself into giving every vampire picture the death mysticism tag, since vampires are inherently death-related, but I feel like this might be the most harmless vampire picture ever.

Window Shopper
I love shooting through glass. Something about the reflections and the subject together totally gets me. There's the thing you're supposed to see and then hints of another world just out out of frame.
This is with Shevaun at a couple of spots in downtown Edmonton.
If you ever want to shoot, just send me a message.

I Adore this shop. 🖤🖤🖤 It has some of the loveliest window displays.
I love passing by it nearly every day on my walk to and from work. It's been around for almost 150 years.
