The animation of this show in general is gorgeous. But the Eternal Night was top tier:

wip wednesday — spyro; the eternal night

a/n: scene from a tlos fic I haven't finished in many years! ft. gaul's life flashing before his eyes

The dragon slithered out of the mountain's grip. Raw energy slaked off his hide. He flexed his wings. Eyes glowing bright white.

Lack of proficience, made up for in sheer violence. Stripped of his natural elements and inhibitions, Spyro fought like a beast.

Gaul wouldn't have it any other way. To give his life in the battle, there could be no more honorable sacrifice.

The whelp was smaller than Cynder. Cynder, who was first dropped at his feet as a hatchling to be molded into her true potential; a proxy for the Dark Master's bidding.

Taking flight. Such a small creature, becoming the mountain's conduit. Beam of energy shot from its maw. Gaul shielded his face with an arm. Attempting to draw a fist, the gauntlet crumbled around his paw. A numbness persisted in the flesh and bone.

By then the dragon was already off the ground.
