You where sitting in the living room drinking a beverage that you have made for yourself patiently waiting for your husband to return from a mission. You hear a nock at the door and you spring up from your set and you rush to the door expecting to find your husband waiting for you. You opened the door only to face a fatui agent. "Are you [Name]?" He asked. "Yes." You replied. "Well I'm here to inform you that...well...your husband has died on his mission..." Your eyes widened and you could feel tears forming in your eyes, you collapsed to the ground and covered your face with your hands and just cried. You felt as though where sinking into quicksand, being suffocated by the sand but you didn't try to fight back. Everything seemed so quiet but loud at the same time. You didn't know if the fatui agent was still there, but honestly, you didn't care. Your whole world has collapsed and there was nothing you could do about it.

You woke up in your bed and suddenly it all made sense. You looked over beside you and saw your husband sleeping peacefully, you sighed in relief but then you realized, this could happen any day, your husband could die on his next mission. You could feel tears forming In your eyes again, but there was one difference, these where real tears.

Capitano woke up to the sound of soft sobbing and looked over only to see you covering your hands in your face sobbing, Capitano got up and gently rested his hand on your shoulder, you jumped at the sudden touch and looked over to see your husband with a worried look on his face. "What's wrong dear?" He asked in a soft spoken tone. "I-It's nothing." You said while trying to wipe away your tears. He pulled you closer to him and gently caressed your cheek and kissed your forehead. "If you ever want to tell me I'd be willing to listen." He said. There were a few moments of silence before you decided to tell Capitano about your nightmare. "I'm sorry you had to go through that but please know I will always put my life before my mission, I wouldn't want to make you sad." He said while nuzzling into the side of your neck more. This reassured you and you could feel yourself calming down. "Thank you." You whispered. You could feel him smile up against your neck. "If this ever happens again, please don't feel ashamed to wake me, my dear."

soundsofsaving: @arcticmonkeys is a band that transcends across generations, finding its way into every teenager's heart since their debut album, ‘Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not,’ in 2006 – with tracks like “Mardy Bum” and “I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor” continuously being rediscovered by new sets of angsty and love hungry teens. Their peak may have come with their 2013 album ‘AM’ that jumpstarted the ‘2014 Tumblr’ era of young indies feverishly aiming to fit into the ‘Tumblr girl’ aesthetic. Frontman Alex Turner’s vocals take a new, sultry and sly swing on this album, which he’s carried into their latest work. The release of their single “There Better Be A Mirrorball” last month marked the start of a new AM era, the sound of which gestures towards a more sophisticated sounding ‘Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino’ (2018), infused with dashes of funk and mystery. What may be more alluring than Turner’s voice is his lyricism, which is often nonsensical but deeply romantic nonetheless.

Arctic Monkeys has been my favorite band for nearly a decade, it was one of the first bands I found myself obsessed with, and it’ll probably hold the number one spot in my mind for a lifetime. I still remember playing their music videos on YouTube for my mom, telling her that Alex Turner was a “lyrical genius,” and later convincing her to let me go to their show alone in Brooklyn the night before my AP exam (I went, and it was amazing. Rule #1: Always go to the show.). When I saw them in 2018, I cried because they played “No 1. Party Anthem,” a song I never thought I’d hear live that narrated one of my first heartbreaks. Looking back, I don’t remember the “heartbreak” so much, but I remember the impact of the song. Their albums soundtracked so many of my formative experiences throughout adolescence, but it’s not all nostalgia. Though they explore and develop their sound more and more with each album, their stardom withstands these changes because they never stray too far from their edgy rock band image and consistently write lyrics that grab you by the ears and hold on tight.
