y’know... i am all for fanfiction, creative freedom, aus, and even theories, but then i think about this petition and its 70,000+ signatures, and i just. all those people who say ronance and/or by/ler is unrealistic because it’s the 80s and apparently gay people just didn’t fucking exist until, like, 2005, and yet there is this whole ass petition to bring back a dead character on a show that they know kills characters and where it was obvious he was going to be killed because he literally only appeared this season and even though they saw him die onscreen.

like, fucking hell, your suspension of disbelief stops at ronance, but then hops over it to try and convince the duffel bags to make eddie a vampire or what the fuck else as if it wouldn’t look like total fan pandering at this point, and if they’re going to retcon this for the audience, well fuck, there’s no excuse other than homophobia when they continue to ignore their lgbt+ audience specifically and keep up the garbage with robin’s zero-note love interest and the by/ler baiting. 

and like, i’m not going to sit here and pretend i know, for a fact, that most of these people are ste/ddie shippers and/or the ones who write those eddie/reader sm*t fics that i wish i could bleach from my brain, but like. judging by the amount of people who follow the ste/ddie tag on here (29k) and how #ste/ddie has been tweeted at least 100k times on twitter in the last week alone, i’m going to say that it’s a fair assumption to make.
