Danny tilts his head. The masked figure across the roof tilts their head back, a gold similar to Tucker’s eyes shimmering, though he knew it wasn’t him. He lets out a curious chirp, inaudible to the living, and the masked figure stills, as silent as a corpse for several moments before letting out two clicks. 

A greeting in turn. 

Danny smiles, letting green bleed into his eyes and scurrying over with a croon from his core. I’m here, I’m here, their own core clatters like metal against bone as his responds with the drone of a blackhole. I see you, I see you. I’m HereHereHere. 

Yet another twitters in turn, clicking echoing across the city from shadow to shadow until it’s as though the city itself has a heartbeat. Click-click. Click-click. Click-click. I’m here, I’m here, not alone, I’m Here.

May I also offer another more heartbreaking possibility to a potential Jason return? Dick hears Red Hood make the chirps or hoots (maybe when he’s annoyed either at seeing Talon early or at something else and doesn’t know Dick is there) and instead of thinking “my owlet!” He thinks “A member of the Court of Owls survived.”

So that’s the first bad thing. Now, imagine how much worse it would be if this Court survivor was targeting his only chick left? If Dick saw what happened at the Tower and thought that this survivor wanted a new Talon.

Just a thought.

She’s well known for the number of Icewing skulls she’s impaled throughout the war. She is Boomslang and Quetzal’s great aunt. Postwar, she has been reunited with her living grandnephew and accompanies him for scale retrieval in the Ice and Sky Kingdoms.

Quetzal in his last moments before being murdered by an Icewing poacher. He had sold Boomslang’s egg to the Icewings in the hopes of gaining immunity from the scale trade- but he learned far too late that a bargain can’t be kept with someone who wants to wear your skin.

You know, I have a post-MM thing I write where Talon shows up now and again (because he would, right?) and I feel like the stuff you and others do with the dads has really helped me think about him more as a character. He's gotten a lot more personality over the months I've been writing and think you deserve at least a little bit of credit. So thank you!

"describe your oc and then have them describe themself" is still one of my favorite little drawing/character exercises like this one's pretty blatant vs Showing but it's still so fun in either direction. what you say and how you say it... what you dont say + how much. etc etc
