Ai Fiction March 1

A new month and the traction of Ai has accelerated. Or is it just more visible? Side note- the bot who keeps wanting to put simpler words must be a 5th reader. LOL... stupid bot.

I use ProWritingAid. It serves me well. And, it has only been in the last year that FB bot has been on me to use different words.

While I use a bot to help me with my fiction. It is for grammar edits. Since my style has been to put it on paper. Then edit and edit and edit. While using PWA for errors and grammar, I find better ways to phrase some sentences. Very helpful.

On the other hand- Ai Art has been fantastic. I bought stock photos in the past. Now, I can create a better cover. The latest example is a 1937 Cord. Beautiful car with Mage Stable Fusion. The average stock photo cost me #2 average. Mage cost $4 a month for the cheapest paid level. That makes a cover photo pennies at the pump.

I started with Bryce and loved it. That was landscape, scenes etc. Tat tells you long ago I started. Also mixed with that was Photoshop. Expensive? Yes. I've never found a program that works for me.

I found @funky-sea-cryptid ‘s Black Clover Saintverse au of Black Clover and I am in love. I binged 20 chapters of their fic “The Blood of Both is my Limbo” and its just so good.

So my good friend @ultimate-dumb-ass has this theory that the longer somebody stays in Night Vale, the more non-human looking they’re likely to become.

And to add onto that theory, I like to think that the reason nobody realises that Cecil and Kevin are doubles — (because like, we all agree that they are, right?) — is because they both look so different to their “default” appearance. Cecil lives in Night Vale, and Kevin was physically changed when Strex took over the radio station (as mentioned in Triptych).

Cecil doesn’t look in mirrors and canonically doesn’t even know what he looks like, and Kevin obviously isn’t mentally all there due to Strex’s brainwashing. He doesn’t seem to remember his old self properly — he literally refers to his past hatred for a corrupt organisation in the most offhand manner ever (as shown in the screenshot below).

So who’s to say he remembers his physical appearance in detail too? The changes Strex made are what seem to be the clearest in his mind, after all. Neither of them are likely to recognise the few, probably almost unnoticeable features they share as their own.

side note - jesus, the tags were supposed to just be a side headcanon but it turned into something with the potential to be a post of its own 😭

I think I answered this a while back (I just checked my archive trying to find the ask but can't so maybe not?)

But either way! So, yeah!

So for baseline characters (non-fusions) I try to stick to canon gem choices as much as possible. This is a self-imposed restriction I give to myself because to me, it makes the characters feel more "canon" to what the show is. I have more references to base designs off of, rather than trying to completely conceptualize new gem types (there's a few exceptions to that, Nepeta is a Cat's Eye which doesn't exist and BigB is a Blue Quartz, which also isn't a variant ever seen in the show).

As far as fusions, I tend to just look up gemstones that have the colors of both (or more) components and try to go from there. Ametrine is purple and yellow and while Scar is more pink than purple, it felt fitting for a Willy Wonka-inspired character to be an Ametrine so I could lean more into purples and dark magentas with Ametrine's color palette. Other times, it's more based on the vibes that a fusion will give off. Impulse and Bdubs are a Sunstone because I feel like that's a perfect fit of their personality, even if the design leans much more into Impulse's color palette than Bdubs'.

For fusions of 3+ gems, I try to focus on bigger concepts as that's usually what those fusions are. It's less about how the individual components mash together, and more what their collective motivation/purpose/personality is. For Rainbow Obsidian, I wanted to do something similar to Obsidian from the show but make it clearly Dogswoods-inspired, so it's a giant wolf/puppy. Boatem (Celestine) is also another more "concept"-based megafusion that takes inspiration from the Boatem builds (specifically Mumbo's temple).

I think one of the best things you can do with fusion design is focus on the core vibe of the new character your creating. Yes, fusion is technically two gems mashed together, but they're also their own person. I think when you start to give yourself the space to be more flexible with the design, you will end up making better gem fusions.

I've been thinking about Colin's lore quite a bit and I think I've decided on a different 'kidnap Mc' scenario LOL;

Instead of the 'kidnapping at cafe' thing Im gonna go with a scenario where Mc buys a charm from Colin's online shop and he recognizes that Mc's address is a block away from his apartment 🧍 he sends them a message like "omg tehee you live rlly close to me!!!
