Літо 2014-го року. Вже не школяр, але ще не студент. Минуло лише кілька тижнів з моменту здачі мого останнього екзамену. Одного вечора, прийшовши після чергової гулянки до дому, я сидів і слухав тоді зовсім нову для себе музику - Pink Floyd. Незадовго до того, моя бабуся відкрила для мене одну чудову та цікаву річ: вона показала мені веб-сайт, на якому цілодобово йде трансляція з Міжнародної космічної станції. Можеш собі уявити який я був збентежений! Так це перетворилось на свого роду ритуал. Дивився на Землю з борту МКС, а в колонках тихенько грала Marooned.

Через деякий час, мені захотілося більшого та за щасливим збігом обставин, я згадав про стару бабусину розкладачку. Була вона на той момент вже не в найкращому стані, однак цього було достатньо для спалахнувшої в моїй голові ідеї. Знов прийшовши до дому посеред ночі, я дістав розкладачку, поставив її посеред двору, взяв свій планшет з собою і пішов спати на вулицю. Літо було дуже тепле, дбайливий вітер танцював навколо мене; небо було таке, ніби його хтось натер поліроллю для скла - жодної хмаринки, незліченні зорі немов палали над головою. Слід зазначити, що в 2014-му році, в моєму маленькому містечці не всюди були ліхтарі, а такі райони як мій обладнали ними роками пізніше, що тільки грало мені на руку.

Момент істини! Вмостившись на розкладачці та одягнувши навушники, запалив цигарку, увімкнув пісню і перевів свій погляд з яскравого екрану на нічне небо. Очі спочатку майже не бачили зорі, втім згодом вони звикли і магія почалась. Зірки з’являлись одна за одною та заповнили весь видимий мною простір. З обох боків, ніби велетенські стражі, мене охороняли два будинки.

В душі коїлось щось незрозуміле. Спокій і водночас тривога. Попереду мене чекав новий етап, нова сторінка моєї історії. Минуло майже 9 років. Попереду нова сторінка, нові виклики, нове життя. Можливо найважливіший і найвідповідальніший крок в моєму житті. Звична для мене тривога кудись поділась, а замість неї з’явилась впевненість і дивна порожнеча. Начебто все зайве і неважливе зникло, звільнивши, таким чином, місце для чогось нового. Значить все роблю правильно.

Світлини, які ти побачиш, я зробив на свій телефон. Нічого не обробляв. Як є, як було. Майже як того літа, але на майже 9 років пізніше і зробив я їх взимку.

P. S. Ледь не забув, то була The Great gig in the sky. Тоді, вночі, влітку 2014-го, між двома будинками, під зорями..

An accusation that is always put in the room, that Pink Floyd copy themselves. An accusation that goes exactly in the other direction, that you move away too much from their roots. . This shows that all criticism is actually nonsense! Why should musicians not be allowed to copy themselves? And why should musicians not be allowed to deviate from their known line? . Another accusation is the band's perfectionism. Pink Floyd were already perfect in the 1970s, but here and there inconsistencies crept in, which gave the works a certain charm. On "The Division Bell" Pink Floyd play better and more perfect than ever. . It is a great disc on which the three remaining Pink Floyd members that they have not forgotten anything but have even become better. . The result is not a new prog rock album, nor a post psychadelic trip. The Division Bell is in contrast to the Work of the 1970s "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn", "A Saucerful Of Secrets", "More", "Ummagumma", "Atom Heart Mother", "Relics", "Meddle", "Obscured By Clouds", "The Dark Side of the Moon", "Wish You Were Here" or even "Animals" or “the Wal”l no masterpiece, The just listed extra ordinary masterpieces can neither be surpassed by Pink Floyd themselves let alone by anyone. "The Division Bell" is simply perfectly made and damn good rock music of the highest quality to be appreciated. If a completely unknown band had created "the Division Bell", then surely all extreme storms of enthusiasm would have broken out among the self proclaimed music experts - whoa, they sound as grandiose as Pink Floyd... . . . . .

The last Pink Floyd album in the #discoveryboxset, and the last Pink Floyd album to feature more than two of its original members. In my opinion it’s more of a real Pink Floyd album than #learningtofly in that Richard Wright and David Gilmour contribute most of the songwriting on at least the musical end of it. Three songs by Wright and Gilmour, one song just by Richard Wright, five songs by David Gilmour, one song by Gilmour and their producer Bob Ezrin. That’s on the end of the musical composition. David Gilmour shares credit for writing lyrics with his spouse Polly Sampson, with Nick Laird-Clowes, or with both on all songs except instrumentals of course. Richard Wright’s musical composition had lyrics provided by Anthony Moore. This #1994 #album was the real end of the band as a functioning unit: #theendlessriver, released 20 years later in #2014, was put together by Nick Mason and David Gilmour after Richard Wright had passed away, using music he had left behind. It’s not bad music but it’s not particularly interesting and not at the creative level we’ve come to expect from any members of Pink Floyd. It’s not even particularly interesting as ambient music. The discovery box itself is a great collection of Pink Floyd studio albums from their first to this one.
