this is the first book of a series dont worryyall i did nOT spend money on it in fact . i got it from the library lol boerd as hell anyways this book issss ummm well a romance with some backstabbing drama etc. i dont like the main character shes annoying to me a bit. i like the guy tho i like arin. HEEEE deserves better 🤞 IMO there needs to be more evil in this book. like i need arin to be ruthlessly evil instead of having a soft spot for kestrel. but yeah im gonna start the second book now ill give this one uhhhhhhh 6/10 bc my ass read it to the end which is a rare sight 💀

thinking about how this is both a representation of foreshadowing, of being stuck in coin’s game rather than snow‘s, but also how they never really leave the games. how the roles are rehearsed over and over and even with the games eventually being past, they're still fitting those moulds. doomed to be tribute/victor/mentor wherever they are.
