I've decided to just start watching through a bunch of corny horror franchises. First was all of the Candyman series, now Children of the Corn, then next I'm thinking From Dusk Til Dawn.

bayley x fem!reader going to a fall carnival together?
Fall carnival || Bayley x Reader
Summary: You take Bayley to the fall carnival in your home town.
Tumblr media
The crisp autumn air nipped at your cheeks as you and Bayley strolled hand in hand through the fall carnival in your hometown. It was a nostalgic trip down memory lane, and you couldn't help but smile as you took in the sights, sounds, and smells of the place where so many of your fondest childhood memories were made.
Pumpkins and hay bales adorned every corner, giving the carnival a rustic, seasonal charm. The tantalizing scent of cotton candy, caramel apples, and funnel cakes wafted through the air, making your mouth water. Children laughed and shrieked with delight as they rode the Ferris wheel, the merry-go-round, and various other colorful attractions.
You and Bayley were bundled up in thick jackets, scarves, and gloves, bracing yourselves against the chill. Despite the cold, you felt warm and content, knowing that you were sharing this special place with the person you loved.
As you walked through the carnival, you nestled your head on Bayley's shoulder, enjoying the warmth of her presence. The sounds of live music filled the air as a local band played lively tunes on a stage nearby. You turned your gaze toward Bayley, her blue eyes sparkling with excitement and her cheeks flushed from the cold.
"This place means so much to me," you began, your voice soft and nostalgic. "I used to come here every year with my family when I was a kid. It's where I first rode a roller coaster and won my first stuffed animal at one of those ring-toss games."
Bayley listened attentively, her arm wrapping around your shoulders as you walked. "Tell me more," she urged.
You smiled, memories flooding back. "I remember the pumpkin patch over there. My parents used to take me to pick out the biggest pumpkin I could find, and then we'd carve it together."
Bayley's lips curled into a grin. "Did you make the spookiest pumpkin?"
You chuckled. "I tried to, but I think it always ended up looking more silly than spooky."
She laughed along with you. "That's what makes it special, though."
As you continued your walk, you pointed out various attractions and shared anecdotes of your childhood adventures at the carnival. Bayley listened with rapt attention, her affection for you growing with each story you told.
Eventually, you found yourselves in front of the Ferris wheel, its brightly colored lights illuminating the night sky. You turned to Bayley, your heart full of gratitude for this wonderful day.
"Thank you for coming with me today," you said, your eyes locked onto hers. "It means a lot to share this place and these memories with you."
Bayley leaned down and pressed a sweet kiss to your lips. "I wouldn't want to be anywhere else," she whispered against your mouth.
With your fingers interlocked and your hearts connected, you both stepped onto the Ferris wheel, ready to create new memories together amidst the nostalgic backdrop of the fall carnival. It was a day you would cherish, one where the love between you and Bayley grew stronger, and the bonds of your shared experiences became even more meaningful.

Halloween Headcanons (Dad Van)
Tumblr media
Words: 600
I know it’s nowhere near Halloween but I have loads of seasonal Dad Van headcanons I need to post… 🎃
Dad Van Masterlist Main Masterlist
Tumblr media
🎃 You've always loved Halloween, and things haven't changed as you've grown up, even now you're married with your own family.
🎃 Van, on the other hand, thinks it's a daft tradition. "What? You're actually expecting me to dress up in a costume? Never in a million years!"
🎃 Cue your daughter Grace making puppy dog eyes at him and pouting. "Daddy, you're no fun at all. All my friends' daddies are dressing up! We have to take photos for school and there's a competition!"
🎃 Van's ears prick up at the mention of competition. "Well we can't have someone else winning now, can we?"
🎃 Within minutes Grace has her face-paints out and you're stifling a laugh at Van's horrified reaction which he's trying his hardest to hide. "Go easy on me eh, Gracie!"
🎃 "I think I'm going to make you a vampire daddy! I think you'd look good as a vampire!"
🎃 No surprise Van does look rather good as a vampire... (maybe he can keep the fake fangs on for later)
🎃 You dress up as Dracula's bride and you keep having to swat Van away when he's pretending to bite your neck because it's so ticklish.
🎃 For saying Van was grumpy about Halloween he acts like a big kid for the rest of the day.
🎃 Larry comes round for pumpkin carving but you have to confiscate the carving tools as him and Van are sniggering like naughty school-kids, carving inappropriate etchings on to the pumpkins.
🎃 You're not sure who's more excited about trick or treating - Van or Grace.
🎃 He properly gets into character and you have to tell him to calm it down in case he frightens the little ones.
🎃 Van wants to carry on even when Grace is getting tired, then he complains of a belly ache as he's eaten too many trick or treat sweeties.
🎃 Grace ends up falling asleep in Van's arms on the way home but wakes up just as you're both putting her into bed.
🎃 "Daddy I'm too scared to go to sleep because of all the monsters!"
🎃 Van gives her a big hug. "Monsters aren't real darlin', it's all just made up stories."
🎃 "But I think there's one that lives under my bed!"
🎃 Van carries out a thorough investigation of Grace's bedroom with her, under the bed, in the wardrobe, behind the toy boxes. "What did I tell ya Gracie? There's no monsters in this house. And even if there were, I'd scare 'em all away for ya!"
🎃 "But Daddy, you're not scary!"
🎃 Van pulls his best monster face and tickles her until she's a giggling mess.
🎃 "C'mon now, it's time for sleep little one..."
🎃 "Please sing me a song, it helps me go to sleep!" Van sings softly to her and strokes her hair until her eyes flutter shut and it melts your heart seeing them together like this.
🎃 Drinking hot spiced apple cider together and snuggling up whilst you watch scary movies when Grace has finally fallen to sleep.
🎃 "C'mon love, cuddle up to me a bit closer... I don't want you to get too scared..."
🎃 You're not scared at all but you think Van might be by the number of times he's jumped and flinched throughout the horror film.
🎃 Trying to outdo each other, telling spooky ghost stories before you go to bed until you're both freaked out and your skin's prickling with goosebumps.
🎃 "We'd better keep the hallway light on tonight... ya know, just for Gracie... in case she wakes up scared of the dark..."
🎃 You just smirk at him. "Oh, are you sure that's just for Grace, Van?"

Flufftober 13th: Secret Family Recipe
Tumblr media
Summary: Christmas morning and you have a special surprise for your family.
Prompt by @flufftober Graphics by @firefly-graphics
Yes... I know it's Spooky season and I am here for it. But Christmas lives in my heart all year round and I couldn't help but right this one!
Tumblr media
You sat on your couch, enjoying the view of your decorated Christmas tree, and sipping your tea as you waited for your family to wake up on this cold Christmas morning. Normally, your kids would be up first, running into your room and jumping on you and Seb, begging to open presents. However, this year, you had a surprise in store for your husband and therefore, had been up on and off all night, making sure it would be ready first thing in the morning.
After a few more minutes, you heard the pitter patter of little feet and the grunts of your husband and you could only assume he had been cannon-balled in bed. A smile crossed your face at the thought. You could hear muffled conversation passing between them all and then he called out for you.
“Down here!” You called up, knowing that your peaceful moment was about to end. A noisy bounding of feet down the stairs and you suddenly had three excited and talkative monsters crowding you out on the couch. You laughed as the volume got louder and louder, and you saw Seb come downstairs as he threw a warm looking sweatshirt over his tee.
“Okay, okay. Don’t kill your mom before we get to open presents. Mmm, it smells great down here.” He said smiling while walking over to the back of the couch and leaning down over you. You leaned your head back and he bent down to give you an upside down kiss. “Good morning, Dragostea Mea.” He said sleepily. “I missed you this morning.” You kissed him back again and got up off the couch, a struggle since your kids had dogpiled onto it.
“I’m sorry, but I had a Christmas present to take care of and it was time sensitive.” You excitedly skipped over to the kitchen and he looked at you with slight confusion in his eyes, even though he followed you over. Running his fingers through his hair and yawning, his eyes focused on what was sitting on the island. Warm, freshly baked bread that smelled like heaven.
“I-Is that Cozonac?” He asked excitedly. You nodded in response. Knowing that the chocolate, orange, and walnut bread was one of his favorites.
“You’re mom and I knew that you were sad that she couldn’t be here this morning and I didn’t want the kids to not have it for breakfast. She gave me the family recipe and walked me through it. I have been up a good chunk of the night to get it made. I could have started it yesterday, but I wanted it to be a surprise.”
The smile on his face grew wide. His mother usually joined them on Christmas Eve and would stay the night, bringing a loaf with her for the kids, and him, to eat in the morning. But their flights had been canceled because of a snowstorm and they wouldn’t be able to get in until tonight at the earliest. He understood that sometimes that happened, but he was sad that they weren’t going to be able to be there and that their traditional Christmas morning treat wouldn’t happen.
“Darling… I don’t even know what to say.” He said as he shook his head as he wrapped his arms around you. “Thank you, I love you.”
You smiled at him and kissed him softly. “I love you, too. Crăciun fericit, my love.”
“Merry Christmas, dragostea mea.”

THE HALLOWEEN MASTER PLAYLIST
Halloween is my favorite holiday, and listening to some spooky music and watching horror films is mandatory if you’re really going to get into the spirit of the thing. (I eat candy, and dress like a hobo year-round, so that part of it was a given.) So I thought I’d post a master playlist of seasonal music a few weeks early in case any of you wanted to put something together for your own enjoyment, or maybe a Halloween party you might be planning.
Thinking outside the box (or coffin, if you prefer) I managed to do it without using Monster Mash or The Purple People Eater. But, there are roughly a hundred titles here, and I promise you if you turn down the lights, and close your eyes when you begin listening to it, you’ll have turned every light in the house back on, and double-locked every door.
Happy haunting.

Frightober Day 1: Dark
Word Count: 802
Warnings: Mention of spousal death, mention of parental death, implied/referenced toxic relationship (Lucy and Ray)
Fandom: The Frighteners
Pairings: Frank Bannister x Lucy Lynskey (future), Frank Bannister x Debra Bannister (past), Lucy Lynskey x Ray Lynskey (Canon NOTP)
Okay, it’s the beginning of Frightober! This is the first piece that I’m doing for the prompt list. I’m so excited to be doing this, even if this drabble is a little angsty. But soon, we’ll be getting some fluffy pieces this month.
Happy Spooky Season and enjoy!
————————
Frank trudged up the hill that the Fairwater Cemetery laid on. The summer heat beat down on him, adding to his frustration and anger. The sweat from his palms soaked through the stems of the pink carnations he was holding.
He stopped, sparing a glance towards the gravestones that bore his mother’s and his grandparents’ names. He hated to entertain what they would think of him now.
Probably the same that he thought of himself; that thanks to his own selfishness, he had lost the best thing that had ever happened to him.
He had destroyed the future that had stood before him and Debra with just one swerve of the steering wheel.
He began to take a step toward the gravestones and removed a few flowers from the bouquet, but stopped.
They probably wouldn’t want him around to disturb their eternal rest now, after all of this.
He continued his path towards Debra’s grave, ignoring the eyes surrounding him. He still hadn’t gotten used to this “gift” he had discovered while he was recuperating in the hospital.
When he finally reached the simple gravestone that bore Debra’s birth and death dates, he knelt at level with it.
Her funeral was only yesterday, but it felt like it had been forever.
It was a sorry affair.
Neither of them had any living family, so only a few so-called “friends” from college. Frank had been too distraught to give the eulogy.
He didn’t even know what he could have said.
“I’m sorry, Deb. It’s all my fault. I miss you.”
He was already living those three sentences every damn day.
What was he supposed to do now?
The house was still unfinished.
They were supposed to build a life together in that house, raise a family.
And thanks to him, that was all gone.
The carnations fell against the grave as his body was wracked with silent sobs.
“Are-- are you okay, sir?” a voice behind him asked.
Frank turned around; the voice had come from a tall, gangly man around his very early twenties, sporting round glasses that would have made Egon Spengler blush... and completely transparent.
“I’m-- I’m Stuart Harper...”
***
Lucy’s chest still felt as tight as it had when she had received that phone call last week.
The phone call that had told her that her mother had died.
The doctors had thought it was a heart attack at first, but it had grown apparent that it was an aortic dissection.
They had tried to repair the dissection, but Rosemary Spencer (formerly Alcott) died on the operating table.
And now, instead of attending her mother’s funeral, she was sitting in the very law row of the congregation of the wedding of one of Ray’s friends.
“What do you want me to say to Gordon, Lucy? I can’t be his best man ‘cause my mother-in-law dropped dead.”
“No, Ray. But you don’t have to go; it’ll just be me--”
“And make me look like a jackass that I can’t get my own wife to go to a wedding with me?!”
“Ray... please...”
“The both of us are going to that wedding, no matter what.”
Lucy wouldn’t have begrudged Ray if he himself was against going to the funeral.
Rosemary had made it clear that she was not fond of him, and even told Lucy once (when they were alone, of course) that she could do much better, and that Ray wasn’t treating her right.
When Ray had learned of this, he told Lucy that he thought that Rosemary coddled her, purposely kept her too naive.
But even after all of that, he had to realize that her mother was all she had left.
Her father had died in a car crash when she was only twelve, four years after her parents divorced. After that, her mother had been the only constant in her life.
Her only friend and confidant.
And she wouldn’t get to say goodbye.
By the reception, Lucy was able to slip back to her and Ray’s hotel room. It was a blessing that no one seemed to notice her.
All of Ray’s friends always leered at her, talking about how pretty she was, how lucky Ray was, and when they were drunk, would whisper to each other how they would like her to suck them off.
And all of their wives and girlfriends hated her for that, as if it was Lucy’s fault that the men in their lives were absolute pigs.
Once she had crossed the threshold of the hotel room, she didn’t even bother to change into her pajamas or wipe off her makeup. She was too tired.
She let herself fall onto the bed, front-first, and curl up into a ball, letting out the sobs that she had struggled to contain throughout the week.
————————
I hope you guys enjoyed this. I was kinda in a rush because I thought I would pre-write all of this stuff before hand, but I ended up writing this at nine pm the night before.
Anyway, Happy Spooky Season and Happy Frightober!

10 Books to read this Autumn & Halloween🍁🍂🍁
Tumblr media
1. Dracula  by Bram Stoker
This start of beautiful season off with something classic and a little scary.
The name of Dracula brings to mind visions of vampires, stakes, garlic, and crucifixes. Yet, when you read the novel, it becomes self-evident how twisted modern vampire fiction now is. The vampires in  this classic story are not meant to inhabit the roles of heroes. Instead you go back a few hundred years when men and women believed truly that the vampire was a real immortal, cursed to quench his undying thirst with a living mortal’s blood. The very idea of a blood drinker should, therefore, inspire the image of a villain and that is what the titular character of this novel is. A villan you can’t help but keep reading about.

2.  And Then There Were None by  Agatha Christie
Another story that is perfect if you want something that will keep you up at night like it did for me when I read it last year.
There is scarcely any comfort to be found in this book, only an ancient, arcane horror. Ten people receive a mystery letter from someone they don't know that indicates they should come to a remote island. Why would they go????? After arriving, they try to figure out the connection between all of them while waiting for their mysterious host. After coming across a cute little poem about how ten little indians die, they decide they will wait it out until the next morning when the ferry comes back to take them home. But it will never come! Each guest suddenly dies matching the line from a poem. It really keeps you on the edge of your seat.

3.  THE BONE WITCH BY RIN CHUPECO
A story about a young witch just fits so well with this season, but this story is not about a teenage witch =just flying around on a broom. No it’s far darker than that. When Tea accidentally resurrects her brother from the dead, she learns she is different from the other witches in her family. Her gift for necromancy means that she’s a bone witch, a title that makes her feared and ostracized by her community. But Tea finds solace and guidance with an older, wiser bone witch, who takes Tea and her brother to another land for training. In her new home, Tea puts all her energy into becoming an asha—one who can wield elemental magic. But dark forces are approaching quickly, and in the face of danger, Tea will have to overcome her obstacles…and make a powerful choice.

4. Night Film by Marisha Pessl
This story opens in October on a cool evening with a blood chilling scene, it’s really everything you could hope for on a autumn night.
Night Film opens on a cold, cursed October evening, when Ashley Cordova, a young women full of potential, is found dead in a warehouse. Police rule her death a suicide, but investigative journalist Scott McGrath isn't so sure. From that inception point, Scott McGrath enters the strange circumstances surrounding Ashley's life and death, and comes face-to-face with the legacy of her father: the legendary, reclusive cult-horror film director Stanislaus Cordova--a man who hasn't been seen in public for more than thirty years. For McGrath, another death connected to this seemingly cursed family dynasty seems more than just a coincidence. Though much has been written about Cordova's dark and unsettling films, very little is known about the man himself. Driven by revenge, curiosity, and a need for the truth, McGrath, with the aid of two strangers, is drawn deeper and deeper into Cordova's eerie, hypnotic world. The last time he got close to exposing the director, McGrath lost his marriage and his career. This time he might lose even more.

5. Autumn by Ali Smith
Ali Smith's lauded Seasonal quartet, a series of four novels rooted in a different time of year, kicks off with Autumn there we watch as love is won, love is lost. Hope is hand in hand with hopelessness. The seasons roll round, as they always do.
Tumblr media
6. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
I can’t tell you how many times i have read  this beaful story in my life buti wants have it one my list to read at last once a year and i find it fits so well in to the amazing season that is autumn with   The romantic clash between the opinionated Elizabeth and her proud beau, Mr. Darcy, is a splendid performance of civilized sparring
Tumblr media
7.I Know Who You Are by Alice Feeney
This story is haunting and it will stay with you after you read it.
It's dark, twisted and unpredictable until the very last chapter keeping me on the edge of my seat from the very beginning. You are met with the unknown as you meet Aimee Sinclair, an actress who after coming home, she realizes her husband is missing and after that you are sent on a wild ride to find him.
Tumblr media
8.Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
Another classic. I have always found that that reading about a world now gone is so very perfect for autumn, as we watch the leaves we had watch grow turn colors and fly away from us.
Little Women is a beauty told story with each of the sisters seeks out a different form of happiness: Meg wants to marry, Jo wants to be a writer, Beth wants to care for her family, and Amy craves material success. We get to live their world as we following the lives and loves of the four March sisters and their mother as they mature from youth through adolescence and adulthood.
Tumblr media
9.Mexican Gothic  by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
If you love gothic horror, this one is for you. It has the same feeling as Jane Eyre but way creepier and set in 1950’s Mexico.
The atmosphere is perfect for the season, a debutante heads to a creepy countryside house, after receiving an ominous letter from her newlywed cousin, and finds the dark secrets that lie within the house and its occupants.
Tumblr media
10.The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James
A suspenseful and eerie mystery told via dual timelines all surrounding a rundown roadside motel and the secrets lurking that captivated a woman so much that she went missing in the 1980’s and now have caught the attention of her niece 35 years later. If you love a good mystery mixed with timeline jumping this a perfect one for you.

I felt we needed a more traditional MGG x Reader story on here.
The cheesy old style. I’ve started writing it. It’s terrible. Enjoy part one.
I’d like to make it into a slow burn romance/horror if I can. I never see paranormal stories with him and I’m sure he’d enjoy such trials.
Be kind please. I don’t write much because of my mental health but MGG makes me feel better.

Gallows Hill
Part One
Part Two
Word Count: 875
Autumn.
My favorite season; the crisp air, the smell of fallen leaves. The beauty of death is shown proudly in the limbs of the trees. As they shed their leaves and fall into their annual slumber, only to be reborn in the spring. Who could resist such a sight?
I love this time of the year. Something about Autumn made anywhere feel like home. Maybe it's the smell of pumpkin pie in the air, or maybe just the atmosphere. People tend to feel most comfortable in Autumn. They're friendlier; more welcoming. The people in Salem always found ways to make visitors feel at home. This is their season after all.
Tourists flock to the old town to see where the witch trials were held. They love that sort of thing around Halloween. I tend to seek out spooky things all year round. That's just what I like. I've never been afraid of the scary stories that circulate through smaller towns like Salem. Haunted houses fascinate me.
I chose to visit Salem for the second time this month because a certain someone was celebrating his own made-up holiday in the area.
Gublerween.
Matthew Gray Gubler. That tall, goofy man. His art and his interest in all things macabre. If I believed in soulmates, I would say he's mine. The way he carries himself so proudly in his old converse and grandma sweaters made my heart swell. I loved that he also carried around a backpack full of random items; mostly useful.
I came in search of him, hoping to introduce him to some of my favorite spots in the area.
That's such a silly dream. Stop living in your head, Y/N.
I never can escape my own mind. I'm always daydreaming. Maybe that's why I feel so comfortable anywhere I travel.
As I stepped out onto the old cobbled streets of the witch town, my eyes instantly scanned the crowds for the lanky man with the fluffy curly hair.
Nothing.
I hooked my thumbs under the straps of my backpack and headed out into the chaos. Children in costumes and their parents packing their bags full of candy for the weekend's festivities. Everyone seems so happy at the moment. I looked to the ground and squeezed past the families, watching their shoes as I toed along. Loafers and heels and a few pairs of ratty old combat boots filled the street.
"Where are you off to in such a hurry?" A soft voice chimed from my left side. I looked up to see a familiar pair of hazel eyes, "Just trying to get out of everyone's way." I replied with a small smile.
Mr. Thompson. He owns the cutest little bookstore in town. The oldest one too. He's always got something new, well old, for me to add to my collection.
"I found something I think you'll like. I was gonna save it for your visit next year but you're back already!" He grinned, his old eyes crinkling at the corners. He pushed open the door to his shop and waved me inside. I politely nodded at his kind gesture and slipped through the narrow doorway, taking in the scent of old literature. "Why are you back so soon?" He asked as he moved to his place behind his mess of a desk.
I sighed and looked away, my face turning slightly pink out of embarrassment, "I was hoping to run into a certain artist slash actor that I've been in love with for the last ten years." Admitting such a silly thing out loud made my stomach churn. He let out a soft chuckle and pulled an old book from his desk drawer. A sticky note with my name written in his scrawly handwriting sat promptly over the title, "Something Wicked This Way Comes," he seemed proud of his find, "First edition." He peeled the paper off and slid it across the desktop.
"Thompson you absolute gem." I had always wanted a first edition of this book. It was the best for the Halloween season. When Matthew pulled it out of his backpack during that one interview deeming it his October favorite, I knew I'd have to meet him. One way or another.
As obsessive as I sound in my head, I have no ill intention. Mr. Thompson picked up the glasses that hung around his neck, setting them on the end of his nose as he looked at me, "So who is this actor slash artist person you're trying to hunt down? I'll keep my eye out for him." He chuckled softly, his thin lips curled into a cheeky smile. He teases me just the way my grandfather used to. It made me feel safe; loved.
"His name is Matthew," I started, my mind wandering to the pictures he'd posted to his Twitter this morning, "He posted pictures in a black sweater this morning. It had red, squiggly lines on it. He's got these goofy, cute Buddy Holly-esque glasses on. Curly hair. Kinda tall."
Mr. Thompson's head turned to the back room, his eyes narrowing as he nodded, "Him?"
I quickly poked my head around the tall bookcase that stood between me and the back room full of poetry and dark literature.
Matthew.

Amphibia Reviews: Toad to Redemption and Maddie and Marcy
Tumblr media
Hello all you happy people! And welcome back to my weekly coverage of Amphibia! And today we have a suprisingly important Toadstool episode.. and a MADDIE AND MARCY EPISODE. Guess which one i’m actually excited about. But regradless it’s a good batch this week so join me under the cut for my thoughts with spoilers
Tumblr media
Toad to Redemption: A not half bad episode, this one concerns everyone’s faviorite Monopoly Man Fried Chicken Baby, as it turns out he’s finally grown a heart. It turns out the Toad Tower incident.. actually changed him as a person. I’m as shocked as you. I mean he’s still a greedy corrupt hick, you can’t paint a gopher orange and call it a basketball...
Tumblr media
Look i’ts a long story i’m legally barred from talking about. Point is Toadstool is a greedy asshole but one who cares about his consituents now and actually enjoys the town and taking care of it. In return the citzens actually like him now: they may of rightfully tried to vote him out but his genuine attempts at doing good, in this episodes case spending money on potholes instead of a Jacuzzi for him and Toadie and helping fix a falling sign, have made him actually beloved.
Naturally though, it’s not that easy and a newt comes down to give him the job running Toad Tower, and him refusing it would mean time in prison. Because as if we needed the reminder, The Newt ruling class sucks and so far the only person we’ve seen related to the castle who isn’t either hiding an edltrich demon,  a snob, or some form of hired goon is Marcy, whose blind to all of that. I do wish Marcy was in this episode for that reason, as i’m waiting for her to finally see the downside of the king and the people she’s been working for, but I get why not: it’d make the episode too easy, and distract from the character it’s actually about and to the episodes credit they wrote her out well enough: She’s studying Frobo all day.
So the Mayor begs Anne, who showed up with a bunch of parking tickets from Hop Pop (And ones from when they were out of town no less), for help. She only ends up agreeing becaue his puppy dog eyes are so ungodly unsettling she just wants it to stop but I presume getting those parking tickets cleared up is part of it.
So it goes as you’d expect: THe Plantars try to make him look bad, it dosen’t work. Though to Toadstool’s credit despite the hefty punishment he does prepare to tell the newt lady off after she explains Toadie won’t be going with them. You can do a LOT to Toadstool but no one is a condescning bitch to his husband-minon and gets away with it!
But then the three toads from last season show up, the ones Anne fought, lead by Bog that pointy guy. Look i’ts been almost two years. and felt like 90. The Toads have become Bandit’s since leaving Grime behind, which.. you.. you could’ve done that and had a consistent base of operations and a home in the frog alps. So naturally a fight breaks out but Toadstool bluffs htem to throw them off guard and the town easily fights them off.
Thankfully Toadstool gets out of things. Jacinda, said newt lady, finds him too soft for the job and puts Bog in charge.... so.. yay? No.. not really no yay here none. So while our heroes goad themselves for yet another enemy on the docket, the town confirm how much they care about Toadstool, Toadstool caresses toady and I die a little on the inside.
Toad to Redemption is decent. It’s not the best of this half of the season but it does speak to how this half has been far better, with the return to wartwood giving us far more character stuff that had been lacking, and notably focusing more on the side cast. Speaking of whiccchhhhh
Maddie and Marcy Look unless this episode screwed up horribly somehow, this episode already had my good will just by teaming up two of my faviorites: As i’ve made clear Marcy is endlessly relatable to me as an awkward nerd myself and Haley brings her a-game every time. As for Maddie she was an instant faviorite from her first apperance being married off to Sprig, with her spotlight episode “Cursed!” being one of my faviorites of the series thus far, and a generally great one that fleshed her out from a creepy but endearing backgroudn character with sinsiter intent. to a nice if spooky little girl who uses the darkest magics for the greatest goods.
So the two were a natural to not only get a spotlight together, but also in something the show lampshades one that’s mostly devoid of the main cast. Anne, Sprig and Hop Pop all only show up for quick gags, and the story is entirley around the titular Duo. And safe to say my hype was warranted: This is one of the standouts of the season by a long shot and one of the funniest episodes this season, while giving Maddie even more depth and allowing Marcie to play a supporting roll this go round.
Maddie is working on her biggest spell yet: to raise the dead. Frankenstein styles. But her sisters keep begging her for attention and eventually get bored and spill her carefully prepared cauldron causing her to snap at them. It is however a nice layered conflict: This is very important to Maddie and rightfully so as this is her first level 2 spell, and she was specifically asked to do it by one of the neighbors. And it’s not like this is something she can half ass... if done right you get frakenweenie if done wrong you get pet semetary. It’s a very fine line. This is her passion, her calling as she puts it later when she explains her backstory. The issue is she treats her sisters like babies and ignores them due to this passion.. it’s fine to have passions but you have to make time for those who matter. I’ts fine she dosen’t spend as much time with her sibs as she used to, juggling them and flashback Maddie is fucking precious... but she has to make some for them. They love her. They have to understand how important this is to her and she has to understand how important she is to them.
So Maddie skulks off to get get some suplies, and Marcy is impressed as she’s been looking for a magic user and tries introducing herself.. and gets set on fire. But the two quickly bond: Marcie’s been looking for a teacher in magic being a fan of something resembling harry potter... I really feel for this show as i’ts clear the creators were fans from this episode’s tiny shout out to it and the first temple’s bigger one, and they clearly had no idea any of this would happen. None of us did. So we get a bonding montage which is the best scene of the episode and the funniest scene of the season, and very possibly the series, thus far. The two find slime, ticks, a corpse (Or rather hop pop whose annoyed they thought he was a corpse), digging up some graveyard soil next to some confused mourners and best of all “assorted limbs” which while I have the image up front I can’t resist sharing again..
Tumblr media
This.. is easily the best thing the series has ever produced. Their just so fucking precious. They also high five each other as new best friends. The triplets though aren’t happy about any of this, not getting that shared intrests are a thing and what not and instead plot to get big. Look there are easier ways to do that: asking zoltar.. or a groovy ant who wants you to do a rap number.
youtube
They instead use one of Maddie’s spells without asking and also vandalize her book because their babies.. she snaps at them again and they plan to grow big. Meanwhile Marcie and her beloved apprentence work on tampering in frog’s domain and successfuly do a necromancy.. only for the now giant sized triplet #1 to bound in.. followed by #’s 2 and 3. Our two heroines run for their lives from the giant babies, and Maddie is panicked as she now realizes what they did.. and that without proper ballance, the spell will cause them to explode.
Tumblr media
So while the triplets grasp with the expansion and inetivible kaboom, Maddie has Marcie prepare an antidote for four.. and goes alll giant man to calm them, juggling them adorably one last time. Peace is restored and Maddie agrees to get a better work life ballance.
Maddie and Marcy as I said is one of the standout sof the season and easily my faviorite so far, being funny while having great character work, which is when the show’s at it’s best. or dramatic and great character work. either way this one was a treat.
Next Week: Our heroes seek out a second temple, while our anti-heroes seek out a legendary hammer.

Dressed Up For Halloween (Hoseok)
Tumblr media
Summary: You love Halloween and everything about this day, the costumes, the scary movies, all of it. But your boyfriend most certainly does not. Your costume for this year may have been too much for your poor boyfriend’s heart.
Warnings: SMUT! As per usual, be prepared for: swearing, erotic body touching, thigh humping, oral sex (female and male receiving), fingering, 69 position, grinding, unprotected sex (please be safe out there!), cowgirl position, multiple orgasms (female receiving).
Word Count: 3776
So maybe you went a little overboard with your costume this year. Especially taking into consideration that you had nothing planned and would probably just stay home all night, opening up the door to any kids trick-or-treating around your neighborhood.
But you loved Halloween. You loved the spooky season, the decorations, the colors, the opportunity to dress up as whatever you liked. Just because you had nowhere to go to, didn’t mean you didn’t want to celebrate it just as much. But as the ever so ironic life would have it, you had to end up in a relationship with someone who mostly dreaded the iconic day.
You had been trying to change his mind all month long, but he really wasn’t having it. He didn’t want to dress up, refused the opportunity to get tickets for the haunted house this year and agreed to watch only one scary movie with you once he got home.
Even so, you still loved Halloween so you made the effort and got yourself into costume. And maybe overdid it a tiny bit. You got a fantastic red and black jesterina outfit on sale online, a romper with an asymmetric one-shoulder top, with ruffles at the collar and mismatched patterns, a black tule skirt to go over your large hips and barely conceal your thick legs left bare by the shorts, thigh-high mismatched socks that went along with the rest of the outfit. It also came with one glove for your unclothed arm, a curly wig colored black on one side and red on the other and even a cane with a skull for a handle.
That was all well still, you thought you looked kind of sexy, actually. But then you started on your make-up. And you went a little too “joker” for your boyfriend’s taste, with two lines extending your smile across your cheeks, diamond-shaped black eyeshadow on your eyes and paste white skin on your face. You were just finishing applying your red lipstick when you hear the door open and a sunny voice calling.
“Sweet cheeks, I’m home!”
You hear the slippers making their way through the floor of the hallway in the direction of the room you were in. You smile and throw the door open and jump, with the intention of pulling him in for a surprise hug.
“Hey darling, I’m here!” you say happily, arms stretched out and about to throw yourself at him. Thankfully, you managed to stay balanced when he screams in a high-pitch and falls to his knees with his hand on top of his heart.
Hoseok’s face elongated as he screamed with his mouth wide open, eyes rounded with panic as he fell on his buttocks. The yell soon gave way to a whine as he realized it was you and his features scrunched up when he frowned heavily with a pout, shaking his head and calming his beating heart. He was wearing a black hoodie with colorful lettering at the chest and down the sides of his arms, with simple baggy white sweatpants.
“Why are you wearing that?” he cries, trying to get back on his feet. “Do you want to give me a heart attack? I swear my soul left my body for a second…”
“Sorry, Hobi, I didn’t mean to! I just… kind of got carried away with my costume?” you apologized, helping him back up.
“You know I hate scary clowns and as much as I love you, seeing you like this gives me the heebie-jeebies” he complains, barely able to look at your painted face.
“Fine, fine! Give me a second and I’ll take it all off. How about you start the popcorns for our movie night?” you propose as you get back into the bedroom searching for your make-up wipes.
“Are we still watching a horror movie?” he asks in an anxious tone, probably hoping for a negative answer.
“Yup” you respond without hesitation.
“Really? Even after you almost kill me, do you have to make me suffer?”
“Hoseok, stop exaggerating. And you promised we could watch at least one scary movie tonight; you know they are my favorites! And it’s Halloween, for God’s sake!”
“If only God had anything to do with this day, it would probably be less scary…” you hear him mumble as he walks back down the hallway.
“You say that because you never read the Bible! It’s full of scary shit!” you yell back, laughing to yourself as he dismisses you in a resigned voice.
Removing your make-up, you end up with a clean face and decide to keep it that way. You walk into the open-concept living room, with an open view to the kitchen where he was putting the popcorn in the microwave. Feeling just a bit apologetic for scaring him like that, even though you were sure the memory would cause you to giggle in the near future, you walk silently towards him and throw your arms around his middle as you hug him from the back. He startles for just a moment, before his arms quickly cover yours and he relaxes into you.
“I’m sorry I scared you, Hobi. I’ll try and discipline myself for the next Halloween” you promise with your chubby cheek pressed against his back.
“It’s okay, sweet cheeks” he assures, spinning around so he can have a look at your cute face. “Oh, my bare face girlfriend is so incredibly cute!”
He smiles and leans down to kiss both of your cheeks, his hands circling the top of your neck, fingers brushing the skin behind your ears. You can’t help but return the smile, always incredibly contented when he reacted like this even when you weren’t wearing any make-up. For someone that spent so much time in that world, with all beautiful woman looking so amazing all the time, it meant a lot to you.
“You’re just trying to distract me so we won’t see the movie, aren’t you?” you joke, a breathy chortle leaving your smiling lips.
Your eyes watch first with amusement and then with incredulity as Hoseok’s expression lights up at such a concept, a smirk taking over those well-defined wide lips that end up attaching themselves to the skin of oft your jaw line.
“That’s not a bad idea. Pretty sure I could do that” he declares with confidence, hands starting to wonder from your neck to your squishy waist, pulling you closer as he kept pecking at you neck.
“I was kidding, Hobi” you inform, rolling your eyes at him but at the same time fighting the tingles his mouth was leaving just below the surface of your skin.
“But I’m not. And without the scary make-up from before, I have to say you look very sexy for a Halloween costume.”
“Th-Thanks” you manage to say, your heart starting to speed up once his hands brushed your sides and explored your back, lips pressed against the juncture of your neck and shoulder. Fortunately, the beep of the microwave brought you back to reality. “C’mon, the popcorn is ready”.
You manage to sneak past his arms and get to the microwave, taking the popcorn out to a bowl and speed-running to the couch, with a pouting Hoseok right behind you.
“What are we watching anyway? It better not involve murderous clowns, Y/N!” he warns, with anxious uncertainty that makes his voice a bit higher than usual.
He seats next to you on the couch, two arms sprayed wide across the back and crossing legs, foot twitching with anticipation. You turn to him with an excited smile, turning on the TV with the movie already set to play.
“Don’t worry, darling. Today, we’re going back to the classics! Nothing too bad, you’ll see.”
And it wasn’t, not for you. In fact, you almost knew all the scenes by heart, always perfectly aware of what was about to happen next. As for your boyfriend, well, he jumped and screamed at every little jumpscare and even a few non-jumpscary scenes that just changed the camera too quickly or increased the volume too much.
You would think it would be annoying for someone like you to watch the movie with someone like Hoseok, but it was honestly so fun. It had been so long since you saw anyone getting truly scared of such an old movie and his reactions were priceless. You wanted to watch every single scary movie ever made with him by your side, even if it meant you would spend more time looking at him and hearing his whimpers and screams rather than the film itself.
“Is it over? It’s over, right? It’s over?” he asks with a pillow in front of his face as the last character gets killed on screen and you know the movie is about ten minutes to the end.
“Yes, it’s over, you can watch now” you reassure him, shaking your head and laughing for yourself.
The doorbell rings and Hoseok yelps in the couch at the sudden sound.
“Calm down, Hobi! It must be the kids trick-or-treating” you guess and, opening the door, you find you were right.
You hand out some of the candy you had bought for today and get complimented on your outfit. It might have been with the hopes of getting some extra candy, but you like to think the kids were thrilled to have a ‘jesterina’ giving them out candy. By the time you look back at the television, the credits were already scrolling and Hoseok was laying down on the couch. You take off the wig you had been wearing, sighing with relief as you set your hair free, and join him.
“I think those will be the only guests tonight. Didn’t see any other kids out there besides that one group” you share as you come around the sofa and manage to sit your bountiful butt at the edge of the seat, against his thighs while you brush his arm carefully. “You okay? It wasn’t that bad, was it?”
“I guess not” he admits, one of his hands coming to land on your leg and he starts picking at the long sock covering it. “I do have to say, seeing you dressed up for Halloween does make me like this day a little better. You look gorgeous in this.”
You smile and lean down to peck at his lips.
“Thank you, darling.”
You were about to straighten back up, but his hands come around your back and keep your chest pressed to his, faces mere inches away and the look on his eyes changes to a craving one, albeit with a hint of playfulness behind them.
“You could try and persuade me to appreciate the day even more” he suggests in a low voice with a smirk, leaving butterflies kisses around the flushing skin of your face.
“Oh? Is that so?” you exhale in wonder, already giving in and laying comfortably on the couch on top of him, your heavy weight almost entirely on top of him except for how you kept one arm holding you up, and your legs intertwined with his. “Do tell.”
“Better yet, let me show you.”
And with that he takes hold of your mouth, demanding lips tugging at yours and moving with intent, small sparks of electricity prickly at your brain as you respond. You could taste the popcorn and the soda he had been drinking as your mouths smacked together, his hands on your back and your ass keeping you close to him while you gripped his bicep with your free hand.
Soon his tongue darts out to taste your lips and reexamine every crevice of your mouth, as if it had never done so before, curling around yours in a breathtaking encounter. His kisses are hungry and demanding, stealing any coherent thought from your brain and instigating the most naturally needy sounds you had ever made.
Blood is rushing through your veins at a dizzying speed and you can feel a frustrating tug at the pit of your stomach. His hands move to encapsule the most they could of your plentiful rump, under the tule but over the romper, kneading at the flesh there as if it was play-doh. And then he raises his leg and guides your hips just right to make you grind on his thigh while he kisses you and a throaty moan leaves your lips.
“Hoseok, you know what that does to me” you complain with your eyes close, leaning back up.
“Yeah, I do” he says, and then he does it again, flexing his covered leg and making you grind on it.
You moan and a shudder rushes through you again, your core burning with need and the thigh in between your legs giving just the amount of relief that had you craving for so much more. Even with all of the clothes still in between, you could feel yourself growing slicker by the second.
“Get up and take the costume off, sweet cheeks” he asks in almost an order, retrieving his leg from yours. You get up from the couch to do so, starting with the tule and then going for the socks before he stopped you. “Leave the socks. I kind of like them on you.”
“Fine. And you can keep the pants, but I want your hoodie off” you retaliate, searching for the zipper on your romper.
“As you wish” he is more than happy to comply.
Once you are only in your underwear and socks, Hoseok still in his pants but his muscular torso displayed for your sight, he sits on the couch upright and pulls you in by the waist. He kisses your fluffy stomach and squeezes at your love handles, then at your ass and thighs. Your hands explore the naked skin of his strong arms and the expanse of his shoulders while he does so, your body growing with heat from within at each of his ministrations.
Slowly, his thumbs hook at the sides of your panties and pull them down your thick legs, kisses lowering down to the sides of your dimpled legs and upper thighs, contributing for the mess between them.
“Come here, baby” he calls, lying back down on the couch.
You nod and are about to lay on top of him again, facing him, when he shakes his head and grabs you, making you turn around and before you know it, he is trying to make you sit on his face while you face his lower body. Your heart flips with nervousness and you try to pull away, unsure of yourself.
“Hoseok, I don’t know if-”
But he doesn’t let you get away. He encircles your legs with his arms and pulls himself up just enough to reach your hoovering core, mouth open and taking one big lick in between your puffy lips. You wail and lose strength on your legs, making it easy for him to lay back down with his face still secured between your thighs. His tongue dips back into your slick slit, making zig-zag lines on the velvet skin and circles around your trembling entrance, making you absolutely out of your mind.
Your chest is laying down over his abdominals, his crotch right at the level of your face and you eye the tall tent forming inside his pants. Your mouth waters and you still have enough brainpower to manage to pull them down, releasing his beautiful long and thick cock. Almost as if per instinct, your right hand encircles his girth and he grunts into your pussy, the vibrations sending shock waves of pleasure up your body. You moan and your hand stars pumping him, increasing the tightness and speed as he got harder and harder in your hands, tip flushed red and twitching. That is when you take him into your mouth, your hand still at his base but englobing the rest of his length between your lips.
You can’t be sure of what he says, since his lips are still very much attached to your juicy pussy, but you are fairly certain he curses when you start sucking him off, bopping your head up and down, letting your tongue press against his shaft inside your warm mouth, fighting to breathe when his tip reached so deep inside your throat you almost gagged.
Pleasuring him only seemed to provoke him even further, and now Hoseok has found your fleshy little pearl at the top of your labia and uses his hands to open your cunt even further by pushing your ass cheeks apart, exposing your clit for his tongue’s torture.
You have to release his cock to scream, the pleasure so intense your hips start shaking, a wet string still binding your lips to his dick. Your hand starts pumping him as you try to regain your breath, the saliva providing decent lubrification.
You had every intention of resuming your work with your mouth, but Hoseok decides to had one of his fingers into the mixture, keeping his tongue busy with your clit while his ring finger fucked at your little hole from behind like there was no tomorrow. You couldn’t take it, it was all the right stimulation to push you over the edge and the knot in your womb came undone fast, your pussy clinging to his finger and your hips shaking against his face as you orgasmed.
“Ah..! Ahhh!!... Hoseok!... Hoseok…” you screamed and then sighed his name as you came, your forehead falling to his stomach as he kept his mouth on you until he felt you were done.
“Was that good for you, love?” he has the audacity to ask, as if you weren’t fighting for air as he spoke.
“Y-yeah…” you still respond, brain too mushy to come up with more than that.
“Good, because that was fucking awesome for me too. Ready to continue?” He bites and then kisses at the back of your thigh, hands brushing the skin lovingly.
“Continue?”
His hand joins the one you still had absent-mindedly around his shaft, tightening your fist and making it move up and down his still very much erect member.
“Ride me, love?” he asks, with a sweet tone of voice you always had trouble saying no to. “Please?”
Regaining control over your body, you nod and rearrange yourself, standing up just to turn around to face him and then straddle his waist. One look at his face and you lick your lips, seeing his flushed cheeks, dark eyes and the remains of your pleasure staining all around his mouth renewing your lustful desire. You wanted to pleasure him too, make him crumble underneath you, have his face scrunch up in the most beautiful of ways as he achieved his relief.
First, you just grind on him. Your already slippery cunt moving with ease atop his cock, trapping him in between his lower abdominals and your body. Hoseok groaned with frustration and grasped your upper legs with an almost violent force, but did nothing else to stop you from continuing your agonizing cares.
You started slow, taking him into your hand and aligning him correctly, taking just the tip first and then, very gradually, sinking down on him completely. Oh, the way he nestled just right inside of you had you already pulsing hard and he could feel it, much to his frustration. You rest your hands across his torso, letting your fingers brush his tense muscles with delight and even playing with his nipples for a few moments.
The pace goes soft and tender as you pull yourself up only to descend back down on him, enjoying the feeling of him hitting you deep inside your craving tunnel, the way his cock brushed your eager inner walls, all the pleasure it brought. The tightness inside your gut was back full-force, strong tugs at the renewed knot keeping you together as you kept moving.
Hoseok moaned and grunted as he watched you bouncing up and down on him, the way your body jiggled and the ripples of your flesh at each descent only intensifying the fire threatening to consume him from his groin to the ends of his body. You looked the most beautiful to him like this, riding him as you chased your own pleasure, using him to reach that sweet relief. He had to control himself tremendously to keep himself from reaching his end before you.
As much as you enjoyed taking your time, it was difficult when he felt this good, filled you up so deliciously, looked this hot under you. Before you know it, your hips are snapping faster, quicker, his head kissing at your cervix and smashing against a sensitive spot that electrifies every cell of your body. Your own moans and hisses join his grunts and fill the air alongside the erotic sound of skin slapping together.
The strength of your arms fails you and you lean down on him, hiding your head on his neck. You don’t even realize that he is now moving his hips, thrusting upwards to your inviting cunt with unmeasurable speed as he holds on to you for dear life. He is whispering you name over and over again against your ear but you can’t even hear him with the white noise and the blood rushing through your veins.
The knot holding you together breaks in the midst of his deep plunges, cascading waves of pleasure coming down on you while you moan loud, your inner walls convulsing around his length, fluttering with orgasmic relief. Hoseok feels your throbbing walls sucking him in and is like a match had been lit in his flammable gut, abdomen contracting and leading to him emptying himself inside of you, white spurts of cum painting your walls.
You can’t help but let your full weight fall down on him, your muscles refusing to work for quite a while after your climax. Your head stays glued to his chest and you smile as you feel his ribcage moving up and down as he tries to catch his breath, heart hammering inside. You wonder if he can feel yours too, beating at a similar speed.
“I’ll… I’ll watch two scary movies next year if… if we can do this again” he declares, still short of breath but already peppy enough to tease.
You laugh and force yourself to look up at him from his chest, raising your eyebrows at him.
“Are you telling me you really wanna wait a full year before we do this again?”
“No fucking chance” he immediately states, grabbing your face and pulling in for a sweet loving kiss.

Need A Hand?
Tumblr media
Summary: Toshinori thought visiting the park would bring him some peace of mind. Instead, he ends up chasing after your dog who stole his bony hand.
Author’s Note: So I’ve been listening to the Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack on Spotify and BAM got a story idea. It’s also been a while since I wrote something for Toshinori so yay!! (My fave pro hero :D)
Please enjoy!
Word Count: 943
Tumblr media
“Get back here!”
Today was not Toshinori’s day.
After an awful day at work, he visited the park to feed the crows—his favorite pastime. Dead grass plagued the endless acres of land. Wilted flowers moped until their weak stems broke under the immense sadness. And black trees stretched their thin branches into million directions. The park was a hideous sight, an eyesore even. Yet, it was loved by all in this strange and mystical place known as Halloween Town.
Contrary to belief, not everyone was vicious or mean. But the young and rowdy troublemakers wreaked havoc around town. They played nasty pranks all year round and did it with devious smiles. No one was safe from their pesky hands, including Toshinori, who learned the hard way.
A young, stout boy with spiky horns snuck out the bushes like a sneaky cat. Pudgy fingers poured gooey spider silk on the bench. Without looking, Toshinori foolishly rested his hand on top of the sticky substance. He tugged with all his strength, but the silk was tougher than steel. His blue eyes glared at the cackling boy scurrying away.
But that wasn’t the worst part.
For you see, the skeleton man tugged and tugged until pop! He roughly fell on his bottom while his right hand soared high in the air. It landed near the crows, spooking them to the bare trees. The world spun as he sat up but squinted when a tiny spirit dog sniffed his bony hand. The dog happily snatched it like a prized toy and flew away.
“Hey! Get back here!”
And so Toshinori chased after the dog all through the park. Even with lanky legs that ran for miles, the man struggled to catch up to the pint-sized animal. It weaved through the other monsters without fuss, white ears flopping behind him. Meanwhile, Toshinori’s steps fumbled as he ungracefully squirmed through the annoyed crowd. He sputtered an endless chorus of apologies over his shoulders.
There was no time to stop—not when he was trying to get his hand back.
Toshinori gasped when he faced forward and skittered to an abrupt stop. His black shoes dug themselves into the spongy grass, breathing a small sigh of relief. He narrowly avoided crashing into—oh my, Toshinori’s ribs tightened when his eyes finally land on you.
Stitches traveled everywhere from the tip of your forehead to the depths of your ankles. They were like beautiful vines climbing up on the trees. Toshinori almost didn’t notice the colorful patchwork dress you wore. It looked soft and fit you like a glove. He could admire you for eternity if it wasn’t for the ghost dog he needed to find.
Said dog’s head peeked from behind you.
“My hand!”
“Huh?” you looked back and scolded, “Sho! Bad dog! You don’t go stealing someone’s hand like that. Give it here.”
The dog whined but obeyed. His ears drooped in shame as you took the hand covered in drool. You quickly wiped it with your dress, making Toshinori’s mouth drop. He couldn’t believe you would risk dirtying your lovely clothes for his measly hand. The whole ordeal probably made his right fingers twitch.
You stared at him and softly smiled, “Need a hand?”
“I-I, uh,” Toshinori stood up to his towering height, embarrassingly coughing into his other hand. You craned your neck while fighting back a chuckle. He was so shy for a man of this massive size. Toshinori grabbed the right hand and placed it back on him. “Thank you. I’m sorry if I caused any trouble.”
“Please, if anyone should be apologizing, it should be me,” you gently pat your dog’s head. He barked and wagged his tail. “This is not the first time Sho has taken things that are not his. But I hope he didn’t yank your hand out!”
“Oh, he didn’t do that,” Toshinori frantically waved away your worries. The awful memory slipped into his mind, and the skeleton man frowned. “It was one of those troublemakers. My hand was stuck on some spider silk.”
“Those little rascals, living up to their name, I see.”
“It seems so.”
“Speaking of names,” you extended your hand for a polite shake. Toshinori blinked as his fingers wrapped perfectly around your warm grip. Your skin was soft and squishy, unlike his bony palm. He never wanted to let go. When you shared your name, Toshinori became excited—it embodied everything about you, especially your lovely face.
Then it was his turn: “I’m Toshinori Yagi!”
He winced at how eager his tone sounded. Now he truly wished for some spider silk to glue his mouth shut. You laughed, but it wasn’t malicious. The stitches near your mouth stretched without breaking apart. Toshinori relaxed while rubbing the back of his neck. After clearing his throat, he said, “Sorry about that.”
“It’s alright,” you grinned, pulling your hand away ever so slowly. Out of all the things Sho stole, this certainly took the cake. Fortunately for you, Toshinori was a sweet gentleman with the purest blue eyes you’ve seen. They were like shiny gemstones whose beauty overshadowed the bright full moon. And they reeled you in almost instantly—
Bark!
The enchanting spell broke. Sho circled around you, nudging his pumpkin nose for good measure. You rolled your eyes and flashed Toshinori an apologetic smile. “I’m sorry, but I have to go. Sho here is a little needy and wants food.”
He bowed his head. “O-oh, of course!”
“Let’s hope Sho doesn’t steal another hand from you.”
Sho could steal his arm, leg, or any other part of his skeleton body. Except for his imaginary heart—that was personally stolen by you today.

gonna keep sharing a few thoughts as i watch the star treks this week. i pinned the post where i was asking for crowdsourced episode suggestions if you want to add some! i couldn’t limit myself to a clever one-liner for each episode and busted out the bullet points, so i’m putting it behind a readmore.
(episodes are all tng for this round: “schisms” / “masks” / “manhunt” / “the emissary” / “peak performance”)
“schisms”:
i LOVE when tng goes horror. that scene in the holodeck where they slowly reveal the alien operating table... 👩‍🍳💋. i need to do a Spooky Trek marathon soon.
add this one to the unofficial “counselor troi is really necessary and good at her job actually” theme for the week -- remember that post about how starships need a Weird Shit officer for people to report weird shit to? that’s deanna! worf had a strange reaction to a pair of scissors in the barber shop and must have immediately gone to tell her, as did riker and geordi and that civilian lady, because that’s what you’re supposed to do when Weird Shit happens in deep space, and that’s how you find out that aliens from another dimension are borrowing your crew.
i’m obsessed with the ship’s counselor role and will go fully feral on anyone who dismisses it.
“masks” for @mrv3000:
look, this episode gets a bad rap, but it’s hard for an episode to be too bad when you’ve got patrick stewart and brent spiner trying their best, you know?
the premise that super sophisticated aliens sent out a super sophisticated probe that survived 87 million years in deep space for the purpose of a brief mythology larp is weird, but it makes me think that either the interaction with data (an unexpected sentient piece of technology not meant to interface with the probe) caused a glitch OR the 87 million years in deep space meant that the probe probably wasn’t supposed to do this exact thing. it’s like if someone in 87 million years encountered a derelict starship voyager, and whatever sensor beam they sent at it activated the tiny portion of the computer dedicated to Fair Haven and they were like “ah, these people for Spiritual Reasons recreate a ritual where they get drunk and throw ceremonial ring-like objects, how strange for a technologically advanced society to do that.”
actually, an alien holoprogram is the only thing that makes sense by Star Trek Rules™️, because the rules of holoprograms is that you can get stuck in the program, but the program ends and everything re-sets to normal once you play to the end of the story.
can we talk about that opening scene with beverly and deanna where there’s a random sculpture in deanna’s quarters and beverly is like “oooh maybe will left it for you as a little present.” i’m gonna leave aside the fact that they decide it’s probably a secret admirer randomly breaking into a senior officer’s quarters with anonymous gifts, and that’s not a cause for immediate investigation, and just focus on how i adore will and deanna’s are-they-or-aren’t-they relationship and beverly being like SOOOOOO is he leaving you booty call tokens? (and this is like an episode before the deanna/worf story starts heating up)
“manhunt” for @coraclavia:
this is an amazing episode of star trek because absolutely nothing happens. the a plot of the episode is “lwaxana troi is horny for alien reasons and goes around sexually harassing every man she sees.” the b plot is “everyone stares at funny looking aliens in stasis.” the c plot of “assassins attempt to bomb diplomatic conference” takes up 45 seconds of airtime in the last scene of the episode.
i live for pulaski and deanna’s hallway interaction where they decide that actually they ARE going to leave captain picard in lwaxana’s clutches for the evening because it’s probably hilarious
i haven’t read imzadi fanfic in years but someone who does please point me to whatever’s the best of the “deanna absolutely breaks riker with sex when she hits midlife” genre
honestly if i were a famous rock musician i also would want to appear on star trek, absolutely unidentifiable beneath sixteen pounds of latex and a voice modulator
“the emissary”:
K’EHLEYR MY BELOVED
i absolutely, absolutely love every interaction she and deanna have in this episode and i want them to become [girl]friends immediately
the conversation about culture is so rich and i want so much more of it, especially between worf and k’ehleyr -- worf fully klingon but raised by humans, overcompensating by being (as jadzia will later point out) so adherent to klingon honor roles that he can’t loosen up and have fun, but also remaining separate from his home culture; k’ehleyr both as human and klingon, raised by both parents, disdainful of the klingon honor code but also making it her life’s work to be a bridge between the two cultures. IT’S SO FASCINATING!
it also makes me think long and hard about b’elanna, and how both k’ehleyr and b’elanna see their klingon tempers as a dangerous burden they have to control, but k’ehleyr seems so much more comfortable with herself in general. in watching it this time, it occurs to me how much of that is likely due to the homes they grew up in -- b’elanna came from a broken home and is estranged from both parents, with the perception that her father left because she was “too klingon” and that her mother was disappointed in her for not being klingon enough; k’ehleyr seems to come from parents who put work into their relationship and dealt with cross-cultural challenges together (“klingon and human dna is compatible, with a little help -- rather like my parents”).
i spent LONG HOURS as a kid trying to work out the biology of how klingons can get pregnant through their hands.
“peak performance”:
season two gets a lot of shit -- the episodes aren’t as tightly written as later ones because of the writer’s strike, but that means there’s lots of filler content which is awesome. the cold open poker game in “the emissary” feels like it leads into the whole strategema side-plot in this episode.
i love pulaski and data’s relationship in the back half of season two, with the same part of my heart that loves spock and bones’s relationship. is it unhealthy and problematic? yeah. is it also somehow heartwarming and my favorite part of season two? yep.
i love riker so much. his combination of confident swagger and “who WOULDN’T take the opportunity to be guaranteed pasted by the best” is perfect.
quark!! hilarious to me that the ferengi are still a Real Threat™️. i think they should’ve brought that back actually in the dominion war like oh you guys just FORGOT the ferengi have a fleet of ships that almost destroyed the federation flagship a couple of times? we’ll fight the changelings with you but we’re charging you market rate plus hazard pay for each torpedo used.
