Unbelievable to me that you’re interested in Basti Bootz whump, since I feel like there’s like 10 people I’ve seen on tumblr that rb content with this guy.

So, I don’t know where you’re from, but he’s from a German TV show thing, so if you can’t speak German/aren’t German then it might be hard to navigate the sources. But maybe you’re German and you’re all set. You can look for Eps and scenes on the ARD Mediathek (VPN is your friend I guess if you’re not located in Germany), and there might be some clips on Youtube. You can also DM me off anon, I’m friendly :) You might already know all that, in that case I’m sorry.

So here is a list of Sebastian Bootz whump from “Tatort Stuttgart”.

(A bit spoiler-y but I’ll try to be vague while still tease a bit hjhjhj)

Ep 2, “In eigener Sache”, some angsty/exhausted moments at 00:23:00, 00:44:40, and he’s also getting pistol whipped and taken hostage (+ being held at gunpoint) 1:20:10 onwards.

Ep. 4, “Das Mädchen Galina”, Basti gets shot and falls unconscious during the first 8 minutes of the episode. For the rest of the ep (at least most of the time) he can’t move his arm properly, needs help with some stuff and is grumpy/shaken up (and refuses to take time off, naturally).

Ep. 10, “Scherbenhaufen”, Basti shielding another person with his body at ca. 00:50:00. He’s also being hunted and shot at from 01:20:00 onwards (+ gets a bloody nose and hurts his shoulder during this - the dressing of which is visible later). Bonus points: His partner is really worried for him the entire time :))

Ep. 12, “Spiel auf Zeit”, Uhm, there’s...relationship troubles and Basti is really hurt and Shooketh at 00:08:40 onwards if that’s your thing (love the subtle angst there). For the rest of the episode Basti is really tense and emotionally all over the place. There’s outbursts of missplaced anger and stuff, and he’s Real Emotional a few minutes later (for example ca 00:22:00, he’s Not Okay there). Even a bit later there’s a tiny heart to heart with his partner.

Ep. 14, “Freigang”, Basti is Going Through It at 00:03:50 onwards for a few minutes, like, emotionally (reasons: heartbreak and unhealthy coping mechanisms).

Ep 15., “Eine Frage des Gewissens”, basically Basti has a nightmare / scary memory there in the beginning (and at ca 00:13:49). The whole ep is angsty imo. Basti and his partner are being interrogated on an unclear law enforcement situation and Basti isn’t sure what’s his pov on said situation after a while, and is tense for several reasons during the ep.

Also, Sebastian is using Unhealthy Coping MechanismsTM involving alcohol at 00:14:45, 00:47:40, 00:48:28, resulting in a lovely scene at 00:50:35. He’s emotional and teary eyed at 00:55:45.

Ep. 17, “Preis des Lebens”, phew! So, this episode marks a turning point for Basti (and the partner duo specifically). I’d recommend the whole episode but starting at ca. 00:43:20 there’s major angst and Sebastian is freaking out over the course of the episode (someone close to him gets kidnapped). He’s scared, angry, emotional, crying, his mood is explosive. Angsty wise I love that ep.

(to really drive the effect the episode has on the relationships in that team home, I’d recommend watching earlier episodes first though, If you’re also interested in the team dynamics and characterisations and stuff)

Ep. 21, “Der rote Schatten”, ca. 00:54:15 while being involved in a chaotic shootout he is hit in the arm and he’s got a (at times a bit bloody) dressing on his arm for while after that incident.

Ep. 24, “Hüter der Schwelle”, 00:42:15 onwards, Basti and another guy beat each other up :))) The scenes following that InterestingTM wrestling match are worth the watch too imo. He’s being patched up at ca 00:50:55

Honorable mentions (not that whumpy but still noteworthy imo):

Ep. 1 “Hart an der Grenze”, ca. Min 50, Basti has to meet a creepy criminal that he put away a few years ago and seems withdrawn right before they meet him and obviously is not happy with them having to meet the other guy. - a tiny bit angsty.

Ep. 3 “Tödliche Tarnung”, ca. 01:05:00 onwards, a very emotional and slightly teary eyed moment. (TW for flashbacks to a car accident involving a child right before that scene)

Ep. 9 “Das erste Opfer”, stressed father vibes from Basti throughout the ep.

Ep. 13, “Happy Birthday, Sarah”, again stressed father vibes from Basti throughout the ep.

Ep 15., “Eine Frage des Gewissens”, failed heart to heart at ca. 00:16:35 and some sort of successfull heart to heart that feels catharsis-y and angsty at 00:50:35.

Ep. 24, “Hüter der Schwelle”, watch out for some coughing at ca. 00:21:45 and a few moments later (bonus: tiny bit of reckless driving)

Ep. 25, “Du allein”, imo the scene at ca. 00:28:00 where Sebastian is very agitated, tense and angry is him displaying signs of (mild?) PTSD or something, because the stuff that’s happening might remind him of what happened in Ep. 17, but I haven’t seen others talking about this, it’s just my personal read on things and how I interpret it. There’s also a tiny reference to his (past?) alcohol consumption as coping mechanism so...

Ep. 29, “Der Mörder in mir”, noteworthy scene ca. 00:32:20, heart to heart -ish moment with his partner.

Mouse (2021) Ep. 20 Recap

Ba-Reum decides to turn himself in and complete a final mission that only he can do. Hong-Joo reveals her long-held secret on her last show with Hee-Jin, a woman who was actually a secret agent working for Choi Young-Shin in a large private organization.

If you want to watch the series for yourself, stop reading! This post contains spoilers to the storyline.

Episode 20 is the longest chapter of the series, lasting 1 hour and 40 minutes. It is essentially a film, but it appears that we are on track to receive some substantial answers.

Ba-Reum confronts Choi Young-Shin in her apartment. She mentions the rejected abortion bill, which started her crusade. She convinced Daniel Lee to use the fetuses as evidence to prove the psychopath gene. The Soo-Ho situation was a mistake that completely destroyed the man. He never intended to go that far and was wracked with guilt over what happened. Ba-Reum's actions caught her off-guard. However, she continued to monitor him through the OZ organization. She realized that it would be easier to pass the bill if he accumulated more deaths. Choir admits that she is a scientist with the ultimate goal of creating a utopian world free of psychopaths, which she refers to as the "Land of OZ". Ba-Reum having heard enough, holds a gun to her head. She demands that he fire, stating that those with the psychopath gene deserve to be killed.

Meanwhile, Moo-Chi arrives at the house and finds Choi tied up and alive in the closet. Ba-Reum decides against killing her and leaves. The police will arrive and take her away with this information. Moo-Chi listens to his voicemail and hears Bong-Yi heading off on the hunt while Ba-Reum is still on the run.

Ms. Kim took Bong-Yi to keep her safe in case OZ kidnapped her. Ba-Reum shows up in the rain, and they come face to face. Bong-Yi swings a knife frantically, trying to kill the murderer. Ba-Reum sidesteps her and drops to his knees, pleading with her to allow him to hand himself in and justice to be served. Bong-Yi almost pierces Ba-Reum's face, but she remembers that he killed Deok-Soo for her and stops. She drops the pole and walks away, leaving Ba-Reum to live his life in regret. Eventually, Ba-Reum turns himself in to the police.

The crowd is enraged and bloodthirsty as they watch him head into the station, crying out in agony. Hong-Joo worked with Daniel Lee after finding him in Yo-Han's basement. Daniel Lee is brought in for questioning, but he remains silent at first. He convinces Yo-Han's mother to visit Ba-Reum, who happens to be her biological son. She confesses that they switched babies. She reveals this to Ba-Reum. Sung Ji-Eun was convinced that her son was responsible for what Soo-Ho did to Jae-Hoon's family, which prompted her to search for him. His "aunt" found him first and changed his ID and name. She searched everywhere for Ba-Reum but failed. The serial killings badly affected her, and she instinctively knew he was responsible.

After the surgery, she realized he was different and couldn't bring herself to kill him. She is clearly grieving, and Seo-Joon's mocking comments about having a child only make it worse. He calls the child a mini "Head Hunter".

Moo-Chi returns to the prison and confronts the Head Hunter, discovering the truth about Ba-Reum's lineage. He calls the man dumb and mentions Choi Young-Shin, wiping the smile off the Head Hunter's face as he curses the scientist. In subsequent flashbacks, we learn that Yo-Han conducted a DNA test and discovered his true identity. He did not kill Ji-Eun but did knock her out long enough to escape and find Ba-Reum. In the present, Ji-Eun refers to Yo-Han as her son while looking out at the sea.

The situation becomes desperate when Ba-Reum's aunt goes missing, as she has crucial evidence linked to what happened with Ba-Reum. He implores Goo-Reum to do his best to find her.

Detective Lee Min-So is also missing. The group has a difficult 48-hour window before Choi is free to go, now that she has been arrested. The window has been moved up to the present moment. Choi's arrest warrant was rejected, and she is now free to go. Hong-Joo quickly exposes Choi Young-Shin an the OZ organization with damning evidence during her show. Daniel Lee testifies, an Ms. Kim also appears. Lee Min-So managed to keep her safe from Choi's goons. Ba-Reum confesses, and Sherlock Hong-Joo blows the case wide open with photos of victims and audio evidence of Choi incriminating herself and claiming the number of victims isn't enough. This is sufficient for her to be arrested and face her crimes.

Yo-Han, on the other hand, is completely cleared of any charges due to several confession from the victims and a video of him sobbing. Since psychopaths do not display this type of emotion in private, it is enough for him to be let off the hook. Hong-Joo confesses to working with Daniel Lee to have Ba-Reum kill Deok-Soo and admits to killing someone 26 years ago when she was a child and led Soo-Jung out to a car. Duk-Seok arrests Hong-Joo symbolically, and she apologizes for her involvement before being taken away in handcuffs. OZ organization will be thoroughly investigated and taken down for prioritizing personal greed over the well-being of the people. Ba-Reum's court case has resulted in a unanimous decision for him to spend the rest of his life in isolation, with execution scheduled for an unspecified time in the future.

Six months later, Ba-Reum is led out through the yard, and the Head Hunter notices a change in his eyes. Ba-Reum appears cold and heartless, showing no remorse for his actions. He comes face to face with his father, who claims they have superior genes and tells Ba-Reum to maintain the look in his eye. As his father steps forward for a hug, Ba-Reum repeatedly stabs him with a knife, letting the man bleed out on the floor. Moo-Chi had planned all along to enter and eliminate the Head Hunter. He convinced Dong-Goo to allow him entry. Symbolically, he cuts off the Head Hunter's head, which is what he had threatened to do earlier. Moo-Chi hears the news that Ba-Reum is in critical condition and could die soon. Du-Seok convinces him to visit Ba-Reum before he dies.

Ba-Reum apologizes and shows emotion in his eyes. Moo-Chi criticizes the boy, expressing his unforgiving attitude towards him. Moo-Chi advises him to assist the victims' families and Ba-Reum tearfully admits missing Bong-Yi. The girl, burning with anger, demands that he suffer the worst fate imaginable. Ba-Reum tells Bong-Yi that he hopes to be born as an ordinary human being in his next life.

Interestingly, he finds himself back in a church, a throwback to his moments as Jae-Hoon when he prayed that he was not a monster. Symbolically, he sits with his younger self and tells him that he is no longer a monster. This eventually serves as the end of Ba-Reum, who dies in extreme pain and misery for his sins.

Three years later, despite protests from the people, Choi is granted a pardon from prison. The Blue House apparently did this as a way of granting a union in the future. However, when she arrives at the parking garage, the driver stops the car and brandishes a knife. Meanwhile, Hong-Joo and Moo-Chi sit together and apologize to one another. Moo-Chi eventually returns to the prison to say his final goodbyes, visiting Ba-Reum's gravestone.

12 Anti LO Asks

1. i feel like in the beginning at least the painterly look actually looked nice and could distract from the less than stellar writing, but now it looks so rushed and makes it look sloppy. i know photoshop specifically doesnt have good paint mixing tools, but it just looks so ugly now.

2. listen im not going to nitpick that sometimes the eyes in lo arent consistent levels unless its particularly egregious (and trust me there are some really bad examples) but i do think it speaks to how bad the art style actually is when its praised for being so "beautiful". like if it marketed itself as unique, then that's more excusable, but its marketed as some groundbreaking piece of art, which falls flat when we see facial features cant stay consistent and it looks rushed and flat.

From OP: To clarify, the assistant would have to do 20 panels for a week (from what was stated). However, it definitely has to be done before a week since it has to be ready by Sunday. With the pay of $450 USD total, that’s $22.50 per panel. I think the assistant would spend 30 - 45 min per panel if RS is hiring someone who can do it fast.

I’m iffy on the payment but I still need to clarify because I feel some of these asks have some misleading information or misinterpreted the post in this next section.

3. yall why is rachel AGAIN asking fo helpers? doesnt she have 5+ team already? the lack of same figures only adds to the degraded quality of art. also doing 20+ panels with inking, coloring, & lettering? other webtoon artists and the WT itself have gone on record its required for a featured comic's panel count to be 40 panels ... so rachel is basically only paying $450 for someone to do over half of the work she's supposed to do for while she gets all the fast pass, merch, and ad revenue. cool...

4. ok but no that ad rachel put out legit makes me mad esp considering how low the pay actually is. shes asking whoever applies to do the inking AND all the coloring while she what, only slaps on random shadows and puts in her misspelled dialogue? especially when its 20+ panels? the person would have to do 95% of the actual work for a solid chunk of the ep,and that doesnt include the other people on team who also do 95+ of the work. the whole situation makes her really look unpleasant and greedy.

5. me with my tea, watching people drag rachel for her trying to pay barely anything for assistants to do most of her work and only really paying in "expose": oh no, anyway -

6. rachel purposely turning off replies and comments to her posts asking for help which has shit pay on it ... she is aware its a bad look and still is trying to silence people on calling her out on it. this is not a good look, smythe.

7. i guess that anon who admitted the art team of LO work in batches while only working off sketches is right, and for a shockingly low pay too. if thats how the team is paid too then her team isnt even making minimum wage despite doing most of the work. i wanted to give the benefit of a doubt towards rachel but this honestly looks so scummy, especially when we know she's making a lot of money off fast passes, merch, and book deals. it's honestly gross to see her true colors come out like this.

8. people did the math on rachel's pricing for working for her and its at best like ... $5 an hour. and w/ the locked comments too? thats her being aware she KNOWS shes taking advantage of new and young artists because they worship her while she scams them fo work for barely nothing in compensation. youd think someone who lucked out this ,uch on her first try with her bad writing & art would know to pay at least minimum wage, but nah. this is so telling to her actual character its not nice. :/

9. rachel makes so much money off LO its honestly disgusting shes taking advantage of her fans to literally do the work for her while not even paying the lowest end of minimum wage. im seeing a fair few ppl calling her out over this so hopefully no one gets scammed and shes forced to actually pay them if someone reaches out, but considering shes ignoring it to instead retweet fan art is very telling.

10. TBH the funniest (worst?) part about Rachel's pricing is you know she'd be pissed if someone offered that little for her to do so much work, yet she's perfectly happy to ask her fans to do so for her while she gets the credit for it? Maybe that anon was right, the greedy capitalist, woe-is-me Hades IS her self insert. Who knew!

11. my little brother works at mcdonalds and gets paid $600+ a week meanwhile rachel cant even pay her workers even that for doing the bulk of the literal work for her? also flats and inks take different skills yet she expects them to do two jobs for one with such little pay on top of it??? shes wildin for this im sorry to say 💀 unionize webtoons now 💀

12. One thing i don't get about the fast past episode is... doesn't Hades actually LIKES kids? Like, we have seen him happy hugging Hebe, he has no problem with holding Triton while Poseidon drinks something and he was pretty sweet to that little kid nymph that give him a cow. Why would he be okay with macking a child work? Does shades of dead children ALSO become slaves?

Also, this "backstory" with Thanatos comes out of nowhere? There was literally nothing that suggested Thanatos saw Hades as a paternal figure or that he respected him or had some sort of special affection for him? Even when he practically raised him, Hades didn't got atached to him even a little bit? He seems annoyed at Thanatos most of the time and doesn't look like he actually likes him... Was Thanatos literally hooking up with his "adoptive" father's girlfriend??? And let me tell you, NYX WOULD NEVER DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS TO ONE OF HER CHILDREN.

Come on, this is the goddess that was so angry that Zeus was being mean to one of her precious children that she SCARED THE TARTARUS OUT OF ZUES! Nyx would never abandon a kid Thanatos at Hades house,said "here, he is here to serve you" and then leave like she has better things to do. Is RS planing to also do a "golden child and scapegoat" thing like she did with Artemis and Apollo but with Thanatos and Hypnos? (Than's twin brother) becuase i can't think in another reasson why she would make Nyx do something like abandoning her son....

-S5 E15 around 19 min 30 sec Nick coughs loudly but only lasts like 2 sec

-S5E20 around 2 min 30 Schmidt makes a noise at the back of his throat and Nick says to him if you’re gonna b* just do it, but nothing happens – THEN around 6 min 10 sec Jess starts choking but it’s not very triggering – over by 6 min 20 sec and then later in the ep Schmidt’s dad mentions that he tu* once but you don’t see anything

-S5E21 around 13 mins Schmidt walks through the loft saying I’m gonna tu* and it cuts to him dr* h*ving and Nick says are you gonna b* but nothing actually happens – later in the episode Ally mentions having food poisoning and then around 18 min 20 sec we hear her r*

Honestly, I *DO* like episodes 7, 8, and 9. BUT I would have LOVED if they did everything they did AS PLANNED, and then added the alternatives film (the versions we got) as a bonus. Honestly I hate ROS because Rey is related to HIM. Lbh, NOBODY would have sex with p*alpatine

the problem with episodes 7-9 is that each is a standalone film. that is not a problem in itself since every other star wars trilogy movies could technically be watched as a standalone and with a little context you’d be fine, since they tell an overarching story with three more or less independent characters. episodes 7-9 do not tell an overarching story, they are each chapters to a different telling of rey’s story. ep 7 tells the story of rey nobody, who is both the narrative foil and the in-world counterpart of one of the strongest force users alive, and that’s honestly already a really good premise, buuuuut if we’re going to have a trilogy then that main conflict should be resolved either in the second movie or at the very least in the first half or so of the third because things! need! to! happen! for! a reason! except that they don’t because at the climax of the second film kylo tells rey she’s a nobody, and apparently that changes nothing within her resolve which..... fine, let’s push it and say she’s going to deal with that in the third movie, whatever, but we get to it and actually she’s palpatine’s granddaughter so actually she’s all the jedi which. UGH. the point I’m trying to make is that she is a completely linear character being thrown in three different takes of her story, and I hate to say this because I LOVE her, but after the second movie I totally got it when people said she was a mary sue because her faith in the force and the jedi and her kindness and blahblah NEVER really waivers (except when she gets angry at luke which. saves everyone! how fuckin convenient!) and you could come out and say “lori, if we think like that luke skywalker is also a mary sue”, which, again, don’t get me wrong because he is literally my son but he IS. and in the 80’s that is FINE cause it’s the story we needed - a story about this starry (heh) eyed guy whose unwaivering faith in people and The Magic Around Him™️ may seem a little misguided at first but ends up saving everyone, but that was 40 years ago. and maybe it was silly of me to expect a nuanced take on The Human Specificity Of Empathy from a star wars movie but you know what, I don’t think it was since gareth edwards paved the way with rogue one that is the epitome of analysis of what it really means to be good or bad and I’m not going to rant about how rogue one is the best star wars movie today BUT it set the tone for a less us-vs-them view of the world which was VERY exciting and in line with what I think the 2010-20’s really wants from its heroes in general. so if we want to follow the narrative beats of the first trilogy or at least the first movie (no way of knowing where jj abrams would’ve gone in ep 8) I think that’s fine so as long as you make it your own, and imo jj abrams was, and then rian johnson was like nope lol, and jj abrams tried to fix the narrative 180 rian johnson tried to do, and like. episode 8 is a very fun movie to watch as a star wars fan but narratively it does not make any fuckin sense. I thought so then and now with ep 9 out I think so even more. rian johnson is a very creative guy, he had some REALLY interesting ideas, but WHY give him the creative liberty to do so in the MIDDLEEEEE of the trilogy??? WHY!?!?!? give him a star wars story film! he would KILL it! or you know wait a couple years so the director of the first movie who actually knows what the fuck he’s doing can direct the second, but noooooo the damned fucking mouse wants to wipe his ass with $100 bills so we cannot possibly wait. cohesive storytelling? we don’t give a shit about that in the house of le mouse.

that all to say, there is nothing Fundamentally wrong narratively with either of the three movies. they’re fun to watch. even ep 8, possibly my least fav of the bunch, was a fun experience in cinemas. it’s star wars and disney - they know how to make a blockbuster. the thing is that as a trilogy they simply do not make any sense. if you analyze each movie individually all three seem to have different core themes: ep 7’s is “nobodies are people too actually”, 8 is “maybe space fascists aren’t so bad, actually (also luke is here hey luke)”, and 9 is “I take that back, nobodies aren’t a people actually”. it’s satisfying to watch as a casual spectator who goes to the movies, seems some space gays with one braincell between the three of them and is like coolio and then goes home, but it’s not satisfying to watch as someone even the littlest bit invested in the story because there is no cohesive roundup of everything. the original trilogy was like is luke an idiot for being nice? is vader actually redeemable? is han deserving of trust despite being a space nerf herder? and sometimes u were like what’s happenin!!!! but in the end all your questions are answered quite satisfactorily. luke was right, han is sexy, vader was redeemable. in the prequels: how does anakin skywalker become darth vader? how do he and obi juan become the enemies we see in the death star? what happens to padme? and while the sequels are a beautiful mess that I love they do answer the questions they put out when episode 1 begins, so you know, imagine liking the sequels and hating the prequels when the PREQUELS make more sense, the PREQUELSSSS. anywhomst, point is: the sequels are like here is finn. finn is the first stormtrooper we see the face of! he defects! also the first stormtrooper we se defect. the other defector we know is bodhi from r1, who is very sympathetic despite being imperial, and clearly we’re supposed to feel empathy for finn. finn survives! finn finds rey! go finn I love u! and then. WHAT happens to finn? what furthers his character development into a full fledged person when he starts out with not even a name? where’s his anger? where’s his OBVIOUS narrative direction that should be “ex stormtrooper who shows imperials that fascism is bad actually”? nope, goes almost unmentioned from then on. and again, I love finn, he is literally baby, but he also froze after ep 7 because rian johnson decided to fuck shit up and also because disney is racist. poe? the do-good soldier who is supposed to be the Believer™️? actually he is the only one who was any semblance of a coherent role in ep 8... which is promptly retconned when jj abrams makes him a fucking spice runner in ep 9 lol. who is rey? and they’re like she’s a nobody and that’s why she’s spesh, wait no she is a nobody but she’s spesh because space fascist has the hots for her, oh, no, wait, she’s spesh because PALPATINE. what was the theme of this trilogy? what was the thesis? what questions did they set out to answer and did they answer them at all, never mind well? and it’s unclear, obviously, because three movies with three clearly different views behind them won’t magically make narrative sense just because you are trying to piece them together. they’re not pieces at all, they are three independent takes on the stars and the wars. enjoyable as little snacky treats, not as a three meal course. (also I’m not even going to TOUCH on how what was already a narrative mess was made worse by disney’s NONSTOP fanservice. sw sequels and game of thrones last season are the cautionary tales of why fanservice sucks and while a good, intelligent if cliche or predictable story is always better than a Shocking™️ one that doesn’t make any sense. but if I start on that I will LITERALLY not shut up SO AHEM CONTINUE @LIZZIBENNET)

ALL that to say: I agree w/ u and I LOVE your idea of each movie being an alternative version of the story. honestly, that would make more sense than what we have right now off the bat lol. can you imagine ep 7 being the rose colored version of the story via the heroes’ lenses, and then ep 8 being the “actually space fascism is good if ur kylo ren” version of the story, and then, ep 9 is what actually happened... told by rey nobody, who dances the line between the good and bad until there’s not a line anymore. CHEF’S FUCKIN KISS obviously much more risqué than disney would ever go for, but genius! much better than trying to make us care about these conflicts that they make up in the first 15 mins of each movie. ur mad because episode 7 follows the beats of 4? here’s three movies on why you were wrong when you judged it all true and therefore Bad. HUHU I love that

5:47-7:43 - Preview scene where Byron is trying to fix his Vespa while Mickey sits there smoking, and Ian crutches up to return his plaid shirt that may or may not be from the club kiss scene. Mickey doesn’t wanna talk to him. Byron invites Ian to that Imperial Mammoth show, including a plus one, and Mickey gets immediately up in arms about that. Ian lies very obviously and says he met someone and it’s going well, and Mickey is visibly regretting the little game he set off.

15:26-16:51 - Ian takes Grindr pics in the bathroom mirror, looking like a goober who has never pulled a date in his life. Very off brand, really. Liam clowns him hard for being inept, cuz I guess it’s his role to be the greek chorus that’s smarter than everyone else and gives precocious advice. This version of Ian is so dumb that his 12-y/o (or whatever age Liam’s supposed to be now) brother has to tell him that nabbing a gay guy would be easier with a shirtless pic! WOW! Who knew? Thank you, lil love guru.

20:30-21:23 - Ian scrolls Grindr, sifting through dick pics, asshole pics, and orgy propositions. Finally he gets a ping from Cole. Says he looks normal, so obvs he’s not gonna be “normal.”

31:40-32:26 - Ian’s @ The Alibi waiting for Cole to arrive, and they manage to get in a quick dig about Mickey (from Kev this time), and Kev asks Ian what he knows about rich people conspiracy theories, relating to some scheme him and Vee are getting into (I don’t know what it is, cuz fuck the rest of the show).

33:54-34:37 - Cole arrives at The Alibi like a flamboyant alien of the gods and the music basically stops. His first line delivery is awful, but it gets better after that. This dude just wants to party and have a good time. Living his best shallow life, as you do in your early 20s. Ian is skeptical and the regulars have never seen an episode of Drag Race in their lives, because this gender-bending being is like a foreign concept given the way they gawk. So, by Shameless logic: Hard criminals in prison = Totally down with gay relationships. Alcoholics who live at the dive bar = Never seen a confident guy in a dress.

48:57-50:00 - Mickey is delighted when he sees and hears Cole arriving with Ian. Ian is uncomfortable and confused, because even though he spent months to a year working in a gay club, he’s apparently never interacted with a swishy, superficial, partyboy gay????? But he’s being polite at least. They both watch in amusement as Cole “orders drinks at the bar” by twerking up on it in his lacy ensemble. It’s one of maybe two genuine chuckles I got from all these scenes combined.

53:37-56:07 - Which brings us to the scene we were all waiting for... ready to bring us crashing down to reality for expecting even just a tiny little bit more. Ian is annoyed with Cole, and wanders over near Byron’s table, where of course he overhears him finally admitting his true feelings about Mickey to his friends. In a nutshell, Mickey is the worst. And he has been, to this guy in particular, to be fair. But Ian is not down with the whole talking behind Mickey’s back instead of to his front thing, and he tells him to hold his crutches before punching him. Mickey is next to Cole at the bar now, and Cole is all, “Look at my man. Don’t take no shit. I’m gonna do gymnastics on that dick tonight. I’m gonna Simone Biles that dick, know what I’m sayin’?” And Mickey knocks him out cold. (2nd lulz of the evening there.) Mickey approaches the scene of Ian’s fist “fight” in which Ian has basically just wailed on tiny Barry with no decent return hits, and Ian is already down on his good knee, so he decides this is the right moment to propose again. Says he loves Mickey more than anything and that if he’ll let him, he’d like to spend the rest of his life... and Mickey cuts him off with a sharp, “Save the fuckin’ speech you pussy. Course I’ll marry you.” And they kiss. The camera cuts away. And that’s that. Lol. If you thought you were gonna get any depth added in these last few eps, you were wrong. The next ep will be hilarious hijinks sprinkled with OOC bullshit, and who knows how they’ll manage to fuck up the actual nuptials, but I’m sure it’ll happen. 🍻

56:27-57:52 - IxM arrive back at the Gallagher house looking happy, but they don’t announce their engagement. Instead, Lip announces that he’s moving to Milwaukee with his baby mama and kid.

Brokenhearted by the lack of Haru? These gentlemen have my back.

Currently watching A gentleman’s dignity... for the seventh time I think! LOL

This rant is non-spoilery, in case you haven’t watched the drama or are planning to watch.

You see, after Extraordinary You and the terrible void it left behind, I started to look like crazy (ok, maybe not that much) for the next drama to watch. Found a couple, and was really excited about starting them, but I also couldn’t get Eun Danoh and Haru out of my head, and the thought of not knowing how these dramas were gonna end (just my luck, I chose melos as an EY replacement) gave me a bit of anxiety (A LOT, actually), so I decided to rewatch a drama.

I was actually thinking of rewatching Come and Hug me (great but hearbreaking story, with great acting and breathtaking chemistry between the main couple and a just and in imo wonderful ending) but you know, it’s a melo, with lots of tears. Not exactly what I would recommend to heal after Danharu’s story. Anyway, I was searching through Viki and I had this sudden thought of A Gentleman’s Dignity, which is finally allowed on my country again (Don’t you just hate it when they do that?)

Anyway, I’m now halfway through the drama (ep 10 of 20), just when the leading lady finally realizes she has feelings for the jerk (in my eyes, he really isn’t, just a bit direct and sarcastic) but kinda sweet and very honest leading man. They’re about to get together and because I’ve seen the drama before, I know that the real bomb of the drama is about to drop.

It’s an oldie, but a goodie. I fell in love with this drama in less than two minutes, because that’s how long it took me to laugh with the opening. And I knew I was watching something special. With a simple story and hilarious moments of bromance and just about the most silly but somehow endearing romcom moments. This drama made me a fan of the writer, and subsequentially, I have watched most of her works after (Heirs, Descendants of the Sun, Goblin and I will watch the upcoming one starring Lee Min Ho. btw I have watched Secret Garden, and I loved it).

One thing I do sometimes while watching dramas alone, is to read the reviews on Dramabeans, but LOL the person who made the reviews 7 years ago seemed to have a love/hate relationship with the drama, which takes a bit of the fun out of the whole experience tbh, that’s why I’m sharing my opinion of the show here.

I totally recommend A Gentleman’s Dignity if you want to watch a “more mature” romantic comedy with leads in their 30′s and 40′s and overall more grown up problems. As per drama law, it does indeed have a bit of a melo side towards the ending, but I think that as a binge watch, it really is not that depressing/dragging? (Maybe because I have watched it several times and know the ending that plotline is not boring to me lol).

A very strong point of the drama is the relationship between our main 4 male characters (our F44) who have been best friends since high school. The actors’ chemistry do sell you into the friendship and make you believe that they have been through everything together and care for each other like family. I also love the main romance, it feels very organic to me given the vastly different personalities and beliefs of the leads, but I am aware that some people would find their story a bit far fetched and nonsensical? Because there’s a whole plot of a one sided crush that it could fit more in a high school setting. Hehehe.

Look, I love this show and the most clear definition of loving something (or someone) is if you do it while aware of its flaws and embracing them. So while these Gentlemen and their story migh not be perfect, I find them perfect in their imperfection. And the laughs and crazy antics they present to me are really a blessing after a drama that made me cry and feel emotionally drained.

They’re like a energy drink. LOL

late night thoughts ep 1.

alright so it's currently 1:56 am March 17, 2020. today was interesting to say the least.

due to the self quarantine, all my friends (the 2 i have), family, and novio are not going to physical school. But for me doing online school, i'm not really affected by this. I have been very depressed lately and have been having extremely negative thoughts. But i need to remember that in in a relationship with a boy who actually likes me and have finally made friends that i want to keep in my life forever and kms would not be the right move lol.

i woke up at around 6:40 am and sent my streaks and went straight back to sleep. Then at around 7 am mi novio messaged me “good morning cutie” like he always does but the night before i told him i was going to work on messaging him a lot because i always feel like im bothering him ‘cause i always message him when he’s on xbox with his friends and i don’t want to distract him from doing what makes him happy. so, i decided to not reply to his message.

now it’s around 7:40 amá (what i call my mom) brought me my meds because im a forgetful lil bish, and since my attempt she doesn't let me handle my meds (understandable haha). Then i REALLY woke up around 9:30, which is an hour later than i normally wake up :(

After working for a bit, Amá came home for lunch and i remembered to message mi novio back with “i’m sorry i forgot to respond, i hope you’re having a good day.” which was true cause i had planned on messaging him at 8:30 but im a forgetful human and i suck at that stuff. He always replies “it’s fine” which always feels like a knife in my heart because i'm not sure if he used the word “fine” like i do (a mentally abused sad teenage girl haha) or uses it like a mentally stable human....most likely the second option but you never know! 🤣

then at around 4 pm i was being the rude, needy novia i am and sent him some cute memes but after he didn't respond for 20 min (oml i'm an awful person) i decided to tell him that i was tired and going to take a nap but if he wanted i’d message him once i woke up, to which he responded, “yes please. i’d love to talk to you” which was super cute. But my brother (puppy is his nickname) wanted me to watch Stephen King’s “Children of the Corn” so i message mi novio that i would talk to him when it was over, to which he said “okay”.

so once the movie was done i simply message a “hello”...and waited for his response, and waited, and waited...it was 3 hours until he talked to me again lol. But then he talked to me on and off until he took a shower and told me about how he was stressed out about school, and i did my best in comforting him but all i do is send memes lol. and when he was saying goodnight he had the NERVE to tell me that my response of “no u” is BANNED! But i don’t like to lose arguments so i’m allowed one “no u” a day 😆💞

Mi novio is a normal human who doesn't have any past trauma (that i know of) that impacts his daily like like me and he goes to sleep at a normal time (10:00pm) so i’m always sad because i don’t normally go to sheep until 2 am.

oh i also watched Big Fish, and Angel Beats :)

“Man of the House”

That ep of Jane the virgin, hooooo boy

so let’s get this straight

1) Jane respectfully asked, as a parent, for Jorge to put his dishes away and not watch TV while Mateo was around, because it was directly affecting his behavior and causing his ADHD problems to worsen.

Sidenote: wasn’t he living there for months before this for the fake marriage? Pretty telling that he stops having any regard for his wife’s only grandkid & great-grandkid until the ring is on.

2) He gets really mad, apparantly, and tells his wife. He doesn’t relay the pretty reasonable requests she actually made, just that Jane was disrespectful. He does this instead of confronting Jane, or having a family meeting.

3) Alba gets mad at Jane, doesn’t really give her an opportunity to say what actually happened [Mateo had a meltdown and started misbehaving, because he saw “the man of the house” not following the rules]. She points out that she cooked and cleaned for Jane for years. Which is true, but also isn’t relevant to asking someone to put away their dishes or keeping the TV off around her son. Also Jane was a literal child for most of the years she was living with Alba and it’s never been shown that Jane is taking advantage of her parent’s free labor. So Alba was really responding to Jane being skeptical of the gender roles Alba & Jorge have - which, again, she said nothing about to Jorge.

4) Jane apologizes to Jorge, to keep the peace. He asks for a few small concessions, which are actually pretty reasonable by themselves - keeping things down at night, leaving the close spot for Alba. I don’t see anything wrong with asking a roommate for these concessions at all, but he also didn’t apologize for getting a third party to interfere [for no reason, since he has no problem having a reasonable conversation here, other than his passive-aggressive and patronizing tone], and we also don’t see any sign he’s actually going to make the changes Jane requested, so it doesn’t feel like a fair & respectful conversation.

Another thing here not addressed - Jorge said to Alba that Jane was being disrespectful and insulting to him, that’s never touched on. Asking a roommate to put their dishes away, especially in front of their easily impressionable son,is not insulting or disrespectful, especially when brought up in a 1-1 conversation like that. That’s a pretty basic polite thing to do. How long were those dishes going to sit there? Hours until Alba goes back home? Was Jane supposed to clean up after him for some reason? Him leaving dishes at the table was far more disrespectful and also, that’s how you get ants!

The watching TV thing was a little less of a normal request but... most families, especially ones that can afford a 40 inch HDTV have a second TV in their bedroom, or at least a laptop, or something than can watch TV off of. And this was for her child, who has problems with processing TV and other things and led directly to her son having meltdowns. Regardless, it’s not disrespectful or insulting to ask for that concession, people who live together should be allowed to have a healthy discussion about their wants and needs, bringing it up a healthy thing to do. Turning up the volume repeatedly to drown out your step great-grandkid’s tantrum was disrespectful though. You really care that little about your wife’s only great-grandkid? Just turn off the TV, pause it, or at least mute it. You don’t have to raise Mateo, but it would be nice if you wouldn't actively contribute to making it harder for him.

5) Jane apologizes to Alba for being judgey about the whole division of labor thing. Fair enough, Jane’s a nice person and loves her grandma and likes seeing her happy. During that apology, Alba says the whole completely unequal division of labor thing isn’t actually that unequal because while she does cook, clean, do the grocery shopping daily after her job, Jorge actually helps too! He does this by...

* handling telemarketers. I just hang up, i don’t think this really compares. It’s nice, but like, those should be a 1 min conversation or less “I’m not interested”.

* he makes all their dinner reservations. Again, this should be like a 2 min phone call, unless you get stuck on-hold. Nice of him to do, but i’d rather set up a dinner reservation than clean the bathrooms and do the dishes. I’d do pretty much anything other than do the dishes, but that’s neither here nor there.

* putting her slippers in front of the bed every day. That’s super sweet, but still probably only takes like 1-2 minutes every day. Considering meals tend to take 20+ minutes of work, usually involving standing up and actively monitoring, it’s just not really comparable.

That’s apparently her best examples she has of how their division of labor isn’t an unequal as it seems. 3 things that add up to probably 5 minutes, and two of the things aren’t even daily occurrences. Compared to apparently doing all the grocery shopping (Usually around a 30 min trip to me, at least), making most or all of their meals (20ish min per meal, plus snacks, but let’s call it 45 min/day and assume she has leftovers sometimes), and apparantly all the cleaning (jane has never been shown to shirk her duties, so i’m gonna go with 30 min/day, and assume it’s mostly dishes and laundry).

Which makes Jorge’s contributes like, hmm, 5 min/day, and Alba’s around an hour, rounding down and not even factoring in grocery runs. They both work too, although i don’t know if either of them works more than another.

Alba is definitely correct that if she wants to run her relationship that way, she should be allowed too. For example, some people find cleaning relaxing. It doesn’t make their contributions any less unequal, but it does change the context. She doesn’t say she actually enjoys cleaning or cooking, other than “doing things for the hubby” sort of implied in there, but you know. She could, maybe.

But that’s not really the issue. The issue is still that Jorge thinks asking for reasonable accommodations from people who have lived her longer than him is disrespectful and insulting. That’s a red flag by itself, plus his behavior suddenly turning to a manbaby who can’t do dishes after putting a ring on it is another red flag. The division of labor thing could make sense in a more equal relationship, but on top of these red flags, it points to repeated behavior that actually is taking advantage of Alba, just like Jane was concerned about.

Anyway, this whole thing was probably just a plot to get Jane to move out. But it really made me side-eye that his bad behaviors were ignored in favor of teaching Jane that “sometimes feminism is letting women be taken advantage of, because they want it” or something. They could have made this message less wishy-washy by having Jorge actually not be whiny tattletale and have an honest convo with Jane, and by having Jorge’s contributions be bigger & comparable.
