early nsync is so funny to me because it’s so obvious their original company wanted them to just fit into the generic boyband image but,,,it’s nsync,,,that image really doesn’t suit them well imo and they end up looking like dorks a majority of the time than whatever the hell they intended

⋘I-Land / Enhypen⋙ Love, I-Land (special chapter)
Tagging: @mari-kigold @akira-star @affectionaterainoflove @enhypenthusiast @periwinkle-ink
Genre: just very nostalgic :))
Word Count: 2k+
Jay knew something was up when he walked into a dead silent Hybe building.
Looking around, he frowned at the emptiness. Am I too early? Too late? Checking his watch, he realized that he was exactly on time. So where is everyone?
Sitting down on the couch, he decided to wait for everyone in the lounge. Perhaps the other members were playing some trick on him, to scare him when he lets his guard down. None of the other Hybe artists were here today, since Bang PD had let everyone take the day off, so the silence felt disorienting.
A beep from Jay’s phone startled him out of his thoughts, and he clicked on the notification.
Location change: go back to where we started. See you at the reunion!
“Go back to where we started…” Jay muttered, a smile spread across his face as he thought back to the old box in the woods.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Remember when we first came here?” Youngbin sighed as he, Jimin, and Sungchul walked through the forest. “It seems so long ago.”
“Yeah…” Jimin stretched his arms above his head, pointing at the familiar building coming into view. “And we’re here.”
“It still hasn’t changed,” Sungchul said in awe, watching as the black door slowly flipped open and the three of them walked in. “I can’t wait to see everyone again.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Wow...I can’t believe it’s been a year already,” K traced the sides of the egg gate. “Everything feels older.”
“No, it’s just you getting old,” Kyungmin teased, ducking behind Nicholas before K could smack him. “I’m kidding, I’m kidding.”
“Remember when we waited for you to come back from the dance unit test?” EJ asked. “You guys were so cool performing on stage.”
K smiled, thinking back to the old memories. The feeling of being on stage again, giving all he got to keep from getting eliminated. The cheers from the other boys, the smiles at the camera. He still recalled the nervous feeling of waiting for the results, and most of all, he vividly remembered the moment he, Jungwon, and Sunghoon got back to I-Land and hearing—
“Hello~”
As if on cue, the gate opened to present Enhypen crowding around the entrance, doing the exact same move K had created a year ago. Jaw dropping in shock, he heard the yells from the other boys as they tumbled out the egg and embraced the members they haven’t seen in months. Before he could fully comprehend everything, a wild blur of blonde hair suddenly launched himself onto him and Taki, wrapping his arms around them both.
“Taki! Hyung! You’re back!” K laughed as Niki jumped up and down, bursting with excitement to see his fellow Japanese brothers. Has he grown taller? K wondered, and he felt somehow proud and sad at the same time. Ruffling Niki’s hair, he watched as the younger hugged Taki, almost lifting him off his feet. “Let him breathe, Niki, we’re not going anywhere.”
“You’re finally here.” A familiar voice said, and K turned to see Seon making his way over. Grinning, he trapped K in another hug, and K feels like he’s finally back home.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Did you actually framed the shirt?”
“Yes I did, do you want to come over to see it?” Jay boasted, trying to one up Nicholas.
“He actually didn’t, he lost it when we moved into the dorms and this morning he panicked because he couldn’t wear it to the reunion,” Jake said, causing Nicholas to raise his eyebrows at Jay, who gave Jake a look of betrayal.
“You weren’t supposed to tell him that!”
“Well, it’s not like—ahhhhh!”
Before Jake could finish his sentence, a larger body wrapped his arms around him. He could sense the younger boy’s enormous smile before he could hear him. “It’s me, Jakey!”
“Daniel!” Jake tried to struggle out of Daniel’s embrace, though he was too busy laughing. “You almost gave me a heart attack.”
“He’s going around hugging everyone,” Jay explained, “Don’t be surprised if he actually gives you one next time.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The ghost watched the boys crowding around the egg gate, a sad smile on his face. It’s been so long since he had any visitors, and seeing them back brought some light in his undead life. Literally. All the lights had been shut off since the boys left, and the ghost had to make his way around in perpetual darkness. Not that he needs any light to see, but it's nice to view the sun, even if it’s just for a little while.
Turning around to look at the practice room he just came out of, the ghost could almost see the past images of the boys practicing there. The Fire team, organizing their formations. The Fake Love team with their hoods and shirts over their heads, trying to practice without laughing. The Flicker team, playing around with the curtains. It’s also the place where Seon first found him, and the first time the ghost ever revealed itself to anyone.
There was the lounge connecting to it, where Niki had played the piano and Heeseung had sung. Where the infamous arm wrestling match had taken place and the boys had played with the video filters on the IPads. Where they had cried and comforted each other, and where Jay had written his heartfelt letters.
Making his way up the staircase that the Grounder boys had also walked up to see I-Land, the ghost drifted along the common room. Here, all of them had sat while playing Truth or Dare, the hoodies spread out and “Made by Jay” was created, where they waited anxiously to perform. If he concentrates just enough, the ghost can almost imagine the I-Land boys filming their PR videos, and sheep Niki making Sunghoon laugh.
There was the dining area, the place where the morning zombies had sat, Sunoo had said “I’m cuter,” where they munched on macaroons and ramen. The ghost can almost see the nine reading letters from their parents, talking and joking around the table. There was the kitchen area, where Sunghoon had screeched about the pork, Hanbin had found the broken banana, and Heeseung had ranted about the ramen. The fridge was empty of spoons, and no one did any side squats to get rid of bloating now.
Moving on to the bedrooms. He had always wondered how K managed to fit his long limbs on the bed, or if he could at all. The mist that Sunoo had sprayed all over his face, and that Jungwon had almost eaten, was gone from the drawer, leaving only the empty reflection of the room in the mirror. The annoying fly that Geonu had tried to catch was gone, the light that Jay had turned off dark (no, the dressing room light does not automatically turn off by itself), all the beds stripped of clothes and necessities. Why Nicholas was sleeping naked would remain a mystery, no more Jay yelling at everyone to wake up and Niki going back to sleep right after.
The washrooms were next. He had to admit, Jungwon’s and Jake’s pranks against Jay worked pretty well, coming from a ghost anyway. There were the sinks lining the wall where K and Taki washed up like father and son, where K and Jay hugged and promised that they’ll debut together, where Jay scolded everyone for leaving their laundry around.
Out of the washroom now, the ghost lingered outside the room that used to contain the stage outfits and BTS phones. The traces of the boys can be felt, thinking back to the selfies and pictures they took together, to when they marveled at the clothes for their very first “Into the I-Land” stage. He peeked into the practice rooms where he can almost see the Pretty U team helping Sunghoon struggle through aegyo, and where the I Need U team played zombies with the eye massager.
Drifting down the stairs again, remembering how Youngbin carried Jungwon down the stairs to the practice when the younger boy was barefooted, the ghost moved on to the stage itself. He recalled every performance here clearly; the nerve-wracking audition stages, the dance and vocal units battle, the incredible “I&credible” stages, the moving “Calling” performance, and the iconic “Dive Into You” stage. Jigeum Buteo saying “Standby,” Jake’s “this hyung is crazy!” and the confused “Rival? Live?” echoed through the ghost’s ears. The memories of it all hit him like a truck (not that he would feel anything if he was hit by a truck, he’s a ghost after all, but you get the simile), causing him to choke up a little. He missed them so much.
Strolling outside now, the ghost walked into Ground, and reminisced some more. Here was where Rain taught them “Fire” and hugged every one of the boys. He could picture Jay giving back massages to Kyungmin, telling him how they must work through the pain to get to I-Land. There was Hanbin comforting Jaebeom (it’s so weird calling him Echan now), and helping the other boys learn the dance. Sunoo and Sungchul practicing “Save Me,” Jaeho practicing with Nicholas and Niki, Taki making faces at the camera. A blurry image of all the boys comparing and measuring their heights, trying to see who’s taller. Really, I-Land seems like a magical paradise, but he would never forget the fun times the Grounders had, and the hard work they put in to achieve their dreams.
Outside once again, he spied the matted grass on the ground and smiled wistfully. It’s strange, he thought, how it was still there after Jungwon filmed his PR video in his sheep costume. He remembered how adorable he was, how all of them were, showing off their personalities to get fans to vote for them. And now it’s getting dark, so the ghost moved on to the small light from a campfire in the distance.
Settling down on the ground, he watched as all the boys talked and joked with each other. They were sitting down in front of the large screen, where the final 11 had watched the fan videos, and pulled the benches around in a circle. Their smiles lit up their faces, their arms tangled in one another, Jimin’s head leaning against Geonu’s, Taeyong holding onto Echan’s hand. The scene filled the ghost with a feeling he can’t describe, and being a ghost with no heart, it was definitely a little strange, feeling something after a long time of emptiness.
“....and I just want to say thank you, to everyone for staying by my side on this journey,” Seon concluded, snapping the ghost out of his daze as the boy sat down. As if reading his thoughts, Seon’s eyes flickered over to where the ghost sat, and smiled.
Thank you for looking after us.
Being a ghost is lonely sometimes, floating in and out of places with no purpose. The smile, that one kind thought, ignited a flame in him. In a world filled with countless people, it’s hard to spot a lone spirit, invisible in a crowd. It’s even harder to make them feel at home, in a place where they’re recognized and wanted. Yet here he is, enveloped in a family who coaxed him out of his shell. No, I should be thanking you, Seon.
Maybe this is what the fans felt, watching them run for their dreams. Every Friday charged with anticipation and excitement, of finding who would get eliminated and who would stay. Away from lives permeated with pain, loneliness, and uncertainty, they found solace within these 23 boys as they followed them on this journey to debut. Along the way, the fans found each other as well, and a community full of eggies and engenes was born.
Thank you for the memories, I-Land.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
A/N: Thank you to all the eggies for welcoming me into this wonderful family. Whether you were a predebut stan or just started stanning Enhypen, thank you for supporting our boys. I-Land is over now, but our journey with the boys will live on.

Anniversary 1 (One Shot) Alastor X Marie Wife OC  (Hazbin Hotel)
[Hello My Sexy Readers, back with another requests and this one being requested by: AI47010 on wattpad. we hope you enjoy!]
(No one's pov)
A girl sat at a table, looking down at her hand as she held back a squeal smiling at the ring as a man with a tv head walked beside her, holding a drink as she looked up at him. "Hey there Mar you know..I'd like to plug my adapter into your HDMI slot." He said right as another demon walked behind the two to get their drinks before he stopped, his smile growing wider as it was clearly strained.
"Huh-Oh Oh no no no no, I appreciate it don't get me wrong but, well, I'm married, quite happily so, I'm monogamous. I wouldn't ever dream of doing that to my husband, I'd rather be sent back to old sparky again than hurt my husband in such a way."
(she doesn't even notice alastor XD she was to busy shutting him down and also gushing over her ring)
(XD yup that is Marie for you XD)
It was there first honeymoon. The two went together like bird of a feather but Alastor was still worried she leave him and to his damn rival try and flirt with HIS wife it made something in him snap.
(I mean he was killed by police dogs, she was killed by the police in the electric chair)
(Yeah so it makes since they be a math >:3 a match in hell XD)
(which for a woman to be killed in her day..I don't wanna know what she did XD)
(XD Probably is a murder of five husbands but in this one she actually got caught XD)
(well I understand why al is worried she'd leave then XD she got 5 other husbands XD)
(XD)
He stalked over to them as Vox's eyes widen not that Marie noticed she was in her own little word.
"I mean, in all my husbands never have I ever felt this way, what I'm saying is, I would Never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever leave him or cheat on him." She said smiling.
(vox like 0-0 meanwhile marie is like (✿◕‿◕) hence why she's gonna be excited to have people know that XD and they gonna know alright)
(XD)
"You Are Right You Will Never Leave Me~!" Alastor says and normally was not a sexual man but to hear HIS wife say this oh it made him as hard as the first time they made love on their honeymoon.
But he has to show all of hell that she was HIS And HIS Alone he lets his tentacles out
(Be warned it is about to get freaky XD)
"Alasto--Eh!?" she was cut off when her arms were restrained.
"Uh heh uh, look Buddy--" Vox started only for Alastor to give a smile he hadn't seen before as his shadow walked out from behind him.
"U-Uh alastor? What are you doing?" Marie asked, a little concerned, she's never seen him like that as she noticed his shadow beside her. he.. wouldn't kill her, right?
(I like how she is worried hed kill her she's so used to killing her spouses XD)
(XD)
"Oh I would never kill you Mon Ange~" He says. "But I am going to show you that you belong to me and me alone~! And I am going to broadcast it across hell so every single demon young and old knows~"
(Uh what about the kids come on alastor don't scar the kids for life XD)
(Hide your kids XD Hide Your wives XD)
She was about to speak as others turn around now confused as her face went red when she felt his shadow beside her, now touching her as her face went red. what happened to that man, missionary position, stumbling over his words, where the hell was he, and who replaced him?
(I mean shh marie the first time is always awkward, and he had books and photos to learn)
(XD)
The shadow took out his cock and rubbed it into her lips, this being an extension of Alastor and his lust for her~ The tentacles began to tear off her clothes.
(oh come on we all know the first time was missionary, the most adventurous was him eating her out XD)
(XD Yup and even that was clumsy XD)
She Blushed as she was about to object before stopping as she thought about it, compared to the first time..She let out a small breathless sigh as she opened her mouth for him as he grabbed the back of her head only for her to gag and pull away so she didn't vomit as the shadow let go.
(got a little to excited, she ain't used to it, give it a second XD)
The shadow was patient taking his time and soon they found a good rythem and she was bobbing her head and sucking on the cock while stroking what was not in her mouth.
Alastor was watching with lust mic in hand sending out the waves to everyone he then moves his tentacles with his voodoo magic to start to tease her holes and body~
(at least the mic ain't causing problems XD)
(XD)
She let ut a moan into the shadow as those around were watching. some shocked, others enjoying it a bit too much, but it wasn't like they would be able or even willing to get any closer.
This was the wife of the Radio Demon if they try to stop it or even look at her the wrong way they be dead for real.
Besides she wasn't exactly complaining as her moans were heard allthrought hell. well..most of hell, very few exceptions.
He watched smirking, he loved this more than he thought. When that effeminate fellow Angel told him that missionary sex was the one sure fire way to kill a marriage, well, he got worried, and despite not liking him, he was a porn star, and who knew more than him, he was the one to give the idea of spicing it up with some pda. ( I think he meant hand holding..) or with some different sex positions,, or partners, course when Marie walked in just hearing Angel say "You should try different sex partners" well, both of them ended up with an ice pack as she was fuming
She did not like to share Alastor and Alastor did not like to share her though he was more murderous than her. Like someone as so much as hugging her ended with broken arms.
But now, well now he got to see her like this, she never would have let him see her if she wasn't presentable, there are times when he worried if the wedding would be delayed if anyone messed anything up. (it's her perfectionist side..there's something about seeing someone so proper though turn to a total sex crazed, messy bitch XD)
(XD)
He adore this side of her and wanted to see more the tentacles start to push their way into her tight holes making her moaned louder around the cock making Alastor and Alastpr shadow shudder.
She moaned louder, pulling him closer suddenly taking all of him in as she gagged but not as violently as she managed to relax her throat as she suddenly tensed up as she came right as they entered her as she moaned a long, loud, guttural muffled moan. (Jesus XD)
The shadow and Alastor came as well as she closed her throat around the shadow dick and Alastor tuck his cock back in his pants.
Alastor smirked. "Now you all have seen me take my wife if any of you touch her it will be the end of you. Are we ready for a encore~"
(Oh now it is about pleasure XD He taught the less but no it is time to enjoy the PDA XD)
[WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Take that sexy readers it is just part one and We hope that you all enjoyed and stay sexy!]

I Remember (1/?)
Today had started out like any other Tuesday. I had woken up, logged in to work remotely for a few hours and then moved to a café for a change of scenery and to grab some lunch.
I usually frequented cafés close by my apartment, but my friend had highly recommended this quaint, newly opened one with an extensive pasta menu that was a half-hour train ride away. Anyone who knows me knows I'm a sucker for good pasta, and her rave review of their squid ink spaghetti had haunted me for the past week.
And so there I was on a Tuesday afternoon, after checking that they welcomed lingering customers. My laptop sat open across from me so I could monitor my inbox and I surveyed the simple decorations that created a homely ambiance. The fact that I was the only customer helped complete the serene scene. If this café were within walking distance, I would come again just for the atmosphere.
Ten minutes after giving my order to the waiter, my food finally arrived. The dark sauce coated the noodles beautifully, the seafood peeking out between the long strands making my mouth salivate in anticipation. As I picked up my fork, a tinkle of a bell sounded from the café entrance.
"Hello," a soft but confident voice greeted the approaching waiter. "One salmon aglio olio to go please. Thanks."
My fork stopped halfway to my mouth. My back was to the entrance but I would recognise that voice even in a noisy room.
"Tasha?"
And that confirmed it. It was him.
"Dongyoung," I greeted, standing and turning around to face the man. "It's been a while."
"When did you come back to Korea?" His tone was accusing now.
"How are you? How's Taeyong? How are the kids?" I shot out question after question, hoping he would forget the one he had asked.
"We're all fine. When did you come back?"
So much for that.
"Oppa…"
"Don't you 'oppa' me. We're basically the same age."
I sighed, dropping onto my seat and turning away from him. "I've been back for a year now."
He took the seat opposite me. Uninvited, but not unexpected.
"One year." The hurt in his voice made me wince. "A whole year and you didn't bother to call."
"Dongyoung, please."
His laugh was void of mirth. "So we're back to this, huh? The last time I saw you, you exclusively called me Doie."
I looked up at him.
"I guess that's what four years of silence does between friends."
*~*
"Five, six, seven, eight…"
The 7th Sense NCT U unit was made up of my favourite fellow trainees.
Mark, who was the same age as my little brother whom I dearly missed. His naive sense of humour and bright eyed wonder had me growing fond of him in no time at all. Our shared love of story writing also brought us closer, as we encouraged each other to keep up with writing even as we were busy with idol training. He was my happy pill during our years as trainees together.
Ten, my fellow international school kid. We were different in that he came from money while I was the daughter of a diplomat. PSA: not all diplomats are wealthy! They are still government officers and don't earn nearly as much as you think they do. One of the perks was getting subsidised education, which made it possible for my siblings and I to attend international schools in non-English speaking countries we lived in. Ten and I hadn't known each other prior to becoming trainees, but he and I found that we just clicked. We even found several mutual friends in our international school networks.
Jaehyun and I took a little longer to warm up to each other. I was a fairly quiet person, only talkative around people I was comfortable with, so I was never one to initiate conversation. Jaehyun never approached me to start talking either, so a few months after we first met, our relationship had not progressed beyond a polite greeting when we bumped into each other. It took Taeyong to help us break the ice, but once we got to talking we found that our interests overlapped and they were the foundation to our pretty solid friendship.
Taeyong is the one trainee to whom I’m most grateful. I entered the company shortly after he did, and he seemed to decide to take me under his wing upon our first meeting. It didn’t matter that our training schedules didn’t overlap; he would always check in on me and help me when I struggled with getting dance moves memorised. In time, as Taeyong started writing and producing more songs, he would include me in his process and get me to record demos with him and Dongyoung.
Dongyoung was an enigma to me. I knew he had a kind heart because he would do things like invite foreign trainees home during holidays so they would have somewhere to go. I could see the warmth in his interactions with other trainees but he was only ever cordial to me, so I always thought he did not like me very much. It was, once again, thanks to Taeyong that we got closer. Dongyoung and I were both vocalists, but I dabbled in some rapping and Taeyong seemed to enjoy writing songs that featured the three of us. Studio sessions with the two of them became some of my favourite memories of my time as a trainee.
I was looking through the lyrics of the latest song Taeyong had written when the group finished their practice run and paused for a water break.
“Tash,” Taeyong greeted as he flopped down next to me, leaning his back on the cool mirror.
“You guys are looking really good,” I praised, handing him a water bottle. “The modifications you guys made last week improved the overall performance a lot.”
“Right? I’m so glad the choreographer let us do that.”
Dongyoung approached us, sitting on my other side. I passed him the last of my stock of water bottles. “Hey.”
“I’m beat,” he sighed. “But we look good right?”
“Yeah I was just saying that.”
The three of us sat in amicable silence for a few moments, the two of them gulping down the cool water as I finished perusing Taeyong’s lyrics. I shut my eyes as my thoughts turned to my own debut, or lack thereof, and my family’s increasing worries.
“Hey, you okay?” I opened my eyes to find Dongyoung peering at me in concern.
I gave him a half smile. “I guess.”
“You’ll debut soon,” Taeyong assured me, guessing the subject of my thoughts correctly. I appreciated his vote of confidence, but we all knew that was a lie, at least if I stayed at SM. Having debuted Red Velvet two years ago, it was highly improbable that they would debut another girl group so soon. And besides, they were all tied up in NCT’s official debut, with two U units, 127 and Dream all training hard to perfect their debut performances.
“We should probably get back to training,” Taeyong said apologetically. His eyes were kind as he briefly grasped my shoulder with a comforting hand before standing up. “Tell me what you think of that song later,” he nodded at the printed lyrics in my hand. “I want your verse by the end of the week!”
Dongyoung sat studying my expression for a bit longer.
“I’m fine, Doie. Really.” I pushed his shoulder gently. “Go. They’re waiting for you.”
“We’ll go out to eat after this, okay?” he offered, standing. “We can get pasta. My treat.”
“Man after my own heart,” I proclaimed, clutching my chest in jest.
He grinned as he walked to his starting position.
I watched as Taeyong counted the boys into yet another rehearsal. Meeting Dongyoung's eyes in the practice room mirror, I could see the nerves he increasingly felt but rarely showed for their debut performance, only seven days from now. I smiled as brightly as I could, hoping he couldn't tell my heart was breaking knowing I would be leaving in five.
*~*
The Doyoung that sat before me today was a fully fledged kpop star, hair perfectly coiffed and clothes fitting his comfortable but stylish lookbook. He had truly grown into his looks, and seeing him was making my heart ache. With pride? With longing? I didn't even know myself. I had just started developing maybe-more-than-friends feelings towards him when I had found myself back with my family.
"You look good. Healthy."
"Where have you been for the last four years, Natasha?"
His use of my entire first name hurt more than I expected. Was this how he felt when I called him Dongyoung?
"I went back home."
"As in back to your home country?" he asked, incredulous.
"Yes."
"Why? And don't tell me it's because you didn't debut with Red Velvet."
"You're kidding, right?" It was my turn to laugh humourlessly. "Has SM debuted another girl group since then?"
"Well no, but-"
"Don't say they might have added me to the group like they did Yeri. When I left, it had been one year since that happened and two years since they debuted!"
"But why did you have to leave?" Doyoung's voice was rising. "You could have moved to another company. You know you had the skills to debut."
"I just… had to, okay?"
I guess he heard the pleading in my voice because he switched to another line of questioning after studying me for a minute.
“Why didn’t you tell us?” His voice was quiet. “Taeyong and me, especially,” he sighed. “We missed you. We still miss you.”
“I’m sorry. I know it was shitty of me but I just didn’t want to make a big deal out of me leaving.” I did not want to give you guys the chance to persuade me to stay.
There was a pause. “Did you miss us?”
Tears I thought had dried up years ago threatened to fall. “You have no idea how much,” I whispered, willing myself not to cry.
“Oh I think I do-”
“At least you guys had each other,” I blurted.
“Excuse me?” Doyoung narrowed his eyes at me. “We were not the ones who stopped talking to you! I called until your number went out of service! And then we looked for you online but there was absolutely nothing. Why did you fall off the grid completely?”
I opened my mouth to respond but was interrupted by the waiter bringing Doyoung his food. Doyoung thanked him and handed him a card. “I’ll take care of her bill as well.”
“Don’t,” I protested. We were in the middle of an argument and he still wanted to take care of me. “Just charge him for his food, please,” I asked the waiter.
“I’ll pay for her,” Doyoung insisted. “Thank you.”
The waiter left, an awkward smile on his face as he retreated.
“I have to go now, so we’ll put a pin in this conversation.” Doyoung stared hard at me until I nodded my assent. "Does anyone know you're back?"
I shook my head. "I work in software now. I don't run in the same circles anymore."
"You know we have these things called phones, right?" He gestured at his Samsung with exaggerated motions. "They're amazing. You can connect with anyone, anywhere. Even if they're in a different country." He looked at me pointedly.
"I'm sorry, okay? I know I could have, should have, kept in touch but I just… I couldn't."
"Why?"
A million reasons. "I don't want to get into it right now."
"Fine. But you know I'll keep asking until I get answers."
I smiled, thinking about his habit of persistently badgering us until he got what he wanted. "I know."
"In fact," he grabbed my phone, which had been lying next to my rapidly cooling plate of pasta. "I'm going to call myself so I have your number."
Before I could protest, he had held my phone up to unlock it with my face and was dialling.
"Wait, I-"
He clicked the dial button and automatically put the phone up to his ear, before slowly lowering it again, staring at the screen in disbelief.
"So you kept my number. This whole time. And you still never called."
I didn’t know what to say to that. All I could do was apologise again. “I-”
“Just save it, Tash.” He put my phone back on the table. “I’m going now. Pick up when I call, okay?”
“I don’t like talking on the phone. Can you text me instead?” I joked, trying to keep my tone light.
“Do not test me,” Doyoung glowered. “Answer when I call.”
“Okay,” I murmured, but he was already walking to the counter to pick up his card.
He left without looking back.

a little sugar, a little spice (pt. 1)
Oh hello again, dear readers! @misty-the-mysterious, this is for you, lovely! Based upon your fluff prompt “I didn’t agree to this much adorableness” from approximately five billion years ago.
Summary: Logan, the optometrist, is awful at giving gifts. Most years, he doesn’t even try, but when he does, a trail of happenstance leads him to a bakery that will open his eyes like never before. You like bad puns, fluff, and cliches? Great, dig in, because they are all baked right in to this story. Get your fill(ing). Sorry, I’ll stop.
“Loooogan! No cookies today?! How the hell am I supposed to make it through the day without that sweet, sweet chocolate?” Roman draped himself lazily across his friend’s desk, knocking a pair of glasses onto the floor.
“Tsk, Roman!” Logan huffed, snatching the glasses up quickly and studying the lenses carefully. “The last thing you need is sugar. These are Mrs. Hubbard’s new glasses and you can be the one to explain to her what happened if they are scratched.” He glared down at the other man and swiped at the lenses with a cloth.
Roman peeled himself from the desk slowly and threw an arm across his eyes dramatically. “Oh, Mrs. Hubbard would absolutely understand once I explained my tragic collapse due to chocolate withdrawal.” Under his hand, he winked cheekily. “She’s a fellow cacao-lover.”
“Why would you even know that? How is that relevant?”
“Well, because, unlike you, Dr. Grump, many people actually enjoy some small talk as they have to sit and wait for you to do whatever it is you do back here. I know lots of things about your patients. Do you want to know who is getting divorced?”
“Jesus, Ro, no.” Logan couldn’t help but laugh a little as he gingerly placed the glasses and case back on his desk. He didn’t even have to look up to know the smug smile that Roman wore; it was a familiar feeling. A distant beeping cut into their conversation. “Isn’t that the phone ringing? You keep up this poor job performance and I’ll have to fire you.” The tone was serious, but the teasing glint in his eyes gave him away.
“You wouldn’t last a week without me, specs.” Roman shot back with a barking laugh as he slipped back through the door.
Logan pushed his glasses further up his nose with a scoff and returned to the stack of form piled up on his desk. Prescription forms, inventory forms, new patient forms, claim filing forms. Before, he all but cherished that time of day. After their dizzying lunchtime rush of patients, Logan could retreat back to the calm of his office and turn his mind off with paperwork. The slick glide of his pen, the mechanical repetition of signatures, the effortless organization. Now, the absent tapping of his pen filled the little room. He puzzled at how empty his desk looked without cookies. He let his head drop onto the stack of papers with a groan.
Three weeks prior, the chain reaction leading to the cookies had been set in place by a spring rain. Logan had traced it back often in his mind. It had been a morning like many others, but in the mental motion picture he played back again and again and again, he found those markers of change. Little pinpoints that would eventually lead him to those cookies.
It had rained that morning as Logan rode his bike to work. It often did that time of year. No different than any day, except the construction next door forced him to find a different place to park his bike. He found a suitable, covered bike rack across the street. Pinpoint one.
Roman barged into the office particularly boisterously that morning. Logan groaned quietly as he closed the drawer he had been filing away papers in. Fifteen minutes of quiet that morning, not too bad. His hand was already on the doorknob when an unfamiliar sound gave him pause. Roman was giggling. Not laughing or cackling like he normally did, but giggling. Logan frowned. From the other side of the door, Roman’s voice lilted and rang. There was talk of some kind of dinner plans at an exotic sounding restaurant with the mystery person on the phone. Roman said he was excited for the champagne with gold flakes the person would definitely be bringing him, since it was his birthday, and giggled once more. Pinpoint two.
Possible Gift Ideas for Roman De la Vega. Logan found himself staring down at the empty list again. Three patients had come and gone. Simple check-ups, which, unfortunately, gave his mind plenty of room to continue to agonize over this strange thought. He had never given Roman a birthday gift before. After all their years of knowing each other, they had just come to an understanding. Logan was terrible at giving gifts and even worse at receiving gifts. Casual birthday dinners and rounds of drinks had always been fine. So why was it suddenly not fine this year? Pinpoint three.
By the end of the day, the list was still empty and Logan had turned to Google to tell him what to get his own best friend for a birthday gift. He nearly hurled the monitor across the room when Roman popped his head through the door to say goodnight. They shared an awkward goodbye. When the door finally closed, Logan slumped down onto his desk with a frustrated groan. Graduating third in his class from Pacific U. apparently proved nothing about his intellect if he couldn’t figure out something as simple as the perfect gift for Roman. After angrily scrolling through blog post after blog post about gifting watches and sports memorabilia, he finally gave up and slunk out the front door. Pinpoint four.
This trail of pins all lead up to the faithful moment when Logan, struggling to unwrap the lock from his bike, looked up to curse whoever might be “up there” and suddenly noticed the shop in front of the bike rack. It was a bakery, warm and inviting as they usually are, with a large chalkboard sign in the window that had caught his eye. Delicate pastel flowers and smiling pastries curled around the edges encircling the beautiful, curling calligraphy of possibly the worst collection of puns Logan had ever seen. “Knead a loaf-ly gift for your sweetie pie? Crumb on in and check out our hot-crossed buns!” And that was the last pinpoint.
Small bronze bells above the door frame tinkled as Logan pushed the door open slowly. The air that was kicked up around his feet seemed to dance lazily about, heavily aromatic with some spice he couldn’t place. Logan remembered thinking the place was like a reverse TARDIS, so much smaller than it seemed on the outside, as he bumped into a table stacked tall with vibrant boxes of intricately painted chocolates. In every available space, there were mismatched pieces of furniture covered in baskets, boxes, and dishes displaying a dizzying array of goodies. Even more, lush plants of all shapes and sizes squeezed in corners and draped atop shelves. Logan found himself drifting in small circles, lost in the waves of colors, more colors than he had ever seen in once place. By all logic, it should have been overwhelming, but it was something else. Charming, maybe, or whimsical, he thought as he studied a row of glassy chocolate planets under a glass dome. They seems to catch and shimmer in the light as he tilted his head from side to side slowly.
“Umm… can I help you with anything?”
Logan rocketed up and scrambled to adjust his tie. One wayward elbow jostled a nearby shelf; a pit thudded down into his stomach as the flower pot at the top tipped dangerously towards the edge. Two pale, delicate hands shot forward to steady it, replacing it gently with a extra tender tap.
“I’m- I’m very sorry. This place is very crowded. Many objects in here. I shall have to keep a better eye on my elbows. I apologize.”  Logan stuttered awkwardly as he spoke, clutching the offending joint in one hand.
“It’s fine. There is a lot of junk in here.” The other man shrugged as he spoke, shifting his dark hoodie further up on his shoulders. His flat composure told Logan that kind of thing happened often. “So, do you, like, need anything?” He asked again.
“Oh, uh, I just noticed the sign in the window…”
“And you ‘kneaded’ a gift for your ‘sweetie pie’?”
Logan flushed brightly at the slightly mocking tone and the dark smirk of the other man. Stupid, he knew it was stupid, and now this man knew how stupid he was for being pulled in by a sign filled with puns. “I-I’ll just go.”
“No, no, geez, I’m sorry. I was just kidding. I just have to look at that silly sign every day and I swear it’s stuck in my brain.” The man chuckled sheepishly, rubbing comically at his forehead like he was trying to scrub the bad puns out of his memory.
Logan sighed in hesitant relief and chuckled too. “Yeah, that sign was...something. I just need a gift for a friend.”
“Sure, totally. Let me go get our baker. You’re lucky you caught him in, he’s a master at gifts. And awful puns.”
Logan nodded a silent thank you as he disappeared back behind the counter. The big glass case at the counter was bursting with the golden glow of pastries and Logan stepped closer to examine them as he waited. The goodies seemed to crowd up against the glass, vying for his attention as they glistened and shone. Rows of plump cream puffs, pillowy croissants, and glistening fruit tarts filled his vision in a sugary hurricane. His stomach seemed to whine as it reminded him of how empty it was. A few muffled footsteps on the other side of the case brought Logan back from his pastry daze. He straightened up slowly this time, making sure to move cautiously as he pushed his glasses farther up his nose. By the time the baker came out from around the corner, Logan had positioned himself, casually perusing a basket of what seemed to be handmade potholders.
“Hi, welcome in to For Goodness Bakes! I’m Patton. Virgil said we might need some help today?”
“Ah, yes, I’m Logan and I need a gahh…ift.” Logan could hear the gears of his brain falter and screech against each other as he glanced up. For a moment, he was sure he had somehow stumbled into a cartoon world as the man that stood in front of him surely wasn’t from the real world. From the unruly mess of silky curls to the tri-colored sweater tucked under his bright pink apron. The wide, charming grin and his impossibly smooth, tawny skin. The bakery seemed to be built around him, a perfect, cozy habitat. When Patton giggled at Logan’s stumbled words, it took a tremendous amount of willpower to stop himself from turning and sprinting out the front door.
“A gift? That’s great! Would you like some suggestions?” Patton smiled warmly, reaching up to flip a stubborn curl from his face. But before Logan could even answer, the baker gasped sharply.  “Oh, sugar sprinkles! Hold that thought!”
“I’ve already got the chocolate for the almond horns going, Pat.” Virgil called from around the corner, answering the request before Patton could even put it into words.
“God bless you, you fantastic, little shadow bunny!” Patton called back around the corner. His only response an unintelligible grumble. “I would definitely lose each and every one of my remaining marbles if I didn’t have that delightful cupcake.”
“Sorry, did he say almond horns?”
Patton nodded vigorously, curling bouncing. “Yes, I had a customer request them specially for her daughter birthday. It’s my first time making them, but they aren’t coming out quite right. I think I’m missing something.” The small frown that crinkled his lips made Logan’s pulse leap.
“Are you using marzipan or almond paste?”
“Almond paste.”
“Well, I don’t want to tell you how to do your job, of course. I mean, nevermind, it’s unimportant. You probably don’t want to hear any of my feelings- I mean, advice.” Inside his mind, Logan pleaded with his mouth to just stop talking. That was a new thought.
“Oh, jam tarts, my grammaw always said ‘everybody got love and recipes and we should learn to share both of them more’!” Patton chuckled fondly, pushing his hands into the pockets of his apron and rocking back on his heels.
Logan barely managed to croak out his answer. “Rosewater.”
“What’s that you said?”
“Marzipan is traditionally made with rosewater, while almond paste isn’t. The rosewater will add another flavor to them, which could be what you think you are missing. My grandfather would make almond horns for holidays when I was a kid. I would consider them my favorite sweet, but not many places around here seem to make them.”
Patton clapped his hands together under his chin; his eyes dancing in a way that reminded Logan of a mad scientist or a crazed artist. “OH! FANTASTIC! Viiiiirge, remind me to go get rosewater from home in an hour!”
“I’m not Siri, Patton...”
“Please, compadre pal friendo?”
“Yeah, fine....”
“Thanks, puff pastry! Wow, and thank you. Logan. What fantastic timing you have wandering in here at just the right time to help me out of my little dilemma like some kind of baking fairy godfather!  I’ve got to do something for you… What could I do…. Wait! You needed help with something!”
“Yes, a gift for my friend.”
“Right, right, right, yes, yes, yes.” Patton tapped the frame of his glasses, old plastic lenses with a few small cracks in big wire frames, Logan couldn’t help but notice. “All right, what kinds of things does your friend like?”
Logan shifted his weight from foot to foot awkwardly. The question he had been dreading. “Let’s see…” Tapping his phone awake, Logan studied the tiny list he had managed to scrape together. “He drinks far too much coffee, so that’s one thing.... He always says his favorite holiday is the day after Valentine’s days for some reason. I don’t really know if that counts. His favorite color is red possibly. And he sings. A lot. Is that helpful? I’m not sure how this all works.”
When he looked up from his phone, the baker was gone. Logan took surprised step backwards and looked around in confusion. A quiet tapping helped him spot Patton again. Standing up on his tiptoes, Logan could just see the top of the other’s head where he knelt on the other side of the glass case. His plump fingers rapped quickly against the surface as he glanced over the pastries inside. He seemed to be muttering rapidly to himself.
“So, is he extra?” Patton called up to him.
“I’m sorry, what?”
“Your friend? Is he fun, fab, fancy? Extravagant? A little dramatic maybe?”
Logan chuckled a little. “Yes, very much so.”
“Does he dress well?”
“Does that help you pick what kind of pastry he’d like?”
“Oh, absolutely, sugarcane! Is he fashionable? And is it like classically fashionable or more modern and trendy kind of fashionable?”
Logan tried to picture Roman in his mind. His face came through clearly, with his trademark smug grin and bright amber eyes, but when he tried to imagine an outfit, it was just a blur. Was that something people really noticed? He furrowed his brow. “He, um, wears blazers often, I suppose? And he went to that large fashion convention in New York one year, I think.” That was all he could manage.
“New York Fashion Week? He must be a bit of a trail-blazer then, eh?” Patton laughed to himself as he popped up from behind the case, his head barely clearing the top. “Okay, I’ve got some ideas bouncing around in the ole’ noggin for a gift. When do you need this gift by?” He leaned his arm on the top of the glass case and rested his chin on his wrist. His fingers left a smudge of flour across his nose. Logan pretended to intensely consider the calendar app on his phone.
“Is tomorrow too soon? I apologize for the short notice. I will pay any extra fees you need.”
Patton waved him off with a shake of his hand and a cheery wink. “No way, muffin, not for my baking fairy godfather. I’ll have it ready tomorrow morning for you, okie dokie?”
“Yes, that would be perfect. Thank you for accommodating me.”
“Oh, cream puffs, it’s nothing. But now you’ve got to swiss roll on outta here, ami-dough, because I’ve got baking to do!”
“Wow.” Logan whispered, looking up at Patton with a mixture of awe and terror on his face. “That was truly, truly awful.”
The other man only gave a silly shrug in response and shooed him out.
As the door to the bakery swung shut behind him and Logan stood in the heavy night drizzle, he didn’t feel cold at all. In fact, he felt positively warm. As he rode home, he made a mental note to check his temperature when he got home. Logan mumbled to the buzzing streetlamps he hoped he hadn’t caught anything.
But, of course, Logan hadn’t known then that he was the one that was caught.

Warm Winter | Jimin
Tumblr media
→ summary: “Hey, some asshole pulled the fire alarm at the dead of night and I couldn’t help but notice that you are severely underdressed for the cold weather so would you like to share my jacket? Did I mention that I am severely in love with you?” -Park Jimin’s internal dialogue as he approaches you, 2017
{or alternatively: Kim Taehyung is an idiot, thankfully}
→ genre: college!au, fluff, humor (why are my plots always so dumb)
→ words: 1.7K
→ a/n: belated merry christmas you ho ho hoes!
Tumblr media
“well, look at the bright side! at least you thought to wear underwear, right?” seulgi, your wonderful and appropriately clothed roommate, murmurs lowly, as she looks at your significantly unclothed state in silent appraisal. she pauses to squint at you. “you are wearing underwear, right?”
you suppose the somewhat overdramatic groan that exits your mouth is answer enough for her.
“which do you think would be less painful? dying of hypothermia or embarrassment?” you groan, fighting the urge to smash your head on the icy concrete and just end it all.
“probably the hypothermia,” seulgi supplies helpfully, patting your bare shoulder in comfort.
with all things considered, december 17th was supposed to be a day of celebration. early that morning, college students ranging from all states of sleep deprived and mentally unstable had witnessed the first flecks of snow flutter gently down to earth, littering the streets with soft white peaks just high enough to cancel the finals for the day. you had been one of those zombie-like students, watching with all-consuming gratitude as fate allowed you brief respite from your predetermined doom.
and so, at 5:46pm, you had barged into your shared room with seulgi, not bothering to even grunt a discernible reply back to her serene “hello” before shutting down and proclaiming yourself mentally dead to the world for at least the next 24 hours.
this was supposed to be the end to a mildly triumphant day for the average college student. but no. nononononononono.
you see, the thing about living in a dorm filled with dumb college kids is that you are living in a dorm filled with dumb college kids.
and when college kids get a bit too greedy and attempt to push their luck, then those college kids (including the innocent bystanders) are promptly bitch slapped by fate itself.
which leads you to your current situation: standing cold, naked, and afraid outside your dormitory in zero degree weather, with only a thin blanket to keep your modesty intact.
(some time in the middle of your slumber, you had stripped yourself of all your clothing as you usually did, obviously unaware that you would later be stumbling out of your dorm in half-asleep distress as you tried to evacuate from the nonexistent fire. well, at least you thought to bring your blanket along. you’ll have to take the small victories.)
“i’m going to kill kim taehyung for pulling that fire alarm,” you grumble, tightening your yellow blanket around your shivering form. seulgi smiles pityingly at you, and turns to look at the gentleman in question. taehyung is sitting on one of the stone steps leading into the building, with his gaggle of giggling idiot friends also standing close by.
“how are you sure it was kim taehyung who pulled the alarm?” seulgi asks. you give her a withering look.
“last month’s fire extinguisher incident was taehyung’s doing too, don’t you remember? i wouldn’t be surprised if he had some firefighter kink or something,” you snorted, the short bark of laughter sounding more like chattering teeth than anything.
as if sensing your blatant slandering being aimed at him, taehyung suddenly turns to face the both of you, a boxy-grin lighting up his face before a questioning brow rises up after finally seeing you. the grin turns a little bit more mischievous as he stands up from his perch, happily skipping to where the two of you stood.
“oh fuck, here comes the idiot king himself.” you feel the dread rising up in your belly, already knowing what taehyung is probably going to say. that sharp ice shard near the sidewalk is looking pretty promising right now.
“hey seulgi and y/n.” he glances at your body, a dirty look in his eyes. you feel yourself bristling, and seulgi points taehyung a warning look––not like he notices though. “so... y/n. didn’t know you were into exhibitionism, but i guess we all have our quirks, huh?” he jokes, barely missing your (weak) kick to his groin. your eyes narrow at him.
“this is just an intelligent guess, but i’m almost 100% positive this is all your fault,” you growl, the angry pout on your face looking more like a cute, angry puffer fish than actually menacing.
“you can’t blame me for your kinks, y/n! look, i’m not judging you for your preferences—“ taehyung begins, but never finishes.
that sentence never sees the full light of day because one moment you were bunching up your blanket around your chest to make sure it wouldn’t fall, and then the next second your right fist is about to make contact with a warm chest—
but it wasn’t kim taehyung’s chest.
“oh woah, y/n! no need to murder taehyungie when it’s almost christmas,” park jimin laughs his squeaky laugh, and you swear that the immediate vicinity suddenly felt warmer. he lowers your loosening fist away from his solid chest. oh my god oh my god where did he come from and how did he get here so quickly did i actually punch park jimin and also his chest is so firm what the actual fuck—
(“you are so whipped,” seulgi snickers quietly at your reddening face. you hope he didn’t hear.
“shut the fuck up, choppy bangs,” you hiss back.)
“wow, thanks for taking the bullet for me, jiminie! i wasn’t sure if i could have handled the impact of her tiny hands.” taehyung giggles, before getting promptly punched by your aforementioned tiny hands. you huff, feeling slightly better that you actually got a hit in.
taehyung makes a small “ooph!” sound, looking betrayed at jimin’s lack of interference. jimin shrugs his shoulders.
“i have biased affinity with fellow small-handed people.”
“more like you have a biased affinity with people named y/n,” is what you think taehyung replies back, but jimin’s hands had immediately went to grab taehyung in a chokehold, making all his words sound muffled and stifled.
“don’t make me call jungkook here,” jimin threatens, and that apparently is scary enough to make the other boy’s face pale. taehyung wiggles his way out jimin’s hold and runs away, most likely to bother another pair of unsuspecting students. the three of you watch for a moment as taehyung starts bothering one of the seniors (min yoongi?) and promptly gets nipple twisted before finally turning away to face each other.
jimin nods a friendly “hello” at seulgi before fixing his gaze properly on you, a worried glint in his eyes despite his bright grin.
“hey, are you alright? you’re probably freezing, aren’t you?” he says worriedly, instantly bringing his hands up to rub warm circles around your shoulders. jimin must have mistook your shiver for feeling cold, because he starts moving his hands around your arms in bolder movements. oh my god this is so boyfriend right now.
seulgi takes one look at your reddening face before drily saying “nah, i think she’s doing better now.”
you whip your head back at her threateningly, daring her to say more. she raises her hands up in surrender. “jeez, i didn’t say anything! i guess i’ll take that as my cue to leave you two lovebirds alone. take care of her, okay jimin?" was all she said as she walks away, giving you two knowing glances the whole time.
you chance a glance at jimin’s face to find it lightly flushed, but it must have been from the cold, right? you manage to gather enough courage to bring your hands to cup his face, brushing your thumbs across his soft cheeks.
“hey, aren’t you cold too?” you whisper, watching in amazement as his cheeks reddened slightly. poor kid must be freezing like you!
“u-um,” he stutters, reaching to remove your hands from his face and holding them in his own. you both pretend it isn’t anything special (but HOLY FUCK y’all are holding hands wowowowow) “don’t worry about me; you should worry about yourself! you’re only in a blanket, for christ’s sake!” his previously shy self melts away to reveal his usual mother hen self, and you watch in slight alarm as he starts to shrug off his jacket.
“no! don’t give me your jacket; you’ll get cold too!”
“y/n,” jimin huffs, holding out his varsity jacket with a determined pout. “i insist! it wouldn’t be right for me to let your freeze to death!”
“no!”
“yes!”
“no!”
“yes!”
“just kiss already!” taehyung yells from a distance, before promptly screaming from another nipple twist.
after a moment of intense staring (ok, maybe you just liked looking into his eyes), you finally huff in acquiescence. “fine!” you take the jacket and put it on as carefully as you could to save yourself from flashing the poor guy (not that he would have minded, to be honest.) you had a small condition for taking his jacket, though.
“if i get your jacket, then we have to share the blanket. deal?”
the damn smile on jimin’s face could probably cure cancer; maybe you should ask namjoon to help test your hypothesis, you think dumbly to yourself.
“that’s fine with me. and also, umm…” he hesitates, fidgeting a little as he brushes his hand across his hair. you try your hardest not to stare at his admittedly hot messy hairstyle that he has going on.
“i heard from one of the RAs that they aren’t letting us back in until later. do you think you want to go... get some coffee? in the mean time?” he offers, and you’re about to agree much too quickly, but apparently he hasn’t finished speaking.
“ok so, i’ve been wanting to ask you on a date for weeks now but i’ve always been kind of shy and you just looked so cold and cute and i immediately wanted to wrap you up in millions of blankets but the dorm is closed right now so i just had to offer my jacket and oh my god did i just say date i didn’t mean that unless you want it to be a date then holy crap yes let this be a date but if you don’t want it to be a date then we could just be friends and i—“ jimin begins, but he never finishes.
you pull away from his cheek, a glowing grin on your face as you watch him going to touch his cheek, dumbstruck.
“did you…?” he stammers, and you can’t help but adore the way his face flushes.
“let’s go on that date? i could go for something warm.”
“oh! date? yes, date. it’s a date? um. let’s go.”
♡♡♡
(“wow, so jimin is actually even more whipped than y/n, huh? interesting,” seulgi giggles as she watches the two of you huddling close in your blanket.
taehyung nods sagely. “indeed. speaking of whipped, would you like some hot chocolate? perchance, we may stalk the two idiots from a booth nearby?”
“can’t believe you actually have a good plan.”)
