This morning the world’s white face reminds us that life intends to become serious again. And the same loud birds that all summer long annoyed us with their high attitudes and chatter silently line the gibbet of the fence a little stunned, chastened enough. They look as if they’re waiting for things to grow worse, but are watching the house, as if somewhere in their dim memories they recall something about this abandoned garden that could save them. The neighbor’s dog has also learned to wake without exaggeration. And the neighbor himself has made it to his car with less noise, starting the small engine with a kind of reverence. At the window his wife witnesses this bleak tableau, blinking her eyes, silent. I fill the feeders to the top and cart them to the tree, hurrying back inside to leave the morning to these ridiculous birds, who, reminded, find the rough shelters, bow, and then feed.

there is just something so beautiful about songs about the joy you get from such mundane things.

like singing about how the weather's sunny or the weather's rainy but in a way so heartfelt and uplifting the song stays with you, close to your heart for years to come even if you don't know its name

like singing about how much you love your best friends. not because they recently did something that particularly amazes you but just appreciating them being there for you and just generally genuinely making you happy

the most mundane everyday things can become the most meaningful and heartfelt and it's probably just because I'm aroace but I feel that they're so much more genuine than songs about how happy you are because you and your romantic partner got back together or something

i remember seeing a youtube comment a short while back that was along the lines of "I know that usually it's only love songs that are meaningful but this song is the exception" and just thinking dear god how sad must this person's life be if they can't find beauty in anything other than something to do with love. Have you never just stared at a bird perched in a tree singing? Never seen a painting so full of colours that compliment each other in such a way that they each make the others look brighter but it never becomes a clashing over-the-top mess but a harmony of rainbows? Never just eaten a really good meal?

I would trade a thousand shallow, boring, generic songs about romance or heartbreak in exchange for one song about the beauty in the mundane things we take for granted.

#ryzhik dove #good morning 🕊🕊🕊 tons of garden update lately 😂✨ #i said before that ryzhik dove had a child but i don't think i've ever had a video of him... well here he is)) #he usually comes in the morning and seems to have a different flock to ryzhik! sometimes i see them feeding together though #so whoever they're all with i guess they are friendly flocks or even family units #we know he must be ryzhik's child because he appeared about a year after the latter and they remain the only brown pigeons in the area #he's got a good personality and is almost as tame as ryzhik #he struts very often and coos at other pigeons. he's a good bird 😁 #he has a really unique bronze shine to his neck that is not as glittery as the blue pigeons but glimmers like sunshine on milk froth #it shows so well in the sun i will try to catch him in sunny weather sometime 🤩 #i've not given him a name yet... if i were to ask you what would you name this chap? ✨ #please enjoy the pidges and our very overgrown garden this morning! love you lots 💖💖💖💖💖 #parrot #cute #birds
