Richmond On Three! A Ted Lasso zine is now open-call, and anyone interested is able to create works for the project as long as they are submitted by the deadline of April 25th. To register, please fill out the form linked here:

Any work submitted must adhere to our content guidelines and rules, listed both here and in the server upon joining: https://tedlassozine.carrd.co/#apps. There will be a pitch process so that the mods can make sure your works are in compliance with the guidelines, and there will be a check-in system so that the deadlines don't sneak up on anybody!

I'm a few years older than them and as such have successfully indoctrinated them into loads of my interests, and we love watching period dramas together - especially ones for 'old ladies' like Downton Abbey and Call the Midwife

# of pets & their names: I don't have any pets anymore, but I used to have 2 ginger cats - they were brothers named George and Jasper

fandoms: SOOOO many so I'm gonna have to shortlist - HBO War, A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones/House of The Dragon, The Terror, Star Wars, Shadow and Bone/Six of Crows, Ted Lasso, BBC Ghosts, Doctor Who, Lord of The Rings/The Hobbit, and about a hundred different period dramas

favorite song: I think I'll have to go with I Know The End by Phoebe Bridgers - literally nothing hits quite like it

favorite author (of anything readable-- books, fanfics, zines, webtoons, whatever!): Leigh Bardugo is the author I've read the most of, but I also really love Taylor Jenkins Reid, her characters and writing style are really easy to engage with. I'm really getting into R.F. Kuang's books at the moment, as I'm currently reading the second book in the Poppy War trilogy.

hobbies: writing is ofc a big one, but I've always really loved art too! I've been acrylic painting for about ten years, which has enabled me to develop my skills in a way I'm really proud of, and I've recently started doing digital art too. I'm still trying to find my footing with that, and it'll take a lot of practice, but hopefully someday I might draw something good enough to post

favorite fic type: I love angst and fluff equally, it's all dependent on the character(s) I'm reading about or the mood I'm in tbh

favorite holiday: Christmas!!! I'm a Christmas girlie until I die, nothing else comes close

fun facts about you / anything extra you wanna share!: Wasn't sure if I should include music under fandoms, but it's a huge part of my life, so I thought I'd ramble about it here. My favourite artists are Hozier, Florence + The Machine, Phoebe Bridgers/Boygenius, and Taylor Swift (Who I'm going to see live this summer!). But I listen to music almost constantly, I literally can't do anything without it, whether I'm writing, working, or just walking around, music is an absolute life-saver to me

Favorite color: I never know how to answer this. Favorite color to wear? To paint a wall? To use in an art piece? Just to look at? In any case, I wear mostly black and gray, but my actual favorite colors are probably really dark blues, greens, and purples, or gold-y saffron-y yellows.

Currently watching: Ted Lasso (yes, I know I'm late to jump on that bandwagon, but that's my m.o. with most things). Also been rewatching every episode of Halloween Wars starting from season 1.

Last movie: I've been rewatching a lot of films by my favorite filmmakers that I hadn't seen in a while. Most recently, it was Alex Cox's Straight to Hell.

Currently reading: Hex Life (an anthology of short stories about witches), Wonderlands: Essays on the Life of Literature by Charles Baxter, and a lot of poetry from various sources. Oh, and I recently read three really good articles: How Queer is “Frankenstein?” and The Lingering Beauty of Elliott Smith (both from The New Yorker), and Pitchfork’s review of The Replacement’s Tim (Let it Bleed Edition).

sweet/spicy/savory: Savory, with spicy as a close second.

relationship status: Married to my partner of 14 years.

current obsessions: The Replacements (what else is new?!), the photography of Saul Leiter, all things spooky (cuz 'tis the season).

currently working on: Printing/collating/packing up zine orders, packing my suitcase for a lil' trip, some poems, a collage.

Character's Career Aspirations

This is assuming the main characters live and their world isn't turned into an Upside Down hell scape. (I orginally posted this on Reddit).

Max - Lawyer! The moment she said "I know a good lawyer" it clicked and I was like, 'Yeah honey, YOU in 15 years!' Maybe she focuses on child welfare??

Erica - Works at the same firm as Max. Or more corporate.

Will - Artist (duh)

Jonathan - Photographer (duh)

Jonathan and Will work for the same zines, though Jonathan also covers local news on the side and Will does various odd jobs as well. Will dates a fashion major for awhile who helps welcome him into the gay community. Both brothers thrive in California.

The rest under the cut

Dustin - Physicist, or he goes the Murray route with a focus on Cryptozoology.

Lucas - He does something in law enforcement or the military (sounds like his family has a history of service), and his work sometimes involves Max. He's burdened with being the conscience of his organization, which I think is a theme of his life.

Mike - I honestly have no idea.

Eddie - His character just screams 'bright, but obvious undiagnosed learning disorder.' In real life I'd actually encourage him to try theatre lol (DnD master skills, reading comprehension based on LOTR understanding, actually decent band, his... entire personality). I think he'll work in some record/ comics-type store, where he continues to nurture a community of outcasts. (Mike works for him for a few years. Will's publishing companies are confused as to why Will's zines do so well in the midwest??)

Steve - Cop or high school coach. For the first option, HPD needs someone on the force that actually knows what's going on. He could replace that creepy cop that interrogated the kids. He's not as bright as the others but he actually is pretty observant, plus physically fit and protective. As a coach, he'd be really good with the kids. He'd make sure the jocks weren't complete assholes and encourage them to be more well-rounded. Like a less optimistic Ted Lasso.

Robin - I definitely want her to go to college and have a year abroad full of beautiful women! She should probably work for the FBI based on her skill set, but let's say she keeps bumping heads with authority until... She winds up teaching music or languages at Hawkins High. In my head there's an Abbott Elementary- like spinoff with her and Steve, where once in awhile they have to deal with a demodog or some other eldritch entity in the teacher's lounge.

Eleven - Actually gets to experience a rollercoaster and other simple joys. She works a few years in some middle management position that involves math - she's relegated to an underfunded department where they put most of the women. Her coworkers end up really appreciating her. They have no idea she has powers they just know Jane is endearing and quietly a badass.

Nancy - Journalist. No elaboration necessary.
