Mission: New Asgard
Character: Loki x reader (completely gender neutral. There are zero indications of the readers gender, no pronouns at all. Note that this is written from the perspective of a woman, though, so if something is too biased, please let me know!)
Summary: You are assigned to help integrate the Asgardians to Midgardian society, but your mission ends a whole lot different than you expect.
Warnings: None!
Word Count: 5,493
A/N: My second fic! The title is supposed to be a play on the Mission: Impossible movies, but I've never actually seen one, so sorry if it's wrong lol. Now that I officially have more than one fic, I'm gonna make a masterlist, so that will be coming soon. I hope you like the story!
You rapped your knuckles on the office door that had been left slightly ajar. “Director Mackenzie? You asked to see me?”
“Come on in, Y/N. Elena was just leaving.”
You opened the door and nodded at Agent Rodriguez as she made her way out. She gave you a curt nod in return.
Alphonso Mackenzie, Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., leaned back into the chair behind his desk and gestured for you to have a seat. “And for the last time, Y/N, you are one of my most trusted operatives. Call me Mack, please.”
You sat down. “Sorry, Mack.”
He opened a desk drawer and pulled out a file folder stuffed to the brim with documents, which he dropped onto the desk between you, the loud thwap resounding in the small office.
“I have a mission for you, Agent. A few days ago, the planet Asgard was completely destroyed.”
“Asgard?” you interjected. “Like where Thor is from?”
He nodded. “You’ll find all of that and more in these files. Thor and his brother Loki have set up a colony in a small town in Norway. We need you to supervise the integration of the Asgardian people onto Earth. This is the first known mass migration of aliens that our planet has ever seen, and we need to be keeping a close eye on this, or it could go sideways real fast.”
You pulled the files closer and began to flip through a few pages. “I thought Loki was a bad guy. What was it? 80 people in 2 days? Plus the invasion of New York. Why are we letting him back here?”
Mack sighed and rubbed his temple. “I can’t personally vouch for the man, but Thor claims he was being mind controlled. According to Thor, Loki eventually broke free of the control and killed the guy who was behind the whole thing. Some alien named Thanos? Tony Stark himself seems okay with this New Asgard business, and you know how paranoid he gets. So for now, we observe, not attack.”
“Gotcha,” you said. “When do I leave?”
“As soon as you can get your stuff together and get out of here. Say the word and we'll start prepping a Quinjet.”
“Aye, aye, captain,” you said, standing up and grabbing the files. “I’ll let you know as soon as I get an idea of my timeline.”
“Thank you Agent L/N, and good luck.”
------
You gripped the steering wheel tightly, barely making a rather sharp turn. When you finished this assignment, you were going to have to have a talk with whoever designed these roads. Despite the unsafe driving conditions, though, you sighed in contentment. You were back in the field, this is where you belonged.
You pulled a van loaded to the brim with various tech items mixed in with your personal possessions down a bumpy road, coming to a stop before a small, rustic-looking, seaside town, where two men and a woman stood for you. The sun was beginning to dip below the horizon. You turned the key and shut off the van, trying to get a read on each of the people standing before you.
The buff blond man was clearly Thor. You recognized him from the news and the files you had read. Next to him was a tall woman with dark hair who had wan air of confidence about her. You had never seen her, nor did S.H.I.E.L.D. have any data on her. The third man was lanky, but clearly still fit, with dark hair that fell just past his shoulders. He was clad in green and had a demeanor that made you shiver. This was Loki, scourge of New York and would-be king of Midgard. But Thor and Tony Stark had vouched for him, and that would have to be enough for Y/N L/N, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.
You exited the van and heard Thor call to you. “Welcome, newcomer! Our scouts observed your vehicle approaching our home!”
You walked briskly towards the group. Game time. Put on the 'no time for your shit' face and get to business. Coming to a stop in front of them, you began to speak. “My name is Y/N L/N and I am here on behalf of S.H.I.E.L.D., the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division of the American government. We have been granted permission from the government of Norway to oversee this colony's development. This is an unprecedented situation on Earth, and as such, we have written new protocols. I am the agent assigned to this case, and I will be supervising the construction of New Asgard and its integration into Midgardian society.”
Thor furrowed his brow. “I was under the impression that S.H.I.E.L.D. was controlled by Hydra.”
You nodded. “Unfortunately, yes. The previous incarnation of S.H.I.E.L.D. was corrupt, but we are a hardy breed, so to speak. A much smaller branch has survived, and deals with various situations across the world, aliens being one of them.”
Thor nodded. “Then we welcome your presence here with open arms.”
Loki scoffed. “You are too trusting, brother. This so-called agent could be anyone. What cause do we have to believe this story?”
You turned to him. “Loki, God of Mischief, Chaos, and Lies, correct? You of all people should know, am I lying?”
He stared at you, long and hard, before shaking his head. “No, I suppose you aren’t,” he admitted.
“There’s that then,” you said. “Now, I will need to ask the three of you some questions regarding yourselves, if you don’t mind.”
-----
The strange woman was first. You had been given a small shack to conduct your interviews out of, the woman stared at you from across the table, looking for all the world like she had somewhere better to be.
“Name?”
“Brunnhilde.”
“No family name?”
“I am a Valkyrie. I have no blood other than my sisters.”
“Right,” you said, “You lived on Asgard then?”
Her face took on a sour look. “A long time ago. I’ve spent the last few centuries on a different planet, Sakaar.”
You scribbled the information into your notepad. “What do you do then? If you were gone so long, why are you back with the Asgardians?”
Her chest puffed with pride. “I am to be the new King of Asgard. On the Summer Solstice we will hold a coronation. It will give the people enough time to accept the transfer of power from Odin’s bloodline to me, and for me to learn how to lead.”
You nodded and took note of it. “Congratulations,Your Majesty-to-be. I believe that’s all I need for now, but I expect we will see a lot of each other over the months.”
-----
Thor. The large man sat across from you, seemingly happy to be there.
“Thor Odinson, correct?” you asked him.
“Yes.”
“And I hear you're passing on the title of King to Brunnhilde?”
A dark look came over his face. “I have learned recently that my family has done many wrongs by Asgard. As long as I breathe, I will fight for Asgard and her people, but I do not believe it is my place to rule. Brunnhilde loves the people and has a talent for leadership. She will be a much better King than I.”
“A very noble decision, Thor. Thank you very much, and please send your brother in on your way out.”
-----
“Name?”
“I believe you know who I am.”
You sighed. “It's a formality, Mr. Laufeyson.”
“Friggason.”
“What?”
“I prefer Loki Friggason.”
You nodded, and made the necessary changes to his file. “Noted. Anything else I should know about?”
“Just a warning,” he said, leaning forward, his voice dangerously low. “I am the God of Lies. The truth is a luxury I will afford no one, especially your little government. The God of Chaos is an enemy you do not want to have.”
You raised an eyebrow, and wrote a single word in your file, exaggerating each syllable as you wrote it out. “Dra. Ma. Tic.”
Truth be told, you were a little scared, given this guy’s reputation, but you would be damned before you let your exterior crack.
Loki scowled. He seemed to do that a lot. “You mortals think you are so funny, do you not?”
You shrugged. “I’m delightful.” You slipped your papers into your file folder and stood up. “See you around, Friggason.”
You left, leaving Loki slightly aghast that you had managed to get the last word in.
-----
You walked calmly out of the hut, then quickened your pace as you made your way back to your van. Loki, as much as it pained you to say, had been intimidating, and your heart was beating a mile a minute.
You opened the door and climbed inside, shoving your paperwork into a filing cabinet, which you promptly locked. You turned to your computers, fiddling with the buttons, atttempting to establish your connection back to S.H.I.E.L.D headquarters.
"It's quite rude to walk out on a prince, you know."
You jumped and whipped around to see Loki standing outside your van.
"What the hell!"
"I said-"
"I know what you said, Your Highness," you interrupted. "But you scared the shit out of me. “
"Many apologies," he said as he hoisted himself up to sit on the edge of the van, his insincerity clear. "And I grant you permission to refer to me as Loki."
"How generous," you muttered, before going back to your instruction manual. Technology had never been your forte. You chose being a field agent over a scientist for a reason.
The both of you sat in silence for a while, you working slowly through the instructions that Fitz, a S.H.I.E.L.D agent much more qualified in machinery than you, had given you.
You glanced up at Loki, half expecting to see him sleeping against the van's frame, only to find his gaze resting on you.
"Can I help you?" you asked.
He just laughed a bit, like staring at you had been the most normal thing in the world. "I am watching you, Midgardian, lest you sabotage the society my brother is trying to build."
"I never took you for the loyal type," you said, putting away your things. "I'm gonna have to ask you to get outta here though."
“Why?”
You gestured to the twilight outside. “It’s late. I’ve had a long day. I’m going to bed.”
Loki strained his head slightly, attempting to peek into the van. “Where do you plan on sleeping?”
Not breaking eye contact, you grabbed a cord on the wall and yanked, and the rusty old pull-down bed flopped out with a loud groan. The rickety old thing was probably going to give you back problems by the time you were done here, but such was life. S.H.I.E.L.D.’s money was usually spent on more pressing things than upgrading amenities for field agents.
Loki’s nose wrinkled in disgust. “You are not sleeping in that. We’ve built a larger house for Thor, Brunnhilde, and I. You’ll stay in one of the guest rooms there.”
You shrugged. “It’s not too bad out here.”
“Mortals,” he said under his breath, almost indecipherably, before speaking again, at a normal volume this time. “I insist. Whether I like it or not, you are a guest of Asgard, and you will be treated as such. Besides, that bed looks seconds away from collapsing.”
You nodded, trying not to betray your confusion at the combination of his kindness and rudeness. “Thank you, just give me a second to lock up.” You grabbed the pieces you had been fiddling with, then paused, your hand hovering over the satellite dish. “Actually, if you’re just gonna sit there, you may as well make yourself useful. You can teleport right?”
Suspicion crossed his face. “Yes?”
You held out the device. “Hop up to the top of the van, there should be a little cord. It’ll fit into this port here,” you said gesturing. “Plug it in for me, please?”
He raised an eyebrow. “You ask a god to do your bidding?”
You scoffed. “You’re not a god, you're an alien. And I just asked for a favor. You’re free to say no, but I’m exhausted, and as much as I would like to put off climbing on the roof off until tomorrow, I need to send a check in to headquarters ASAP.”
He begrudgingly reached out and took the dish and you watched as his form rippled green and faded away. You heard shuffling on the roof for a moment, then silence, before the Asgardian reappeared in front of you.
“If that’s all, Midgardian?” he said.
“Thank you, Highness,” you said, ignoring his tone. “And thank you for offering the room.” The monitor beeped a confirmation that your signal had connected and you punched in a code to let S.H.I.E.L.D. know you had made it to New Asgard. You grabbed the bag you had packed and hopped out of the van, waiting for Loki to follow suit before closing the doors and locking the vehicle.
You offered him your arm. “Shall we?”
He brushed past you, rolling his eyes at your mock-politeness.
“Alright then,” you muttered, “This is gonna be fun, isn’t it?” Taking one last look at the van behind you, you moved to catch up with the Asgardian walking briskly away from you.
-----
Loki had not been talkative on the way to the house, and after being curtly shown to your room, he quickly left. You had settled into a decently sized room complete with a desk and a small bathroom attached. Undoubtedly, the house was a far cry from an Asgardian palace, but it was much larger than needed for three, even four, people. Surprisingly, you got a sound night’s sleep.
You woke to rambunctious laughter, and, wiping bleariness from your eyes, got out of bed. You stood in front of a small mirror on the wall and attempted to make yourself look slightly less like you had just woken up. Moving to your bag, you put on clothes that were much more professional than the old sweatshirt you were currently wearing.
Finally satisfied, you stepped out of your room and followed the sounds of conversation into the kitchen, where you found Brunnhilde and Thor joking at the counter while Loki sat at a dining room table, reading a book.
Seeing you, Thor broke into a smile. “Y/N! Loki had told us you would be staying here!”
You returned the smile. “Thank you for letting me stay here, Thor. I really appreciate this.”
The large man set a plate heaping with food on the table and gestured for you to sit. You did, glancing at Loki as you took the seat across from him, but he made no move to acknowledge that you were there. Brunnhidle began to speak. “We will be building fishing boats today down at the docks today. Will you be joining us, Y/N? We could use an extra set of hands.”
You nodded. “I don’t mind helping out. I have a few things to take care of first, though, so I’ll meet you all down there.”
Thor clapped. “Excellent! We’ll make an Asgardian out of you yet!”
You laughed softly and finished your meal as Thor and Brunnhilde began to tell you the plans for the day.
------
After breakfast, you ran up to your room to grab your laptop and then met the rest of the group on the stairs of the house. “I’ll see you guys in a little while,” you said, waving while walking in the opposite direction.
Thor and Brunnhidle branched off from you, but Loki, still silent, walked beside you towards your van.
You looked at him quizzically, but he seemed to have no intention of indicating why he was with you, and not with Thor and Brunnhilde.
Finally, as you approached your van, you caved and asked. “Why are you with me instead of your brother?”
“I’ve consulted with Thor. I will be supervising you for the remainder of your stay here.”
You stared at him in disbelief. “I’m supposed to be supervising you guys!”
“You are a stranger,” he replied, “and there’s something about you that I don’t trust. I have harmed Asgard many times over, and I don’t intend to let you get away with hurting these people any more.” There was an edge to his voice, that you had to admit, scared you.
After a long moment, you sighed. “Fine. I could use an assistant, I guess.” Which was apparently the right thing to say, because it made him clearly flustered.
“I am no one’s assistant, I am a prince of Asgard,” he argued as you turned away from him, partially to unlock your van and partially to hide your laughter.
You hopped up into the vehicle and grabbed a folder and tossed it to Loki, who was still sputtering about his status behind you. “Scan those in, would you?” you said gesturing at a machine in the back corner of the van.
He huffed but snatched the folder from your hand and went to fiddle with the machine.
You glanced over. “Do you know how to use that?”
“Yes,” he snapped. “This is primitive technology compared to what I have seen in my travels.”
You shrugged. “Okay.” You turned to your computer and queued up a call to S.H.I.E.L.D. HQ. “I’m gonna need you to be quiet for a second,” you said, right before Mack’s face popped onto the screen.
“Y/N! How’s Norway treating you?” he said with a smile.
“Colder than I thought, but not too bad. They’ve given me an actual bed to sleep in. You really need to update the beds in these vans,” you joked.
“I’ll let the budget committee know,” he replied. “I trust Thor and Loki are being cooperative, then?”
“More or less,” you said before stepping to the side, putting Loki in full view of your webcam.
Mack’s eyes widened. The change was subtle, but you could tell he was surprised. “That’s Loki.”
“Yup.”
“In your van.”
“Yup.”
“Why?”
“His Highness has deemed me untrustworthy, and decided I need a chaperone.”
“Right,” said Mack, suspicion in his voice. “Well you know the drill. Weekly check-ins, and don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any problems,” he said, looking at Loki.
“Gotcha, Mack. Talk to you next week,” you said, turning off the call. You turned to Loki, who had yet to even turn the scanner on. “You don’t know how to work that, do you?”
He glared at you and did not reply.
“Come here, Your Highness, I’ll show you. It really isn’t that hard.”
“You know the honorific loses its value when you say it so sarcastically,” he said, while watching your motions intensely, memorizing the steps to work the machine.
“Sorry, Highness.”
-----
The two of you walked down to the beach shortly after, meeting Brunnhilde and Thor at the docks. You were allotted supplies and miraculously, you and Loki ended up caulking the same boat.
Great.
The silence was deafening at first, until you decided to break it.
“You know I never would have assumed that someone of such status would be out here doing the dirty work,” you said, sarcasm dripping from your voice.
He grimaced. “I owe Asgard a debt. I intend to repay it, however I can offer service.”
“A very noble stance from Loki, God of Mischief.”
He grinned and looked up, meeting your eyes. “I find that one can be noble while still being quite mischievous.”
You felt your face heat up, and ducked your head, looking down at your work. He had smiled at you, for the first time, and what he had said had sounded almost like flirting. Why had that made your stomach turn in such a strange way?
“Oh my,” he laughed. “Seems that the Midgardian is finally speechless.”
“Just trying to hold my tongue around my betters, Highness,” you said, rolling your eyes. “Now let’s get to work before Brunnhilde has our heads.”
-----
Finally, late that afternoon, the work was done, and the New Asgard armada of fishing boats was ready for a celebratory launch. You and Loki stood in the crowd, watching Brunnhilde give a speech in front of the flagship, which really wasn’t much larger than the rest of the fleet. Loki leaned over and whispered to you, “You know, back in the day, the Norse would give a human sacrifice to the sea god to ensure safe passage.”
You wrinkled your nose, put off by the suggestion. “I think I prefer the more English tradition,” you replied, watching as Brunnhilde smashed a bottle of champagne against the hull of the ship.
Loki sighed. “Such a waste of perfectly good champagne.”
“I’m sure there's plenty more alcohol around here somewhere,” you said as you walked over to your boat, preparing for her maiden voyage. You hopped in and offered Loki your hand to help him in. He hesitated, but he took it.
“What should we name her?” you asked.
“What?”
“You know,” you shrugged, “We have to give our ship a name.”
Loki seemed to ponder it a moment before deciding. “How about The Midgardian?”
You put your hand on your chest in mock flattery. “Aww, you named her after me, didn’t you?”
He laughed. “It’s a fitting name. She’s lackluster and hardly even worthy of being called a boat.” His words were biting, and maybe you were imagining things, but you could have sworn you heard the playfulness in his voice.
You laughed and tossed him an oar. “For you, Highness.”
“Many thanks, Midgardian.”
The two of you followed the rest of New Asgard, rowing out to sea. Suddenly, you noticed a small sprig of water in the bottom of the boat. “Loki,” you said, the fear dawning on you, “I think the boat is leaking.”
He turned to see the small leak coming through the floorboards. “Okay,” he said, suddenly serious, “Don’t panic. Let’s turn around.”
You switched the side you were paddling on, beginning to move the boat in a circle. Before you could completely orient yourselves, the floorboards cracked, and a large chunk of wood detached from the boat. You yelped as the water came flooding in.
Loki swore. “Can you swim?” he asked you, speaking quickly.
You nodded. All S.H.I.E.L.D. agents knew how to swim.
“Then jump!” he said, and you did, without a second thought. Your boat was sinking fast, and there was no way you were going to make it back to shore dry.
You hit the water, and a second later, heard Loki behind you.
“Swim towards Thor’s boat, he can get us-”
You missed the rest of his sentence as you were pulled away from him.
You fought the current that had taken hold of you, but your panic was making things worse. In the confusion, you lost control, and dipped under water. The ocean filled your mouth. Breaking the surface again, you choked out most of the water, trying to stay calm and find a way out, but every second you were being pulled further out to sea. Falling under once again, you were prepared to accept your fate when a strong pair of arms wrapped themselves around you and pulled you into calmer waters.
You gasped for air as Loki held you against himself, allowing you time to recover.
“Wha- How did-” you began, once you could speak.
“Don’t talk, just breathe,” he said. “I am a god, I can overpower currents much easier than your mortal bodies can.”
“Thank you, Loki,” you said.
“You are welcome, Y/N.”
A larger boat pulled up next to you, Thor leaning over the side. “Brother, Agent Y/N! Take my hand!”
Loki helped you onto the deck of the boat before climbing over the side himself.
You flopped onto the deck, panting. “Rest in peace, SS Midgardian.”
-----
Later that night, you and Loki sat together watching the fire crackle. Thor had brought you a hot drink, and after plenty of fussing ensuring that you were okay, had left to do something leader-ish with Brunnhilde.
Suddenly, a loud scuffling at the door broke the silence and a series of thudding footsteps made their way toward you. Upon seeing your company, Loki sighed, exasperated. You turned and saw a large figure that appeared to be made out of rock alongside a smaller, insect-looking creature.
The large one began to speak, his gentle tone in contrast with his threatening form. “Hello. Um, I’m Korg and this is my friend Meik. We came to apologize for the whole boat thing. Thor put us in charge of wood collection, so it’s our bad, really. Sorry.”
“Oh, um, that’s alright,” you said, still processing the fact that there were two very large, very strange-looking, aliens in the living room. “You couldn’t have known the wood was rotting, and no one’s dead, so we’re good.”
“Alright, cool,” said Korg. “No harm, no foul, yeah?”
You nodded. “Yeah.”
“Right then,” he said, scooping up Miek. “We’ve gotta get going. Thor put us on clean up duty for the next week.”
“Thank you, Korg!” you called, but he was already out the door.
Loki let out another sigh. “Idiots.”
You turned back to him. “I had no idea there were other aliens here! How many species came with you?”
“Just Korg and Meik. And unfortunately, they are around a lot.”
You settled into your armchair. “I’m gonna have to document this.” But even as you said it, you could feel yourself drifting off.
-----
The next day you woke in your own bed, slightly embarrassed at the implication that Loki had carried you there, but he never brought it up, so neither did you.
The next few weeks were filled with collecting information and helping with the construction of New Asgard to fill the rest of your time. Always, of course, accompanied by Loki. In a strange way, you were becoming friends. The two of you never exchanged a single kind word, but your actions said otherwise. Before long, it seemed less like Loki was breathing down your neck and more like he was genuinely relaxing around you.
“Hey, Mack,” you said, beginning your weekly call-in, Loki now sitting beside you instead of hiding in the background.
“Hey there, Y/N. How’s it going, Loki?”
“Quite well, thank you, Director Mackenzie.”
You stared at him in shock. You had never heard Loki use honorifics for a Midgardian.
The rest of the call was uneventful, and as soon as you hung up, you whirled toward Loki.
“You were polite!” you said, your tone accusatory.
Loki sniffed. “I do have manners, you know.”
“You called him Director Mackenzie.”
“And?”
“And I can count the number of times you’ve used my real name on one hand. It’s always ‘Midgardian’ this ‘Midgardian’ that. You know Mack’s a Midgardian too, right?”
He rolled his eyes. “And you call me ‘Highness’ in that terrible mocking tone of yours. The disrespect is mutual.”
You sighed. “Fine, we’ll call a truce. I’ll call you Loki, you call me Y/N, deal?” You stuck out your hand, waiting for his response.
He seemed to be considering his options, before he settled on his choice. “Deal.” He grasped your hand firmly within his and shook it.
“Glad we’re on the same page, Loki,” you said, leaning back into your chair.
“What now, Y/N?” he asked.
You shrugged. “I dunno. Brunnhilde and Thor don’t have anything going on, and I’m done with what I need to do.” You started clicking around on your computer. “Wanna watch a movie?”
“I’ve heard of movies, but never seen one.”
“You’ve never seen a movie?” you asked. “I guess that makes sense. It’s basically just a recorded play. You’ll love it.” You pulled up a movie. One of the lesser known perks of working for S.H.I.E.L.D.: free Netflix. “This is one of my favorites,” you said as the opening credits rolled.
“I suppose you aren’t giving me a choice then?” he asked.
“Nope,” you replied. “Now be quiet and watch.”
-----
Later that night, you were in the kitchen with Thor, cleaning up after dinner. The two of you worked in comfortable silence until suddenly-
“Are you and my brother involved romantically?”
The plate you were washing fell into the soapy water with a splash.
“What?”
“I have never seen him willingly be around a person as he is you,” Thor explained. “And he has changed. He is happier than he was before Midgard.”
You shook your head. “He doesn’t- I thought he was just ‘supervising’ in case I tried to kill you all.”
“Hardly. The man just has no clue how to adjust to a more… domestic lifestyle. He wants to be around you, he just does not know how to express that.”
“Huh,” was all you managed to say, not looking up from the dishes.
Thor let out a small chuckle. “One day you two will figure it out,” he said so quietly you weren’t even sure he said it.
-----
More time passed, you and Loki still spending your days together. Before you knew it, the Summer Solstice was here, and you spent the morning preparing.
Rushing around your van, alone for once, you scrambled to get your work done quickly before Brunnhidle’s coronation began.
Finishing up you glanced at your monitor when you saw a message pop up.
Alphonso Mackenzie: I forgot to mention it in our call this week, but you’re coming up on the six month mark, and there seems to be no complications with Asgard’s transition, so we’ll be pulling you back to HQ. We’ll sort out the details in next week’s meeting.
You felt a sinking feeling in your chest, which was quickly replaced by determination as you began to type your response.
-----
You hurried to Loki’s side, panting slightly, making it to the coronation just in time for Brunnhidle to make her entrance.
“You’re late,” he whispered.
“Shh,” you said. “They’re starting.”
-----
After every great coronation comes an even greater feast, and the Asgardians spent the rest of the day revealing and celebrating their new leader.
Surprisingly, you had seen very little of Loki. That wouldn’t last long though, because as the sun dipped below the horizon, your closest friend in New Asgard appeared from the crowd and said nothing as he led you to a private space away from the partygoers.
“I’ve hardly seen you all night,” he said, as soon as the two of you had a moment of relative silence.
“I know,” you laughed softly. “It’s been strange to not be around you.”
Your smile fell and you looked up at him. “Look, Loki, I have some news, and I’m not sure how you’re going to feel about it.”
His expression turned serious and he led you to a small bench, where the both of you sat. He stayed silent, waiting for you to speak.
“I got a message from Mack today. They want me back in America.”
Loki’s entire demeanor changed. “What? You can’t go back. There’s still so much I- so much supervising to be done here.”
“That’s where the part I’m unsure of comes in,” you said. “I talked to Mack, and the specifics still need to be discussed, but if we can get agreement from all parties, he wants to create a new position at S.H.I.E.L.D. I’d be the first permanent Asgardian-Midgardian liaison that S.H.I.E.L.D. has ever had.”
His face broke into a grin and he clasped your hands into his. “That’s wonderful! Why would I have any problems with that?”
“You haven’t always been my biggest fan,” you said, nudging his arm gently.
He was silent for a moment, looking for the words. “Maybe not at first,” he began slowly, looking you directly in your eyes, “but now, I’d argue that you are closer to me than anyone else.”
You suddenly became all too aware of his hands resting on yours, and the closeness of his face to yours. “Loki…”
“I hate to admit it, but after a long talk with Thor, I’ve realized that I’ve grown quite fond of you, Y/N.”
“I guess I’ve grown fond of you too, Your Highness,” you said, smiling softly.
“Oh, Midgardian,” he said, unable to keep the laughter out of his voice as his face drew nearer.
You didn’t remember which of you closed the gap, only that it was the most magical kiss you had ever had.
A/N: Thanks for reading! :)

(note that I know I mentioned a “Voiced Askplosion” last time in the tags for anyone who put a 🎤 in their ask, meaning they wanted to hear me respond verbally to it, but I only got one and it wasn’t anything serious - just a tease from someone I know - so I either won’t be doing it at all or will be holding off)
Asks responding to previous posts:

ALYA NO!!!
(the idea of Sabrina avoiding not only Ms. Mendeleiev, but also Alya, is very amusing to me)
The fact that the special focuses on the love square instead of Sabrina and Delmar is a crime.
(also note that “Need some help?” is rhetorical in this context; Alya doesn’t care)
Tumblr media
Highly recommended, honestly, otherwise it just turns into a big shame because there are shows I really like but with some content that I don’t like, and why torture myself with it when I can cut it out instead?
Just to give a rough idea, here’s my cut of “Desperada”; mind you, this is just my quick cut of it (basically a “beta” version where I just removed everything I disliked without much care for transitioning/having everything make sense; some of Marinette’s friends talking, the guitar scene, Aspik, etcetera), as I’m not comfortable handing over my “perfect” cut of it since it’s like my personal copy.
Tumblr media
Yeah, that’s a super awkward scene. As much as I’d like to imagine that Adrien just doesn’t understand the “guy time” thing (which I still hate), the fact that they use the word “guy” specifically is--ugh.
I wasn’t aware of what he said in the French dub, so thanks! It’s really painful to see her throw so much love his way, openly and publicly and obviously, then be so humiliated for it, only for Adrien to feel nothing for her.
Say whatever you want about Chat Noir’s advances and how sAAAAAAD he is when she rejects him, but her rejections are just that; in private. There aren’t other heroes who are around and Chat is never really humiliated. Even in “Prime Queen,” Chat wasn’t the target - Ladybug was, and then Ladybug shifted it to Nadja - so Marinette is the one taking all the heat in love while Chat gets to sit on the sidelines (plus, then “Oblivio” happened and now people probably all thing they’re a thing).
Tumblr media
Yeah! That’s the group I was thinking of!
Thank you!
Tumblr media
I’m so sorry that happened. ;—;
I’m not aro but I am ace and I’ve gotten the whole, “oh it’s just because--” stuff before, so I know what it feels like to have people put on the pressure/invalidate you.
Tumblr media
YES.
IT’S GORGEOUS.
Tumblr media
I’m not really familiar with how holidays are celebrated outside of the bare basics of Christmas/New Year (which I am trying my hardest to forget lol), so I couldn’t say.
Sorry!
New Asks:
Tumblr media
10/10 thought, would fantasize again.
Though would also accept MC Audrey just doing some spring cleaning” of the whole staff in general. I have no idea how she’d replace Jeremy since he’s the company’s poster boy but most of the writers have to go at the very least and Jeremy should be given less power.
Tumblr media
I think MC Audrey would appreciate how Kagami carries herself, though potential bonus if - while Tom and Sabine just openly trust whatever Marinette wants - Audrey does a bunch of digging to make sure Kagami is “worthy” of being with Marinette (she takes this all very seriously).
Double potential bonus if Kagami takes it just as seriously, so here’s Audrey and Kagami acting as if Kagami dating Marinette is like some sort of job interview.
Kagami handing over a “resume” of her accomplishments to Audrey. Audrey has already looked all of it up herself but appreciates the effort put in.
Tumblr media
If the question in Miraculous is, “Do we really need a--” and the thing being introduced is something the staff came up with then the answer is usually “no.”
The movie will look pretty and that’s all I’ll expect. It’s just Jeremy’s take on Miraculous. Luka and Kagami probably won’t even be around so I’m not even interested.
I’ll watch it, but I’m also not interested lol.
Tumblr media
Honestly, I’d rather turn into bubble froth.
Tumblr media
oddly specific but... I mean, damn
Tumblr media
I have no idea, and I try not to throw around words like “spite ship” because I know people could genuinely like the ship, though I will say that I went on AO3 and - unless I read from - the first Maribat fanfiction on there was posted after the airdate of “Chameleon.” I think it might’ve started with inspiration from “Marinette moves schools” ideas at the very least.
Non-Miraculous Asks responding to previous posts:
Tumblr media
Oh, I understood, no worries! It was just funny for the split second it took me to figure it out.
Tumblr media
My bad, that’s not how I meant to come off (especially since “magical girl shows” is a little broad; I mean, obviously I don’t think something like Cardcaptor Sakura is aiming for fanservice when Sakura’s--like... ten). I answered all those asks in the last askplosion in the same day so my brain was a little fried by the time I got to that ask.
I’m not even talking about Sailor Moon either; it’s just that I knew there are shows with fanservice and there are certain magical girl outfits where I kind of give the side-eye.
Absolutely zero problem with girls fighting in pretty outfits though. I fully admit that I’m a bit of a prude so sometimes I see fanservice where there might not be any. Super short skirts without shorts, for example, inherently throw me off (shout-out to Saint Tail - which I discovered while looking up “pretty magical girl outfits” - because the main character does have a skirt in “magical girl” form but also tights/boots and a cute hat, which is one of the more unique ones I’ve seen).
Non-Miraculous Asks:
Tumblr media
Do you mean Sailor Moon Crystal? Yeah, the only reason I hesitate on Sailor Moon in general is because I’m not crazy about the transformed designs. It’s not really a matter of animation but more a design choice that takes me out of the experience.
I have seen all of Cardcaptor Sakura anime though, and then all of the Clear Card arc. I like the former, despise the latter, and I tried to keep up with the manga but once one of the big plot details were revealed, I officially dropped it.
As for Revolutionary Girl Utena, I looked it up a while ago and don’t remember what exactly turned me away. It might’ve been the darker tone though if what you say is accurate that it’s a darker take on a magical girl show.
Also, I may or may not have looked up the ending of at least Princess Tutu and I’m sorry, I’m sure it’s a great anime, but if there isn’t a happy ending then I give whatever anime a hard pass.
(note: yes, I realize the hilarity of saying that when I continue watching Miraculous)
-
(More Madoka Magica talk/salt below!)
Tumblr media
Ohhh, it started a trend? I had no idea since I don’t actively keep up with every anime out there; descriptions need to really pull me in (the only current anime I’m keeping up with is Hanyou no Yashahime, Otherside Picnic, and Cells at Work (Season 2)).
The focus on specific--uh--body parts in magical girl transformations also reminds me that I think that’s usually what kills it for me, not because of the sexualization but because I expect transformations (especially ones that get repeated over and over) to be really dynamic with changing angles and such, which is harder to do when the camera is trying to draw focus to specific places.
Obviously you have to do it for some moments (I’ve always imagined Miraculous transformations like a potential sheep or another one for rabbit, then rabbit!Jean from Leave for Mendeleiev and fox!Juleka from LadyBugOut) because things will be weird if you focus on nothing, but I think there are ways to draw the eye without trying to sexualize.
Not having Ladybug-esque bodysuits is a good start. It reminds me too much of the Catwoman with just a bodysuit so it leaves nothing to the imagination.
Tumblr media
How did I forget about that Sayaka scene? omg (though I dunno if the Bechdel Test is hard to pass if there aren’t really any endgame male love interests? are there rules about that? not saying a pass isn’t a pass but it feels like cheating)
It is nice when fans can respect the opinions of others without having to outright attack. I have had a few people come to me with, “I see your point/respect it even if I disagree,” instead of accusing me/others of--well, you get it.
Fandoms can be really messy, particularly as they get larger. I think there’s a certain balance between small fandoms that all know each other and a big fandom that’s out of control. Then there are things like “loud minority” and it’s just uggggh.
Anyway, back to the asks themselves, yeah, I’m not crazy about taking things that are just meant to be positive/cute/whatever and being like, “OKAY BUT WHAT IF IT WAS EDGY AND SAD.”
n o ,  p l z
Tumblr media
Oh, I’ve never heard of that one!
Sayaka dying didn’t really do anything for me either. It’s hard to explain when I saw it so long ago, but it was just Sayaka’s attitude about the whole thing and it made it feel underwhelming. It was a shame too because I liked her and she had potential.
She was Madoka’s friend so I was just like, “Yeah, she’ll die soon.” Probably didn’t help since I knew what I knew about the show being “dark.”
Tumblr media
Madoka/Sayaka is probably what I’d support the most out of all the potential shoujo ai ships. To my knowledge, none of them are really canon, though I remember a special song after the death Sayaka and Kyoko which I guess makes them the most canon and that did basically nothing for me since their relationship didn’t interest me (nor did I care for Kyoko as a character). The PSP game might have more intimate potential between the girls, but I never played them so I can’t make those claims (I only remember something about everyone potentially living and then a bad ending for Sayaka where part of her body was decayed when they didn’t get her soul gem back in time).
The tomboy argument makes me think back to a conversation with a friend of mine where we were discussing tomboys in anime and... we couldn’t really think of any? At least any that really qualify as “tomboy” for me.
Like, Misty from Pokemon, for example. I knoooooow everyone really likes Misty, but regardless of my opinion on her, it’s hard to see her as a tomboy.
I feel like they try to lean that way by making her super aggressive and violent (because... m E N) and I think Ash makes a comment once about her not being “like a girl,” but... I feel like that’s just how general “aggressive” female characters are written?
I mean, that’s tsundere female characters I’ve seen in general. Really loud (and not in a “gIrlS aRe sO lOuD aND ScReEcHY” way but like... the way anime gives them big heads while they scream at whatever male character they’re mad at), angry a lot, short fuse, etcetera.
But Misty is still crazy about clothes and dolls, she still gushes about cute things and romance, and both of those things seem pretty indicative of what “standard girl character” would be defined by, since they’re all “stereotypically girl thing” (I say stereotypically for obvious reasons since boys can like blah and girls can like blah and gender exclusivity is blah--). I get that she dresses differently, but that’s about it, and it comes off like, “she dresses differently and she’s ANGRY and VIOLENT, so she’s a tomboy,” which... yeah. They even gave her three beauty queen sisters with CURVES and BUSTS as if to say, “See?? These are GIRLS, not TOMBOYS.” (busty females can exist who are also tomboys, thank you have a nice day).
This becomes more complicated in magical girl anime since girly clothes are usually part of that so “tomboy” means that frills and skirts probably wouldn’t be a factor.
I mean, if you gave those sorts of outfits to me, I’d be like, “SCREW IT, I’M NOT A MAGICAL GIRL ANYMORE. IF LOOKING PRETTY IS REDUCED TO SKIRTS AND FRILLS, SOMEONE ELSE CAN SAVE THE WORLD.”
I’d also like to see some mixes between personalites and “tomboy” things. Like, non-stereotypical tomboy personalities doing tomboy things. Mix and match, y’know?
This was really rambly, but to answer the question... no, I wouldn’t count Sayaka as a tomboy.
Tumblr media
All of this.
I think it also exemplifies the whole “dark and edgy magical girl show” thing because... ugh, how do I put this...
The “girls are overly emotional” thing is already bad, but then you realize that there not being any magical boys is also because that doesn’t hit the “shock value” threshold as much.
Y’know, because boys equal dark and edgy shows, so if there was even one magical boy it wouldn’t be as shocking when Mami gets her head chomped. They could’ve done, “emotional teenagers are the target because they’re in that vulnerable stage; smarter and more physically capable than children, but not as mature/stable as adults,” but having some boys in there for balance (it makes me feel weird saying that when I’m all for girl power shows with an all female cast, but in this show’s logic, it’s a different ball game) would make the show seem less bright and “girly” and thus lessen the shock value.
Does that make sense?

If you want to be tagged whenever I post a new chapter of Doc’s story, please message me and let me know! Oh! Ad the italics are Docs thoughts (sorry if thats not clear, Im still a learner lol).
Length: ~2600 words (damn I did not mean to make it that long. I thought maybe 1000 lol)
Warnings: mentions of death, blood, abuse, pong krell, angst
Previous
It had taken more time than usual to get all of the field equipment back to the Jedi cruiser Tolerance. With so many men being lost, there were not as many hands to get the usual post battle procedures done and General Krell was not happy with the delay.
Doc had been called back to the cruiser before the rest of his men down on the surface to deliver the mission report to the Jedi council alongside the Besalisk Jedi. He had finished the troop requisitions and mission report hours ago and had begun helping the others load up equipment when he got the transmission.
Now, as he held onto the handle of the gunship that had been sent to pick him up, he held his breath. He had never spoken to the Jedi council before, but he had heard stories. He remembered hearing his captain talking about how intimidating it was. How even from across the galaxy, they could feel the slightest thing. How the combined power of all of those Jedi masters was a force to be reckoned with. At least, that is what the general had told his former captain.
He was afraid to face that much power. If the other Jedi were anything like his general, he wanted the meeting with them to go by as fast as possible.
He imagined what they might be like. He envisioned powerful warriors, all huge and intimidating like his general. With merciless eyes and a scowl that sent fear through the bodies of anyone who dared to look upon it. He imagined their lightsabers never being too far away from their hands, ready to be ignited and run through something or someone at a moment’s notice.
Doc was pulled from his thoughts when the voice of the pilot came through his comms and he felt the ship being maneuvered into the main hanger. “We’re here sir.” The doors opened as the ship was set down, revealing Krell waiting in the hanger with his arms crossed behind his back.
“Thanks for the lift Short-stuff,” Doc said as he stepped out onto the metal floor of the hanger.
“Anytime sir.” The doors to the ship closed behind Doc as he began walking away, his hands reaching up to take off his helmet. “Oh, and sir?”
Doc briefly stopped and looked up toward the cockpit, his hands halting on the sides of his head as the man stared back at him.
 “Good luck.”
Doc finished pulling off his helmet, a small smile gracing his features as he gave the pilot a quick nod.
“CT-5770, start moving! I have a mission report to give and will not be blamed for you making me late.”
Doc spun around, quickly making his way to follow the general out of the hanger. “Yes, sir. My apologies, sir.”
Krell dismissively waved his hand, not bothering to look behind him at Doc as he spoke. “Am I correct in assuming that you are ill equipped for this situation?”
Doc furrowed his brow, thinking through what he had already done. He had already turned in the mission report, and the casualty and damage reports. What more could he do to be prepared? “Excuse me, sir,” he asked, confusion lightly lacing his voice.
“Feeble minded clones,” Krell muttered under his breath. He stopped and spun around, looming over the captain. “You have never given a mission report to any Jedi before? Correct?”
Doc swallowed and stood straighter, coming to attention. “Yes, sir. That is correct, but all troops are trained on Kamino to be knowledgeable about—”
“Enough. I do not care about the laboratory that bred you or what you claim to know. Since you have never done it, let me give you some rules that I expect you to follow exactly. Is that understood?”
 “Of course, sir.”
“Good.” Krell turned back around and kept walking toward the bridge. “You are to stand behind me at all times unless told otherwise. Understood?”
 “Yes, sir.”
“You will remain silent and will only speak when spoken to directly by myself or the council.”
 “Yes, sir.”
“When you are asked a question, you stick to the description of the battle that I give. The council does not have time to listen to your view of the smaller picture. Is that clear?”
Doc hesitated for a moment. “Why would the battle descriptions be different?”
The door to the bridge whooshed open and Krell walked up to the command table. “Do I make myself clear CT-5770,” Krell snapped over his shoulder.
“Yes, sir,” Doc said, the hesitation still apparent in his voice.
Krell threw a cold look over his shoulder as he stepped back, waiting for the transmission to begin. “Good.”
Doc felt a shiver run down his back as he came to attention behind Krell. He took a deep breath, trying to calm his nerves, afraid that the Jedi council would be able to sense his fear of them. Or worse, that Krell would be able to sense his unease about his presence alone.
 “Incoming transmission from Coruscant, sir.”
 “Put it through.”
Nine blue figures suddenly appeared on the table and Doc’s eyebrows shoot up in surprise before he catches himself and returns to a neutral face.
They don’t look anything like Doc had imagined them. All of them are wearing soft looking robes with their hands resting gently in front of them. Their lightsabers are tucked away, either out on a hip, or hidden within the fabrics they wear, far away from the hands that might wield them.
They do not dress like warriors, not wearing any armor. Those that do only wear basic arm and leg guards.
None of them look particularly threatening, especially considering that one is not even as tall as Doc’s knee.
They all share the peaceful demeanor and kind eyes that one would find in the company of an old friend.
“This can’t be right,” he thinks to himself. “This has to be some kind of trick to get me to slip up. Jedi aren’t kind.”
Krell does a small bow. “Shall we wait for the other three members of the council to arrive, Master Yoda?”
Doc once again has to keep himself from making a face when the small creature directly across from Krell speaks.
“Masters Shaak Ti, Kenobi, and Billaba, busy they are with other matters. Hear your report without them, we will.”
“That’s Grand Master Yoda? The head of the Jedi Council? The Jedi who leveled nearly one thousand battle droids by himself?”
“Very well,” Krell said. “The mission was a success. The planet Castell is now under Republic control and a treaty has been drafted for the mining resources that the planet possesses. They have also agreed to a Republic base being built there should we desire it.”
The Jedi to the left of Master Yoda shifts. “Yes, however this battle did take longer than expected. This has set our timeline for the entire system back.”
 “I am aware, Master Windu.”
“And, many casualties your battalion has suffered,” Yoda said gravely.
“Yes,” Krell considered. “There were some… unforeseen circumstances that could not be avoided.”
 “Liar.”
“Hmm. A new captain you have gained I see,” Yoda said as he gestured to Doc.
Doc stiffened, the fear he had before returning to him.
“Yes,” Krell said. “The previous captain was killed on this campaign.”
“Hmm.” Yoda brought his hand up to his chin as he looked over Doc. “Step forward Captain.”
Doc swallowed and stepped forward, his body never leaving attention as he stared directly in front of him.
All the eyes of the council were on him. He could feel them looking over him, taking in everything that they could see of his fear filled body.
 “What is your name trooper?”
“My designation is CT-5770, sir,” he replied stiffly, not turning his eyes away from directly in front of him to look at the Jedi who had addressed him.
“Your name son,” came a different voice. It was soft and gentle, like the person it came from actually cared.
Doc faltered slightly, turning toward the voice to face the Kel-Dor Jedi. “It’s- It’s uhh, Doc, sir,” he said cautiously before turning back to attention.
 “Please, at ease be Captain.”
Doc looked back at Krell and was met with a neutral face, giving him no indication to stay at attention. Looking back at Yoda, he awkwardly shuffled into a stiff parade rest.
 “Captain Doc,”
Doc’s eyebrows shot up at the sound of his name being said by someone other than his brothers before he quickly forced them back down, hoping that none of the Jedi noticed. All of them did.
“Agree with Master Krell’s description of the battle, do you?”
 “No.”
“Yes, sir,” he said without hesitation, his fear of disobeying Krell’s rules pulsing in the back of his mind.
The council hesitated for a moment, all of the members on it exchanging quick glances before looking back at Doc.
“I sense much fear in you Captain,” the Kel-Dor Jedi said lightly.
Doc sucked in a breath, trying to quiet his mind.
The Kel-Dor leans forward, pointing at Doc. “You mustn’t be afraid to tell us information that we may not be pleased to hear.”
“Yes,” Yoda says. “Tell us the truth you must, so that better prepared we can be for future battles.”
Doc swallows, looking between the three Jedi who look at him with questioning faces.
“I do not fear telling you the truth Master Jedi,” he lies as he looks at each member of the council.
“So then Captain, tell us,” Windu says. “Do you agree with Master Krell’s description of the battle?”
Doc hesitates for a moment, looking back at Krell and seeing hard eyes staring back at him. He takes a deep breath, turning his attention back toward Master Windu.
“Well… I…” He quickly looks down, before bringing his head back up high.
The members of the council lean forward, urging him to finish his thought.
“I do think that there were ways we could have avoided so many casualties had we tried… different strategies.”
The Jedi all look at each other, nodding. “Then discuss that with your general, you will,” Yoda says.
He looks at Krell, whose expression Doc cannot see. “A discussion with your new captain, you will have. Then reassess the information you give in reports, you will. A discussion with you, I will have at a later date. Talk about what you and your captain agreed on, we will.”
Krell’s voice cuts through the tight tension that has taken over the bridge as the deck officers take turns staring at the meeting. “Yes, master.”
“Very good.” Master Windu looks around at all of the Jedi, who give him a soft nod. “Your next assignment will be transmitted to you within a few days. In that time, you are to travel to Kamino to pick up your new troopers.”
 “Understood.”
Windu nodded at Krell and then Doc. “May the Force be with you.”
One by one, the blue images of the Jedi faded out until only Yoda remained. “Much fear there is in you young one,” he said as he pointed at Doc. “Know not what it is you fear, but learn to control it, you must. Yes.”
Doc looks at the ground before looking back at Yoda, nodding his head. “I will try sir.”
“You will. Of that, certain I am.” He gives one final smile to Doc, and then his image disappears.
Doc steps back from the table and instantly spins around toward his general, frantically trying to apologize. “Sir, I am so sorry. I didn’t know that they would—”
Doc yelps as a huge arm hits him hard across the face, sending him tumbling backwards onto the ground. His helmet clatters as it hits the ground and is sent flying across the floor.
He can feel his left eye pulsing as blood rushes to the area that was hit. He looks up to see his general towering over him with rage filling his eyes and a snarl covering his face.
 “Sir, I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to—”
“You will stand at attention when you speak to me clone!” Krell’s voice booms out across the silent bridge.
Every pair of eyes stares at him in fear, while breath is held in anticipation.
Doc begins pushing himself off of the floor, sucking in a sharp breath. “Yes, sir,” he says meekly.
He comes back to attention, looking up at the furious Jedi, before Krell’s left arm comes up to backhand Doc once again, sending him to the floor.
“How dare you embarrass me in front of the council!”
Doc begins standing up once again, trying to come to attention. “I’m sorry sir! I didn’t mean to—”
He feels Krell’s fist on his face again before he can fully get up and is sent to the floor once again.
“Consider this a warning clone,” Krell says, his voice a menacing growl. “You will learn your place. Understood?”
Doc brings his hand to his lip as he slowly gets up. He pulls it away to see blood on his glove before pulling his hand down to come to attention. He looks up at Krell defiantly, his left eye already beginning to swell and obstruct his vision. “Yes, sir.”
Krell looks around at the troopers on the bridge that have been staring at them with wide eyes. “Understood?”
As quick as lightning, they all snap to attention before saying in unison, “Sir, yes sir!”
With that, Krell turned and began storming out of the bridge, stopping just before he got to the door. He turned around walking back up to Doc and getting in his space. “I still expect those reports to be filled out on time, Captain.”
“Of course, sir,” Doc says, keeping his voice level.
He watches Krell leave before looking around at the shocked and terrified faces of his brothers. He sighs, bringing his hand back up to his bleeding lip. “It’s alright,” he says softly, trying to comfort them. “Everyone just try to get back to your work so that this day might end a bit better than it began.”
He looks around, seeing all of the fear on his brothers faces as they silently turn back to their duties. None of them are much older than him. Maybe three of the men he can see are the same age as him, but the rest are all younger.
He sighs, trying not to think about how terrified they must be. He needs to be strong for them like his brothers were for him when he first began the never-ending nightmare of serving in the 904th.
 “Lieutenant,” he says.
 “Yes, sir?”
“I am going to go to the med bay. Could you have someone go to the captain’s quarters and bring the data pad here? I am going to work on the bridge once I am done.”
 “Of course, sir.”
Doc gives a small smile. “Thank you.” He lowers his voice. “Have someone notify me once the General has returned to his quarters for the night cycle. Once it has been cleared with me, begin phase one of the geode protocol. Can you do that?”
The lieutenant pulls back, his eyes lighting up slightly at the mention of the secret order. “Of course, sir.”
Doc puts his hand on the trooper’s shoulder, giving it a small squeeze. “Thank you.” He began to walk out of the bridge, stopping to turn back toward the lieutenant. “Comm me if anything is needed. Got it?”
 “Yes, sir.”
With that, Doc began his walk toward the medbay, his lip dripping blood onto his plain white armor the entire time.

So....I watched the live action Aladdin....and...
I actually liked it????
I mean, yeah, I would probably still say I prefer the original animation, but I still had a lot of fun with this adaptation.
Because it DID actually feel like an adaptation, not a remake. They didn’t just redo the same movie with all the same exact shots and all the same exact lines. Yeah, they keep a lot of the same story and character beats, but they also change things up too. They switch them around, or they do a similar scene but in a different location or a little bit different context because of a new scene before it. And they don’t try so hard to keep everything the same as the original so the new stuff actually makes sense for this version.
There are still some things I didn’t like as much, but it wasn’t enough to ruin it for me. Still, I wanna talk about them, so I’ll just make a list.
Things I liked:
- Will Smith as the Genie was great. He definitely made the character his own, and it seems like he had a lot of fun doing it. He’s great in all the scenes that he’s in, and Friend Like Me was very well done.
- I also really like how they expand on Aladdin and Genie’s friendship. All of their scenes are fun to watch. (Except for maaaybe the scene with Aladdin as Prince Ali meeting the Sultan and Jasmine. I was torn between awkward giggling and major secondhand embarrassment during that scene. “And what are you hoping to buy?” “You.” Me: Oh nooooooo)
- I’m also pretty okay with the changes to Jasmine’s character - again, because they make it make sense for this version. I was ready to roll my eyes because of some screenshots I saw of some interviews before the movie came out where they act like they HAD to change Jasmine because she was just a princess stereotype or something because she never mentioned wanting to be Sultan or whatever (which is just...dumb, and I’m so very tired of Disney princess bashing but ANYWAY). The movie itself is what matters most when watching, not some dumb interviews, and so taking the movie in its own context, I enjoyed the arc Jasmine goes through. It works for this version of the character, and I’m really happy to be able to say that both Original Jasmine and New Jasmine are great.
- And of course I enjoy expanding on the relationship between Aladdin and Jasmine as well. Their scenes are fun.
- The change to Iago being more of a normal bird is also fine. He still has some funny moments.
- It’s a small moment, but I like that after Aladdin goes back on his promise to set the Genie free, he returns to his old home and we get a new little reprise of One Jump Ahead. That was a nice touch.
- Also, I don’t know if it was intentional on the costume designer’s part, or if it’s just me over-thinking, but I think it’s kinda neat. Anyway, we know that the bracelets on Genie’s wrists are a symbol of his imprisonment to the lamp. He is not free to do whatever he wants whenever he wants; he is bound to his life of being stuck in a lamp and giving three wishes to whoever lets him out.
Now, who else also has an important bracelet in this movie? Jasmine, the princess who is trapped in a life of rules and tradition, where questions and change are not allowed. She says herself she is not free to see the world. She, like Genie, is bound to a circumstance and situation she does not want to be in.
Again, not sure if I’m just over-thinking too much, since Jasmine’s bracelet is something she cherishes since it was her mother’s. But still, I think it’s a nice parallel between the two.
Mixed like/dislike:
- The new song, Speechless, is really nice and I like it. But it does feel a little out of place to me. It doesn’t quite fit with the style of the original songs. But it’s fits well with Jasmine’s arc in this one, so I still enjoy it.
- Jafar is....meh? I don’t entirely hate the changes to his character. In fact, I like the idea of him formerly being a thief like Aladdin and somehow clawing his way up the hierarchy to gain more power and prestige. It’s an interesting parallel, and it adds nicely to Aladdin’s arc. But other than that, he’s really kind of...boring? Sure, the original Jafar isn’t really deep or anything, but he at least is a pretty intimidating and terrifying villain. This Jafar is just...a dude who doesn’t really show a lot of emotion. He’s not particularly scary or intimidating.
- The Sultan is also kinda meh? It’s not terrible that they made him a little more serious of a character (makes more sense here than it did with live action Maurice tbh) (sorry I had to throw at least a little shade at the 2017 Beauty and the Beast remake at SOME point okay I am only human)
I do like the scenes at the end with him and Jasmine, especially when you see him tearing up while watching her stand up to Jafar. It’s really sweet.
Things I didn’t like:
- Wow, the Cave of Wonders really is dull in this one. Obviously they don’t need to make it exactly like the original, but making it just a motionless cave entrance is a huge downgrade.
- I don’t really like that they change the line in the Prince Ali song from “Heard your princess was a sight lovely to see” to “Heard your princess was hot. Where is she?” Just.....why? The original line is still talking about her appearance (albeit in a nicer way), so she can still roll her eyes and walk away like she does in the original. So the change is dumb.
- It does feel like in some moments they gloss over some things just because they know we’ve seen the original. I mostly noticed this in a few small moments, like Aladdin giving the kid his bag of dates. In the original, that moment is lingered on a little bit longer. He’s getting ready to eat, and then he sees the two kids. We get a few seconds to see him deciding on what to do, and so when he ultimately decides to give his food to the kids instead of keeping it for himself, it’s a strong moment that shows the audience the kind of person Aladdin is. Even after all that trouble just for a loaf of bread, he’s still willing to give it to someone else. (And the scene is made even better with the way Abu begrudgingly gives up his loaf of bread, which is also a great character moment for him.)
Of course, since this is an adaptation of the original, we know Aladdin already. And to be fair, it’s not entirely necessary in this version, since we get him meeting Jasmine before the moment with the kid happens, so it doesn’t have to be a big character moment. But it was just kinda funny to me that this version is just like “Okay, I just traded a necklace I stole for two bags of dates... Oh, there’s a kid here? Aw, okay, kiddo, here. Bye now!”
And then immediately after we get the scene with Aladdin and the pompous prince. Only here it also feels like it’s just kinda thrown in quickly since it was from the original. Aladdin and the snobby prince don’t really have any back and forth banter in this one though. Aladdin saves a kid from being run over, says a line, and then the prince is just like “Why are you talking to me? You’re worthless. Bye.” Like, c’mon, I love the line where Aladdin calls him a horse butt, why leave it out? lol
These are the two I remember the most, and obviously, I’m nitpicking a little bit here. Glossing over these scenes didn’t ruin the movie for me or anything.
---
I think that’s it? That’s all I can think of right now.
So yeah, I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed this film. I still wish they’d stop this live action trend, but at least this does show they ARE capable of making these good too when they actually try. A good production value means nothing if you’re just doing the exact same thing you already did.
Make changes! Focus on the characters! Understand the characters! Have some fun!
I know you’re capable of making good versions of these live action movies, Disney. So do that, please.

Eden-6!!
I am. so fucking tired. but I’m also late asf for Eden-6 stuff to the point it got its video release, so here I am playing catch up.
tl;dr: swamp planet!! we get some cool shots of Alitair and Aurelia, i, surprise surprise, still do not trust mr. wainwright, i tried to form an argument that these ruins we see across the planet are abandoned Atlas facilities/ships, but ~who knows~. also i would (and probably will) die for the saurians. i love them so much. one of them has a funky bone hat. it’s great. also also “stop the CoV before they gain control” [looks at trailers and behind closed doors intro] ... uh oh gamers...
Tumblr media
“A backwater swampland of a planet, and family home of the Jakobs clan. Eden-6 is covered by lush greenery and stagnant waters, dotted with occasional settlements and the rusted hulks of crashed spaceships. Civilization has never fully taken hold here, and indigenous dangers including ravenous Saurians and semi-sentient Jabbers effectively rule the planet. As if you didn't already have enough to worry about, the Children of the Vault have a presence here as well.”
im excited for the abandoned spaceships, those things look fucking bad. ass.
Tumblr media
Ambermire I am guessing is one of the more swampy areas? Jakob’s Manor is obvious, and Fort Sunshine I’m guessing is that abandoned facility we’ve been seeing around the trailers. unfortunately we don’t get too good of a look at the fortress (shakes fist at gearbox) but we do get some other stuff!
im gonna go over the instagram video first because the pics are a treat so we’re saving them for last.
sorry for the progress bars btw lol
Tumblr media
i fucking love that gas giant. so much.
Tumblr media
swamps are one of my least favorite biomes, but i know gearbox is going to make me love it.
Tumblr media
also a look at one of the crashed ships! (i assume) looks like Atlas to me. Or old Hyperion, but tbh idk why Hyperion would be on Eden-6. so Atlas it is.
Tumblr media
a look at one of the settlements. i really love the contrast between this planet and Promethea and Athenas.
Tumblr media
those gross pod things on the right? idk if they’re egg sacs or plants or what but i both hate them and love them. also whatever that is glowing on the bottom left. i wanna touchy
Tumblr media
Jakobs manor!! honestly a lot less extravagant in the front than i was expecting. also now we know this one shot
Tumblr media
is definitely not in front of Jakobs Manor. could be the back entrance or smth tho. looks like it leads into a garden-y area.
Tumblr media
my question is, is it a Jakobs thing to enjoy hunting? because it seems like it’s a Jakobs thing to enjoy hunting. also i don’t trust Jakobs. I know I’ve said that, like, a bajillion times, but i don’t. and those metal cowboy-lookin’ robots are totally theirs.
Tumblr media
im just surprised the Hammerlocks are living in the Manor. I assumed they were like... visiting. now im pretty convinced mr. wainwright down here is evil because only Alistair is on Sanc-III and we’re all assuming that the Sanc-III demo (not the more recent one) takes place after Athenas, right?
and OMG YES lilith’s tattoos aren’t visible in the newest video on sanc-iii!! im hoping that means she gets her powers back!! im giddy to look over it 30 times i cannot wait. but one post at a time.
Tumblr media
evil. evil man.
Tumblr media
he either dies or he’s evil i don’t trust him and hammerlocks eye shouldn’t be red in the We Are Mayhem trailer i just... im so suspicious of this man.
Tumblr media
AURELIA i love her so much. she was great in TPS, one of my mains. her new outfit is popping, i love the boots.
Tumblr media
also she has 2 ice diadem shards now and im terrified yet oddly happy for her.
Tumblr media
ALISTAIR. i legitimately thought he was on Promethea at first, then i realized this is probably part of the abandoned facility/fortress. shame we don’t get a closer look at it.
also look who’s eye is back to being not-red again!
Tumblr media
also the writing on the back there makes me even more convinced this is Atlas facility. on Promethea, the parts of the Meridian city are labeled with these unique symbols (so far i’ve seen blue and red) and this red one looks like it fits the mark perfectly.
Tumblr media
these look like the same canisters from the mine on Pandora. whatcha pumpin eden-6?
Tumblr media
more red plants. i like how different this can look from athenas, yet still have very similar foliage. outstanding move, gearbox.
Tumblr media
is that another crashed ship in the background??? yes pls. also this dude’s face paint is giving me huge Mask of Mayhem vibes, I love it.
Tumblr media
the inside of Jakobs Manor
Tumblr media
i hate to tell you this mr. gearbox sir but im pretty sure they do
Tumblr media
yeesh.
also that one scene of troy in the manor as well
Tumblr media
dis one
is that the globe in the background? anyone know? im trying to remember where the fuck ive seen that shot of the library/globe. hmmmmmmmmmm
Tumblr media
it is not the globe whump whump. i am excited to explore this library tho.
Tumblr media
what looks like fishing net on the right? wild
also car!!
Tumblr media
no wings/fins like in the Mask of Mayhem trailer tho, that sucks.
Tumblr media
i like this dude. especially his face paint.
i like this glowing crystals even more tho
Tumblr media
purple crystals that mimic troy’s red ones? me likey.
eridium? maybe! slag to chug when u need more power? maybe! i don’t know!
Tumblr media
j̷̧̭͙̹̭̀̽͆̕͘u̸̦͌̃͛̕̕s̴̡̰͙̣͊̂̔t̴͇̪͐ͅ ̸̭̐́w̵̧̯̲͊̀̃̄̕a̵̢͓̎́̏̓t̷̪̓̑̎͜c̶̢̢͔̀h̴̥̬̪̫̫̿ ̶̪̬̞̼͐̾̉͐̒ơ̵̼̋̍̓̕u̵̻̪̞̞̺̐̾̀̚͠t̶͉̠̟͉̪̋̈̿ ̶̢̗̗͑f̵̰̫͇̈̾ọ̴͑r̶̢͕̺͈͎̃̌͘ ̸̩͆̏̅a̸͈̙̪̋̏ǹ̷̮͚͍̽͜ģ̵̠̀̍̋̔r̴̪̦̾̇̕͠y̷̘͖̜̿͑̅̀ͅ ̷̬̱͉̗͌̇j̵̹͇̽͗̕ā̸̳͇͈̠̺b̴̰̏͜b̴̘͗̔e̷͖̓͊r̸͍̫̻̊͆̊s̸̛̙̳͔̗̋̓͝
also check that glowy light in the background. totally Atlas.
also also i like they have little hanging nest/house things. those are really cute.
Tumblr media
this motherfucker is coming at us with a sledgehammer ffs
Tumblr media
i like their tiger stripe designs. they blend in with the leaves, which i guess is an evolutionary advantage all things considered.
Tumblr media
I LOVE THESE FUNKY LITTLE MOTHERFUCKERS
Tumblr media
LOOK AT THIS DUDE!!! HE’S GOT A BONE HAT! I LOVE HIM!!!
Tumblr media
AND THEY FUCKING BREATHE FIRE??
Tumblr media
GLOWING YELLOW EYES!!!
Tumblr media
A SPLIT JAW! WHO DOESN’T LOVE THESE LITTLE DUDES???
i fucking love Saurians holy shit
okay okay okay okay
picture time 😎
Tumblr media
i love the skybox on Eden-6, holy shit it’s beautiful. also, those sacs/plants/fungi or whatever are definitely volatile.
Tumblr media
look at that one glowing red one. that’s totally going to deal some fuckin fire damage to whatever touches it and i for one am ready
also.
Tumblr media
can we get an F in chat for Eden-6? lmao i remember being like ‘oh look a gas giant’ in my analysis of every museum of mayhem piece and COMPLETELY FORGETTING that eden-6 has a gas giant directly beside it. big brain fart there.
Tumblr media
holy shit i love the color schemes for these things. i know there are blue ones as well, but these orange/yellow/red ones are FANTASTIC. i especially love the shiny yellow ones. they’re so pretty!!
Tumblr media
we also get a mostly obscured window in the back there
Tumblr media
possibly part of the abandoned facility? but more than likely just part of a crashed ship.
like (im assuming) this one!
Tumblr media
the doors match up to Sanctuary-III quite well. also the bones on the ground. i love the regrowth aesthetic they’ve got going on here.
also apparently ratches have made their home here. these things are fuckin everywhere. they’re like the new rakk holy shit
Tumblr media
MY BEAUTIFUL BOYS
look at the one on the bottom right! those blue markings are fuckin stunning and i love the little fins on the sides of his head
and that giant skeleton in the background? that’s some good shit right there! im hoping those are fireflies/some sort of glowing insect around the front there. so we can have pockets of glowing orbs dancing around the map as we explore.
Tumblr media
oooo
i really like the hulls of the ships, the one on the far left and the one in the back right.
Tumblr media
im mostly interested in this tree. i wonder if it just regrew around some debris or if this is making the stuff on this planet grow wildly out of control. I’m always down for science gone wrong! and with atlas, pretty much anything could go horribly wrong. that’s just their way of doing things.
anyway it is 4 in the am and i am tired, so im gonna pass tf out now and hopefully do Fl4k’s trailer, and a few other posts i gotta catch up on, tomorrow! so hyped for fl4k info!!

Hey, I was wondering if the characters you make are for your own campaigns, or campaigns you play in. You inspire me to create my own unique characters and I was wondering if you had any tips on how to incorporate "complex characters" into a campaign. I feel like I'd just get on the DM's/Player's nerves...
First off, thanks for being the first person to ever send me an ask on here, lol. And you have no idea how happy I am to hear that I inspire you in any way, let alone to make your own characters and go above and beyond the call of duty with them. Apologies in advance for the massive response. I can be an extremely long-winded person when it comes to things I’m passionate about.
Anyway, all the characters I’ve made for D&D have been for player roles…never been a DM myself (but maybe some day). Unfortunately, your fears about getting on the DM’s / other player’s nerves by playing weird, complicated characters aren’t exactly unfounded. The DMs I’ve played with could talk your ear off with stories about the difficulties they’ve had dealing with my shenanigans. But despite all the trouble I cause, the DMs and players I’ve played with still really enjoy playing with me and love my characters (or at least that’s what they tell me). Here’s what I’ve learned from my experiences as far as your concerns of being able to flex your creative muscles and still get along with the other people who have to put up with you. These rules apply to any situation, but they go double for playing weird characters.
Rule #1: COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR FELLOW PLAYERS AND ESPECIALLY WITH YOUR DM.
This is probably the most important rule. It’s essential that you learn what the people you’re playing with are and are not ok with and to make sure you’re all on the same page. Because playing a nonstandard character not only puts added challenge on yourself, but on everyone else that has to play around you as well. So make sure your fellow players and especially the DM know exactly what they’re in for with your character and that they’re completely ok with it before committing to anything. And be willing to make concessions for them as well if they’re not comfortable with anything. Sometimes people will be apprehensive to go along with something they’re not used to, especially if they don’t have much reason to trust you won’t screw it up or do it for the wrong reasons. And there are things you can do to help ease those fears, but don’t push too hard, especially on your first time with a group.
The first proper campaign I was ever in, my DM wanted to limit it to only human characters for the first go around because most of us were inexperienced and he didn’t want to take any chances. But I wasn’t really too interested in the setting and felt I needed something to anchor my interest. I was really interested in homebrewing (still am) and had a slime character (Chu) who I designed for another non-D&D project but unfortunately got left on the cutting room floor, so I wanted to give her a chance to shine in this new setting. I don’t necessarily recommend anyone going this ham on their first campaign, but I’d been writing and designing characters for years before I picked up D&D, so I felt pretty confident that I could pull it off.
I knew homebrewing a completely custom race on my first campaign was definitely going to raise a lot of red flags, so I wanted to make things as easy as possible for the DM and help him feel comfortable that I knew what I was doing before asking him to trust me. I first asked what the setting was and made sure this character would actually fit naturally without compromising what the DM had already set up. Then I thoroughly studied the guidebook for the system and setting we were playing in and wrote up an entire guide going through every aspect of how this character would function both in terms of mechanics and lore (which years later turned into my Slime Guide that I’ve posted here). Then I pitched it to the DM to see if he’d even be ok with the idea, then sat down with him to go over my guidebook together and figure out what needed to be changed or rebalanced. When that was all approved, I talked to the other players and told them what I had in mind and asked if they were all cool with it, which they were. So we went ahead with it and we all had a blast with that campaign (literally…a lot of stuff blew up, my poor slime girl was traumatized).
You don’t necessarily have to go to such extreme lengths yourself, but just communicate with the others, make sure they’re ok with what you want to do before you do it, and be willing to make concessions and work with them to make sure everyone’s happy, because D&D is a collaborative effort and it’s not very fun for anyone if some people aren’t having a good time.
Rule #2: Try to put as much of the strain of dealing with your character on yourself and not on other people as possible.
Coordinate with the DM and the other players to figure out what their general plans are. Make sure you’ve got a character that will logically fit in with the party and the world they’ll be adventuring in, and will at least mostly get along with their fellow party members. Nobody wants to have to play babysitter and hold up the adventure or force their characters or world to behave in a way that’s unnatural or metagame-y to try to come up with some reason for the one character who doesn’t gel with anyone or make sense as a member of the party to not just follow the logical path and split from the party. Don’t be afraid to let your characters fight and have disagreements with other player characters here and there, but your characters should always have something that makes them fit into the party naturally and binds them with their fellow adventurers enough to overcome almost any fight or disagreement. Hell, I’ve had multiple situations where my character had a falling out with the party and almost left. But I always have at least one thread that will bring my character back on their own in case the rest of the party doesn’t naturally bring my character back themselves. Never put the onus on the DM or other players to keep your character in the party unless you’re prepared to lose that character.
Similarly, you don’t wanna play a character that’s just not going to fit in with the setting and will ruin the immersion for everyone. If you want to play a cyborg in a medieval fantasy setting, you need to have a good reason for it that everyone else is completely on board with. If your party is on a grand quest to help the local dwarf community raise money to build an orphanage, it’s probably not a good idea to play a character who despises dwarves and/or children. And if you want to play as a monster character in a setting where the average person is hostile towards monsters, your fellow players had better be playing some pretty chill dudes, and your character had better have some way to pass the time they’ll spend sitting out in the woods while the rest of the party heads into town to get supplies unless you’re real good at disguising your monstrousness or think you can outrun the crowds armed with torches and pitchforks (this actually happened to one of my characters, fun times).
Rule #3: Just follow basic etiquette and have fun.
It’s alright to make mistakes and accidentally step on someone’s toes every now and then. It happens to the best of us. Just establish at the outset that you first and foremost just want to have a good time with everyone and get along. Clearly establish your own boundaries from the start and respect other people’s. Make it clear that you’re willing to listen to complaints and concerns and work with people to resolve them before they get out of control, and absolutely make sure you behave in a way that people will be comfortable with bringing this stuff up to you and talking about it without fear of hurting your feelings or causing a negative reaction.
Basically, as long as you consider the feelings of your fellow players and DMs, do a good job of communicating, and make sure everyone is on the same page as far as boundaries and what they want out of the experience, you’re gonna be solid. Because even if you do screw something up, everyone should understand that it was just an honest mistake and know that you’ll learn from that mistake and fix it for next time.
It’s all about building trust (giving and receiving). Because people who trust that you know what you’re doing and have the best intentions in mind are gonna be a lot more willing to let you try out your crazy ideas and play along with them. I almost exclusively play weird, nonstandard characters and early on, every character I pitched was met with an exasperated “Oh my god, why do you do this to me?” from my main DM. But I consistently followed these rules, proved that I know how to make and play fun characters that have a positive impact on the campaigns they’re in, and built up that trust with my group. And now everyone has a blast playing with me and interacting with my characters. I’ve even inspired some of my friends to flex their creativity and delve into the weirder side of character creation.
Sorry again for the light novel, lol. I hope this helped you and anyone else that took the time to read all this. And I’m always open to answer questions!

What do you think of bleach's ending?
Tumblr media
How cool to be asked about my fave manga before Naruto. But first let me say that I haven’t followed the last 2 arcs with the same interest I had for Naruto’s, so my impression is not as deep. Also how does it work in the Bleach fandom? I take there are antis and wars and hate everywhere? But all my ship hate/ending criticism is tagged as anti, if someone has a problem with it anyway I couldn’t care less.
Ok first of all I don’t remember a lot of details, and I didn’t get others lol, cause Bleach fight scenes are confusing and arcs are repetitive, it’s like Kubo has nice ideas when it comes to style and design but he is lazy with narration. Especially in the last 2 arcs. For example Yamamoto dying and being replaced by Kyoraku was ok, but Ukitake and the whole Mimihagi thing..not sure if I liked it. The Unohana/Jinpachi plot twist was kinda cool but I why did she had to die ugh I kinda shipped them. Also where the hell is Yachiru in the end? AND KIRA? I forgot about the Vizard but I like them. Oh and what the hell happened in the final fight between Ichigo and Yhwach? It was so confusing? I never really liked Aizen but him released to fight alongside Ichigo was a cool move. If only I understood what happened, that is.
I didn’t get some fights but I liked the new interaction certain fights provided, like older Bankai Toshirou and Byakuya’s panel in ch672, or Byakuya and Shuuhei against that heart throwing guy whose name I forgot.
What I always liked about Bleach was the style, I really like how sleek and powerful Kubo draws his characters, I like how diverse he made the different races, with different language based words and stuff, the music references, the poetry Kubo put in his writing, he’s got an artist-like vibe imo, more than other mangakas. Anyway I like his female characters better than Naruto’s, cause they have a more independent and interesting personality, although I have a problem with Rukia’s hairstyle and with Orihime’s anything. Actually I don’t even hate her, as a comic side character she was funny, but as a heroine? Just give me Rukia, Tatsuki, Matsumoto, even Momo, but not her. But I don’t make the rules and shounen law needs the main character to get together with big tits/whiny girl.
So as you can tell I don’t like the main canon pairing. I liked Ichiruki much better cause there was an actual deep friendship between them, from day 1, a strong bond with mutual feelings of trust and affection. Mutual. And they were equals, there was no weak girl to be protected cause Rukia had first given Ichigo the power. But from a logical pov I guess they’re from different worlds so the pairing wouldn’t work considering the future. Rukia would have had to do like Ichigo’s father, giving up to her shinigami powers and all. It would have been romantic and kinda Inuyasha-esque.
Not considering Ichiruki, if pairings had to exist (cause a manga can actually end without characters getting married, even tho mangakas seem to forget it) I’d have liked Ichigo with Tatsuki. Sorry I like strong characters getting with strong characters. And don’t give me the ‘Ori/hime is strong’ cause her strength is different, hyped up by the narration and anyway even considering her kind of strenght she would have matched other kinds of characters better. I liked her with Ulquiorra lol, back in the days. Cause he was like a child, pure in a way, about emotions and feelings, while she was knowledgeable. I also liked her with Ishida. A lot. They had mutual respect and a relationship in which they were equals, so I’d have liked them together much better.
I gotta say though, that I like Ishida alone in the end. He was a Sasuke sort of character, seeking revenge for his clan, being in conflict with his father (since he doesn’t have a brother) in the beginning, rival to the protagonist, joining the dark side at some point. I actually liked his plot twist when he joined the Quincy Army, I liked his backstory, his mother and all (also the soap opera-ish triangle sort of story between his father, Ichigo’s mother and the maid-his mom…like. It really looked like a soap), and I would have liked to know more about his time there cause it was interesting. His fight agaisnt Jugram was cool too. Also he delivered the realest line ever and you guys know how much I love animals and animal-loving characters. I’d love to see that scene animated tbh…also because Ishida’s voice actor is Sasuke’s and hearing him talking that way of animals would be so cool cause both characters share that trait.
I kinda liked Jugram too, and his past with Bazz-B, and the way his fight with Ishida ended. tbh he was the only Sternritter I liked. Oh well I didn’t dislike the fear based one fighting Byakuya cause it gave us so much fanservice, bloodied wounded Byakuya, as well as the later part where we see Byakuya unconscious and all bandaged up floating in water…or Renji naked and bandaged as he wakes up. Speaking of which, I’m a Byaren shipper but mostly I ship Renji with everyone lol, Renji is my favourite character, he’s amazing and underrated, his backstory and personality and bonds were really interesting and it was a pity that he was put aside as the story progressed, as a side character and even more so as a kinda comical sidekick, cause he has a light side but his story wasn’t a light one but if I start talking about him this post will never end I guess, anyway he was deep and selfless, a rebel but also loyal and his relationships, major or minor ones (even with Kira and Momo, or with Ikkaku who taught him how to fight when they were in the 11th division together, cause Renji changed so many!) were all cool. (like, I’m looking at Renji wikia for a detail and I’m back to the old feelings for him)
So even tho I didn’t ship Renruki I was glad to see the way it was done. The final chapters kinda showed them getting closer (like Ichihime that was being blatantly pushed onto the reader, also after the Naruto ending I was suspecting a similar ending so) and they’re both shinigami so their pairing was technically easier than Ichiruki…also his feelings for Rukia, his loyalty and protectiveness and respect for her are beautiful and I like the idea that during the time Ichigo had no powers Rukia and Renji got closer. Also I hate the whole forced kids anime trend but I liked them as parents and their kid a lot, cause they didn’t change personality at all, in fact they’re chill parents, kinda reckless and kinda boastful, you can tell they have a nice complicity and that they’re happy. I think this is the only canon pairing I’ll ever like tbh.
I like that Ichigo took over his father’s clinic, a small one, while Ishida became an important medic. I never liked Sado but the group getting together ad Ichigo’s place to see the match was a cool idea imo. It has the element Naruto’s ending lacked, cause it put together the old group, showing that despite time passed they’re still friends.
Hope this answers your question, thanks for asking, I had a lot of fun replying to this!

Which were Elizabeth's most important achievements as Queen? Was her reign positive or negative? As a Queen, was she better or worse than monarchs of other countries such as Spain or France? And a final question: What was her role in the matter of poor people, Poor Laws, charity systems, etc.? Was it positive or negative?
Sorry that this comes so late. I was very busy these past few weeks and you ask many and very big questions that took quite a time for me to formulate the answer (not least because I struggle to put my thoughts in English lol), and tbh I’m not entirely happy with the outcome… but anyway here we go.
For starters. Elizabeth was an unmarried woman of questionable legitimacy who ruled and held power for 44 years and in the process raised her country’s international standing in the age when religious differences created by the Reformation in the first half of 16th century had grown into religious wars in the second and had shaken traditional waysof worship and living, and when “the law of England did not recognize any status for the average woman beyond daughter, ward, wife or widow”. In my opinion, it’s an impressive achievement in itself. And when I see people belittling Elizabeth and claiming that anyone could have done that and more, I’m like - no, guys, not anyone. Mary Stuart across the border couldn’t and was deposed despite having a son and heir. Neither Catherine de Medici as politically astute as she was, nor her sons one of whom was assassinated  couldn’t prevent their country slipping into religious wars between catholic and huguenot factions. This didn’t happen in England. Elizabeth was a remarkable and resilient leader who knew how to manage power and created a strong team of men around herself, a strong government. I posted here some time ago, in my opinion, a very apt quote on Elizabeth’s virtues and strengths as a monarch.
If I look at Elizabeth’s contemporaries I would compare her to Philip II. Philip had an enormous advantage of being a man of unquestionable legitimacy and trained for kingship that Elizabeth hadn’t (she needed to learn along the way by herself) and Philip’s Iberian realms weren’t affected by the Reformation so much as England but I think in some ways they were similar. I recall Philip’s biographer Geoffrey Parker comparing them in the book on the Spanish Armada writing that Elizabeth’s practice of seeking the opinion of each her councilor individually was similar to Philip’s style of government. Only Philip usually did that in writing, while Elizabeth - verbally. They both faced challenges during their reigns (although not quite of the same character) and both held their countries together with similar methods.
So besides that basic one I would say her most important achievements were:
Religious settlement of 1559 together with the Thirty Nine Articles that set the doctrine of the Church of England.
Expansion of trade, especially to the Mediterranean world, Muslim world, the Baltic, India, America. To achieve that she worked in a close partnership with merchants and as David Loades put it she set her country’s “commercial development on a course that was eventually to be spectacularly successful”.
Maintenance of peace for a lengthy period of time that apart from the other stuff contributed to the growth of population.
Modernization of the navy. According to Patrick Williams: “From the very beginning of her reign Elizabeth showed an intuitive understanding of the need to defend herself and her realm through the use of naval power. In the year of her accession Elizabeth established a commission of enquiry to investigate the condition of the navy. (..) Elizabeth asked her first parliament for money for “the continual maintenance of the English Navy’ so that it could ‘be ever in readiness against all evil happs; the strongest wall and defence that can be against the enemies of this island’. So that the navy could be properly organized and controlled, Elizabeth developed the structure of the Navy Board, ordering it to meet at least once a week and to report to the Lord Admiral. She developed the principle that a dozen or so ships should be always on standby to be ready for mobilization at a fortnight’s notice and had the officers of the Navy Board work towards standardizing guns on her ships and organizing a system of providing victuals in time of war and peace. In providing for the navy, Elizabeth broke with her habitual parsimony; in the years 1564-74 she spent about six and a half per cent of her income on the navy.”x The most important changes took place in the 1570s “when the queen’s shipwrights introduced a new design, known as ‘race built’, which involved a reduction in the ‘castles’ fore and aft, sleeker lines and a longer gundeck. The ships now carried fewer soldiers and a far larger complement of seamen, so their rigs and sail-plans could be made more complex and efficient”.x Many old ships were rebuilt to this new design.
Also, recoinage of 1560-61; and for some historians it’s also the development of a military system. Thus Simon Adams in his essay ‘England and the World under the Tudors, 1485-1603′ claims that “the modernization of the Crown’s military forces was one of the great under-appreciated achievements of the reign. This was a slow process that began in the wars of Edward VI’s reign and was not complete until the 1580s. Its two great successes were the substantial English contingent in the Dutch army after 1585 and the reformed militia. The former were the equals of the best of the Continental professionals, while the latter, however flawed, was like - the Poor Law - a precocious experiment in the creation of a national system quite unparalleled on the Continent.”
On the matter of the poor. The population expansion during the century and the lack of agricultural land to support people led to increase of the number of poor, and the widespread belief that the poor were just lazy and idle people, the war with Spain and bad harvests of the 1590s didn’t help either. Elizabeth’s and her government’s response to this problem was the Poor Laws. I posted a quote on them here which sums them up nicely. The fact that the acts of 1597 and 1601 remained the basis of poor relief in England for more than two centuries underlines their importance and I think they were the steps towards the modern state.
Also, I found that Ian Mortimer states in his book that from her royal revenue Elizabeth gave away “no less than £ 2,000 in alms” but I don’t quite get is it meant to be in the whole period of her reign or not. He cites as his source The State of England Anno Dom. 1600 by Thomas Wilson ed. by F. J. Fisher but I have no access to this source.
As for your question about positive or negative I don’t believe that the reign of any of these early modern rulers can be described in such black and white terms. There were both positive and negative things.

1-70 do em all! 😁💙
I’m seriously so sorry this took so long, but it was so much fun!! thank you!!! Also it’s super long so I’m gonna put it under a readmore!
1. First game you played obsessively?
Jak & Daxter! 2. A game that has influenced you creatively? Writing, drawing, etc.Lmao I’m not exactly a creative person, but when I was little I tried coming up with and drawing my own pokemon. They were… bad3. Who did you play with as a kid?My brother! At first I stole his Gameboy Color whenever he wasn’t using it, but then he saved up and bought a PS2 so we could play games together4. Who do you play with now?No one really lol. I kinda prefer to play single-player games now? But I’ll play with various friends when we hang out.5. Ever use cheat codes? When I was little, yeah! Especially in the Sly Raccoon games 6. Ever buy strategy guides? Before the age of unlimited free online strategy guides I did, now I just use said online ones7. Any games you have multiple copies of?Yep, I’ve “lost” games only to find them again after replacing them like… four times? It happened with Oblivion, Fable 3, DA: Origins, and, weirdly enough, that one obscure (but fun imo!) wii game, Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon8. Rarest/Most expensive game in your collection? This one was hard! After a teeny bit of research, I narrowed it down to either Rule of Rose, LoZ Collector’s Edition on Gamecube, and pokemon red and yellow9. Most regrettable purchase?Hhhhhhhh I bought the video game for the 2006 Dreamworks movie Over the Hedge. I was only 12, but I still should’ve known better :(10. Ever go to a midnight game release or stand in line for hours?I’ve gone to a few midnight releases, but none that have lasted for hours, luckily. I only started going to them in the last few years, so the only ones I’ve been to so far are Fallout 4, DA:I and uh… ME:A (I KNOW)11. Have you ever made new friends from playing video games?Nah not really, I don’t play online games, so. I have friends who play video games, but I’ve never met someone BECAUSE of video games12. Ever get picked on for liking games?Lol no?13. A game you’ve never played that everyone else has?Overwatch14. Favorite game music?NIER, hands down. 15. If it was a requirement to get a game related tattoo, what would you pick?Probably something cute and harmless like the leaf from Animal Crossing lol16. Favorite game to play with your friends IRL?Lately we’ve been really into Towerfall: Ascension and Screencheat17. Ever lose a friend over a game?Wh—no????18. Would you date someone that hates gaming? So long as they didn’t try to “forbid” me from playing and so long as we had other interests to bond over, then sure. It’d be kind of a bummer though lol19. Favorite handheld console?Idk that I have one! Maybe the Switch, since that’s the most recent and popular?20. Game that you know like the back of your hand?Silent Hill 3 and DA:I21. Game that you didn’t like or understand as a kid but love now?The Civilization games22. Do you wear game related clothing/accessories?Sometimes, yeah. Nothing too embarrassing, though. 23. Were you ever an arcade game player?I actually wasn’t really :/26. Ever form any gaming rivalries?Oh yeah, with my brother. He’s 6 years older than me, which pretty much guaranteed I got my ass kicked in every game we played when I was younger27. Game that makes you rage?Bloodborne and Dark Souls!!!!!! I swear I try to go back and play them at least once a year, and I can never get past the first hour :(28. Ever play in a tournament? Not like an official one, but ones with friends, yep29. What is your gaming set up?Imma be real with you chief I don’t know nearly enough about computers to answer this question with anything other than “a computer”30. Did you ever have any bootleg games or plug-n-play games?nah 34. Do either of your parents play video games?PFFF GOD NO. Although my mom does love Animal Crossing. Not playing it, but just like it’s whole deal. 35. Ever work in a game store? Or do you have a favorite game shop?No and no, tbh36. Have you ever shed actual blood, sweat or tears over a game?I… don’t think so? Maybe I’ve cried over a game, but blood?? Put the controller down, y’all37. Have you played E.T. for the Atari 2600? Do you think that’s the worst game ever, or do you have another nomination?NO NO NO OVER THE HEDGE (2006) FOR THE PS2 IS THE SINGLE WORST GAME EVER MADE FIGHT ME ON THIS38. A game you’re ashamed to admit that you like?Oh lord… idk if anyone’s ever played any of Ambition’s dating sims (Dream Girlfriend, Dream Boyfriend, Animal Boyfriend, and Moe Can Change) but I’ve literally been playing them for about… 5-ish years now? They’re seriously the worst, I fucking love them 39. A sequel that you would die for them to make?Hmm… Maybe a new Kingdoms of Amalur game would be cool? 40. What to you think of virtual reality headsets or motion controls?I love VR but the last time I tried it at a friend’s place I fucking faceplanted after leaning on a counter I forgot was also virtual and the first thing my friend asked was whether the headset was ok, so that stung. As for motion controls, they’re fun but they can be a real pain41. A genre that you just can’t get into?Sports games 42. Maybe it wasn’t your first game, but what was the game that started you on your path to nerdiness? The path to what43. Ever play games when you really should have been concentrating on something else?Oh yeah, who hasn’t?44. Arcade machine that has consumed the most of your quarters?Idk if this counts but I am a MASTER at the claw machine and that stacker game. My closet is full of useless shit I’ve won from those things45. How are you at Mario Kart?OH SO FUCKING GOOD YOU HAVE NO IDEA46. Do you like relaxing games like Animal Crossing or Harvest Moon?yesssss I love them47. Do you like competitive games?I mean like I said, I mostly prefer single-player games, but I do enjoy the occasional co-op game48. How long does it take your to customize your player character?about an hour49. In games where you can pick your class, do you always tend to go for the same type of character?I actually don’t! If it’s a game I’m not confident I’ll be good at, I pick whichever class is recommended for beginners, and that changes from game to game. Alternatively, I just go through phases where I prefer a specific class above others 50. If you were a game designer, what masterpiece would you create?Christ I have no idea. Maybe a first-person escape game? idk51. Have you ever played a game for so long that you forgot to eat or sleep?NO?? DAMN ARE Y’ALL OK????52. A game that you begged your parents for as a kid?Literally any M game; my parents were strictly “No M games until you’re old enough!” I just got my brother to buy them most of the time though lol53. What’s your opinion on DLC these days? Most DLC is fine, it’s microtransactions in “pay-to-win” games that I fucking hate. 54. Do you give in to Steam sales?HAHAHAHAHA yeah absolutely 55. Did you ever make someone you hated in the Sims and did mean stuff to them?N-No??? 56. Did you ever play Roller Coaster Tycoon and kill off your guests?Ok yeah I did do that 57. Did you ever play a game to 100% or get all of the achievements?Ew no58. If you can only play 3 games for the rest of your life, which ones do you pick?Ooooh… ok, Oblivion, My Time in Portia, and Divinity 259. Do you play any cell phone games?I do! I play a lot of escape games, and uh… the Ambition games mentioned previously60. Do you know the Konami Code?Is that the up-up-down-down-left-right-left-right-B-A? Huh, I never knew it had a name!61. Do you trade in your games or keep them forever?I used to trade them in occasionally, but mostly I keep them 62. Ever buy a console specifically to play one game?Yeah the Switch for BotW. Not proud of it, but it was worth it63. Ever go to a gaming convention or tournament? nah64. Ever make a TV or monitor purchase based on what would be best for gaming?Yep! 65. Ever have a Game Genie, Game Shark or Action Replay? Did it ever mess up your game’s save file?OHHHH MY GOD YEAH, I’M STILL FUCKING PISSED ABOUT IT. I had GameShark for Gameboy and PS2, but that one was fine, it didn’t cause any problems. It was ACTION FUCKING REPLAY that fucked me over. I used it for KH2 and it worked the whole time until literally THE VERY LAST XEMNAS FIGHT, when my HP bar suddenly dropped to 1??? Not my HP, mind you, the HP BAR. Meaning 1 HP was the most I could have. Literally fuck action replay >:( 66. Did you ever have have an old Nokia with Snake on it?nope67. Do you have a happy gaming-related childhood memory you want to share?I do! The very first thing I ever saved up money for to buy myself was Pokemon Crystal version. Until then I’d just been borrowing (re:stealing) my brother’s, but when I was 5 and Crystal was about to come out, my parents made me a deal that if I saved up $15, they’d pay the other $15 and I could get it! It was the first time I was working towards a fun goal, so it was all pretty exciting for 5-year-old me lol. It’s dumb, I know, but it’s something I look back on fondly68. Ever save up a ton of tickets in an arcade to get something cool?Lol nah, I think the best thing I ever got with tickets was a cheap snowglobe 69. In your opinion, best game ever made? UHHHH GOD. That’s… super tough. I’m genuinely not sure I have an answer tbh. I’m really into Divinity 2 right now but best game ever made?? Idk! that’s a hard one!!!! 70. Very first game you ever beat? I won’t lie, it was Spongebob: Supersponge on GBA

82 Truths!
I was tagged by @theprintedgirl!  Thank you so much for tagging me!
Rules: Once you’ve been tagged, write a post with 82 truths about yourself and then tag 25 people
My Favourites:
Animal: Pomeranians
Colour: Lilac/millennial pink
Drink:Almost any bubble tea
Food: Macaroni and cheese
Time of year: My favorite holiday time is Christmas but my favorite season is spring!
Films: Amelie, Good Will Hunting, The Piano, probably La La Land, and loads of others!
Book: Born a Crime by Trevor Noah, The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware, The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak, Hunger by Roxane Gay, and loads of others!
Subject in school: World History
Flower: Peonies
Fruit: Mangoes
About Me:
I’m 22
I work at an institute which trains people in foreign affairs careers.
I live in Washington, DC, U..S. of A
I have a BA in International Studies (which I got in 3 years instead of 4, which ended up being a great decision)
I am originally from a rural town in Western New York (with a population of only about 1,500 people, a Native American reservation, and a sizable Amish population - YES, I AM STILL TALKING ABOUT NEW YORK AND NOT SAY, INDIANA).
I speak intermediate level Mandarin and lived in Beijing, China for a semester abroad.
I am biologically an only child but I’m very close to my step family, in which I am the middle child with both one older and one younger step-brother.
I really love stories which is why I love reading so much, in addition to being a huge cinephile.
I wanted to be a writer for my whole life until I was 16, when I realized I could put my love of studying world history and cultures toward diplomacy one day. I still really want to be a writer and write a book.
I curated a Twitter account for an American ambassador a few years ago.  It was really insightful how many revisions I had to pass by people before just a 180 character tweet could be posted, let alone a statement or interview remarks.
Most recent:
Phone call: Momma
Text: My best friend
Food: I got delivery from this burger restaurant I love.  It’s shoestring French fries covered in parmesan cheese, scallions, an over easy egg, and chipotle mayo.  I had a particularly busy day at work (this is our busiest time of the year) and thought I would treat myself.
Drink: Water
Book: The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
Purchase: The french fries I discussed in Answer #3
Song I listened to: Probably “Look What You Made Me Do” by Taylor Swift.  I’m not sure I like it but it’s catchy as hell.
Reason to be excited: I interviewed for a promotion last week and am waiting to hear back!
TV show: THE BOLD TYPE, you guys.  I love it.
Obsession: Books!
Memories:
Happiest: When I was 17 I attended a college prep program for honors students at Boston University.  I made my first lifelong friends and got to experience living outside my 1,500 person town for the first time.  It was major culture shock in the best way.
Saddest: My mom has a chronic illness and it hurts me whenever I see her in extreme pain or in the hospital again.
Strangest: Well I guess this is recent: Last night I had a dream I was watching a movie in which Matt Damon purposely got stuck in an elevator and spent the whole time trying to get out.  I woke up at 4 AM this morning because of it and it took me about an hour to get back to sleep because I wasn’t comfortable with how claustrophobic my bed felt.
Scariest: I almost drowned in a kayak when I was learning how to get out of whitewater kayak gear.
Funniest: On a July trip in California with my family, we were talking about people with eating disorders for some reason and the Google version of Alexa on my step-dad’s phone was activated somehow, but since the phone was also navigating us in the car, it couldn’t search anything.  So it just goes, “I’m sorry, I can’t help you with anorexic women.”  It’s one of those occurrences where it might of been just way funnier in the moment than describing the whole thing.
Exciting: Putting my entire life in two suitcases and moving to China.
Proudest: As I said earlier, 3 years instead of 4 for my BA, fuck yeah.
Boring: At my college, students had to take a lot of economics classes in order to major in international studies. Not titillating stuff.
Biggest Fears
Dying
Roller coasters
Failure
Kidnapping
Do scary movies count?  lol
Excited for in Life:
Travelling more abroad
Making more friends with new interests, ideas, and cultural backgrounds
Finding a lovahhh
Becoming a diplomat
Having a kid (or kids, who knows)
Eating really expensive food (I’m kind of a foodie)
Reading great books
I am always…
Checking my email
Reading
Overthinking EVERYTHING
Doing something dumb on my phone
Messaging my mom
Looking at Bookstagrams and being like “How? HOWWW?  HOW ARE THESE PICTURES ALL SO AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL AND DETAILED?”
Telling myself I won’t have something with chocolate in it...then eating something with chocolate in it.
Checking the news and weather.
Going over different paths my life could take
Messaging my friends the most random shit.
I wish I was, and I eventually will be…
A diplomat!
More organized
Confident and self-assured
Better at managing money
A speed reader
CHARMING!
...AND ALSO SUPER HILARIOUS IN AN EFFORTLESS WAY
Talented at doing anything with my hair
A published author
A self proclaimed bad-ass bitch
Favourite Things about Myself:
I am a very nice and open person, although I am a little shy at first
I am incredibly opinionated and often get a little too ranty, but a ton of people love me for it.
Cute butt.
I’m fiercely intelligent, especially when it comes to knowing random information.
I’m very good at styling/designing things. I’ve got an artistic eye.
I try to encourage people and use my sense of humor to the best of my ability in that.
My steadfast belief in universal values/what’s right.
I always want to go to new places.
I seek out knowledge wherever I go.
Finally, my blog…
It makes me so happy!  It has been a relief to come here when my days have felt monotonous.
Is both artistic and wordy; particular to some books but generic in its love of reading culture in general - it’s very me.
Needs a selfie of me with some books but I’m feeling camera shy at the moment.
This is not quite 25 so I’m sorry but...now to tag some of my favorite people I’ve either interacted with or want to interact with more on Booklr: @spiritedgalaxies @gracemccaull @-outofcontext- @blackgirlslit @the-bookler @book-loving-trash @thebookrose @readerreaderpumpkineater @tatithetinybooktuber @partiallybooks @readcreate @gingerbookblogger @fearlessly-fictional @brianamorganbooks-deactivated20 @teachingliteracy @theheartthatyoucall-home @lulalandrys @everybodywantssomecupcake @firebendingpadme @literaryqueen20 @pagesinmylife

25 star wars asks
25 star wars asks
Doing this to de-stress and do some fun fandom reflecting lol. Here we go!
1. do you find force users or non-force users more interesting?
This is tough. Overall, I find non-force users (I’m including people who were/are force sensitive in canon like Leia but can’t actually manipulate it) a lot more interesting! They tend to be more inventive and diverse in beliefs and perspectives, and their interactions with force users (and their politics) is always a cool dynamic to see!
2. which character do you want to be most like?
Oh, easy. Padme Amidala, hands down. Her passion, vision, hard work and hope make her a wonderful leader- which is something I aspire to be. Additionally, she’s flawed in the sense that she’s naive in her beliefs at times. She’s far from perfect, but Padme’s legacy (as ignored and hidden as it is in the canon after her death) is obvious in her children and the resistance she inspired. She also parallels Anakin, who in some ways embodies the things I struggle with most in myself. If anyone else came close to being someone I’d want to emulate, it would be the twins. Together they are the best of both their parents.
3. which character are you actually most like?
Yikes. Kinda covered this, but I guess… Maybe Luke? I’m not as wild as Anakin, or as passionate as Padme. I feel like Luke is a nice in-between of those two, but more mellow and simple-minded than Leia- in a good way. He’s jaded, but still maintains this sense of young, youthful naivete that Leia didn’t (despite remaining a very hopeful and strong person). He’s a soft boy, you know? I feel like Luke’s ability to come off still full of wonder, knowing how awful things can be, but still choosing to be optimistic- that’s something I can relate to.
4. what headcanon will you defend to the death?
THAT PADME WOULD’VE BEEN A FANTASTIC CHANCELLOR. Seriously, Bail Organa wouldn’t pick some basic for the job and he (at least in one of the books) was eager for her to take over that role from Palpatine. She died too young. Had so much promise. Also, her and Anakin would’ve been great parents- minus all the political drama.
5. what planet would you most like to visit?
Naboo! Yes, that’s where Padme’s from lol, but more so I just love it. It’s a beautiful planet with lots of water and agriculture. Plus, even if I do see the flaws in its’ political system, any planet that supports the education and empowerment of young women can sign me the hell up.
6. what planet would you most like to live on?
Again, Naboo! I’d love to learn in their schools and travel the natural sites, like rivers and waterfalls.
7. who do you hope you never meet?
Real talk, I hope I never meet Jaba. Snoke, Darth Vader (pre-redemption), other Sith Lords/villains, I don’t care. I mean yeah they would suck, but Jabba forces women to be his sex slaves. I’d rather die than be shoved into some golden skimpy outfit and dance for the pleasure of some slimy, horny slug alien. If I picked someone who isn’t technically evil though, I’d avoid Yoda. He’s more corrupt than he thinks and I wouldn’t want him in my head.
8. what is one thing you would change about any movie, show, book, etc?
Hm. One: Padme’s death. I still don’t think she died because of a loss of a will to live. I firmly believe her kids would’ve given her hope to move forward, even without the Republic or Anakin. At the very least, futuristic medicine would’ve kept her hanging on a LITTLE longer than that. Other than that, I’m still torn about Ben Solo in the movies. I think just because I pity Han and Leia, I wanna make him a happy kid who maybe doesn’t destroy everything his parents fought for.
9. have you ever made fanart or fanfic? do you make edits or any other fan content?
I’ve made fanart of Padme before! It’s on my art blog~ Doodled Leia a couple times too, and I have Star Wars OC’s I’m fairly attached to
10. do you think the jedi were right or wrong?
WRONG. They were corrupt, too, especially during the Clone Wars era. Allowing clones to be used as disposable war machines, only training and manipulating young kids, being overconfident, controlling/shaming members who don’t follow their ideals, their strict rules and polarizing attitude- all of it was very not okay.
11. who is the most underrated character?
Padme. They practically erased her from canon in a lot of ways so. Anakin and Obi Wan survived the prequel shame because they were pre-established in the original trilogy, but Padme? They straight up try to forget her. Even after all the great book and Clone Wars TV show development too…
12. do you care who rey’s parents are?
Sorta? I mean at this point it seems like it’s important to her development as a character, so I’d want to know for that alone. I am a little curious though. Personally, the only theory I endorse is that she’s a Kenobi. Sorry “Rey Skywalker” fans, but your theory is pretty baseless.
13. if you could resurrect one dead character, or prevent them from dying, who would it be?
Padme obviously. So she could do the great things she was capable of to their full capacity. If not her, then Qui Gon Jinn or Shmi Skywalker. Jinn would’ve saved EVERYONE a lot of trouble, and Shmi being used as a plot device for her son after all she went through kinda sucked. I would say Han but we gotta let Harrison Ford off the hook, he’s been asking for years, okay?
14. what is your favorite alien species?
The Togruta! Their design, and Ahsoka’s character, really sealed the deal for me haha.
15. who would you like to bang?
Honestly? Probably Obi Wan lol. Or Leia. Two very different types, two very different experiences. And of the new trilogy, Poe could get it any day lol.
16. which movie/episode have you watched the most?
The Force Awakens, actually! It’s the only Star Wars movie I got to see in a theater. My mom saw the first Star Wars when it came out and that’s her favorite too- I think the experience made it for both of us lol.
17. what is your favorite line?
“So this is how liberty dies… With thunderous applause.” In our current political climate, Padme says it best.
18. what is your favorite star wars book or comic?
I don’t have one! I haven’t gotten to read any. Of all the ones I’ve seen clips of though, Leia’s comic looks really great!
19. what’s your opinion on legends/expanded universe?
I love that stuff. I say expand away!
20. what do you hope will happen in future movies?
They’ll explore ideas and dynamics we haven’t before in the movies- like the Jedi’s own corruption, the gray area of the force, and more stuff relating to non-force users.
21. if you could switch any character’s gender, who would it be and why?
Nah, I don’t endorse this kind of stuff. I don’t really see gender as making anything that much more interesting beyond its’ use already in canon. Maybe if it added some LGBTQ+ representation or challenged some canon ideal?  Or if Leia was a dude just for that Jabba the Hutt scene. It sucked that she was turned into a sexual slave for the sake of plot, and if she was a man it would flip that sexism on its’ head.
22. favorite droid?
BB-8 honestly. I feel like we’d get along best is all. He’s like a cute lil’ puppy.
23. what’s your favorite star wars musical piece or theme?
Beyond the Stars from the Attack of the Clones. Really beautiful piece.
24. how do you pronounce twi’lek?
Uh, two-will-lehk?
25. which character do you have a love/hate relationship with?
The Jedi as a whole, really. The council, including Yoda, Anakin and Obi-Wan, are a big gray area for me at times lol.

Tagged by @drippity who probably knows a lot of this already but sure I’ll do it for my adoring fans
RULES: tag 10 of your followers you wanna know better.
Nicknames: Aqua, Ham (Aquaman, Aquasaur, Menty...)
Height: 5'9", I'm taller than my parents
Time right now: I started this post at 8 am but I'm sure it won't be by the end
Last thing I googled: “gw2″ because @5mogoncc is talking about it, before that a lot of WoW stuff about C'Thun and his followers so I can make some custom Hearthstone cards lore-consistent without having played WoW yet
Fave music artist: Hmm... Toby Fox, Shnabubula, Virt, Pongball, and a bunch of people inspired by Toby would all be up there
Song stuck in my head: Alphys Takes Action by Coffe K/Luke Neujahr
Last movie I watched: Arrival and The Secret Life of Pets on the same day. They were alright, neither one is my new favorite but I don’t want to spoil anything that I liked about them either. Before that, I saw Megamind on TV, and I think that actually might be.
Last TV show I watched: Star Trek Voyager, which I've been rewatching almost every night due to one of our syndication channels picking it up, though I had started doing so on Netflix anyway. I grew up with this and I still love it.
What I’m wearing right now: A Super NES shirt and khaki pants
When I created this blog: My archive says June 2014, so just 2 2/3 years ago
The kind of stuff I post about: New and cutting edge shitposting/memes, relatable moments in life and video games, game or game-inspired music, cool shit
Do I have other blogs?: Nope
Do I get asks regularly?: Nope, though I think I've only posted a prompt for one once lol
Why did I choose my URL?: It was a goofy Craig Ferguson inspired name I used sometimes in MMOs and League of Legends to come off as the "LOUD HERO IS HERE FOR GREAT JUSTICE! DID SOMEONE ORDER A LARGE HAM?" type of player (though pretending to be like that is tiring lol), and a name I was going to switch to since Aquamentus is owned by Nintendo. Now I just go by MrAquamentus because that's the name YouTube autosuggested for me when Aquamentus was taken, and I'll probably switch my URL to that one of these days. Then I'll answer this question again for that URL
Gender: a dragon-man
Hogwarts House: Probably Ravenclaw. Yep, just took a test to confirm. I definitely respect Hufflepuff but I don't think I am one
Pokemon team: Mystic has been my aesthetic since RBY, but Valor’s cool too
Fave colors: Purple, blue, red, the occasional pink
Average hours of sleep: 6-8
Lucky number: 4 or 5 or multiples thereof make my brain happy
Favourite characters: Twilight Sparkle and Spike (MLPFIM) and The Doctor (Who), on some points of their rollercoaster rides of writing quality and character development. Even if I haven't played WoW yet I feel like Anduin Wrynn is pretty great based on what I've read about him. EDIT: And Bowser how did I forget Bowser I’m sorry I have failed you my king
Dream job: I've always been drawn to making games, filling my notepads and computers with levels, enemies, concepts, formulas, etc. but not being a particularly gifted artist or coder. Some part of me has also just wanted to run an independent shop of some kind, though. Especially a buy/sell/trade card game shop with tables for people to play at that hosts tournaments and shit, that’d be fantastic. Just the idea of things like deciding on prices and coming up with special daily deals and choosing what music to play all sound like fun. I used to be interested in being a golf course designer, but that's kind of a subset of "level design for a game I enjoyed" really, just IRL with a huge budget
Number of blankets I sleep with: Like three, usually using one of them for neck support
Following: 349 lmao, doesn't feel like it. A few dozen of that is probably sims 4 cc blogs i keep impulse-following from my recommendations
Alright, I'll tag some people I know outside of Tumblr and some who've been giving me hella notes lately, idk how active or into this kind of thing some of you guys are but here we go

Dumb relationship rant, sorry this won't be regular
So the other day my almost 25 year old boyfriend was asked to leave a language class by a teacher Apparently the reason why is that the teacher asked the class to do group work on something, and he said no She told him to do it and he said no again, saying that he doesn't like teamwork She let him do it for a few minutes and then eventually told him to go home because it was disrespectful to her and the other students He started ranting to me about it and how the teacher is crazy and loves being in authority But like... I think he's being a huge fucking child. He doesn't have social anxiety or any of that, he just simply doesn't want to work with other people, even if it's filling out a worksheet. I said I was sorry that happened, and he said, "But I know you're not on my side anyway." And that really angered me. I wasn't on his side, but I didn't want to not support him when he was frustrated, and so I pushes my own thoughts aside and was supporting him and he passive aggressives me. Just last week he had an issue with the same teacher, he made a mistake when writing kanji, and she told him to write it 4 more times. Which yeah, sounds kinda bitchy of her. But then he sat there and said no. She told him to and asked him why he wouldn't and he said because it was stupid, and he won't do anything that's stupid. Additionally, just before that he was angrily told by his landlord to throw his trash away using the proper bags designated by the city, which you can buy at any convienence store in the area, and they cost like $1-4 for a big pack of them. And he told me that now because that guy was rude he will never ever buy the correct trash bags. I told him that he could start using them once he finishes his current pack, and he said no, it's stupid. I told him to be careful because there are stupid rules in Japan, and as a foreigner you can be subject to more criticism over them, and that if his landlord is a really big ass, he could potentially be evicted if he doesn't use the correct bags. Boyfriend said "I don't care, it's stupid." "But being evicted over that would suck, and I know it's stupid, but wouldn't that be even more stupid? You'd have to move back to the guesthouse and you hated it there because of the stupid people." "I don't care." And I know they're small things. I know I create issues in the relationship with my poor communication, and I fully take responsibility for that and have been doing a good job in recent weeks changing that, even he's commenting on how I'm doing better. But I just absolutely have not been in love with him at all for the last like 1+ year of our relationship, and I keep trying to push aside things that bother me. Things like all the passive aggressiveness towards me if I let go of his hand for a while while walking, absolutely no sexual attraction or satisfaction in the relationship due to him basically wanting me to be a dominatrix when I am absolutely not lmao and he goes I'm absolutely into being submissive but he said I don't know what I want, (lol aight) and the bizarre demand that later when I'm working I need to take two weeks off and go meet his family and travel with him. When I told him that I can't just take 2 weeks off for fub, especially considering it'll be a new job, he basically demanded that before my free flight benefits end in April I have to fly to meet his family with him before then. Like I am just REALLY not happy being with him, and future stuff doesn't look good either. He's studying Japanese for fluency, but even after almost one year of intensive study he can hardly say an extremely basic sentence. He's now saying he wants to go to university in Japan and signed up for an exam at one of Japan's top most difficult universities next year, even though his Japanese is extremely basic now, and his academic background and transcript is very poor. He skipped almost an entire year of school because he didn't feel like going, and got a lot of bad grades in what I think was French remedial or alternative school. When I say that he'll need to study for the actual tested content on the university exam, which are famously difficult, extremely intelligent Japanese people study incredibly intensely for months or years before taking it, especially considering its one of the most difficult schools in Japan, (and it's a private school and he has extremely little money, I don't know how he expects to pay???) And he says he doesn't need to study for it. He says all he needs to study is just Japanese himself. (Which will require a metric fuck ton of studying considering he struggles to even order at a restaurant or at Starbucks and can't understand convienence store questions like would you like another bag, would you like this heated, do you have a point card...) And I try to help him with the university stuff, because I did graduate from a top Japanese university and kind of know a bit of the ropes, but nope, he says all he needs is one more year of study. It's additionally frustrating because his English is poor too. As someone living in another country speaking another language, I complete understand and sympathize with the struggle because I experience it in Japanese. It didn't bother me at all for one year, and then more recently it's starting to frustrate me, because we just can't properly communicate anything. And I'm sure it frustrates him as well, because I absolutely know the feeling of frustration of not being able to say something in another language even though IT SHOULD BE THERE IN YOUR HEAD. But he always says "Ahhh I can communicate so much more and be so much funnier and cooler in French" Which I did believe and sympathize with. But I really am realizing that other French people don't really like him. He'll consistently make a new French friend for a week or a month or so, and then will tell me that the person is a jerk and went to a party or something without asking him. When I suggest that maybe he should try asking the other person to hang out, he says he doesn't need a friend like that, and then (super cliche-ly) "I don't need friends." I do understand the struggle of making friends with other people because that was basically my entire high school life and dealing with bullshit people. But I still had just a few close friends in high school, and internet friends. Once leaving high school i have a ton of friends, I'm not super crazy close with every friend because I do often have antisocial tendencies, but I'm on good terms with all of them and don't have trouble making plans with them. But what worries me about him with friends is the inability to keep friends. Because he makes new French friends often. But literally every single one after a time reportedly don't want to hang out or be friends with him anymore. He has one friend who he is still friendly with in France, but my boyfriend said they aren't really close at all. My boyfriend has said, ever since the relationship started "oh once you start to know me better you won't want to be with me anymore, because everybody does that" I always ignored it because it sounded so cliche and edgy that it was difficult to take seriously, but he seems to almost take pleasure in stuff like that. He used to often say 'oh one day I'll tell a joke but you will think I'm serious and will be mad at me' and I'm like, no shit that happens with literally everyone person at some point. Well, eventually I happened. Except he wasnt telling a joke, he said something pretty rude or inflammatory to me in order to start a fight. I immediately warned him not to start with me, which followed with 'lol, I was just joking!' which we all know is what people usually say to cover their own asses and make the offended party look bad. Then he immediately goes on with "SEE???? I told you that one day I would tell a joke and you wouldn't know it was a joke!!! I knew it would happen! See I know these things!" And going on like that for five minutes, which was pissing me off more because he was gloating about it and was clearly not joking. So this is all obviously a big ass rant. I know I cause a lot of big ass problems in the relationship, mainly me not always messaging him enough and not hanging out with him enough, which then makes him jealous, so he'll accuse me of cheating, which I absolutely have not done and never would, and then he's told me he's sent me pictures of himself with other girls in an effort to make me jealous, and then was angry when I wasn't jealous. But.. the reason why I didn't always message him every single day (fixed now) and don't hang out with him as much as I should (partially financial, he lives about $60 round trip away) is because I just genuinely don't enjoy being with him. A couple of months ago I wanted to break up for many of those reasons, but didn't because I didn't want to let some dumb short term feelings of negativity in the relationship end things. But nothing has changed since then, and I think I'm even less happy now, despite fixing a few of my own personal issues and issues in the relationship... Just Lord What do
