to me this is one of the most important passages of the revenge of the sith novelization, as it contains a fundamental thesis of the prequels. the clone wars were designed to kill jedi. sidious put the order in checkmate before they'd even begun fighting. he used their compassion and trust against them by leveraging their sense of duty to push them into fighting a morally dubious war to protect innocent lives, tarnishing their galactic reputation. he gave them friends in the clones that were crafted to become their assassins. he spread the jedi out, thinned their numbers in years of brutal combat, and then when they were sufficiently weak, wiped them out.

the revenge of the sith required so much planning and moving from the shadows over decades to arrange the galaxy into a trap. the prequel jedi did not have the knowledge that we the audience have, they were operating out of a place of partial understanding and with the best of intentions. to hold them to a standard of omniscience and omnipotence instead of appreciating the genius and patience of the sith is unfair and missing the point. they're not perfect, but they are good. it is tragic that being good is not always enough, it is tragic to know that our best of intentions can come up short. it is tragic that evil can gain power and harm the innocent without repercussions.

this book is heartbreaking on a personal level, but also on a political and ideological one. it reflects the very real world when greed and fear hold sway over a population, where exploitation and oppression win. the jedi are slain and it is brutal to read, and a generation afterward struggling in the dark without them. however, star wars ultimately carries a message of hope: you can kill jedi, but you cannot kill compassion and community. wherever people love each other, there is light. the empire fell and the jedi returned because you cannot kill their ideas. so there is hope, but that doesn't change that it is an egregious crime in the prequels that they were slaughtered.

SAMMY THANK YOU SO SO MUCH FOR PUTTING IT ON MY DASH!!!!! THAT WAS HOW I HEARD ABOUT IT!!!!! Also thank you for asking because I've been writing this mini essay in my head in the shower. <3 I was like, shrugs, I like time travel and I like indie games, and wow it is very positively rated I suppose I must give it a try, and then proceeded to procrastinate on that for a few weeks ;; teehee! But yeah, it became like one of my top three games ever in the first half hour.. Things like "storytelling through gameplay," and "ENJOYABLE & interesting turn-based combat," and "characters that feel so Human and Real in addition to being deeply relatable," really gets me on board! And also, now that I've finished, I can say the story goes really hard too. I actually didn't realize the cast was LGBTQ+ before I started playing, so that was a fantastic surprise. And the setting is expertly designed with this in mind! This game is angled to talk about the queer experience while being dynamically interwoven with the themes and setting - and It was a great experience for me to see, in particular, aro and/or ace characters portrayed excellently - both thematically and realistically!!! I'm very impressed with how they show and they tell the characters' relationship with their own sense of self, and their sense of other's people's experiences. .. That's the best way I can explain it without giving specific examples!~ Anyway I have been chipping away at it for the past week in my spare time and stayed up to 3am last night, emotionally compromised, to finish it.

How fantastic! The payoffs, the story beats, the character's growth! It's everything I could have wanted. Absolutely worth anyone's time.

I played on the Nintendo Switch (regular), and while there was minor lag at some points, it didn't negatively effect my experience much at all. I have now purchased it on steam, and I'm going to try for 100% achievements (there is no achievement system on switch)! I found that i missed quite a few things in my blind playthrough, so I hope to catch everything in this upcoming one! to conclude, have some siffrin doodles I did today <3

Timeloop/Reincarnation AU where Vash reverses the time every time he fails to save Wolfwood, despite having the guilt of knowing Wolfwood will have to go through everything again had Vash chosen to loop the timeline again...

Shouldn't he let him finally get his peace? Isn't it cruel to make him suffer yet again through this horrid nightmare?

(Have you ever imagined if his "I can see it in his eyes" or "all I see is a man forcing himself to play the devil while his heart cries out" is because Vash knows he's actually not like that? That the man he knows has been kind, kind to him. But will also fear what will happen to him if he pushes his belief upon Wolfwood... Would he rather see the Wolfwood he'd known from his past? Or would he let him kill; a cold murderer, befitting of his title as 'The Punisher' in favour of his survival? But could you still call him the same Wolfwood he's known from before? Should he even try to reverse the time again? Hadn't he suffered enough?)

Reincarnation AU trimax VW but focusing on reincarnated! Wolfwood instead, chasing after Vash at every cycle of his life so he can protect, and ultimately, save him from his misery.

(He fails, quite a lot of times. But Vash doesn't need to know how many times.)

Everything was all white. And before he knew it, it was dark. Wolfwood wakes up again in a different place than he used to live in. But more than that, a different body (It was confusing at first, but he's quick to connect the dots when he finds a familiar face he could not mistake for others, now in a wanted poster, spanning across the walls of the buildings: "Vash The Stampede" it says. Wolfwood remembers: it was the man who greets him every time he enters the shop; him donning an apron as he serves other customers and he in his working outfit, back from a job he can remember no longer...)

Star-crossed Lovers where Wolfwood eventually realised he only dies because he tries tp save Vash. He could've lived a long, normal life, even stop his loop! But he didn't. Wolfwood who'd rather live short lives and die countless times just to save him... and the closest he's been with him relationship-wise is where his death is mourned the most...

(whether he thinks it's shit or not, Wolfwood still doesn't know. But had he known it'd be the last time he sees him, he'd have at least pulled him into a kiss. Say sweetheart, how about a thank you kiss?)

Reincarnation AU (trimax->tristamp) but this time both of them have bits of recollections of the past they never told each other they know.

Vash being more deadset on stopping Nai and now EOM as his main objectives, passively avoiding visiting orphanages at all costs in his travels,

Wolfwood as a kid who knew what will become of him when he's selected by the EOM but still joins and persists through his experiments with the thought "This could help the spikey his memories seem so keen on remembering" or an "I could only meet him this way, protect him this way"

Imagine the panic that settles when the timeline doesn't line up with their previous life, "what do you mean I met the gang before the July incident, and who is this old man??" Wolfwood

Eriks going missing for 2 years as written, thinking he should really, really avoid Wolfwood for good before he gets dragged any deeper, maybe he should run away from everything this time?

And Wolfwood desperately searching for him for the whole 2 years, even though he knows he'll find him again, fearing how he gets closer to the time because "what if something is different this time and I can't meet him?" or "What if I'm not supposed to be by his side this time?"

The last one is the one I talked on prev post! Reincarnation AU (trimax->tristamp) but it's only Wolfwood who remembers, and it's mostly a "trying to move on but failing miserably because you can never say no to your (reincarnated) partner"

Wolfwood reminiscing how similar yet so different this life is... thinks how "the ticket to the future is blank, and it led me back to you"

By the time Bilbo Baggins had reached his front door, still marked with the rune Gandalf had banged into it such a long time before, word had already spread over hill and down towards the river.

Not only had he returned to the Shire, but he'd brought someone back with him.

Honestly, Hazel thought as she carefully wrapped a generous parcel of scones and added them to her basket, you'd think he'd brought back a very small dragon, or some kind of goblin, the way people carried on!

A small sachet of tea, some meat pies, a wedge of cheese, a loaf of bread, some clotted cream and a bit of jam for the scones, some generous slices of honey cake... Hazel paused and eyed the basket, it hardly seemed enough for a hobbit that had been away from home for such a long time.

Adding some eggs, cold chicken, a pat of butter, and a jar of her mother's pickles, Hazel lifted the basket and started out towards the Baggins' burrow.

"Don't forget this!" He father called after her, handing her a bottle of cider, "And be careful, who knows what sort of folk has followed Bilbo back from his... adventure." Like any good Hobbit, her father said the word like it had personally offended him (Hazel thought an adventure sounded fascinating, but then, she'd always taken after the Took side of the family!)

Gathering up her things, Hazel started up the hill once again, the late afternoon sun sinking towards the horizon and painting the Shire in gold and warm, burnt orange. Even laden with the heavy basket there was a skip in her step, an excitement to see her cousin, and hear all about his travels.

"Hello! Welcome home!" She called as she made her way to the gate, smiling over to her cousin and his guest, who had his back to her, "I've come with a few little things to tide you over for the evening-- oh--" Hazel reached for the gate, and realized her hands were too full, "Would you mind? I'm a little short of hands!"

The Chansey greeted Choro. Glad the pokemon remembers her from the call awhile back. "Hi, Choro. How have you been?" The pokemon's description of Chansey was accurate. Chansey put a hand to her cheek in thought at the question. "Hmm. The biggest idiot is our stray Thundercat, Zeraora. Sarah fed him a tuna sandwich after tending a wound, and he's stuck around ever since." Zeraora: "She likes to tease me." Chansey waved her hand to her trainer, Sarah who's sitting at the kitchen table. Sarah accidently grabbed a box of pokechow instead of cereal and was pouring it into a bowl and adding milk to it. "..." yeah, she's not going to comment on it, "This is Sarah. I guess you can call her my trainer, I do battle for her sometimes. I am her (self-appointed) service and caregiver pokemon. She's missing a leg and covered in burn scars. I take care of her and I also act as her assistant pokemon. She's a freelance pokemon medic. Our relationship is good. She learned to rely on me and that makes me happy." Sarah: ¬_¬ "Chansey is bossy, but she makes sure everyone helps with their share of chores. Chansey helps a lot with the cleaning and likes cooking with me in the kitchen." she looks down at the pokechow in her bowl, "This is too dry. Remind me to buy a fresher box." Chansey again ignoring the pokechow eating of her human, goes on to introduce everyone else. "The ivysaur next to her is Bubbles. He's cool. As Sarah's first pokemon, he's little older and wiser knowing Sarah the longest and teamwork. We are good friend." Bubbles: "Nice to meet you, Bud." Chansey continued, "Then we have little Machop. He's tiny for his size, timid, Sarah rescued him as a hatchling from a bad trainer. Machop is still too scared to fight after what he's been through. He became Sarah's service pokemon and helps carry things. He's more of the team's little sibling." Machop: "..." He just wants to eat his breakfast. Feeling the introductions are getting to long, she sped things up for the others. "This is Absol. Another stray that Sarah adopted after treating an injury. He's a bit vain when it comes to is fur now that he knows what shampoo does. Likes baths and brushing." Absol: "HEY! Why do they get a big introduction and I get THAT? Also.. I like baths with shampoo. It makes my fur soft and FLUFFY." Chansey ¬_¬ "He's very vain, gruff, a messy eater, wears more food than he eats, afraid of spicy tacos." Absol: "You put a tomoto berry in my taco! It was too spicy! I got-" Chansey interrupts before he could finish that statement, "He is basically a pet dog. They are outside right now, but the other members of our team is an Alpha sized Charizard Sarah calls Chari. His wise, cool, dependable, and our neighbor when we moved in above the ranger station of the pokemon Sanctuary we now call home. Charizard always seems to know what to do in a situation, but rarely talks." Chansey respects Charizard. "We also have a cloyster now for some reason. He just showed up, dumped here by some pokemon breeders, and Sarah took him in as part of her team." Sarah: "Choro, is your name? Nice to meet you. Chansey's already introduced the team, so I don't need too. Feel free to join us for breakfast. Fresh coffee is in the pot, there is more Moomoo milk in the fridge, pancakes on the counter, cereal and pokechow on the table. Help yourself."

As a non American can you explain why are there 3 concerts in Ohio? Is it a really big and populated state? Or else Louis could've done 1 bigger venue.

Sorry. I had to scream a little in the car because listen 😂😂😂 when the dates were announced I wanted a single show in Ohio. We get passed over all. The. Time. So often. So I first saw cuyahoga hills and was like…. Why there??? Nothing is there??? 😂 but OHIO! And then I saw Cincinnati and I was like… Cincinnati too???? Okay! Hitting the northeast corner and southwest corner of the state! Cool! And then Columbus too??? Like I legit texted @londonfoginacup asking like HOW MUCH DOES LOUIS LOVE US THAT HE IS GIVING US THREE OHIO SHOWS? Like we have to go to all three to show him Ohio loves him and this wasn’t a mistake right??? 😂

Which we obviously did. But we were just as surprised as you, I PROMISE YOU.

That said, there’s a lot of reasons why he could have chosen three shows here.

One: Ohio has three major metropolitan areas in the one state, which is pretty rare outside the super large and populous states. He’s hitting the three major markets and since he seems to be trying to hit even the smaller areas that don’t get much attention with this tour, it makes sense for that alone really.

Two: Location. Ohio is a state in an area of the country called the Midwest, but we are located in a pretty central area. This could explain it as well, because he’s not going to Kentucky (the state south of us) and I don’t think he’s going to Pittsburgh? (The closest large city east of us, he played there last year on Valentine’s Day hehe) which means they’ll be looking for shows to attend closeby, and Ohio can offer that. So while he’s also hitting Indianapolis (closest large city west of us) and already hit Detroit (another large city in the state north of us), he’s also not playing West Virginia (another state that borders us) and… yeah. Lots of people in that space who will be needing a place closeby to see him.

Which brings us to three: Population. We aren’t the MOST populous state or anything, there’s a reason people get us confused with Iowa and Idaho lol but, that said, we are the tenth (or seventh??) most populous according to the google search I just did lol different sites disagree, but when you consider there are fifty states, that’s still a good showing lol considering we have so many other populous areas surrounding us that the concerts would also draw from, that could have also been a contributing factor.

And lastly four: SCENERY. Listen. Ohio gets shit on a lot for being a “boring” state or a “flyover” state (aka no one comes here as a destination) and it pisses me off lol every single person I’ve ever brought to Ohio has been surprised when they got here because there was so much more here than they thought and parts of the state are GORGEOUS. I mean did you see the flyover view that John Delf did on Instagram of the cuyahoga falls venue??? That’s actually in a national park and it is just stunning there with gorgeous hiking and waterfalls and shit in the near vicinity. It’s amazing. And the venue he played tonight in Cincinnati was literally right on the Ohio river that creates the southern border for our state, and it had a view of one of my favorite bridges I’ve ever seen! PLUS!!! Tonight there was a full moon, and it was right above the bridge and Louis got to look at us AND THE BRIDGE AND MOON THE ENTIRE TIME. How gorgeous is that??? Like look at this shitty photo I took. Incredibly beautiful.

That’s from the railing that was only a short distance behind me and the sound guys for the concert so. Not shabby, right?? Now the venue in Columbus is right downtown in what we call the arena district because the arena where our hockey team plays is right across the street and the baseball stadium is next door and the new soccer stadium is in the area now too, so it’s got loads of venues and restaurants and shit right there and Kemba is one of the best indoor/outdoor venues in town now. I’ve seen several shows there over the years, and it’s great every time. It’s got good sound, a good setup, and the staff is always fantastic so while it’s maybe not the coolest venue, I do love when artists I enjoy come there. Not sure of the appeal on Louis’ end, but ¯\__(ツ)__/¯

So, taking all of these points into consideration, it does make a bit more sense… but three does still seem like he just felt like being overindulgent to us and show us extra love 😂😂 as emmu said, I guess Louis loves us best hahaha

We are just kidding, please don’t send me hate lol

I honestly also do not know why he chose to do this for us, but it makes travel plans a lot easier for us and I’m really fucjing thankful haha I’ve mostly been worried we wouldn’t be able to fill the venues sufficiently but so far so good so here’s hoping Columbus shows up too haha Heaven only knows parking and driving in Columbus is a fuck ton easier than doing so in Cincinnati 😂

Under the cut bc I got wordy and rambly as per usual lol.

ARE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE?

Kind of? In that I more or less named myself after Izzy from our flag lol. Not that I'm going to tell everyone I meet that, but it is a big part of why I stuck with it after trying it out (that, and I've always wanted a name that had the letter zed in it, silly as that may seem.)

One of my middle names (that I had been using as a first name for a few years) is after my grandfather and aunt who also have that name as their middle name.

My deadname was after an actress famous in the 90s (tho tbh my mum apparently didn't choose it for that, she chose it bc she didn't find out my gender until I was Out and then was like 'aw fuck I don't have a name for this situation' and went with the first one she saw in a book of names a nurse gave her. It was only after that she remembered the actress when I was like. 4. that she changed and started telling ppl it was after that instead.)

And technically Holden is after the book character, but mum never actually read that book (and after I described it to her, said she has no interest in doing so lmao), she just liked how the name sounded and that was the one solitary name she for sure had on hand when I was born apparently. Could have saved us all time had she just used that one for me anyway!

2. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED?

Couple of nights ago. I'm doing better abt missing my cat Nisha, but my phone will toss up compilations of pics of her to mark the year/month/etc and sometimes those still get me. It popped up just before I went to bed that night and I was already so tired that I just. broke down. Bc I know she's v loved and looked after w/my mum, but I do miss her goofy lil self a lot. She was my first cat that was given to me and meant to be mine alone, and there's something abt that first pet bond I guess.

3. DO YOU HAVE KIDS?

Nope, and it's not a likely thing for me. I've said before that that happening would be in a very specific situation, wherein I'm with someone who wants to dedicate the rest of our lives to raising a child, or god forbid more than one, tho I think I'd max out at two if I managed one at all tbh (and that's not even getting into the very complex for me thing of would I want to actually be pregnant ever (probably not, absolutely terrified of dying in childbirth and don't see myself getting over that easily), we have the funds to make that happen (and give the kid a good life, not just a decent one or 'could have been worse' like my own), and we feel stable mentally, emotionally, and physically (as much as one can outside of Life Happening of course) bc having a kid means putting allll of that first for them, ahead of yourself. Or at least I think it should mean that lol.

But that situation is incredibly unlikely considering my bigger goal in life is to wind up being a third for multiple couples while also fucking any of my friends who are down for it in a big poly ENM sort of thing for lack of better/more detailed definition (I know it sounds unrealistic and maybe it is to a degree, almost definitely is lol.)

I can admit I just. don't want to uproot the life I've been trying so hard to build for myself in so many ways, to have kids. I'll happily help babysit the kids of any friends tho and be the fun uncle that buys them junk food and lets them stay up late to watch movies. I think that's about the level of parenting of any kind that I can handle for now (also tbh I burned out on parenting bc my family admits they parentified the fuck outta me with my three younger cousins. It by far could have been worse, but I spent my teens spending most of my days after school helping look after them from the newborn years and on. Unless my above uber specific scenario happens, then I've probably had my fill of parenting for my lifetime.)

4. WHAT SPORTS DO YOU PLAY/HAVE YOU PLAYED?

I played volleyball for a few years in elementary school, and we were made to participate in a multi-school track and field thing for most of middle school every year, but I was never amazing at them. Housemate and I have figured out I likely have undiagnosed asthma tho (turns out running or going out in too cold or hot weather shouldn't instantly make you gasp, struggle to breathe, and make you taste iron in your mouth, who the fuck knew? Not me, genuinely) so I think that might have a lot to do with it.

I do! Probably too much and not always in the best situations, but I've been working for years to hone when and where it should be used so I think/hope I'm a lot better with it than I was when I was younger. Tho even then, I did get adults who found it funny when I was sarcastic bc of how adult I seemed to a lot of them (their words, not mine lmao.)

6. WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU NOTICE ABOUT PEOPLE?

I genuinely don't know. Usually I'm too busy running my script for meeting new ppl in my head and trying to maintain Common and Expected Etiquette to really notice much right away. I have found that after a bit of time/after the initial meeting has passed, I tend to notice colours ppl wear more often than others if I see them often enough, or hair colour. But I don't know if it counts towards this question at that point lol.

7. WHAT'S YOUR EYE COLOUR?

Kinda blueish grey? Some ppl say it's too grey to be blue, others that it's too blue to be grey. I had a lady at the ND DOT freak out abt not being sure if I should have blue or grey on my ID a few years back, and she finally just told me to put blue so 'she could stop feeling so confused.' Was a weird day and the first time I realised apparently they really do have a blend of both colours, enough for it to be upsetting lmao.

8. SCARY MOVIES OR HAPPY ENDINGS?

I can't choose between the two; I like both! I also like mixing them together when I write (a scary story with a happy ending, an ending that seems happy but is actually terrifying, so on and so forth.)

9. ANY TALENTS?

Writing? Maybe, I always list it bc it's something I know how to do and to (usually) do decently well. I can sort of draw? But not well enough that I think 'talented' would be accurate to describe how I draw lol. I'm not sure of anything else off the top of my head tbh.

10. WHERE WERE YOU BORN?

In California, USA! We were there bc dad was in basic training for the Marines and then just got stuck at Camp Pendleton for years lmao (or that's how he always talks abt it anyway lmao.) Only was actually there until either: a. I was 3 months old, b. I was 6 months old or c. I was actually basically still a fresh newborn. Depends on whether you're talking to my dad, mum, or grandparents as to which answer you get, and at this point I'm genuinely uncertain as to exactly when mum left and took me to North Dakota but 6 months seems the most potentially accurate lmaooo.

11. WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES?

Writing, drawing, reading (not enough but I'm trying to remedy that), napping, watching movies/fave shows, and giffing.

12. DO YOU HAVE ANY PETS?

Kind of? My cat Nisha had to stay in North Dakota after I moved, so my mum and her bf are looking after her now (and got her a little sister, a kitten who is getting so big already!, named Bella.) I help Housemate look after aer two cats as well, and I'd like to think the boys consider me like their fun uncle lol (aka I bend over backwards for them and let them steal my spot on the couch all the time, and will break out the treats if needed to corral them now and then. In my defense: they are the cutest lil baby boy cats and they deserve the world, even when they're being little gremlins lmao.)

13. HOW TALL ARE YOU?

Approximately somewhere between 5'3 and 5'4ish? I can't recall the last time I was actually measured, and most of the ppl I've been around were somewhere between those heights and I'm usually either slightly shorter or slightly taller than some of them, so??? I put 5'3 on my ID tho lol

14. FAVOURITE SUBJECT IN SCHOOL?

English bc it was easy and I liked almost everything we did in that class. All my general and more specific history courses were a close second, and my foreign language classes a close third.

15. DREAM JOB?

Ideally, I'd love to not have to work. But who wouldn't, so that said, probably something in a library or museum. I'd love to be a library page again, or help work the front desk/docent duties of a museum. Working at someplace like Mystic Seaport would be amazing too; I'd be happy to learn how to help repair/repaint ships that come in or just help do tours or look after artifacts and stuff (tbh they could hire me just to type up any random data entry work they need done for any/all depts and I'd say yes to the job offer lol.) Unfortunately there's fairly significant roadblocks to me achieving any of these jobs rn, but I like to keep them in mind, just in case.

Also, if I can have one dream job that would be even more unlikely and is slightly TMI probably but: paid third for a rich couple. I show up, look nice, [redacted], make sure they're both good for the night, then go back home to Housemate (if it wouldn't be a night they'd want me to stay over, which I wouldn't be against but also. That would require some overtime pay lol.) The chances of this one are...so unlikely it's stupid funny, but a man's allowed to have dreams right lmao?

ok how the heck do you draw that middle ish tone tan skin. because i can draw very pale and very dark skin but ive recently been struggling trying to render one of my ocs skin but then i see your post with wind lu and i reluctantly color pick and copy exactly what you did (reluctantly because i don't like color picking and copying other ppls works) and it looks so good and now my oc is fully rendered?? please teach me your secrets on how you found the skin tone😭 like whats your process because i color picked it and was like "ooo this looks too yellow" but then i added the blush and shadows and then it was perfect? idk im bad at color theory but if you could just imbue a beginner artist with a bit of knowledge 🙏

Alright! So, I’m going to try to explain this the best I can while not going TOO deep into color theory.

For starters, there is NO shame in color picking- It’s a great way to learn colors that go together! Start using it as a tool for learning! Watch where those colors fall in relation to each other on the color wheel! You may start to notice something you hadn’t before!

I may be a professional- but I am not an expert.

As for how I pick my colors, I try to keep in mind what I want the undertones to be.

You’ll notice almost all my colors here fall in a similar area. As the color gets darker I also add more saturation and and move a little farther into a “red” tone even if my base is pretty orange and it evens out the contrast, that’s color theory- more so. All your colors are affected by what surrounds them!

These are analogous colors- they are all next to each other. My base being more orange and the shading being more red- it makes the orange over all look less yellow and more red.

This is how I color skin most of the time. when it comes to finding the BASE color I kinda just wing it and see what I think works- that just comes with practice and observation.

Back to that color picking, take inspiration from artists you like- make some color palettes based off pictures you think look nice, then try to use those color by finding them on the wheel instead of picking directly from your pallet.

okay so 4.2 and the main plot of that and how it affected neuvi both during and after. read at your own peril, it will contain spoilers.

first off, neuvillette feels nothing short of pure guilt for being the mastermind behind uncovering the truth. he heavily assumed that furina was being the way she was because she forgot how to drop the mask, not that she cannot drop the mask, as for the last five hundred years, that is how he knew and viewed her - a being of pure flamboyancy and somewhat immature to the truth that fontaine is destined to flood, and she will be alone in the end - but he still tried to trust her.

so watching the trial, watching furina crumble and crack and just break in front of her, neuvillette's guilt began to rise, but he must keep a stoic face in the courtroom, and that is killing him. in the pursuit and name of the truth, neuvillette had shattered everything that furina built in focalors' request, and broke the trust he and furina had built for so long.

he doesn't even have time to comprehend it, because the next thing he knows, the oratrice holds more secrets, and neuvillette is facing a truth he never expected or, in hindsight, really wanted - meeting focalors to witness the execution. he didn't wish to meet focalors because the moment he did, he knew it meant disaster, because that meant this was the final act of her charade - a charade he was quite definitely the leading male in.

neuvillette wanted so many answers because he was playing a role he never knew he was playing until its last moments, and this is his biggest regret. he should of spent time with focalors as a person, not interrogate her in a way, but he already ruined furina, he knew focalors was fully aware what he did and expected malice from her. yet, all he got was her serenity and gratitude. this is the double edged blade of the truth. she was glad he played his part, but neuvillette isn't happy he did it. he knew he had to when focalors said it was the intended ending, but it never meant he had to like it.

so her giving up her divinity and life, so he can become the fully fledged dragon sovereign he has waited over one thousand years to be, it isn't pleasant, it will not be pleasant for a while. yet, it's a necessary move for the future. he too, like focalors but on a much grander scale, despises the heavenly principles, for many reasons, and will use that power returned to him by her to finish what she likely wanted to start. the tears he sheds, knowing that furina will stay when focalors is gone, are for focalors' self-execution and the damage he has done to furina. his self-imposed guilt is the gavel that declares fontaine innocent of egeria's sin. he will carry that guilt instead now, for damaging furina and being the execution's witness.

when everything settled down, fontaine rebuilding itself, he does actually keep the room furina used in the palais mermonia the same shape she used to. she doesn't stay there anymore, and for her mental wellbeing, that is necessary and valid to him. yet... it is a habit he cannot break. despite everything, neuvillette will always see furina and focalors as a platonic soulmate, the yang to his yin, and he has ruined a half-millennia friendship in the name of the final act of the masquerade. it will take time for him to accept this is a necessary thing, but he knows he cannot face furina for a while, not unless he absolutely must for a bit. he will leave the fate of their friendship in her hands, and respect her choice.
