Hello, I'm not sure if you're aware, but tumblr is going to start helping midjourney gather data for their AI. You're one of the artists I follow here pretty actively and I wanted to warn you to maybe start nighshading your art before posting it here so it doesn't get swept up!

I've seen a couple of posts about it. Feeling disappointed but not that surprised. Also not excited about having to start nightshading/glazing my pieces but if there isn't going to be any serious regulations regarding data scraping and ai "art", there aren't a lot of choices.

#from what I've seen the effectiveness of nightshade/glaze has been debated and I don't even pretend to understand how it works #but like watermarks it's at least some kind of preventive measure a token effort to stop your art from being stolen and misused #but I fear that if someone is determined to do it anyway chances are they will find a way unfortunately #this shouldn't be the reality of trying to share art online #it's a pretty dismal situation when this responsibility falls on the artists themselves #I've been here since 2011 I've lived through multiple tumblr apocalypses I'm not leaving unless they make this place wholly unlivable #and I don't think there are truly good alternatives with similar sense of community and as varied posting and customization options #it seems like every other major social media platform is doing this exact same thing if not worse #answered #ohdeergood #I'm tired we're all tired of this

Makoto doesn't fit in, he blends in. It's not out of anything nefarious, but simply the way he is.

So, without a talent, he accepts that he's not special because that's what normal people think (Not special, but not worth less and especially not worthless either.) He accepts that the Talented are real-life superheroes, since that's the way everyone talks about them. (With a disconnect, as if they aren't people. As if there's a barrier.)

Makoto is disillusioned when he's accepted into Hope's Peak, for the better. Seeing these SHSL Talents act like people is a wake up call that he needed. A layer of naivety is stripped away.

He does the bare minimum and they all obsess over him. Makoto has always been a loner, walking home by himself, he didn't mind it, and yet... his classmates think of him as the glue that keeps them together, and he can't help but wonder what lives they've lived, that his basic human decency is so revered. (It's so precious to them, why? He's not special, he's treating them as he would anyone else.) Makoto can't find it in himself to figure out the answer out of fear of what he'll learn. A layer of naivety is stripped away all the same.

Makoto stands in a dark room, only the light from the black laptop illuminates the room. It makes his hair look white. His eyes are gray. He's laughing but he's so

i feel like having five's mom be a butcher is such a misunderstanding of five and what his character means.

it implies that the violent, brutal actions he commits are in some way genetic/inherited, rather than cultivated after nearly five/six decades of desperate survival and manipulation. it implies that five was always going to become violent, that he had no chance at being soft or innocent because of his genetics.

and that, to me, takes away so much of the tragedy of his situation.

five doesn't want to be a killer, but he had to become one to have a chance at saving his family. he had to accept the handler's deal because if he didn't, if he refused to kill, he would be stuck in the apocalypse with no one but a mannequin to talk to and no clean water or stable food source or general quality of life.

five's brutality and willingness to kill was man-made and cultivated by the commission. sure, his already there traits helped to propel him towards this outcome, but it wasn't his first or even second choice.

depicting his mother as a butcher by itself is a betrayal of this character. but to also depict her as someone who loves this job, who has won awards for it, who takes pleasure from driving a knife through a slab of meat over and over again?

the implications of five having always enjoyed inflicting pain or of having that base instinct his entire life strips his character of agency, and makes his choice to sacrifice some of his humanity void. he didn't choose to become a killer for any higher purpose or sacrifice, but because he was always going to be that killer, because he enjoyed it.

okay okay so. @fluffyfurry6663 actually made a beautiful comic for it its somewhere in the #tmc apocalypse au tag on my blog. i always recommend that

anyways its basically set in. your typical zombie apocalypse au. mark sarah cesar adam and jonah are all working together, and thatcher dave and ruth are teamed up as well. evelin probably joins one of their groups later. the groups merge at some point just out of need for survival so we get fun dynamics.

uhhh what happens in it. when adam and jonah first meet sarah and mark and cesar they both know that jonah got bit by a zombie but adams like lmao dude no worries. it's not like it's gonna affect us in any way. um it Very Much Affects Them

mcp3 kind of hates them all its really funny. dave likes them but thatcher thinks adam and jonah are kind of stupid HELP. he helps them out eventually after. well. im still working that part out but sometimes going to happen to someone in the trio sorry guys

a father's love. spooky story about what if your dad was a serial killer. accurate to have the serial killer dad be a cop. i'm so glad this was a standalone story and did not get some stupid lore expansion that tried to rehabilitate the Serial Killer Cop Dad

vampire killer. not at all spooky story about a homeless guy whos a fucking sick awesome vampire hunter and theyre like gross mosquito hypnosis vampires. the sequel children of the night is almost scary but then he kills the vampire for the first time and she explodes like a mosquito. the lore expansion where he saves the serial killer's daughter from her job at the demon church and they become roadtrip besties killing monsters overseas rules actually

anatomy class. perhaps the funniest horror story i have ever read. what if you were trying to teach an entry level anatomy class to a bunch of kids in the same white shirt and blue jeans with different cultural placeholder names but they were actually like. meat creatures who were taking the class to learn how to be shaped like people. theres a scene where the teacher is explaining how hearts beat and all of them hold up the animal heart theyre dissecting and they start beating in different rhythms and theyre like "which one is right?" and at the end of the semester they give him an apple filled with human teeth shaped like a smile and a nice note thanking him for teaching them good :). absolutely killer 4-koma comedy horror manga idea

binary. not at all scary. starts with the protagonist telling you shes a Real hacker and the horror stories about the dark web are STUPID. proceeds to be the dumbest fucking story youve ever read about an evil video of a guy eating a computer to put his brain in it and becoming a tortured chatbot.

book of the dead. spooky story about what if there was a book which as soon as you read it wrote an extremely brutal death for you to happen very soon, and every time you try to avoid your fate your death changes to be closer and more painful. i should probably not have listened to this as a kid with untreated OCD.

body builder. not at all scary story about a guy who goes to a gym but they let you get silly with it. they let you get four legs and no head and stitch a smiley face into your chest.
