I think about territorial merman aleksander so much. just imagine you’re mal and alina and the first time you ever meet a merperson is when one tries to sink your boat and viciously drown you. and then two days later you find him stuck in a net on the beach and you help him anyways and then he almost bites your hand off and shreds the skin of your arm with his sharp fucking teeth and hisses what is probably the most vile curse he can think of at you before flaunting off like a vain douchebag.

and then like a week later you’re fleeing on your boat because you just deserted and all you do is turn around for one second and when you’ve turned back it’s screams and carnage and blood everywhere and you see this merman literally pull a massive ship into the sea like it’s child’s play. they both hold each other in the highest respect. william sees dakota as the prime (ha) example of what a hero should be. hes brave hes kind he does his best to protect everyone no matter what. hes all the things that william Isnt. BUT !!!! dakota also looks up to him !!! hes so smart hes good at problem solving hes so curious about everything and asking questions and poking his nose into things that nobody else would even consider. dakota knows hes not smart so he automatically looks to william whenever he needs a plan or someone to tell him what to do when he feels lost. they complement each other and they dont even !!!!! know it !!!!!!!

also regarding williams powers. fuck dude. season 1 he was so fucking scared of himself and ashamed of the things he could do . he hid every time he had to use wisp form !!! but dakota always thought it was so cool and was not QUIET about it. boy went fucking STAR EYES the first time he saw wisp form !!!!!! i will never stop thinking abt the first rolled for season 2 where charlie goes "if dakota hadnt left, he probably wouldve been able to convince william to keep using his powers and not to completely disregard their existence like he has been" and . considering what william is like in season 2... god this wouldve been a COMPLETELY different fucking campaign. theyre so. incredibly soulmates to me. theyre so important to each other theyd do anything for each other. i cant say too much more without accidentally giving you spoilers bc i WILL keep talking and not be able to shut up but GOD fuck ghostkicks enjoyers eat so well in the latter half of s2. moirails. 2 me !!!!!!!

Ooooh, did not see that one coming!

Biggest hurdle for them is that Yulan is not the WoL so they didn't really meet during MSQ events. But Yulan is a goldsmith with an intense fascination towards mammets, and Claudien is a scholar, so they could theoretically meet due to their jobs. Either with Yulan being contracted to work on mammets in Labyrinthos, or with Yulan being asked about the crystal from pandae questline 🤔

Other than that, I don't really see too many problems for them~ Claudien is a good looking lad, and Yulan would be attracted to both his forward way of speaking his thoughts out loud and his dedication to his work. I can imagine Claudien blurting out his budding crush on Yulan, and the viera lad just going beet red and running off all angry looking, haha. I feel like he'd be forward enough to work it through Yulan's little bursts, and manage to calm the skittish goldsmith down enough to get him to open up about his own feelings.

Or, failing that, they'd be good buddies I think. Just like, chatting about their work, cool rocks found in Aitiascape or something.
