Okay, so when Dick Grayson is in Civilian Mode, he has pretty wavy hair when it's long.
Those are waves!!!
But as Nightwing he is often (not always) depicted with pretty straight hair when it's long. We do have confirmation that The Whip Tm (his super long ponytail) isn't all hair, but it is still all of his hair.
My conclusion: if he has time, he straightens his hair before going out as Nightwing. In emergencies he does not take the time to do so.

I'm so scared that Zac's double nat20s popped up so early into downtime and all the rest is gonna be that episode of Neverafter where the party failed every interaction EXCEPT for Zac, who just looked at horses

do you ever just remember how one of the most effective things parvis said to get silence to lose faith in saria was essentially "do you really think she would ever choose YOU over everything?" and silence with her low self esteem really didn't believe saria would.
Then in the end saria really did choose them over everything, left her defense director job and her whole life up to that point behind for the sake of silence and ifrit. and silence still doesnt even know. do you ever think about that and lose your mind a little bit.

pathologic using the word 'chimera' to mean something related to or analogous to 'utopia' was always interesting to me but now I'm learning it's actually an established phrasing at least in political theory—definitely in socialist theory
it's not just a russophone term bc I found it scattered throughout marx. all the way back in 1844 he uses 'chimera' like this: "let us liberate them from the chimeras, the ideas, dogmas, imaginary beings under the yoke of which they are pining away."
then it's found in lenin, there's a number of instances of 'chimera' and 'utopia' being semantically juxtaposed eg. "it is neither a chimera nor a utopia", and there's "speaking of Plato's republic and of the current opinion that it is a chimera"
and the reason I went on this dive is that I found it in anarchist revolutionary nestor makhno's writings "in our day, the anarchist society or harmonious human society no longer seems a chimera"
but as an english speaker, I hadn't come across the word 'chimera' being used in political theory before playing pathologic

DC x DP prompt #5
This is so dumb but Danny is Bruce's uncle.
And not in the Danny is old or whatever, no, my dude is 15 looks like he's 13 and when he was running away from home, he met this really really old lady which looked at him, looked at his wounds and went "aight I'm adopting u"
Danny thought she was a ghost and this was her obsession, so imagine his surprise when it turned out that not only this lady was alive, but also supposedly from very influential family??? Danny wasn't sure Abt that one, bc he himself never heard abt these "Waynes" like that just sounds weird, but hey. It made the lady happy so.
Anyway they part ways, bc the lady only wanted to adopt not care, and Danny decides, hey now that I have a new fam, maybe i should get to know them or something?
Well imagine his surprise when he found out some guy in his fifties is supposedly his nephew and has like bazillion kids.
Idk what happens next yada yada sheniganas happen and than Danny ends up in Gotham. And meets Bruce Wayne. Who obviously sees young child w si gns of abuse, black hair, blue eyes and is immidietly like "aight I'm adopting u" (like grandma like grandson huh)
Only this time, Danny is sure he isn't a ghost, and has a counter argument "u can't adopt me I'm ur uncle" and immidietly flees bc dealing w his problems isn't something he does.
Cue confused batfam or stuff idk, I'm so tired and this is just an excuse for crack

Tom's line about Shiv being selfish and "find[ing] it very hard to think about me" is actually so telling because while it's absolutely true that she rarely takes his position into consideration, Tom never once thinks about what he can do to help Shiv unless it also benefits him.
Every single time he makes a move or sacrifice that might help her, it's always something that he thinks will give him a leg up. He volunteers to take the fall for cruises, not for Shiv, who is in no way implicated, or even for Waystar, but because he thinks it'll ingratiate him to Logan, and the second it seems like he might have to actually follow through on that, he immediately tries to get out of it and even throws Shiv under the bus. Meanwhile, for all that Shiv disregards his interests, there are a number of things she does that only help him, and she's the one who actually sacrifices something and undermines her position with Logan to beg him not to let Tom go to jail.
It just makes it so clear that no matter how much he might love her (and I think he does, in his own compromised way), for him their relationship was always built on the underlying assumption that it's her job to prop him up, but it's not his job to help her.

the thing is the sanctity of pstobin’s friendship soulmatism cannot be touched on to me. robin is NOT allowed to have come out to anyone before steve. steve is NOT allowed to have a best friend his age when he meets robin. there should NEVER be a witness to their bathroom scene (it is sacrosanct). they need to be at peak pathetic losercore at their time of meeting otherwise they wouldnt merge at an atomic level the way that they have. they need to be at their loneliest so that their bond is that much more important!!!! okay
